Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with some guests praising the cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location, while others express dissatisfaction with the condition of the rooms, lack of breakfast, and poor customer service. Some guests mention ongoing renovations and upgrades.
- Cleanliness
- Friendly and responsive staff
- Poor room condition
- Lack of breakfast
- 2/5
AC didn’t get cool enough. Shower didn’t work.
- 3/5
It was close to stores that I needed to go to The breakfast was too simple
- 5/5
Ive stayed here before because the location is perfect for the Fairgrounds and the owners are lovely people. AND now it has new wood floors! Exceptional value for the money.
- 5/5
Nice room would stay again
- 5/5
A little outdated
- 5/5
Staff was a big help
- 3/5
Staff was nice Breakfast Consisted of danish and coffee No variety
- 5/5
That was super courteous room was fine nice big refrigerator.
- 2/5
The tv service was horrible. The filter in the AC needed changed HORRIBLY and effected my asthma very badly, needa better soap/shampoo super trashy and not to mention the cockroaches.
- 1.5/5
Affordable. Staff was friendly. Gap in door to outside. We could see daylight. Bathroom had mildew around the bathtub/shower. No bedside lamps. We won't stay here again, although the staff was friendly.
- 5/5
It was quiet and clean and they left the heater on in the room for us, which was very nice.
- 5/5
Nice and spacious room, with a booze size fridge. Husband was happy to fit hit beers in there :) bed was cony and room was clean. They had the heater running in the room for us so it’s not cold. Worth the money! Definitely will come back.
- 5/5
Quick check-in. Friendly reception. Large room. Comfortable lounge area. Frig and microwave in room was a nice bonus and were useful. Good water pressure in shower. Safe area in walking distance to restaurants. Fast wifi. Convenient parking just outside my room made it easy to move in and out. Room smelled fresh, was clean and pest free. I had car troubles passing through and had to wait over the weekend for the dealership to reopen on Monday. Given my circumstances and needs, this was an excellent value and suited me perfectly. The bed wasn't my preferred firmness.
- 4/5
Good friendly owner
- 5/5
The cinnamon rolls were ? yummy Heading back home lol
- 0.5/5
Room obtained previous guests items, floor was filthy and so was the sink and tub.\nAnd it had bed bugs
- 1/5
Don't run with stuffy old dirty carpet never stay there again
- 5/5
Clean. Convenient to Cracker Barrel. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was helpful. Appliances worked well. Heat worked well. No chain security on hotel door. Pull out bed/seat uncomfortable. Could not get cold water handle on tub to work. But the good outweighed the bad.
- 4/5
Super friendly staff. Not enough coffee.
- 3/5
Wonderful staff 5 stars, room had a smell that lingered after departure for a day.
- 2/5
Booked for 5 days asked on tuesday if i could cancel friday and was told i needed 3 full days notice for a refund and that was only 2.5 days notice so i ended paying for an extra day for no reason the tv was terrible it skipped so bad that you couldn’t watch more than 1 minute without the show freezing and it was only setup for local cable the smell in the room was ridiculous and smelled like smoke one of the pillow cases had mascara stains luckily i brought my own pillow and the shower stays running the whole time so my wife couldnt run a bath we could only take showers but the only soap provided was facial soap and there was definitely no breakfast provided i would only recommend you to atay if you cant find ANYTHING ELSE the nightly rate is the same as the howard johnson down the road so just go there at least the smell and tv will work and when u cancel in advance u will get ur money back
- 1/5
Went in 2 room one had stains from the box spring to the walls other had bugs.
- 5/5
Katty was great at front desk
- 1/5
Check in was quick except we booked a room for two beds and the guy said that the system only showed that the booking was for one room. We get to our room and it's very hot and the ac took a while to kick in and only cooled down our room by the morning. The shower was barely working and the bathtub was a little dirty. The sheets my daughter was sleeping on also had stains on it. The TV also didn't have any channels except the very few free live TV stuff when you buy a Roku. The blow dryer was also broken and not working. The so called included free breakfast was also non existent basically, we get to the lobby which was a little weird and the guy wasn't even awake so we had to wait for him to get up and actually do something. There was barely any few options and barely any coffee and for the amount you are paying for is not worth it. When we came back to our room we got locked out of it because the door handle randomly broke and it took the owner a bit of time to get us back in. The area itself isn't horrible, but I would not recommend staying here and I would go somewhere else.
- 4.5/5
clean & affordable hot when I entered room & refrigerator smelled
- 2/5
Very old
- 3/5
Re conditions
- 1/5
I didn't like the way the manager talked to me when I went to the front desk to ask about a second charge I knew nothing about or wasn't aware of.
- 4/5
The booking didn't let the hotel know we had a pet
- 5/5
Very clean, nice bed and pillows, friendly staff.
- 3/5
Bed ok. Pillows lousy. Hot water but showerhead poor. Room #120 if memory serves. In room coffee a blessing. Reasonably efficient window heater unit. Zero table lamps - only ceiling mounted lights. Tv ok. Furnishings next trip is to curb. Towels ok. Price good so...
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 2/5
I was on the road for more than 14 hours because of bad weather all day. I was trying to reach this hotel because of the NO REFUND policy otherwise I would have stopped somewhere else earlier. Not to my surprise the no cancel policy is in effect because I would have showed up and observed this place and left to find another hotel. They know this would happen regularly at this place.
- 1/5
Insects observed; disgusting property & owners. Avoid at all costs.. literally.
- 1/5
Left early no refund
- 1.5/5
The facility needs to be updated and cleaned
- 1/5
Rooms very dated and dingy looking. No smoking room but one of the bedspreads had 5 burn holes in it.
- 2/5
I didn’t like the breakfast don’t do sweets and the location of the motel was where I was attending Everything
- 4/5
My stay was actually pleasant. When I first arrived the outside appearance didn't look that welcoming but my room was nice & clean. Very nice staff. No complaints
- 5/5
Very nice staff. The outside appearance could use some work because it makes you misjudge the building. The building is actually nice & the rooms are clean & cozy. I enjoyed my stay
- 1/5
The room smelled like stinky perfume, the bed was hard as a rock, the pillows flat, holes in the bed spread. The table was not the right height to use with chairs. The noise from the room above was banging and slamming. It seemed like being at low rent housing and it was evident that entire familys were in some rooms. the continental breakfast was lousy. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
- 3.5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
Escaping Milton. Excellent staff. Pet friendly. Close to everything. Nothing.
- 3/5
Breakfast was okay, but when I returned home from the hurricane Helene, I checked my banking account and was astounded about being charged $147 twice for the same room. Once by booking and another by the Motel.
- 2/5
Nothing
- 1/5
This place was awful. The room was boiling hot when I went in, it smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking, and they have BED BUGS!
- 4/5
The current owners have not been there very long and so they are still upgrading the rooms and the curb appeal. Our room had a VERY nice sized NEW refrigerator and freezer and a New dual flush toilet.
- 2/5
the staff was not nice at all
- 1/5
The hotel was horrible and needs to be shut down . The rooms are worth no more than $20 if that!! Dirty rags and towels, the floor is falling in, carpet smells, table was broke, etc. it’s horrible!!
- 4/5
I often stay here anytime I am vending at Perry Fairgrounds. It is a no-frill hotel. Older hotel with older furnishings but for the price and closeness to Fairgrounds (1 mile roughly) you cannot beat it for business. It is not a family vacation hotel. Did not see any signs of bed bugs or roaches either. Would stay but for business purposes only.
- 3/5
Ice machine not working. Wet towels in bathroom when we checked in
- 5/5
They were great.
- 3/5
But I have a few complaints - one of the outlets by the bed did not work and the other was so old that my plug would not stay inserted. I can charge my phone across the room, but I did need to use my CPAP machine so I had to get creative. The floor in the bathroom moved under my feet and the wallpaper has been painted so much it is coming off the walls on its own. There was toilet paper, but no Kleenex. I could not hear neighboring guests unless they were outdoors. The air conditioner cooled just okay and clicked on and off loudly throughout the night.
- 4/5
Never again
- 3/5
The toilet paper should be individually wrapped for cleanliness vs bought in bulk and left on the toilet or just handed to buy the manger. The remote for the TV had no legible buttons, as in all the writing was gone.
- 5/5
It was close event we attended
- 3/5
Ok but it a small town
- 2/5
Never stayed because none of my messages were answered and the area was interesting to say the least. The fact that no messages were answered says enough. Will not be trying to stay here again.
- 3/5
Poor maintainability
- 5/5
The owner has done a beautiful job of updating the Inn. My room has been completely done over, and was very comfortable. And SOOO CLOSE TO THE DOG SHOW!
- 4/5
The only thing I did not like was the only lights in the room were overhead lights.
- 1/5
The office was under construction. The clerk said i had no reservation. The bathroom door didnt close it had mold all over the door frame and door. The ac filter was so dirty. I washed it in the bath tub. We were on ground floor and it sounded like a heard of cattle above us all night. At least we had hot water for a shower. But 4 people and 2 towels. Glad i always carry my own. Will never stay at scottish inn again
- 2/5
Sooo outdated. Under construction when we got there. Shady people that seems to be living there. Didnt feel safe. Only plus was the water pressure and comfotable bed. Spend your money somewhere else.
- 4/5
Check in was pleasant enough although I was asked to give a $2 deposit for the room key (which was refunded on my departure). The room needs updating. There is NO place to hang anything up. I also noticed that there was no sprinkler system (in case of a building fire), nor was there any additional interior lock on the room's door. Maybe the latter 2 aren't required by GA state law, but it did seem strange. Additionally, even though the website says 'continental breakfast', there was none because of, you guessed it, Covid.
- 2/5
Hotel could have been better maintained but was decently clean and in working order. However, we were traveling with dogs and asked that they not enter the room to clean while we were not there, and they did anyway. And when we were leaving they decided to tell us they’d be charging our card an extra $20 because they failed to charge us for double beds… which we’d booked and confirmed prior to them charging us anything. The grass was pretty high and they cut it for us to have a place to walk the dogs which I thought was nice.
- 5/5
Thanks!!
- 1/5
I left. This is a crack hotel. Did not want my family staying here. It was awful. Drug addicts doing drugs out front off the rooms
- 1/5
The only thing good was it was close to my work. No service. You advertised hot break fast, no break fast talk less of cold or hot. The advert is deceptive and should be removed from your site. Service is terrible
- 5/5
Affordable and clean. Lots of recent updates! Very underrated.
- 1/5
Well to start the picture on the internet is not the same as location. The place is old and run down. No wonder it says no refund. The parking lot is OLD and as soon as you pull in you know its not going to be good. The lobby if thats what it is is a hole in the wall. The floors in the room are weak and feel rotted. No table lamp. No extras. The towels look like they are beyond washing to look clean. Asked for a non smoking room and the stale smoke smell nearly made me vomit. Smoking is a DISCUSTING habit. You smokers stink in case you didnt know that. And last complaint was finding a roach crawling in the bed. Would never stay here again. They should just tear the place down
- 4/5
The area was quiet. Room clean, the one bad thing no ice machines
- 5/5
Awesome
- 4/5
Effective for a place to stay. Not the best, but good value and willing to help accommodate your stay.
- 4/5
Staff is very professional and helpful.the location was great for our situation.
- 1/5
Rome had bed bugs and was terrible smelly so we checked back out put me in a bad situation stay with y’all a lot but not this place had to find another room last minute
- 1/5
bed bugs got my money back
- 1/5
The rooms smell like cigarette smoke the paint is peeling off the wall The carpets are dirty there was two very large cockroaches in my room when I brought up the situation at the front desk they told me that one or two cockroaches is not a problem but if there was several that would mean there’s a problem The complementary breakfast consist of muffins and coffee nothing else this is a terrible disgusting hotel
- 3/5
Older motel. Needs upgrading. Floors and walls not soundproofed. Heard upstairs occupant’s each step and every time a faucet was turned on. Was okay for one night but not for extended stay.
- 3/5
Uninviting curb appeal.
- 4/5
I love the price......I didn't like the limited selection of the free breakfast. Not enough to eat.
- 1/5
Bathroom rusted cracked tile Bed slept in my clothes room smelled sour. Carpet was sticky. Shoes stuck to floor while walking across carpet. I was in room 121
- 3/5
The outside of the place is dirty and poorly kept. The tub was rusty and the furniture was just pieced together. Some kind of a bad smell in my room.
- 3/5
Property is a little run-down. LIghting in stairwells and hallways was iffy. It is fine for the price point. Otherwise, the manager on duty was very helpful, friendly, and responsive.
- 5/5
Staff is always great every time i say . They go out of their way to help any way they can!!!
- 1/5
I asked for three day rate to be reduced to a two day as I needed to find a hotel where I could rest!!! It was denied!!! Breakfast was rediculous!! Very little offered.
- 1/5
The place had an odor. We tried repeatedly to get on their internet kept telling us it couldn't hook up call the front desk we were told to open the door to our room and leave it open and it may be able to connect. I would not think that anybody's with any sense wood tail two women and a child traveling alone to leave the door to the room open to be able to get internet. This was just a horrible experience but I guess you get what you pay for. First experience are guarantee you will be my last I would not suggest this place for nobody horrible horrible horrible
- 1/5
The room was dirty. The walls very thin. Toilet kept backing up.
- 2/5
pictures look better than the real hotel. Old and outdated. Run down.
- 4/5
Nice place to sleep for several hours, beds were comfy
- 5/5
There was a place to walk my dog and it was well lite at night
- 4/5
Staff was happy and courteous. Room was clean. They advertise free breakfast, but the only thing available was coffee and a Danish.
- 5/5
Have stayed there three times before and family owners are very friendly.
- 2/5
While there we say 2 cockroaches in the room. They had a new wall mounted tv, but still had the old stand where the old tv went. We checked for bedbugs on the mattress sides, did not see any but saw some powder residue all along the top weather it was droppings or treatment not sure. Hotel staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
if you need a clean place to rest your head for one night look no further if you are staying a few days would look else where from a walking stand point around there is a DQ and a restaurant next door open for breakfast and lunch only that is it no stores not much of anything else but plenty within 3 miles if travelling by vehicle
- 3/5
Wifi and cable was good!
- 3/5
Nice clean room at a good price, but you can hear road noise and people standing out front talking almost like they are in your room. You can also hear the people in the rooms next to you easily.
- 1/5
This experience was much like a trip back to the 1960s, when consideration is given to the decor, the poor ceiling lighting, no lamps, crocked floors, no fridge, the deafening bathroom fan, the barely attached toilet, and where do they buy their 25 cents-a-roll toilet paper? Plan on going out for breakfast!
- 3/5
Needs to be updated badly. The toilet in our bathroom moved when someone sat on it. Bathtub looked gross. Free breakfast consisted of two kinds of cereal and orange juice. That’s it. Bed was clean and comfortable at least.
- 1/5
I came from out of town for a funeral with my husband and needed a place just to crash for the night. Stayed here because the price was right, and when we pulled up all of our alarm bells went off. The place was sketchy from the outside (a mattress on the front grass, trash in front of some of the rooms from what appeared to be permanent tenants). Checking in the clerk was barely understandable or clear. The room was a flashback to the 30's. Between the outside and inside of the room appearance, the noises at all hours, and some people wandering around, it wouldn't have surprised us if Hannibal Lecter himself had a room here. With being told Wi-Fi was available and what the password was, we did as told, and it didn't work. Called the front to let them know, and then the front clerk brought 3 other non-employed individuals into our room to tell us we weren't doing it correctly (which in itself was very uncomfortable), and trying to get them to leave was near impossible. After a horrible nights sleep here, going to check out was more interesting. Went to the front, and waited until someone made it up there to let us check out, same guy as the night before, showed up front barely dressed to check me out of the room, and still incredibly difficult to understand, my husband and I couldn't leave fast enough. Very unprofessional and advise everyone to find somewhere else to stay for the night, I'd highly recommend your vehicle or a cardboard box anywhere else.
- 4/5
It’s an older hotel but the room was very clean. They are in the process of renovating. The management and staff were super nice and accommodating. I travel to Perry a few times a year and this will be my “go-to” place from now on.
- 2/5
We had a complaint on our noise level the second night into the week, and the manager was extremely rude about the situation. Even when we fixed the problem, he watched us like a hawk for the rest of the week, which was not necessary considering we fixed the problem and didn’t cause any more. We will not be staying here again.
- 1/5
This interaction solidified my decision to cancel my reservation and report the incident to Expedia. Immediately upon exiting the office, I called to speak with an Expedia representative. After a short time (maybe 5 minutes or so), I reach a live rep. After explain my situation, he "transferred" me to another representative. That transfer was never complete as I waited more than 30 minutes on the line without so much as a courtesy reminder that they'd not forgotten me on the line. Finally, I ended the call so I could focus on finding a new place to stay. Pulling up, I was immediately uncomfortable with both the property & the surrounding area. The photos posted on Expedia are taken in such a way that you cannot see the gas station that is attached/adjacent to the hotel & do not correctly portray it.
- 1/5
They took funds from an account for a time that was not gauranteed. They are bad business . Credit card their. Please don't use them
- 4/5
a lot of bang for the buck very clean, comfortable for 2 people.
- 1/5
Had to ask for the sheets to be changed on arrival had grease stains and dirt spots. Bathroom floor was cracked and the room smelled like cigarettes. No space to hang your clothes being there was no closet or clothes rack in the room.
- 3/5
They were very nice. When the AC turned off, they quickly reponded. The room seemed clean, no oders. The negative was finding roaches and the tub was clogged. I spent only a night so I informed him about the tub at check out.
- 4/5
Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Commode bolts were loose, tightened them myself. Garden in the former pool was interesting, but done half-way. Bath towels we're thick and soft.
- 3/5
Cheap place to sleep. Lots of renovations and very old room decor.
- 3/5
Property looks and feels old. But bed was comfortable, and the price was right. Check-in person was very friendly.
- 4/5
Old hotel. Rms were outdated. But more importantly the service was good. The room clean and the bed comfortable
- 2/5
exterior looked shabby n run down,, sloppily patched holes in wall,, brought to our attention by neighboring business proprietor that most the guests are long term REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER residents... ALLEGED FREE BREAKFAST ? POT OF NASTY COFFEE IS ALL THAT WAS AVAILABLE... Recommend you stay elsewhere.......
- 4/5
comfortable stay overnight
- 4/5
Was a great stay. My friend's room looked updated, my room did not and kind of had a bit of a smokers smell to it, which I chalk up to old carpet etc that just needs to be redone. Friendly staff, great location for GNFG events. Was quiet, and clean.
- 4/5
Staff is really helpful and kind. The rooms are very clean. There were enough towels, shampoo and soap. Breakfast was decent with fruit options. I have stayed here before and if you are on a budget it is a very good place to stay.
- 1/5
He told me one charge for my dogs and wrote down another. Wouldn’t even try to work with me when I ask him about it. Clothes went missing out of our room, that had tags still on them. There were roaches in the room. You don’t over charge for rooms in this condition! We ran out of toilet paper because they just don’t do a good job at room service.
- 3/5
The Motel was very close (walking distance) to the fairgrounds. Food was within close proximity. The rooms were average sized. My real issues were (1) the smell. It smelled like a smoking lounge within the room, despite the no smoking signs. (2) The residents. Although its a motel, they rent by the week/month, which made for interesting residents. I will be polite and leave it at that. Although proximity and price were great, I will not be staying there again.
- 3/5
The building is quite old and probably needs replacing.
- 4/5
Great service! We were there for a livestock show. It met our needs and was a great price.
- 3/5
Very clean and comfy. No frills but for the money it was fine.
- 3/5
Needs to do a Better job cleaning insects and smells from other patrons rooms
