My Place Hotel-Portland East, OR

Absolutely great property, very clean, nice & helpful staff. Bed comfortable but a bit on the firm side for our liking. Best to bring your own pillow if you are use to something a bit thicker. Loved finding out, there is a blow dryer provided and the refrigerator was apartment sized. Oh, and the super comfy recliner.... CONS: If you plan on cooking, be sure to bring your own post, pans, knives, dishes, utensils, cups, mugs, extra dish soap, spounge and napkins. Don't plan on leaving them behind for the next person, per the front desk person, they have to put them in lost & found. Additionally, it's not on their website.

The hotel was clean probably not in the best section of town but I felt safe. The property was clean, the rooms were clean and very comfortable

The location was perfect for the night, as we had a 5 am flight. Bed was comfy. I’ve traveled to 49 states and stayed at many hotels during my travels, and until this hotel stay had never had a hotel physically call me at 9 pm to ask me what time I was going to check in. I’m not sure if this was a hospitable move or them trying to give my room to someone else for the night because I was arriving late. The lady at the front desk also signed me up for the rewards program without my permission and the room smelled like cigarette smoke when we walked in. Had I literally not needed the room for more than 5 hours tops, I would have requested a different one.

This is a no frills hotel. With that in mind, the kitchenette was wonderful, with a full size refrigerator and great ice maker. However, there is not a table with chairs to eat on. There is a chair at the desk which allows one person to eat comfortably. The bathroom is a nice size with shelves to keep your bathroom items on. There is a huge 3 drawer dresser for clothes as well as an open closet for your hanging items. The hotel has snacks, drinks and a laundry room for additional costs. The front desk area has coffee and tea bags for free. The beds are comfortable and the AC worked very well. We did not have any issues parking. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Check in Staff had excellent customer service care. She was wearing many hats upon arrival and was very accommodating and attentive. The new ac/heater functioned perfectly. The hotel is near freeway so if you are a light sleeper keep that in mind. The room has a black out shade but no curtains for the side or bottom of the window. The room was clean but the carpet was damp so socks got wet and felt sticky. Parking lot was well lit.

Noise at 3:00 am was unbearable

This place was horrible. They offer kitchenettes, however, there are no pots, pans, anything to cook with. Also the staff was extremely rude. I was gone and my girlfriend was going up to our room when she was approached by the front desk in the elevator, in public spaces of the hotel, and was repeatedly asked "what's your room number". She was a guest of the hotel and was on the reservation. She felt extremely uncomfortable saying out loud which room number she was in as she was alone at the time while I was off at work. It made her extremely uncomfortable. I reached out to the hotel and was hung up on twice, by supposedly the front desk manager and the general manager. They told me it was "policy to ask people which room they are in especially because they didn't see her before". Well of course they weren't the ones who checked us in. I was trying to give them my email address as I wanted to see this so called "policy" they have. When I did, they hung up on me. I booked a different hotel and had her leave. This place is TERRIBLE and would never recommend anyone to this place. Unprofessional staff and nasty rooms.

My only concerns were with the refrigerator in the room. While we didn't need to use it and it was very clean, the motor on it was very loud when we were trying to sleep.

Wonderful atmosphere. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Rooms exceeded expectations. Beds were very comfortable. Centrally located and easy to access. Definitely visit near by Elmer’s Restaurant!! Great food and the most incredible service!!

Parking is difficult late at night if hotel is full. Staff is great. Room was clean. Bring your own pots, pans, dishes, etc if you want to cook. There are none in the room. Great water pressure! Great price , too. Right off of I-84.

The place around the building gives some concern, but had no issues. Lots of other larger vehicles made it difficult to park. Campers, Semi's taking up large patches of parking spaces.

This is a great location, quiet property and affordable. Second time we have stayed. Not sure we will be back unfortunately. Gave it a second try because it has a lot of attributes but both times the whole place smells like weed. The moment we walked in the lobby that was first impression. The hallways, elevator etc. Thankfully, the room did not. First impressions are everything and not all hotels have this issue. Need to figure it out.

Very clean and I came over to have surgery and was offered to get checked in early and let us check out late so my mother could stay until I got out of the hospital , which was all around great. Also very nice room with everything you could need for your stay!

The overall experience with the staff was unwelcoming. Hardly anyone smiling, greeting, or offering any assistance during my stay whatsoever. There were carts and vacuums hitting the room wall/door. I was awakened at 3am (and my dog startled) by what sounded like someone throwing a mop bucket with all of their might at a wall (or into the storage areas by room 111). They would do that and then repeatedly slam the surrounding doors. It was awful and disruptive. Especially because it frequently occurred during early morning or late night (sleeping) hours. This fact alone, I won’t book again, or recommend My Place hotels. Not a good first experience!

The room was a great size. I worked from the room and used the large refrigerator in the room. Having a bath was very nice—especially after long days on my feet. Bed was comfortable. It’s a no frills stay and great for work/business trips. Not far from the airport.

Rooms were huge. Was there to work and setup a nice “office space”. Was great having the bathtub.

I would say this is the cleanest hotel room I ever been in. Staffs are friendly and they have free coffee and hot water 24hrs available. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my future visits.

The room was very clean, but we were there for 4 days and never saw any cleaning staff, room was never refreshed during our stay. We had to ask for more coffee and garbage bags at the front desk. The hotel was quiet and comfortable, lots of homeless and garbage all around the block around the building, typical of all of portland , but we were hoping for better since we were outside of down town.

As I pulled the covers back to get in the bed I noticed a pee smell. After some investigating I found a huge, dried, pee stain on the mattress cover. I requested a new room and none were available. I had to go down to the front desk to get new linens and change the bed myself. Staff didn't even apologize.

I have stayed at this hotel the last three times I visited Portland. It is clean, comfortable, convenient to where I need to go, has a kitchen, and allows pets. The staff is professional and friendly. My only suggestion is that they put a trash can or two in the parking area so we can throw the dog waste somewhere away from the building doors.

The sheets smelled heavily bleached and were super wrinkled like it was used so I was not sure if the bedding was changed or not. Kind of grossed me out. So I slept in the chair. I should of asked for the sheets to be changed. For the price breakfast should of been included. It was pretty noisy too with doors banging late after 11 pm. Was in Oregon for 8 nights and this was our least favorite place to stay.

Property and rooms were clean, apart from what may have been pet stains in the halls and stairwell carpets and a slight pet odor in the rooms. Kitchenette with full-size fridge with freezer and ice maker, plus sink, cooktop and garage disposal. Just need to bring or borrow pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. Bathroom had hug lit mirror, tub/shower combo, bar soap for sink and wall mounted (and locked) shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Two rolls of toilet paper hanging and box of tissues. Plenty of towels. Bed was hard and uncomfortable to sleep or sit. Four pillows and I couldn’t find one that was comfortable, that’ll teach me to leave home without my pillow. Plenty of bedding. In room controlable heat and air, worked well and kept cool in August heat. TV seemed to have plenty of channels and may have been HDMI and Bluetooth capable. There is a doggy designated area but it’s small, hope you don’t have a picky pooper. Most of the hotel staff seemed different from what I’m accustomed to experiencing. They were available and provided help upon request, but there was just something missing. Plenty of quick food, soda and snacks for sale in lobby plus 24/7 free coffee available. Walking distance to fast food, short driving distance to grocery store.

Only stayed one night, but it was nice and clean. It was very close to the highway, so a little noisy.

As for the room, it was thoroughly cleaned with the exception of one small towel hanging from the shower curtain - an easy miss. We’ll definitely be back.

We loved the room and the cleanliness. It was a very nice stay. The young lady manning the desk was not polite and seemed to be put out that she had to help us.

Walking the dog felt like a very unsafe area regardless if it was day or night. I did not like this hotel because they over charged me $400 on my vacation. Because checking in they did something wrong. That's $400 gone on my vacation and I'm still waiting for the charge back. But tbh, that ruined my spending power and buying stuff for the convention i was going to. This was not incidentals nor the pet fee.

The room floor was just very dirty. I move the chair and trash was underneath. Did not feel comfortable to walk around barefoot or in socks.

The staff at the front desk was not unfriendly, but I did not really get a warm vibe either—I do not even remember seeing her smile. Still, it was not a big deal for me. The location is fantastic and really easy to get to, which was a big plus. Overall, I would happily stay here again!

Parking area is well lit and feels somewhat safe. Our room on 4th floor was clean and spacious with good size window. Air conditioning with limited options and can seem louder than usual. Large refrigerator is much appreciated. Water pressures in kitchenette and shower were excellent.

It was ok. Bed was comfortable and it was clean so that's my main concern. The location was convenient for where we were going but it was an industrial area and the cheap hotel next door was home to some transient people and feral children. No frills.. breakfast was brought the night before and was a microwavable burrito and a sad piece of fruit. The price was right and the people were super nice. For future users they were building a starbucks in the same parking lot so that will be great.

We chose this hotel for its location near the airport. The hotel was decently clean with comfortable beds. However, there are almost zero amenities. No ice, breakfast, pool or hot tub. There wasn’t even shampoo and conditioner. For the money, I felt I should’ve chosen a different hotel with more amenities. They do have a full size fridge, freezer and a small range if you happen to have your own pans.

The "queen bed" felt a little small. The AC worked great and the room felt spacious. The desk on wheels was convenient and could be used as a bedside table. Staff was friendly. Phone to ring staff after hours was somewhat hard to find. The area had a "peekaboo" view of hills in the distance. Surrounding buildings were mostly other hotels.

The lobby had me questioning how nice the rooms would be but very pleasantly surprised! Everything was clean and new. Felt very safe as well. Only weird thing was someone trying to enter our room and showing me she was told our room was hers.

Area isn't the best, but not the worst. Can hear the planes from the airport and seemed like a lot of car racing or loud cars so can not sleep with the window open at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was updated and modern. Kitchen has literally no dishes or utensils or anything. Not sure why have a kitchen if there isn't even a spoon to use. Bed was adequately comfortable.

I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I had a confirmed booking, but when I arrived, I was shocked to find out they had overbooked and had no rooms available for me. What’s worse, they never bothered to call or message to inform me in advance. We were left scrambling to find new accommodation at the last minute, which was incredibly stressful and completely unacceptable. This level of unprofessionalism is not something I would expect from any hotel. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Place was easy to find and the room was excellent. It has this modern look to it so it was nice staying there with my wife and 3 kids. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars is because it took about 5 minutes for someone to check the front to see that I was there waiting to check in when I arrived. Also our room had no hand wash soap and both the body wash and conditioner were out.

Check in was abysmal as their system was down and the customer service recovery was very lacking. We were not informed about the status of the computers until after 20 mins in line. The stay was great otherwise, comfy beds, clean linens, and typical thickness of wall for hotels

It was a nice clean hotel. The area was a little questionable after dark but otherwise ok. The staff was friendly and the room was large and nice. The only thing I didn’t like is I couldn’t get a few extra towels. They only give new towels if you turn in the dirty ones. We were 4 women traveling and we all have really long hair, so 1 towel isn’t always enough. Otherwise it was fine overall great price for what we got

I think the only thing I missed was it has cooking burners and microwave and that but they don't have plates and stuff like that which is not a problem because I have my own stuff.! definitely will come back! The young man at the counter was very knowledgeable and very nice!

It is a nice place to stay at, close to the airport, city, stores, food, and much more. Parking is super convenient. The beds are comfortable, room is spacious, and I like that there’s a stove offered if anyone wants to cook. There is a lack of food offered (breakfast), though there are some drinks offered like hot water / coffee machine and others. There are some food, silverware and cooking utensils offered at the lobby for purchase. I did find an ant in the bathroom floor crawling. Besides that, bathroom is nice. Overall, it was a nice stay. I would stay here again. Thanks!
