The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was perfect size for me and my kids, very clean. View is amazing and perfect location to visit everything. Will definitely be staying here again!

The beach is close to hotel and so is the fishing pier—we had a blast at this location with so much to do—beach/fishing/swimming/ paddle boats/shopping/ etc…

Cons: The building is very outdated! It needs a major overhaul for everything! Housekeeping staff aren’t that friendly. There are a few who can’t understand English. We had to keep asking for towels even after turning all of ours in. You have to request housekeeping before 9 am the previous day or you won’t get it. The skirt of the beds is nasty! They look like they haven’t been washed in years! There were dog treats under our bed and it was filthy under there! There should be specific rooms for people who bring dogs. Ours was not supposed to be one, but it was, and not cleaned thoroughly afterwards. They do furnish shampoo, conditioner, and soap for bathing but ours was empty.

The most perfect little beach hotel. The staff is personable and the free rentals are just the cherry on top! You get free hot breakfast, the rooms are so cute with a beach theme, and the hotel is the perfect size to feel homey & quaint.

This is an older "no frills" motel, BUT it is in a wonderful spot. The staff is super friendly. Elisabet is a very welcoming hostess. This is where I stay EVERY SINGLE TIME I am in P'cola.

I got exactly what I paid for. I booked a last minute getaway and I wanted it to be budget friendly. This hotel fit the criteria. The room was nice and exactly as pictured, the staff was very nice and helpful, it is right across the street from the beach. We crossed the intersection and walked through the parking lot of Crabs to go to the beach each day. The free bike rental was a nice perk offered by the hotel. One Con: the hotel should get new sheets. Had to request new sheets upon checking in and viewing the room. One thing worth mentioning: our room was facing a bar that played loud music, had screaming women, and loud whistles. The noise wasn’t bad with the door closed however it could still be heard. If you are a light sleeper or traveling with kids you should probably request a room away from the bar. It did not bother me so I didn’t take any points away for that.

My kids LOVE the free paddle boarding and Kayaking! The access to Little Sabine is perfect for younger kids and every year the dolphins have visited! The complimentary breakfast is also a HUGE help with little kids. I highly recommend this spot of walkability to the island. Now you can also buy a pass to visit the pools on the gulf side for $20 per adult for your whole stay! Look no further for epic memories. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous.

Definitely would stay again! Great location for the beach. We walked right across the parking lot & the public bathrooms and the pier are all right there. Room was clean and nice sized fridge and microwave. No freezer. All needs were met. The room could use some hooks to hang clothes and swimsuits. Another mirror would be a good addition. Walkable to shops and restaurants!!!

Nice place to stay, liked it was across the street from public beach and had the small beach on the bay side. Nice they had bikes we could borrow and location was great that we didn't have to drive to go eat! It would be nice to have added hooks or a retractable line across tub to hang suits to dry. Tub did not have a plug to be able to take a bath.

Overall, we had a good weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really good, and the location is fantastic—right in the center of Pensacola Beach. The retro beach vibe is fun, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the property. That said, for the price, we probably wouldn’t stay here again. We paid a little over $700 for two nights, and while it was less than a condo, it wasn’t significantly less. For a few hundred dollars more, we could have had a full kitchen, more space, and newer accommodations. The rooms have been updated with fresh paint, colorful headboards, and fun beach-themed décor, but the property itself is starting to show its age. While everything appeared clean, there are areas that have a worn feel that fresh paint alone can’t completely fix. For the rates being charged, I think the rooms could benefit from a more substantial renovation. We also had a few issues during our stay. The toilet ran continuously throughout the night, the door had a noticeable gap, and the beds and pillows were not very comfortable. One thing that would make a big difference is providing a broom or small vacuum in each room. Being so close to the beach, sand gets tracked in constantly, and there’s no easy way for guests to clean it up.Overall, we’re glad we had the experience

The only good in that hotel is the location. The photos and description are very nice, but absolutely everything else is just terrible. The building is old and it stinks. There was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor via a dirty, urine-stained staircase—you’d be better off not touching the railing, or you might catch something. The room was dirty, the bathroom had mold, the towels were filthy, the bedding had been washed but was covered in stains and hair, and the fridge was dirty. At night we woke up to the sound of water pouring down—it was just a stream of water leaking from their air conditioning unit. The beds were awful—creaky and uncomfortable. The staff was terrible, except for the woman serving breakfast—she was fantastic! As for the pool, it’s absolutely tiny and was closed almost the entire time. Avoid this place! Location Dirty. There was some kind of sludge on the bathroom door frame that could have been cleaned (wiped off with tissue) but was just left there so it really was questionable if the room was properly clean. The surrounding area was littered with trash (drinking cans etc) along the hallways. Not nearly as bright and clean as pictured at all.

This is a wonderful family friendly hotel!!! We’ve stayed here twice over 4 years apart and both were excellent. It is a little older, but they do a great job job keeping it up and maintenance. The staff is the shining star of this hotel, just so nice and helpful. Breakfast is complimentary and really good for hotel breakfast. You can use their bikes, paddle boards, boogie boards, shovels, beach equipment as well. Definitely recommend, best hotel at this price point by far.

This hotel does not look how it was shown in the picture. Do not get fooled by the pics. Smelly because people smoking and not clean. Rooms were small, crouched, and rusted . Pool is too small has rocky sides and bottom, and not heated. Private beach is really tiny, with no beach feel. Only good thing about this hotel is that it is close to pensacola beach, quiet water beach and resturants.

Cons- we paid extra for a bay view and were disappointed. It was a small window and really was a view of the pool area. Not at all worth the large price. There was no soap in the shower dispenser. And the towels are small and thin.

Pictures posted on website made this place look a lot nicer then it was. Door to the room had sunlight popping threw it down the side, then the humidifier was making noises, this was the only thing I had called the front desk about and she told me to just unplug it and I said are we sure it's working at all because it was super humid in the room when we walked in. So I unplugged it and a maintenance guy was there within 5 minutes but I told him don't worry about it we juat wanted sleep. There was mold in the bathroom floor as well, everytime a neighboorr flushed a toilet closed a door or spoke loud in anyway you heard it. Oh, and the toilet was running sporadically during the night.the front desk lady's where nice but was it. Also parking was an additional 10 dollars a night which was bogus as well

Close to the beach I was not able to get a receipt I booked thru booking.com because the rates were cheaper staff stated I had to get receipt from Booking.com, I use Booking .com all the time and this is the first Hotel that would not provide me a receipt.

The free paddle board, kayak rentals. Breakfast, staff. There is no bathroom near the beach, the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was very small and not the cleanest on the walls, doors, and headboards. The toilet ran forever, and the walls were thin. We could hear neighbors slamming doors and talking all night.

Best part is location is close to everything. Easy walk to the beach, by a beautiful pier. Elizabet, who oversaw the breakfast, was absolutely delightful. Rooms were as expected in size, they seemed nicely updated and noticeably very clean. The beds were comfortable. Most of the reception desk workers were kind and friendly. It's expensive for what you get, but during the high season, this is pretty normal. Maybe adding some yogurt and other healthy breakfast options would be a good idea. But Elizabet's waffles were great. We had a great experience overall.

The room was a bit dated, the elevator too. The amenities ,staff,and breakfast are great. James was so friendly and a great help. Elisabet has the breakfast moving at a exceptional rate. Loved the kayak and paddle board.

We have travelled to Pensacola Beach multiple times and each time we stay at Surf and Sand. Each time we stay the rooms are clean, the staff are welcoming and always willing to help us with any questions or needs. We enjoy being able to walk everywhere and use the rental bikes provided by Surf and Sand too. Breakfast is always fresh and enjoyable. We will continue to come back to Surf and Sand!

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures online. It is very run-down and outdated. It is also a motel, not an indoor hotel. My family was very disappointed in the accommodations.

Staff Felicia was the best. Toilet broken. It definitely wasn't clean because there was a wet rag in the shower when we got there and the elevator by the elevator smelled of urine

Staff was nice, breakfast was the same eggs and sausage every morning. Rooms were diet and bars/flies would fly out of sink drain when you would turn on the water. I selected the pay at property option, and was informed if my card was charged before my arrival it would only be the price of the first night. That was not the case because my debit card was declined at the gas station due to the morning crew charging the full amount that morning. Afternoon staffed helped correct the problem but still didn’t change the fact my checking went into the negatives. For the price I highly recommend shopping around or spending a little more at a better maintained facility. Upon day to depart I could get the luggage cart into the elevator due to a trash been being in there with no worker. I waited 15 minutes before someone got it out of the way. And the other elevator was not working.

On the other hand, the older lady with glasses at the front desk was not very friendly. Whenever we asked about using the bikes or paddle boards, she would give us unpleasant looks and made us feel like we were asking stupid questions. We felt judged and uncomfortable interacting with her, which was disappointing. When you're paying for a 5-day stay at a hotel that isn’t cheap, you expect to feel welcomed and comfortable asking questions about amenities that are included with your stay. Overall, Elizabet made a wonderful impression, but the front desk experience took away from what could have been a much better stay.

Staff went above and beyond in every aspect to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The complimentary paddle board, kayak, and bike use was worth its weight in gold with our daughters! Great stay, will stay again.

Morning cooking staff was wonderful- she was on top of everything. She even made your waffles and brought them to you. I got to see a dolphin behind the hotel playing. It’s a short walk to the beach. Although I didn’t use the pool it was really nice.

Our stay was great. We just stayed overnight last minute choice for cheap. All the employees were very nice and helpful. Only problem I had was with the elevator. So I took the stairs instead. If I ever go back I wouldn't mind staying there again.

I expect better from a hotel stay, particularly regarding basic cleanliness, maintenance, and courteous service. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes immediate improvements to ensure future guests don’t encounter the same .

This our fourth time to stay at the Surf and Sand and we had an amazing time like the last times! Staff was friendly and helpful! We were even able to check in early which was bonus! My husband and I used the free kayaks for an hour so much fun! We met wonderful families and made new friends! Location i awsome we did not move our car. We were able to walk everywhere. Highly recommend Surf and Sand!

There was mold in the potty under the rim. The bare floor was sandy and dirty. We bought a mop and cleaner to take care it. The neighbors in the next room were out of control. The teens (I’m guessing about their age.) would nightly bang loudly and rapidly on our adjoining door and then slam theirs shut. They also banged loudly and heavily on our outside door at night and run back to their room slamming their door. One night the male banged heavily on our door screaming, “ come out of the room now. FBI!” then ran and slammed the door of the next room. The sink stopped up one night. We didn’t want strangers in the room, so my husband bought a sink plunger to unstop it. He then had to go buy a tool to open up the drainage pipe and nasty nasty nasty watery black stuff poured over the floor. We used paper towels to get it up and then cleaned and mopped the floor three times afterwards. We will never stay here again. We travel often and I have never before left a complaint in my review, but this stay definitely called for one!

My experience at Surf amd Sand was one of the best experiences I've had in hotels, the staff was more than welcoming, and more than friendly, the rooms were extremely clean, the beach side area was just as clean and the pool was pretty nice, i will be coming back for ajy further stays.

This has been our go to for the last few years but it has declined. Property needs basic updates. Swimming area is nice. Staff is also nice.

It was great for the price. Definitely an older motel that has been renovated. Wish they had a hot tub for when the pool is cold. Parking lot gets pretty full, but that's normal for the strip. Beds were fairly comfy, but very squeaky. Shower could use some updates. I reserved a 2nd floor room with a bay view, but we were put on a first floor room with a view of the parking lot and a noisy bar next door. Housekeeping only comes if you request it before 8am

Have stayed here 1 or 2 times a year for the last 7 years. Great value for the price. Could use some attention to a few issues. Only 1 of the 2 elevators was operational. Door to the room was difficult to close (latch issues). Neither of these issues were significant but need to be addressed. Last but not least, the pillows are flat and hard as a rock. Take your own pillows with you. I will continue to stay there as it is overall a good place to stay and I don't care for the high rise hotels.

Breakfast was good and the staff was always helpful. The room was nice considering the age of the motel, however, the bedding needs to be upgraded, and the room air conditioner was very noisy. They have a special rate for dogs, so if you are not a dog lover, pass on this one.

My family and I came to Pensacola to celebrate a birthday, graduation, and mother's Day. We can from different states and cities. Originally I booked a Villa and Studio through Southern Vacation Rentals and it was a nightmare when at check in there was rodent poop in the bedrooms and broken locks. On check in day I checked out bc they would not relocate us to a habitable safe place and also didn't give a full refund which I will dispute later. I was left scrambling for a place my family and I ended up finding places to stay and now separately which, was not our plan. I found Surf and Sand and the rooms are nice and clean. Everything in working condition and door that locked. The staff is one of the best I've dealt with at any rental, resort, or hotel in a long time. From the front desk check in/check out to the breakfast room attendant they went above and beyond. There is a lot of things offered too like a nice fire pit hang out, sand box, pool, kayaks, bikes,beach towels and more. This hotel in also located in a great spot. The only thing is elevator maybe could use an update and building outside could use fresh paint but I am sure the paint issue probably due to be close to the ocean so really that is no big deal. It is a good property and the staff is a BIG part of that. Well ran. Thank you!!!

The location is lovely, I stayed there primarily because I was driving across country with my pet and the hotel has a little pet friendly beach. The staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel was very tired, peeling paint everywhere, inside and out. Brown tinged water from the faucets and paper thin walls. A budget price for a budget hotel.

Location The room felt old , and felt like a “rent by the hour” hotel. The beds were bad, desperately needs new mattress-could feel springs, the were squeaky, and NOT GOOD. Again felt like someone had been just jumping on them and wore them out. Did not feel good sleeping there but it was 11:00 pm when I arrived and didn’t have another place to go. Bananas were rotten at breakfast, threw them away and left. Could not check out fast enough

I loved the easy beach access and bay access. I also loved being able to rent the Kayaks and Bikes for free. Also, breakfast in the morning was amazing. Beds are a little springy/firm but still comfortable.

Breakfast starts way too late. Biscuits and gravy would have been nice. Rooms weren't real clean. You have to take dirty towels and wash rags down in order to get new and they will only give you a few of each.

The stay was amazing! With the stay they offer kayaks and paddle boarding and outside near the pool have a fire pit! They have breakfast that was great and the staff was definitely amazing and very nice. Elizabet made the stay even more memorable and amazing! She immediately made a good impression as soon as I walked in before I was checked in! She made sure everything was to our liking and she was really sweet and nice! I’ll definitely be coming back!

All the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean. I am guessing some of the rooms have really thin walls because I had to request to be moved on initial arrival due to a neighbor that was having a really good time and also had 2 dogs. But the staff accommodated with no issue and was super kind and understanding.

Negative: Room was not really clean. Brownish color dirt on the wall. Accidentally dropped something on the floor between the bed/headboard and it looked as if it has never been cleaned under the beds. The TV did not have access to Netflix so maintenance had to rewire the TV so we could have mre than just the regular stations. The last day there, the elevator stopped working so we had to haul everything down the stairs. The hotel defiantly needs upgrading, but not an awful place. Just needs to be cleaned better and better elevators.

We had 2 beds and one of the beds already had sand in it when I pulled it back. Also, the floor shower towel was dirty. They didn't bother to change it but yet it was folded like a new one.

I stayed with my girlfriend for a week and for the price it was great. The sheets of both beds had stains there is no room service and some of the front desk lady’s were constantly miserable.

So the reason Im leaving this review is because I want ppl to know that this place is VERY DECEIVING on Expedia's site! 1. This is a MOTEL NOT HOTEL as it stated on website! The moment we pulled in I should of known better for an expensive Monday night I expected differently! 2. Horrible smell 3. Mold 4. Uncleaned as a sticker from an article of clothing was on a piece of furniture that was clearly in site! 5. AC was LOUD such as an icemaker right on the window that was constantly running! 6. Busted doors in bathroom and the entry door had a gap for bugs, etc to spend the night! The fridge was rusted and sink was clogged so you couldn't run water! 7. The furniture is HORRIBLE! The chair had stains or some sort of “stuff” on it and the lamp and the mattress was bent in the middle like a taco! Even the lamp HAD MOLD! AC even had a brick with a piece of 2x4 holding it up! Seriously like really?! This was so unacceptable that I would seriously like a refund as I took pictures! All night I was awake waiting to go sleep in my car!!

Sand and surf was wonderful! The staff was amazing and so helpful! A beautiful view of the beach! We walked to the beach when we could!! Breakfast everyday was delicious. The rooms were clean. They have free rentals of bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks. Unfortunately, we did not get to use those due to be busy.

First, this is more of a motel than a hotel as the rooms open to the outside. It also advertises a "private beach" but it is a very small area with a few chairs that leads to the bay (not the ocean). The actual beach is a several minute walk across a busy street. While they provide bikes, and surf boards, there are very few other ammenities. However, we thought the rooms were clean and maintenence was responsive to an issue we had. We believe the facilities to be appropriately priced for the age and condition of the property.

This was our second stay here. We thoroughly enjoy everything about it and we haven't even taken advantage of the kayaks and other water sport offerings they provide. The breakfast is exactly what you would expect at a hotel/motel - Tasty and gut-filling. Their Community brand coffee is great. The pool, fire pit and "play area" is a great space and having access to the private beach was perfect. Sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the beach, watching the dolphin literally JUMPING out of the water as the sun was dropping, was a great experience. Staying here checked all of the boxes for us. The location is also perfect. There are several eating, drinking, and live music options just a short walk across the street, to the Boardwalk.

A simple Hotel with a great Pool fire pit area and And lagoon Beach. It was perfect but our needs. Low is just a bit of a maintenance issue with wobbly taps leaky bar and the floor area in the breezeway needed a good scrub. However, we would recommend this Hotel for a good economy stay

The rooms are large & clean & comfortable with a surf theme. Our bathroom door needed replacing as the bottom was cracked & coming away. Shaggy’s & Flounders are great to eat at if you like seafood & Bears Bowls does the best Açai bowls on the beachfront.

The staff were so friendly. I lost my keys and they went out of their way to track me down. The kayaks were so fun to use! It was the perfect location across from the beach and walking access to different shopping areas and restaurants.

The hotel rooms were great, the grounds were great, staff was nice, but the breakfast could have been better. Eggs and sausage were too greasy and not fresh.

But they definitely offer free use of kayaks and paddle boards and bicycles at no charge. We went after spring break so it was still a little early on their season so it wasn’t too crowded on their small beach, but they’re swimming pool was kept a little too cold for us to swim.

I chose surf and sand for the first trip I’ve ever put together myself and to say my expectations were exceeded would be an understatement! The vibe of the entire hotel is so cozy and the hang out/beach area behind the hotel is absolutely amazing!! I cried having to leave my home for the last week that’s how amazing it was and you do not break the bank to stay there especially with everything they provide for you! The kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles are FREE to use once you check in and meet with the front desk to sign whatever item you want to use out! 10/10 stars from the staff to the environment. You will not be disappointed staying here! We also walked to the beach everyday from our hotel and it was 10 min or less until we touched the sand each time! Sincerely a young 20 something who lives paycheck to paycheck. This is the place to stay in Pensacola without a doubt!

The Taj Mahal it is not. It is a dated building but a great location. The view is amazing and no hotel is closer to the beaches, bars and shopping. The free rentals are an amazing value if the weather is cooperating. The bed only actual complaint is the mattresses are some of the worse I’ve ever slept on. I wish the pool were heated. Breakfast lady is amazing!! All the staff we interacted with seemed genuinely grateful to have us there, not just putting on a happy face. This was our second year here for spring break, so whatever the minor downfalls are, its overall value is great. Although we didn’t bring our dogs, we found it to be pet friendly and lots of friendly pets were there. Bottom line, if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel within walking distance of the beaches and bars, this place is great!!

We were able to get one of the last rooms after leaving our original destination due to poor conditions. I'm glad we did. The staff here was amazing, the rooms were great. The property was clean and right on the the water. They had such a fun area for swimming, playing, or sitting by the fire. Highly recommend!!

Let me start by saying that I have stayed at this property at least 10 times over the last 20 years. This is the first time I have ever been unhappy about our stay here. We had 2 rooms and both of them were disgustingly dirty. There was sand in all 4 beds, black mold in both bathrooms and cockroaches in one of the rooms. The area by the pool was dirty and full of cigarette and cigar butts around the fire pit. Unless some serious changes are made, we will not return!

The layout of the property is really great. The rooms were nice and bright with all the appliances one needs whether for just one night or for several. The walk ability around the property is perfect—to get coffee or to the beach or both! The staff and guests were very dog friendly and I would love to stay more nights here in the future.

This is an amazing place to stay and choosing the right time, for being right on the beach. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a wonderful breakfast enjoy all of the amenities the hotel has at no cost. Go for a bike ride and enjoy the great views everywhere you go. Walk across the street and go take a walk on the beach looking out over the ocean and if you luck as we've had, dolphin swimming along the beach. Real great place to eat just a short walk across the street and enjoy some really good seafood or whatever your hungry for. Take a walk down the pier and enjoy the amazing views. Make your reservation and you won't regret staying at Surf and Sand!!

I was so disappointed with this hotel. I really dont believe the reviews giving this hotel a 4 star. It is outdated, the rooms are small, bathrooms are so tiny and had stains on the wall. The appliances were old in the room, and to top it off at check out time the elevator broke and we had to carry all our luggage downstairs. The only thing that is good about the hotel is the location . If they gave me a room for free I still wouldn't stay here again!!

Room was nice and clean and had a beach vibe to it. Front desk was not to friendly at check in or check out. Had to pull details out of her about breakfast hours and general info. On check out I asked for a receipt to show a zero balance and that I was charged the correct amount and that nothing had been added to the bill. The lady was not friendly at all and told me you booked with Expedia you can get it from them. I told her all the years I have never had to get it from Expedia. The hotel has always offered a receipt. I will never stay here again. I was booked for high floor and got the 2nd floor. Only one elevator working. And it was Slow. The location is great on the high note.

This hotel is a gem. The rooms are outdated, however, the location is unbeatable. It is right there at the beach and walking distance to Pensacola Beach wharf. It offers complementary breakfast, bikes, kayaks and boards. It has a pool and its own little beach. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I want to give special mention to Elizabeth. She has excellent customer services and makes sure everybody is comfortable and well taken care off.

Phenomenal facility location staff and breakfast! I could not be any happier with this stay and I see no need to stay in another hotel unless you want to be absolutely beachfront. In that case go Fairfield Marriott. However, this awesome retro motel checks every box and has great HVAC, fridge microwave and an actual Keurig in the room not the cheap paper pouch kind. Plus half the price of the big boys. Bring an ahDMI cable and laptop to TV to watch Netflix. They aren't smart TV. Small price to pay for the savings! Staff was AMAZING!!!!

Staff was great, room was great, but there was a lot of noise from neighbors. We were on the third floor in a corner room. You can hear barking, showers running etc. Elevator ran slow as only one was working and staff uses the same elevator.

The room was OK. It needed a little more thorough cleaning. The soap dispensers in the shower had black rings around, which were visible as you sqeeze for the soap to cone out. Also, there was a vent on the wall, which was above the coffee maker; it was ful of dust.

Location – 4.5/5 Staff friendliness – 4/5 Cleanliness – 5/5 Breakfast – 5/5 The hotel is located in front of the Pensacola Beach Ball Tower car park (on the opposite side of the road). You can walk to the beach, but it is a bit of a walk. At the back of the hotel, there is a small private beach facing the gulf, and you can ride kayaks for free. The staff was very friendly, especially the lady who arranged breakfast—she was great. However, the person who manages the kayaks was not in the same mood. He was very arrogant and acted as if he were doing charity work for free. He is the sole reason for not giving a 5/5 rating. The rooms were very clean. The pool was clean but not heated and not very big. The breakfast was great and sufficient, served from 7:30 to 9:30. Unlike some other places, they didn’t stop serving exactly at 9:30. They were flexible and made sure everyone was well fed before clearing the food. The lady who arranged everything was especially kind and took extra care of the guests.

Behind the hotel there is a sandy lot where boats are parked, and although the beach is across the street, the description makes it sound like the hotel is beachfront, which it is not. Safety was also a concern. We did not feel very safe at night due to excessive noise, loud trucks playing music, and increased foot traffic in the area. Additionally, parking costs an extra $10 per day plus taxes, which is important to note.

The staff were amazing and super nice throughout our stay. Breakfast was good it was your standard hotel breakfast. Rooms were not good from the dirty floor to the peeling ceiling and mold. It worked for this trip but I wouldn’t stay there again.

This place gets an 8.8 on Expedia. I don't understand how it gets this type of rating. It wasn't bad but doesn't deserve this type of rating. This is equal to a BW. 7 is realistic.

We stayed in the winter so we can't speak to the amenities. But we were very happy with our room, it was really nice and felt updated, especially the bathroom. Good breakfast options as well. We would love to come back in the summer again!

Room was great staff friendly. Only downfall eas a nus of high schoolers was there for 2 day and the poor lady that was cooking breakfast couldnt keep up so we had to go and get breakfast for 2 days.

Clean room and property. We Love staying at the Surf and Sand!! We come every year around the same time, and we always stay here! You can't beat the location!! It is right across the street from the beach/Pier, and only a few miles from the Dog beach! it's also convenient to restaurant's, shopping and convenient stores. You will not be disappointed! Not to mention the free Bike and Kayak rentals and free breakfast every day! The only thing I would suggest is bringing a broom with you. I know it sounds like an odd thing to bring, but the sand drove us crazy! We had a small dog and our 8-year-old daughter with us, so it was inevitable that we would be tracking sand back in our room with us accidentally.

The room was great and the staff was wonderful. I had a cold and stuck in the room for a while day, but Felicia at the front desk and the manager took such good care of my sister and made sure she got access to the bikes, paddle boards, n more. The maintenance staff keeps the pool spotless and takes care of the gear that comes with your stay!

The room was dirty. The microwave didn't work, and the bathroom was filthy. We requested daily cleaning service and never received it. We had to take our dirty towels to the front office and pick up clean towels every day!!! We will never go back to this hotel. Not worth the money.

The walls were so thin that conversations in neighboring rooms could be clearly heard in my room. I dried up some water that i had dripped on the floor and tje towel came up black. It was so bad tjat i didnt stay the entirety of my prepaid booking.

The room had a mini fridge that actually worked great & kept drinks super cold! Also has a microwave & mini k cup coffee machine with two coffees & two decafs with go cups, sugars, etc. Standard (but tastee) free continental breakfast (7:30-9:30) Cute surf decor & they offer free bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards for customers This hotel is an older hotel with an exterior entry design but they have refurbished this property very recently! All Pensacola Beach attractions are literally across the street, including the famous Pensacola pier. *for family members that can’t walk far or easily, we saw a gentleman on our property at one point that offered golf cart rides to attractions for tips. Ask management about this service though as he came inside & got coffee while we were there but I don’t know that he worked for the hotel specifically

Staf are great super friendly maintenance personnel were extra friendly, only complaint is the soap dispensers in the shower were dirty like they haven’t been cleaned in a while but it was a non issue being that we brought our own

The night lady, she called the cops on me for coming down to get a cup of coffee. I left. Didn't want to really leave this review but I am. This place is horrible.

The hotel is dated and the room was dirty. I responded to the front desk and advised them that the toilet wasn't properly working, one lamp shade was filthy the other did not have a globe and was a rusted base, the microwave was disgusting, the refrigerator was full of rust spots, my toilet and bathroom area was absolutely disgusting, my sheets were stained. They had maintenance come in and change as many issues as they could however there is no way that the room should have been offered in that shape. Unfortunately I paid for a bayview and they did not have another bayview room available. They stated they would have my toilet "snaked" however the toilet still did not work accordingly so I literally fixed it myself. This vacation was planned for my grand daughters and they felt uncomfortable when they had to to use the bathroom/shower because it was "icky". They did compensate for one night but there were too many issues to try to fix. A huge disappointment indeed! I should have been compensated for more than what I received. They offered to cancel my reservation without penalty however I did not want to risk my grand daughters and I not being able to get another room in a different hotel, surrounding hotels had no availability. We had been on the plane for hours.

We had a great stay here with our dog! The room was clean and the location is perfect to walk to restaurants and shops. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Pensacola Beach!

Clean room, friendly staff and breakfast was okay.

I’ll start by saying that the staff were wonderful!! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The room was clean, but there was some terrible moldy smell that triggered an allergic reaction causing my throat to instantly start hurting. The mattress was paper thin.

Customer service at the front desk and each employee I encountered around the hotel aside from the breakfast attendant. She could be friendlier and might take a cue from Ms. Elizabeth on being the face that greets your guests first thing in the morning. You guys do a great job as I’m a guest and it’s why I choose to stay with you and recommend you to friends asking where to stay.

Room was clean, but a bit smal, but did not spend alot of time in the room, was there for the beach. we were on the 4th/top floor, location was great, close access to beach and restaurants, and shops. But the elevator was a bit rickety, so took the stairs the whole time. Which wasnt an issue, also the breakfast wasnt terrible. But the access to the beach and the fishing pier, very short walk was worth it. Would definitely stay there again.

The breakfast and the free kayak and bicycle rentals were amazing! The location was prime and the staff was very nice and amenable. The breakfast was more than you could ask for with coffee and water all day long. If we ever had a problem or needed more towels, we were taken care of right away!

Room ok but floor was sticky. Soap dispenser at sink did not work. Dispensers in shower were filthy-we would not even use them. Bathroom door was water damaged and needs to be replaced or repaired. Not what we expected for the amount we paid for the room. Dissatisfied and disappointed. We left a day early.

Great location. For the weekday price no complaints. Nice outdoor area with fire pit to sit bay side. Short walk across street for gulf beach access.

Perfect location. It’s right across the street from Pensacola beach. The hotel has water access to The Sound (canal that leads into the Pensacola Bay). We really enjoy the free bikes, paddle boards and kayaks that the hotel offers.

Positives: nice staff, location and amenities like fire pit, little lake area. First floor easy for dogs to go out and potty so that was nice. Nice breakfast, coffee soso. Negatives: Needs updating, ice cold pool but it is November, we think the giant bug we had in bathroom was a cockroach, pest control was there spraying the day before, floor was sticky and dirty. No dedicated dog relief area with nice grass they kept getting burs in their paws. Would we stay again probably not but is good if you travel with dogs. They are very dog friendly which is hard to find.

Very cute adequate hotel. Nice staff, clean. Great location except for the VERY loud outside bar establishment on the east side of hotel..... Bring ear plugs in case you have a room on that side.... Noise goes on past one o'clock for sure.

Well worth the money. Only downfall was consistently stained linen. We requested our stained comforters and covers and they were replaced with more stained linen with bloody spots. O would have also liked to have been offered a mid-stay cleaning. We had to go down and request a broom to get all the sand out off the floor.
