Reviews
The hotel generally received positive reviews for its staff, cleanliness, and amenities such as the pool, sauna, and steam room. However, there were several complaints about the parking situation, with many guests finding it expensive and inconvenient. Some guests also had issues with the food and service at the restaurant, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Great pool, sauna, and steam room
- Expensive and inconvenient parking
- Issues with restaurant food and service
- 4/5
My biggest disappointment is the number of restrictions surrounding the rooftop bar, which was one of the main reasons I chose to stay here. Unfortunately, access and availability seem more limited than expected. The location is also a bit isolated, with relatively few dining and entertainment options within walking distance. If the rooftop bar isn’t a priority for your stay, you may find better value staying closer to the Burnside area, where there’s more to do nearby.

“Had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my visit, and the location was convenient. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would gladly stay here again.”
- 5/5
A good front desk, A fast elevator, A clean room except bed making
- 5/5
I stayed here for 3 nights while in Portland and was very pleased with the Hotel. The customer service is amazing as well as the amenities included in the stay. Would 100% recommend if staying in Portland.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful

Superb
- 5/5
The breakfast which we had included in the room rate was fabulous! Staff was incredible! Super nice and helpful. Only valet parking available.
- 5/5
Conveniently located, walked wherever we needed to go! Great pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna!
- 3.5/5
The dry sauna worked well. The little coffee shop/market was great. The jacuzzi wasn’t hot. The bathroom could have been cleaner, as well as the floors.
- 5/5
Brandy and Christine on the front desk were both so friendly and helpful. Pool/wellness area is amazing!

The pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room are excellent and the primary reason to stay there. That being said there is always something with this place and they are terrible with communication. This time, the main restaurant was closed and we weren't informed until we got there. Then when we got back from the pool we tried to order room service and it just rang and rang. When I called the front desk I was informed they closed early. No reason, no communication when we checked in that the hours were changed or that they would close early. On a Saturday night?
- 5/5
Was a great hotel . Had wonderful amenities the only thing was the barn style doors to the bathroom were a little heavy trying to close and one was off its track but other than that the room was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Everything Nothing
- 3/5
The check in was longer than expected. The staff was friendly. The room was not as nice as it looked in the photos. The room smelled of animal pee.
- 5/5
Fun upstairs bar and walkable to many locations. Including PSU Saturday farmers market.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
We loved the pool, hot tube, meditation area. The roof top bar was a treat. The location was perfect for a show at Keller as well as to walk along the river. We will stay here again.
- 3/5
The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Good location. ***BREAKFAST- BE AWARE*** We got breakfast included for our stay. The hotel gave us a $20 voucher per person for the breakfast. The breakfast menu of food plus one drink would be over $20 (orange juice is $5, coffee $4, main meal c.$18-20). So it is completely pointless to get breakfast included because you would have to pay extra anyway. We raised this with hotel staff and said this was NOT breakfast included if you still had to pay anyway. They replied that this was the first time this complaint had been made. However, there have been multiple reviews flagging this, over the years and this clearly has not been addressed by the hotel. This policy needs to be scraped completely. If breakfast is included it should be actually included OR should be enough to cover a full breakfast plus one or two drinks AND MAKE IT CLEAR THAT THIS IS YOUR POLICY ON YOUR BOOKING (something the hotel has said they would do in previous comments but obviously hasn't).

Brandy the manager needs a raise. I’ve stayed here a few times and there has never been an issue that she couldn’t fix. We celebrated my friend’s birthday and they gave her a little special bag which made the experience even better.

It's clean

Great service

Clean room. Great location
- 1/5
I didn’t like anything, staff not that attentive. Limited food.
- 4.5/5
Easy stay , hotel staff every one of them was fabulous. Hotel employee in the cafe went above and beyond for our family .
- 5/5
We were here on our honeymoon. It is the most fancy hotel we have ever been too. We will definitely be going back for our 1 yr anniversary. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. The coffee in the cafe is super yummy. The robes and slippers were great only downside my husband's feet are huge so the slippers didn't fit. But that's ok. We can't wait to go back
- 5/5
There really isn’t much to say. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the hotel, and I recommend it to everyone who wants to spend one night in Portland.
- 5/5
It's was fabulous
- 1/5
Mark the front desk the evening staff was very unprofessional and rude. They were not too concerned or considerate to accommodate the needs that we needed at the time.
- 3/5
Location downtown by the river is really nice. We also chose the hotel because of the rooftop bar & grill, the pool and the suite which could accommodate 4 and had a living room with a full dining room size table for us all to enjoy. However, the rooftop bar and grill which we had visited before with our 18 & 20 year old daughters was now only allowing 21 and older and would not accommodate us even though guests of the hotel that had planned celebration gatherings start there. And the suite to accommodate 4, had 2 sleeping on a mattress on the floor.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel, just wish the restaurants were open a bit later.

Staff was great and the motel was excellent
- 5/5
Everything was clean and a nice stay. The only issue is the valet is ridiculously over priced but other than that it was nice
- 5/5
Great service, friendly staff.
- 5/5
The check in was easy and personable. The room was exactly what i wanted, and the bedding comfortable.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Ideal place to stay.
- 4/5
The area was nice and had good amenities. Add in a continental breakfast and you’d get full marks.
- 1/5
Portland is mid way to many freaks here whack ass vibe hotel is ok
- 5/5
Everything was clean and food fresh

- 3/5
The hotel was beautiful and perfection positioned so we could walk to the opera 1 block away. The staff was quick to assist. The main issue we had was not having a microwave in our room. Other than that minor inconvenience, it was beautiful and a pleasant experience.
- 4/5
great place to stay.
- 4/5
Pool area was very clean and stocked with towels.
- 5/5

Everything else was excellent.
- 5/5
Love how clean was the room and the entired hotel. Love the pools and that it had a steam room and sauna .. the receptionist were very kind.
- 5/5
Rooms were great, staff friendly, valet parking rate for hotel guest is high compared to Bay Area valet parking.
- 5/5
Great . Would stay again .
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable, but an unexpected highlight was the pool and spa area. Enjoyed the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and pool.
- 3/5
Room was so small to fit 4 people. The couch folded out to a bed but it was an awkward style and there was no walking room around the bed once it folded out. Also got a corner “river view” unit but all I saw were buildings. No big deal but they shouldn’t advertise that as a selling point. The sliding barn doors to the bathroom are kind of annoying to deal with. The room and hotel felt clean though. Friday night was noisy because of the rooftop party going on. No breakfast included and it is expensive if you get room service or eat at the restaurant. Decided to walk 5 minutes to Drip Drop in the morning for The Dude sandwich and good coffee so I would recommend that instead. Valet parking is super expensive so we parked at a parking garage just across the street for less than half the price.
- 2/5
Valet employees dont know how to drive manuel vehicles, therefore you pay 69.00 to park youelr own vehicle out front?? Took 35 min to get my car because they didnt have anyone that could get it out of the garage because they couldn't drive it. Refused to give me any accommodation and still charged me 69.00. Wont go back again
- 5/5
Excellent location, efficient valet, and great amenities
- 5/5
Decor was well done, clean, and rooftop bar was a great vibe!
- 1/5
I went to this hotel. I used my card for security deposit and I haven’t get a refund. It’s almost 2 weeks. This is crazy. I would never recommend anyone to go there.
- 5/5
Clean and comfy.
- 5/5
Yes.
- 4/5
Easy check in and check out. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
My only note to future guests is to be mindful of the parking situation if you have a car. The hotel only offers valet, which was quite expensive. I recommend using the self-parking lot across the street, which is way more affordable and felt very safe. The area is also fantastic - nearly everything you can hope to see in Portland is no more than a fifteen minute drive away. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Steps away from the Keller, this hotel is the perfect destination when going to the theater or just visiting Portland. The check-in staff was incredibly friendly as was the Barista in the coffee shop. The Rooftop Bar is a perfect place to unwind with a nightcap and some snacks. The only downside at the Rooftop was that the very first drink we ordered, they didn't have an ingredient and then when we ordered an appetizer they didn't have that either so it was a bit off-putting that the first two things we ordered they couldn't provide. That being said, their drinks are very tasty and the snack that we eventually got was very good.
- 5/5
Great stay at The Porter !! Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Jazmine (the server at the small restaurant in the property) was the sweetest and was our first warm smile in Oregon.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Family of three stayed at one night recently and we enjoyed it. The location is great, a few steps to the water front, a relatively quite and nice area in the south of downtown. Stuff is friendly and room is comfortable and clean.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Property in as new condition - should have seating available other than a single wooden high back kitchen chair or the low beds.
- 5/5
Didn’t eat
- 5/5
Beautiful and clean room! The area was safe and street parking was easy. The pool is beautiful which included a sauna and steam room. The pool space was nice and warm.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice steam and dry sauna
- 5/5
We ordered room service, and it was so good! The pool area was also amazing
- 5/5
The hotel is in a convenient location downtown portland. I suggest you do not park your car there however unless you want to pay an extra 50 plus dollars a night. Service is rather slow and the restaurant but the food was good and the views are amazing from the rooftop bar
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
Front desk was amazing!!!!!!
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
The staff were friendly and professional! My kids love the pool!! The room was clean and quiet! We would come back next time we visit
- 4/5
The hotel was beautiful. However, I was checked in by a gentlemen that seemed miserable. We received zero information about the property. I didn’t know how to find information independently until I seen the QR code. I asked the bar for a plastic fork. He said okay and then just didn’t get one. No explanation just left us standing there. After 10 minutes the other bartender asked if we needed anything.Anytime I asked a question it seemed like I was annoying the front desk staff. Room was serviced twice no conditioner. I bought my own so I didn’t have to ask. The service was not what I expected from a hotel this expensive.
- 5/5
Room was very clean.
- 5/5
Everything was good, location was great. Pool was really nice and the bar on the 16th floor was the perfect way to end the night. Most definitely would stay here again
- 2/5
No business center to give guests access to a computer or printer. No staff to assist with loading baggage onto a trolley (that guests have to get themselves and pus around, onto and off of elevators and all the way to their room). A call to the front desk to request a luggage trolley be brought to our room for checkout day was given a "let me see if I can find someone to do that and I will call you back." Still waiting for a call. Front desk agent did not even bother asking how our stay was when we checked out. Have to assume she hears complaints from the majority of guests checking out. Save yourselves the hassle and disappointment.
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
This hotel is amazing! The perfect experience. Rooms were clean, staff friendly and so much to do! You don’t even have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to. Such a great place! We will be back!
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, extra amenities is hard to come by. My son threw up on the comforter instead of housekeeping switching out the comforter they gave us a thin fleece blanket.
- 4/5
Room was kind of clean but we found sucks and clothes under the bed. Jacuzzi was not working. Besides that the hotel is a good place to stay.
- 4/5
Nice hotel for the price
- 3/5
No free breakfast. Expensive parking.
- 2/5
I almost never leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt like I should say something. From the moment we arrived, the concierge came across as rude and not very helpful. We had booked a river view (partial river view) room, but when we got to the room the only view we had was of nearby apartment buildings. On top of that, the faucet in the room was broken and the bathroom door wouldn’t even close properly. I went back to the concierge to mention the issues and confirm the type of room we had booked. Instead of trying to help, he told me they were fully booked and that there was nothing they could do. He then said, in his exact words, “Since you booked with Expedia, deal with them.” That response was honestly frustrating and very disappointing. A little effort to help, or even just some basic courtesy, would have gone a long way. Needless to say, I won’t be booking here again.
- 5/5
Amazing place, great location, great staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with convenient location
- 5/5
There is rooftop
- 5/5
This was our second stay here and we love it so much. It’s just a comfortable wonderful hotel! So convenient to shopping and restaurants and bars everything is a walkable distance! Thank you for a great day!
- 5/5
Good location, nice rooftop bar, pool, fitness room
- 4/5
It was a quick stay so didn’t see or do much at hotel. But it felt clean and updated
- 5/5
Clean rooms and helpful staff
- 3/5
Okay
- 5/5
Very clean, convenient to a lot of local stuff.
- 4/5
pool nice
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great amenities- the spa pool was a nice touch. There was also a hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Walking distance to the waterfront park trail along the Willamette River, lots of little cafes around. Great location, felt safe. Only downside was no on site parking except valet which was $69 per night, but there is a parkade across the street that was reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great amenities!
- 5/5
Nice room, helpful staff, convenient location
- 5/5
My fav hotel in Portland!
- 5/5
Clean room, amenities. Roof top bar
- 5/5
Beautiful facility with great amenities and a great location. Quiet throughout the night. Great staff.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Loved our experience we had here, room and hotel was very clean. The indoor pool and spa was wonderful for the raining weather. The location also was very safe and easy access to the freeways. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
This hotel was probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The room was beautiful, spotless and had a really nice view of the city. Would definitely stay here again!

- 5/5
Everything was great. Excellent room, service and very quiet.
- 5/5
The rooms are beautiful. Well appointed, have everything necessary. And the hotel is in a great location with wonderful service and amenities. A+
- 5/5
Evelyn. She is a sweetheart and should be promoted ASAP. Authentic kindness. That is hard to find these days. My hat is off to The Porter and I will bring my business back to them. Soon.
- 2/5
Food from room service was awful and some of the staff just rude.
- 4/5
Other than that, everything was great.
- 5/5
Great stay, especially for the price. Very cleanly, nice staff and great amenities. Loved the room, very cozy stay also room service was a great bonus!
- 5/5
A clean amazing hotel. I often find most downtown hotels annoyingly old and not clean. This was the first and best hotel I have ever been to in down town portland. From the guest service , restaurant , bar all was perfect. Thanks!
- 5/5
Clean. Great location. Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff!
- 5/5
Was perfect
- 5/5
Room was great very clean staff was amazing
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this hotel - after cold days or just looking to detox, there’s something so comforting about being able to take a steam or deep heat sauna and just relax. All freely accessible for guests. The facility is stylish and staff were all great. Nice, bright and modern coffee shop attached
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!
- 5/5
comfortable and convenient
- 5/5
Location was great and room was spotless.
- 4/5
Everything was fine except for the large valet parking fees. I knew that before I booked but I still think it was too high.
- 5/5
Room was spotless, staff was exceptional. They offer luggage storage which was very convenient. The gym had free weights and a couple cables as well as treadmills. The pool was very nice. The singular downside I can think of is that there was no microwave inside the rooms, you can ask front desk to use the microwave, or if the cafe is open there is a microwave to use as well as utensils. Will definitely come back in the future.
- 5/5
Beautiful! Clean! Great location and amenities!
- 4/5
The room was very comfortable but the walls are very thin. We could easily hear phone conversations and music during quiet hours in addition to dogs barking early in the morning or late evening.
- 5/5
Very clean and inviting. Food and service at the rooftop bar was excellent.
- 4/5
We paid for breakfast and got coupons to use in the restaurant. The breakfast selection is not a lot and honestly not impressive. Aside from that, everything else is great. I would stay there again if I go back to Portland.
- 5/5
Staff, Room just perfect
- 4/5
Just about everything was great, however the lobby, hallway by the elevators, and certain places within the hotel had a really strong perfumey smell that gave me a headache.
- 3/5
We stayed at this hotel because of the pool and hot tub. However, when we got there it was closed for redoing tiles. It was upsetting because we chose this place because of the pool.
- 3/5
The room was fantastic and the staff was excellent but unfortunately one of the main reasons we booked the hotel was the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. They were all closed for maintenance.
- 5/5
Top-tier loved every part about our corner room service was amazing. Employees were amazing.
- 3/5
Good. Rooftop bar is awesome
- 4/5
Room was large and clean. Bathroom in the bedroom was small. Nice views of the city. But a bit noisy from the street noise. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning every day. Front desk was helpful. No bellhop to bring luggage up to the room. And the pool was closed the whole time for renovation and with no notice, which was very disappointing.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing 10/10
- 5/5
Great place
- 2/5
Our family specifically stays at this hotel for the pool and hot tub and they were closed.
- 5/5
Staff was great when we requested more blankets. Fast service. Bartender at Xport was amazing.
- 5/5
Within minutes to walk to Keller Theatre perfect spot. Great restaurant best Pizza I had in a long time. Terrace Bar nice place to relax.
- 5/5
Room was amazing! The staff got us into our room ahead of schedule. Didn’t look into breakfast, have nothing to say about that. And yes, business was friendly.
- 5/5
It was wonderful
- 3/5
The spa was closed and we didn't know until check in. The only reason we booked was because of the spa. It was quite disappointing.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, except the front desk.
- 5/5
Great staff great location
- 3/5
I stayed at the Porter specifically for the Pool and hottub, much farther from my work conference but really wanted the pool. Turns out it was closed half my stay- it would have been nice to have been informed of that, and I may have stayed closer to work had I known. A sign at the desk is not enough. Guests should have been given this info 100 %.
- 4/5
Hotel was lovely. I wish the restaurant had more menu items. The valet was a bit expensive but it bought convenience and peace of mind. Im a bigger guy so the shower and the toilet area was a tight fit for me im a 6'2 330 Samoan man so go figure lol. Loved the view me and my gf had a corner king bed with city view. Wish they had a larger pool area maybe one for families bc it was too crowded to relax because kids want to play so it would be nice to have a area for them to play while others can enjoy and relax without being splashed in the face.
- 3/5

- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
quality service, nice coffee shop and bar too.
- 5/5
Amenties
- 4/5
The only complaint is that there were fees that weren’t specified when booking through Expedia. I paid for the room in full but there was a $200 deposit that I had to pay at arrival. Just something to keep in mind when booking. If I were to book again I’d book directly through them. Never been to a Hilton but overall a good experience. The pool and steam room were great I highly recommend if you are trying to have a relaxing stay. The rooftop bar is nice and they play good music on the weekends in the evening. The drinks were okay and bit on the pricey side.
- 5/5
Best location to stay.
- 5/5
Room was clean, spacious, & it provided all of the essentials
- 5/5
Nice room, clean, close to everything
- 5/5
Clean rooms and nice staff
- 5/5
I will be going to the hotel whenever I stay in Portland again. Trust me guys you will not regret staying here. My room was clean and the place was just aesthetically please all around. The views were to suite for!!!!
- 4/5
Staff was courteous and gave us a complimentary breakfast because the elevators were broken.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
love indoor pool steam and gym
- 5/5
Great views
- 1/5
Elevator didn’t work and we had to climb 14 floors and the staff didn’t ever reassured nor provide definite answers as to getting a repair company or when it would be fixed
- 4/5
It's just as pictured. Very clean and great amenities, but I was charged an extra100 dollars for 3 night stay.. I cannot figure out where these charges came from..maybe it was from the three bottles of water I drank..
- 3/5
The next morning the elevators were still out and there was no communication. We came down for breakfast. This time we brought our suits, as there was no way we were going up 10 flights of stsirs to get them after breakfast. No one discussed anything with us. There was no offer to open the pool area early because of this, no offer of comped breakfast, crickets. The pool has no towels, the phone to call was nothing but busy signal. I went and borrowed from the fitness center. The sauna and steam room were cold. One had the door propped open. You woyld think if something opens at nine and check out is at 11, someone would get everything going at 8, so the amenities could be used. I'm not sure that if I hadn't sent a message through my Expedia, anything would have been done.
- 5/5
Room 10/10 view 10/10 food 10/10 vibes 10/10 will be back for sure!
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff was courteous and prompt! On check-in they informed us of all services and accessable options. We went to the included cocktail lesson which was amazing (and delicious). The indoor pool and steam room were a definite bonus.
- 4/5
Beautiful property, great amenities, friendly staff. Only downfall was elevators broke down and hawling your luggage up and down 14 flights of stairs was not ideal. Luckily it was our last night I realize it’s something out of staffs control but some type of credit should had been given for the huge inconvenience. Overall great stay and would visit again!
- 5/5
Clean room, nice location with plenty dining options. Don’t have any breakfast while staying, plenty options around that are cheaper than hotel breakfast. Overall great stay, great staff, quiet hotel in a good area.
- 5/5
We had a great stay! The room was nice and clean and the bed was soooo comfortable! We will stay here again!
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 5/5
I think the staff was great and the room was clean. The valet was extremely helpful.
- 5/5
Clean, nice hotel
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Staff are all excellent to work with
- 5/5
We were in town for the marathon and hotel was walking distance from start line. Room was very comfortable and staff were friendly. Lots of great restaurants nearby to enjoy. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
The staffsuper friendly at the front desk, restaurants, coffee shop as well as the wonderful Valet staff.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Gym and pool is good
- 4/5
My stay was lowkey fire fam. I mean I could glaze this hotel all day yo.
- 4/5
My stay was generally pleasant. My room was beautiful with a comfortable bed and handsome views from the large windows in the corner room. Neither the remote control to the television nor the room safe was working on my arrival. It took until Friday evening to fix. The housekeeping was much better on Friday than Saturday. The additional $30 daily fee for guest services was unnecessary and dishonest advertising. I arrived at 10:30pm, hungry because there were no meal options on my flight to Portland. I requested in-room dining, & then tried to eat at the hotel restaurant, which was advertised as available in writing and on the hotel’s website, but was actually completely untrue and had been unavailable for quite some time, according to hotel front desk staff. I was advised to use “Door Dash” which is a service I have never used. I didn’t want to order food from a place I had never been before and retrieve it from a stranger who would learn my room and see that I was traveling alone. I registered my dissatisfaction about this hotel failure with the front desk in person and via telephone, requesting that the guest services fee for 10/9 be refunded due to lack of advertised dining options. I was assured that this would be addressed in my bill by front desk staff. When I checked out, however, I noticed that I had been charged the full guest fee for 10.9 despite assurances otherwise. I spoke with front desk staff a third time, and my request to remove the fee was finally honored.

Clean rooms, spacious rooms, Xport roof top
- 5/5
Front counter frame as friendly and efficient. Housekeeping staff was quick to respond to needs and rooms were clean and nicely done. The area right around the hotel had good restaurants and coffee shops within a few minutes.
- 4/5
The hotel room was nice overall. The location worked out well. The staff were friendly and professional. The gym and sauna were really nice and clean. The food at the restaurant on the 1st floor was not the greatest along with the cocktail ordered. The TV usage was not the best (intermittent connection issues). I will stay here again when I come into Portland.
- 5/5
Choices were limited.
- 3/5
Staff was very nice and friendly. The room was smaller than I anticipated and there was old soap/lotion drips down the shower and by the bathroom door from I’m assuming the previous person who stayed there. The walls were paper thin and I could hear the man next to us coughing all night. For the price, I would expect a little more private feeling space and a little more cleanliness. Also was charged a $100 a night fee, which was not mentioned when I booked so was kind of surprised to have to pay that on arrival. Amenities were good and the coffee shop downstairs was fantastic and their staff was so kind and friendly.
- 4/5
Decent size room, staff are excellent, coffee shop attached to the lobby is good, rooftop restaurant is amazing and food was good, and drinks were good. Hotel is literally a 5 minute walk to the waterfront, 1 mile walk to the pearl district where you can get great food, the giant book store and more. This spot is really a quiet spot, because when you head south you will see how things get. The hotel has an indoor pool and a separate Sauna and Steam Room
- 5/5
The Porter is a great option. Room is perfect size and super comfortable. Walkable to all main areas and just chic and cool spot .

Staff was excellent. The best hotel staff. Rooms were extremely quiet and comfortable, when we were in our room it was like we were in our own little world. Room service prompt and delicious. Just an excellent stay top to bottom.
- 5/5
Really nice rooms and actually clean. You can tell that the staff care about the quality of their work.
- 5/5
The gym was decent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, heated saline pool, and don’t forget to at least visit the rooftop bar! The rooms were very spacious, and the views aren’t to write home about despite getting the city view room.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfort to stay.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and very clean !!! Very happy to stay there, I will for sure stay there again if I’m back in Portland .

Very nice and clean room and spaces in general !! Great bar at the roof top !!!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel in a convenient location. Would definitely recommend it.
- 5/5
Great location, safe, easy parking, the food was surprisingly great for hotel.
- 4/5
Lobby and property is beautiful. Staff was friendly. And the steak smelled so good outside the restaurant. Pool is beautiful and the zen area is nice. Although the pool tile is super slippery and feels unsafe and it was a little dirty. The fitness room was nice and had a peleton, which was nice. Hotel room is very nice. At first glance the set up is very cool but after staying a night, the plethera of bathroom doors is very awkward and they provide no blockage of sound. So in the two bed room, staying with a friend, they get to hear you take your morning poop. So thats fun. Overall a nice stay. Wouldnt mind coming back with my significant other.

Beautiful!

Great bathroom! Do wish there had been some writing paper in room. As well as a TV channel guide.
- 5/5
the room had some dents in the wall and the barn yard style doors are an interesting choice for the bathroom and toilet area.....
- 5/5
Clean room, beautiful hotel, great location. Amazing gym, hot tub & sauna.

Perfect for stay after seeing musical at Keller auditorium. One block away! Nice rooftop bar and valet parking!

Easy check-in and beautiful property.

Perfect stay!
- 5/5
This hotel was very classy, with many security guys at the front who do valet parking. Our room was not too big but very nice with a view. They had a roomy walk in shower, though the shower floor was slippery. House keeping people made our bed every day and cleaned the room which we appreciated. We chose this hotel because our daughter who lives in Portland insisted to stay here because of security, convenience and niceness.
- 5/5
Great place with wonderful friendly staff.
- 4/5
Only 1 of the 4 elevators was working. Getting up to the 15th floor took forever. Otherwise nice stay.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with the most friendliest staff and everything you need around you.
- 4/5
Overall our experience was great! The things we didn’t enjoy: Our bathroom was not very clean, the steam room wasn’t working, two elevators were out of service. We hear everything from the guests next door because a door communicated our bedrooms. Other than that was a very nice experience. We loved the location and proximity to the waterfront and many restaurants around the area. We were happy to find a $22 overnight parking half block away instead of paying the $75 they offer. The staff was very friendly and supportive!!! Overall I recommend this place.
- 5/5
Nice place!

We visited The Porter while in Portland for a wedding reception. My mom doesn’t travel much and this was her first time in a hotel since my dad passed 15 years ago. I wasn’t even sure she would join me and I was so happy she did. From the valet to the front desk, everyone was so welcoming. We loved our pretty corner room and the bathrobe and other amenities were perfect. I even took her up to the pretty rooftop bar to check out the view. Location was great and the overall stay was lovely. One tip for travelers? Be sure to bring small bills for tips as the location is pretty much cash free so difficult to make change for tips.
- 4/5
Nice rooms and pretty hotel very convenient and safe location downtown Portland. My only wishes were that bars and pool facility stayed open longer
- 3/5
Staff mostly friendly and nice. Cons: the room was very dark (decor) and depressing The bed had dark metal frame and so, on the dark carpet, was hard to see and I kept banging my ankles while moving around. Tea bags provided but no way to make tea. Indoor pool was too cold. No lunch option or any salad choices in to-go coffee shop. The breakfast sandwich I took with me literally made me sick and had to leave the conference room to vomit. The extra $200plus charges for facilities fees, taxes on check out surprised me too. Conference venue was a Marriott the food (and coffee) was better in all respects so I ate there. Rooftop bar had a lot of noise which echoed all around from loud party and music which kept me awake. 4 stars is generous all things considered.
- 4/5
Walkable
- 5/5
Nice hotel but not safe once outside
- 4/5
Not enough elevators running. Only 3 of 5 were on and that was not enough. No ability to adjust thermostat to alter room temperature. Great location to waterfront activities. Coffee shop and restaurant service not so good. But only used each one once. Breakfast food in restaurant very good. But no one refilled our coffee. Bed comfortable. Hated that the bathroom light turned on automatically when you walked in and blasted night in my eyes.
- 4/5
Staff was nice. Elevators out often, pool hours could be better and the rooms are a little old could use some TLC. Stayed four days never changed the bedding.
- 5/5
Great stay at the porter. Staff was great and very helpful. Room was very nice and spacious. Would recommend staying in the King room. The mediation room was my favorite part. One issue I had was some of elevators were not working. This cause wait times to get up and down. I’m sure if they fix their elevators everything would be smooth.
- 3/5
Very loud people up and down the hallway late into the night...well past midnight. Irritating
- 5/5
Room wasn't the largest but it was nice and clean. Hotel was real nice, pool area was lovely

Love this hotel. Best place to stay in downtown Portland.

- 5/5
Hotel is great. Bars, exercise room and pool were great.
- 5/5
Had a good trip to Portland.
- 3/5
Had to pay for valet parking on separate parking app which was cumbersome and showed extra day charges - ruined a decent stay
- 5/5
Incredible stay
- 5/5
We like this place a lot! We have stayed 5 times so far and we haven’t had any problems!
- 5/5
Will come again.
- 3/5
Dated and a bit worn down
- 4/5
This is a pretty hotel and close to the water. Very updated with good space in the rooms and nice amenities especially the pool but the food and staff isn’t that great and the parking situation is awful. The first night we got in late after a long drive and the restaurant was still open but we were told that we could not sit down that we could only take food to go so I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my little one and a salad for myself. For the price of the salad it was very mediocre, and the grilled cheese was burnt and barely edible for $16. Parking only had valet or street parking but with a little one and a bunch of luggage it is really hard to park in the street so I chose the valet option which is very expensive. Every day it was a hassle to get the car and it took forever even though they would text you that they were there you would get down there and it wasn’t there. Lastly, the café was nice and convenient to have however, the staff was kind of rude and when they messed up my drink order they were more annoyed at me than themselves. Overall it’s a decent hotel with great amenities just have realistic expectations of how you’ll be treated, parking and what you’ll eat.
- 4/5
Nice hotel and a great stay

They wouldn’t
- 4/5
Breakfast wasn’t worth it in the Terrane. Room service options for dinner were very limited. Otherwise hotel was clean and well appointed.
- 5/5
The staff was lovely. The pool was amazing. The light in the sauna was on, sometimes.
- 5/5
This was a fantastic place to stay in Portland and will recommend to all of our friends. Clean, quiet and very comfortable. Very safe place and easy to access, staff were friendly, welcoming and polite so want to make a huge shout out to them! We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. One suggestion in the future is to let people know about the parking ahead of time if they haven’t been there before. Especially if new to Portland. It was awesome otherwise

Read my previous review
- 5/5
Room was great, walkable distance, safe, breakfast was great and staff were friendly and spoke many languages! I was impressed 💕
- 5/5
Such a lovely hotel . Staff was fabulous and very helpful . Very clean , quite .
- 4/5
Both options of exploring downtown or staying at resort are inviting. The resort has enough amenities to stay at resort to use the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, courtyard garden, rooftop bar and restaurants. Or go out to explore downtown Portland with walking distances to all downtown activities. Parking will be an additional cost with either valet or garage parking.
- 4/5
Great location, clean and quiet room, and super comfortable bed!! However, the staff at the hotel restaurant and the check-in area were so short and borderline rude. Not gracious at all, except for one very polite older lady who was beyond kind and helped us out with our luggage when we were checking out. She was the only one that was polite.
- 5/5
Very nice place.
- 4/5
Sleek modern and cozy rooms, soft bedding. Didnt really like their dining options and their only parking option was vallet.
- 5/5
Front desk stored our bikes for us!
- 5/5
pillows helped me to sleep in
- 5/5
Everything about my stay I was satisfied, I personally loved the pool and the rooftop bar!
- 5/5
Great place right near the waterfront, very walkable neighborhood with food options (the Ramen place nearby is delicious). Clean, comfy room. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Everyone here seems to go above and beyond to make the experience great, and I appreciate the bonuses as a Hilton member. Love the rooftop bar, attached restaurant/lounge, and cafe - really makes it convenient whether I'm getting ready for a busy day or winding down after a big event.
- 5/5
Very clean.
- 5/5
Very impressed by this hotel. Evelyn at the front desk was very nice. Dining options were amazing.
- 4/5
And neighbors in room next door loud partying late hours into morning hrs. Not hotels fault but walls need noise insulation.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. We had a corner room which was clean and well put together. The bar / restaurant upstaires is nice and welcoming. Would recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
everything is very good
- 2/5
I didn't like the restaurant. It took a long time to serve the food. The prices of the dishes were very expensive. The breakfast was expensive and the wait was terrible. More staff was needed to make it faster. There was only one person at breakfast to serve..

Great staff

Lovely lovely staff, fantastic rooms, and perfect location. It was super quiet, they did a great job on the soundproofing.
- 4/5
The sofa bed is comfortable then others
- 5/5
Clean, courteous, professional, and comfortable
- 1/5
The top floor bar was the rude. At night, the lobby desk person was rude. The only person who was kind was our waitress. Everyone else made us feel like we we were a burden. Hotel is beautiful. Staff made us feel unwelcome. Won’t stay here again.
- 4/5
Pretty great.
- 5/5
Wonderful property!
- 3/5
The company they use for valet parking screwed me over - they would not get back to me to rectify it and over charged me for a night of the parking garage I ended up never getting. The restaurants have VERY LIMITED menus. Better dining elsewhere. Front desk staff could be nice or rude depending on the person or day.
- 5/5
2nd time staying here. The area of town feels safe and clean and quiet, but close enough to walk to all the action. Close to the river too, where we had our morning walks. Service is great. Rooms are good - comfy beds. Pool and gym are an added bonus!
- 3/5
The Porter was modern and nice, however the lighting in the room was pretty dim. We left our room at 11 in the morning and even though we requested fresh wash cloths at least, no one came to clean the room or replace the washcloths. The dead bolt didn't work. The lotion bottle was empty. But none of these things warranted a review compared to the clock alarm going off at 5:50am. That at least we could turn off. The neighboring alarm going off at 6am, apparently in an empty room, we couldn't. The front desk didn't seem to care at all, but at least said they'd let the cleaning crew know... so hopefully this doesn't happen to you. And yes, we should know to always check the alarm. But who uses an alarm clock any more?
- 5/5
Very comfortable, close to everything
- 2/5
our bathroom door one side was broken it didn’t close so there was no privacy and that really made our experience poor we would like to shower or use the restroom with some privacy and we just didn’t get that especially with how much we paid it just did make sense
- 4/5
Very nice, quiet, and comfy rooms!
- 4/5
Nice hotel, only downside was the room we stayed in we could hear the elevator all night.
- 5/5
👍
- 5/5
I just want to say thank you for an amazing service, this was my second time staying in this hotel and I will continue to stay here in the future, thank you for an amazing experience for me and my children.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Lovely staff and easy to check in. They only have valet parking and it’s $70 a night, which was a little steep for us. There is parking garages across the street for way less that I’d recommend using.
- 4/5
When we arrived no one was at the check-in desk and there was a line.
- 2/5
Unfortunately upon my arrival I immediately felt a low level of hospitality and a lack of explanation of any amenities that this location had to offer. - I did try to inquire about the hotel, but felt uncomfortable and like they just wanted me to take my room keys and go. There were issues with my reservation, even though I had confirmed it multiple times. When I went to check out this morning I noticed pending charges, when I asked the front desk about them they were unsure/unclear as to why they were there. I am happy I was checking my bank account. Our stay felt clunky, unwelcoming and uncomfortable. It’s a shame because the property is beautiful.
- 5/5
Very close to the Keller auditorium
