Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Pekin - Peoria Area

My room had a smell and a lot of stains on the floor and furniture. The pool was ice cold but very clean. The breakfast was good and the staff was very nice. Stay away from room 121!

It was hard to get the water to the right temperature for a shower it was either to hot or to cold breakfast consisted of cereal and fruit

Checked in late the gentlemen at the desk was vert nice, first night went okay on the second night i got up around 5 am and found a dead mouse in the bed with me. I would not stay there again.

The pool was warm and clean, probably the warmest hotel experience I have had. The room was clean on appearance, but there was a bit of crumbs and debris on the floor behind the bed. The bed was okay, sheets were clean and bedding appeared clean except for the cigarette burn on the bedspread. On the upside, no bedbugs or other bugs were noticed. I checked, which is why I found the space between the head of the bed (below the headboard) and the bed needed cleaned. The bathroom was cleaned nicely. The entire hotel seems dated, but it looks like they are making updates and improvements. Staff was kind and easy to work with. Easy check-in. The only thing I didn’t like was they wanted a $100 deposit on a room that was already fully paid for at booking. I would probably stay again, but I don’t know that I would pay a higher rate than what I did to stay there.

After 11pm, dogs barking, people fighting and yelling. Felt like I was back to living in a substandard apartment. The men also rooming there were highly inappropriate, i did not sleep out of fear. While I understand anyone can pay for a room, i was scared from 11pm until they quieted around 4am, the people above me were awful. Also? The 2% Milk in the fridge was bad - another issues on top of no sleep I did not need before a 10 hour festival shift and 3hr drive home.

Granted, it was not an expensive room. But, based on the bogus reviews I read, I thought it was a good deal. The building was basic and very outdated which, for the price, was fine. The one unforgivable thing was how nasty the rooms were. Spills on the furniture and lighting fixtures that were not wiped up. There were dark liquid spills on nearly every wall that easily could have been wiped up with a damp cloth. There was some dark liquid spattered The entire length of the door. I had to wear flip-flops in the room, because the dirty carpet felt gross on my feet. Absolutely no housekeeping effort.

When we arrived, another guest was arguing with staff over conditions of their room. I had booked in advance and the hotel took the money out of my account before I arrived, not at arrival. Furthermore, we had one person less than when we booked, and they refused to adjust the price. Later, my sister found a bed bug crawling on her pillow. They offered no adjustment or refund, however they did allow us to switch rooms. My sister slept in a chair for fear of getting in bed. I don't blame her. We did receive our deposit in full the next morning but will never stay at this hotel again. Stay at your own risk. Or join the non stop party in room120 apparently.

Staff was very friendly. I am 50yrs old. I felt like I went back to my childhood. The stuff is so outdated. The curtain are getting holes. Bedspread from my youth. Chair in lobby for my childhood. This is in desperate need of redo. The beds smell of mildew so bad if you lay down you have shower or change your clothes to get the smell off you. Beds were hard not firm. Hard cracking when you moved not the frame the mattress. The room number on phone wasn't the room number I was in so if it was an emergency someone would have been directed to wrong room. And I have seizures.

If I could give zero stars I would. The hotel and grounds are not worth the money. I rather sleep in my car. Rooms are in need of a full renovation…carpet was terrible, nasty; bathroom smelled like urine, outlet didn’t work, bed sheets and bed were horrible, walls are filthy. Staff was great but I won’t be back. Ever.

Room booked for king suite, which I got, however when my children arrived they gave them a room with 1 bed, there were 4 people, since i had a suite, i offered to trade my kids rooms, they told us NO. We traded anyway. From that moment on, the staff on duty were very rude, resulting in them the next morning shutting my door key off. Manager, Peter. VERY rude on checkput. Would not drop my rate feom king suite tp the single queen room, stating myself and my family were lying abput what we booked through expedia and we even showed our expedia confirmation e-mails and receipts. We were just money to this hotel, My family and I will NEVER return

I realized for the price this was not going to be 5 stars but there were roaches in the room. I didn't realize it until the morning when I went to move my bag off the floor of the bathroom (which smelled like urine) and a roach ran out. Also, the $100 deposit is outrageous it is more than I paid for the room. The people who worked there are nice but really need to update and get it fumigated.

Continental breakfast was terrible! Frozen bagels, stale cereal, no juice, no hot water for tea. No one made bed or changed towels yet someone came in our room while we were out and stole 2 pair of Jeans, one pair of slacks and one pair of shorts. All of which were my husbands. We didn’t notice till we left the hotel and were in another state. We called them about missing items but their cameras only record for 24 hrs so no luck. If you stay there make sure you lock your suitcases or at the very least check your items everyday to make sure nothing is missing.

The fee was low but we needed a one-night stay in town prior to a move. I got the impression there were long-term residents. It was loud and there was an odd smell in the halls. The pool water was clean but the powdered chemicals made it feel like there was sand in the pool. The bed was hard yet soft, as if wood was being used to hold the mattress instead of a box spring.

It's a bit run down these days. Room refrigerator rattled all night and the TV remote needed batteries but had the TV on the second night. The staff was polite but not always handy. Didn't see anyone when I checked out at 7 AM

Not bad but not good. It is quite but no rooms cleaned daily or towels changed had to ask for towels.

It was centralized hub of the area. Poor service we arrived with blood on one of the top cover, 2nd night we woke to pouring water suite above left water running and it came through the light into our bathroom. Hotel gave us a new room but it was 12:30 at night they didn’t bother to help with the move and we had 2 little ones in pack n plays we needed to move plus our stuff. They didn’t offer us any compensation for the inconvenience. The indoor pool had sand in it. So wouldn’t refer this place to anyone.

Facility is visible old and worn…..sand in bottom of pool….paint peeling in bathroom. Carpet in room was very dirty.

Room had a bad odor, so asked to check another room which snelled the same. So don’t know what the odor was from. Is in need of an upgrade. No comfy feelings at all, overall just not good.

Was in room 125 was very very musty and stale smelling. All my clothes smelled like the room when I left.

GREAT service! They do the basics right.

First night was a disaster!!! There were a large group of Hispanics on the 2 nd floor cooking in their room. The smoke set off the fire alarms disrupting my sleep. 3 hours later I was awakened by a guest tearing up his room, which I was told by management that the guest was " hallucinating". Police had to be called to remove him. Got very little sleep after traveling all day. Plumbing was also an issue as the bathroom sink leaked & the toilet ran intermittently.

It was just okay, which is exactly what I expected. Carpet and bed spread had stains. Towels had stains and a funny smell. Like maybe they weren’t washed—just folded and put back on the shelf. Shower nozzle was clogged. Tissue box was rusted. It seemed clean otherwise.

Hotel was nice. Pool was open and good. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. But the lady did try to get it working for us. Even offered a different room. Breakfast was good.

Reasonably priced

This is an older hotel, but in decent condition. The staff is very friendly. The rooms have a lot of space, and it's a great value. The location is very convenient to the main road, with Menards' and Walmart less than 1/4 mile away, and several restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast is limited to cereal and morning breads (bearclaws, bagels, and waffles). It's not the Waldorf-Astoria, but if you need a bed and shower, this is an excellent choice.

This is an older no frills hotel. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is older but well maintained.

Second time I have stayed here. Last time was a few years ago. Older motel. Could use some general maintenance but over all clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good for continental, Cereal, juice, waffles and such. Bed was firm but not hard. Met our needs. Hall is a little dark.

This is a very nice family run business. They go abovd and beyond for their customers. The hotel is close to shopping centers and restaurants. We always use this hotel when in town visiting family - at least 2 or 3 times a year. Also they are a very pet friendly hotel.

Bed was terrible and I dont think they even wiped down the surfaces. just dirty all around dirty place. the girl at the counter was very friendly and kind but the room was super disappointing

Exterior needed some work. Weeds needed pulled around the building/slash parking lot. Cleaned up exterior would definitely make a difference in my book. Hotel room was average for an older hotel, area was quiet. Room smelled a bit but I'm not sure exactly what it smelled like. Breakfast was minimal but I'm sure that has to do with COVID. Good location, many eateries and stores located nearby.

We stay here after all of our local Ultramarathon races because of their service and ease of check in. They are consistently accommodating, the room is clean and well air conditioned.

The beds were super squeaky and made weird noises every time you laid down. It had a weird smell to it and the bathrooms weren’t clean and the shower head was broken and almost cut my hand on it.

We have stayed at this Econo Lodge multiple times, and they remember us and always make us feel welcome. Will continue to stay here whenever we are in the area.

The hotel was very dirty and unkept. The staff wasn’t very friendly. Our bed linens were stained and the carpet was visibly dirty. My sister and her family found bed bugs in their bed and were moved to a new room in the middle of the night that was equally dirty. The pool was very run down and dirty as well. Breakfast was packaged danish and coffee, no other options. When checking out they were comped half.

This hotel is disgusting. From the time you walk in the door you are greeted by an overwhelming smell of old stale cigarettes. It is overall so outdated and dirty I would have left if there was another room close by. My room had stuff splattered all over the walls in the bathroom (along with a booger by the mirror), stains everywhere and the room stunk like a mixture of patchouli and weed mixed with dust. I have allergies and almost went to sleep in my car it got so bad over night. There was never anyone at the desk either. You couldn't pay me to stay here again.

I was disappointed with the room. I chose Econo Lodge after viewing their online photos and their overview of the property. Their queen size beds are very small, more like a large full. I had to pay to upgrade to a king. The bed itself was very hard, it was very uncomfortable for me. The indoor pool was sparkling clean blue and bathtub warm water, very nice. Staff was very friendly.

This property is tucked away behind a couple newer ones in the area. It is older but the rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is quiet and doesn't attract a rough crowd like some older hotels do. The staff is so friendly. We have stayed at this hotel on and off when visiting family for the past few years now and won't stay anywhere else

The bed was really firm, everything felt a little dirty. Huge spider in our bath tub.

The motel is about ready for refurbishment; small holes in bed spreads, wall in bathroom had been repaired (poorly), sink plug performed poorly (had maintenance work on it), door didn't swing shut completely without extra shove, etc.

Room was nice and comfy. Front desk person was very friendly. Super easy to check in.

We stay here for softball tournaments, we have for years!! Never had any issues, always really close to where we play, affordable hotel, simple & quick breakfast! Clean rooms, friendly staff. This past stay there was issues with another guest, not wanting our girls in the pool, she was impossible to deal with. I appreciate the manager coming back in and trying to fix the issue, and telling us our girls could get back in the pool. The night desk clerk on duty was not capable of dealing with anything (3-9-19), she wouldn't even look up for the desk. Any time something was needed she acted like she had no idea what you were asking for, simple requests like towels, key card and sheets ( i gave dirty sheets to housekeeping earlier that day, and told them i would make the bed myself later since my 1 year old was in the room sleeping & they were fine with that.)
