Staff was amazing. Only down side was the room was very dated. Mold painted over in the bathroom, hole in the ceiling. Needs an update badly. Didn't complain because it was midnight when we settled in our room and was just ready for a bed.

The building is ancient. My room had a door to the room next door with enough of a gap that I could hear everything they were doing, including the sex they were having. Against my will. 8n addition, the main door had a 2 inch gap so I could also hear everything in the hallway, and the light was ever present.

I loved how close it was to the red hat amphitheatre and the museums and restaurants. It was quiet, and clean and beautiful. The staff was very courteous. Not really a complaint. Upon check in there was a moment where they had trouble finding my reservation because my first and last name had been reversed in their system. But the confusion only lasted a few moments and I had no other problems during my stay.

We arrived at 3pm, and inquired about early check-in, but of course just like any other chain hotel anymore, the answer was 'Sorry, we don't have any rooms available yet, your room will be ready at 4. Also, we don't validate or control parking - it's across the street and the rates are their rates, which might be higher since an event is going on.' Cool. Sort of wish hotels told you when huge events like Artsplosure are happening -- plus, a prom was happening there, so there were a million kids running around, knocking on the wrong hotel room doors (happened 2x). Beyond that, when we got to our room I called to inquire about where ice machines are - they told me every odd floor. Great, we're on 11, convenient! Except when I walked all the way to the opposite end where the machine is, it was out of order. Fab, I'll just go down to floor 9. Also out of order. GREAT. Finally got my ice on floor 7. Seems like when I called the front desk they'd know these were broken. The best part was being awoken by housekeeping loudly chatting outside of our room at 9:15 on Sunday. I know that's not the crack of dawn, but we saw a show, and wanted to sleep in for $250, but that wasn't in the cards. I guess 'clean rooms' also aren't likely the issue for early checkin... Won't be recommending this place or staying here again.

Convenient to restaurants and the convention center When we arrived 2 hours after check in our room was not ready. I understand being short staffed and extremely busy but we didn’t get our room until 3 & a half hours after check in. My plan was to get there early enough for my daughter to get ready in the room so she could make her two hour call time for Dance that evening and it didn’t happen. However the staff was very friendly and respectful and did give us free breakfast for both mornings we were there. The staff did make everything right and went above and beyond for our stay

Room was fair - half of tv had gray coloring, lighting in the room was poor, toilet paper was rough, terrible yellow lighting in bathroom that made room very hot, pillows very uncomfortable, could not connect to wifi, parking across the street was INSANELY expensive, no clock in the room, front desk not helpful with food recommnendations, etc. Jimmy V's food was good but they were out of most alcoholic drinks, some food options, ran low on glasses... area did NOT feel safe at night when walking around. Price high for only a decent hotel. Very disappointing. Coffee bar had bad coffee also.

Arrived at 630pm, was told room not ready (double queen room booked) they would call us when it was ready, maybe an hour they said. Ended up putting us in a room with one king bed and a roll away bed. (Very cramped, no room to move in the hotel room). Offered free breakfast voucher. We went down to eat at 930 am(sat within 5 minutes) waited 15 minutes for a waitress, by 1030 am all we had were drinks no food and several tables still not served. We ended up leaving without breakfast, since we had to check out by 11. There was no parking available aside from pay to park options which we paid $25 for parking from 11pm until 11 am. Overall not the best stay. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, but they were not prepared for guests. We will choose a different hotel on our next trip to Raleigh.

Perfect location for the Raleigh Acorn drop celebration (New Years Eve). Nice size king room. The bed was comfortable with large soft pillows, shower (water pressure) was amazing, everything was clean. Security was a plus. You need your room card to use the elevator and to enter your room. Unfortunately, there was no microwave in the room, the fridge was tiny, and the TV could be bigger. No free breakfast is available.

Bizarre charging of credit card during the stay. Chose to pay at the property for this 3-Night reservation. Initial authorization for full amount and incidentals was held upon check in. Hotel attempted another authorization for nearly the full amount the second night which the bank flagged as suspicious and declined. Approved the charge with the bank. Hotel authorized another full amount charge on the 3rd night. Have NEVER had this experience before at any hotel over many years of traveling and using that same card. Luckily these holds did not impact our travel but I can certainly see how that could be problematic for others and that’s why I’m sharing this information. It is not expected to have 3 times the total of your stay on hold until several days after check out. Make sure you are prepared.

Stayed in a room near the hospitality closet and stairwell, there were large laundry bins surrounding our room doorway. The tv was an old tv with a few channels that didn’t work. Surfaces weren’t wiped. Bed and pillows were too soft, woke up a million times with low back and neck pain. Asked front desk for additional pillows. He said he would send some, they never came. Shower body wash bottle was empty. Checking in and checking out was a long wait at the front desk.

I attempted to order room service which was advertised but was told by the front desk the restaurant was separate from the hotel and I had to contact the restaurant directly to place the order. The front desk could not transfer me to the restaurant and did not know the number in which I could call. I finally walked downstairs and went to the restaurant instead. It was my only option. The manager of the restaurant was very nice, felt bad and gave me my breakfast for free. For that I was very appreciative. Two of the nicest waitress made up for everything. Their names were Noelle and Fifi. Awesome friendly ladies. Toilet was a nightmare to flush. Had to hold the handle down for over 20 seconds to make a flush. With all of that said, it’s back to center city Marriott we go.

The location is convenient in downtown Raleigh, and there are many restaurants nearby. There is a restaurant and bar within the hotel, and they have a cafe in the mornings for coffee. Parking is across the street, and it’s $20/nt. There is a public garage directly adjacent to it that has free overnight parking, unless there is an event. The rooms are generally very clean, and the bedding is always fresh and comfortable; but it is time for a refresh. The bathroom could use a remodel or a deep clean of the shower head, tiles/grout, caulking, and walls. This seems to be consistent for all the rooms I’ve stayed in here. There have been a few rooms where the thermostat did not work. Despite being set at the lowest temperature possible (64*), it didn’t get any colder in the room. One room was HOT all night during the summer. The hot water took 15 minutes to come on in one room. I waited for it to get warm for 10 minutes before I relented and showered with freezing cold water. Thankfully, at the very end, some warm water came through to warm me up just as I was finishing. This was a one-time experience in one room, though. I still choose to stay here despite these things.

I spent a weekend here for convention held at this same property. The location was very convenient for that purpose. It is also in heart of downtown Raleigh and as such very close to many dining & entertainment venues. Staff was friendly. Jimmy V’s, the on-site restaurant has fine food choices and a full bar. The room and facilities were satisfactory. The sheets were clean, the pillows were fluffy, and the towels were soft. There were no bugs, the AC kept the temperature & humidity very comfortable, and the in room coffee maker made a good brew. Unfortunately, the place is just getting well worn and needs a refresh: in my room the sink dripped, the toilet ran continuously, the shower drained slowly, one light bulb was burned out, and the tv didn’t work. As a single traveler that spent little time in my room except to rest, none of these detractors interrupted my stay and I worked around each one. If your expectation is a 5-star hotel, this isn’t it but it is satisfactory.

My fifth year staying at the Sheraton and it keeps getting better. Yes, it may be an older builing that has "older building problems" but it still stands strong. Paid garage parking, hourly and daily rates do apply. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. Jamal is one of the best there is. The rooms may not have mini fridges or microwaves to heat up your Jimmy V's leftovers, but I understand food so good is rarely in a takeout box. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud, There is ample outlets and plug-ins for all your chargers. Shower pressure is devine, for me it is perfect. The Shearton is a great place that has history around it and is close to everyday activities.

I booked this room for connivence to the convention center. I also book this hotel for a pool, which is false advertised on the website. They no longer have a pool at this location; I had children who were looking forward to using a pool. Also, I was told parking cost were $17.00 per day it was $24.00 per day. This made for hardships as we travel on tight budgets. As far as the hotel is concerned the staff was friendly, rooms were clean but without the pool there was no real value to stay at this location.

The room temperature never got below 76°. Elevators were old and took a long time. Room was clean but the bathroom was small and outdated. Employees were very nice though.

Our stay was great and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. There is unfortunately no on-site parking and because of that, the price should come down a little. $22 a day to park.

The Jimmy V restaurant was as excellent also and catered nicely to allergies - the manager plus the hosts and servers were so excellent. The breakfast chef gave me some of the best grits I’ve eaten in a while! Thank you all for a great visit.

The information about parking was incorrect (said $15/day with in and out privileges, but it was actually $24/day with no in and out privileges). The check in process was very quick, but the person didn't tell me anything (like where our room was, where to park, didn't ask if I had any questions). The hotel itself was convenient for walking downtown and was otherwise fine (felt a little run down).

I usually stay at the Sheraton for my business trips to Raleigh. This visit wasn’t pleasant as usual. The thermostat in the room was stuck at 76 degrees and wouldn’t cool. The hot water took 10-15 minutes to start flowing. I didn’t think I was going to have any at all; so after 5 minutes of trying to let the water warm up, I begrudgingly started showering in freezing cold water. Thankfully it did warm up at the end of my shower. I informed the front desk, but no apology was offered at all. I didn’t want a discount or compensation. I just thought a simple “I’m sorry” would be standard practice.

The room was a little dated, the TV seemed dated and small. No bathroom towel bars, towels were on the table in the room, not the bathroom. The toilet was dated and so low to the ground. the A/C or heat controls didnt seem to work well, room was hot and stuffy and didn't really cool down during our 2 day stay. We weren't in the room much, so that was good. temp was 75 in room even though AC was set on 70, temp never went below 74. Hotel breakfast was great, and the staff was nice. The location was great, and we walked everywhere we needed to go.

I needed a location downtown. It served that purpose. I would like to see microwaves in each room. Shuttle to/from RDU airport.

There was no hot water in the shower. The bathrooom door did not close. There was no body wash conditioner or shampoo. It’s listed on Expedia that they have parking but they infact they only had city parking as an option. On top of that. Room service comes to my room at 10 asking if im going to check out. And check out wasn’t until 11.

Our room was extremely humid and warm- to the point where the windows were dripping condensation and causing a puddle on the floor. Body wash dispenser was broken and floor tiles were broken. Just kind of beat up for the price.

Subpar hotel for the price. Good location and far from the River Walk so the noise level was better. However the tub would not drain when taking a shower, so we got bath/showers at simultaneously. Housekeeping also walked in without knocking.
