Staff was nice, but the place and location is NOT good. Place does not feel safe, unfortunately. The rooms also need to be updated and better cleaning.

I made reservations Wednesday to Thursday and they had me checking in Thursday at 3 i had to go to another hotel for a room

Absolutely awful property. Was given a room that smelled like vomit and was filthy, with visible dirt on the floor and walls. Two tiny pillows were placed on a bed that looked lived in. It was unacceptable and we were given the last available room. We, two nonsmokers, were placed in a smoking room so thick with the odor, we could barely stand it. Bed was fairly hard with two tiny, inadequate pillows and a thin sheet. The walkways and stairwells were filthy and smelled of urine and unstable with rusted stair treads. On a positive note, the WiFi, shower, TV and A/C worked well.

Parking lot needed a little makeover the pool was in a state of repair was not usable trash was piled up next to the dumpster perhaps a nother dumpster or a bigger one? Overall it was a good experience theye are just a couple of things i noticed i was only there overnight

The staff cool as hell . But drug users are all over the place. Fights and loud music outside my door. Couldn't sleep .. Someone room over me u can hear everything and I mean everything.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. It was covered in homeless people. It was dirty. There were no pillow cases on the bed nor a blanket. There was a nail sticking out of the wall. Someone shot a gun next door in the middle of the night. It was terrible. I was genuinely scared for my life.

Stay away from this property if you are traveling to Portsmouth. The property is filled with long-term residents with a cast of characters from skid row. Some folks were smoking pot under the staircase going to the second floor. Between 3:30-4:00 AM, concert volume rap filled with expletives was blasted through out the compound. Consequent irritability caused by Lack of sleep from the loud music must have been the reason the residents started arguing almost continuously outside our door from 7 AM. Not the type of drama we were looking for on our vacation! We gave our microwave perhaps its first cleaning ever. The shower curtains were covered in mildew and the bathroom door was broken.

The stay was good. Me and wife wanted to get away. This was what we needed. At checking in was a little problem but the manager was very helpful. My room was $145.50 for 2 nights. But for all the mistakes. They charge us only $98.00 So I'm waiting on $47.50. That's the difference. Thanks for everything.

I cannot tell you how scary this place was. Literally, there were drug dealers and addicts swarming the campus from the time I checked in, to 1 am when I returned from my business engagement. If I were you, I would not list this hotel on your site. I had to step over addicts passed out on the steps and was being watched by multiple people, not guests, whenever I got into and out of my vehicle. It was mortifying.

The lady that works in the office is the best part about this hotel. She's very nice and understanding. The first thing I noticed when I pulled up was the amount of people outside; most were smoking weed and some were walking around aimlessly, obviously high. Someone was playing loud music from their car. After getting to my room; I noticed that the latch to lock the door was missing so I went to request another room; which was granted. After entering that room, I noticed that there was hair all over the sink and dog urine on the floor. At that point, I was over it so I asked for a refund. The manager had an attitude but he gave me my money back. One thing to note is that you have to pay a $25 refundable pet deposit.

The room had dirty towels, TV didn't work, shower knob kept falling off, bed head board was loose and broken. This was room 211. In 5 days the room was never cleaned, trash never taken out, and never any fresh towels. I actually went out and bought some because the ones provided were filthy. Sketchy people partying, playing loud music all hours of the night. Trash was shattered everywhere outside.

I liked that we had somewhere to lay our heads. The lady that checked us in was nice. However, she had no clue about booking.com and the code that was supposed to be used to make check in easier and more seamless. She actually tried to charge my card for the entire stay over, even though I had told her It was booked already. Thankfully the card I handed her only had just enough for the deposit. The shower curtain was too short, water easily splashed out. The TV only has 1 channel, and it was in Spanish. The pillow case had mold spores, the "kitchen area" sockets didn't work, so we had to bring the microwave over to the other side of the room, in order to use it. I just would not book this place ever again. We booked it for convenience, but never again.

Worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. Very scary part of town. The pool covered with tarp in August. Charged $50 deposit after paying for room online. Only 1 pillow on 2 full beds. The air conditioning hardly worked. Bathroom door wouldn’t even close. Shower and tub too dirty and rusty to use. TV would not turn off. I could go on but you get the idea, find another place to stay!

Everything. It was a hangout for drug dealers & their customers. People stayed up all night making noise so we couldnt sleep. Couldnt wait til 5am so we could leave. Worst location ever. Will NEVER book with them again. People put up lies about these hotels and 4 & 5 star ratings which are lies. DONT believe all those hyped up ratings & lies!

I spent 3 months traveling across the country couple years ago. I stayed at a few Motel 6 and they were all fine places. This was not the case at this Motel 6! Upon seeing it on the street the Motel 6 sign was decrepit, the pool had a tarp over it as if it was winter(it’s August!). The check in was exceedingly slow. I found later when I got an alert from Citi bank that a charge of $69.47 was made by the front desk clerk tho had already paid thru Hotels.com. Went back to the office in evening and night person said the earlier clerk had credited it! HE NEVER TOLD ME WHAT HE HAD DONE! Also of course I haven’t seen the credit yet! I have filed a dispute with Citi. Also the clerk asked for a $50 deposit. A reputable hotel does not do that!! Of course I haven’t seen that credit either! The room: oh boy! It was clean however it had nothing in it! A large bed with two tiny pillows, one small kitchen type chair, no chest of drawers, no hangers, and no ice bucket! And the tv was a mess! A very helpful woman came by to work on it but the fix did not last long no matter what I did. In sum a perfect room for monk! I would suggest Hotel.com STOP listing this place!! The only good thing(and why I chose it) is that it is walking distance to Olde Towne and downtown restaurants. But while there I noticed others nearby that gave the appearance of a MUCH BETTER establishment!

My family booked 2 rooms one for my Aunt who experienced a terrible night. It’s a good thing she and her fiance were together or else she may have had a heart attack. Someone at her door was knocking and also the windows. When she saw a guy wearing black around 11;00pm and then another guy knocked around 1&2:00am! When she called the frontdesk the lady said just don’t open the door. And when I confirmed with her around 3:00am she said she did not see anyone at their cctv.

Unfortunately the property is a bit sketchy. The rooms say smoke free but smell of intense stale tobacco. Wasn’t worth the savings.

I booked two rooms, one is for my Aunt who is 64 years old. She got so horrified when some started knocking on her door at around 12 midnight until 2:30 am three different persons! They also knocked on the window. She take a peek and saw “a scary man” she described she called the front desk but the lady said she did not see anyone thru the cctv but she called the police.

The only bad thing about this stay is that I was charged when I got there after paying on the app and when trying to explain this to the front desk person she wasn’t trying to hear me.

Really just booked this room because it was cheap. Not sure if a it’s temporary shelter but it was people chillin outside their rooms like we were in the hood. One got was in the stairwell scared the creep outta me bummin for change. The motel have real shady, junkie vibes..

Location was ok. Not far from friends I was visiting. The room smelled of smoke and there was a continuous leak above the toilet. I had to place a trash can to catch the water or whatever it was coming from the ceiling. I was told there were no more rooms available.

To be honest we never again will my family and I stay in hotel falsely advertise about how the rooms look. The manager placed us in a room that was suppose to be out of service, NO POOL it was covered, room wasn't cleaned, toilet lid had to be removed to flush, only 1 channel (CNN) on the TV, dirty kitchen, mold smell in room, furniture old, cracks in floors, air conditioner lid was off, drug users hanging out in front of rooms all night (talking, yelling and cooking on grills in front of rooms. My second room for my grand kids was so bad I had to have them moved and they room wasn't any better The hotel owner should be forced to remodeling or shut it down. It's really for drug users

This was the worst experience I have had at a hotel/motel. When I arrived in the room, I had been traveling so I went straight to the bathroom. The tub faucet was dripping heavily. I tried to turn the faucet off, but that did not stop the dripping. I went to the office and told the front desk person about this and he told me that it was OK. I explained that no it was not because I would have to sleep with that dripping noise. He then asked if I had done anything in the room. Being a bit confused by this question, I stated I had only gone to the bathroom and that’s how I had discovered the dripping faucet. He then stated he could just put me in another room. Upon entering this new room, the TV was on but the volume was almost off. I tried to change the channel, and turn the volume up, but the remote did not work. The TV was mounted on the wall, and I am short, so I couldn’t reach any biting on the tv. I did not feel safe here. I was in town to visit my son and his family so I went to his home and returned close to midnight. Upon entering the room for the night, I saw a roach and killed it and then saw another one in the bathroom. Coming out of the bathroom, I went to adjust the air and saw another roach. I went back to the bed and saw a fourth roach between the beds. I should have left then, but it was too late at night. I could hear people outside all night. It seemed like a place where people were living. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Nothing Crackheads dealing drugs in the parking lot all night long. What appeared to be homeless people lurking around every corner. Yelling and fighting all night. Every time we walked out the door beggars rushing up to us wanting something. Pool closed. No hot water in room. Inside manual lock on door broken. Trash in parking lot. We left 2 days early. Couldn’t take it any more. Stayed in hundreds of hotels all over this country and others. This is THE WORST place we have ever stayed. Only positive..the people working the front desk were very nice.

Extremely dirty smelly place. Looks like a homeless shelter. I walked in and out of the room. And of course they kept my money.

When I reached room around 7.30 pm, they said room is yet to clean and will take one hour at least. But ideally room check-in should be at 3 pm.I went to shopping and also finished dinner instead of waiting at lobby. When I back around 9.30 pm, the room lock was not opening and they called technician and given the room around 10.50 pm. The room condition is very bad, lot of cockroaches in the room and bathroom was very dirty

This place is a dump. The room was gross. Paint peeling from the walls. It smelled like smoke. There was NO HOT WATER!!! Not a good place to stay even for the price. Awful experience.

It’s a non-smoking room but it’s smell smoke and stinky, and garbage scattered everywhere

The door didn’t even have working locks. The area is full of intoxicated people. At some point there was a man knocking on every door. We will NEVER stay here again.

We didn't use the hotel. We drove through the parking lot and realized it wasn't in good shape and didnt look clean. It was after the check-in time, and realized id be charged even it i cancelled, so i just took the loss.

The outside looks very run down, but the room was clean and bed was comfortable.

Our first room, the shower didnt work, moved us to the next room over, the Air Conditioner didnt work. In total i was there for 3 hours, left at 11pm. Highly doubt ill get refunded

it was very unclean. the room reeked of cigarettes. lots of broken things in the room. outside of property was displeasing to say the least. when i checked out 20 minutes after i checked in, the woman at the desk was repeatedly asking me personal questions that made me have concern for my safety.

Would not recommend check in is at 3 was not able to check in to my room until 530 unsafe area including “residents” save your money and stay elsewhere

When we first arrived, we were given a room in which was occupied by another customer staying at the hotel. We were told that the people hadn’t cleaned the room, mind you the people stuff was still in there. After given the room beside it, we had problems with infestation the whole time, plus I am partially handicapped on my left side so wasn’t able to use the bathroom shower as it wasn’t accessible.

Worst experience ever in a hotel. Holes and cigarette burns in the pillows and blankets. I was attacked by bed bugs all over my neck face and hands.

I had a family illness emergency the day before my planned trip. I, and Hotels.com agents, tried contacting the hotel to request waiver of the cancellation fee (starting ~430p) , given the situation, to no avail. I tried calling repeatedly until 10a on the day of anticipated arrival; I, nor Hotels.com agent could never get a desk clerk. I ultimately forfeiting the 1st night's fee..... I'm very disappointed with the hotel and Hotels.com.....

I didn't like anything about this motel. There were giant roaches, maggots on the bathroom floor and bed bugs so bad that we ended up in the ER where we were told by the Dr to get out immediately.

Was a quick and easy last minute reservation and for what it was the room was clean and spacious

Property is very run down, No amenities at all coffee machine and lobby, but no cups, coffee or condiments. I suspect drug dealing out of one of the rooms. Very disappointed, expected more from a Motel 6.

The staff was extremely rude. The property was disgusting!! We were put in a room that hadn't been cleaned, when we complained about it we were handed 'clean' sheets and told to clean the room ourselves. We were never given clean towels or a blanket. I wouldn't recommend this place for anywhere

Check-in, Employees, Parking, Location are all amazing. Cleanliness is a bit questionable with stains on sheets, cigarette burn holes in blanket, stains on ceiling and walls, cracked tiles in bathroom, noisy hvac unit. All in all, you should expect to get what you pay for at this Motel 6

It was beyond perfect. The staff went way above and beyond to help me out in a very bad situation. I missed my train home and nowhere to stay. They helped me out so much and made my night a little better. Thank you all!!! If I ever come back this is were I'll be staying from now on! 🙂 100/10 😂

The place is a little run down. All of the pillows have yellow sweat stains and flat. The floors in the room was dirty. There was no shampoo or conditioner. The towels are very limited and thin/dry. I have better towels to wash my dog. Me and my son experienced bug bits after staying. For $100-ish a night its a nightmare. Spend that extra $30 and treat your self to a place that still has quality in mind. It seems this place only caters to the street workers and tired old men.

Stayed for a weekend. It was ok but definitely needs some work. The ac didn't really work good so if you need ac to get buy this isnt the place. The beds definitely need an upgrade! It was like sleeping in the floor. They was hard as a rock and need improvement asap! The people who ran it were amazing! Overall not a bad place for a short stay but needs improvements!

Kind front desk, nightmarish rooms

I did not receive the room with a kinnette, they still charged me a non smoking room when it suppose to have smoking for the extra charge.

I hate to leave a bad review, especially because the staff were so nice!! I chose this stay because of the pet policy (2 free dogs). However, I was unfamiliar with the location and should have rethought booking at this location. I felt a little unsafe staying here with my dogs and did not once take them out on the property. We drove our dogs across the street to let them go to the bathroom. This is no fault of the hotel but one of the guests in the room above us was screaming late at night into the morning hours and was arrested. Waking up to screaming/ yelling and 3 police cars made for a very stressful night. No hot water at the time of one of my showers and limited towels. The staff is the only saving grace of this review they were nice, polite and professional. I recommend spending the extra $$ if you’re traveling with pets and avoiding this location.

Property was not well maintained. Our shower had hair and mold around the bottom of it. The sink was clogged and would not drain. We did not feel safe staying here so we left and stayed at another hotel.

Sandra the night attendant was very kind & welcoming. The room itself was ok. We only stopped to sleep but the restroom didnt have any shampoo or conditioner . There wasnt a trash can in the bathroom & the water would pool up in the tub. Bed was comfortable.

The hotel was clean and my room was huge the hotel was getting some work done the only thing I didn’t like is they started early in the morning and woke me up but I will stay there again!

When I got to the hotel at 3pm both of my rooms weren't ready. Me and my kids were tierd from the long drive and still our rooms werent ready until about 5pm. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and not once was our room cleaned or our sheets changed. The room came with a kitchen and no dishes or pots.That wasnt told to me when I called to inquire about them room. So I brought all this food but couldn't cook it. Pictures and descriptions of the room showed that it came with a full refrigerator which also was a lie. I also called and asked and was told theu do but both room only had a mini fridge. The only good thing was the size and space. The staff were nice but the overall service was trash.

CONS: it appears and I could totally be wrong that perhaps they just bought the property because they were so nice and the property was super clean but there were cigarette burns everywhere, the mattress for the couch bed looked and smelled like a sewer pool and it appears people were living at the hotel with Large groups of noisy people kids’ bikes dogs barbecues all around All that being said if I was in the area I would stay there again because I expect that they will make it better very soon

Let's say I checked in and even though the front desk was accommodating, I checked out before the night was out.

I had to pay $10 for my girlfriend. Next the room was nasty . Floors were dirty towels were thread bare. i couldnt wait for my stay to be over
