No towels in the room we had to ask front desk I also had to do some cleaning myself the bathroom wasn’t to my standards this hotel use to look way better about 2-3 years ago now after dark it looks like crackhead central lots of activity outside at night even the police were in the parking lot most of the night

Only good thing was the location near the convention center where I attended an event. Price j was charged at check in was more than the amount I got from hotels.com when I made the booking. Asked for a receipt and was told one would be emailed to me. Never got anything. Guest services application on the TV didn't work. Never again.

It had a table I could use to study and work. I stayed at the Red Roof Inn Plus from June 1–4 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment I entered the room, there was a strong musty, humid odor that made the entire space feel unclean. The room and furnishings appeared extremely outdated, and the mattress was one of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on—hard, lumpy, and seemingly well past its useful life. My biggest concern was safety. Although the room door would lock, it did not feel secure. Even when locked, the door could still be pushed or pulled enough to create concern that someone could potentially force their way inside. As a guest traveling away from home, this made me feel very unsafe throughout my stay. Overall, the property is in serious need of updates, better maintenance, and improved security measures. I would not choose to stay here again and cannot recommend it to others looking for a comfortable and secure place to stay.

Ive stayed here multiple times for the past four years. I have always stayed on the first floor with no issue, but last time my room was on the second floor and there was a very odd smell in the hall. It wasn't cigarettes or cleaning, but it was very overpowering. In the lobby and on the first floor- I didnt smell anything. Staff is always great. Has a nice big field in the back. Weird smell in hallway.

Stood at front desk for 30 minutes before the front desk girl came down the elevator with someone who appeared to be a friend of hers. She was nice once she finally arrived though. Room was more shabby, run down and outdated than I would have expected even for a budget hotel. Refrigerator didn't work. But tbe room was clean!

Around 25 minutes after arrival there were two what Google called carpet beetles. They were tiny. Then around an hour later when we returned with food two roaches came from under the microwave and then one was crawling on the wall by the night stand. We notified the front desk who offered another room, on the same floor. Upon inspecting that room before unpacking again...there were a couple of dead bugs in the room and a spider in the window. There was also an alive spider in the bed. We informed the front desk that we were leaving and was told to request a refund through Hotels.com. That process was completed only to be notified Red Roof Inn declined the request for a refund. We sent pictures as proof as well. Very dissatisfied with this booking.

There was no snack box in my room, and my reservation stated that I would have a premium room, supposedly with upgraded sheets and pillows and a snack box. Also, the receptionist opened my room while I was in the bathroom completely naked, with my door open, at 7:30 in the morning, and she called my room at 8:00 a.m., which prevented me from resting and sleeping.

The staff was very friendly, but the entire property was filled with marijuana smoke. Normally I don’t care what people do outside, but the smell was all the way up to our room. So, not exactly a smoke free property. The room was clean, but sort of worn down. Amenities were nonexistent, no coffee or breakfast.

I didn’t get a chance to stay at this property because of the illegal activities going on in the parking lot. I was addressed by a police officer who told me that the area was not safe for me and my children to stay in before I can even get out the car. I didn’t like that I had a high chance of my vehicle being broken into in this area. I hope that this area can get cleaned up because the hotel does deserve a full review, but the customer deserves to feel comfortable when they pull up to the property.

Sign up for quiet time, but a fight was in the hallway at 4 am and woke me up. Sign up means they have problems so that sucked.

The rooms were clean. The lobby always smelled fresh and clean. The staff was lacking in ability to answer any questions. And that was if you could find them. There were absolutely no amenities. We were told that there would be coffee and tea beginning at 6 AM in the lobby, but there was never any tea. we had to ask for sugar cups. The area has certainly gone downhill in the past two years. We were supposed to be-there for a week and had three incidents where the police and ambulance had to be called because of drunk, disorderly, high strung out clientele in four days so we left early.

I had a one day stay at this property. The rom I got checked in to had bugs in it. I had to kill a couple of them but found some more. I reported it to the receptionist. She was gracious to check me into a different unit. Got to the other unit and realized that the sliding window doesn’t lock. Even though I was in the second floor (one floor above ground floor), it felt unsafe because I was traveling with my passport. So I informed the receptionist about this, and she mentioned that most or all the sliding windows in the property don’t lock. Her words exactly. That was a very odd thing to realize. She offered to notify the maintenance lady about it, and proceeded to texting her, but told me it might take a while for her to get to me. After waiting close to 50 mins without being attended to, and because it was getting late in the day, I decided to check out, essentially forfeiting my reservation. The managers could do better with running the establishment, which seems to be a decent place.

The hotel was in a great location close to all the great spots like the Raleigh food hall, raising Cane's, there were a lot of bars and activities but the hotel itself wasn't great... For what I paid I wasn't expecting much but it was very dirty it seemed like nobody had cleaned after the last guest because there were food wrappers all over the floor and trash under the bed the lamps looked like they hadn't been dusted or cleaned in years there were burn holes in the bedsheets dirt all over the tables and surfaces and dust all over the popcorn ceiling. The shower was very dirty we couldn't even use it because of how dirty it was on the upside the sink and the toilet looked very clean but we also had a broken window and there was a cold breeze flowing in the entire night. In conclusion it was okay just wish it was more clean because i had a 10 month old staying with me

Staff was very courteous. However, I booked this hotel because it was a PLUS hotel. There wasn't any breakfast as advertised on the website and there was an odd smell, almost like a vape or pot, throughout the hallways, even though it was a non-smoking hotel. While we were there, the toilet broke - clean water from the tank was all over the floor. The staff fixed it quickly and offered to move us to another room. I was attending an event at the Raleigh Conference Center, so I wasn't spending much time in the room. I don't think I will return.

So first of all they "sold out" of the room type that I had RESERVED 2 months earlier. That should not be possible if they understand what a reservation is. Then they charge an additional $3.25 "Incidentals Fee" that is not disclosed when making reservations via Expedia. It is not much money, but it is the principle of it that is wrong. Then the "lock" for the room literally had no catch, just a smooth metal plate so the deadbolt couldn't stop anything because the bolt literally has no receiver. The A/C also could only run for 10-40 seconds (not kidding) at a time between 1-2 minute rest periods all night long. I stayed here approximately 4 years earlier and it was quite nice, but has gone down hill tremendously since then.

Where should I start? Methheads all around the place with access to the back of the hotel property. The halls and elevator reeked of cigarette smoke, when there are multiple signs stating this is a 100% smoke free establishment. The shower was absolutely disgusting, the drain was clogged and there was a dead fly hanging on the top of the wall. We couldn’t use the coffee machine, microwave, or fridge due to bugs. The only visibly clean thing in that entire room were the fresh towels. The police came to arrest one of the methheads and found $2 worth of meth. There were multiple occasions where we had to either run to our room or sneak out just so that no one would see us, as everyone was sketchy. The only reason why I’m not giving one or zero stars is because the staff were very attentive and friendly. I thank God that our stay was only for 3 nights because if it were any longer I would have slept in our rental car.

The lady that worked the front desk on Aug 7th around 1pm and the 8th around 10am was not friendly. I tried calling multiple times to see if I can do early check in as that is what the agent from Red Roof Inn said I could do. No one answered the phone. When I came in, she was talking through her AirPods with someone. She didn’t explain the policy and procedure, didn’t hand a receipt no nothing. Even when I asked for a receipt she said they would give it at check out but I didn’t receive anything. Even when we checked out she asked if we were checking out, to put the keys in the box. No, have a great day or how was your stay, nothing. I’d like to think she was having a bad day but I don’t know. The room was not up to par. It was okay since it was only for one night but rather disappointing since we paid over $100 for the night. There were stains on the floor that was either blood or just hair dye. The bath tub was stained, low water pressure, dusty and the fridge door was dirty. The beds were clean but the quality of the mattress was bad, you could feel the springs. Walls were very thin, I could hear conversations from the other rooms and I can hear when they turn their shower or sink on. It gets super loud when the water is turned on. Something is wrong with the elevator! The doors would open half way then close. They when you’re in the elevator, you’re stuck on one floor for a little then it opens. Very concerning…

As me and my granddaughter came in really late one night (after 1 am) it was a relief for us that a security guard met us at the door. He then escorted us to our room to make sure we were safe. Really nice touch of service. Only complaint was that we were there for 4 days and cleaning of our room never done. Had to ask for more clean towels and cloths.

I originally booked a king size bedroom but when I got to the property, there was no king size bed available One of the beds was broken or at least not adjusted properly but other than that the room and my stay was nice

Front desk staff wasn't the friendliest. Had a difficult time getting into my room because the lock on door was not working properly. Had to get 2 more key cards. Hotel had a old, musty smell.

Property was rather old and needed to be updated. Room smelled like old cigarettes, the tv remote did not work with the TV but TV had buttons on the side so it was ok. The other lock on the door was broken so you only had one instead of two. Staff were super nice and kind. Other than the ceiling in the roof being slightly damaged the room was clean.

The bathroom was not cleaned well though, I could see a lot of hair on the corners of the floor which is pretty gross. Didn’t really investigate much, but the rate wasn’t high so I guess you get what you pay for

Upon walking in the smoke free room it smelled of smoke and there was a bag over the smoke detector so the people before me probably were smoking. The tub wasnt clean nor the toilet.

The elevator was out. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs to our room. Stairwell doors were propped open which I am pretty certain is against fire code. Also, the stairwell was filthy with stained walls, railings, and stair treads. The room was fine and comfortable.

First of all I commend the staff. They were very friendly and accomodating. My family and i were there for a cheer competition for my great granddaughter. After a 5 1/2 hr drive, we arrived aout an hour or so before check-in time. The desk clerk allowed us to check in early and waived the $25 fee. The room and bed was neat and clean. The bathroom was clean. The environment felt safe and no problems were noted. Would stay again

Although the hotel is old, it could at least be clean. The floors and hallways were in trash and dirt.

Great place to stay if you just need a place to crash for the night. Good price, clean enough, and coffee in the morning
- 1/5
No toliet paper in the room, hallway smelled awful, nobody at the desk several times at different times coffee was terrible
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly and then property was worth the value we paid.
- 1/5
Dirty bathroom, wasn’t aware there wouldn’t be microwave or a fridge and found out when I got there. When I got off the elevator when I arrived there was a fight in the hallway. Ratchet establishment, will never stay here again.
- 1/5
It was very nasty and people at desk was very unprofessional. I will never stay again. Abandoned cars in the parking lot, children running up and downs the halls. It's more like a motel. People in elevator looked high on drugs etc. it was the worst.
- 2/5
Toilet wasn’t bolted to the floor. Area felt unsafe
- 3/5
Advice have a handy man go around once a week and paint scratches on walls and doors and trim. Make a world of difference and only costs a quart of paint
- 2/5
The bathroom was really gross. Like this place needs new showers and the water pressure was a trickle. If the showers were nice we would have changed our review but it was the ugliest shower I ever saw soap scum all over no tile.

The Walnut Creek trail is right next to Red Roof Inn Plus. I did walk the trail some and found it very interesting.
- 2/5
There was mold on the wall of my room and a I had to kill a roach. Very noisy at night and the room is outdated.
- 3/5
Seems like it’s a party destination for lots of folks.I could heae the traffic outside all night, along with other people’s TVs and voices. It’s cheap though – you get what you pay for, I guess.

The service was excellent, room was clean and amenities - towels, coffee pot, TV etc - were well done. The WiFi was even fast.
- 4/5
Very quiet and close to the city
- 5/5
Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Not very much in the immediate area, but just minutes from downtown Raleigh.

The rooms were discussing the first room I was put in had a used rubber under the bed. The second room had pad stuck in between the toilet and the wall, and under the bed with a more used rubbers I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The check-in process was easy and fast, although I did have to pay $4 extra to get a room with a fridge (I assumed all rooms would have one). The staff was friendly and helpful.

First off, we booked the hotel room the day before but they wouldn't let us check in because they told us our payment didn't go through, we waited about an hour to be told they were just sending us to our room and told us they would wave the deposit, the whole time one of them was on the phone, another one was eating McDonald's and wrapped in a blanket watching tv on a tablet and laughing with another lady and making comments about people going in and out of the hotel. We get to the room and theres no microwave or mini fridge like the room we booked showed to have which we only packed frozen food, my fiance went down to the front desk because the phone didn't work, they then told him they needed to charge his card 2 times and he had to call hotels.com to get a refund and bambled on about some random things, they had us switch rooms to one with a microwave and fridge but it felt like we had to beg for it. We got up to the room and the whole place smelled like weed, there was a pizza box open in the middle of the hallway, and the room had bugs on the window, the "clean and new" cups smelled like mouthwash and when we showered water got all over the floor. We had to rush to get ready for our concert, we came back to the hotel around 11 and we are tired and have things to carry, they call us over and have us pay the deposit they told us not to worry about earlier. We chose a cheaper hotel because we dont have much money but we couldn't enjoy ourselves because we were worried.

The property smelled horrible and the elevator was in horrible conditions. Scratches all over wall and the rug smelled dampen. Microwave was broken and the TV was dated. No usb charger in the entire room. Door lock was shabby...

Hotel was clean. staff was nice.Paid for a premium room really didn't see much difference than a regular room , there was coffee maker but said there was snacks . They were not provided.
- 2/5
Whole place smelled bad. You can tell any repairs were done cheaply as possible. Overall the condition of the place is just shy of being abandoned.

Nice place to stay

Only if you’re desperate. I tried to save a few bucks for a quick trip and regretted it. I’ve stayed at other Red Roof properties and they were fine.

Be sure to see us next year for the Caribbean Festival in August again!

We had no linens on the bed, dirty towels left in bathroom, parking lot smelled like weed, people hanging around being shady and yelling at the staff and the evening check in girl was extremely rude when we asked for a comforter.

- 3/5
Customer service was awesome, but has improved over the years
- 5/5
Reception and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The front staffed was able to help us whenever we had an issue and the room was perfect. The cleaning staff was very polite and thorough when cleaning our room. The quality of the hotel is perfect. Was here last year, was here this year and will definitely return here next year
- 3/5
Customer service was poor and it shower did not have a shower curtain. The front door and bathroom door both didn’t shut unless you slammed it shut. The remote to the tv didn’t work well.

People appeared to be living in the stairs area's along with people sleeping in their vehicle's more than 2 day's in back of parking area. We left 1 night early and still paid.

Dirty pillow cases, black hairs on the sheets, and very rude check in

The carpet in my room was somehow both sticky and greasy. Half of the vending machines in the hotel just take your money and don’t dispense anything. The only “luxury” they offer is free coffee from 6 am - noon, and every time I went to get some the machines were empty, with staff actively ignoring me as I pumped empty machines within their eyeline. When I checked in, the woman at the counter took my name, typed for a minute, pointed at the card reader with my total and walked away without explaining anything. I stayed here for three nights. Every time I went back to my room both of my key cards did not work and I had to wait in line at the front desk to have them reset. The water pressure in the shower was nice though. Unfortunately the same was true with the bathroom sink, to the point where the counter (and you) get soaked as soon as you turn it on. Don’t fall for the “cheap room close to downtown.” Just splurge on the Holiday Inn or something. There aren’t even sidewalks on Saunders Street to get downtown easily.

everywhere smelled, especially at the end of floor near stairs smelled like marijuana actual room was well appointed and comfortable

My husband and I stayed overnight. The room was clean and quiet. The AC unit worked great (it was 101 that day). The front desk staff were professional and helpful.

Mikayla at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Inexpensive spot to stay for one night, close to Red Hat Amphitheater.

Please do not stay at this hotel. It was truly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was not clean. Everything smelled like mildew. Had to go buy wipes and spray to clean it myself. No consistent cleaning crew. Elevators and doors sounded like they were going to malfunction. Room doors were hard to open and shut. The shower water pressure was terrible. Subpar guest services. Some of the front desk staff wasn't very friendly. The only redeeming factor was that my AC kept the room cold, but even that seems to be inconsistent. My friend said that his barely helped with his room temperature.
- 2/5
the staff at the front when we checked in wasnt very friendly, not even a greeting. our initial room had the beds flipped over so we had to go back and get another room which was fine, but very low quality and dirty. The manager did provide a very small discount for the inconvenience of the room but offered no refund or cancelation option so we had to stick it out in a less than par hotel for 2 nights. Definitely wont be staying again.
- 4/5
Basic hotel, but clean and safe, with easy car access.
