The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly, helpful staff, particularly at the front desk. However, the most common complaint is about the noise level, especially on weekends, due to the hotel's proximity to bars and restaurants. Guests also appreciate the convenient, walkable location in downtown Raleigh.

The hotel was clean and neat and had a nice corner room, but it was noisy as my room faced the club across the street. The hotel does provide earplugs and a white noise machine and fellow hotels.com reviewers and the hotel itself in the lobby warn about the noise. Biggest issue that could have really ruined my entire trip was the front desk attendant who checked me in. I needed to use their parking garage across the street, and the card they gave me did not scan properly at the garage and directed me to contact the operator, so in my rental car, I had to dangerously back the car out of the single lane and into the traffic on a busy city street. When I went back to the attendant, she had a bit of an attitude, and intimated that I was in the system, but then she scanned the same card and gave the same card back to me, and then the card scanned properly across the street. When she checked me in, she was also on the phone, so I don’t know if she accidentally did not scan the card or if it’s a computer issue, but either way that could present a real problem to your guests and present a perilous situation. The front desk attendant was NOT Tianna, she was really sweet and checked me out. Your other hotel employees that I encountered were courteous at all times, and you need to investigate why that happened or you could be a contributing party to an accident. I was pissed when I saw the parking charge go through.

The staff are so so nice and helpfu.l.They each went above and beyond. They were also so friendly. The hotel is in a great location. So many restaurants and bars in walking distance. The pool was closed when we were there and each day we asked if the firepit could be put on and no one could do it which was a big bummer. We were hoping to enjoy wine out on the patio area (which is really cute!). Overall we were very happy with our stay and the hotel for the price.

We did have a room that faced the bar scene and the one night it was loud but they acknowledged this at check in and give you a white noise machine and earplugs. The lobby is open and inviting. The staff were all very friendly and available. We were shocked by the sign notifying us that it is loud in the rooms, and that there were earplugs and white noise machines in each room. I was stressed about that, but then at night it was not that bad. There was only a little noise around 2 am- seems like when the bars all close and people head to the parking garage across the street. The pool was closed, which would’ve been nice to know in advance. The noise potential and pool closure notification should be shared, even if it is an Expedia booking. All in all I’d stay here again. We walked to Dix Park and there were so many restaurants to choose from. The coffee and breakfast were on brand, dependable and fresh. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean.

Liked that the rooms were clean, and the beds were remade while we was out sight seeing. Surprisingly with it being St Patrick's day, it wasn't very loud from surrounding bars/clubs. I was expecting way worse. Plus getting to see the trains go by was pretty cool. Quite a few things we didnt like 1) We didn't realize we had to pay to park in their parking garage across the street. Up front was $110 but then was dropped down to $60 after we left. The $110 stayed pending until after we left. This was on top of already paying $400 for the room for 2 nights. 2) We was told to just drop our room key off at the front desk when we left, we left right before 11 am. The checkout time on my bill says 11:30 am. 3) I booked this specific one for the indoor pool, and when I had booked it in early February, the pool was open. When we got there it was closed for maintenance. Kid was thoroughly disappointed that she wouldn't get to swim in the pool on her birthday. 4) I was charged for supposedly taking a charging block from the room. We did not see any hotel provided charging blocks when we went in the room, and only took what was ours when we left. There was also another $10 and $5 charge on my card that when I called the place, the lady could not seem to figure out what those two charges were for. I'm not going to A)pay for something I didn't take, and B)pay for imaginary charges. Final word, we won't be booking at this location again. Next time ill save $150 and book an Air B&B

Very clean room and great breakfast Very, very noisy. Not a family friendly hotel. Much better for more of a... parting crowd I would say. We asked to switch to another room. Maybe one not so close to the bar street atmosphere outside our room window with noise and base boom so very loud til after 2am even on a Sunday night. I was informed there was nothing and that they could give ear plug and a box fan to drown out the noise. AC also didn't work right. Even though the did send a maintenance man to the room very quickly. It still didn't work correctly. Also we stayed 2 nights/3 days and never had any room service come to clean. Also if you stay please make sure to clean in first be parking. You will need a special pass to park in there parking area. The hotel was clean and our room was clean. It is a bit on the smaller side of rooms but did have a microwave and small refrigerator. I personally would not go again with having kids.

Beautiful property - well kept & maintained, amazing service staff. Parking across the street in a commercial lot which typically has places available. The bar directly across the street plays VERY LOUD music/rap/dance till all hours of early morning. Big bass!! The noise was an unwelcome annoyance that just didn't stop. Love the property....HATE the noise.

Great stay for NYE on Glenwood. Right next to tons of night life and dog friendly. Parking is fairly easy as you check in first and then park across the street in the parking garage labeled with the Hampton Inn placards. It is a shared public lot with specific parking for hotel guests only.

I can’t believe a hotel prides itself on being someplace you won’t get any sleep but this one does. Surrounded by bars and nightclubs and muffler less cars and motorcycles, from midnight to 3a each night just know you won’t sleep regardless how loud the noise machine given by the hotel is. It’s clean and the service was good. Just know you won’t sleep during the night and the hotel is okay with that.

Shout out to Lily and Be at the front desk. My husband is in a wheelchait and they both came to with him and luggage. While i parked, spose received cup of fresh coffee and good company. They are both a testament to good customer relations and extraordinary women! Room was spotless. The only complaint was for a person in a wheelchair to be put on the 6th floor. If there is a fire, you cant get out. Thank you

I am sorry I have to rate my one-night stay here as poor, and here are the reasons why. Reception was friendly enough, and parking across the street was safe and convient, but the good news ends there. There was a pervasive and everlasting odor of burnt coffee in the lobby. After finally falling into a deep sleep, I was awakened at 1 AM by a blaring fire alarm with strobe lights flashing everywhere. I hurriedly donned some clothes and stumbled to the lobby, where the night staff immediately announced it as a false alarm, even while firemen were already there, and seemed to shrug it off as just another Tuesday, without a hint of apology. The worst part is that it took at least a half hour to turn to the alarm and strobe lights off. I think all the guests who had the misfortune to spend the night of 11/4/25 there should get refunds to compensate for loss of a night's sleep.

The billing system is terrible. Charged my account dailoy for parking and charged again so now I have to call them and get it straight. Charged for incidentals went arrived ($50) but didn't spend anything and told me i HAD TO WAIT 3-4 BUSINESS DAYS TIL THE DOLLARES Were credited back to my charge card. The NOISY level from the street was terrible. Will never stay there again and your reviews of this hotel should reflect that the noise on weekends make it so you can't sleep and they know it since they give your ear plugs. I don't ever want to stay somewhere were I need to wear earplugs.

You are asked prior to check-in if the late night noise is a problem and offered ear plugs and a noise machine (on weekends it goes until 3am guaranteed). Since this hotel is located in the “entertainment” district, it is noisy. But again, you are fair-warned. Front desk staff was exceptional, although not sure how much overnight parking was…must have been $100 per night to get the rate I was quoted on Expedia to line up. Expensive!

The only downsides were that you can definitely hear the music from nearby bars/clubs in the room, which might bother light sleepers, and the extra $20 parking fee felt unnecessary. It would be nice if parking was included with the room. Overall, though, it was a great stay for a fun night out, and we loved being able to walk everywhere!

Stay was great! Enjoyed the privacy of my room. Location of hotel is perfect for those without a car, for you can walk to stores, pharmacies, bars and food joints within less than 20 minutes. In terms of cleanliness, bathroom shower could have used more detailed cleaning around the support handle and the top and bottom of shower door. Otherwise, room was very neat and clean and smelled wonderful!

I actually had a great experience at this hotel and was going to choose that hotel to stay at again when coming back to Raleigh. However, after coming back home I noticed that I was charged $250.00 for a smoking fee. There was 100% no smoking in the room. The only evidence they could provide was a bag of guts in a trash bag inside of the trash can. I was informed that it could not be refunded back to me after that was no evidence to prove smoking was done in the room. Now, I will never stay there again!

We stayed here for a night out on the time. It was in perfect walking distance from where we went out in Raleigh, which made it that much more perfect. The only reason why I would give this hotel 4 stars is because our invoice said checkout was "noon". However, they were knocking on our door our 11:00 and said check out was 11. When I showed her the email, she stated that Expedia gives the wrong time and would not honor the 12. We hadn't even showered and gotten ready yet, so it was quite an inconvenience. However, everything else was perfect. Even though the street was busy with party goers, the hotel was super quiet once you entered.

Out of 3 elevators only 1 worked and was used by children playing on it most of the night. We couldnt enjoy the bar for kids running around everywhere. We tried to dine at the resturant but again ruined by kids and teens running thru the tables to get to the fountain drink machine. The pool had over 21 unsupervised kids squirting water guns and running everywhere. We ended up going to another venue by your shuttle van to enjoy some quiet time. This place was a disgrace and desk help did nothing to stop all this chaos.

The property and the staff are amazing. The place was clean and the staff was very attentive. But party houses around the hotel make much noise late at night. The staff did well warning us about it and noting that earbuds were available in the room for us to use. I'd advise if anyone has problems to sleep to ask for a room that is not close to that side of the building.

The hotel is gorgeous, BUT in an area with 40 bars within a mile and it is loud. So loud the hotel leaves you EARPLUGS! Run away from this hotel the noise level is crazy loud and kept us up until 2am when the bars closed! No earplug could quiet that racket!

Very clean and spacious property. Told at check in this property is in the “heart of the entertainment center” and, with that, don’t expect noise level to go down until after 2am. Ear plugs were already in room and white noise machine was provided at check in.

Late evening check in. First thing I notice on the table is ear plugs. The club/bar is directly outside the room and went until 2am. If you are there for business and actually need sleep, might not be the spot.

Desk staff was top notch- very helpful! One area of cleanliness and two for safety kept this from a 5-star review: Room closet had a musty smell; the front doors were not locked w/ room key access only as stated on a sign outside- when we entered shortly after midnight on two separate nights, we had people (guests? trespassers?) follow us inside- no issue w/ these people, but felt uncomfortable as no way of knowing if they belonged there or not; and one of the above nights, parking in the garage after midnight and having to drive to the uppermost deck to find a space, passed a party going w/about six young men drinking beer outside a couple of cars- as noted above upon entering the hotel, there was no incident w/these people, but a VERY uncomfortable feeling, especially since where we parked we were within sight of these men upon leaving our car. These issues with the front door and loitering in the garage NEED TO BE ADDRESSED.

Here to drop off an incoming NCstate student. Location was 2 miles to campus. Comfortable room, staff was so friendly, plentiful breakfast with yummy birthday waffles, garage parking available for a fee. Front desk staff at check in let me know there were lots of bars in the area and to expect noise and that ear plugs were provided in room as well as white noise machine. I really appreciated the honesty and a heads up but was pleasantly surprised that I heard NOTHING on a Wednesday night and had a great nights sleep. Keep up the good work. Ya'll remind me of chic filet: efficient, excellent product, I know what to expect at every hampton and am never let down!

The Hotel actually provides earplugs and white-noise machines to every room, along with a sheet that basically warns you won't get any sleep there. I overheard the people in front of me requesting "the quiet side of the hotel," so I did also. Still loud. It's a party block.

The hotel is located amongst many late night bars for young single people and people celebrating graduations, sorority/frat events, bachelor/bachelorette nights etc. The hotel offers white-noise machines and earplugs to some guests and asks do you want a room on the "quiet" side or the other side?

The hotel was the perfect location for us - close to the person we were visiting. However, it's a mixed blessing. It is close to all of the fun nightlife Raleigh offers, but you can hear it all in your room. They provide earplugs they really weren't enough to block out the music and festivities. We will stay here again but with better noise protection!

I stayed at this Hampton numerous times for work over a few month span. All of the employees were very polite and the hotel was always very clean. Can get a little noisy with the local bars but they are upfront about it and you are in Downtown!
