Holiday Inn Express Pensacola West - Navy Base by IHG

The only reason I chose this property was for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub didn’t work. It had hot water in it but no operating jets. This was disappointing to say the least. The pool was quite dirty with bugs and such. The best part was no one was in either besides us. 3 lounge chairs and maybe 4 others. If you are looking to book just for these 2 amenities I would t suggest it. Our room was great. We had a king room. Only thing missing was a coffee maker but the coffee provided as well as breakfast was great. The front desk did not ask how our stay was or acknowledge the inoperable hot tub which were both disappointing

The floors were dirty and sticky. The shower didn't look clean. My TV had issues, and they sent a maintenance person on the second day to fix it. I had a staff member, possibly a housekeeper enter our room while we were sleeping. She said she thought she was on the third floor instead of the second... she never knocked. The staff overall were friendly enough, but I needed quarters to use the washing machine and couldn't get them. There was nowhere close by that was open to get them either. There should be another way.

They did not know how to process an Afterpay payment, the blankets on one bed were dirty, the guy change our room, only to a worse room, the other room looked like it hadn't been cleaned after a couple had a nice weekend of Valentines, we had to go to the original room, he gave us new blankets, we were exhausted from an 8hr drive, to see our son in the bear military base, they still didn't fix the payment issue, they were to refund us half, and didn't, they just refunded the deposit. Will not stay here again sadly.

The hotel is in a good location and easy access to travel around the area. The breakfast staff/lady was awesome, and the overall experience was really good. N/A

Location was great, very convenient. The staff was also nice. The breakfast was surprising, it had a ton of options which was very much appreciated. Cleanliness of the room was great too. The comfort of the bed wasn’t the best but when I finally got to where I was able to sleep, the other people on our end of the hall were pretty noisy (which isn’t the hotels fault). Some of the bedding had some good size stains, it smelled clean though. Also one of the main reasons I chose this location, was for the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was out of order BUMMER, and while the pool was nice, it didn’t look the cleanest so we chose not to swim.

Room was pretty clean, breakfast was good- many protein options. Unfortunately traffic from New Warrington road was LOUD at night. We were on the 4th floor on the north side of the building. Other than that staff was great and the hotel was about 20 minutes from most areas.

The hot meals were quickly replenished and the variety was perfect for the whole family of 6 that came with us ranging from 4 years old to 74 years young.

The staff was great. Food was wonderful. However, the room can use a little updating. The toilet continually ran and was not steady it rocked a little when you sat down. The bathroom door needs to be adjusted has it scraped the floor and was hard to close and open in certain areas. Not the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. When we travel, we 99% of the time choose Holiday Inn Express and this was a little concerning. But like I said the staff at check in and breakfast were outstanding.

I guess I should have called ahead because that was one of the main reasons we booked a room for a couple days,so the wife and I could just get away and relax. The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly and the bed was excellent! We loved the breakfast buffet too.

The bathroom was not clean. You could see the dark ring on the sink from where a bottle had been sitting. Apparently housekeeping doesn’t clean thoroughly.

The hot tub was not in working condition. The night front desk person was less than friendly. Could not get the T.V. to work until our 2nd day. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The day shift employees were nice and polite. The room was clean.

When we got there, they said they could not provide two rooms close together or even on the same floor. They were going to put us on separate floors. I raised hell, and they came back with a room close to mine, but not a single King room.

The one bad thing was the TV, the remote did not work. We had to use a button on the TV which was very inconvenient.

This may sound silly but the toilet was really low. As far as the room that’s the only complaint. I did think it was a little pricey but my Mom and Dad used your hotels a lot that’s why I used you guys.

I was on the 1st floor in the back side and there was a skunk outside and it was smelly about 75% of the time. They need to work on critter control. Especially SKUNKS!

We had a major problem when the Fire Alarm System went off at 2:00 am when we were all asleep and hotel had no way to inform us to evacuate. No call to room phones, no loudspeaker announcement capability, only one overnight staff person to come up to floors to inform us if it was a false alarm. After fire department completed inspection. They cleared us to return to rooms but unfortunately we were on 4th floor and there was one elevator and Fire Lieutenant could not reset it with their key so we were forced to walk up 4 flights of stairs and I have a bad hip. Going down stairs and back up was painful. Hotel made no offer to Comp our room and they closed the breakfast area exactly 10 am when many guests slept later so we had a miserable night and no breakfast. Would not stay again and I highly recommend anyone with a mobility issue not stay above 2nd floor ever. Manager following morning wasn’t very compassionate about what we endured.

The hotel was OK and I would stay there again. When we arrived, there was no toilet paper in the room and no extra linens for the pull out bed (I alerted the hotel in advance that we required a pull out couch and again at check in.) - relatively easy fixes with a trip to the lobby. The room was damp - I don't know if this was because of the proximity to the beach or the a/c unit. When you sat on the couch, your bottom got wet. The pancake machine didn't have batter in it and the staff didn’t seem to care/notice. It just seemed like a general sloppiness/laziness to the day-to-day details. Ironically, they post notices all over about a rating of anything less than 10 will "break [their] hearts." The water pressure is fantastic, though. However, for the price, I would have expected a closer attention to detail.

We continued to inform the staff the remote control does not work well, but he kept telling us the remote works, and we constantly have to pull three different plugs from the TV to get it to work. Yet, it still did not work like a remote should.

The front desk guy was horrible. I should have known there was going to be issues. I walked up and the guy was arguing with the guest in front of me, telling him the guest was in the wrong. Upon a phone call from the guest, the attendant was wrong. Come to find out all the information was indeed there. Instead of the attendant apologizing for being wrong he just handed the keys over to the guest and sent him on his way. Now it's my turn. I reserved my room 2 weeks ahead of time. Swipe my card, declined, didn't make since so i call my bank, and pull up my app. Charge was infact authorized and funds withdrawn. I show the attendant. He argues with me and my bank saying nope didn't happen. Won't let me check in. Claims that the other holiday inn in the next town charged me but not his.... i step aside bc he was creating a hostel situation when i had other people behind me waiting to check in. I go back inside to discover that attendant left and was replaced with a different attendant. Come to find out i was right the whole time and the new attendant checked me in. The manager of the location was very helpful the next day as well. But I will never again visit this location.

My stay was very nice. The room was comfortable and bed were very comfortable. My only complaint is the carpet had stains and the bathroom floor could have been cleaner. The celing in the bathroom was starting to peel so that was not so great and there was rust forming around the drain in the bath tub. Other than these things everything else was perfect.

They said none were cleaned yet (at 2:30) so they insisted we take a 2 queen room. When we got to our room the air conditioner was taken apart on the floor. They came and put it back together put still.lastly the lighting in the room was terrible it was always dark

I booked from Monday night till Thursday Morning. With the cat 5 hurricane I wanted to get my family home back to Texas. So we left Tuesday afternoon. I was told that I was not going to get a refund for Wednesday. Why would I not get a refund for a day I checked out a whole day before. The woman working came out of the back with an attitude telling me “Noooo” with a rude look on her face when I asked if I could have my money back the the day I clearly won’t be there.

The night staff, a gentleman, was so incredibly friendly. He called after we checked in to see if everything was ok in our room. He brought the extra linens we asked for and was very kind. I love the later check out. Most places make you leave by 10.

The staff was great everyone was so friendly. I think the guy who talked with me and my grandson was really friendly I think he was a house man wish I would’ve gotten his name I will be staying here again when I visit my daughter

Started out bad didn't get the room that I had booked with walk in shower. But the stay was good. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was awesome.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. They had everything that I needed in the room and breakfast every day with a large selection of items to eat and drink. I loved it, would definitely stay again!!!!

The room was clean and the decor was pleasant, the bed was very soft and cozy.

The staff was extremely professional and kind during checkin. Despite a lizard in the room I was to be assigned, they were great at accommodating my arrival.

The hot tub not working was disappointing, but as always the breakfast was amazing.

The folks that checked us is, really appreciated Shardays professional and friendly attitude.

This is completely adequate if your in town on business, visiting the military installation, or just passing through. Nothing about it is terrible, nothing about it is great. It’s completely adequate…oh and elevator is slow

They make you check out towels at the front desk and sign them back in after use… rather disappointing for a decent hotel

The hotel was nice and clean and the room was spacious, but if you’re planning on going to the beach be prepared to drive at least 15-20min with no traffic. Other than that it was nice!

Had to leave and get her to the doctor by our home.
