The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The front desk staff were also very helpful and allowed me to store my e-scooter in the storage area where a charging outlet was available, which I really appreciated. Thank you to the entire team for the great experience. I will definitely stay here again.

on site parking is available for a fee but is limited due to a small lot; is located across the actual building but wasn’t hard to navigate to. we booked the 1 bed-studio and it included a full functional kitchen with cutting board, utensils, etc. only issue we had was with the blow dryer which wasn’t working and the phone, which wasn’t plugged in so we tried finding the cord but could not locate the plug due to it being stuck under the tv stand/drawer. there is also a nearby convenience store (walking distance) during the night, my friend did step outside, right in front of the gate to get some fresh air and someone (male, intoxicated) who lived in the apartment, would not leave her alone and kept asking her questions about which unit she lived in and for how long. the male did live in the building as he had a fob to enter but the situation did make her feel uncomfortable which she had told the male and he still continued with asking questions, so just be cautious overall, good experience!

Only docked stars due to how outdated the room was, the bathroom could use some repair as well. However, the helpfulness of the staff and the location makes up for its faults.

Honestly, you get an apartment for the price you pay. I actually requested the least expensive room and was execting to slum it, but nope! I had a full bathroom, bedroom with TV extra room AKA dining room, which is probably technically the beddroom in the partments. You also get a full kitchen with a full refrigerator. Again, this is an apartment. Very clean. The building is gated so you need a code to get in. That code opens the main door at the same time. I made the mistake of forgetting the code so even if I had gotten into the courtyard, my key would not work on the door so REMEMBER your code! Of course you can go to the Mark Hotel and they'll take care of you. Overall, it was a nice place and worth more than what I paid.

What a cozy and decent place of stay. Right next to Cheryl’s on 12th, this apart-hotel also had laundry services and close access to many grocery/drug stores. Although we had a rough first night due to issues with our room, we were upgraded the next day to a suite with no further issues! Harrison and Nina were very patient and accommodating!

bathroom was so gross not cleaned at all. there was no latch on the door we did not feel save. we had no clean towels and dirty ones were left in our room and while we were gone they said they would leave at our front door outside and then they went into our room when we were gone and left them in the middle of the floor. was weird. left at 3am because we didnt feel safe.

I called the front desk, only to be passed to the manager who interrupted me, talked over me, and was quite rude. He did explain the heaters were on the baseboard, though, which I'd not seen before. I asked for an extra blanket and a space heater which staff brought hours later. There was also an issue with the room key not allowing access to the building front door, so staff had to come and then a renter finally let me in. Be prepared to lug your luggage up several stairs to check in at the hotel ftont desk, with no instructions to enter the side door to use the elevator.

Stayed 2 nights at the Washington Plaza Apartments ran by Mark Spencer Hotel. The apartment I booked with 2 others appeared like it hadn’t been vacuumed or properly cleaned. There was grime and hair on the bathroom floor, and no extra bedding (sheets, blanket) for the sofa bed/couch. Although, there was an extra blanket in the closet that clearly hadn’t been washed. Luckily, I had brought my own sheet and blanket, and we made do with what we had. There were also a pair of used socks found tucked in the sofa bed from whom I assume had previously booked the room. But we all got past it. Overall, the stay was good, I wasn’t expecting it to be anything special considering the price and the fact that we only needed the room to sleep. Great location, it felt safe. The staff was very kind and helpful as far as checking in and checking out goes. So with all being said, I would still consider staying again if need be. It’s a humble, old apartment building and you really can’t beat the location or price for a weekend stay.

The room was a bit rough. It's an older hotel room in an apartment complex. The shower head was leaking and when asked to repair was replaced with a shower head that sprayed right at my face and couldn't be lowered. They transferred rooms for me, which was nice. Loud construction one night on the street from 2am to 6am. It was a comfortable bed, thought.

I wish I would be able to choose something but unfortunately I cannot due to my very short stay due to being kicked out at 5 am due to me having a 2 month old 2 year old 4 year old children. I was shocked! I didn’t like that not even being there a full hour and checking in at roughly 1:30 am due to a long commute from northern Washington . My youngest child 2 month old . Was being a 2 month old and was crying. Mind you we got a apartment room due to us having kids and understanding children will be children and we wanted to make sure it wasn’t a regular hotel room cause we all know kids can be loud and infants cry. Our 2 month old was crying and we got a complaint . A threatening one. I let the front desk know hey it’s out infant and we apologize . They didn’t care he said if he got one more complaint in the cryimg he was gonna have to kick us out. We were shocked . Next thing you know security is knocking on our door telling me and my family mind you my wife and extremely young children we have to leave due to our infant crying. My wife tried to reason with the guy letting him know we drove a very long way we have small children and our newborn is crying . The MARK SPENCER /WASHINGTON PLAZA could care less. Around 5:30 6 am we were kicked out. With our young kids due to a Karen complaining about an infant crying. I couldn’t believe it. So my family wasn’t important enough or “white” enough to be allowed to stay due to 1 person complaining about a infant . They didn’t even refund us our money and we hadn’t been there 6 hours. We had to sleep in a car until we were able to get a room the next day. This place has no respect for families they throw u out like trash for a Karen who couldn’t deal with a little noise from a infant.

Only giving three stars because it was affordable for us and clean, and close to some nice shops and restaurants. You have to walk around to the opposite side of the block, to a separate hotel, to check in and check out. We had no idea. Also our curtains didn't work so we couldn't close them for privacy and sleep. And the shower sprays up water at the ceiling while the toilet makes noise non stop. Location is scary too and I didn't feel safe walking in dark with all the people doing dru*s and shouting on the street

First I have to have to say that the manager of the Mark Spencer (which is the hotel handling Washington Plaza bookings) was amazing! His name is Alex and he is absolutely the best! I switched rooms at WP after one night due to my first one being dirty (crumbs all over kitchen counters/table/floor, microwave filthy, hair on my towels and all over bathroom, bathmat was stained and wet). He personally guided me to my choice of a new room. I picked a different room as at first glance it seemed ok. However, it was in serious need of updating/repair/maintenance. Walls and carpet in bad shape (looked like poop stains on carpet - maybe someone brought their dog?), one light in bathroom burned out, microwave and fridge were filthy, hair on my towels and bedding, kitchen floor not mopped. I have to say the bed was super comfy though. Unfortunately, I won’t be staying here again even though location is very convenient.

This place was old and run down. The kitchenette was poorly stocked with old dishes; one of the 2 coffee cups looks to have stained with 20+ years of use. The microwave button kept getting stuck/would not latch. The furniture was old and very well worn. The AC unit was very loud, did not allow the (broken) blinds to be closed. There are not curtains over the mismatched blinds= no way to block out light. The bathroom, which you needed to step up 4 inches into, was gross and NOT CLEAN. I cleaned the sink area of black and brown filth. The sink was not actually attached to the vanity. The shower curtain and toilet seat both had what looked like burn marks on them? The shower did make me feel tall as I had to squat to rinse my hair - I’m only 5’9. The carpet at MINIMUM needs a deep clean. I figured I could make it work for my trip, however, I checked out early. I should have known my stay wouldn’t go well with the rude attitude I received at check in.

The bed was super comfortable, it was nice having a kitchen, and the hotel is in an excellent location with lots of good restaurants and stores. The renowned Powell Books is only 2 blocks away. It is a short 2 block walk to catch the light rail to the airport. The locked courtyard adds a nice level of safety. My stay was satisfactory. I liked the character of the unit but it was a little light on amenities and the bathroom didn’t feel quite clean. I also liked the location and proximity to the train stops.

Shower in the room was a tad small even for one person. But that is the only thing. Great place if you want to see the city on foot and use public transportation. You could spend a week walking around and seeing new things and nevet go more than 6 blocks from your room.

The best part of my stay was the staff & service as they were polite and helpful. The elevator and the room itself both felt outdated. The room could have been more clean. There were random hairs in the restroom sink and on the mat. I wasn’t a fan of the smell in the room as it smelled outdated as well. I appreciated the AC in there, but it was the worst thing in terms of noise. It sounded as if the window was open all night so I could hear absolutely everything going on outside and got very little sleep as I’m a light sleeper. The AC also felt like it was turning off too often no matter the temperature so I felt hot throughout the night and normally I run cold. Overall, not the best stay and I’m unsure if I’ll return as the price was low, but so was the quality.

Not great. Stayed here last year and it was better. Straight off the toilet was didn’t have water and couldn’t flush. The shower was ridiculously small. Phone line only sometimes worked.

I will never stay there again. The TV was about the only decent part of the room. Inconvenient outlets, no outlet next to the bathroom mirror, only mirror, no sink plug, no room on the sink for anything', I could go on. $100/ NT for that lack of comfort!

This unit was in a convenient area, within walking distance of everything we needed to do. It wasn't a large room, but good for a few days, especially considering we spent most of our time out and about. I would book it again.

All around good stay. Friendly staff. Awesome location. There may be permanent residents in the building. Had to listen to a boyfriend rage in an argument with his girlfriend at one point. Life in the city?? Would definitely stay there again.

The convenience of this property can’t be beaten. The building is very secure but be cautious at night walking to and from the apartment. There are homeless and mentally unstable people yelling at night or banging on something near the property. During the day is no issue. Great food next door at Cheryl’s and close to vegan bakery Petunias !

My gf and I stay here because it was easy walking distance to the Crystal Ballroom, and the price was great. Its an older building, and not the most convenient in some ways, like we had to check in at one place, but then walk outside around the block to access the building where our room actually was, but it wasn't a huge deal. The room itself was great! Its obviously an old apartment building, so the room is basically an old studio appt, with a entire little kitchen setup, including some real dishes! We were very happy with our stay and will for sure be back!

One of the best stays so far! Beautiful, and I mean beautiful building-but the best was the full kitchen with stove fridge sink. And, the most comfortable bed I’ve been in so far. And the staff who were on the desk; Brent and Harrington were so welcoming and knowledgeable about what to do in the area. This will be my go to hotel whenever I am back in Portland.

We have stayed here before and never had an issue it’s always been quiet place and convenient area. However I feel the cleanliness could be better, there were left over towels in closet on floor from previous booking which left me questioning how good they cleaned the room. Other then that we’ve always had a good stay here

The location was decent except for homeless people and open drug users on the streets. Stumbled upon a few in the stairwells of the building. Called the staff and they said “oh we just kicked him out” leading me to believe it happens all the time. There was an old bra, old condom wrappers, trash, and other old items left in the room upon arrival. Left me wondering about overall cleanliness… Safety and security also felt questionable. The door lock to the room was half broken and felt like the door could just be pushed a little and pop open. I don’t think I would stay here again, but everything turned out ok. Portland!

We enjoyed our stay at the Washington plaza. The location was pretty good and I really liked how secure the building was. the bed was comfortable. My only complaints were that the bathroom was tiny and that in the middle of the night the garbage would be picked up and it was soooo loud. The windows are single pane so you heard everything. We would stay here again.

Older apartment and thermostats ,a spare blanket would have been nice in the closet. Only thing I would add is a coffee maker. If you wanted coffee you had to leave the building and walk around the corner to Mark Spencer Hotel that manages it and get coffee in the lobby. Coffee shops in area don't open until 0800 !

Easy check-in at the Mark Spencer and all the amenities at the Mark Spencer were available to us: wine tasting, parking garage, lobby lounge. We had 2 rooms, one was very much older and in need of updating to bring it into this century. Overall the condition was worn and tired, but everything was clean. Worth it for the price and location.

The place probably has not been remodeled since 1960. A portable A/C took up floor space in this tiny apartment and it was very noisy. It vented through dryer duct out the window. They used a thin piece of plastic to cover the six inch gap between the window and the wall that was barely taped in place. This let all the big city noise in. The worst nights sleep ever! Drunks sleeping on the side walks. Both faucets were ready to fall apart.

The hotel is a great area. Great night life, accessible to a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment close by. I enjoyed most of my stay except the only way to access my room from downstairs is through an elevator. Which broke t de own for almost an hour, Friday night at 7pm. I was returning from being out all day and wanting to shower and head out. Staff eventually walked me up the stairs and helped me access my room, but were unwilling to lend me a key to continue to access the stairs. So I had no way of coming and going until the elevator was eventually fixed. Which severally impacted my trip.
