Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, convenient location, and excellent service. However, some guests have complained about unexpected parking fees, thin walls, and uncomfortable beds. Additionally, there have been a few reports of bed bugs and cockroaches.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Clean and comfortable and very little to no noise at night. I was there a Saturday to a Sunday. The only thing I did not like was that parking was to be paid in cash. The thing I did like was that parking was only $10 and that is much less than most hotels in the area.

Very clean, cozy. Owners very nice, was attending graduation ceremony close bye and they let me keep my car parked till graduation was over

When I arrived I was on the phone sitting in my car and who I'm going to assume was one of the managers came up and knocked on my window and when I rolled it down was very rude and told me o couldn't park here. I explained I was on the phone and I had a reservation was just finishing my call then would be checking in. She told me to either check in or leave the parking lot! If I could have canceled and not had to pay for the room I would not have stayed. My sister stopped by to drop off my medicine on her way threw town as I live in medford and it was not a planned trip(mom flown to OHSU) I was putting on my shoes so we could leave and staff knocked on the door telling me I had to pay for another person, I explained we were leaving and she was not staying. They told us to either pay or she needed to go! All in all not a place I would stay again for the simple fact the staff are rude!

It's a very basic motel. It's clean enough and not too old. There's a microwave and fridge for your convenience. If you want to park your car, it's $10/ day which is very reasonable. The location was ideal for us as it's very close to Portland State University, where our child goes to school. It made visiting them extremely convenient

Very courteous, helpful staff. Clean rooms. The room's A/c unit works but could use repair / replacement to reduce fan's noise and responsiveness.
- 5/5
This is great value for the money and near everything with, best of all, an attentive ownership unlike the human-less conveyer belt at supposedly better hotels. There is parking for a small fee unlike most downtown hotels, and it's the best of the ones that do.
- 5/5
A very convenient and comfortable room. It's near a gas station and a university, and there are food stalls right next to it. A very good place for one night stay.

Exceptional service! Very clean and accommodating. One adult, queen bed, cable, small fridge/freezer and microwave. Onsight parking for $10. Was in town for a show at Alladin theater and uber ride was less than $8. Also, many food carts next door with several staying open until midnight! Close I-5 freeway access.

Honestly cheap, good. There are some food trucks right across the street. A cvs around the counter. Great for a quick stay in a good area.
- 4/5
Good location
- 4/5
Clean nice updated rooms in an old school hotel. Great location for OHSU appointments. Food trucks across the street were a big plus!
- 4/5
Great for what it is. No frills and the manager seems to keep the building safe from escorts and other undesirables. Decently clean room
- 5/5
This is a very comfortable motel. It had everything I needed as it was close to OHSU where my husband had surgery. There were food trucks across the street, very convenient. The staff is very pleasant and I felt safe there.
- 5/5
Room clean and staff very nice. Food trucks across the street made it so we didn’t have to go out for dinner. Bed was very comfortable. Location was perfect for us because was very close to the VA medical center. Will choose this place again for next visit to the VA .
- 5/5
Room was decent, parking was available

My stay was very nice. Cleaning and gave towels without me even asking. Clean room
- 5/5
Clean, convenient and friendly staff
- 4/5
Much better than you would expect for a walkup-style hotel in downtown Portland. It was clean enough, it was quiet, and it felt safe. The location is fantastic, with an abundance of transit and conveniences within walking distance, including a row of food trucks where I ate a couple times. Any gripes about the room are minor: one towel was questionably stained (all the others were fine) and they use flat sheets on the bed which don't stay in place nicely like fitted sheets. But at this price point, for such a fantastic location, those are things I can live with!
- 5/5
Courteous, clean, and pleasant all around! Unmatched value for the neighborhood.
- 1/5
Staff very dishonest tried to double bill me, They had paperwork to show booking had been changed, They showed it to me then realised what it said, snatched it back and hid it in a drawer. Place also very ghetto and had a funky smell to it! would never go there again
- 4/5
fairly clean, staff nice
- 5/5
Great little place to stay. Right across the street from a bunch of food trucks. The staff was so kind and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 2/5
The staff made it seem like we were inconviencing them when the tv didnt work.
- 4/5
Clean room but the toilet clogged
- 4/5
The room was clean, comfortable, and sufficient for my brief stay downtown. It was close to public transportation and the event I was attending, and had a huge choice of food trucks available across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Front desk was friendly, room was clean
- 3/5
It was fine. Close walking distance to food trucks and venues.
- 5/5
Super convenient, quiet and safe location. The staff was nice and always attentive of our needs. Having the food trucks across the street was a nice treat, as well as coffee places close by. It’s my place to stay next time I visit Portland!
- 5/5
The eoom was clean and check in was was, the hotel is in a good locstion mostly 8 to 10 minutes drive to the places we want it to go
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, conveniently located. Place was small but cozy. For the price, better than I expected. My only complaint is having to pay for parking. Unless there is some city code that requires the motel to charge, it seems exploitive to add that extra charge.
- 5/5

The hotel is situated in a great location close to several dining options, including food trucks right across the street. It is conveniently located to bus and train stops. The staff at the front desk are very helpful. Room is clean and bed is comfortable.

- 4/5
The room was relatively large and clean. The location was convenient.
- 5/5
Great location for walking to PSU and exploring the Portland downtown via the light rail, street car and other public transportation.
- 4/5
Was convenient. But the top blankets just seem old and need to be replaced. But aight. ;)
- 4/5
Third time staying in this property and would stay again with no hesitation. Econolodge punches above it's weight with the in-room amenities it offers, location, price, and accessible parking. For it's price, you get a pretty spacious room with a microwave, a mini fridge, ironing board & iron, and good water pressure in the shower. Only downsides are the limited toiletries (two travel size mini shampoo bottles, two tiny soap bars) and how dry the customer service was. In previous stays the front desk associate was very upbeat and friendly, this time there were two and both of them were dry. I also forgot an item in the room, called after checking out to report it and the associate claims to have looked for the item (which was left inside one of the drawers) but couldn't find it and wanted to get me off the line quick.
- 5/5
Very well-managed and well-kept, this motel is a superb deal relative to its room prices. The owners are extremely friendly and pleasant. The hotel is very conveniently located, just yards away from food cards, streetcar stations, tram stations, and Portland State Univ’. I will also mention how easily accessible this hotel is from Portland’s interstate freeways (I-5 and I-84). Great place!
- 3/5
Good value. Nothing fancy but good rooms and great location.
- 2/5

- 3/5
The TV was broken… I didn’t want to even bother to ask since I had to walk down to the reception….
- 5/5
Perfect location in Downtown Portland with everything within 15 minutes of walking. Staff was very friendly and the area was quieter than I thought it would be. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Its not an upscale property but its great if you want something convenient and affordable.
- 4/5
Perfectly fine.
- 5/5
They we both very nice and helpful, I asked if could be placed in a first floor room due my mobility disability, they were able to accommodate us and even privided me with plastic ware when the restaurant that we ordered foid from didn't include it. Quiet location with a nice view of the west hills Portland area. Clean room. Definitely recommending it
- 5/5
The motel is dated but it's clean and comfortable. The location was safe and perfect...near OHSU and places to eat within walking distance. The staff is great.
- 5/5
Nice and convenient
- 5/5
Dated motel but clean, comfortable and great air conditioning. Close to downtown and other amenities. Easy in and easy out.
- 1/5
staff was very rude, i made a reservation on expedia and he argued with us about being 19 years old and not 21 which is “policy” but then 10 minutes later he checked us in no problem.
- 5/5
Would happily stay here again! Great location!
- 5/5
The television did not work but I was ok in all, my son was at OHSU having surgery so I needed a place to get some rest
- 3/5
Location was ok but would be great if you are simply looking to get to PSU. Saw some stains on some bedding and towels so that could definitely be addressed. Stayed for two nights but will probably seek a cleaner looking hotel room elsewhere.
- 5/5
Well managed
- 4/5
Rooms are very clean. Bedding is clean fresh and comfortable. The furnishings in the room however were well past their prime. Wall near the shower had water damage. This inn is a very solid good value and experience.
- 5/5
A no-frills hotel that is clean with excellent customer service. We were in a great location-- literal steps from public transit, a CVS and small grocery store, the University of Portland, green spaces, plus coffee houses and food trucks. Exactly what we were hoping for! My family and I had a great time exploring the city. The coffee in the front office was excellent. My kids discovered the excellent lamb gyros at the first food truck directly across the street-- they went back for the overstuffed gyros and excellent conversation several times. Ask the tall, friendly owner to make them extra spicy! We also recommend the cheese naan and Thai pot stickers/pad se ew at two other little food trucks a little further down in the food truck pod. We will be back!
- 5/5
I loved this place, super close to food and coffees in the morning. Greeted by very nice people. The room was clean and the bathroom. In room fridge and microwave. Safe parking.
- 5/5
Attentive and polite staff. Thank you.
- 5/5
I got there around 2:30 and they had the room ready before 3:00. and let me go in my room early.

Room was fine but had a strange smell (maybe cleaning supplies, maybe not). Hair dryer not affixed well to the wall so basically fell off when we went to use it. Front desk staff not always easy to communicate with (they were nice just not sure they understood us).
- 3/5
Found the room smelled very strongly of cleaning products as soon as we entered. The bed and bathroom were clean but the floor surfaces felt slightly greasy which I did not like. Staff was very friendly otherwise
- 4/5
Good room, clean, great location for walking into town or public transport close by

- 4/5
Good place to stay thats affordable with a good location.
- 1/5
I called the front desk to inquire about the room and their policies, the man at the front desk was rude and kept hanging the phone up. He even answered the phone and left my voice talking while he placed the phone down. I was desperate at 2 am PST. I went to the location and was told checkout was at 1 pm but that was a lie. It was actually 11am now I know that’s standard but don’t lie to me to try and collect a late fee. The man at the front desk was upset that I chose to book through Expedia rather than purchasing with him directly. He began to talk to me in a manner to try to get a reaction being rude and even saying just because I booked through Expedia he can say all spots are filled. The room was horrible and smelled like cigarettes. Rips on the bedding and a leaking sound from the mini refrigerator. Luckily I only needed one night DO NOT GO HERE.
- 5/5
Decent place to stay. Nothing fancy.
- 5/5
Great motel , will be back definitely
- 3/5
The experience was so average that is hard to say anything good or bad. If anything, there was no coffee maker in the room, and my dad likes hid coffee in the morning.
- 5/5
Clean, affordable, staff were incredibly kind
- 5/5
It was great. Bathroom was nice. Close to the University and train and bus stops.

You do have to pay for parking, but the lot is decent. The place was pretty clean. The staff were courteous and communicative. It’s a cheaper hotel, but it wasn’t bad for the price. A little better than I expected, to be honest.
- 5/5
Everything was great, except the bed made a lot of noise
- 5/5
Very quiet & clean
- 4/5
Perfect little hotel in the heart of downtown Portland, food trucks across the road and a 15 min walk to the overpriced hotels who charge an arm and a leg plus parking fees
- 2/5
Exactly what you would expect from a 2 star hotel. Thin walls and all night activity. Great location though.
- 4/5
Very good place to stay for the price. Rooms are dated but clean. Be aware that you will have to pay an extra fee for parking ($10.00).

Great location if you're taking public transportation. Close to the FX2 bus stop and Max line. A variety of food trucks are across the street. Rooms provide a fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. Complimentary coffee is available at the front office.
- 5/5
This was just the hotel I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable.
- 2/5
I can live with very basic amenities, which this was, but I do expect clean. The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was black mold in the bathroom, hair in the bathtub, stained sheets and comforter. My pillow had a red mark that looked like blood, and there were weirdly shoe prints on the ceiling….. thankfully it smelled fine, but this was the grossest place I’ve ever stayed in and I’m a budget hotel person.
- 5/5
This motel was the best day we have ever had in Portland! No, it did not have a pool or a hot tub or a balcony, but it was very clean, very peaceful and ran by the sweetest family we have ever met! It is also conveniently placed next to the best East Indian food trailers we have ever experienced! What an amazing stay and we plan on always staying there each and every time we go to an event or concert. We recommend it highly to anyone and everyone who wants a nice, quiet, comfortable, safe place to stay the night or more.
- 5/5
Very quiet place. Food vendors closed by. I would like to come and stay for a couple nights or so if I have to.Very nice area.

- 5/5
Very friendly service, clean room, excellent experience. Thank you!
- 4/5
It was a good place to stay for a night or two. I did end up sleeping on the floor because the bed was really uncomfortable. Other than fhat it was decent.
- 5/5
Quite, safe and Close for my appointment at OSHU Easy parking but a $10.00 charge The only problem that I had with his facility was loose toilet seat Staff was awesome
- 5/5
Great room at an affordable price.
- 1/5
Unfortunately the roadworks outside kept me up all night. I was promised a refund by the front desk but they didn’t want to issue it there and then when I checked out. When when I got back in touch this never materialised. I checked out after two nights but paid for four.
- 1/5
There is night construction happening outside of this motel starting 2AM in the morning. DO NOT BOOK HERE! I tried to request for a refund for the last two night because I cannot sleep through the LOUD night construction. The front desk said they would give me a refund but they did not give me the refund through Expedia. NO REFUNDS NO MATTER THE SITUATION! It’s not worth staying here. FYI the construction is not going to be done any time soon.
- 4/5
Dave at the front desk was super nice. Clean little motel room. Soft mattress. Plenty of dining options around including a ton of food trucks. Close to Portland University. Noisy area, mostly due to construction. AC unit was loud enough to drown much of it out.
- 3/5
I loved it except the cleanliness
- 5/5
Everything good
- 4/5
Good location and with some good eating options nearby for those on a budget (it's right by the university). The room was basic but clean and would have been better with coffee making facilities. Car park is tight but the price was reasonable.
- 5/5
Our stay was nice! Although, we didn’t spend much time in our room, it was very clean and we felt very comfortable. Check-in was easy. The room had a mini fridge and microwave. Also came with shampoo and bars of soap. We will definitely be back soon.
- 4/5

- 4/5
We were looking for an affordable hotel while we were in Portland. This was it. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. Beds were super comfy. No extras like coffee maker in room but coffee available in office. It’s not fancy but it was perfect for what we needed and for the price point. We walked around downtown easily. Many awesome food trucks right across the street which was amazing. Great experience.
- 5/5
The owners were awesome and very accommodating.
- 5/5
There is a $10 parking fee, but it's well worth it. Management takes pride in offering great value
- 5/5
The owners are awesome and very accommodating. I had a great safe stay and definitely would come back
- 4/5
This place is really cute, great owners that are so sweet and really helpful. It’s not the Ritz but I will stay here anytime I am back in Portland!!!

Very clean, nice bathroom. Comfy bed and pillows. My husband had eye surgery that day, close to Casey Eye Institute.
- 3/5
hard mattress. surprise parking fee. small room, no place to open luggage except the bed. could hear other guests through wall, even at 2 AM. However, best price for a hotel downtown, even with the parking fee.
- 5/5
This was a very convenient, clean, safe place to stay. The service was excellent. I would stay there again!
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the service was excellent. This hotel is convenient, and reasonably priced. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
We were staying in Portland for the guy basketball weekend. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. The food truck lot across the street was very convenient. The train station was one block away that took us right to Moda Center. I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great stay. Staff was very friendly. Felt safe. Room was clean and modern and bed was comfortable. Great rate. Great location, would come back again! :)
- 4/5
Was actually decent
- 4/5
Power was out and below freezing so this place did the job! No coffee maker in room. Across from a few food carts.
- 5/5
The front desk people are absolutely wonderful and helpful!
- 4/5
Make sure you know you have to pay extra for parking
- 5/5
This location was great. I got in late but gentleman in lobby was waiting on me. Very nice guy and his wife was too. The room was quiet and clean. The parking lot was well lit and i felt fine safety wise when i walked down for a coke. 1 block away are some really delicious and authentic food trucks open till midnight. Its a door open to outside, but id definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Apparently a pipe burst upstairs and water came flooding out of a vent in the bathroom ceiling. Water started to come into the main room. We had to move all of our things to another room so the manager could deal with it.
- 4/5
It was close to the MADE Bike Show event we were in town for and filled all our lodging needs.
- 5/5
This is a traditional motel in downtown Portland which is well maintained and run by very efficient and helpful management.
- 4/5
Good for the price in the city center, but just don't have your hopes up. There was dusty smell in room, street outside doesn't feel safe. But it was surprisingly (relatively) quiet at night, just regular city noises. Breakfast is a joke, be ready to eat somewhere else. Pets are not allowed and they are serious about that. Easy to get to the major attractions of Portland.
- 4/5
.
- 3/5
Hotel is very well located and walkable. The TV in our room did not work and I spilled some water on the floor and used a hand towel to wipe it up, and the result was a black hand towel… that’s how dirty the floor in my room was. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and the price was right.
- 4/5
I like to the fact that you could have all of those food carts that were there to choose from.
- 4/5
Internet was not available for 48 hours straight. Had to use my phone data to work on my computer.
- 5/5
The hotel was easy to find since we are not that familiar with the Portland area. It was a nice, simple hotel located right across the street from a line of food trucks, which made our dining options much easier. The hotel does have a parking lot, but it's very small and can't handle any really large vehicles..... we have a mini-van and it fit perfectly. Clean rooms and just right for an overnight stay.
- 2/5
Overall the property seemed good, my room was a good size and looked clean. However, after getting out of the shower in the morning, I found a live cockroach on the bedside table. I took pictures, collected my belongings and went to check out. The front desk attendant simply told me thanks for letting them know about cockroach, and that was it.... Check your alarm clocks if you stay, the cockroach ran into a switchopening on the alarm clock... If you find a live roach while it is light, the infestation has to be pretty bad...
