The pictures are VERY misleading. It’s tired and needs alot of TLC. Definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. On a positive note the place was clean and breakfast was good.
- 1/5
Worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Pictures looked amazing online and came to something completely different. Paid for an upgraded room. Blinds were broken and thrown on the floor. No way to block people from seeing in the room. Toilet was broken and making pounding noises. Also in a VERY VERY bad area. Homeless people standing on street and in hotel parking lot.

There is much I can say, or be hyper critical on. But this truly was a gem for my time in Arizona. The pool was amazing after a long hot day, the breakfast was stunning. And let's not forget how accommodating and clean the rooms where. Thankfully the AC worked harder then I ever did on my trip. The only thing I didnt like isnt the hotels fault, its the heat.
- 4/5
Room was clean and loved having the restaurant right downstairs. Staff was extremely friendly. Spa was by appt only
- 3/5
Location was fairly good. Restaurant only had breakfast but it was very good and staff there was great. Not as advertised. Very neglected and websites misleading. No rooftop lounge, no instructions given as to hours, services, explanation of closures etc. Hope that some $$ will be infused. This place has potential. Staff is inconsistent. Some were especially good. Others could not care less.

Overall nice stay. Bargain for the price but the grounds could use a bit of an update. The best part of the stay was the free breakfast each morning, it was phenomenal.

It's a really unique and interesting hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. Its an older hotel, but the remodel makes it nice. The room was clean. The building is older so the bathroom, halls, elevators and ceilings are smaller dimensions than modern buildings. But the overall space of room was good and it was well decorated. Great bar, restaurant in the lobby. Every staff member from front desk to bar/restaurant was pleasant and helpful. Huge hot tub and neat pool atmosphere in a great location for a fair price. Free parking and made to order full breakfast (not continental) is a huge plus.
- 5/5
A fun local hotel with some character. A unique, quirky vibe with a great pool setup as the center of attention.
- 3/5
The room and everything was clean except the pool. It looked greenish so we didn’t go in, even though there was lots of people in there.
- 4/5
The room was clean. Sheets, floor, restroom. A 100 deposit was required. Refundable if room is in order. We only stayed one night. The shower drain was not draining. I reported it to front desk. And my 100 deposit was not returned. So my 1 night stay was charged an extra. The drain issue was not caused by us. It was an issue before check in. Was, I not suppose to report it so I could get my 100 back? I was just being honest and reported it. This seems like another type of scam.

It is a reclaimed 70's looking hotel. Hipster vibes in the renovation. The room was great but the toilet and shower had some function issues. The desk staff were not nice but not rude. The breakfast staff were amazing though, and the breakfast: Wow, it was so good and very filling.

I would have liked to have been aware that the rooms have a low profile bed. As a person with a disability, it was difficult for me getting in and out of the bed. The shower dial was difficult to turn on.
- 5/5
Aside from being a clean and comfortable room and bed , the real bright spot for me, was the food service. Jayden, who served breakfast was amazing, so pleasant, fast, and efficient! Such a varied menu for a free breakfast was a huge pleasure. Sacha and Stephanie, who took turns serving supper and drinks were also super helpful and accommodating, no complaints here either. A properly sized and adjustable office chair and a comfortable reading chair were badly missed. The one chair present appeared to have had its back bent so was dreadfully uncomfortable and way too low for the only desk/workspace supplied. Maggie at the front desk was super helpful with whatever item I requested. Overall this property is a super value for the price and I enjoyed my stay immensely!

We didn't see a way to get to the rooftop lounge at all. I don't think it exists anymore. I was unable to schedule any time in the spa so I can't speak to that at all. The rooms were clean and comfy. Coffee maker and mini fridge, but no microwave. The restaurant cafe was tasty. We didn't get a chance to visit the bar. The pool and hot tub are nice. Great ambience and convenient location for our needs.

The room was very spacious and the bed was super comfy and already had extra pillows so I didn't have to ask. The breakfast was amazing and the dinner we had at the on-site restaurant exceeded my expectations! I liked the lamps by the bed so I didn't have to walk through the room in the dark when I was getting ready for bed. The AC was super good! It came with a steamer, which I actually ended up using so it came in clutch, There was not much bright lighting in the room, luckily, I brought a light up make up mirror, but if I hadn't. there wasn't area with good enough lighting. The sink didn't get very hot when I was trying to wash my face, but the heat in the tub was great!

The pool was nice and smelt amazing because of the flowers. room was great size but in serious need of a redo. Bathroom was old and the bathtub was peeling and broken and the shampoo/conditioner and wash that were mounted on the wall were all empty. there were two mini bottles of toiletries left, but one was half full, so I'm not sure if they were the prior guests and just left, There were no plugs for the bath or sink and there was a couple of hairs on the bathroom celling. The "spa" was a couple of rooms down a cement unappealing hallway. Location was a mile from a large group of homeless. I noticed they had security in the evening and i was approached by a homeless person asking for a cigarette outside the hotel (who told me to be safe). Over priced.

Bed was comfy. Overall vibe was nice, but shabby. It needs some TLC. The restaurant has been updated recently and is nice, and the food is good. Pillows were foam and 'meh'. small things about the room were annoying: bad paint job, no room around the sink to put toiletries, no hand lotion, sprinkler head was rusted and hanging loosely out the ceiling, soap dispener was on the wall of the shower but should have been at the end (to give more shoulder room/width) and they just had a straight shower curtain bar (the ones that are bowed out are much nicer for space). also, no ironing board and no available plug on the desk (?!?!).

The hotel was very nice, room was clean, spacious. The placement of the table/desk was right under the TV, too close. The bed was also a bit too low, kind of makes it hard to get up. The breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed my overnight stay.

This place has no right to call itself a Spa and charging a $100 spa-fee when they don't even provide shampoo or soap unless you ask for it. It's reaching to even call itself a Hotel.
- 4/5
We couldn’t access the rooftop deck tho, so that was disappointing. The restaurant was also decent and complementary breakfast is a nice touch. The rooms were ok but a little chintzy
- 0.5/5
Nothing I checked out after one night. My room had no hot water, the shower did not work and the TV did not work.
- 5/5
The breakfast and the cleanliness would bring me back here. It’s made to order breakfast instead of a buffet and it is absolutely delicious with excellent service! It’s been a while since a hotel was willing to clean my room each night, so it was a treat to return each day to fresh sheets, towels and a spotless room!
- 3/5
Everything was ok but a bit pricey for the area.

I think this boutique hotel has so many opportunities to be great! Updates in bathrooms and rooms. Not just paint. Rooftop for bar would be fabulous. Just a good overhaul. Otherwise it did the job for our two night stay.

Cute property, but the double bed room was very small. Also the window had no curtains, just vertical blinds so the room was Very bright by 5:30am. The included breakfast was great.

Was able to enjoy the pool and Pied Pipers wonderful menu between visiting the hospital. For me, having that hotel as a recoup kept me from being in shambles the whole time. Room was quiet and the hotel has lots of precautions that keep the guests safe and feeling welcomed.

Staff are attentive and friendly. As they are transitioning they currently offer free breakfast and a meaningful discount on drinks and food in the bar/restaurant If you appreciate a bit of funky character and great staff it is a great value for the location
- 5/5
The hotel and rooms were spotless, plenty of free self parking, breakfast was made to order and was delicious (not continental, you must show room key), the staff was so friendly and helpful. Hot tub was long, enough to fit lots of people and was nice and hot. The pool was also large and had plently of seating in chairs or cabanas. We had a basic room and it had a mini fridge, no microwave, had a hairdryer and steamer. The vibe of the hotel was chill and the colors were very vibrant and lively. We enjoyed our stay so much and would come back here again. Shout out to the breakfast waitress who was extremely friendly and made us feel so welcomed. Make sure to leave her a nice tip.

Breakfast menu was great and so was the staff. We knew the hotel was older but it was disappointing the condition it was in. A lot of corners were cut when they remodeled. The neighborhood was run down.
- 4/5
Retro style of hotel with colors, murals and water features appealed to us but you can still tell it’s an old property. Outdoor patio eating area was unclean and the bed was just a mattress on a wooden board that curved in the center. Breakfast included was a nice touch but understaffed. Also location not as expected, could not walk to restaurants without encountering homeless people.

Great pool and hot tub. I stayed in the King Suite on the 3rd floor. Supposedly one of the best rooms they had. The pictures look great online but in person it was a totally different story. While it was a large room and had two separate areas, there was no kitchenette. The couch in the "living room" was a love seat futon. The layout and furniture made no sense. The bathroom is ridiculously small compared to the room itself. The bathroom sink faucet sprayed out water so hard it gets you wet if you're standing in front of it. No middle power. Full power or off. Lastly, the layout of the entire suite just felt thrown together. The TV's are to small and tucked away in corners of the rooms way to far from the seating area / bed. No rugs at all. No real desk area. There was a desk chair, but no desk for it to go under. Cheap furniture. Poor bathroom. The bed was comfortable though. Oh, and no natural light as both windows are really small. One window is blocked by a bush while the other was facing the hallway for the hotel. No need to pay extra for a suite unless you really want the secondary room with the really small futon / love seat.
- 3/5
Pool was great. Liked the resteraunt.
- 4/5
Night manager Aubrey was unbelievably kind and professional, going out of her way to make our stay memorable. She remembered us from months ago by name!
- 5/5
The location was different than I expected. It wasn't quite as convenient to restaurants. For some reason I thought we could walk out the door and have options. It was walkable, but the nearest one was about 15 minutes. But the one on-site was great!
- 4/5
The people on staff were nice, down-to-earth, and generally wanted to help. Not much training on how to help or what hospitality service looks like. Overall - I knew this was the product when I booked it, so it was fine. A solo, sunshine, go see some friends trip. I’d stay here again for similar trip but would not bring any friends here. Also, lot of homeless and drug addict activity just past the parking lot on the same block. Again, I felt safe, but it’s a bit gross.
- 5/5
The staff was super nice and even remembered me the next morning. Sad it was no longer MJ friendly.

Our original room was not clean. It was very small and there was no natural light because the shades were broken. We were moved to a different and nicer room that was larger, cleaner, with better light. Daily breakfast was great. Even the larger room needed work - it had broken shades, a sink without a working stopper, and a broken chain on the door. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day, after being gone all day, we returned to a room that had not been touched. Staff argued when we asked that housekeeping clean the room, blaming us for putting the 'do not disturb' sign on the door during an early morning breakfast. (We left by 9:30 and removed the sign at that time.)

Nothing. Checking in I didn't feel welcomed. I felt like we were put in the worst room there was available for some odd reason. I was completely friendly regardless of how it felt the whole time we were there. Our room was dirty. The bathtub was disgusting. There was a cockroach crawling on the bathroom sink next to my toothbrush when I woke up in the morning. The tile underneath the sink has gaps that bugs are getting through where the drain line is. The vertical blinds were installed standing off of the wall about 2 ½ inches leaving daylight and enough room to see the building next to us. The sun was so bright in the morning that I was unable to catch up on much needed rest & sleep. The entry area of the room looked unfinished with a huge empty area and a tiny mini fridge. No freezer in it either. The tiny clothes rack next to the bathroom looked like something that was purchased from a yard sale. The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable. This was the worst room that I have stayed in for over twenty years. This room ultimately cost me $247.62 for one night with a king size bed and I couldn't be anymore disappointed.
- 4.5/5
Great Breakfast Should have changed room as I did not have a view. But many other rooms did.
- 4/5
Great location. Restaurant on site. Free breakfast. Great pool area. Beds are extremely low for tall people. Very difficult to get in and out of. Toilet seats are also too low for adults. Our feet got very dirty when walking bear foot in our room. Floor needed to be mopped.
- 3/5
Just average at best
- 2/5
This property is not as advertised. It may have been cute and fun years ago, but it is very worn down and has not been taken care of which is very apparent from the moment you arrive there’s nothing about it that qualifies as a resort so I was very upset to have paid a resort fee. I wouldn’t trust any of their spa services. The location of the property itself is very unsafe. There is homeless people and trash surrounding the entire building. I paid for an upgrade to a king suite which was more disappointment we went and sat in this cute bar restaurant they advertised and ended up leaving because nobody helped us. The most enjoyable part was when we left. I would never stay here again, and I don’t recommend anyone else does either.
- 5/5
Building id dated but service is amazing

I liked the pool and hot tub, and I liked the cleaning staff, but not the cleaning staff supervision. My bike got vandalized out front and they hardly expressed condolences. I paid for late check out and they woke me up early anyway. They promised me a complimentary upgrade and didn't give me anything.

This hotel is honestly a 10-star experience for us! The room is huge and comes with a kitchenette (no cooktop/stove), but it includes complete kitchenware, a microwave, full-size refrigerator, and coffee/tea amenities—perfect for longer stays or families. The staff are amazing, especially Kelly and her colleague at reception. They went above and beyond to help me multiple times when I was having issues with my rental car fob. Their effort and kindness really stood out. The buffet breakfast is excellent—great variety and very family-friendly. I also love the amenities: • Recreation areas for kids • Gym • Indoor pool (not heated, so a bit cold—but understandable due to the higher elevation and cooler climate at times) The location is very convenient: • Close to restaurants and shopping • About 45 minutes to Sedona • Near Bearizona and about 2 hours to the Grand Canyon Parking is safe and easy, though it’s $7 per day. Overall, this hotel is fantastic—spacious, well-equipped, and family-friendly with outstanding staff. Highly recommend!

Shower drain was almost completely non-functional, couldn't get hot water prior to a flight in the a.m., the bed was in rough shape, and overall the room was beat up and dirty. Honestly this was among the worst hotels I've stayed at in a long time, and it was far from cheap. There's a decent facade on the exterior (and in the listing photos), but it's a guide for abject decrepitude.

The management staff was made aware of major trouble I had with my room. I was told two times that one of the managers would call me to discuss... never happened. My first night there the roof leaked through my ceiling and into my bed with me... major leak and I was hit directly in the face with dirty water. I needed to change rooms at 2:30 in the morning. To add insult to injury, my last night there, my air conditioner failed. Again, no follow up from the hotel leadership team. I'm forced to assume my poor experience there wasn't very important to them.

Horrible stat overall. The manager did take care of the night we stayed because of how many things were not up to par which I appreciated but it is not somewhere I’d recommend staying.

The room was quite dated with an old, gross shower. The room was big but it would have been nice to have a dresser or a bigger table. It just felt like a lot of wasted space. The key card didn't work several times. The maintenance guy fixed it then it stopped working again 2 days later. We got a text at 6:20 am that there was no cook for breakfast that day. The pool was very nice with lots of seating. Parking was convenient.

It seems like they are in the middle of a remodel, but the property is older and didn’t really look like the pictures.

Very clean, bathroom really needs to be remodeled and lighting in the living room was extremely minimal. Bed was very comfortable with a nice assortment of pillows.

Very run down. Cracked mirrors, not even hand soap in the bathroom, cracked mirrors and torn wallpaper, mold in the room, dirty in general. Staff was nice. But honestly how this is a “spa” and what that suggests is a joke.

It was okay. Dated. Comforter was old and lumpy but the linens were clean. Room was deodorized with something "powder fresh" if you like that. The electrical outlet in the bathroom didn't work. There were add on charges, so not as inexpensive as it seems at first glance.

We had a great stay! We really enjoyed the pool area and the breakfast. The room was slightly older/beat up but the beds were very comfy and we felt safe. Best part of the experience was the staff. They were all very attentive, kind, and professional. Would recommend you to anyone visiting Phoenix!
- 5/5
Clean room, big bed, got a free bday upgrade for our room. Close to plenty.
- 4/5
A few things require attention but overall great stay.

Cleanness of the rooms and better service in the food dining areas

Decor was 1960 deco art Boutique Hotel
- 5/5
Check in was easy, front desk let me know about restaurants in the area. Room was as appeared in photos and very clean. Comfortable bed and Cool vibe. Good made to order breakfast with good service. Bar was open and bartender was nice. All in all was a good stay, and the hot tub was huge and warm!
- 3/5
I used most of the towels to soak up the water and chose not to report the issue at the time, as I did not want to switch rooms for a third time. I did, however, bring the problem to the front desk upon checkout the following morning. My overall impression is that while the hotel may appear hip and stylish on the surface, there seems to be a significant issue with deferred maintenance. On a positive note, parking was free.

- 3/5
parking kinda weird, no smoking allowed even though they offer the option, staff is really nice though
- 5/5
The rooms are sound proof so you can be loud all night long and no one will bother you
- 3/5
Basic room but don’t expect 4 stars. Comfortable but poor water pressure, light in bathroom flickered. Free breakfast not great, elevator needs work. No security as anyone can get to any room. Pool was nice.

- 5/5
The entire staff was wonderful. Had a great stay and breakfast was wonderful. The pool was heated so kids really enjoyed it. Would stay back again next time.
- 4/5
It was a pleasant stay. it gives more of a renovated motel feel which wasn't bad, but not really my thing. clean, staff was nice my favorite part was the resturant and the fact that the food is free.
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
As a frequent female business traveler, it was nice to stay in a hotel that I feel safe and comfortable, yet feels contemporary. Exercise room was nice. The staff was great! Thank you, I will be back - glad to have found this hotel, hopefully I will have time for a massage during my next visit.
- 1/5
Bit by a couple weird bugs in the room on my foot But the worst was probably the wet dirty icky feeling the hotel gave off a motel vibe an with a non stop buzzing sound in the room 217
- 2/5
The room was outdated, AC unit was old, the blinds were not secure and fell when we tried to open them. The restaurant only served pizza. The pool area looks nothing like the pictures, and the staff was very friendly or helpful.
- 1/5
AC was Constantly on. We were freezing and ending up getting sick!
- 2/5
Very ran down hotel that was cheaply remodeled, room was terrible, 1 mirror only in the bathroom with poor lighting, felt like what I would envision a bougie jail cell might look like. The staff was nice & helpful when i cancelled the rest of my stay, refund was processed quickly, which I appreciated.
- 4/5
Usually the Clarendon is amazing. This time was a little different. Room 325 needs the bathtub scrubbed out or replaced. The bottom of the tub has black residue embedded in the tub. Also the blinds do not shut. At all. Which was a little annoying for privacy reasons, but more so when trying to sleep in while the sun shines right through.
- 2/5
My wife and I stayed here for a couple days and the best way to describe what we got for a room was “it’s just a room” it has a bed, three lamps, a steamer that was filthy, and a bathroom. Our toilet was broken and wasn’t even attached to the ground all the way so when we sat down on it it tilted to the side and slammed back down when we got up and it was plastered together. The three lamps in the room are the only forms of light you get, there’s no actual light to turn on so it was dark the entire time we were there. It did its job for the small trip we made but I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean room, spacious, staff was very friendly
- 3/5
The facility was under new management so it was going through phases of improving the facility. We had a complaint of a room which they were able to switch us to another room.
- 2/5
Not very clean. Run down. Homeless people in parking lot. Bar, restaurant, spa shut down but they are advertising as open on website. They tell you of closures at check in. They also charge $40 in EXTRA fees at checkin that they said aren't included when you reserve from a 3rd party. NOT a $200/night property at all!
- 5/5
Great staff, clean rooms and close to downtown.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and amazing room, honestly the best I’ve had in awhile highly recommend!!
- 5/5
Super nice
- 3/5
The staff was actually very nice and were an asset to the property Again the rooms were good size and did not need much refreshing, but the common areas are very tired and overdue for refurbishment.
- 2/5
The room wasnt what i expected . Ill just lwave it there
- 3/5
It wasn't anything special. The rate speaks for itself. Room was anything special. Lack of charm or necessities. Bathroom had missing towels and hair dryer. Very boring and blah!
- 3/5
Room was comfortable in a minimalistic style. Only a bed and desk in the room. Pool and hot tub excellent. Food offerings basically average at best. Staff very friendly. Property very clean and fresh

I like this hotel. Clean. Great location. Staff were friendly. It has a good gym, small but alot in it. Cool design with the pool in the middle. Will stay again!
- 3/5
Second time we stayed and the restaurant/ bar was closed . Wished we’d known before booking
- 5/5
The room was excellent and clean. Tidied up every day I was there. The only thing is the foyer to the elevators was always dark. Plus, Expedia did not update the news that the bar would be closed for the time I was there. But that is not on the hotel. Overall, it was a good stay.
- 3/5

The hotel sent me a message the day of arrival of pool closing. We arrived, they told us the restaurant will be closed also. The roof top bar will be closed. The key card to lock your room did not work. The door could be easily pushed in. Did not feel safe whatsoever. Even saw cleaning people just pushing the doors in without using the card. Had to either buy groceries or go walk to only one of two restaurants to eat. Very inconvenient. I would highly recommend never ever coming to this place ever.
- 2/5
Nothing was open (restaurant, carpool) , the pool got drained while we were there. Very little light in the room with the couch. Everything is so old. Staff when checked in was nice but unfriendly other than that. A/C didn't Cool the room well. Not a good experience
- 1/5
Had to leave. smelled like mold.and rude staff
- 1/5
Staff was pleasant and accommodating however the property, the room, and the amenities were all subpar for such a highly rated hotel. I understand how the availability of amenities allows for this to be considered a 3 1/2 star hotel however the spa, restaurant, and roof top bar were all closed for renovations. That would make this a 2 star hotel at best! The 7.4 rating on Expedia must be from very old reviews. I selected this hotel as a previous guest over 10 years ago and back then it was a chic, modern contemporary, boutique hotel that appeared to be recently renovated. Now, it has signs of neglect all over the property, inside the rooms, and even with the very few amenities that were still available. It is as if no one cares what the property, or what the rooms look like. We booked for two nights but could only stand one night and graciously asked for a refund which was provided without question. It is as if the staff understood and most likely experience requests like ours for refund on a daily or weekly basis. The Clarendon, more like the Claren-don't-stay here.
- 3/5
Unfortunately the spa & restaurant was under renovations when I stayed at the hotel. Staff was great but was disappointed I was not informed of the closures when I booked.
- 3/5
The bar and restaurant was closed and then the pool was closed the following day. The bed was pretty comfortable but the pillows were super hard and lumpy.
- 2/5
The hotel was not up to the standards of the pictures. The bed smelled like bleach and was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom smelled like mildew. The room was 60 degrees and never warmed up past 62 despite turning the heat to 70.
- 5/5
Nice environment
- 3/5
But its was very disappointing that the property was under construction.
- 4/5
I appreciated the security guard walking around in the parking area - increased safety. Pool area was too cute w/ cabanas, lounge chairs, etc... & they have a 50 person hot tub! Decor is fun and simple... love the suite w/ a bedroom separate from sitting area. :)
- 3/5
2 rooms, front very echoey and sofa very uncomfortable. Beds ok, 1 soft, 1 firm.
- 5/5
Nice and clean room, also pretty spacious for 2 guest. Awesome pool with good music and nice lights. Really lay back and chill place that I would definitely stay at again!
- 2/5
No secured parking
- 5/5
Clean room, got a great rest. Fun hotel with cool crowd
- 2/5
There was no mention of this on their website when i boked just a week ahead. No restaurant, no bar no pool bar. The signs said "Closed for the Summer". So they had plenty of time to update the website. And by the way Summer was over a month ago. And why do you close a pool in the summer in Phoenix? Beds being moved i and out of the facility both days clogging the halls. Workers talking oud in the hallways. Construction going on incessantly. There was a lamp in my room that would strobe randomly throughout the night even when turned off. Continental breakfast was minimal. Bed must have been switched out because it was comfortable. All drains drained so that was good. Appeared clean and kept up. The best thing about the stay was that you were provided with free bottled water.
- 5/5
Loved having the pool area all to myself
- 5/5
I stay every time I’m in Phoenix. Staff is amazing. Love the vibe. Rooms clean and spacious. Great pool. The only bummer this time was that restaurant was closed - a restaurant is a must for me.
- 3/5
Staff was courteous, room needed some maintenance. TP holder falling off, door lock plate fell off, duvet was dirty, hair in the shower. Bar, restaurant and roof top under maintenance. For the price It was worth it, quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable and A.C top notch. We were there for husband's cancer surgery the following day, close proximity to hospital. Make sure you lock your vehicle. Seen someone trying to get into cars in the lot at 5 a.m.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 4/5
Clean room, convenient, central location.

- 4/5
The stay was overall nice for a weekend! I do feel like the rooms were a bit run down and not as pictured. The room was very humid which I feel may cause problems for the building in the future. A few maintenance things but overall not to bad. The staff is awesome! I would just maybe call and make sure what ever services they are offering are in fact available for your trip.
- 5/5
The checkin process was easy, parking was free and located near the hotel entry. The room was spacious and clean.
- 3/5
The room I felt was really weird. The tiniest window ever. The bed was literally 2 inches off the ground. I felt like we were in Japan. The bathtub was disgusting. Look like they had cleaned it and it was clean, but it just looked really gross like it needed to be replaced. Did not feel too safe at this place.
- 5/5
I loved my stay at The Clarendon Hotel. The staff was super nice. It was really safe and very clean! See you again soon!
- 1/5
check in time was for 3:30p, they did not have available rooms until 4:45p. I had a wedding to attend at 5:00p. There is no mirror for viewing your outfit, while getting dressed, just a face mirror in the very dim lit bathroom, which made it hard to put on make-up. No microwave for heating up food purchased at restaurants near by. And little to low water pressure for brushing your teeth. It was not a great time for a 4 night stay. Lots of inconvenience. It was clean and the decor was nice, but the room itself needs upgrading.
- 3/5
The stay there was ok
- 2/5
The place is run down and needs lots of renovations, little to no ammenites and the room was such a disappointment, the bed was old and the place was unclean. Management needs to improve this place because it's in a great location.
- 1/5
Arrived at 2.50 did not get a room until 4.15. There were 4 groups waiting for a room.
- 1/5
The property smelled from the moment you entered the lobby. The smell carried throughout and into the rooms. The smell made you sick it was so pungent.
- 3/5
I was just disappointed for the price of the room. Everything was very minimal and appeared poorly decorated. I’ve been to the Clarendon before and enjoyed my stay. It seems to have declined heavily in the last few years.
- 2/5
Start of the day with greeting of staff which was immediately with a welcoming smile. After checking I had few issues with my key card but no biggie I was helped out with that problem immediately. I do recommend double check of not only room condition (which mine was great), but as well to assure all appliances, outlets, ac, ect… are functional before renting it out to the next guest.
- 2/5
it’s no good !! so expensive !!
- 3/5
Everything was nice although the bathroom looked a bit unsanitary and the couch had hair in it…
- 1/5
No hot water, no restaurant or bar, funny smell and peeling wall paper. Looks like it was a great place, but dying from neglect. The manager was nice about refunding and we found somewhere else for 1/2 the price without issues.
- 1/5
When we drove up to the property we decided to stay somewhere else, we decided to take the loss, felt very unsafe at this property, too many homeless in parking lot!
- 1/5
House keeping came once, elevator out of service, restaurants/ breakfast closed, wifi was very slow, The lamps was flicking all day which was the only light that was in the room.
- 3/5
There had been a very strong monsoon storms that moved through the area before I arrived at the hotel. When I was checking in I was informed that the elevator did not work due to water damage and would not be fixed during my stay. The nice man at the front desk told me someone would be available to manage luggage up to my room on the second floor. I was given a room but found a big puddle of water under the split unit(air conditioning) and when the unit turned on water was spaying out of it. I informed the front desk and they said they would arrange for new room with a free upgrade. When I returned later that evening with my friend we found out we were on third floor and were assisted with our luggage. The room were clean and appeared newly updated. The hotel is not elder friendly as the beds were only 1 1/2 feet off the floor as well as sitting area couches. When we checked out we were rudely informed there was no one to help us with the luggage and desk person said I can’t do it. I asked for manager but none were present. Overall not a very good expense and I would not chose to book here again.
- 3/5
First off the elevator did not work, the floor lamp did not have a way to turn off so I had to unscrew the light bulb , the blinds did not turn to open , continental breakfast was just cereal and milk coffee and muffins. The bed was very comfortable and parking is away from where you can’t see your vehicle. I would not stay there again.
- 5/5
The only problem I had was the tv in the bedroom didn’t work. We were only there for one night, so it wasn’t a big deal for us. The service was great and the room was clean and nice
- 1/5
The weather was terrible and there were leaks all over the hotel. The king bed in my deluxe room was busted, The "renovated" rooms were extremely outdate and there was damage on all the furniture. The shower hot water was luke warm and the ventilation system did not function properly. The room was also NOT soundproof as stated in the description. There were no available amenties - no restaurant, no lunge, no swimming...
- 3/5
Elevator was not functional.
- 2/5
Different creepy abd dirty vibe
- 2/5
His older than expected not much of a brand and breakfast. Just some coffee muffins and fruit with milk and cereal.
- 1/5
By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Old and dirty. I would never stay here again.
- 3/5
Rooms are in poor maintenance conditions. Restaurant was closed for summer making it not convenient.
- 2/5
Loud, small room fridge was dirty and had someone else’s old open soda cans in it and had spilled.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
I liked the adult only and the overall design of the hotel was great and super comfy bed. Friendly staff
- 1/5
Upon check-in, I was informed that the restaurant and bar were closed for the summer, which really took away from the overall experience. My room was very basic, with several issues — the nightstand lights flickered, and the bathroom vanity light didn’t work at all. To make matters worse, housekeeping knocked on my door at 10 a.m., pressuring me to leave even though checkout wasn’t until 11 a.m.
- 4/5
Great enjoy stay a mirror near the desk would be great other then that I would come back
- 3/5
Staff was lovely. The area was a bit sketchy. The room was clean but had issue like lights not working and no blackout curtains so streetlights and other lights lit the room timely all night. There was clearly an attempt to modernize the room but fell a little short. For a simple place to sleep, it fit the bill.
- 4/5
Fantastic retro feel, Steph was wonderful. The only issue is there were no food services - restaurant and rooftop bar were closed for the summer. It would have been good to know that prior to booking - pook space at night was especially enjoyable
- 5/5
Stay was good
- 5/5
Excellent service.
- 4/5
- 1/5
Their restaurant and bar are also closed in the summertime but rather than tell you that on the website, they wait till you check in to drop the bad news The beds are extremely low and the room is archaic. I never typically complain, but I hate being lied to. I would’ve never booked here had I known the reality of the property. Beware ! you will get catfished like a bad tender date..
- 1/5
Strong smell of cleaning agent, when lights are off and AC switches on, the lights flash on even in off position all night long. Seems like someone is coming in your room and turning on the lights. There was hair all over in the bathroom and bed. Office chair has broken spring inside that sticks you in the leg when you sit in it. Had two more nights to stay, went to cancel at 9am but was only able to get one night refunded cause it was too late in the day to cancel for that night. Picture on line must be from 10 yrs ago looks nothing like that now. They said there was a continental breakfast, 2x4 table with 5 mini muffins in a plastic tray and a single cup mini coffee machine is what you get. The restaurant and bar they say is there, it’s closed and empty. Looking at the reviews it looks to have been closed around a year ago but it’s still in the web page as open. Unless you like paying for disappointment I wouldn’t stay here
- 5/5
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Noisy at night had to leave after 1 night
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, price was great, room was huge, clean, very nice. Bed great, awesome Nestle coffee machine which I have only seen on cruise ships or in Europe. Pool was fun to spend time. The property is run down on the outside. I don’t think many people were staying there because the parking lot was empty except for a few cars. Mayb
- 2/5
The staff was amazing. However the property looks nothing like the photos. The rooms are run down and we were on level1 and had roaches in our room! We booked for two nights but did not stay.
- 3/5
Ok stay for a night or two.
- 1/5
They put us in an unmanaged room that was Smokey. There weren’t ANY lights, two thirds of our SOFA was MISSING. They gave us a different room, my friend couldn’t breathe. We booked the room for a concert, thinking we could lounge by the pool and drink and eat at the bar/restaurant. To our surprise the pool was too cloudy to use. The restaurant was CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER. The rooftop was thrashed and there was broken furniture everywhere. The free breakfast they advertised was only a few rock hard muffins they had put out. Our door handle wasn’t on right. There was no shower jell in the bottle. It was devastatingly embarrassing that I booked our night there. I can not believe they said our room was ready and it looked like it had been robbed! Paint peeling off the walls it was shocking :( I need a refund.
- 5/5
room is spacious, bed is low but very cozy tv has Netflix would come again!!
- 5/5
We were welcomed by a very friendly host.
- 3/5
Only stayed for one night. Nothing in the area, the hotel is pretty dated and needs updates. Room was dirty
- 1/5
I checked in and immediately checked out.
- 3/5
Hotel is nice, staff is nice. The poolside bar and food is closed during the summer. That was mostly what i was looking forward to.
- 4/5
While it wasn't the cleanest place it definitely met my expectations with the small details such as the flower folded towels and folded t.p. Breakfast was a big bummer. If you say breakfast comes with you're stay then do a better breakfast please people. Wasnt the best but wasn't the worse.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Aww man the staff was awesome everyone was welcoming and when they noticed I had a service dog they upgraded me.
- 3/5
Restaurant and bar “closed for summer” without notifying at time of booking. Super inconvenient. This place just keeps getting worse.
- 3/5
I liked the pool and hot tub. Super long hot tub complete with rafts and pool stuff with enough room for everyone to have privacy. The cabanas at the pool are free complete with
- 3/5
Great pool, all other facilities were so so and the area isn’t great
- 3/5
Their website needs to be updated to state NO food or bar service! It was very inconvenient!
- 1/5
It was nothing like the photos, spa and resort are in the name but it is neither of those things. Staff is incredibly friendly
- 5/5
Love the place
- 3/5
The staff was excellent. The room was clean but pretty basic. It would be nice to have a mirror in the room other than the one over the sink. The location was convenient for us but there is no place that is walking distance, at least in the summertime.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
A great stay for our two nights. Friendly staff and nice rooms
- 3/5
The over all stay was fine, the staff was fine like if you just need a room you’ll be good, I’m personally I guess just a bit bougie and if you are used to a fancy hotel this is definitely not the place to stay, I just think the rooms and hotel does NOT look like the pictures, I feel like those pictures were taken years ago and the hotel just hasn’t been updated.
- 4/5
Love a good converted motel and Clarendon fits the bill. The property is a bit dated but they’ve done a decent job modernizing. The room was large with a living room and bedroom. It was clean with modern ammenities although the overall facility still felt a bit old with views of a parking lot and busy street. You are close to many restaurants, bars and parks. Small but nice pool plus a bar/restaurant on property Overall was good option
- 3/5
Love the hotel vibes just need a little more maintenance done around the property and rooms
- 3/5
A little disappointed . Last time i stayed i had a hot breakfast and robes in room. Not the cas e thos time staff was friendly
- 3/5
The staff, were all super nice and friendly. No on-site restaurant, but still advertised it. The first room we had, the AC was broken, they moved us and gave us the option to keep both rooms. The pool was great and the cleaning staff did an excellent job
- 1/5
The Clarendon is advertised as an adult only hotel but that's inaccurate. There were children staying there throughout our stay and they also left pool toys in the pool that stayed there throughout our stay. The pool was not as pictured and was heated when it's over 100 degrees outside so the water was warm rather than refreshing. Upon check in we were informed that the restaurant and bar were closed for the summer so no options on site for food or drinks.
- 1/5
Would not recommend way ran down with cheap cover ups. The bar and restaurant were closed. Bedding was dirty we didn't even stay.
- 3/5
- 5/5
Nothing but great things to say about this oasis near the heart of a busy city. Great rooms, people, pool and bar. If your staying anywhere else, you are missing out on the magic.

We will NEVER return with, as the "ladies" at the front desk said, "people like this" working at Clarendon. Despicable and utter harassment. Most important, discrimination. How do you suppose I paid for my room prior to entering the hotel if I'm "unhoused"? So you don't want money, if it's from "certain kinds of people"?... I have a career, a house and much more. The assumption that I am anything else is insulting (stop making assumptions about total strangers), I am alternative and will not dress like a cute little woman just to get better service. Disgusting and devastated at this lack of humanity from a place in our hood that MEANT so much to us, especially me as a disabled person that needs to swim frequently to maintain mobility.

Is the good place for vacation

I would rate this hotel as a three-star, not a four-star. I love the fact that the walls were cement and therefore kept out sound. We didn't have to worry about being woken up by people shuffling up and down the hallways. But, the bathroom lighting was way too dim, the sink sprayed slightly outward, getting my pants wet. We ended up putting a rag in the sink and that actually helped. I expected more for breakfast being that this was a four-star hotel. Nothing but instant hot cereal, cheap muffins, and a few apples and oranges along with an instant coffee machine. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable overall. The pool area was really nice. Would have been nice to have an ice maker on each floor. The ice is downstairs in the pool area, so if you are staying on one of the upper floors, It is pretty inconvenient. The staff were really nice and helpful and the restaurant was really delicious. Definitely recommend that. Our card entry to our room quit working 30 minutes before we had to check out. The spa only books for individuals, so if you wanted to have a couple's spa that will not work. Just important to keep in mind the good with the bad here.

The staff was great like always

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our issues started with the room. There was no remote for the tv, the shower curtain had multiple stains on it from who knows what, outlet cover in bathroom was broken, the lamp shade cracked and ripping. The room did not feel clean fully. Our shower ran out of hot water and the bathroom sink faucet pressure was low and didn’t spray correctly. The pool area is nice but there are cracks and missing concrete on the sides of pool. I was recently advised this hotel went under renovation but the nicest part of it is the hotel. Overall a very disappointing experience and I’m not sure how they get away charging $100 for incidentals when they can’t provide fully working, not broken or missing objects in the room.

The rooms were disgusting, bed was filthy, furniture old, the shower curtain was dirty and sour smelling, HAD COCKROACHES. Behind the bed and in corners dirty with crumbs and dirt. Rooms smelled like smoke and weed. Had to wash all contents of my suitcase even got home. A terrible stay.

We could’ve stayed longer, but I had to check out early. Great room enjoyed the pool.

The physical condition is worn, cheaply done. I have stayed in very old hotels that were very well preserved, delightfully decorated and maintained. This was done on the CHEAP. I asked for an ADA room, it was bare bones. I needed help with my luggage, the clerk was no bellman, nor rack to carry my luggage. The clerks were kind enough to help. The breakfast was a coffee machine and muffins with packets of instant oatmeal and no milk. I asked for regular coffee in my room, they suggested I use the coffee machine in the lobby. The wine in the bar was so cheap I couldn’t drink it . Very sad as it was once a lovely place.

Good hotel. Not fancy, but comfortable. Great location.
- 2/5
My room was not very clean and there were gross stains everywhere. My shower was almost completely non-functional and was the worst shower I’ve ever had. My entire stay felt dirty and grimey and I would not pay for it again.

The hotel is cute, staff is nice and accommodating but the rooms are a bit beat up and patio furniture was turn up as well as a the non working fire pits.

Fun place downtown

First upsetting this a $40 hidden fees for extra amenities. When i asked about this the manager said it was for all the perks. These perks were listed as free in the hotels.com add. The site also has pics of a big breakfast but it was really just apple, oranges, cheep muffins, oatmeal packets. The pictures of the building itself looked very colorfull and modern, but was quite dull. I would have to say they did have a very nice pool and hot tub. This was the one big positive. i feel like both the hotel and hotels.com need to do a better job of showing the $ 40 bs hidden fee and pictures that are not so deceptive

The beds seemed comfy at first, but this is an illusion. I woke up with multiple limbs asleep due to lumps in the mattress that cut off circulation. The rest of the furniture was uncomfortable as well. The continental breakfast was still-frozen pastries in the lobby. And they appear to have covered up the memorial to the reporter killed by the car bomb in the 70s by some average modern art. I was looking forward to seeing that, and was left disappointed The pool looked nice.

Management of this place should live in for a day or two. It’s obvious they either haven’t, or are willingly oblivious.

Awesome as always- a true escape into paradise from within the urban hustle.

We have stayed several times at The Clarendon we have actually stayed in the same suite. This time they added a queen to the sitting area and it made the suite seem awkward. The door needs to be more secured as well. We figured it would have been repaired by now. Nevertheless its a chill place

Not a good experience

This is a older kind of retro hotel beds are low to the ground . I would stay again but just remember it a little older hotel
- 5/5
The rooms and property are slightly dated but incredibly clean. Great pool and hot tub area. I didn’t get to visit the restaurant, gym or spa during my stay but it was nice to have these amenities on site. The area around the hotel was quiet and I felt very safe traveling solo as a young woman. There’s also a grocery store and shopping center that’s roughly a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I would absolutely stay here again.

Staff is unwelcoming and standoffish
- 5/5
Front desk was terrific! Hotel is very cool! They have made it modern and fun!
- 3/5
Reserved a walk in shower and received tub/shower combination. Tub was stained. Room was large but with a very small window. No furniture except the bed and desk chair. It’s definitely dated.
- 2/5
Run down. First room was over the bar. Very loud. Next room was a downgrade. Walls peeling. Shampoo empty. No lotion.

The room smelled like mold and cigs , there was moled in the AC in 208 we ended up having to stay in PHX an extra night so they gave us a new room for the next day. it wasn't any better.
- 2/5
Honestly this place in the pictures looked like a fun and hip place to stay at for us to visit the festival nearby Prices were decent compared to some of the ones in nearby area. And this probably was a cool place to be about 20yrs ago. Property needs updating desperately. TV in the suite bedroom didn’t work, couch missing buttons made it look like it had cigarettes burns, bathroom was the side of a college dorms bathroom.sink wasn’t even in the bathroom it was in the bedroom. Actual disaster

Love the free parking for a downtown hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful room and hotel. Comfortable beds. The he room was updated to a modern theme. Beautiful pool are, my granddaughter wished she brought her suit. We were here for Cheer Competition and it was a short drive to the convention center.

Can't say enough good things, Clean, Safe, Accommodating, Great Staff, Had Check Out Conflict and Resolved Issue Efficiently and Courteously by Management, Very Impressed

When I booked the property IT was advertised as adults only. When i checked in, there were a lot of children. i was told that their policy had changed. They should of notified people. Roof top bar is uneventful. A bunch of used dirty patio furniture thrown all over. When we checked in we got a drink at the bar because it was happy hour. When I mentioned that we were going to walk up to the roof top with the drinks, she stopped me and said I have to charge you full price if you go up there. I said I'm a hotel guest. she said it does not matter. As I mentioned we later went up there and its nothing more than old used furniture thrown all around. The hotel could be real cool if someone cared. POOR MANAGEMENT. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME STAYING THERE. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.

Staf was polite and friendly. Rooms are dated but functional. Noise level higher than average rooms are.
- 5/5
Noticed effort to improve property. Lacked suitable lighting in room and bathroom. No hair dryer, very limited view from room. Lobby not inviting, breakfast food and eating area very substandard.

No longer adult only. Change your website.

The Clarendon Hotel was a pleasant place to stay. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hotel has a GEM of a restaurant, The Azlin! We enjoyed a memorable dinner of flavorful food, then had a nice soak in the sizeable hot tub. The only problem we had was the toilet in our room had a wonky flusher. We resorted to removing the lid and flushing it by lifting the rubber flapper. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
- 3/5
Our AC didn’t work, the toilet ran all night, and the mini fridge was so loud that we had to unplug it. The bath tub looked so FILTHY that I didn’t even want to shower. Every day the lobby smelled liked something new - from eggs, to cologne, to mildew.
- 3/5
Overall, it was a nice stay. Hot tub was lovely. However, we did not have hot water our first day. They had been working on it the day we checked in, but there was not any hot water the next morning. I advised the front desk staff and he looked into and the hot water was repaired.

Hotel is in a good area if you have love ones in the hospital. Price was affordable. Down side is minor work needs to be done with the rooms which include holes in the wall with plumbing showing and some cracks in the bathroom. Stains on the furniture.
- 5/5
However, the food at the restaurant is excellent and there is a particular bartender that is a genius! Absolute mixologist! His name is Obsidian and I strongly recommend his espresso martinis!!! Great staff!
- 3/5
Area isn't great. Previously a cannabis friendly place, so the rooms have a lingering smoke odor. Furnishings are worn with tears and some with paint chipping off. Fixtures were pulling away from the bases, the water pressure was quite weak and the water got just warm enough to not be considered cold. One of the staff members was friendly and helpful, two seemed disinterested being of assistance and like we were putting them out. The place gives the impression of a motel revamped years ago to appeal to a hipster crowd, and may have had its hay day. But that time has passed. There are better, cleaner, more modern options nearby for similar prices. Don't be disappointed by this place like we were.

This place is awful. No hot water. No lighting. Room was on the alley where arguments and dog fighting in the middle of the night. Bathroom not clean.
- 2/5
The area was dirty and had homes people living close by

The hotel has a cute vibe - but the bathroom has the only mirror and the lights are so dim making it difficult to see. Our sink would not drain and we had lukewarm water for our shower. Not our best experience.
