Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ft. Lauderdale-Plantation by IHG

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at for a long time. My only problem was the people staying next door or on the same level loud talking. I gave you a 10.

The staff was mostly friendly. The breakfast could have been slightly varied daily. The lobby area could be improved. When cleaning the elevator, please leave open as the chemical odor was overpowering when the elevator doors closed.

The location is good, and the breakfast is okay. My stay was disappointing. The air conditioning in the room was too noisy, which made it hard to sleep. When I arrived at 3:30 PM, the room wasn't ready, and I had to wait over 30 minutes at the reception while they looked for an available room. After a long drive, we had to wait in the car — which made our stay uncomfortable, and my children were unhappy as well.

The property is good. The problem is the AC constant rumbling non-stop noise non coming from the other units. It travels through the walls. It was hard to rest with all that noise going on 24hrs

The bathroom is due an upgrade. Finish scratched off tub, water backing up and couldn’t isolate shower and tub faucets. They ran simultaneously. The water pressure in the sink was very low. The room itself was neat and clean. I had to request a coffee station as there wasn’t one when we arrived. The breakfast options were fine.

A good basic hotel for a few nights. We chose this location for its location between sawgrass mills and fort lauderdale beach. We didn’t use the pool or gym but the room and breakfast were excellent value for money and the parking was easy. We would stay here again if in the area.

Clean room, friendly staff, and ample parking

This is a great hotel, conveniently located, very clean, decent size TV with plenty of channels to choose from. Breakfast was great, there is even a machine that makes pancakes in 2 minutes, very convenient. The staff was helpful and courteous.

The hotel is great for a family stay; the room and common areas are clean—only the bathroom was a bit neglected and poorly lit. Overall, it is very good.

The entire staff was very nice, especially those girls at the desk. The breakfast was good and hot. The dining area was clean. Our room was nice, big bed and clean common area. The bathroom could use a special touch, reminded me of a gym bathroom in a high school. My socks were nasty after walking in my stocking feet. Parking was simple and free. All in all it was a good stay. Oh, the pool area was not welcoming. No gardening, pool water was so-so clean looking. Though it is mid May, still Spring.

My only downside was the mattress. I generally do not prefer mattresses that are too firm, however, this one was extremely softer than I find comfortable (literally sank into the mattress). Although this was an emergency, last-minute stay, it turned out to be a pleasant one. I would recommend this hotel and would consider staying again.

The entire 5th floor AC was out, and the room AC was inefficient.

The beds were comfortable, and the shower was large and relaxing. Overall, the room setup was excellent. There were only two drawbacks during my stay. First, the thermostat did not work properly. The room became extremely cold, and I couldn’t get the temperature to stay at a comfortable setting, so I eventually had to turn on the heat to warm up the room. Second, the breakfast could have been better. The best items were the bagel and cream cheese, while the sausage patty was soaked with water and unfortunately inedible. Despite those issues, I had a great overall experience and would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are clean, location is close to the airport,shopping and restaurant. I would only luje them to have more luggage trollys for the guest.

First we had a room the bathroom did not flush. It did not work then they sent us to the other room it was as bad as the other room the tub when you take a shower the water is overflowing so they need to fix the whole pipe or do something about it the water system because it is not working for them. Staff got mad because we complained about the bathroom not working, so other staff came and gave us an other room and it’s like at this point I was done. So you mad cause I’m spending money and I wanna be happy.

That said, if you look closely, you can still notice some older details from the previous build. The door also does not block sound well because of the large gap underneath, so I could hear hallway noise clearly, even around 2 AM. The ceiling height felt quite low as well. Overall, it was a clean and pleasant stay with nice updates, but the soundproofing and older structural details could be improved

The room I was put in had no refrigerator, no kettle , no bin, phone wasn’t working and neither was the air conditioning. After several complaints , George from maintenance advocated for us to get a room change . Then I was blamed for the hotel getting a red flag based on my review . Terrible experience .

Was not what I expected. She then explained there was a deposit. Then she said there was a $3 Parking fee which that fee isn’t posted anywhere on their website. The room was mid The ceiling was hanging and there were roaches in our room. When I checked out I wasn’t provided a receipt even when asked the clerk just said I was all good. I frequently go to Holiday Inns and this by far was One of the worst experiences.

To make matters worse, the shower didn’t drain properly, so water started pooling while I was using it. While I was relieved that my stay was only for one night, I expected much better quality for the price I paid. Overall, the condition of the room did not meet basic expectations.

I was on the 18th floor and all you could hear was sirens from ambulances going the hospital next door ! Absolute worst in the morning , but the location of the hospital was great !

The breakfast selections are fantastic and well stocked while you're eating! Food was tasty, but the pancake maker continuously stayed in dis-repair. Overall, for the money, it was okay. I would stay there again, if the location and financial aspect made sense, otherwise I'd probably try somewhere new.

Had to book a room because the power was out at my house and would not be on until 3am. Checked in at 7:30pm, had some food watched TV and went to bed. As soon as the TV was off I could hear water dripping from the a/c in the room above mine onto my a/c. A constant dripping sound every 20-30 seconds.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. However, the hotel itself can use an update. Breakfast get zero stars. Machines need to be replaced. They only had orange juice. Apple juice was pure water. Cranberry juice was non existent. Location is good. Parking is limited.

We had a great stay my only complaint is there was one coffee station and the wait time was a little long also there needs to be a sleeve that goes around the cup because it’s super hot to hold the cup coffee goes in.

Convenient location and good breakfast

Paying for parking where you’re staying at is crazy to me, realistically why do you not have parking for your guests covered! Additionally we also had to pay for packages being dropped off for us. Phone in the room didn’t work. But I will say this the staff was really nice, front desk really did great trying to accommodate us and answer questions. Breakfast was regular.

The breakfast is pretty bad and nothing but sugar-laden options. I walked next door to Denny's all 3 days for scrambled eggs and toast that was cooked fresh.

Poor water pressure, almost non existent usb charging outlets broken, coffee machine busted. Room roughed up. Would never ever return and was told water pressure is issue on property that is a major infrastructure problem, getting offered another room would not solve problem.

The room was cleaner and better than I thought it would be. I traveled with my mom she was very happy with the room and the lower level floor the overnight front desk provided. The hotel staff did not clean the room everyday which was a bit disappointing but definitely not a deal breaker. The morning breakfast buffet was pretty good but after 2-3 days it became very bland, no bacon or different options every other day. We did love the Pancake maker it was great, might have to search for a mini version. My mom loved the option of having Spanish/English church service on Sunday as she was not able to attend her own. There was a staff member Maria Jose that I gave her a very good tip to share with her coworkers, not sure if she was able to split with the other kitchen assistant. All an All, I was very delighted going to the Holiday Inn. Thank you!

We just need a place to sleep. The property was sufficient for our needs.

TV was old and 0 ability to have any streaming and inly local cable shows. Loud first floor. 0 parking unless you walk around building-freezing cold water for shower.

We booked a suite and it was huge. Ok, it was dated but it was great. So many different areas within the room! A dining table, a living area with a sofa and gigantic TV, a balcony with a table and chairs, a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower in the bath and a sink, another sink with a vanity mirror, a walk in wardrobe area and a bedroom with another large TV. The bed was really comfy and the shower was hot. The staff at the hotel were also really friendly. It felt like the 1990s but I liked that!

Clean & comfortable rooms. Obvious effort to modernize rooms. Spacious. Reception were welcoming and helpful. Hotel was clean & breakfast included in our room rate though we did not use it. It was a bit of a hike from reception to our room so if you have mobility concerns I would mention this during the booking process. Many of the rooms on our 4th floor hallway looked at if someone had tried to pry the doors open (this was a bit unsettling) but rooms were secure and we felt safe in the hotel.

They are always very friendly here, and Hasina is a bright start to your breakfast experience.

We had a pleasant stay overall and would like to highlight the excellent assistance provided by Sandra, who was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our visit. We have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions and have always had a positive experience. However, we were disappointed to learn that the hotel has recently started charging for parking, which was not the case before. This change negatively impacted our overall perception of the stay.

The rooms were very clean. Maria was a fantastic help. 10/10 recommend.

We had no hot water for 2 days literally cold water coming out of the shower when it was set to hot water only. no room services on our second day. No coffee maker in room had to request one.

The people across from me where so loud. It sounded like they were in the room with me. I was also informed of a parking fee upon check in. I picked this hotel only because it said there was no parking fee.

Old , needs renovation. Was not clean in areas / front lobby counter staff was little rude, maybe they need an overhaul also.

We arrived at 330 and was told it would be 15mins til it was ready. Check in is 3pm. We didn’t get a room until 5pm! They said they were busy and didn’t have towels. We were only staying until 230am this morning. So was a waste of money they didn’t even offer a credit

Staff were helpful and courteous. Room was spacious with a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Breakfast was included and was basic but adequate. Room surfaces were dusty however, I had to ask for it to be wiped down but they apologized and took care of it immediately. Location was very good with lots of eating places and a Publix grocery and Walgreens in easy walking distance.

Secondary nobody ever cleaned our room as we were there for two nights. I came back from a busy day to my soiled towels from the night before that were still kind of wet. When I went to call down to housekeeping, they were nice enough to bring us some more stuff but to come to find out that the bathmat that was supposed to be clean was actually still dirty so I wasn’t very happy there either. The lobby seemed very well kept and taken care of and so did the dining room but when it came to the elevators and some of the staff, they seemed that they did not care. The only time that I felt that the staff did well was the breakfast staff who was very polite and kept that area very clean. And then whomever worked the Monday morning we checked out she was apologetic.

The room was honestly not what was posted. Specifically the bathroom. There wasn't even a toilet paper holder. The shower design allowed water to spray all over the bathroom. Requiring multiple towels each shower to mom up. And creating a very unsafe tile situation.

The place is filthy, from the lobby, to the elevator, to the carpet, to the room. Place is very outdated. We usually like Holiday Inn Express but this one is a real dump. Had to move to another hotel because the heater didn’t work, unseasonably cold weather, but regardless, HVAC should work.

Tub filled with water up to my ankles, noise level from hallway was terribly loud especially when people were coming & going after midnight. Felt like the room was a college dorm instead of a Holiday Inn Express property. Overpriced for a one night Saturday stay and I won’t be going back.

I stayed for 3 nights. They gave me a first floor room with just sink in the bathroom. Much below expectations and below advertised. Poor quality. Breakfast was fine and staff were ok. Phone doesn’t work, exhaust doesn’t work, coffee maker doesn’t work and list goes on. They gave me a different room on the second day after so much of discussion and asking which was ok.

The air seemed to be broken and the room was quiet stuffy. The technician even though he was very kind walked into my room without a knock apparently the hotel staff did not advise him I was there. Luckily I was not undressing or taking a shower. I don't think I'll be staying there again.

The room was not properly prepared. Upon checking I had to ask for iron and ironing board. The entrance door to the room was old,dingy with old paint. The tub /shower was not cleaned properly. I requested daily cleaning that was not provided. I had to pick up towels from the desk because I didn’t get room service. The breakfast could have been better.

The hotel looked like they slapped some paint on it but overall the facilities looked outdated there is more parking on the side of the building but the ramp for your luggage was a block away from the exit door … makes no sense

The location was good. All the employees were very nice and accommodating. We did have ants in our room. I did mention it to the reservation clerk when we checked out so they could take care of it for the next person.

The room smelled musty the whole stay. Our toilet chain kept falling off, so we had to keep the top off to be able to fix it ourselves. No one wants maintenance coming in when they are not present. We were made aware of a parking fee when we arrived, but then upon check-out another woman said there was no parking fee. The bathroom vanity was broken. The tv channels were out of service. The faucet water pressure was non-existent. This is definitely a local, cheap stay. The pictures did the property justice. It's old and crusty inside.

Good location. Good value. Staff extraordinarily rude. Checked in at 10:30pm. The lady that checked me in was one of the rudest people I've ever met. Also, I asked one of the maids for an extra coffee pod and she felt the need to give me smart-ass remarks.

However, what detracted from the experience was the fact that the $50 per stay incidentals was still not refunded back to the payment account 2 weeks after the date of check out. It still has not been refunded and IHG, the parent company of Holiday Inn is intervening on my behalf. Let's see what happens. If my $50 incidentals charge is not refunded, I will be forced to file a claim with my credit card.

Staff was great. Breakfast was what I expected. Main reason for rating is the room doors looked like someone tried to break into all of them. Also, pillows were too low. Maybe have a set of higher/firm and a set of soft for options.

1st room didn’t smell fresh and room was too small. Got 2nd room and it smelt better. However, room service was very poor. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and room was never cleaned. Only got fresh towels once. Garbage was never taken out!! The condiments such as the cookies was extremely hard. The cups used for drinking water was very weak within seconds of getting water. A big smelly dog was allowed in the breakfast dining room!! This was not a service dog!!! Fire alarm went off and no one said anything about it and it was late at night. Location of elevators was very poor!! Front desk staff could have been more friendly to guests. TV stations for the sports games was cut off while watching. However, none sports stations continued to play. Having a central TV in the lobby area with full access to cable or streaming channels would’ve been great!! Maria who is a new member of who was helping out on the 12th of December is an exemplary member of staff. The breakfast had closed but there was a vulnerable elderly person and she did everything she could to make sure that he had something to eat..

The hotel staff was excellent, very courteous and responsive. Breakfast was also very good and had an excellent variety. The room was definitely clean. However, the condition off the room was old, especially the bathrooms. Though it was clearly cleaned (as much as it could be), rusted shower fixtures and aged scraped bath tub was less than appealing. It wasn’t a bad stay but not one I intend on repeating. Again though the staff and service were top notch.

This hotel is in a relatively nice area. But the rooms are not clean when one checks in, and they do not get cleaned until I called the desk on the second day. Every night when I returned after my day there was a crowd of people hooting and hollering, blasting music and smoking weed openly just outside the front door. The elevators were dirty. The towels were not what one expects from HI Express. This location needs to have their franchise taken away.

The hotel was nice. My only complaint was the tables in the dinning room was unstable and rocky. I saw where persons had to put tissue paper under the table legs to stop it from rocking and turning over their food. I was also surprised to see that the maid service was not daily. I must say that there is a lot of cut backs these days all around the world.

The lady at the front desk was terrible when we checked in she was miserable and mean when we went to our room, the door wouldn’t open so we went back downstairs and she told us we just weren’t opening it right because we didn’t turn the handle, but yes we did so we went back up and she had to call maintenance and they ended up putting us in a different room. She was absolutely miserable. The whole day was terrible.

Check in was abrupt and not helpful. No luggage carts available and no help with luggage. Room was clean & comfortable with bizarre placement of liquid soap dispenser at the far end of the bathroom sink vanity! Also, VERY loud bathroom exhaust fan! Breakfast was busy & crowded with a variety of food. Check out was quick but had to ask for receipt. Unfortunately I didn't look at the receipt until after I left and discovered a SURPRISE $6 CHARGE FOR PARKING! This fee was NOT mentioned or disclosed anywhere on my reservation or when I registered and should be REFUNDED immediately! This was a self-park Holiday Inn Express...no garage, no valet, minimal service. Not a happy ending!

Overall it was a good one night stay for my trip the next morning.

However, I was unable to use the room telephone to schedule a wake-up call or call the front desk as there was no hotel directory on the phone or elsewhere. I used my cell phone to call the hotel but got reservations, who said she would transfer me. However, after a long wait, I got a different reservations person who said she would transfer me to the front desk, but after a very long wait I hung up and went to the front desk (in a separate building) where I was told the hotel phones weren't working. Because the phones weren't working, I was told someone would knock on our door at 7:00 a.m. No one knocked. Had my wife been up early, this might have been a problem since we had a flight to catch. We did not have a good night's rest since there was a police presence around and in the building that I saw when I went to the front desk at about 8:00 p.m. About 11:00 p.m., two police who were heavily armed like swat team members said that in about 1/2 hour we would hear a loud bang above us and that we could leave and come back. I said we would stay as we had to get up early. At about 2:00 a.m. the fire alarm went off and stayed on for some time before being stopped. We were ready to leave the building if it were on fire. We then when back to bed but the alarm went off again two separate times. My wife was/is very unhappy about the stay as she was unable to sleep much the rest of the night.

I got to the hotel after 4:00pm and my room wasn’t ready, had to wait for about 15mins. When I got to room 300 it had a king size bed. I went to the reception desk and told him I reserved a room with two double beds. He said, they didn’t have any double bed rooms available and gave me a suite, that I can pull out the sofa and change rooms the next day.

The room had an old Florida musty smell and it lacked an iron board, iron and ice bucket. Basics that should be there for guest. The hot water in the shower did not work well in the mornings. Good location and with more attention given to updating the rooms the hotel should receive a higher rating.

This was my first time staying at Holiday Inn & Suites, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. What I enjoyed: • Easy and smooth check-in process • Clean hotel and rooms – everything felt fresh and well-kept • Friendly staff and a welcoming foyer • Plenty of parking, which made things very convenient • Although I didn’t get to try the complimentary breakfast, I truly appreciate that it was available Minor Note: The AC in the room didn’t seem to cool very well, but since the weather was already nice and cool during my stay, it wasn’t a major concern at all. Suggestion for Improvement: In today’s streaming era, it would be a great upgrade if the TVs allowed guests to log into Netflix, YouTube, or other streaming services. Currently, the TV only offers their standard channels, which limits entertainment options. Overall: I had a great first experience and would definitely consider staying again!

Location was good in relation to the Ft Lauderdale area. Unfortunately had issues with the room in the form of an ant problem. Noticed ants when I was doing work from the computer desk provided in our room crawling all over the desk at night. More ants present on the table near the sofa and on the nightstand where the phone was located. Notified the front desk and they advised maintenance would come up which he did. Advised he would come back and probably to spray when we weren't there. We left for the day then later in the day asked someone else at the desk if the situation was rectified she checked the notes and didn't see any additions to if the problem was resolved. Unfortunately ants were still present in the room for the duration of our stay. In addition to this we also had noticed mold on the walls in the bathroom and in the sink area. A positive thing to note is the bed was comfy and room was spacious. We were hoping for a better experience at this hotel all around.

When I returned later, nothing had been done — towels were still on the floor, and no one followed up. Another guest on my floor had the same issue. I reported the problem again at checkout, but I still haven’t heard from a supervisor. This was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this location unless these issues are addressed.

This hotel has seen better days. I stayed here from 2015 to 2020, and it was great back then. The suite door was misaligned, making it hard to open and close properly. The room next to ours had a large dent, and the breakfast was subpar. Other family members stayed at another hotel a few miles down, which offered a hot breakfast. There was an unpleasant odor in the room, which I managed to get rid of with my Lysol spray. There is a section of the hotel where people were LIVING in the rooms as well. A guy would be by the side door smoking marijuana. Overall, I won't return, especially for us, a typical four-night stay w/taxes costs around $170.00. There are better and newer hotel options. The staff were great!

Very helpful front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast room staff. All of our needs we're met. Hotel is on University near the intersection of Sunrise. Both of which took us wherever we wanted to go. Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. A Denny's restaurant and 7/11 are within walking distance. McCallisters Deli (favorite sandwich place) is across the street. Would definitely stay here again.

The beds were very comfortable. We got fresh towels when we requested. HOWEVER...the front desk staff wasn't too friendly, I had to ask about breakfast area, no one told us about front desk cookies, I had to ask, and they were never available. I needed to use the desktop for work ( thankfully I bought my laptop) because the PC wasn't working and someone stole the mouse??? We had no iron in our room and had to wait 30 minutes for one ( after I called the front desk to ask of its status). My husband had gone downstairs personally to ask for one, but apparently no one wrote down the room number that was the reason for the delay. And the cherry on top...although breakfast on the weekend ends at 10 am, they had closed the entrance door at 9:30 am and would not bring out more eggs...

So,I spoke with a housekeeper that was vacuuming out front of our room.She immediately stopped what she was doing and went to the desk. 5 mins passed by.and,someone came in to remove the phone. "Oh,he can help you.he's the maintenance man" He heard the conversation. And he stated" I can't help you now. The overall experience was below expectations. There was an unpleasant odor in the hallway, and one of the elevators was out of service throughout my stay. The bathroom fixtures showed signs of poor maintenance — specifically, a cracked bath pipe and dirty shower curtains. Additionally, the room had a noticeable odor that affected overall comfort. This property would benefit from improved upkeep and attention to basic maintenance standards.

Clean hotel. Decent breakfast. Would have scored much higher except we were put on the first floor and there was a party on our last night. The party was very loud, very late and we had an early flight the next day. We got 3 hours of sleep. I reached out to the hotel and never heard anything. Highly disappointed with in the planning of the hotel putting us down the hall from a party room with party goers all around us!

My experience was pretty good, only you could’ve heard most doors on my floor open and close. So that was a tad bit annoying. Other than that I really loved the hotel and would definitely stay again.

The suite was nice & a pretty decent size.

A/C of my room was making sound super loud, really old amenities need a little upgrade

Business friendly

Most visitors are on vacation and need to get up later.

Clean freindly staff

My only criticism would be the parking availability; it was extremely limited for the amount of guests staying in both buildings. Outside of that, both my husband and I were extremely satisfied with our accommodations.

Beautiful building and property. Everything was clean. Will definitely be staying here again!

Customer service staff was nice snd polite. Most friendly. Our stay was for 10 nights. Our room was only attended to twice that we ran out of shower gel and toilet paper. Light at the entrance of the room was not working and flickered off and on. The ac cooling rattled and was loud that you itnwould wake you when i came on throughout the night. They advertised breakfast but what was offered everyday was the exact 6 options that it was prefered to eat elsewhere.

Propery is good and clean. Wish breakfast menu would change sometimes.

Raking should be provided for guests. The room was clean. The bathtub was clogged and water wasn’t flowing. Not my best stay here.

Great location, conveniently close to a shopping complex. I really like this property for its accessibility. Breakfast options could be expanded, but overall, it’s a very good property. Staff would benefit from some additional customer service training to further enhance the guest experience.

I loved the room it was very comfortable , but they need to take new towels daily .

I like location to malls and outlets, dining etc . I hated the package receipt and distribution. My package was misplaced
