Hotel, food and room were all great and beautiful but the only thing is so weird how the curtains in the room were not it… we had to sleep with all the outside lights coming in and also the microwave light as well at the bottom. And super hot at night time. But other than that, everything really cool

For a building built in the 50s it was well taken care and comfortable for our stay. I thought the staff and valet did a great job and were very friendly. . It was a short walk to restaurants and the beach and the nights were calm and quiet on the property so we slept great.

The staff was friendly. The front of the hotel, the lobby, the pool and outdoor bar area have a really nice old Florida vibe. However, the room was terrible. White cement walls. No decor. Window blinds were old and you could see in between the slats, not good privacy. My TV didn't work, even after I had someone come up and replace the remote. My friend, for whom I booked a separate room, had plumbing issues and had to change rooms

i’m a guest there they forced you to do valet parking valet is the biggest scam in Florida. I’m not an invalid. I don’t like them moving my seats touching what if I have my weapon in the vehicle I don’t like these people touching my vehicle. Would you let anybody into your home that doesn’t belong in the home the restaurant there we couldn’t use it. They said they were reservations there for three weeks already. We couldn’t use the restaurant at the hotel the continental breakfast they give you a box they give you a box it’s awful and it’s a very old hotel. I’m never gonna go there again. Expedia hide plenty of information when you book with them.

The location and that it was right next to the marina The floor was slippery and sticky. The room was crusty old. Looks like they tried to give it a makeover, but the showers in the bathroom was so old and outdated toilet didn’t flush right. And most of all I left my two pillows that were very expensive on the bed and when I called the same day I left they couldn’t find my pillows and they wouldn’t even call me back. I had to keep calling and they basically just told me that they didn’t find anything. Do not stay here.

The blinds were broken and unevenly cut. The shower head skeeted water on the floor. There were no amenities available to enjoy. The pool closed at 7pm. Had to pay $40 for resort fee and $50 a day for parking and had to use their valet, was inconvenient to have to get things from car. No breakfast was offered/mentioned. I loaded my car early so I dont have to do it last min at check out, went and sat by the pool, walked in room only to find 2 staff members in my room and I had not checked out. My purse and my guest items were still in the room. They were standing over our belongings. First of all they should've checked with the front desk to see if we checked out. The moment they saw belongings they should have immediately left the room. The female stated she thought we checked out and the male stated he was helping us with our luggage. That was a completely false. The male did not help with anything, other than, was about to help themselves to our purses and belongings. The building needs renovation the rooms was like a low budget motel. Those pictures posted are 30 years old.

Everything was so old!! The front door barely worked- I had to get a staff member to open it for me. No coffee pot in the room. All the areas were rickety and patched up. The sheets were clean, but the bed had serious dents from use. The room would NOT darken even ant night! Horrible shades and they have these blue lights glowing all night. The A/C was LOUD. Absolutely NO amenities like a simple USB plug! The staff was WONDERFUL. Very polite and helpful, with easy & fast check in and check out. Valet service was great.

I’m so happy we ignored the reviews. I’m not sure if the hotel has been revamped or something but overall the stay was wonderful and it’s right on the beach. Literally, you can walk to Pompano pier it takes less than six minutes and it was safe. The outside pool area was really nice. The bartending staff was excellent and they do happy hour and it sits right on the intercoastal. Only thing that I would say is not good is the 27 dollar a day parking I think that that actually should be factored into your hotel stay. It’s a bit excessive.

On the flip side, our (girl) bartender/server at our table next to the bar was excellent 😃👍 She greeted us with a smile and asked us how we were doing and also what we had planned for my birthday weekend. Our drinks and meals expedited without hesitation. The food was very good and plentiful. The pool and lounge chairs were a nice touch being on the inlet and all. Met Michael, Lola's GM was great! Greeted us and asked us how he could be of service to us. We either did not hear or forgot, but pool towels have to be given back the same day or you are charged for them. Told Michael about situation and he was able to contact the hotel GM who took the towels off of our bill. Other than that our weekend stay was awesome and convenient to be right next to my SCUBA Charter at the marina.

I got there late at 4:30 and check in is at 3:00 and I was told to go wait somewhere that my room was not ready. I said check in is at 3, I be you enforce the check-out time of 11. He said yes, I said I'm tired and I need a room. So he got the manager and a room magically appeared. I did not care for this at all. I got to the room, I have stayed there for 20 years, I did not see any room improvements. I had four vertical blinds on the floor. The sun was going to kill us in the morning. So I called the front desk, they said the guy would be up in 1/2 an hour. We waited, called back he said the guy was there. We said, no one has been to this room. He checked with the guy, and he had gone to the wrong room. He finally came and fixed the verticals. That should have been done before the guests arrived. The hotel was fine, just we did not notice any renovations to the rooms, only to the bar and restaurant area. We did not realize only all valet and extra charge per day for it. They said it is listed on their site. It was an ok stay, location, location, location.

The Sands is an older place, maybe built in the 60's? They did a light renovation a few years ago, so it is nice. But the best thing about the Sands is the view. They provide a nice little balcony, big enough for a small table and chairs, where you can fade away while watching the never ending boat traffic on the intercoastal. Look the other way and you have a distant ocean view which is also nice. When you first walk in the door to your room your eyes jump to the wall to wall windows and that special view. It is just fabulous. Lots of activity going on below, especially at Lola's bar and restaurant, which is very active, but not too loud. The staff is friendly and they provide coffee and a boxed breakfast of a bagel, yogurt and juice, which is nice.

We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott which was no issue to us and 1.1 miles from The Sand Resort. The cost I pre-paid stayed the same. Hopefully, I'll get to experience it during my next stay in Pompano Beach ⛱️.....

Place at best average. Rooms are outdated and washroom area very weird setup. I ordered a King via Hotels.com and paid for that Level. When i got there i had 2 queen beds. They said no guarantee for beds when ordered thru a 3rd party site. It was our anniversary, so this was a let down and no consideration. They gave away breakfast boxes for breakfast which was a nice touch, however orange was completely mouldy. Although we didnt use the pool, it did look nice. You can tell a lot of work went into making it what it is today. I think the price was steep for a very recent re-open. I felt there were a lot of kinks to work out. Breakfast is a cute idea, but seems very wasteful. We opted out the last day because I was only eating 1-2 things out of the box and my husband too. We didn't want to waste more food. I think the item choices were good, but a table or grab & go station seems more practical. I think there could still be an improvement with aesthetics. We saw buckled and broken doors, elevator was a little rough, and shower was touchy.

FAIR… At check in we did not receive our “king” room as reserved. It was stated that there was an issue because we had booked through a third party. But we were given a Queen double room for the same amount. However, we were not aware that we also had to pay a $40.00 resort fee and $25.00 per night parking fee. It would have been nice to be informed of the fees beforehand. Great shower/ bathroom and the beds were comfortable. But it is a very noisy locations.

Our room was cleanish but there were several broken or missing blinds. The floors felt sticky to our shoes and the noise was awful. All night doors were slamming, you could hear your neighbors and our air conditioning took forever to cool the room down. We had asked for a later check out but left as soon as we woke up. I had originally asked the front desk person, Daniel for a different room but he got very defensive and told me that, that was the room I picked so that was the room we were stuck with.

The staff was rude & unaware. It was as if they didn’t communicate with each other about anything and no matter what one staff member may have told you if it’s not the staff member you’re speaking with at that moment it didn’t matter. Housekeeping was by request but we requested them twice on Saturday and nobody ever came. We were then charged at $57 fee for damaged linen that no one on staff could explain. The complimentary breakfast was just a boxed breakfast, nothing worth writing home about. The pool is open dust to dawn, the Lola’s staff at the bar was nice & attentive but if you’re not sitting at the bar do no expect service. The manager, Raymond was the rudest person ever. He should not be in a customer service position, especially not management. Brittany and corrina would say they did something and then when you went to follow up it wouldn’t be done. Nothing about this place gave resort. Definitely take the money you’d spend here and spend it somewhere else. We saw multiple guest get into arguments with the front desk, which really rubbed me the wrong way. Never felt welcomed at all.

One of the cleanest hotels in the usa. Unfortunately, the rooms are connected to other rooms on both side and the front door of 202 or 203 needs replacing. Maintenance attempted to cover the damage door with a metal plate but left a “V” shaped open hole in the door. Room appears to have been broken into. Otherwise, great food, bar, pool and awesome staff. Maintenance needs to replace all the broken doors not Jimmy up with metal. Mandatory Valet!!

Room was outdated and not pretty inside . AC unit loud and almost impossible to sleep through the noise. Outdoor bar was nice and wait staff were nice and friendly . Staff not very aware of surrounding activities . The complimentary Continental Breakfast was a complete joke . In a to go box was an orange , a bagel a danish in a plastic bag , a small yogurt cup a small bottle of water and small juice container . A joke . Felt like I had an elementary school meal . Not worth the price .

I would give them 6 stars if I could. The staff was awesome. Brittany, Daniel and Raymond at the front desk absolutely saved my trip. My return flight was cancelled for 2 days due to bad weather and they went to great extents to keep me in the hotel, so that I did not have to go somewhere else- even though my current room had already booked out - as I was supposed to leave on Monday. All of the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere is very upbeat, the waterfront views are amazing and the food at their restaurant was excellent. The rooms are very clean and modern. Very close to the beach. I liked it so much that my wife and I have booked an extended vacation with them coming up. Highly recommended.

Night person at the front desk was rude and unprofessional. I was not informed that you needed to request on a daily basis for your room to be cleaned and clean towels. Once requested, it did not happen! I stayed for 3 nights with no cleaning, no trash emptied, but did get clean towels after I requested them at 9PM! I still do not understand my charges. I am a frequent tra veler for both business and pleasure and can't recall a worse stay. When hotel information states, "Breakfast included", no one thinks that's a box with a frozen bagel, etc. in a box that can barely make it to the room, without collapsing. VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY :( Training staff. Renovate rooms, particularly bathrooms.

Room was very hot because of the sun and the a/c wasn’t efficient. The real problem were the roaches. Short of tearing it down I doubt there is anything that can be done. They have changed the way you get food by the pool. No more grill so the food is much more formal. No more fish dip or steamed shrimp. Very pricey. Aperol spritz was almost $20 by the pool. Won’t be returning even though the location is amazing.

The location was great with beautiful views of the intercostal and from the 8th floor, you could see the Atlantic. The room, while large and spacious, was very dated. The doors were in poor condition with visible gaps all around and were very thin. You could hear the people nextdoor to you like they were in the same room (bathroom and body function noises included). The music from the bar down stairs was not muted at all by the door to the balcony. When the music at the bar stopped playing, there was a large yacht in the marina that started blaring their music and partied until well after 11 PM.The shower ran out of hot water mid-shower due to small hot water heaters that were under the sink in the bathroom. I was studying for a state exam so the constant noise was a big problem. It was bad enough that my AirPods muffled it to some degree but didn’t eliminate it entirely. I’d say if you are a spring breaker looking for a party spot, this is your place. For me as a business traveler, it’s a for sure no go.

We did not get the room I booked (King bed with pull out couch). At check in I was told: so sorry, but there was a mistake and they accidentally gave my room away. Since we were 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) they offered one (!) roll-away bed for free. There was no breakfast although the ad clearly states “ breakfast included”. They gave us 2 boxes that included a mini water bottle, a muffin and an apple. When we mentioned that we are a party of 4 guests, they said each room only gets two boxes. Makes NO sense! There is no free parking only valet at $25 per night. The pool looked green in the morning. Obviously it had not been cleaned in a while. We watched them sweep a lot of green algae together and eventually one of the staff got in the water in his underwear (!) to repair the pool light. The location is great and the view of the marina is beautiful. But at almost $300 for a regular night I don’t feel that I received what I paid for…

Decent hotel but no where near worth the price. The entrance is fixed up but the rest of the hotel is more motel 6 like. You are not told until after you book that they are going to charge a resort fee, which is apparently is because they have a pool. I have stayed at $39 a night hotels that have a pool. The hotel has a parking lot but you have to pay another $20 a day to park in it. The parking lot across the street doesnt allow overnight parking. The breakfast in the morning comes out in a little box like they are sending you off for a school field trip. Again not a bad hotel but between the high rates and extra fees there are a lot better hotels to stay in.

The furniture updates are very nice in the room. Specifically, the walls and doors looked as if they had been repainted too times. The blinds didn’t completely close(they let too much outside light through) and one blind broke off and fell down when we closed them.

The charge for the “Resort fee” which really doesn’t get you anything used to come with a credit at the bar prior to the remodel. This has been eliminated. We also showed up at 7:45pm to find the bar closing at 8 “Because we aren’t really open yet” even though there were a bunch of people there the staff didn’t want to stay a little longer and make the restaurant or themselves any extra money.

We have stayed many times at The Sands Hotel. The staff are incredible from the Manager Raymond, Housekeeping and Parking Attendant. The location on The Intercostal i is great, but the Restaurant has been closed for some time with limited selection. Not a place designed for kids. The rooms are good sized but not modern and lack electrical plugs. If your not needing a resort atmosphere and like the Intercoastal and a block from the Ocean this Hotel is a great Value with very good Staff.

Lovely snall hotel that gas been recentky updated. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Rooms have just been refone and are spacious and well appointed. Great tiki bar and pool over looking the intercoastal. Only problem is they do not have daily maid service unless you request it. We did request it,, but they never came. That was disappointing.

Worst hotel experince I've ever had! Which totally broke my heart since I grew up going to the Sands Harbor. There was a plumbing issue with toliet casuing it to flood into the bathroom and closet area. This happened in the morning. I left to go grab breakfast around 10am. I let staff at the front desk know the situation and that I would be back later. I returned around 1:30pm and the issue had not been addressed. I called the front desk to let them know. Was never offered a room change. I was not able to use the bathroom or shower due to the issue not being addressed since the floor was still covered in water and toliet not working. I had to be at an event at 3pm which I was not able to shower or get cleaned up to attend this event. I stayed with a friend whom was still in the room till 5pm with no way of using the restroom unless they went down to the lobby. They decided to head out stopping at the front desk and asked again when the situation would be addressed. Staff still did not offer to chage rooms but would have the issue finally addressed. Disapponted is an understatement! This is absolutely unacceptable. Never in my life have I experienced anything like this.

From the moment I arrived, I was in awe. The entrance set a beautiful scene, and everything about my stay exceeded expectations. My room included a balcony—a wonderful surprise—and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Watching the sunset over Pompano Beach took my breath away. Even with renovations underway, the staff were consistently courteous and welcoming. I also had access to the nearby Residence Marriott for beach and pool use, plus dining—an added bonus that elevated the experience. I went jet skiing and had an amazing time. The nearby boardwalk was peaceful and picture-perfect for unwinding. Everything about Sands Harbor felt warm, inviting, and full of life. I honestly didn’t want to leave. This stay reminded me how beautiful and peaceful life can be by the water. I look forward to returning to Pompano Beach and staying at Sands Harbor again—it’s simply the best!

We got there late night after driving 9h. The room they gave us was occupied, this happened twice. We wait in the lobby for 1h30min and the hosted went room by room to check which one was available for us. We ended up with a room we didn’t pay for, meaning that we needed two queen beds and he gave us one king bed. Even when we got our room, we had people knocking on our door multiple times during night time because they also thought that was their room. Really bas service and experience

No restaurant, had to go down the street to get the free breakfast because they didn’t have a restaurant. The pool was down and couldn’t walk out to watch the sunset. All of the main reasons why we chose this location was not available. So frustrating. We ended up leaving a day early because we were that disappointed.

This was there first weekend open after a multi-month refurbishment. The first room I was in had a AC unit so loud I immediately requested a different room. The keys did not work in that room so had to go back to the lobby to rekey the cards. The floors were dirty in my and my friends room. Our feet got dirty walking on the floors in the rooms. One of the two elevators did not work on day two of my stay. The Pool and Restaurant were not open yet. They should be in a few months. The people were very nice. The lobby looks nice. It is not expensive, so maybe worth the cost.

Unfortunately every evening when we came back to the room there were cockroaches on the bar area. Upon checking out I mentioned this to the gentleman at the front desk. He said the room would have to be fumigated. We were wanting to stay another night as we love the area. I asked if we could possibly have a discount on a different room and he said they were almost full and would not offer any type of discount because he knew the hotel would fill up so we left.

Additionally, the breakfast consist of a “box” you have to get at the front desk before 10am. The box contained a yogurt (mine was expired) and apple and small bottled water. There is not a coffee maker in the room meaning you have to go downstairs every morning for coffee. Which you better hurry because they ran out. The bedding was the worse and the beds hard with springs being felt everywhere. Even the towels and washcloths are of very poor quality. I felt that the room never fully cooled off even with the air running continuously. And the walls are extremely thin as I could hear my neighbors sneeze and talk. I walked around the property to understand the “resort fee” but the only thing it had is a pool. This isn’t a very large pool and did not look very clean. It also was full of kids when I went down. The other amenity was an onsite restaurant that had very overpriced food.m and drinks. A glass of house wine was $12 and not a great selection. I cannot express in enough detail how much I disliked this hotel. The only positive was the location but it’s still a couple blocks from the beach. You can walk the drawbridge, which opens often for the boats if you want to try other restaurants but I would just recommend staying anywhere else!

The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The room felt like it had only been superficially cleaned, with some overlooked spots. The blankets were old and felt worn, and the safe in the room didn’t work properly. Additional charges included $25 for parking and a $22 accommodation fee, which felt excessive given the level of amenities provided. Overall, the price didn’t quite match the experience. With a bit more attention to detail and transparency, the stay could have been much more comfortable.

The location was great and the lobby and staff were good. But the quality of the room was atrocious. Bathroom was old and moldy. The towels were stained. The door to the balcony banged in the wind even when locked

Extremely disappointed of their continental breakfast ( they give you a box with a small water, a muffin and a yogurt and an apple) extremely disappointed! In my opinion they should just not provide any breakfast at all, I was looking for some eggs toast or bagel bacon or Canadian bacon with coffee and orange juice . Instead I got a white box and when I opened it ! I was horrified to see what was inside. 25$ parking fee is steep and the hotel fee was not indicated when I booked. Would I go back NO

I will never stay at this hotel again. I used to stay there all the time. To me they are just gouging the customers. After paying the rate for the room, they also may be paid $25 a night to park the car. If a guest came to visit you at the bar or any other area of the hotel, they charge the guest seven dollars an hour to park their car. They have a band there and that to me discourage people from coming to see the band and have to pay seven dollars an hour as they are coming there for dinner and drinks as well. The room was very nice However there is no microwave and there is no coffee maker. I guess they wanna make sure you only order from them. In the past my company used to do business with them when they were booking over 10 rooms a stay, and when I spoke to the gentleman at the desk, he seem to be totally interested. They don’t let you park the car yourself they force valet parking so you didn’t have to pay the $25 a day plus tip. Their free breakfast is a joke. It is a boxed breakfast, which means everything is cold and you do not get to select anything that goes in the box. They just hand you a box it is not like most buffet breakfasts at hotels like Holiday Inn, Marriott, etc..

Our stay at Sands Harbor Resort and Marina was nice & relaxing. Exactly what I was looking for a staycation for our spring break. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Room was big & nice the only thing was that the floor was a little dirty when we got in.

    1. Free breakfast. There are tons of hotels in this area, and one of the reasons we thought this one was a good value was because it included a free breakfast. Note that this breakfast was a box with an OJ, small muffin, a mini yogurt and an apple in it. It wasn't obvious that there was breakfast at all. Everyone had to ask the front desk clerk for it. This could have been better executed. 2. Door to the room. It didn't lock and unlock easily, and the latch on the door was broken, so we leaned a chair against the door during the night since it felt so insecure. Overall, I would call the property a mixed bag. Not terrible, but I'm glad we weren't there for more than a couple of days.

We had lunch there on site, and I left my purse at the restaurant. Our waiter Juan was kind enough to leave it at the front desk for me. The bed was comfortable, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We will be back.

Juliette at the front desk was amazing! The $10 credit at the pool restaurant is a nice offset to the resort fee and lack of a full breakfast we have had in prior years stays. Pool is great! Location is very convenient.

Your receptionist was cold and rude, and someone else in your staff said, "Hello, China," to me twice. Is this 1825, not 2025? Then my white husband showed up and the receptionist changed her demeanor. She was friendly and helpful to him.

First, I will never use Travelocity again because the way the property treated me as a Travelocity customer. They do not like Travelocity customers, and I quote "oh, you are one of those third party people". And, the pictures about Harbor Sands Resort are not what we saw when we checked in, nor is it the room we got. We and to pay hundreds more to get the room we paid for.

The hotel property is quite lovely especially the Palm tree murals, may I buy these? Wowee! The front desk staff is elequent, however the bartender/ waitress was very upsetting she did not come for my dinner order. I felt it was because I was alone. Very hurtful also because I did not receive my $20 for dining. The parking charge with hotel charge is a a better idea. Guests expect to pay for dining so I delete that charge. My room, as well as the view was beautiful because I love the Intercoastal with the yachts. The outside holiday decorations were charming. The parking fee is a nuisance fee. A wonderful stay.

The hotel has a beautiful view and a large, inviting pool, but cleanliness is a major issue. Walking barefoot in the room left my feet filthy, which was unacceptable. While the location is great, the lack of proper cleaning ruined the experience.

I was annoyed I had to pay a extra 22 dollars for a resort fee that allowed access to a closed pool, restaurant and bar. And extra for parking. The room and hotel was cute and staff was friendly

Arriving at hotel the valet employee was rude! His customer service needs improvement ! How hard is it to greet a guest???COURTNEY was amazing and employees like Juliette can learn how guest should be treated ! I asked Juliette what made this hotel a resort because I didn’t receive any amenities and resorts usually include something! Juliette response to me this morning at check out was that the pool was by the water !!! The way she spoke to me at checkout was very sour like her attitude ! Even had the audacity to be sarcastic with me as I walked out and I really didn’t appreciate that at all! I booked this room to get away, as I’m grieving the lost of my father !

I would stay here again. They let us check in early, the pool and restaurant were great and on the intercoastal waterway. The room was huge. This hotel has been remodeled from an older hotel and work was constantly being done while we were there. Easy walk to the pier, beach and restaurants. The breakfast is a box of basics but the coffee was good. You can eat outside with the lovely view. Price was very good for the value.

Maintenance needed for the rooms. The blinds near the window needs to be upgraded. I was upgraded to a room and the blinds was still an issue. You could've seen inside the hotel room because there are multiple gaps in the blinds.
