Hampton Inn & Suites Phenix City- Columbus Area

I'm not sure how this hotel has the rating that it does but it should not. We were placed on the basement floor which smelt like mold and mildew as soon as you got off the elevator. The room was the same and very run down. The bathroom door was dry rotted at the bottom as well as the cabinet that holds the mini fridge which would indicate water damage and would explain the smell of mold. We ended up turning in our keys at 9pm the night we checked in and took the long drive home. No accommodations were offered to credit us back for not being able to stay due to how run down and dirty the place was. I would be concerned about your health if staying here.

So helpful was everyone!! Breakfast from 6 am to 10 am is a bonus for people needing up early and on the road or late sleepers like me. Decent selection of edibles too. Pool looks nice but didn't use. Lobby very nice, brightly colored, nice lighting and with a gas fireplace. They stock snacks and odds n ends for about any need. Good lighting for parking areas. I plan on visiting hotel again when in the Phenix City, Columbus, Ft. Benning area. GA border about 1/4 mile from hotel as the crow flies. Piedmont Midtown Hosp is only 15 mins away, aka about 5 miles. Stop lights make trip 15 mins. You won't be disappointed.

Khai was welcoming and pleasant on check-in and Jasmine was equally as sweet on check out. The hotel was clean, the room was spacious and although we didn’t eat breakfast, it smelled delicious and our coffee was great! Definitely recommend

But the location was not Due to excessive traffic noise My room was very noisy most of the night. I know they can’t control that, but it did not help My stay at this location The good thing is, I was only there for one night.

I booked a room with sofa bed but they didn’t had and they give me much smaller room! I wanted my difference because I’m overpaid they didn’t care ! Their carpet was sticky and smelly . Disappointed with service!

Room was fairly clean. Large stain on carpet and the only chair was very stained. Floors were sticky. Phone did not work. Potatoes at breakfast were room temperature. Waffles were excellent. Eggs were room temperature. Staff was very friendly, especially check-in person, Carol, who was very accommodating and helpful. She was a shinning star for Hampton Inns.

I loved my Hampton Inn experience at Phenix, AL. Breakfast was delicious as always. The place was clean and staff were very helpful and friendly.

All was great except some of the breakfest item's that where to be serverd hot was very cold.

The guest rooms show the same design effort in terms of décor, but the older bones of the building are evident in the flooring and wet bar cabinetry, which haven’t been updated to match the refreshed aesthetic. The highlight of our stay was absolutely the staff. When we detected a smoke smell in our original room at check-in, they responded promptly and graciously, going above and beyond to get us relocated without any hassle. That kind of attentive service is always appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself had several issues that dampened the experience. Housekeeping left something to be desired — the floors had not been swept and the toilet and sink area needed attention. The king bed was fitted with a queen top sheet, leaving both sides noticeably short, and we had some concern about the cleanliness of the duvet insert that was touching us as a result. The air conditioning also struggled to keep the room comfortable. The property has real potential, and the staff clearly care. With more consistent attention to room cleanliness and bedding standards, this could easily be a four-star stay. For now, it was just okay.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Needed a place close to Ft Benning. This is just a quick drive away. Was happy with everything about the stay. Would chose to stay here again if i come back to this area.

I tried to get my reservation canceled with a waiver and Hotels.com said the hotel won’t give me a waiver even though we have stayed there 8 times in the past 7 months

And stay here because my daughter had a college visit had to work all day l a room was still available when we arrived around 11:30 or midnight no problem getting a late check out at noon breakfast was amazing thanks for everything

The young lady who waited on us was fantastic. She was very nice and courteous. The beds were comfortable. There looked to be mold in the shower area.

The hotel was very nice and clean. However, my TV didn’t work and the workout room had 2 peloton bikes that wouldn’t connect to the internet…and there was a water machine with no water in it. Other than that, it was a great stay!

To explain my Odd Entrance under "area around property", the road in and out is difficult to maneuver, then the Entrance was on the back side as you entered the parking lot, just Odd. Oh, there was a sign posted when I checked in that they were helping another guest and would return, please be patient. I didn't ask, but was she the only employee working that location? I waited around 10 minutes at the desk. She was nice, just alone, I guess.

Close to Columbus,GA and Fort Benning. Right off main road that offered numerous options and only 40 minutes to Auburn, Al. We will return again in a few months to visit Fort Benning.

First they had a hard time making us the electronic keys because the system crashed. Next, on Friday at 6:33 am the firearms started blaring. Then were told there was no fire. The alarms were blaring for nearly an hour. Only on fourth floor! Our flour! Our stay was not impressive.

I stayed on this property while visiting my soldier and it was one of the best Hampton Inns I have stayed at. The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast was fantastic and everyone was friendly.

I went into the first room that had bugs, we went to 2 other rooms and there were bugs in all those rooms.I was treated poorly. The GM sent out a message somehow and everywhere I went I was treated badly except for the dentist office. I ended up sleeping in my car for 2 nights after paying for a room because there were less bugs than in the rooms.

The customer service was excellent. I had the pleasure to be checked in by Amy Jordan. After traveling for quite sometime she was able to make my check in painless and swift. The room was clean and I was impressed by the staff, free breakfast and overall appearance of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

If we had not prepared, we would have left and gone to a different hotel. We received no room service over a 5 night stay. We took out our own trash and got new towels ourselves. Broken key fob upon arrival, broken refrigerator. Breakfast is underwhelming. Staff was nice and helpful if we asked for something, but we shouldn’t have to. Overall this place was exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. Clean, comfortable, and accommodating. We rented the two queens, and pull out, and the pull out was fairly comfortable as well.

We got the larger suite with 2 double beds and a pull out couch. The room was VERY spacious! You could tell the property was older, but clean. There were hot options on the breakfast spread, as well as your typical continental breakfast items. My biggest complaint is that there were no food options nearby. There was a gas station next door, but otherwise you have to drive a ways to get any other food option.

We were really disappointed that the Jacuzzi pictured in the photos for this property on Hotels.com did not exist. I’m not sure whether this is the fault of Hotels.com or the hotel itself, so I didn’t let it impact our review, but we had chosen the hotel specifically because there was a Jacuzzi, so it was a big let down.

We stayed here bc we were coming from out of town for Thanksgiving. It was quiet and comfortable. Free breakfast, coffee and tea. The room could’ve been a little cleaner though. We travel with cleaning supplies, so we just cleaned the room ourselves.

Blankets on both beds where dirty! They were dingy and smelled smelled bad! I had to go to the front desk and get my own blankets because the lady couldn't leave the front desk but when I got down to the front desk there where two staff members at the front desk. Breakfast wasn't good either. For the cost of this hotel these types of things are unacceptable.

The hotel lobby was very nice. As far as my room, the water pressure in the sink was very low, had to use water from tub to brush teeth and wash hands. Informed front desk and they offered to change my room but I had already unpacked my things. Other than that there were no other complaints.

Only thing I can say against is that we could hear all the traffic going by.

The bed was loud and squeaky. The tub wasn’t really clean. The other door leading to the other room is creepy and should be taken out. I heard the other party playing with the lock on the door!

Hotel conveniently located across the river from the Civic Center in Columbus, which was our destination. Hotel very clean and inviting. Only complaint, and its an overall issue for Hampton in general are the pillows in the room. Theres nothing to them, i describe them as a pillow case folded up inside another pillow case. Every Hampton I've stayed in has been the same. Other than the pillows, everything was great.

Updated and clean. Front desk “blessed my heart” multiple times during my check-in. Walmart is about 2.5 miles away. Tricky entrance, but you get used to it. Great breakfast! Huge room for our family of 5- We booked the suite. Showers have good water pressure and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion that smell super!

Stayed here for two nights and it was not good. The bathrooms were not cleaned and breakfast was not served. The individuals working on the front desk were a little careless when I told them about these issues.

We have family in the area and visit 2-3 times a year and always stay here. What I love about our stays is the consistancy of service and cleanliness. The breakfast is ALWAYS tasty and the area is impecably clean. The Manager of this location, Amy, is personable AND works hard to insure your stay is comfortable.

Property was very dirty, floor were not cleaned in the lobby, elevator and bathroom floors inside the room. Dirt and dust everywhere. toiletries were not replenished, most of the staff in the bathroom was half full and used by previous guest. I asked for room service such as fresh towel, box of tissue and toilet paper and never received it. Breakfast area was not clean, food options were limited and not very tasteful. Would not recommend this hotel brand. I will never use or stay at this hotel brand again. Terrible experience

I arrived late in the evening and I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The room was clean and neat, the staff was pleasant and it was quiet. Phenix City isn’t a particularly safe area and it takes a couple of weird turns to arrive at the property. But for a single night, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I thought it was a great room and I got a great nights sleep the first night, but the second night there was a team of girls there, and they just would not be quiet until after 1 o'clock. I tried to phone down to the desk my phone didn't work in the room so I use my cell phone to get somebody to come up as really disappointing and spending and take care of the girls softball teams fighting in the hall. I spent all that money and not being able to sleep was very maddening.

The front doors sound like the might fall off the rails when you walk into the lobby. Not a good intro. Staff attitude is that we will sort of ignore you unless you demand attention as opposed to our 3 day stay in the Winfield, AL Hampton Inn where every staff person greeted you when they saw you.

Front desk staff was great. Friendly and very helpful. Did not get housekeeping service daily which I did not like. Asked for it at noon but staff had already gone for the day! Trash cans were full, ran out of toilet paper. Was able to get clean towels at front desk. Room was pretty clean on arrival. Hotel is older but fairly well maintained. Bedding was in need of updating/replacing but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great.

What I did not like were the eggs at breakfast. They were overcooked. That is only a minor complaint and the other choices were great. Will stay at this property again if the opportunity presents.
