Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location, particularly for those attending events at the Civic Center. However, guests frequently express dissatisfaction with the parking situation, the lack of free breakfast, and the cleanliness of some rooms.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet and well maintained. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to other travelers. Please note that breakfast was not included."

Location was great The pool was closed for repairs. Also, when we went to the restaurant for our complimentary breakfast, the waitstaff kept questioning us and wanted us to pay. I even showed her our room key but she was still unsure. Maybe there needs to be a voucher to prove that you are staying at the hotel and get a complimentary meal

There wasn’t a TV in my room but not a big deal for me. I enjoyed reading and working on the I pad. Internet service was good. My only small suggestion would be that they put dimmers on the light switches, it was a little too bright at night in the living area. I will plan on staying again next time I’m in Perryville.

They switch my order from 2 beds to one no upfront knowledge of this till we got to the room. got injured there. room was gross. There is a lot of fake positive ratings for this location.

Rm 328 was lovely. However, there was no ac that worked. In addition, there was a dorm fridge just put on the floor that had a pubic hair in it. The ice machine across the hall didn’t work either. Otherwise, it was lovely.

This was our first stay at the hotel and the front desk staff were helpful and professional. The parking garage is easy to navigate and the room was clean.
- 3.5/5
The room and facility were excellent... better than I expected. The only thing that tarnished the experience was that someone broke into our car in the garage and stole things. Need more security there. Getting robbed in the garage.

I got a room for my wife for Mother's Day so she could have a "night off" from my son and I. She said she had a good night's sleep and the staff was courteous and respectful. The breakfast was amazing the next day. My son and I met her in the morning. The staff was very friendly and served us during our visit. Very good food for the price.

Pool and hot tub closed until further notice and doesn’t mention that anywhere. That is one of the reasons I chose this property. Also property is nice but a little outdated. Marks on mirrors and doors showing wear.

The staff member at the front desk of the SECOND hotel we were sent to was friendly. He did his best to accommodate us after the awful experience we had at the original location. I reserved two King rooms for April 24, 2026, an overnight stay, so my husband and I, along with my dad and his girlfriend could attend a concert at the Peoria Civic Center, and we were traveling from an hour away. I made this reservation on February 16, 2026 and paid a non-refundable amount of $598, which was promptly charged on 02/18/26 to the credit card I provided. This was more that 2 months prior to the event. Upon our arrival, we were told by a very unapologetic staff member at the front desk that I needed to provide a confirmation number because he had no reservation waiting for us. I showed him the various emails with confirmation numbers I had received, which were unsatisfactory. Upon review, I had received an email the day before our arrival that I believed to be one final confirmation. The clerk pointed out to me that the message I had overlooked the previous day was to inform me that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were being relocated to a Best Western hotel at a different property with an assurance of equal accommodations. To say that was a complete falsehood is an understatement. First, we chose this specific location due to the close proximity of the concert through a skywalk along with local dining. My dad is 73 years old, and his girlfriend currently has a broken arm, so this was more than a mere inconvenience. We were turned away and forced to carry our luggage all the way back to the parking deck and proceed to the alternate location, a very mediocre Best Western, where we were placed in 2 Queen rooms that are rated at $149 per room per night. We were completely denied a refund or discount of any kind. There was no restaurant, bar or lounge, and we had to drive to the concert. There is no question that this treatment is beyond unacceptable. We were treated terribly, and I am thoroughly disgusted with the whole experience.

We never got to stay. They moved us to Best Western. They had emailed in expedia account but we didnt see it until after arrival. We were not happy and really messed up our evening plans.
- 1/5
Not much to say except this place sucks!!! Made the reservation 2 months ago and when we get there to check in, they tell me they overbooked and no longer had a room for us!!! Not happy at all!!!!
- 1/5
Made reservations at the hotel last November. Upon arrival were told 2 things by 2 different people… one was that the third party organization overbooked the hotel, the other was that they had water damage. Not buying either one…. End result is we were booked at a tired best western hotel 4 miles away, which is not what we signed up for. There were a lot of people coming to the cou getting rooms, most for more than one night. We were there for only one night, I’m guessing that is why we got bumped. Not happy
- 0.5/5
Don’t stay here because the hotel overbooked . I booked months and advance to show up and be told I didn’t have a room. They said they had a hotel set up with same amenities. It was a best western. Not worth the $300 I paid for Pere Marquette. I bought Pere Marquette for the reason it was next door to the venue and could walk to it. And will I be reimbursed the difference of roughly $125? They overbooked rooms and I didn’t get the room I reserved
- 4/5
The public areas seemed a little bit dull. For such a storied hotel, the breakfast bar was a bit skimpy.
- 5/5
Overall great hotel! Beautiful.
- 5/5
Everything was great!! I would plan on staying here again! We didn’t get in until late and my son was excited the pool was still open. Everyone was nice and helpful!
- 4/5
Very disappointed in the Fox & Hole we tried to order supper and they were pretty much out of over half of the menu. Our waitress was very polite but had to give us a few things that were available. So we went to our room and had to order pizza…sad.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great with made to order omelets!
- 4/5
Friendly staff all around, with clean comfortable rooms. Definitely a dated property but that’s part of the charm. Unfortunately the area outside the hotel felt somewhat unsafe, and the unloading/parking situation was cumbersome. Would not recommend with young children.
- 5/5
Great location, nice bar. Clean, classy hotel.
- 4/5
Bar area is nice
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 4/5
Clean room, nice amenities overall solid stay. Main note is it was understaffed and didn't seem overly prepared for large groups of patrons. Event at civic center got out at 11pm and hundred some people were turned away from the bar on a Saturday night.

Great experience- would stay here again
- 5/5
Beautiful clean room, delicious breakfast!
- 5/5
Room was fabulous, breakfast was mediocre.
- 5/5
WISH I COULD CHECK IN BEFORE 4PM.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 2/5
Some staff were helpful, many were not. Always something seemed to be missing or out - internet, regular milk, ice cream, printer not working in the business center, no carts or assistance with check-in; confusing entrance location, had to change rooms upon check-in - not as advertised on web; did not shovel snow on front walk - safety issue. Very different experience than our wedding night and reception 50 years ago.
- 2/5
Breakfast was horrible!
- 5/5
Skip the breakfast at the hotel, it’s horrible. Otherwise everything else was great.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff was great and the hotel was beautiful.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I would have liked to see coffee / tea in the lobby for guests after restaurant business hours.
- 5/5
Smells so clean and nice! Live music in the lounge. We loved our stay - would def stay again.
- 5/5
We were just for an overnight
- 4/5
The hotel was very beautiful only thing is the hot tub wasn’t working and they said they have omelette at the buffet and they didn’t
- 4/5
Didn't use
- 4/5
rooms were a bit on the small side
- 3/5
Needed a cot, food options were limited and what was available, was too expensive for what you got. Limited amenities. Probably exploring other options next time. Not terrible, just not the most pleasant experience. Elevator situation desperately needs improvement
- 3/5
Have stayed previously. Like that it’s has tunnel to the convention center. Although it was not accessible due to upgrades being done. It happens. The big bummer was the hot tub being out of commission. We were bummed about that. Happens but that’s one of the main reasons we stay here.

Clean room, quiet,

Overall very clean staff was very attentive, perfect set-up for anyone going to the civic center for a performance!!

It was a nice easy experience. Will definitely stay again
- 5/5
The hotel is clean and beautiful!
- 5/5
The Staff was awesome. They could not have been more welcoming and accommodating.
- 3/5
The property itself is gorgeous, but the rooms themselves feel old and under-maintained. Our mattress was WET on arrival, between the mattress and blankets. Took 30+ minutes for a bedding change. The property does not feel very diasbility friendly, as someone with mobility issues. Lots of stairs and long, long walks are a necessity, especially if you want to use the skywalk. Overall its nicer to look at than to stay at. Would not stay again at the price i paid, despite how fabulous the bed was - once it was clean and dry of course.
- 1/5
We called for the shuttle and they told us to call when we arrive at the airport. Our flight was delayed and late, when we called they said they didn't have a shuttle bus and then we were lucky to get a ride from another shuttle service. It turns out it was for the same hotel. Terrible communictaion. When we checked in they didn't give the breakfast meal vouchers which we didn't know about so when we went to breaskfast they were trying to charge us. We left without breakfast. We asked staff about the indoor pool and they told us they didn't have one! There was such a lack of competency we thought this hotel was going down. How could it be a 4 star hotel, it was a 1-star experience.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and rooms were very clean. There's nothing i would complain about everything was perfect.
- 5/5
Best check in i have ever had..very courteous. Clean rooms and hotel was clean.
- 5/5
Great room to stay for a show at the civic center especially in Fall/Winter no need to walk outside
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, fantastic location.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
The fruit was not fresh, the coffee was cold, and the bacon was overcooked. Customer service was great, and the receptionist was polite and professional. Our flight and luggage were delayed; we landed at 2:15 a.m. on 12/20/25 and arrived at the hotel at 5:45 a.m.

The hotel double charged me I'm out 250 dollars hotel room was dirty

My room was smaller than the picture which was fine. But sadly there was no safe for valuables and anyone can ride the elevator.

The windows in rooms to outside dirty .. carpet in room dirty .. dinner took over 45 minutes after order and was cold . Restaurant not packed .. dizzy server said it was under heat lamps !! Sat after dinner for 15 min to get to go container and pay bill had to find the three servers behind the register behind the wall.. horrible service !

Service, as always!! Amazing
- 5/5
Room was decent, staff was very helpful. Elevators were constantly full thought.
- 5/5
Friendly
- 3/5
The view from our window was a big air handler. Our room keys didn't work, so that required a couple visits to the front desk to get resolved. The card reader at the garage exit didn't work, either, so that required another visit to the desk.

The property itself is beautiful. Rooms clean, food was good but we arrived at check in and had to wait 3 hours for the suite to be ready. Came back from a concert and wanted bottles of water and they said they didn't have any in the building for purchase or otherwise. Staff was nice but the hotel is not ran well.

Staff was friendly & rooms were nicely decorated & clean. Will stay again.
- 3/5
Property itself was beautiful BUT construction all over downtown, Homeless Shelter 1 block away , NO parking for drop off at hotel, Parking garage VERY hard to find and the elevator was broken. We had to carry all of our bags down 4 flights of stairs.
- 3/5
While the room I stayed in was nice and clean, the staff was friendly enough but don't seem to know what they are doing. They told me the temporary incidentals charge that was pending on my credit card would fall off, it did not. It cleared and now no one knows what to do to resolve the issue and refund me the charge. I have been on a call with the front desk that then transferred me and transferred again only to end up at a voicemail hoping to get a call back. It was a nice enough place but book on a credit card because if this can't be resolved I'll have to dispute it with my credit card
- 4/5
The hotel was clean. The restaurant was okay. Food was overpriced for what it was. The lady who checked us in was amazing. The lady who checked us out was horrible. She was so rude. I was simply trying to check out and ask a question about a charge on my card. She had a horrible attitude and was literally rolling her eyes at me while I was speaking. Don’t work in the industry if that’s the customer service you deliver.
- 5/5
The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and photo worthy from corner to corner. If you love pizza, there's a delicious pizza spot right across the street from the hotel. It's a pizza pub and stays open until 4am. When we visit Peoria, this is where I would like to return to for every visit.
- 5/5
Rooms were great, the drapes were hard to close, so the street light and sunrise was in my eyes.
- 2/5
Staff at check in was cordial and professional. Room was wll kept if a little cold and did have a very sterile smell to it. I had left my room for about two hours and when I returned I met a stranger leaving my room as I was walking in. He held up a key and said that his key opened my room by mistake. I got into my room and noticed some personal items stolen. I went back to the door and he was gone. I went to the front desk and told them what happened and their first question was. "Was he a guest or did he look homeless?" Security was called over repeat the scenario and he gave me the same question. No one on staff at that time had access to anything that could look for the guy or see if his badge he showed me did actually scan into my room until the night shift came in. I heard my door make a noise at 10pm. Looked in the peep hole and it was the night shift. Went to put some pants on and when I got back they were already gone. No knock at all. When I checked out, the day staff were not made aware of the incident and they never even called the police to file a complaint. You would think that in the spirit of doing good business they would at least investigate or let the authorities know about it. But instead they just ignored it, and didn't even bother to tell the staff what happened. Must be pretty common then.
- 5/5
Dining in house. Pleasant staff. Noisy morning neighbor - 6am. Bathroom door works hard.
- 4/5
Very nice property. Hard to find parking for check in, then $15 to park in garage. Close to riverfront festival.
- 3/5
Neat building history, nice bar, restaurant. The Pos. The Neg. Public parking ramp behind hotel which you could park for free , said charged 15 by hotel a 50 dollar charge was on my bill, waiting for rest to drop off!
- 5/5
I always enjoyed my experience at this hotel. Its my #1 choice.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly!! Breakfast buffet was delicious. Would definitely return.

- 2/5
Hotel rooms need attention, and staff are not responsive.
- 5/5
The staff and hotel were amazing! The only issue we had was our AC in the room didn’t work. We contacted the desk and they said they would send maintenance, but we never saw them nor did it ever get cool in the room.
- 5/5
Unique old building
- 5/5
Lovely room, well appointed. Staff was gracious and responsive, and went the extra mile to make our stay great. Loved the breakfast, Enjoyed dinner at Table 19. Perfectly located for day trips to the Peoria Zoo and Riverside Museum.
- 3/5
Elevator weren’t working. Got stuck in the elevator
- 4/5
We had delayed check-in, and ended up with the wrong room after having to wait for house keeping. It was resolved timely, and we received a bar voucher as mediation for the inconvenience, but discovered it only covered one drink only in our party of two which was less than ideal. Staff was friendly in all interactions. However, our suite was dated with peeling wallpaper, stained sheets and stained carpet, a very small bathroom, and in-room coffee was not good. I don’t think the value equaled the price, and I would likely explore other lodging if I were in the area again.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with an extremely good staff. So helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
The staff was awesome. The Breakfast was so good! I personally complimented the cooks. I have stayed in hundreds of Hotels and never had such amazing tasty breakfast as I did today!
- 4/5
Needed more towels/ rags in room. Wish we had a microwave. Hot tub down, lots of walking to parking garage. All in all the place is nice, workers are great. Clean. I would say for the price we could’ve done better but all in all it was decent
- 5/5
Everything we needed within walking distance. Older Hotel but well maintained with style
- 3/5
This hotel is very pretty. Parking is not free so be prepared for that. When we stayed a baseball tournament was going on so the hotel was packed with teen boys and parents. The two main issue that we had was the elevators. We had to use the stairs several times (door behind the front desk that lead to the kitchen and then up the flights of stairs) and it was filthy and smelled aweful. 7 flights of stairs was not fun but the alternative was waiting for 15 min for the elevator. The other issue was the amount of other peoples hair in the room (a lot in the bathroom). I dont like finding excessive hair in hotel rooms, yuck.
- 5/5
the hotel was very nice and super convenient to get to convention center
- 1/5
Hotel nice but big queue to check in only one guy on
- 1/5
When we went to check in, I had to stand in line for 15 to 20 minutes waiting for an agent for check in while the manager stood at a computer doing his own work and the other two were checking people in Clearly there wasnt enough staff to check people in and he did not sway from doing his own personal responsibilities instead of jumping in and helping. I got to my room and the key cards didn’t work. The pool was shut down before the hours It said it would shut down so we didn’t get to swim I called Expedia and they were horrible! I stayed online with them for 37 minutes just to get $75 back from the Marriott and a $50 next gift card from Expedia. This was horrible customer service on both parties! I hardly ever leave a review but this time I felt I should say something! When they mess up they don’t do the right thing. This should’ve been a full refund! I suggested 100.00 because all rooms were booked in town so they got to charge high prices. They just give you a little partial part I am not going to sleep well tonight because my room is 80° when it’s 92° outside right now
- 1/5

Loved our stay. Staff made us feel welcome and comfortable
- 5/5
The hotel stay was amazing
- 3/5
The bathroom shower around the bottom was nasty on the inside of the shower as well as on the out of the shower near the floor. There was also a loud drippping sound coming from the shower. I woke up at 2:30 and thought the shower was leaking and I was gonna put a towel down there to absorb some of the drip, but apparently it's coming from the inside of the wall.
- 4/5
My stay was pleasant. Rooms were decent my floor was quiet I felt safe and there was ample parking. If i had to give one critique it would be that the carpet would benefit from a routine cleaning. The carpets have a lot of spots and are very dirty.
- 5/5
Employees were great!
- 3/5
Wasn't anything special. Had to wait 10 minutes for an elevator after check-in because one (of the three small elevators) was broken and there were so many people trying to go up/down. The trek from the parking garage is long and inconvenient given they charge a daily fee for parking on top of the room charges (and the gate arms in/out of the garage didn't even work, for that matter). Carpet in the room had stains and the bed and pillows were just meh. I expected more from this property and was unfortunately disappointed.

Very clean, with great customer service and a nice-sized pool. The breakfast was okay, but better than most hotel breakfast buffets. Parking is $15 for the garage, but there is also street parking available.
- 5/5
Well I can only speak for myself and my lady friend, but I think that it's in the perfect spot other than I would watch it when you leave the hotel in the middle of the night because there tends to be a whole bunch of crazy people who don't seem to have anything to do except for bugging you for money outside the hotel. Now since I used to own a bar that would have sat right where the hotel next door is at now, I'm a little bit more equipped to deal with these weirdos out there, but I'm just speaking in general about what it is that I noticed when we stayed there last night.
- 5/5
Great experience on such a busy weekend
- 5/5
It is alway w pleasure to be here and alway clean comfortable bed and enjoyable
- 4/5
Stayed here to attend concert at Alliance center. The skywalk to the Center was great and very convenient. Hotel room nice with comfortable bed. Quiet.
- 5/5
The property outside needs cleaned up the walkway are dingy and dirty and trash was overflowing in the parking garage by the elevators and elevators themselves were dirty but our room was very roomy and brite clean and the carpet was soft and clean beds are comfortable night staff was great for checking in
- 5/5
We love this hotel. My only complaint was the service at the restaurant. The staff there were very unfriendly and didn't show much interest in serving us, presumably because my 14 year old daughter and I weren't ordering excessive amounts of alcohol and were hungry from a full day including travel and simply ordered food to be eaten in our room. Otherwise we had a great stay.
- 1/5
Not good
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Room was extra large. Bed was very comfortable. Carpets looked a bit on the older side, maybe they weren’t but they wanted that look due to nature of hotel decor. Anyway it would not deter me from staying there. Very convenient to get into events at Civic Center. There’s a walkway from the hotel directly into facility. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
Waited 30 minutes to check in then when we got to the front desk our room was not ready at it was after4. The lady at the desk didn’t seem concerned and didn’t offer to do anything about it.
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff! Daniel and Brandon at the front desk were great! Highly recommend this hotel.

We were there for a concert at the Civic Center. It was nice to have a skywalk connection. They turn out all lights in the hallway from the Civic Center to the skywalk very soon after the concert. The bathroom in the room was about the size of a small closet. The Table 19 restaurant is awful - horrible service, horrible wait times for the food and the overpriced food was gross. While waiting for checkout (because there is no express checkout), the staff was raising their voice to someone on the phone. The only plus was the bed was quite comfortable (if you can get past the feel of the sheets)

Check in was quick and rep wadls informative.

There was mold in the shower and the room was small for the price. The bed was comfy and the front desk was great at getting me in the room as I had an appointment at 3:00pm

Have stayed here before approx 10 yrs ago. Was a great property. This trip, initial room I checked in smelled of mold and air conditioning was inoperable. The 2nd room also smelled, but tolerable. However carpeting had not been vacuumed. Upon taking a shower, noticed bathroom floors were dirty and hand long strands of hair all over the floor. Won’t stay again unless there is a MAJOR Reno!

The hotel itself was great and our room was amazing. I would absolute stay at the hotel again the next time I’m in Peoria, however, I will bypass the hotel restaurant for dinner.

Peaceful, quiet stay. Comfy beds! I would have given all 5 stars but the check in line was extremely long. Finally got our keys to the 7th floor only to find that the keys were not working....so back to the line we go....

Everything about the Hotel stay was excellent, but we had dinner in the hotel restaurant that evening after our event, they did not anticipate it being busy, ordered food at 830p got it at 945p, was a little cold. People all around us were upset, felt bad for waiter as this was a management issue, very under staffed not prepared for crowd they had.

Great!

Couldn't get the heat going. Called front desk, I understand the hotel was full didn't need to change rooms etc.....they said they would bring up an extra blanket. They didn't even do that.

I love the history and the tasteful renovation. The convenience for the Bob Dylan concert was unbeatable.

Nice hotel downtown close to civic center. We went to a show at theater and it was cool to walk across the road or take the skywalk from the hotel. Our rooms carpet felt like they might have needed a cleaning. They just felt dingy but room seemed clean and staff were great. They have parking but not sure why they charge 15 dollars for it. There is no attendant or anything but at least it wasn’t bad to park. Overall we would stay again if we end up going back to a show in the vicinity again.

Excellent location if you are attending an event at the Peoria Civic Center. Be prepared to use a lot of different elevators.

Close to near by attractions

My group had so many mess ups during our stay. From botched room service orders, to chip in our beds, to rude night staff. It's a beautiful hotel, but still leaves a lot to be desired.

We had a gentleman at the desk, his name was Brandon. He was absolutely fabulous. Very friendly and inviting to the hotel. He deserves a raise!

We were in town for the 8th grade All State Volleyball Classic for my daughter. We had a wonderful stay at this location; my daughter (who is hard to impress, lol) made multiple comments about how nice the hotel lobby was and how nice our room was. The water was hot and the water pressure was amazing--two things you often don't see in a hotel (in my experience). We will be back in May for two weekends of club volleyball and intend to stay at this same hotel. We were very pleased with the room, the staff at the front desk, the cleanliness, and the ease of walking nearby for a quick bite to eat. Very pleased, 10/10.

So convenient to stay here when attending events at the civic center.

Quiet property within walking distance of many places of interest & dining options. Being connected to the Civic Center where we enjoyed a concert was a huge plus, as well as the attached parking garage. The only downfall was a tiny bathroom.

It is a very nice building. It has been updated but maintain the old building feel. Breakfast was not the greatest. Could not get to the pool and jacuzzi from Pere but had to ealk over to Court yard to get in. The bar and large surrounding area with tables and chairs very nice. Over all a very nice stay.

Very comfy. I slept so good. I ate well. I enjoyed the pool and work out room. The staff was very friendly.

Just kind of weird that they were charging almost $20 a person for what I would call medium tier complimentary breakfast at best..

The shower head alone was hands down worth the price of the room. High enough for a tall (6') person to stand under without crouching and had excellent water pressure. The beef was very comfortable too - soft but still firm with great support. The fact that it's an easy stroll across the skywalk to get to the Civic Center is a great bonus. We will definitely stay here again.

There was a kids wrestling tournament in the area. They needed w elevators all weekend, making it impossible to get an elevator. Breakfast was wiped out. We looked for soda when we got back from our concert and it was all gone.

Overall stay was good. Had a competition going in the civic center so it was nice that it was connected.
