Reviews
The hotel has a beautiful property with clean and comfortable rooms, offering a variety of room and villa options. However, there were issues with hot water, room cleanliness, and responsiveness to customer complaints. Some guests were not given the rooms they reserved and had to be moved multiple times.

ok first of all, the photo you see is not where you will be staying. That is the area of private timeshares with the fancy pool with a lazy river. There are 4 different areas this resort owns, most on golf courses, and many units apparently owned and then managed by Litchfield beach and golf resort. The first room we got wasn't at all what we expected..like a motel 6 room for over 200$/nit; dark, dingy, 2 twin beds and no kitchen. Luckily we got moved to a room they had that was available and more expensive.. but at least had a kitchen like we were told we would have and a screened in porch. But it hadn't been used in a while i think as the remote to the living room tv didn't control the volume, therefore not useable. The ceiling fan in master bedroom didn't work and wasn't fixed when we reported it. The indoor outdoor carpet on front stairs and also on screened in porch was old and dirty. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom; but the 2nd bedroom no one could stay in because all it had were blinds and the light from the entry way lit up the room and was so bright you couldn't possibly sleep there. That being said the master bed was comfortable, the tv worked, good clean towels and clean kitchen. For $250 /nite i was shocked and even more upset when nothing we reported was addressed. Wont stay there again

3 BR Villa Oyster Catcher was well located for pool and the restaurant. Unit really needs modernizing. Coffee maker was broken and linens for the pullout never materialized despite requesting and getting a response that they were “right on it” on day 1 of a 5 night stay. Toaster was also not functional. Small TVs. Spacious. We made the best of it with a group of 8 golfers but I’m not sure I’d be able to get them to return to the property again if we came back to the region to play.

The golf course areas and property itself is beautiful. Room was 5 miles from the listed location on booking.com. Be sure to read that they can put you at any of the properties they own. We didn’t have access to any of the amenities pictured because the property we were assigned didn’t have access to the lazy river or gym. Shower curtain was stained yellow and right by the toilet. Hair from previous person in the shower.
- 2/5
The.pool needs updating and our key did not work to.open the gate. Had to wait for someone to let us in. Also not easily accessible from where we were. Stairs to the bldg are at the very end and elevator is slow. Beds were average. Bathroom was small and shower curtain had mold on it. Overall would not go back. Parking was good

We had a great experience
- 4/5
The pool and pond area are nice - loved watching the turtles and even watched a heron catch a couple of fish! The employee working the beach shuttle and the pool was very helpful and friendly. Only negative was the fact that toilet paper is not supplied in the room once you run out. Thought that was strange!

Check in too way beyond too much time; this was a way beyond extremely slow process....almost a 45 minute wait before and then at least 15 minute process! Like the accessibility of Starbucks and having a balcony. Loved the view from the balcony and how quiet it was. PLEASE switch from the beyond cheap 1-ply toilet paper to a 2-ply. Room clean, quaint, and cute. Love the lemon scent of the bath lotions, soaps, etc. Love the coffee maker. Why isn't there a phone in the room so one can call the office if needed? Was NOT happy when booking to see that the rate nearly doubled with taxes/service fees!!!! Need to be more transparent! read above

Beautifully decorated, ocean view . Location was great !

I walked in to a dirty room with food and trash on counters, used towels on the floor , beds undone. I went to front desk they gave me a different room. The next morning at check out I wanted to report it to a supervisor because I figured they would want to know. The front desk asked me why I was asking to speak to a supervisor, I explained. After several minutes staff comes back to the front and stated “my manager says there is nothing she can do about it, but call back tomorrow morning, Sherri another manger might be able to, but she’s out today.” I simply wanted to report the incident but that was very dismissive. Definitely not the experience I expected out of such a fine place. I am willing to try again and leave another review on my second stay because like I mentioned , it’s a beautiful place !
- 3/5
Location is always fabulous but my check-in experience was awful. I paid for a specific room via Expedia but the resort claimed no such room was available. After checking the Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort website and finding several rooms, including the one I had reserved and paid for, they assigned me an awful room as if they were doing me a favor.
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was amazing. All the staff were great. Love the location and ocean view from the 3rd floor. Everything was great!! Ran out of pool bracelets but gave us something else so we could access the pool area. Door on the closet was broken. Louver door, top cap was missing so it wouldn’t stay on track. They said they will fix it. Had not been reported before we did.

This trip was specific for getting some rest. It did not disappoint. Love how laid back the area is. The only thing that could be better would be to have had my two little dogs with us.
- 2/5
It was close to Myrtle Beach and a commencement ceremony I was attending. It was sold as a easy to get to the beach location, but was not easy at all. They said they had a shuttle that would take you to the beach, but we never found it.

We have been coming to Litchfield Beach and Gold Resort for 30 years. This was our best stay yet in terms of accommodations. Our condo unit was updated and beautiful! We did not encounter any problems on our stay and we can’t wait to come back!
- 0.5/5
Nothing My room door was stuck, decor & furniture were outdated, the TV in the room was the smallest i have ever seen.
- 0.5/5
Not much It was not as advertised. No glasses for water, no tissues, sand on the cheap laminate, only 1 cheap kitchen table chair, AC was either full blast or off. We left a full day early of the 2 nights booked. A room at the local Fairfield Inn would have been better.
- 5/5
The unit we stayed in was clean, beautiful. Litchfield will always be my favorite beach vacation in SC.
- 4/5
I like the location and I like the kids area in the property is nice I think the pool area could have been up kept better I realized you have insects but I cleaned the hot tub out and the pool for the children because of the ants and the debris also we've been there several times and the playground has been closed for construction and the bar is never open at the pool which would be a really nice convenience if there's a certain time it's open I would love to know also our Villa was nice but it was worn and there were a few roaches not palmetto bugs we also had to have them come out and do something to our internet it was not working but they came pretty quick also the pictures need to be updated there were some inaccuracies overall I would go back
- 5/5
It was a nice resort and close to the beach.

Always love this place, id always rather be ocean view but all the pools and lakes and the amenities of the beach access makes it worth it, especially for the price. Best place to stay on the best beach town

The lock in our room didn’t work, at 1am the fire alarm started chirping. They moved us to a new room, the shower curtain was moldy, the air conditioner was loud and there were no towels in the room. Management would not compensate us for our room.

We don’t even have access to swimming pool. Hotel does not provide any access card. Also WiFi is not working. The description on your website is very misleading.
- 3/5
The property was great. The beds were so uncomfortable and my husband had to fix the garbage disposal. The bathroom shower was not clean on the outside. Other than that it was good. We have stayed at several other condos and never experienced this before.

Loved our stay, would come back again.

Terrible Unorganized
- 3/5
So when booking you need to be aware that all of these facilities are owned by individual people and only certain buildings have a pool or beach access. Choosing a regular hotel type room puts you by a golf course with no pool and the beach five miles away. You have to choose a one or more bedroom property to have beach right out front and a pool. There are no restaurants or bars during the off season but they do offer a breakfast for $14 per person. You really need to do your research before booking this place. It’s ok but definitely not a Mexico style resort
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our stay. Did not realize renting a bike needed 24 hr notice. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

We enjoy being right on the ocean and the property is beautifully landscaped. Our room was comfortable and has all one needs to cook in if there weren't so many great restaurants. Wish they did have bike rentals on site as it's a great place to bike. There is a bike rental not far away. Would definitely recommend staying here although it is a bit pricey.

The staff were kind and engaging. The cleanliness of the room could’ve been a little more maintained. The air filter was not changed, so we had some issues with the air-conditioning. And there was mold growing around the vents in the condo. The pool was nice and the sauna was very nice as well as well as the exercise equipment in the gym area.
- 1/5
I asked to change my room, and I was told it was Expedia’s responsibility. However, I spent over an hour on the phone with Expedia, and they said they could not reach anyone from your property to approve the room change. I reserved two rooms for my family, and my daughter came all the way from California. This turned into a nightmare experience for all of us. this experience was extremely disappointing.

Rooms need updating. Old feeling but very clean. Amazing location pool very clean and the access to beach is priceless.
- 3/5
Expedia makes it look like you are getting a certain room. Nope. My "ocean front" room was "ocean sliver view". Front desk friendly, but unknowledgable. I asked where the grills were located. They told me there were none. Turns out, they were right by my building. Didn't give me the gate code to the pools & beach when I checked in. Codes changed during the stay. They did not text or email the guests. I called the desk to get the new code - waited on hold for 12 minutes before giving up.
- 5/5
We had a great experience at the property. The staff works hard to keep it clean. The pool is great. The beach is pretty private for being public. We stayed in Bridgewater and the room was awesome. Overall great experience and will definitely go back.
- 5/5
Front desk staff could have been more accommodating. We were at the end of a small line and when our turn came all staff went in back and we had to wait.
- 4/5
Great place for families. Not much communication about breakfast vouchers, pool codes and a few other things. We had no idea how to even turn the tv on. But overall great experience

The location was perfect! The property was quiet and there wasn’t any trouble. There should have been one king sized bed in the room with the view of the ocean and a living area in the first room you walk into. That way people can wake up to the ocean view!

First room was not fully clean. Found hair in shower, trash under furniture. Room was supposed to have a sofa bed, but only had a regular couch so we had to accomodate. Got moved to another room which was worse. Everything was dirty, including walls and celing. Everything was old, but at least it had a sofa bed. We went to the indoor pool also. Temperature was good, but the pool itself was not clean. There were chunks of hair in the water, not from anyone in the pool since there were only 2 boys in it when we got there. Hot tub was also dirty.

When we arrived at 4:00 pm and were told our room was not ready. Finally at 5:00 pm we were called and told our room was ready. Upon parking in the parking garage to unload I noted the building fire alarm was in trouble mode due to a supervisory issue in stairwell #3 as indicated on the annunciator panel in the parking garage. The annunciator panel was beeping and had a flashing yellow light which caught my attention. We were checked into room B214 and there is a mechanical room that shares a common wall with the front bedroom in that unit. The fire alarm panel in that mechanical room was beeping loud enough that sleeping would have been difficult at best in that front bedroom. I asked the front desk to be moved and was told no rooms were available. The front desk attendant stated that fire alarm beeping had been a problem for over a week and that they had a previous complaint from someone checked into that same room. I called hotels.com as they were who we made our reservation through and they contacted the resort to get us moved and were told no rooms were available. I texted Missy at 843-222-4521 and made her aware of the issue and she replied back to contact the front desk. I replied that I already ready had done so. Finally that night at around 10:00 pm we were moved to B503. There seems to be a lack of general maintenance in the building since we stayed there two years ago. The locks on the balcony sliding doors in both rooms we were checked into to did not lock and had

Property is very peaceful. Indoor and outdoor pools. Walking trails. Wildlife. Beautiful.
- 4/5
The property, amenities and staff were excellent. And this review overall would have been 5 stars, except for what I see on bill. There is a property fee added to the amount charged. Why is this not part of the room charge? Honestly, it feels like a bait and switch. Show this great price on Hotels.com and then charge this fee to make up for the advertised price. Just advertise the rooms at the correct price.
- 5/5
The condo exceeded our expectations. All of the areas were clean at our building. The staff provided outstanding customer service.

There are a lot of rooms here, but owned by different parties... so it sort of depends on who's you get. Ours was fine... and few better and a few worse from those I saw.

The grounds were very well kept and room was very clean. Great view of the ocean.

The room, pool and beach were nice, but we had a hard time getting some things that we needed like trash bags and toilet paper. Also the place we originally reserved was not available when we arrived, so they transferred us to another room. We reserved a room with a king bed, but ended up with a room with two queen sized beds.
- 1/5
I've stayed in really cheap hotels to save money, especially when I was young and broke. While not fancy, they were usually decent and basically clean. Not the case here. Dirtiest, most run down rooms Ive ever seen, tried two different units. Never saw cleaning staff, just found a couple of towels dumped on the bed the 3rd day. We had to buy flip flops to wear in the room because of how dirty and sticky the floors were. A shame too, because the public spaces are great and the beach divine. Tried breakfast there one day, which was fine but not worth $22pp. Went to Litchfield Restaurant after that. Room doors have a super strong hinge, so be careful - cut the top of my foot trying to juggle it, bags and the key when we first arrived. Would not repeat - stay at the Hampton Inn across the street instead. You wont walk to thr beach from your room, but at least you wont feel like you need a shower... right after taking a shower because of how dirty your room is.
- 5/5
Visiting family in the area. This was close and offered many amenities.
- 3/5
The check-in staff was courteous and it was a smooth process however, once we got to the room, the toilet in the room was completely broken would not flush at all. Had to call the front desk multiple times in which the phone rang and rang .They sent maintenance: he had me check after he addressed it and the toilet still wasn’t flushing. He stated the flapper was broken. Why not replace it? As of this morning we’re still in our room without a functioning toilet this is not what I expected also, the refrigerator has a very large amount of ice buildup and a lot of rust. Otherwise a quiet stay but I think this is unacceptable and I will not be returning.

After travelling hours to arrive at the resort, we were met with several voice mails on our cell phone from a woman from the resort saying she had important info to tell us before arriving. As we missed her call, we called the resort back and they told us the call is most likely about a meeting in the morning (timeshare). Did not know we were going to a place that would offer this. At check in, the front desk girl gave us zero eye contact and wrote our room number on the key card envelope that looked like 418. We unloaded the car with all the luggage and waited for a rickety elevator to take us to the 4th floor. The wind was picking up as a storm was heading to the area. We tried the key repeatedly and it did not work. I called the resort number on the website who said let me connect you to the front desk. We stood outdoors in the cold wind for 4 minutes on hold and was disconnected! We found a number for the front desk and the same girl said we have to come back to the front (which is a car ride away)! Our luggage was sitting exposed on the ground of the 4th floor. We went back and all she said to us was..."Room 418?" and handed us another key, and walked away behind a wall divider. We drove back to the room and the key worked. We opened the door to someone already checked into our room and on the bed in the dark! We had to call the front desk again, and this time a young boy answered and said to come back to fix the problem. Our room was to be 413-it gets worse thereafter

We went to the desk and had them reassign us a new unit in Heron Marsh unit #91 and it was great. The unit was clean and it smelled good. The unit was well stocked with kitchen items. We had a great time!
- 3/5
The room was beyond tired. The shower drain plug was on the ledge the floor was not clean. This room needs a complete redo. Big nicks in the walls around the table. TVs and furniture pretty bad

Stayed in Bridgewater. The view was beautiful and the outdoor pool and hot tub were pleasant. Unfortunately the indoor hot tub was lukewarm.

The property was super clean. We got a pool, lazy river, and a Jacuzzi and a great view of the ocean.

Our villa slept 8. We had 3 coffee cups. The tv in the living room was a 24” tv. No extra trash bags. No extra toilet paper. Silverware for 4 people. One of the showers leaked. One shower had terrible water pressure. Very dusty. One bedroom had a tv box, but no tv.
- 5/5
Great for business or pleasure.
- 1/5
Not very clean outdated and lots of mold beds are not as described in the listing
- 3/5
Loved the beautiful property hated that I had no idea that I was not staying at the main resort that I was in fact 15 mins from the main resort wish is also where the pools and beach are located the beach front and pools were the reason I booked the property
- 3/5
This property was nice. Keep in mind this is a 400 acre resort, depending on which property you stay at within the resort you could be a 15/20 minute walk to the beach. My reservation was for resort view, by the picture expedia shares, thought we were within walking distance to the beach. We had to rent a golf cart for convenience to get to the beach
- 2/5
There was no phone in the room. There was no hair dryer. There was no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. There were no tissues. There was only one lamp so the room was quite dimly lit. The cable box was perched precariously atop the television instead of sitting on something secure. The paint job in the bathroom was sloppy; no trim work around the shower curtain rod so you could clearly see the old paint color.
- 5/5
Great place to vacation!!!
- 3/5
Bathroom cavities poor. Did not want to shower/mold? Would have loved to eat at restaurant on site but was closed???
- 4/5
2 TV's 5 remotes, no instructions. Pool on property no combination in the room for the keypad to access pool. Fitness room, what a joke.
- 5/5
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Very clean and the beds were great. We really enjoyed the pool. We will definitely be coming back.
- 4/5
We loved the property location was fantastic. The cleanous of the room was very poor. The front desk was very professional, but the people taking care of the property were always on the phone for hours and I don’t think they were doing their job to the best of their ability.
- 5/5
Stayed in the Sandpiper condos beachfront and it was fabulous! Super convenient location and beach/pool access. Definitely will be back.
- 3/5
We stayed in the True Blue Villas, please be advised that these are about 10 minutes away from the actual hotel and we also had about a 5 minute drive to a private beach. We didn’t have to pay for parking which was a plus but if you wanted to do anything at the actual resort staying there, you will have to drive. The villa was nice and clean. We did have to wait about 3 hours to get into our villa as well but were compensated
- 5/5
The condo was clean and the perfect distance to the ocean, with a pool and hot tub to enjoy before and after a day at the beach! We’ll be back next year- the trip from Idaho is worth the distance!
- 2/5
When we first arrived, the master bedroom bed was not made. The comforter and sheets were in a pile on a chair in the room. Also, it looked like someone had used the toilet, and had not flushed it and had dribbled urine onto the floor. There were mouse droppings in the silverware drawer. It also looked like mouse droppings on one of the sheets. There was no starter kit, so we had to go to the store immediately to pick up toilet paper and paper towels. We didn’t run the dishwasher when we left because there was no dishwasher detergent or pods. There was no dish sponge or dish towels. We had a party of 5 but only had 4 towels. The sliding glass door handle was broken so you had to go through the master bedroom if you wanted to go out to the balcony.
- 5/5
It was fine but I believe it is a little too pricey.
- 3/5
Very inconvenient check in and really hard to find property. Our unit was so far away we had to drive back across the highway. This is not a resort, it's more an Airbnb
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Highly recommend the suite. It was perfect for our family of 5. Will stay again!
- 2/5
The property had 4 tv which only 2 were working. The showers head were the worst the head ran outward no on u. Nathtubs had no plug for childrens baths . And respectively i was very disappointed my reservation at main property was not abaiable after weeks of secured payment we had to stay across the street and drive.
- 3/5
When we checked in, we didn't realize that the Fairway Villas is located about 2 miles away - on the other side of Hwy 17. If you book through the resort, it does have more details on this, but it's not mentioned on the Orbitz site. Our place was older/dated and we ended up picking up more toiletries like hand and bar soap and conditioner (only shampoo available), since the supplies were very limited. It would have not been as much of an issue to have a dated place to stay if it was close by the beach where we thought we had booked. We did end up driving and parking at the main resort each day, which appears to be a nice location to stay. The best part of this resort (for us staying off site) was the staff around the pool area and golf cart ride to the beach. Very friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
Had a blast
- 3/5
The front desk crew were AMAZING!! the 3 bdrm house was lacking...no inter n et, with 4 young children it was terrible...a VCR??? dishwasher was broken, no dish liquid, no garbage bags. The owner needs to update their rental before asking $300 a night.

i'll be back, this is better than many other places, beach was great, more food places to try out than 1 can possibly get to
- 4/5
Condo was large with lovely view. Pros: had full kitchen with washer/dryer in the condo. Great screened in porch with view of alligators and turtles. Nearby beach access had free parking, was clean but rather crowded, with fluffy white sand. Cons: no spatula, pot scrubbier, pizza pan, or pot holders. Had to use the one dish towel they gave you. Overall, it was very nice once you bought things needed to use the kitchen.
- 3/5
We had 4 families together, our children and grandchildren and ourselves. Most rokms were nice and updated, ours was not. The carpet left your feet black. We all paid the same price but the other 3 rokns were nucer than ours. The restaurant and The Deck were not open. Restaurant only for breakfast. We chose Litchfield for the convenience of the restaurant because there was 13 of us. No where at reservation or before we came were we told this was closed. It isnt on the website either. The pool only had 6 rafts for the lazy river and the buckets werent working. The kiddie pool area was disgusting.
- 4/5
The three bedroom condo itself was great. Plenty of room, great location. However, the management company clearly doesn’t put a lot of stock in this property. There was a dead cockroach in the living room first of all. Secondly, the master bedroom instead of a King size or even a queen size bed had TWO full size beds pushed together. And none of the beds were even remotely comfortable. It was about a 10 minute drive from check in to True Blue and before I even got there the management company called and tried to lure me to a morning “event” with “free” gifts. And when I told the lady on the phone I haven’t even made it to my room yet and I had a long drive, she persisted that I pick a time. And when I when I wouldn’t commit to a time she just put me down for a time. Needless to say I did not go. Overall, True Blue is a great place, but I don’t think the ownership group cares about the property, just their own resort by the sea.

Room was dirty gross and not updated at all best thing was the view! Starbucks and tiki bar all the way at check in area. Not as shown very poor

When you book do not be fooled by the pictures. The accommodations are not what you see in the photos and it is not walkable to the beach. Only those who rent condos, homes or rooms directly on the beach have access by car. The room was small, not very clean and the walls are paper thin. The seaside inn is a motel not a hotel of any caliber. For 1000 stay I was more than disappointed and would never stay there again.

Room was nice. Location is great. Access to beach is nice. However, resort is a little dated. Also, the fitness room is a joke. I think it was the size of my old office so that only a couple people could even hope to work out at the same time. If you're not worried about working out, the place is nice overall.

Don’t believe
- 3/5
Condo decent, but was 4.5 miles from the check-in, which we were not told prior to getting there. Also, beware, we did not have access to the beautiful pool listed on the website.

The pictures and description on Orbitz's web sight very deceiving
- 5/5
We enjoyed the condo. It was clean and a short walk to the beach.

Fantastic resort

We originally booked two room suite at the homestead part of the resort. When we checked in we were placed in a two room villa on the golf course. It was spacious and comfortable. Very quiet and restful. We had a wonderful stay. Our only disappointment was that we were not within easy walking distance of the beach. That was the reason why we booked the reset suite. We were informed at check out that 3rd party businesses had overbooked the type of room that we wanted. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. All said we had a great time
- 3/5
The property was ok just wish they place me with the rest of my group we where in different locations
- 2/5
For the amount of money i spent, i was very disappointed.
- 1/5
Staying at this resort is misleading. It's hard to find anything, nothing is labeled. Finding the pool is difficult. They advertise a shuttle to take you to beach! It's all lies. WIFI doesn't work! It took 4 different passwords and I still couldn't make calls. I had to go outside. Just not a fun experience we will not be back!
- 3/5
They state that someone will come by each day to bring fresh towels, etc. we were there 4 days until someone came and took the trash and gave us fresh towels. The oven also didn’t work and called the front desk to inform them, since it ruined our dinner but the seemed unconcerned. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay just wished they tried to make it right to my self and my family especially with the cost that we paid.

Litchfield is a great resort. You do not have to worry about late-night noise and the constant sound of slamming doors. Two beaches are within walking distance of any of the buildings. Each building has its own amenities. I have Litchifiled 4 stars only because, depending on the building you stay in, the rooms are nice. None of the rooms are run down, but some buildings as much more up-to-date and have more room. We will continue to come to Litchfield, but will be looking to change locations.
- 4/5
It was a big, beautiful place. Friendly, helpful staff. The only thing i didn't like was we had a room for 6 and only got 4 towels, we had room service the first day, but no other days (stayed 4 nights) and the kitchen light is glitchy, but works
- 3/5
Overall, not bad. Beach and pool were great. Room was good. We had to make do with blankets from the car the first night because our pull out didn’t have bedding. Front desk found sheets but couldn’t get everything without house keeping, which was closed. Also, check in instructions said they’d send room # and code but you actually have to check in at the front desk, which isn’t at the address on Expedia.
- 1/5
Booked through hotels.com and they immediately called and canceled the reservation saying they were full and that I had to contact hotels.com to get my money back. Terrible experience with both companies and definitely would not recommend
- 3/5
We had to just about beg for information. First we were told we were not allowed access to the main pool and lazy river and it wasn’t until I complained to hotels.com that they rectified that. The tiny pool at our building was closed by the state for half the days. They sure hide that it’s 4.5 miles to the main pool and that you’re not allowed to use their beach access. For families with small children this matters.

Some pool are better then other. The bed was broke dislike
- 2/5
Original door key issued to us did not open our door but did open the door to an adjacent unit. The loud, foul language used by the pool employees was not good. I don’t usually pay much attention to this, but it was over the top. Not a sentence without the F word. The room was adequate but not a good value based on the price we paid. While it didn’t meet my expectations overall, the beaches were nice and relaxing.
- 2/5
Room was dirty, several things in room broke when we arrived
- 1/5
The property was poorly maintained and the description of the unit was false. There were no amenities in the room. The TV appeared to be from the 90’s, it was too small to watch. This is the 3rd time that we booked with Litchfield and will certainly be our last. They do not maintain their properties, especially at Sunset. Everything was dingy and rusty. Our first stay was at Pawley’s Plantation and our room had bugs in it. Litchfield’s response was that this is South Carolina and rooms will get bugs. Just an example of what you deal with when you have a problem. We will never use Litchfield again!

Upon arrival, we were given a map of the propWe were placed in a house that was completely different than we booked. We were traveling with 5 teenagers and we did not want them to share beds, but they had to because the house had 2 less beds than we booked. The house was in disrepair. There was black mold growing from the air vents. Plaster was falling from the ceiling. The upstairs never got below 77°. The stove top was cracked all the way across. The cream/brown colored carpet was black in areas. The drawers and cabinets are stuffed full of personal belongings of the homeowners. The master bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. The sliding doors didn't lock and the sticks they used to prevent them from opening were about 10 inches too short. The lack if cleanliness is another review altogether. It was literally DISGUSTING. We spent 4 days of our 5 day vacation at the guest services desk. 0/10 don't recommend.

Never even found the property. Hotels.com advertised the property as oceanfront. Far from it! There was no beach to be found!
- 5/5
Very nice location, room could use a few minor updates but overall very happy with our stay!
- 5/5
TVs need updating TV and bedroom tv extremely small 13 inch outdated and didn’t work mattresses need replacing big dip in the middle apartment was beautiful Kitchen was very nice dishes utensils pans very good. access to the beach was wonderful.

We arrived to a dirty unit missing batteries from remotes and smoke detectors. One of the rooms had no window covering where previous renters ore down the blinds with no curtains. Forks and plates were missing and there were several sinks that would not drain and the shower slide broke off into the tub where the wheel had been broken off the track. While the front desk is kind they were unable to resolve any of our issues including pool access. We were unable to access the pool our entire 6 day stay and while we would be told they were working on solutions and yet I never received a single return call and had to drive up to the desk daily with no resolve. I paid $400 a day for the worst experience I have ever had. Torn furniture, single beds pushed together to make a twin and the worst motel mattresses and linens you can imagine. This property management has gone totally down hill. I was even told there would be compensation for the poor experience yet I have received no calls and nothing was noted at check out.

Love that it has a pool and close to the ocean! Very convenient

Fraud/ It was nothing like the picture, they put us in a Airbnb, from a apartment complex , horrible .
- 1/5
Overall not a good experience. Hot tubs were broken and dirty. Kids play area was not operating. Room not clean, ice machine did not work. There was a discrepancy in the type of room we were given. They offered a room upgrade for 180.00, then 180.00 peyrnight after I agreed the increased. We were invited to a presentation that was not to be high pressure, and only last 1 hour. After more than 90 minutes I told them for the 3rd time I was not interested. I would not stay at this location again.

Excellent

It was such a pretty place with many amenities. Very enjoyable.
- 4/5
Loved PI. Room was ok but we booked late and that was all that remained. Biggest disappointment was the pools. Nothing at all about the pool area looked inviting. No trees, no umbrellas, nothing that made it feel like enjoying a swim or relaxing in the pool. And both hot tubs were full of 2-early teens. And at night it was even worse. The pool is lit up like a maximum prison yard from dusk til dawn. It just made you feel exposed to 100 rooms looking down at you.

Room terrible, had large Palmetto bugs, bed uncomfortable and creaked. Rude and unhelpful staff. Had planned to purchase property at PawleysIsland because of my experience with this trip,I do not want anything to do with Pawleys Island. Everything about this room, resort, etc was misrepresented. Very disappointed

Gym could be better! Hot tub not working

Litchfield Resort

After checking in we found out that my room was 7 miles down the road and not on the main campus. I was never told ahead of time that my room would be so far away. As a matter of fact, I was led to believe it would be on the main campus where we registered. Once we got to our room, it was neat, but it was dirty. I decided and I no longer wanted to stay at Litchfield Beach and golf resort and I wanted a refund. I contacted Expedia and they were happy to agree to refund my money. I just got an email stating that Litchfield is not going to refund my money. I want my $900 refunded ASAP!
- 4/5
Last unit we stayed at was perfect Not sure why 4 adults got all twins
- 2/5
Pool was closed for repairs. Beach access was closed, too. Was told to use other pool and beach access at property next to our campus.
- 2/5
We booked this property because it was a beach and golf club and we wanted to be on the beach. All of the photos showed a very nice pool and accommodations on the beach. We were in a golf community 4 miles from the beach with a view of a parking lot and the golf course. The pool was very small and next to a dumpster in the parking lot. While the “villa“ was nice, it did not have amenities like soap, Kleenex, or other toiletries. In one of the bathrooms, there was half a roll of toilet paper. We were charged a facilities fee close to $300 and requested that be refunded at checkout because there were no facilities for us to utilize and I was disgusted at the location. We were in town visiting family and wanted to walk/run on the beach in the morning and were unable to do that.

Beachfront, quiet, nice location
- 1/5
The facility did not have out reservations from Expedia even though I booked and paid in full several days before. It took my group approximately 30 minutes to check in and after finally accomplishing that, my group was placed in a room that was being painted. There was plastic over all the windows and no screen on the porch with all outdoor furniture covered. Stay was awful!!
- 5/5
Excellent area, great amenities! Starbucks on site! Super clean and housekeeping was excellent!
- 5/5
It has very modern rooms but others are too old.
- 2/5
The pools and jacuzzis were broke. Nobody communicates information to you. Very out dated.
- 3/5
When booking this reservation we chose a unit that specifically met our requirements for accessible accommodations The first day of our stay a strange couple walked into our unit with key informing us that they had just purchased the unit and asking how soon we were leaving. The office called soon after that startling encounter informing us we would have to move right away. We spent several hours moving to another unit and obtaining necessary bedding towels for our stay. Not a very secure pleasant experience!
- 3/5
We were not able to sit on balcony and enjoy sight and sounds of ocean. Called Mgt several Times and they did not respond until morning as we were leaving.
- 1/5
The remote control for the living room TV did not work, the handle for the shower door didn't work and eventually fell off in the middle of the night. The housekeepers took our clean towels and only left us with 2-bathroom floor towels. I went to the service desk to request more, and they said they didn't have any more to give and they would bring some by later. Well, someone did bring towels by, he opened our door without knocking to give us the towels. The sliding glass door guide was hanging out and the man who came to look at it did not bring any tools. We are very disappointed in our stay.
- 3/5
Lazy river pump wasn’t working nor was tue hot tub heaters. Spring break you’d think these would be in order
- 5/5
Great property! Clean and well maintained. The cheap toilet paper was offensively frugal given the costs but beyond that, we would give it a 5. The staff doesn’t really do a good job telling you about the property of amenities. They are a bit focused on getting you to attend a presentation. Overall, it would be nice to learn more about the property and the area around it.
- 3/5
We booked our reservation online through Expedia. When we got to the resort, we were told that we were staying 20 minutes south at Pawleys Plantation, which we did not know. There was no information online about the booking being at a separate location. We missed our wedding ceremony due to this. We also had issues with our WiFi and called the resort, but never heard back. There is barely any cell phone service at Pawleys. They are also renovating the pool area at the resort, so it’s a bit loud. The property was beautiful and I really wished we could have stayed at the resort that we booked it with. I recommend booking through their website so you know exactly where you are staying and are not surprised when you get there.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! Very up to date and fresh-- lovely room with all the comforts. There were some major snafus at check-in-- sent us to a room being remodeled! But the manager was very sweet and did her best to make things right. Wifi in the room didn't work nor did resets to the modem and router. The instructions said to call Spectrum-- they wanted to speak to the owners. We had to drop it and walk about 200 yds to the hotel proper to get service (for work). Nevertheless, the place was lovely and we'd stay again.
- 4/5
Property beautiful, very nice apartment. The towels were terrible, scratchy and small. Need to upgrade. Also sheets were rough. The ocean view and sunrises were worth the visit though.
- 5/5
We stayed in Summerhouse and were very pleased with how stocked and roomy it was for a family of 5. The beach was easily accessible and indoor pool/sauna was great!
- 1/5
The resort property overall seems well cared for due to many of the homes being privately owned and the beach is beautiful.

My friends and I booked rooms together and we're all going to share cars and go out to dinner but this isn't a typical resort or hotel. This is a management company that manages timeshares it appears. The three of us were in completely different buildings as many as 6 mi apart. It was super inconvenient. Check in through Expedia did not work and I spent an hour on the phone trying to get it all sorted out. When I went to leave they turned off my key early and it required me to spend another half an hour chasing a staff member to get another key so that I could get the rest of my belongings out of the room. The room inside was nicely furnished. The building on the outside is clearly very old and not well maintained. The restaurant and all of the food was closed and under construction. They offered breakfast at a whole nother location which was unreasonable. They also asked me to pay about $70 more than I'd agreed to pay for a three-night stay when I booked your Expedia. Very disappointed
- 4/5
Love the property, quiet. Wish they had more locations to the pools. There's not much to do near Litchfield you'll have to adventure out. If you book here book from the hotel. Do not book through Expedia. Expedia will give you false information.
- 5/5
From front desk, beautiful property & view, to clean room - and awesome view, this property has it all.
- 4/5
The view and location are great - the unit itself could use some updating. This particular unit was pretty beat up. Also the light outside the exterior door shines directly through the blinds making sleep difficult.
- 5/5
My only recommendations would be: 1. Although the building was easy to find with the map you provided, the layout of the units was very confusing and could use more explanation - perhaps secondary maps of each building to inform guests of where their actual rooms are located within their building would be beneficial. 2. As a resort, beach chairs, towels and umbrellas should be provided or available for rent during the stay.
- 4/5
The room was a basic room with basic amenities. The toilet was a little dirty so we had to buy disinfectant wipes to clean it a little. We had to buy more toilet paper too because we didn’t have enough. But besides those little things Pawleys Plantation was beautiful to stay in. A very nice golf course neighborhood. We would stay here again.
