I love the guesthouse and the location. There are quite a few nice restaurants within a short walk and I can walk to Mount Tabor, which I love. I like the communal aspects to the guesthouse and had a number of interesting conversations in the kitchen. Your breakfast food is high quality. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and so are the pillows! There was nothing I didn't like. I have been coming to the Bluebird and the Evermore for about 10 years, and it always meets a high standard.

Amazing property right on Division. We were in town to see a show at the Tomorrow Theatre across the street so location was 10/10. Easy access to the house/room and the continental breakfast spread was impressive. Would and will book again the next time we stay the night in Portland.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. I loved the house and its character. Location was great. Next to awesome restaurants (you have to try Cibo!) and not too far from downtown. Not a single TV in the place, which was a nice way to relax and disconnect. Breakfast was simple, but very well stocked and featuring local products. Would totally stay here again.

Lovely old house in a really pleasant, lively, highly walkable neighborhood. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time just sitting around reading and relaxing in the house's common areas (comfy, overstuffed couches and chairs, gently scuffed antique tables and cabinets, quirky old decor, lots of books), even though there were loads of excellent places to eat and drink up and down the street outside. Excellent kitchen facilities with plenty of breakfast food and drink on hand. Highly recommended. no complaints.

This charming B&B is located a short drive from Reed college in a neighborhood full of cafe, restaurants, funky little shops. The serve-yourself breakfast has lots of options (pastries, cereals, yogurt, fruit etc.) The rooms are named after famous local writers, and the Victorian decor is fun. Although most of the rooms have private bathrooms, in some cases your "private" bathroom is outside the room - you have to walk a couple of yards down the hallway to get to it.

Very comfortable and the location is ideal. Great restuarants, bakeries, bars, etc all within a block or three. Well worth it but there are a couple downsides. It's an older house so creaky floors, and its located on a busy road. No matter, we would stay here again for sure.

Breakfast options were enough to provide variety. Lovely old house with nice main floor furnishings. Very homey feel and amazing location right in the heart of a fun, vibrant neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shops. My bed was a bit wallowed out - the mattress needs to be replaced. To access the private bathroom, I had to walk into the hallway, which was a bit inconvenient but not a problem, per se.

They keep breakfast items at the fridge so they're easily accessible. The location is great - walking distance to a bunch of cool stuff. The house itself is pretty quiet considering it was built in the early 1900s and there are other guests staying. I slept well the two nights I was there. The contact people at the property are very responsive. My only regret is that I didn't book directly with them. I booked a room that has a separate bathroom and the logistics of that were difficult to get used to, it's kind of like staying at your grandma's house and you can't go out however you want to the bathroom because your cousins are down the hall

Wonderful location on Division near great eating and fun shops. Walking distance to Hawthorne atop! Like a classic “bed and breakfast.” bonus for long stays: free washer and dryer! Friendly staff, comfy rooms (tho we were in the basement, not the best view).

    2/5

The house is old and the stairs creak. I had a basement room and the noise was intrusive until about 11 pm. I would not stay there again because of this noise. They need to take remediative steps to make sure the steps and the floor do not make noise if they are renting basement rooms. I was very tired all day after trying to sleep there.

Great location nearest excellent eateries on Crossing Street and fun shops. Wonderful sweet room. Only complaints is there was this creepy light that shined over the bed for a few minutes when you turned out the light --super creepy and the people in the house above us came in very late, like 2am, creeking about so awoken and for some of us, it's hard to go back to sleep. Wash available if your mid trip and need to wash your things. Super convenient and cozy.

Bluebird Guesthouse is exactly as described. I had an issue with my room as I thought I had booked a room with an en-suite bathroom (per Expedia message). However, upon check in this was not the case. Tiffany and Chris were so helpful and it worked out that a room with en-suite bathroom was available and they were able to move me over. I was so thankful for their help! Next time I will book directly through the property. Otherwise, they had great breakfast options readily available. Other guests was so respectful and quiet at appropriate hours. I was able to find street parking in the neighborhood. And there are so many fantastic restaurants, coffee and dessert shops within easy walking distance. I would stay here again.

We were in the Gabriel Marquez room, the room on the first floor with a fireplace room right outside it. It was spacious and clean. The clawfoot tub was a bit difficult to climb in and out of, but the shower was good. The handle for the hot water is loose and fell off several times, but it still operated. I would stay here again.

LOVED staying in this 1910 guesthouse! Craftsman style architecture, plenty of built-ins, clawfoot tub, sky-light window to fall asleep under…the house definitely displayed its age but well-kept and clean! Our bathroom was literally next to our room, which I wasn’t thrilled with at first, but really didn’t mind as the house was pretty quiet and private. Breakfast options were the best around and staff was friendly. I’m more of a private person, so the self-check in and check-out were perfect, and we were able to eat by ourselves in the enclosed porch area. I could see street parking might be an issue on busier nights, but we had no problem finding a space, and even if you have to walk, it’s worth it. Thank you!

Right in the heart of my favorite part of Portland. Comfy beds, very clean, cozy homey rooms. Really everything one could need. My only complaint is the A/C in the Kinsey room is loud. But in the middle of summer, you need to have it on.

We have always stayed in hotels when we have travelled to Portland in the past, but we have been curious about trying this guest house, and on our recent trip, we finally tried it. What a pleasant surprise! The room was very comfortable, the self-service kitchen was well stocked with various food items to feed the guests with cereals, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. It had the feel of staying in the guest room at a friend's house. Very sweet. We will stay there again the next time we visit Portland.

Room was clean and fine. There wasnt temperature control in these old rooms and the thermostat for the baseboard heating was right next to the window so the heat kept kicking on during the night. Took me a while to figure out the problem. The duvet was very warm and while there were sheets in the cupboard that guests could out on, making a bed when you arrive and are tired feels a little underwhelming. The location was great. The street is pretty loud and we needed the windows open for air so i would suggest ear plugs. Might be nice to provide these to guests. Was glad i had brought my laptop for watching tv.

Staying at the Guesthouse felt like a throwback to a gentler, more community-minded era. The room was lovely with a super comfy bed. It was the first night on a long trip of one-night stays that I slept well. The kitchen was generously stocked with breakfast supplies and snacks. Right around the corner was a food truck ally, had a delicious dinner (Indian food). Great neighborhood, but most importantly, the lovely, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere at Bluebird Guesthouse. Thank you!

My only reason for not giving five stars for property condition was that during the power outage of 1/9-1/10, the stairs to the basement rooms could have used emergency lighting of some kind--such as the cheap, battery operated devices that can be bought at any hardware store. The stairs were very dark! In fact, such lights could be installed in every room and corridor for very little money. Typically they are operated by touch and then turn on, providing limited hours of light during an emergency. Otherwise, I love the Bluebird guesthouse and plan more stays there this year!

The room was lovely and comfortable. We were not prepared for the "private bath" to be down the hallway. Also, entry to the guesthouse requires an access code for the security keypad. We were told we would receive the access code in an email message but we did not find an email. We were able to connect with the house manager (there is no staff on-site) by telephone and were informed the code would be in a text message. Breakfast is available in the kitchen but is do-it-yourself. The guesthouse is in an interesting neighborhood with dining and shopping available. On-street parking is available nearby.
