Reviews
The Woodlark Hotel is a beautifully decorated and well-maintained property with friendly and helpful staff. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, clean rooms, and excellent food and drink options. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the surrounding area, the lack of amenities in the rooms, and the high cost of valet parking.
- Beautiful decor and well-maintained property
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Surrounding area can be unsafe and noisy
- Lack of amenities in the rooms (e.g. coffee maker, robes)

Very nice room and cool lobby for coffee and breakfast in the morning! We were attending a class reunion so we didn’t spend a lot of time at the facility but it was perfect and relaxing! Will likely stay here again!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a great location! Rooms are very well appointed and *spotless*, including floors, upholstery, and shower. Bed and linens were comfy, quick access to public transport, easy walking to shops and restaurants. Remarkably quiet, and hotel provides both earplugs and a bedside sound machine for light sleepers. Super helpful front desk staff, too! 10/10 will stay here next time I’m in town

Had a wonderful stay at Woodlark hotel! Loved the decor and ambience in the hotel rooms. Easy valet service available . Liked the Zenology amenities@@
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, beautiful building, nice walkable area, and WONDERFUL bed!
- 5/5
Really nice hotel, excellent rooms if you upgrade to the slightly bigger corner ones. Regular ones can be a bit small. Brilliant coffee bar downstairs.
- 5/5
We regularly stay at the Woodlark for the location. It’s expensive so we keep a lookout for when their rates are lower than their typical price. The beds are super comfortable. The soap and lotions are divine. It’s downtown in a safe area. It’s easy to access other parts of Portland by car from here. We self park at a relatively near parking garage on 10th which is much cheaper than the valet service.
- 5/5
Very beautiful, clean, modern hotel. We loved everything about it.
- 5/5
Amazing staff!!

Great experience
- 5/5
Great hotel, felt very luxurious. Gave us 2 free breakfasts and coffees at the hotel, coffee was great. Very nice amenities. Great location many restaurants and cafes around to explore.

Excellent Boutique Hotel … the restaurant was fantastic.. excellent server…
- 1/5
Parking was $60 valet or street parking and the street parking was limited. Walked in to wine spilled in the elevator and on my floor outside the elevator. Was told to swipe my card for deposit (had already paid in full thru Hotels.com). I used nothing in the room and they charged me $77 on top of everything I already paid and called it a “destination fee.” They must’ve snuck that in some extremely fine print somewhere. Whether it was the hotel or this app, idk, but it’s frustrating and bogus to get that charge. The place was already overpriced with no AC.
- 4/5
There are definitely some slapped on repairs in the rooms and the rooms are really small. But I thought the location and amenities were great! And I enjoyed the view from our room. We lost an item and the hotel was not helpful. They sent me to an app that the hotel never responded to. And that gave me a less of a good experience.

Really enjoyed our stay. Great location and super friendly and welcoming staff!

Was able to order food and have it delivered from restaurant to lobby- super helpful staff getting ice packs from the freezer over and over again/ I had a surgery I was recovering from during my stay- they were so kind to bring over tea and mocktails during the day- lovely hot coffee and breakfast burritos each am
- 5/5
Great location in terms of accessing what you might want to do all over Portland. Staff was phenomenal. All good and drink options on site were great. Room was clean and comfortable, will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
I stay there for the first time last weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Beautiful, spacious room, more toiletries than other hotels. Greeted with a complementary martini! Opening the door for me and bell hop service. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I will be back.
- 4/5
They did not tell us that they were going to put a $125 deposit. They just charged my credit card the next day. I am still waiting for the credit
- 5/5
Excellent room and courteous staff
- 5/5
By far my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Love the mid century modern design.
- 5/5
Well done, all around Woodlark staff. From start to finish, our stay was amazing. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Front desk staff was able to upgrade our room for our 15th anniversary. The coffee was perfect. But our absolute favorite, was Abigail Hall. Out of all our Portland bites, we still talk about the food at this spot! Service was incredible too. Can’t wait to return :)

Everything was beautiful thank you!

Front staff and valets were very courteous!!! Amenities were very limited in terms of hanging space and drawers to put clothes. There was only one. also, once we had to remind them to clean our room after a two night sstay.

This is my favorite property in Portland. It’s my go to when I come back over and over again. Every time I stay somewhere else I have an instant regret. I did this time we stayed somewhere else. It was supposed to be a five star hotel, and boy did it disappoint when I came here. I felt like I was coming back home. I love the lobby. I love the bar and the restaurant. I love the front desk. I love all the little details that go into this hotel.

Very disappointing stay We were very disappointed with our stay. The room was much smaller than it looked in the photos, and there was no city view — just a wall outside the window. We had booked a room with breakfast included, but when we arrived, they told us we had to pay extra for breakfast, which was unfair. On top of that, the front desk staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse. Overall, it did not match the description on Booking, and we would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern. Very comfortable bed and stylish rooms. Good value for your money.

Loved everything about the hotel. the location the staff were amazing!! the only mild complaint i had is that every morning the doors would slam but i can't tell if that was other guests or housekeeping. i can't blame anyone it was just noisy when im trying to sleep in a lil. definitely would book the hotel again!!!

Boutique hotel in downtown Portland complete with coffee shop, restaurant & bar
- 5/5
Gorgeous property and the staff are always amazing and helpful
- 5/5
I love this hotel! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the on-site bar, restaurant and coffee shop were all top notch.
- 2/5
They charged me double for my room and I couldn’t do anything in the city because of it. Had no access to my money and still don’t. The room the entire wall where the headboard was no outlets worked to charge anything. Next door there was construction in room 621 it was an adjoining room so we kept thinking someone was breaking in and the room was propped open the entire time. The staff was nice enough but only in person not great on the phone. Which the phone in the room 620 didn’t work I told them night one and it didn’t work day 3 still. So hopefully if you stay don’t have any issues. Will and David were great my first night! I got charged for double my full stay after night one. Expedia charged and then the hotel charged me. Completely ruined my partners 40th bday trip.
- 4/5
The location was great and the room was comfortable. There was a dance party with a DJ next to our side of the building that lasted until 11pm Saturday night. It was very loud.

Beautiful lobby. Great property.

Was over charged with fees and valet

We were extremely disappointed in this "boutique" hotel. Important to call out that it is owned by Marriott and very much felt like a chain hotel. I love staying at boutique hotels because of their personality and fun amenities this hotel had neither. The rooms didn't even have a coffee machine in them, we were told later we could have requested one which is absurd they should be in the rooms. We tried their bar and it was a very nice. For breakfast the cafe was very disappointing, luckily the hotel across the street served a lovely breakfast. There was not a single place we were able to walk to from hotel. Overall this property felt like Marriott's attempt to slap the word "boutique" on a hotel and use it as an excuse to nickel and dime you.
- 4/5
Nice place. Gym in the basement and smallish. Room was good but not great. No closet to store clothes easily. Great smart mirror in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Such a clean and cute hotel. Staff was always helpful and kind!
- 5/5
Love staying here while in Portland, everything Is walkable and the hotel is super cute!

- 5/5
Beautiful place, wish I could stay longer. Would stay again!
- 5/5
adorable hotel! Clean and comfy. Felt very nice in the lobby too. Coffee stand in the lobby was excellent too.
- 5/5
Great property! Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and cams of water were provided. The valet/doormen were pleasant and always friendly. The coffee shop in the lobby was really convenient as well. Great location, easily walkable to fantastic shopping and dining options. The second hand store on the corner was a fun place to shop too. Uber/lyft was always just a few minutes out. Nothing negative about this hotel or its location. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Excellent first visit to the Woodlark. The whole team at the hotel were incredibly friendly and the premises/dining options were amazing. Beautiful rooms with good attention to detail. Will stay everyone in Portland!
- 5/5
Great place!!
- 2/5
No bellhop service. Coffee area does not open until 7. TV did not get March Madness tournament!!! Outrageous.
- 5/5
Second time staying at Woodlark. The fantastic staff and simplistic vibes make this hotel a great place to stay. I have sensitive skin and allergies and have found this hotel a safe place to stay at. It is a few blocks away from starpark parking garage which offers the best deal for overnight parking in the area.
- 5/5
Very comfortable
- 5/5
We love the woodlark! It’s our favorite place to stay for a couples trip to PDX. The mattresses are incredibly comfortable, both the bar and coffee shop downstairs are super cute. There is easy parking a block up and the area is walkable.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Cleanliness. Speakeasy downstairs was great as well as the restaurant. Coffee shop was also a plus
- 5/5
3rd time back to stay here. Great location and front desk service. Restaurant and bar are nice. Comfy and clean room
- 5/5
Have stayed many times. Inside rooms are very quiet.
- 5/5
Staying at the Woodlark was a wonderful experience. The property was clean, peaceful, and very well designed. The staff was friendly and attentive and made us feel right at home. Very welcoming and fun place to stay! Make sure to stop by the Abigail for drinks and snacks.
- 3/5
The hotel was centrally located. The staff needed more training. They did not make clear what was included in the rate, that we had a credit for the restaurant. It also took about an hour to get our car from valet. The room is small but bathroom was spacious: I just wish the shower head was less painful and more of a gentle rain shower.
- 5/5
Everyone working at the property was very kind and accommodating. The rooms were very nice. We came in town for a concert at the Moda Center and were able to take the Max back to the hotel very easily. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Hip, cool vibe. Front desk guy was amazing, friendly and informative
- 4/5
this hotel is lovely. rooms and public spaces are gorgeous and staff is kind and attentive. my only complaint is the lack of bed comfort - for such a stunning hotel, i was surprised (and disappointed) that the sheets were essentially the texture of construction paper. not soft at all and definitely made for uncomfortable sleep.
- 5/5
The Woodlark is a quaint, lovely, comfortable place. The sensitivity and helpfulness of the staff took the experience of our say over the top!
- 5/5
Absolutely loved our stay at Woodlark Portland. Working with Expedia not so much.
- 4/5
Good location, close to Powell books and lots of restaurants!
- 5/5
Such a lovely place, with friendly staff and really beautiful rooms. I only wish the AC could go lower than 65 :')
- 2/5
$35 undisclosed destination fee charged by the hotel. Nothing provided by the hotel without a cost, not even coffee
- 5/5
I was a little skeptical booking here because of the mixed reviews. However my husband and I had an amazing stay. Rooms were very clean and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful. Very cute coffee bar downstairs. Only negative factor in my opinion was the high pricing for vallet parking per day. However there are many parking lots around the area for a cheaper option for parking.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Highly recommenced. Wil stay again.
- 4/5
Lovely boutique style hotel. Great location in the heart of downtown with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. Staff was average. Gal that checked me in didn’t mention vip benefits so I don’t believe any got applied.
- 5/5
Very nice Hotel. Clean, fancy, and really cool. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Woodlark was a very warm and cozy hotel and we felt right at home. My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to Portland and the staff was very accommodating. It is conveniently located within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. We felt very safe staying in the area as many others were out on foot. We’ll definitely consider the Woodlark again whenever we visit!
- 5/5
Fantastic that they offered complimentary bicycles to pedal along riverfront
- 5/5
We really enjoy stayed at this property, customer service was overall than my expectations.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our 1 night stay at this hotel. The room, although on the compact side, it was very clean. Perhaps the only comment would be around the building noises during the night and that you hear very clear whenever someone walked by talking on the corridor given the room's layout.
- 5/5
Loved my stay at woodlark. Rooms are beautiful, coffee was great and so is the service desk! My only complaint, bathroom is a bit dark making it hard to do makeup for my wedding day. Other than that the place was perfect !
- 5/5
Very good central location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They had lots of good recommendations. The hotel was clean and comfortable for our stay
- 5/5
Great place. Chic and cool.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
A very comfortable room!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, cramped room with a pole in the middle of it...had to store my suitcase under the bed! Great bathroom and shower. Loved working in the downstairs lobby, which had the best coffee! I'd consider staying here again, but would book a larger room.
- 4/5
We loved our stay here! Very cute and vibey. The staff was great! Took off a star because the room was tiny, the sheets were very rough and there was no bathrobe in the room as described.

- 4/5
Good hotel in downtown. Excellent customer service with good sized rooms. Beds were excellent.
- 3/5
No parking available on the property. Valet was not an option due to a marathon going on in the morning. We had to park 3 blocks away and walk with our luggage. Staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
This property looks economical but they charge random fees. We arrived early and our room was ready, but they tried to charge us a fee to get in the room early. This is right at the start of our stay, which left an impression.
- 5/5
during trash and recycling pick up mornings because the noise startled me from sleep. The noise machine did help during the second night of our stay. Again, the noise isn’t the hotels fault. Would still recommend this hotel to everyone! The speakeasy in the lobby is so cute and they have some great non-alcoholic beverages as well.
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice. The lobby was lovely with all the plants and coffee was amazing! Beds were very comfortable. Location was great in downtown. Close to restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay again.
- 4/5
The room was small and awkwardly set up with a large column in the middle of the room. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Overall good but small.
- 5/5
Very central to Portland and very walkable. Overall, very pleased with my stay here
- 5/5
Great hotel and ideal central location. Friendly staff and seamless experience. Roseline coffee in the lobby is the best and Bullard restaurant is great. Everything about this hotel setup is convenient, thoughtful and comfortable.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel, great location!
- 5/5
Beautifully renovated historic property. Lobby Restaurant and coffee shop are very good. The decor is stunning.
- 5/5
Amazing stay and service
- 5/5
The staff and service could not be better.
- 5/5
Woodlark never disappoints
- 3/5
Nice place but for the price would at least like storage in the room. Room was very small and simple. No dresser at all or drawer in the bathroom. Had to put all our stuff on the floor. The best part was the bed, it was very comfortable and everything was clean. The hotel did also provide a bottle of champagne for my husband and I because we were in our honeymoon.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and a great building. Located in a nice central part of the city
- 5/5
Hotel was clean in an area borderline of the Pearl district and downtown Portland. Therefore it was a bit safer than staying in the middle of downtown Portland. We had a rental and were able to find parking on the street quite easily. Initially, our room had issues with the air conditioning system, with the motor making too much noise, Engineering was bought in right away unfortunately a part was needed in order to fix said issue. We were accommodated to another room, but to our dismay it was smaller, but quickly corrected to a much larger room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
Staff and facilities were very nice. Shout out to Ely who was over the top helpful.
- 5/5
Isabelle helped me with last minute itinerary changes. Great staff!
- 5/5
The front desk staff was great
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at every turn. When I checked in, they offered dining recommendations and suggestions about local hikes; on my second night, I wandered down to the lobby after tossing and turning due to pain in my shoulder, the front desk staffer supplied me with ibuprofen from his person stash, and made a cup of tea. Jeremy really went above and beyond, and thanks for his kindness I was able to finally fall asleep. Would absolutely stay again on future trips to Portland.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Very nice and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Affordable and clean
- 5/5
Service was amazing, big shout out to Odie who made are stay extra special. Thank you! Very friendly and the environment was impeccable.

The property is situated in the downtown next to the stores. It is very walkable and safe.
- 5/5
Excellent! Can not wait to stay again

- 2/5
The location was great but the experience was horrible within the property
- 5/5
received amazing service when i was there
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 3/5
I like the location and the lobby layout. All staff was kind and helpful. The lights in the room had some kind of electrical problem so most didn't work. The phone kept flashing the whole stay but there were no instructions on how to access and it was overheating. I chose this hotel because it said they were pet friendly on the website. Just as we were getting settled in our room the front desk clerk came up and told us they did not allow cats. Then he said they would not evict us but not to tell any one we had a cat and listed all these damages they could charge. It really soured our stay. I explained their website said pet friendly and no where did it state exclusions or any other charges. They said that was "above their pay grade". He was very kind about it but it left a bad taste. Besides, either you are pretty friendly or you are not. You can't say pet friendly for dogs but no lizards or birds. My cat is 15.5yo. He's used to traveling and we come prepared. He's diabetic so we keep a close eye and he stays in the room. He's clean, nails are trimmed and he's quiet. Also, the connected tavern was lacking in affordable food and beverages. I will likely not stay there again mostly because of they way they handled the cat issue.
- 4/5
We very much enjoyed our stay at Woodlark. The hotel is nicely decorated and staff is wonderful. Great value. Air conditioner was a bit noisier than I like. Despite that, I'd be keen to select it again next time I visit Portland.

Fantastic experience!
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I stayed at Woodlark on a girls trip to Portland. It was such a beautiful hotel, highly walkable, AC worked great (it was mid-80s to low 90s while we were there) and the drapes were effective in keeping the sun out. Two features that seem to rarely work in hotels!
- 5/5
Great place friendly staff. Very clean rooms!!
- 5/5
Two thumbs and four paws up!
- 4/5
Very nice and in a safe area too, but not really a need for the valet as there was public parking right around the corner for like 25 a night and not as many homeless around that area.
- 5/5
The hotel was charming and stylish. Great location, very walkable and easy to access from the freeways. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean and comfortable and had a decent sized bathroom. All of the lights had dimmers which was nice and we really loved the pillows! The lobby was a really lovely place to hang out which we did a lot waiting for the valets to get our car... make sure to allow plenty of extra time waiting for the valets. Parking was expensive too. We had lunch at the Bullard restaurant which had great food and ambience. They were short-staffed and there were a couple events going on but the bartender jumped in and took good care of us. There are lots of really great restaurants and food truck parks close by as well. Would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
Waited in lobby for more than an hour before room was ready for checkin
