Fresh orange juice delivered to your door daily. AMAZING tennis courts and coaches for the tennis enthusiast. Beautiful setting and lovely restaurant. Communication between staff members were not great - we had to call three times to get the sofa bed made up for our child and by the time housekeeping arrived it was very late at night.

pretty much everything. great staff. wonderful food. it was quite pricey. If I have to stretch the parking spaces are small, but it wasn’t at capacity so that wasn’t a problem.

Casitas and property is stunning! Rooms are clean and comfortable. We went with kids age 10 and 8 and they loved the pool and our room. Only areas for improvement are: 1) staffing the family pool during the week, not just the weekend. It's a SPENDY place to not have somebody taking lunch and drink orders at the pool. We had to dial in the order and wait a fairly long time to get it. 2) Food is VERY mediocre, and of course incredibly over-priced for what it is. 3) The amount of plastic water bottles used is a little embarrassing; seems they could get with the eco-program and find a better way to do this without all the waste. Hoping that the ramp-up after COVID may bring the service and food program up a notch. I'd need that to return at this price tag!

The casitas are very well appointed. Possibly the best bathroom I’ve ever had, the Japanese toilet and steam shower are winners! The patio with hot tub and the sunsets and hot air balloons. The fresh orange juice delivered to your door, and all of the food from the restaurant that we tried was amazing. The lemon ricotta pancakes for breakfast and the lobster tacos for lunch were stand outs. The spa/spa pool area is under construction. There is a fully serviced other pool which was lovely, but you should check where your appointments are if you are having treatments.

Where to begin ... our first introduction to the Resort was at the guard gate. The gentleman greeted us with a Happy Birthday Mr .... - I had informed them it was my husband’s bday weeks ago when I made the reservation for his birthday dinner. After we were escorted to our beautiful villa (with Bday surprises throughout), I realized I had forgotten to pack a round brush to style my hair. I contacted the front desk and after searching the spa, gift shops, etc they concluded (with my help) that they did not have a brush that would satisfy my style needs :) ... but low and behold ... a round brush appeared in my room. They had sent someone to the local CVS (?) to buy one for me. This attention to detail and constant pampering continued throughout our stay: ice pops made with fresh fruit AND chilled watermelon delivered poolside, fresh squeezed OJ with newspaper of your choice delivered each morning, fabulous food and service at both onsite restaurants, outstanding pool service and well- equipped gym, a massage that began with a luxurious down comforter and ended with a wellness-shot of green goodness, spa robes that felt like the a billowy cotton cloud... the ONLY thing that would have improved our stay was a makeup mirror for my old, failing eyes... but I’m sure if I had asked, it would have appeared on the counter in our villas’ palatial bathroom.

The hotel was understaffed in the restaurant and did not have have enough servers. The servers were doing their best but were overwhelmed at breakfast and lunch. In fact we only saw 2 servers and people were complaining. Hotel is definitely not 5 star caliber. The breakfast table for continental breakfast needs significant upgrade and is not what we find at other 5 star hotels. The food in the veladora was very dissappointing, and in fact was not good at all. Food was served cold and tasteless.

Always a special "treat" to stay here as one can truly relax. Excellent service and amenities, plus privacy and beautiful scenery make it our favorite hotel in the San Diego area. Not cheap, but well worth the money if you want to get away and relax.

This is a spectacular property from the grounds to the service. We were met with champagne, and given an overview of the property. Efraim showed us to our room and was extremely helpful and professional. The grounds are beautiful and we were fortunate enough to stay in the Olive Garden Suite which was very private with a waterfall not too far away. The next morning started with fresh squeezed orange juice! If you have an opportunity to stay here, take advantage of it!

We have a 5 Star experience every time we visit Rancho Valencia; hands down, the best resort and spa in Southern California. The visit can be expensive, but worth every penny of it if you want to vacation in style or like a "celebrity".

I have visited this resort 10+ times and have always had A+ experience, ALWAYS! The staff is friendly and professional; the rooms (houses) are in great condition and always clean; you have your own space and privacy, the restaurant has excellent food and service, valet is fast and friendly, the grounds are well kept, beautiful, and organized. If you want some privacy and a place to relax with 5+ Star service, this should be your selection. HIGHLY recommend!!

Great resort, nice amenities. Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice every morning with the paper. Great tennis lessons. Nice spa and fitness center with a variety of Pilates, yoga and spin classes. Good proximity to Del Mar and La Jolla for beach and restaurants. Really enjoyed the week we spent here. It was a shame to leave for the day to visit the San Diego Zoo or other attractions.
