T he breakfast wait staff was welcoming and friendly.

The lady in charge of breakfast was very kind and attentive to everyone! Best breakfast ever at a Best Western!

Hotel staff was exceptionally friendly. Property was outdated and some of the amenities and room items didn’t work (Phone, lamps). We showed up and there was sand in the room and after staying there for a week the room was never serviced. We ended up having to get towels and other consumables our selves. I would stay here in a pinch but not with other options available for the price.

Walls are thin, room phone didn't work to call the desk so had to use cell phone. Breakfast was lacking - hiped up to think it was gonna be a good deal and outside of eggs and waffle, I couldn't eat any of it.

The room was clean, beds were comfortable but most important air conditioner working properly!

The staff was great I want to thank the ladys that checked me in they made it all really easy and helpful

Nice hotel near the beach

This was my second stay…and my LAST! These guys tried to charge me $20/ per room to check in2 hours early 2 rooms they said were ready. When I refused and came back in 2 hours, they claimed the rooms were not ready. We had to wait another hour. There are other and better hotels in the same price range. This one sucked.

There was some smells in the room

The Best Western was easy to get to and across the street was a very good place to eat. The room was big and we enjoyed the pool. The air conditioning was a little noisy.

I made a reservation for my husbands fishing trip. He , and my two sons supposed to stay in a double room with a sofa bed. They got to the room and it wasnt what i reserved. It was only two beds and NO SOFA BED! They got a air matress that wasnt good. Never again! It was horrible!!!

The property was very dirty, so since the the property was so dirty we didn’t even want to look at the room, so we canceled since we arrived so early in the morning and we went to Holiday Inn and there we were referred to Hotel Lydia and there was a room available this is a very clean hotel the rooms are excellent, beautiful with a full fridge and a kitchen, clean and very quiet, we were Blessed, the management is excellent and accommodating and the price was a lot less here than Best Western, the location is prime next to the pier and a park to fish and restaurants.

I didn't like that I could not enjoy some down time by the pool ..people were eating and drinking IN the pool not the pool area..IN the pool .

We choose this property, in part, due to its location. It’s right on an access road to the beach and centrally located to shopping and restaurants. My check-in was smooth. Clerk was helpful, upbeat and positive. Room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with multiple hot food choices, fresh waffles along with all the standard fare. Staff was active with food item refills and eating area was clean.

I have stayed here before and I love that it’s walking distance from the beach we also spent more time in the pool We spent most of the time out of the room but we did see very small roaches

Location Did somebody die in the room next to us and the staff didn’t say anything???!! We had our kids with us and they rented out the room the SAME DAY to a mom and her daughter. Absolutely insane.

No USB connections in room, only AC. Breakfast buffet was not good, overcooked eggs and stale bread items. Creamer for coffee was old. In room coffee creamer was hard as a rock.

Room although seemed okay (there was not visable mold) smelled like mold and the floor was constantly wet and sticky (laminate seemed to sweat from humidity vs AC.

The front desk was very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and the perfect size for me and my daughter. The location was not too far to walk to the beach and to the shops and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was the largest spread of food I have seen for a free breakfast. I will definitely be staying here again!!

The handicap-accessible room was comfortable, the lobby was nice, free cold water bottles was fantastic. The breakfast was very good. The lady serving the food was very sweet and accommodating. The warm swimming pool was wonderful. The room was good, but all 3 of us wished it had a walk-in shower instead of a tub. Even though I specifically requested maid service, we never received it. I also requested a shower chair but it was never delivered.

It looked nice in the pictures. The main issue is I booked a room with a king and a pullout bed. I was told AFTER the front desk had already confirmed and essentially checked me in that the room infact did not have a pull out. This is an entire bed gone from my room which was higky unacceptable. I was told there were no other rooms and was not offered any extra blankets or pillows. When I asked for the managers info she essentially said that he was already aware and working to get it updated. Kitchenette was not equipped cutting board no knife limited number of forks and spoons. Pans looked terrible and we're not non stick. Dishwasher didnt work right (didnt air dry) And safety hazard there was a broken doorstop that had a jagged sharp edge which I had to constantly ensure my wife and kids didnt accidentally go over in that area and hurt themselves. I will never stay at this or frankly any Best Western after the experience I had here. It's clear they dont invest in their property.

We reserved two rooms with pull out beds because we had children. No one told us the pullout beds are no longer a feature. We found out the first night we went to sleep. My adult daughter had to sleep on a small couch so her kids didn't have to sleep on the floor. I called to complain and was told "oh well". I have never paid for my family to sleep on the floor or a tiny sofa. We had been here before, but we will not be returning. My family are not dogs that can be mistreated

The staff was friendly, the room was clean, it was a big room with a lot of space, the room had a kitchen, which we didn’t need but convenient. I do like how the bathroom has a door. Some hotels don’t have locking doors on the bathroom door. Walking distance to restaurants was a plus.

This is a very neglected property. There was a gap in the door to our room that let pests in. The lobby had bookshelves hiding a huge mess with scraps of hotel parts like a junkyard. Breakfast was a bust. The only thing it had going for it is it's in a very convenient location.

The location and price are very good. We requested a handicap room and the toilet seat is certainly not high enough for a disabled person. The wand in the shower did not work, it leaked all of the water from the bottom of the handle. Also, I feel the quality of their breakfast has gone down in the last several months. Food is not warm and they only now have one waffle maker.

Comfortable beds and easy-to-adjust, accurate thermostat settings. No complaints! Very good place to stay here on the island, at a reasonable price.

Room was exceptionally clean. Had a very nice scent the whole visit. There was an ice storm happening during my visit yet the hot water was not only plentiful it came to tap almost instantly. Water pressure was amazing

As always the Best Western at Port A did not disappoint.

The hotel bathroom smelled, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the water in the toilet ran all night long. Trash cans overflowing next to the stairs as well as near the breakfast room.

The staff is amazing - very attentive! The breakfast is excellent - so many hot and cold choices. The rooms are spacious and clean.

The hotel is located next to a major highway. If you are a light sleeper, u will not be able to sleep due to Motorbike and vehicle noises. If you are a heavy sleeper, u will be k with this hotel as rooms are very clean.

The staff was the only good thing about this property. Very polite and welcoming. But the hotel is old and run down. The room smell mold. The toilet flush didn’t work. The AC was so noisy. The breakfast was crowded and the choice limited. The property looked like a cheap motel.

Breakfast was good, some of the dishes looked homemade. The room was clean except for the floor. It felt sandy/grimy. They probably need to mop or pay attention to the floor. The breakfast area was closed the morning we left. It would've been nice to grab a quick breakfast before heading home.

We had a second floor room and there was no elevator. No where in the information I saw about the property did it indicate there was no elevator. Since my husband and I are senior citizens, it was a challenge to get the luggage up the stairs.

We stayed 3 nights. The last morning, they did not serve breakfast. They said it had something to do with one of the employees. We were very disappointed. The breakfast is one of the big reasons we stay here. Everything else was good.

Check in was quick and easy. Friendly staff. However, cleaning staff started knocking loudly on the door at 9:15 AM when checkout is at 11:00.

The breakfast was okay for the value. One morning was better than the next, but it was sufficient to fuel us for the day. The cleanliness of the room was fair. The shower still had hair in it and the floor sand (but can understand this for the beach). What really turned me off was the stained towels and sheets the first night, but particularly the towels. I'd recommend they do a quality check before reusing for future guests.

I was incredibly disappointed with my stay. The room was downright filthy — dirty sheets that looked like they hadn’t been changed, a bathroom that reeked and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and random stains throughout. The internet connection constantly cut in and out, making it impossible to get any work done or relax with a show. Overall, the entire space felt neglected and unhygienic. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

It was a great vacation location

Drains would not drain properly, pull out bed was broken, housekeeping refused to clean our room or sweep daily. We had to leave early due to the room being unkept. We did make our own beds but we didn’t want to buy a broom to sweep daily. Black mood in the light fixtures . As housekeeping refused we had to use towels to walk around. Wind blow in a lot of sand. We had to get our own towels because they refused to bring us any.

the kitchen sink almost fall as it unglued from the top shelve. It was fixed in the next 2 hours which was very good! Also, the front desk provided cleaning towelettes to clean the tar balls found when walking at the beach. Very nice on their part!

There was not enough parking. The bed was hard could not fall asleep. Got in from my trip to take a shower there was no soap nor shampoo had to go to office to get what we needed. I will not be staying there again.

I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. It was hot and tasty. The shower had a good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

Our room needed a good cleaning. Whoever swept did not make it all the way to the walls. The shower curtain was not clean. Maintenance in a coastal location is hard but this BW needs to do better. Mildew lamp shades. The breakfast area was in very poor condition.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet provided was good. Housekeeping was very poor. Our room was only attended to once during our 5 night stay. The towels were changed once and I had to ask for a bathroom mat. The garbage was not removed from the room for 3 days. The accumulated garbage from the outdoor trash cans were left outside the rooms overnight. On the night before we checked out we had to kill a couple of roaches we found crawling in the rom. The management needs to address this housekeeping issue to maintain a clean and healthy environment.

Specifically called the hotel before leaving home to make sure they would have a crib/pack and play available for us. Upon arrival they said they have none available and that they only have 4 total and all are taken. Very disappointing and Extremely inconvenient with a baby!!

Great breakfast spread and friendly staff. The only down sides to our stay was the toilet was a bit janky and had problems flushing for my children as well as not so great water pressure.

The location is perfect. Some drawbacks: the pool was not very clean. I would have had no problem skimming it myself but there was none and the desk clerk didn’t have access to one. The room was not very clean. Many aspects overlooked. The floors were very dirty, sandy and dirty. Some corners of the room floors had stains which implies lack of attention. The shower drain was clogged. The wad of hair and gunk we pulled out of it was almost the size of a baseball. Again lack of attention, the tub either had not been cleaned or just overlooked the clogged drain, the water could not run without backing up until we unclogged it. So it should have been noticed. The fridge, Tv, cable, breakfast, were all great. But overall it seemed dirty. Felt safe, multiple families around, the high praise from family reviews made me chose this place, hadn’t stayed here in over 10 years probably. The mini suite room was good size and had a futon to serve as a couch which was nice. A little more attention or slightly higher standards of cleanness would go a long way here.

We really enjoyed our stay here over the weekend. The location was perfect and everything felt nice and clean. Breakfast was a nice bonus as well. We'll definitely choose best Western next time we come back.

This particular Best Western has always been consistently clean in the past and is still kept clean and up to date. They serve a tasty Free Breakfast with hot foods as well as fresh fruit and packaged pastries. The staff is respectful and helpful. The grounds are kept neat and it's located only a couple of blocks from the beach. It's a comfortable and safe place to stay in a convenient location within walking distance to stores & restaurants.

While the beds were comfortable, the whole room reeked heavily of ammonia resulting in a headache. Great water pressure in the shower and nice shampoo and conditioner provided. The sink barely drained.

The room did not have any towels in it or any tissues. Had to go get towels. The floor had leftover confetti all over from an Easter party before us and there was eggshells all over outside from the Easter party too.

Great location. It’s a short walk to the beach and even shorter walk to the Bier Haus which is a fun spot with good food and drink. Room was cold and clean, huge spread for breakfast and the waffles were yummy. Staff went above and beyond!

This is an average hotel with very nice employees. I would have rated it better until I saw the roach in my room and the old stains on the sheets. Additionally, the bathroom door didn't close, and I wasn't comfortable overall. The breakfast area was way too crowded for below average food.

Average location, nothing great but clean and quiet. Just stayed one night but had no complaints about our stay. Would stay again if in the area.

Ac did not work all night ! Was really hot and muggy in my room. I called the front and they sent some guy to check it at 1 in the morning which was really weird! On top of that the guy stood at my door way and stared at me until my husband closed the door on him cause he was being really weird . He made me room smell like armpits ! And he said that’s just how they work !! HORRIBLE !!!!!!

We had a great stay here for our beach vacation. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great: hot and fresh and there was plenty of staff bustling around helping guests and refilling food and cleaning tables/sweeping. Room service attendant was so sweet as well. Our room was very clean, of course there is some sand in places like the ottoman but this is a beach motel so unavoidable in my opinion. We parked right outside our room, it was very convenient. The atmosphere was lively at night but nothing disruptive. Just a fun atmosphere during Spring Break. We all felt very safe here and would stay again.

First off this property is a MOTEL, not a hotel as listed. It is quite obviously an older property that has been renovated with mixed results. For instance the doors are poorly hung and don’t close properly. It is easy to feel drafts and even see light around the door! The couch is perhaps the cheapest, most uncomfortable, hideaway bed in existence, the big stain on it didn’t help with the ambiance. Overall I give this property a hard pass especially considering there is a very nice Holiday Inn Express down the street.

When we first got into the room it smelt musty like it hadn’t been open for a good airing out.

Everything else was on par with how things usually are at this hotel, but no hot water despite us reporting the issue multiple times is hard to overlook.

Nice location and hotel. However, during our stay, a winter cold spell, the hotel was having hot water issues which made for a brisk shower.

Staff as always was great. Good bfast. coffee and water available throughout day. Room was fine and clean. Hotel seems to be going through a well deserved “facelift”. So hopefully they will tackle some of the rusting (which can be a challenge so close to the beach). Bed was very comfy. Water pressure in shower could be better. But for the price, you get alot more “bang for tour buck”. When I go to Port Aransas, this is where i stay.

When we arrived, my daughter’s first question was: “Is the pool open?” The desk clerk replied, “Unfortunately, no.” It was around 9 pm, so I just assumed that the late hour was the reason. —Then we were given our keys and headed to the room. The “hotel” is actually a “motel”. The doors all open— and windows all face— toward the parking lot. We also saw signs that said the pool was “under construction “. My kid is like a fish. She was dying to swim on this trip, so I started looking around at other hotels in the area. Ultimately, here is what I realized… The breakfast at this Best Western has a lot of options for families. I’m vegan, so I didn’t have many— but my daughter did, and that was more important. Furthermore, the woman working the breakfast room is just phenomenally kind and attentive. I tipped her each day we stayed and added more on at the end because she was just so nice, caring, and welcoming. When I started looking at lodging in a similar area, some reviews mentioned mold, some mentioned rude staff… the Best Western’s staff were all kind and helpful, and our room was clean; no mold or mildew. Parking was never an issue, and we like to walk, so the beach and many other attractions were within a reasonable distance for us. I’m grateful we stayed. (The pool was finally done late on our last night there, and my daughter took a dip before we left in the morning.)

The only complaint I can think of was having to ask for extra towels. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was also great! Very nice and friendly staff. Would recommend to others and would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was incredible. Was cooked well, always hot . The 3 days we had breakfast were at different times even close to be closed and still had the same food as if we came in when it first opened up at 6:30. The breakfast attendant was probably the best we have ever seen. She was very helpful, tables cleaned immediately.. even when someone used toaster crumbs picked up and wiped down. The waffle area very neat . She would come around and ask us if we needed anything. Fill our coffee if she noticed it low. The atmosphere in entire front desk to dinning area to a small library had a very inviting scent. Over all for a Best Western one of the best we have stayed in. Swimming pool was set at 90 degrees so it felt amazing when it was cold and drizzling during the days and nights.. It was very nice to be treated like a person when it came down to being a smoker and not feel like trash because of it. To have a area to sit down and smoke with plenty of ash trays, hanging ,butts bins or stand up bins for cigarette butts in a very well lighted , covered like a small picnic area even though at the end of parking lot with nice plants on a smoke free property. Was nice and as a female not feeling safe having to walking out off the property at night and not being afraid. All properties should understand how not being afraid because you smoke and not treated second class especially when dogs are treated better. With an area so should smokers.

The place is a dump! Don't be fooled by the outside appearance- the bathroom door was broken, the bathroom was cramped, the toilet was cracked, the showerhead was broken, and the paint is peeling

This our 4th time staying at this hotel. We travel to Port A every year for vacation. I would like to say that I have never had a bad experience with the hotel staff. Everyone is always so nice & helpful. The breakfast is great, with many options & the staff is always attentive & helpful. Unfortunately, the condition of our room was a disappointment. The age & wear and tear are starting to show. There is mold in the grout in the bathroom. The grout around the tub on the floor was dirty & grungy. The bathroom floor was not swept or vacuumed before it was mopped. Whatever they use to mop the floors had hairs dried into it, pretty gross. The 3 previous times we stayed, the beds were were so comfortable. I chose this hotel for this reason because I have a bad back & need a good mattress. We got a double queen room and both mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable. We also chose this hotel because they have always had the pool heated at this time of year. The weather was in the 80's during the day and in the 70's at night. The pool was not heated and it was freezing cold, even during the day. Everyone who came to the pool commented how cold it was. We were disappointed that we couldn't take an evening swim because the water was too cold. Sorry to say we probably won't come back here next year, mostly because of the beds and lack of cleanliness in the room.

I will come back every yearly . Awesome place clean and need staff are so per nice breakfast stuff thank you for all your help. I give 555 for that place .

Clean rooms and friendly staff.

It was a little loud with the people next door, but other than that it was a very nice stay.

motel was that we were staying upstairs and it was hard on my wife and I going up an down staircases all day. We are older folks an they didn't have an elevator. Their breakfast were fantastic though an worth the trips down for🙂

Close to the beach and shopping

Friendly staff, bed was comfy, room clean, easy parking and safe. Close to beach and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

We stay here most times when on the island. Great location and super convenient to everything on the island. Especially the beach
