We had a dog friendly room and it faced the freeway. It was quite noisy but to get a different room was an additional $30. They required a $50 incidental hold and when I asked about getting it back when we checked out they told us there was a charge of $40 for our dog so we only got $10 back.

The place I usually stay at when I visit was full so I picked this one, as it is close-ish to downtown and gets good reviews. What I couldn’t tell from the photos is that this is a converted motel. You walk through a lobby, but then out doors to your room. If you’re on the second floor, you’re lugging your bags up stairs. The rooms are updated, and it seemed clean but there was a hair in the tub which is always a little gross. I didn’t like that the bathroom sink area is open to the room so you can’t wash your hands or do anything at the sink without waking up the whole room. A door should be added. Also, the TV made no sense. The channels were not correct and the guide didn’t work. My son is on the news there and I wanted to watch but we could never find the correct channel. And could not get streaming to work, so couldn’t watch a movie or anything. That was frustrating. The staff were nice, but we stayed 3 nights and there was zero room cleaning. That also surprised me. I know it went away with Covid, but most places I have been staying in the past year or 2 have room service again. So overall, it’s a 3* stay for me. It was fine. I should note that the bed was pretty comfortable (and I’m very picky), and the pillows were also good. I wouldn’t necessarily choose to stay here again, but would in a pinch.

We had a great stay. They were very accommodating when I booked the wrong room. Love that you can walk to the restaurant and, the food was very good. Will definitely stay there again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly, the breakfast buffet was really good especially the sausage gravy biscuits. The beds were decent. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

The pool area was amazing! The room was very clean, and the staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant connected to the hotel was a huge plus and had great food!!

Room was clean, with recently upgraded fixtures. We stay here for a holiday weekend every year because it is reliably clean, and for the breakfast. Because it’s provided out of the attached restaurant, it is superior to any other breakfast I’ve found included with the cost of a hotel stay.

Room smelled like mold and I found bugs in the bathroom.

Great part of Redding, had an excellent dinner at the grill attached to this property.

Early check in was offered without any problem. That is 180 degrees from La Quinta in Visalia the night before where my wife and I had to wait an hour to receive room keys. This Best Western Hilltop in Redding has outstanding personnel who were welcoming and very helpful for us two 80 year olds. I highly reccommend this as an excellent place to stay. Not only that, the restaurant in the same building, Gibbs, is a five star eatery. The dinner was one of the best meals I've ever had and the breakfast was superb. A little noisy from the Interstate 5 traffic, but not bad.

Our room was all the way to the back of the building which is close to the freeway. You can hear cars passing by. There were also trucks parked at the back which was loud at night, not sure if they were fixing it at night but it was loud and interrupted our sleep. I wish they didn’t put us at the back since there were a lot of rooms available, it was already too late when we realized and we already settled in. The room was nice and clean.

The hotel could use some updates and specifically sound proofing.it may not be so bad towards the front of the hotel, but in the back where I was, it was rough. Not only due to the freeway noise but I could also hear my neighbors as if I was sharing a room with them.

The breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean and quiet. Staff very helpful. The tv system had just changed over for this hotel, and we had difficulty finding and seeing what we wanted. Staff member came to the room, but said since they just changed over, many people were having problems. Because of that we canceled our return trip stay there.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 days and had a good stay. The room was older, and okay, and mostly clean. The shower could use a good deep cleaning in the corners, but other than that no complaints. The hotel staff at all levels was the best I have seen in many years. Every staff member was professional and genuinely happy and helpful. It was very nice to see a welcoming greeting when I arrived and during my stay. A+ for all of the staff. Don't let any of them go.

The breakfast was good, but gluten free options could be better…They put us in the back rooms facing the freeway which is VERY noisy. I brought earplugs but those rooms need much better insulation & windows from the freeway noise. No earplugs were provided & no lotion is provided. Toilet was plugged up somewhere in the line before I arrived. We didn’t try the restaurant but tried the sister Mexican restaurant which was great.

Guest one door down had a monster truck. He decided to leave early in the morning and woke us up around 5am. No fault of the hotel!

Easy-to-find location, clean room. Checking in was fast, and despite the fact that I arrived late in the day, I was able to get the services I needed at the hotel and close to the hotel. N/A - good hotel, good value

My only minor complaint was that the bed had a noticeable sunk, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful. I’d definitely stay here again. The bed was worn out and sunk.

We brought our dog this time and the property feels very safe at night, there is a security guard walking the premises when its dark. Plus there are plenty of places to take your dog to use the bathroom. We will be back

No microwave in room and bed comfort wasn't as advertised. I paid too much to have to walk to the lobby at 4 am or 8pm to warm up bottles.

Hotel was okay. What colored my stay was my room location (faced the very busy 101 Freeway) and difficulty finding my room. There are NO signs indicating what room numbers are in that corridor. Normally not that important but they are several corridors in a sprawling layout over 2 floors.

We LOVE staying at this particular Best Western Hotel. We been here so many times with our dog and it's truly the nicest Best Western. And having CJ Grill there is a real Plus!!!

this was easily the nicest BW I've seen. it's an older facility, but you wouldn't realize that unless you knew. maintenance is invisible, everything looks new. the pool area is an excellent example of the details... the area is spotless, the landscape around the pool is excellent and the little details added to the area bring it all together. the staff is all friendly and yet, professional. the breakfast was excellent. the only drawback was the area was a but sketchy looking at night, but pretty much every city in California has beefing so.

My son and I did an impromptu overnight trip to explore Redding, Shasta and see Burney Falls. We were so happy to have stayed at this Best Western. The place was nice, clean and all the staff were kind, friendly, helpful and just overall amazing. One of the staff recommended great places to see and how best to maximize out one day visit in the area. So grateful to everyone there. And my sons loved the nice pool & spa! We look forward to going back again.

Our room was given to another person after we checked in….no apology from the front desk and we would have never known except that we saw the people enter when we returned from dinner! The hotel was way overpriced. The lobby and breakfast was the only “wonderful” thing about it. The rooms are exterior access which I’m not fond of. The room was small and outdated bathroom was very small and I did not feel comfortable as I was alone with a small child.

All of the staff here are wonderful and friendly at every turn. The pool was excellent and rooms were clean. When you walked by the turned on a/c in the room you could smell a moldy/wet smell as it blew in your face. Didn’t effect the room smell really, but wasn’t pleasant. The breakfast was the least favorite of our 2 week trip. Overall a nice place.

We liked everything about this hotel besides the fact that the hotel has adjoining rooms. We only needed one room but still got a room with a door. Our neighbors were so loud til about 4 in the morning. We have 3 kids

It was a nice hotel but they don’t clean the rooms properly. We came in from the pool and the floor was wet so we wiped it with a towel and it was so dirty and the towel was not even white anymore. There was a huge spider in our room. Other then that staff is very friendly and helpful good breakfast.

Friendly staff, good continental breakfast, but rooms were small for two queen beds. I would stay there again.

Check in went smoothly. We got our room early. But when we got to our room we noticed they put us facing HWY 5 which was very noisy and we had a 6 month old. The hotel was pretty empty and any other room would have been better than what they gave us. Also the bathroom sink drained super slow. We didn’t complain.

The room faces I-5 and i couldn't sleep much due to the traffic noise. Poor sound insulation. Old hotel. Worn carpet. Smelly room.

Room was horrible; at rhe back of the hotel and next to I5. Toiletries in the bathroom were empty. Got no housekeeping second day because they were “busy”. The only positive was the EV parking on site. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless nothing else is available.

Pool was warm and clean

Bed wasn’t that comfortable $40 a day for your dog so I had to pay $80 for 2 days I paid over $400 for 2 days if beds were comfortable I’d say it was worth it but they were hard

The room was very nice but hard to access with our luggage. The elevator was on the other side of the building. There was some sort of baseball event going on there were a lot of kids staying there. They were running up and down the outside walkway in the evening. Lastly, we were given the wrong times for breakfast and went down at 9:38am and it was over. Another staff member apologized and said you just missed it. I was very irritated because I paid over $200 for our room because the buffet breakfast was included. There were a lot of transients and homeless around the hotel so we took everything out of our car to prevent a break in.

The hotel has an adjacent restaurant that has fabulous food. The rooms are very clean and remodeled. Staff was very cordial. Will stay there again.

The front lobby staff was amazing! Super friendly knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast food was gross nothing was edible the only thing was the French toast but even that was gross. The other reason for my low rating was the housekeeping entered my room twice while sleeping. The knocked and came right in as they knocked no time to yell stop or anything was not dressed.

Great lobby and dining. The room 248 we got was outdated and toilet wouldn’t flush, dirty towel was left in our room and hairs on the ground . Breakfast was good. Not sure if I will stay again but maybe in another room that’s updated then possibly. Didn’t feel like it was worth the price.

2. T.V. didn't work--after repeated attempts by front end staff. We proceed to change rooms. At 3 o'clock in the morning we are awakened by a loud boom. Everything had fozen in the fridge and a soda can had exploded. Blew the entire top clean off! We proceeded to clean it out and inform staff. Needless to say not the most restfull stay. I have yet to hear anything from the hotel.

There is only one elevator, everyone’s ac leaks into the wall paths, stairwells flood in the rain. One working ice machine. The noise from the freeway in the back is disruptive. The ac made a random buzz noise through the night. The room was so tiny I had to move the bed just to fit the suitcase cart into the room.The fridges are not fridges, rather crispers. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff tried so hard, but its lipstick on a pig. Why would anyone not

Front desk staff was very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us with our needs, making our experience even more enjoyable.

It's the second time staying here. Room was clean, beds comfortable, dinning was easy. Enjoyed our evening.

THE BEST !! I HAVE TO MENTION THAT ON ONE DAY I NEEDED MY ROOM CLEANED WITHIN A SPECIFIC WINDOW OF TIME, AND ASKED MATT AT FRONT DESK TO FACILITATE THAT. WELL, LUANNA FRON HOUSECLEANING WAS LITERALLY OUTSIDE MY DOOR 2 MINUTES BEFORE THE REQUESTED TIME, AND GOT THE JOB DONE. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED. ALSO MATHEW AND ONE OTHER TALL YOUNG LADY AT FRONT DESK, WHOSE NAME I FORGET. BUT YES, IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY IN A HOTEL IN REDDING, PLEASE CHOOSE THE BEST WESTERN HILLTOP!! Needed a place to crash for the night on the way to Oregon

If you do stay here do not get a room by the freeway. It was super noisey and we had a horrible night of sleep. When I asked about the noisiness of the other rooms, they said ask for an Executive Room next time for a quiet stay. As for today I am super tired. The room was nice and the breakfast was great. Great location close to everything but a horrible nights rest.

It’s very close to the highway and very noisy. I only slept two to three hours the whole night.

We have stayed here several times. We are very satisfied with the Hotel.

The floor was dirty. Corners of the room were dirty. The conditioner on bathroom wall did not work. Had difficulty setting the heater on the wall. Directions for coffee maker were difficult to follow.

Both times we visited, the room has been spotless clean. This time upgrading to closer to the front was perfect for reducing the interstate noise. The upgrade was very inexpensive. Very pleased.

The breakfast, in particular, was excellent. The only problem was they didn't fill up the conditioner in the shower. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel.
