Reviews
The hotel generally provides a comfortable stay with clean rooms and friendly staff. It is well-located, offering easy access to dining options and local attractions. However, some guests have noted issues with the property being dated and in need of updates, as well as occasional cleanliness concerns.

Location had many theaters and food/drink options.

This hotel is in a good location in Pasadena, but our room was very small and not too comfortable. The pool was great, it wasn't crowded at all. The lobby was very beautiful, you can play games while sipping your drink or work on your computer all day.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, but was the room was ok. It was clean but my problems were the ac. While the device said 62 it felt like it was still 74. It seemed like the room wasn’t getting cold at all which made it hard to sleep.

If you dont feel comfortable with the one you share a room, make sure to ask for a room with private bathroom. Lobby bar had weird hours and seems overpriced. Other then that, it was cute, clean and perfect location
- 5/5
Friendly staff! Very welcoming and accommodating .
- 4/5
Liked the lobby lounge/bar area, but would highly recommend some background music like Frank Sinatra.
- 5/5
Room was clean, but when the maid service came, they did not replace the use soap or shampoo. That’s about the only non-perfect thing.
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay - on 7th floor overlooking the pool. Pool and lounge area were delightful. Lobby inviting snd warm. Staff friendly and professional. Location is perfect for walking to drinks, dinner and the playhouse. Very convenient to other attractions as well. Would definitely stay again.

The pool seemed to be pretty busy with families and kids. Not a giant or deep pool but nice. Overall the hotel is nice. Prices for cocktails are parking are high, but that's the case everywhere now days.

N/A They double charged me for everything on my stay with them. They advised I need to leave me credit card details for deposit (which is normal) and double charged me for my stay. They advised they unfortunately did not see I paid with booking.com so they charged the card again. They doubled charged the stay, food and parking. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked to speak to a manager but all managers were unfortunately in a meeting.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Desk staff were great at check-in. Lobby is impressive with some amazing prints from events in old Pasadena. The only minor annoyance was an overly perfumed smell in the room.

Stately old hotel in the heart of Pasadena. Could use some updating. Room temperature was difficult to control. Very limited storage space. Rooms are small. Some bathroom fixtures needed repair. But generally a pleasant hotel for short (2-4 days) stay.
- 5/5
Second time staying here
- 3/5
Rooms are clean Self parking is inconvenient
- 4/5
The room was great the parking was confusing so I called and you would think since it’s under ground they would tell you on the phone which direction to go park for the hotel but I ended up having to call again to figure out where to go. So if you stay there go down not up.
- 4/5
I did not find the bed comfortable. It was too soft no support. Everything else was great
- 5/5
The hotel rooms are very mod in design with a glass enclosed shower adjacent to the glass enclosed toilet. Both with etched glass. It feels very mid century but more avant garde. Fun and cool. Great bed too
- 4/5
Beautiful pool, rooms are a lot smaller than pictured on Expedia, right space to even pull luggage through but other than that it was clean and the pool was enjoyable with lots of cafes and sushi within walking distance.

Amazing, but no restaurant on site. Coffee shops across the street.
- 3.5/5
Convenient location The room felt like it wasn’t cleaned well in general. The sink was terrible and would spill water no matter how careful you were washing your hands. No one explain the privacy light so no one would come clean the room despite multiple requests.

I recently stayed at here and was thoroughly impressed with my visit. The aesthetic and vintage decor of the hotel created a charming atmosphere that was both inviting and unique. One of the highlights of my stay was the king-size bed; it was incredibly comfortable, making it hard to get up in the morning! The combination of style and comfort truly enhanced my experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a blend of vintage charm and cozy relaxation. However, I was disappointed that the front desk didn’t inform us about the parking fee upon check-in. This lack of communication was a bit frustrating and detracted from an otherwise lovely stay

Very disappointed in the cost versus value received. The air was very stagnant with some floors smelling moldy. The staff was courteous but appeared “fake nice” as if not really happy to be working there.

Beautiful historic building, pool, lobby and rooms. Housekeeping was optional. We opted, but did not receive. Absolutely no food services - for any price. We asked and they referred us to local places that were not open in time for us to eat and make our events and flight. Not even a vending machine. Entrance is on the street with nothing but 4 concrete steps to lug your luggage up.

The pool area is really nice but it would be great if there was drink service up there rather than having to do down to the lobby. The room was spacious but outdated. Parking was simple. Great restaurants close by within walking distance. Room was outdated and the elevators were slow. Wished pool area had beverages and food service.

the meal I had was only satisfactory the rooms could use new carpeting. It is very old and not appealing the beds are perfectly comfortable

We have stayed at this hotel several times now, and it never disappoints. The location is absolutely amazing, and having convenient parking right around the corner makes arriving stress-free. One of the absolute highlights of our visits is the welcome staff. Anthony has checked us in almost every time we’ve stayed. He is incredibly friendly, professional, and always goes above and beyond—frequently securing us a wonderful corner room and letting us know about the best promotional rates available. Thank you, Anthony, for your outstanding hospitality and kindness! The lobby and bar area have a fantastic, inviting energy. There are plenty of chess and checker tables that invite you to sit and play, and even a piano available for guests. The bartender is wonderful and kind; they once crafted an impromptu drink for us that was absolutely delicious! We’ve also tried the food and found it very tasty. As for the accommodations, the rooms are exceptionally comfortable. The beds are a dream and genuinely smell fresh and clean. We will definitely continue to come back every time we look for a local staycation in Pasadena! We have liked everything thus far!

Room was a little small and details were coming undone (decal on shower glass was peeling). Toiletries were unusable when we did receive them, but the hotel was nice, with great lobby, garden area and pool. We thought the pros outweighed the cons. Very walkable location with cafes and restaurants, theaters and shops close by. Had to request maid service and they were persistent, knocking on door beginning at 9:30 AM. However everyone was kind and attentive. Six night stay; would stay again.

The room was excellent. The shower was my favorite part, the design of the bathroom and room made it feel so spacious and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay, and made the check in/out process so smooth. The pool and gym are on the third floor, so the views of Pasadena and the nearby mountains were so pretty! Truly a beautiful place to visit. The restaurant/bar service at the pool was excellent, and if you like coffee, you’ll love the breakfast/coffee shop adjacent to the lobby. From parking, to cleanliness, to friendly staff this hotel checks every box! And it’s in a perfect location to walk around and see Pasadena!

This is a special and historic hotel in the heart of Pasadena. It’s undergone a well appointed transformation and the pool area is very nice. Clean, efficiently thought out and comfortable room with a generous sized bathroom.

Room was very comfortable. Pool itself very nice and beautiful. Nice and quiet. Yummy breakfast options (for additional cost). Great location. Spent most of our time coming and going, so having the use of the garage was great. It was very easy to come and go! Pool area could be cleaned more frequently. I ordered food poolside and it took almost an hour for it to come. So perhaps better staffing (i.e. more people). The staff that was there were working hard/professional. Parking garage a little spooky but that can't be helped.

Position. hotel is not too big. Lovely staff attitude. Clean room & bathrooms. Ideal pool area. Good easy parking. Windows dont open in bedroom a bit frustrating and creates stuffy atmosphere with no fresh air. Rooms not cleaned unless you request daily which is a bit strange. No defined dining area is awkward.

The hotel is a great choice for Pasadena if you’re looking for reasonable price with good amenities. The pool was wonderful and the view from there spectacular. The little gym was adequate. The rooms are fine, but a bit Miami blingy and don’t match the Spanish decor of the building, so that felt disconnected. Staff were super helpful and I appreciated the excellent lattes that were half the price of nearby coffee shops. This was my second stay as my daughter lives nearby. I will return! I’d prefer some coffee options in the room, as I get up early.

Nice for an old hotel
- 3/5
Room - had toilet in the bedroom which is just wrong. As a normal couple, I do have an issue with this. Basically the room was a bedsit on a positive, bed comfortable. Balcony - room had balcony but no furniture. So basically a smoking area. Staff said no available chairs - unsurprisingly we found some fairly quickly so balcony was actually of use. Staffing - mixed experience. Check in unfriendly but check out efficient and hospitable. Overall, no warmth and many looked liked they were unhappy working at hotel. Room service - basic and no refill of coffee, shower gel, cups etc……In fact anything. Resorted to buying shower gel and coffee from Target. Overall - bad experience and way overpriced. Would recommend AC Marriott or Westin. Dissapointed as wanted to support independent chains but this reinforced why I am reluctant.
- 4/5
Downside - they need SERIOUS SOUND BAFFLING. You can hear every person walking/talking in the hallway outside the room like they're IN your room. Also, the towels - not great. They need to throw out old towels - thin, thready and poor. Strangely, we had one newer bath towel and one old one and the difference was HUGE! Lastly, would be nice if the bar stayed open past 9:30p. That's very early. Overall, though, a very nice place to stay and the location is super!

Pool is lovely. I wish someone on staff would have spoken with parent of a small child, as the child was in the pool all by herself other than adult hotel guests like me. She may have been between 5 to 7 years old. She told me that her dad said if she was drowning, that I or one of the other guests would save her, and she couldn't swim well, so she wasn't supposed to be in the deep end (as she was swimming in the deep end). Hotel staff were around and did nothing that I saw to speak with the parent and I couldn't find him either. There should be a protocol in place for unaccompanied children in the pool area. This was so unsafe.

If someone is having a bad day, staying here may just lift your spirits. A Kind polite staff, great amenities, all around perfect!! Location to get out and walk, shop, exercise and more... Love ❤️ Pasadena, simply a great community... The icing on a Cinnamon Roll about 3 blks down Lol... Tho the texture of the pastry was spot!! Housekeeping is horrible. They missed shampoo almost every day. Not valuable for such an expensive hotel. The hair dryer is very old and smells quite bad.

Such wonderful vintage hotel, the hotel staff was lovely and so attentive and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again. My room was beautiful!
- 5/5
Great location, clean rooms, will stay here again!
- 5/5
Very walkable location and only a 10 minute drive from Huntington Garden. We walked to every meal, and a movie theater, Pasadena Playhouse, and Ice House comedy club were a short walk away. I highly recommend. The staff could not have been nicer.
- 4/5
This hotel doesn't put lotion in the room, but has it on hand. You need to ask housekeeping for it. Took 30 minutes to get a asada bowel, which is basically beans and rice and meat. They also charge $50 for early check in, when the room is ready. Not a fan of this practice.
- 4/5
My welcome / check in was just ok. I was not greeted with a friendly staff member - no eye contact from start to finish, a bit terse and seemed to be in a bad mood. Not ideal customer service upon arriving at a place I have never stayed. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe he just doesn’t like his job?

Beautiful hotel, great for those traveling for work or doing school/work remotely. Plenty of space in the lobby, gorgeous back patio, and poolside to relax or work. Really peaceful and quiet and most people are mindful of maintaining this. Comfortable clean rooms, cafe that sells burritos and drinks downstairs until afternoon, and within walking distance to a nearby Target and restaurants, with a Trader Joe’s a bit farther. 5 min drive from the beautiful Huntington botanical garden. Staff were very friendly. My partner and I loved it here. Such a great deal. We will be back!

Had a pool view room set up for the stay, we were put on the third floor where it was the pool that had a view to our room. We asked for a room clean for one of the days but they were unable to due to being short staffed. The housekeeper in the hallway was very nice and helped me get new towels though. They wont automatically clean your room, you will have to call the front desk to schedule a clean. The walls are very thin, sleep was not the best since the next door neighbors liked to shower at 3am, also our room was infront of the elevators which was high traffic and high noise. The property is really nice and clean and new.

The staff were polite and professional. The room was large and clean. The toilet stall is see-through and does not give a person the privacy they may desire.
- 3/5
Cool building has more character than the generic chains nearby. Room was very good. Pool is a nice feature but not large. Two things that were not so good; dogs in the lobby and being locked in by the parking system. I was charged for parking when checking in but when scanning my barcode to leave the gate did not open. It took three attempts with staff to get out. Bizarre.

Daily fee for "facility" was weird. No in room coffee!

Didn’t have breakfast at hotel. Could have had a little more lighting in bed/living area. Staff was pleasant. I had requested early in advance over a week that it was my daughter’s bday and if we could have a room on the highest floor with a view. We were put on the 2nd floor..☹️

The first room we had was smelled like smoke and the towels weren't fresh smelling. We moved to another room the second day, it was better. Pool lounges and umbrellas are old and dirty, stained. First night loud party at 1am next to room, conceirge not helpful. Staff is not well traded, and fairly rude.
- 5/5
Need better coffee in morning. Maybe a good machine like nesspreseo. But waiting for coffee in morning and quality did not match other amenities
- 4.5/5
Good location, comfortable room, friendly staff. I also appreciated the pool, the lobby, and the lobby bar. The gym needed sanitizer for wiping down the equipment!
- 5/5
I stayed for two nights. When I first checked in, my room was next to a service closet and the elevator. I have a tough time sleeping and thought that was something I could handle for one night, but probably not two. After thinking about it, I went down to the front desk and asked about switching to another room for the next night. Marielle was super kind and understanding, and moved me right then rather than splitting the stay between two rooms. My new room was the best, and I slept better there than I have in a long time! The hotel itself is beautiful. A mix of historic charm with modern amenities. The bartender makes a killer drink, and the pool deck and courtyard are so relaxing. The hotel attracts a good mix of people and they all seemed to enjoy the spaces of the hotel. Lots of folks in the lobby, hanging out, playing games, reading, and whatnot. The best part of this hotel is the entire staff. Derrick and Marielle at the front desk are top notch. They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable! I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a very nice area for walking around Nice coffee shop very near hotel. Room was clean and efficient. Bed comfortable Quiet. Nicely Renovated Grand Hotel (previously the Constance Hotel Pasadena; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasadena_Hotel_%26_Pool All the chrome plumbing fixtures looked really nice, but they were not that user friendly; e.g., bathroom sink water on/off; shower on/off; tub pop-up stopper was quite fussy to get it closed properly

Hotel was pretty nice inside has underground parking that you have to pay for every night. There is also a “ facility fee “ you pay at checkout which was insane to me aside from your room fee, parking fee and deposit they keep. Staff was nice and friendly.
- 5/5
Convenient location. Nice small hotel. Can feel busy if there’s a party renting the event spaces. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is a breeze.
- 3/5
It was difficult to find amenities, pool location, how to order food, etc. Front desk staff were extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. This is an easy thing to improve! Accessing coffee in the morning was difficult. This hotel could be so much better. Positives were the quietness on the pool side, clean beds, location, pool.

Pasadena Hotel & Pool exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel is historic & the lobby is lovely. The bar & furnishings are very tasteful. The staff is wonderful. A big shout out to Derrick (at check in/check out) and Lou-Lou (head of house keeping). We reserved a suite & it was perfect for our needs. We were visiting our grown children that live in Korea town & Highland park & it served as a good meeting place for us to enjoy each others company in the evenings. Parking was easy for them when they came to meet us. There are many great restaurants & shopping within walking distance of the hotel. The internet speed was great. The pool & pool area was wonderful. We will definitely stay there again

This is my second time staying at the Pasadena Hotel and Pool. I love the rooms and property using the pool both times. Ooh La La Cafe is a great start to a morning across the street. It’s located less than 1.5 miles from all the bars, restaurants, and shops. Would and will be staying here again.

Took off a star because their choice of glass door on toilet and shower makes for a very uncomfortable experience if you’re traveling with someone. Frosting the entire glass would help. But nobody wants to be seen while going to the bathroom. Also parking is needlessly expensive considering the area has plenty of parking nearby.
- 4/5
Great lobby , staff and room . Only downside was location for walking to restaurants and shops
- 3/5
We have stayed here many times but unfortunately can no longer recommend. The location is great and parking is ok but given the cost we find that the shower, cooling system in room and the lack of coffee maker make this an uncomfortable stay.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location with great staff. Lobby area beautiful with lots of seating areas. Views from pool amazing. However, rooms seriously lacking in conveniences and amenities. No dresser or shelves and a minuscule closet meant our suitcases were on floor or desk. This made it hard to walk around beds, and made room look so cluttered and messy. Which also meant no surface to place anything except nightstands. No coffee machine. NO USB PORTS anywhere! So be sure to bring plug adapters. No shelf in shower except one tiny ledge that only had room to hold the very tiny soap/ shampoo/ conditioner bottles. Cute mosaic tile in shower floor was uneven and cut my daughter’s foot, and corner edge of glass shower door cut my heel. Also walls were so thin so our rowdy neighbors kept us up - we could hear everything they were saying. Also there were a ridiculous amount of mirrors in the room. Everything was very clean though!
- 4/5
Food was over priced and hamburgers were all over cooked so very dry. Total waste of money. They gave me $25 food vouchers so felt like I had to use it. Should have gotten breakfast instead with it.

Stayed 2 nights and they charged my card 1300 dollars. Very bad experience
- 4/5
Trip was great. I plan to stay there again soon. I just didn’t expect the parking to be $32 a night, but that’s still cheaper than other hotels I’ve stayed at. I think this parking cost should be mentioned somewhere on the page before booking. I found out at check-in.
- 3/5
While the lobby was chic and cozy, the rooms felt like old and outdated Las Vegas hotel room. With green/yellow/blue carpet, a bathtub that was basically in the bedroom and a hard bright yellow couch. Our carpet was stained, the phone did not work and the yellow couch was not comfortable. The gym was bare bones for work out equipment. The pool was the best part of the hotel. I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Clean room and comfy bed
- 5/5
The everything was great, the room was clean, staff was nice.
- 5/5
Really loved this hotel. Two small things could improve. No coffee option was offered in the room or readily available in lobby. Only served at bar til 9:30 AM. So had to go out of hotel to get first cup. There ARE los of good coffee options in town within walking distance. Loved the room and view of pool area; pool setting was beautiful! Lobby comfortable and well-designed. We had an electric car and hookups were provided in the parking garage. But unfortunately they were inoperable. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Great staff. Room is small but comfortable.

The hotel is very cute, I love the lobby. I don’t think the style of the hotel transfers very well to the rooms, they feel like a different hotel. The room was extremely clean & comfortable but I noted a few things - there is no in room coffee and the bathrooms are a stall with a large opening so 0 privacy if you’re traveling with someone you don’t feel close enough with to hear / smell your bathroom trips. There’s a cute bar but no actual restaurant in the hotel. I will say there are many excellent restaurants in walking distance. The pool is also nice and there are beautiful views, but the chair areas weren’t cleaned up very often so lots of old drinks/cups from prior groups sat all day in your space.

Great stay!
- 4/5
Nothing special hotel.
- 5/5
great place
- 4/5
It’s an older hotel, and the room smelled like stale smoke. I had a noisy person next door, so I didn’t have a great stay.
- 4/5
Nice location, pool area needs more attention, water in the pool with too much chlorine. Early check in is $25.
- 2/5
The lobby and courtyard are beautiful but the rooms (at least the one I stayed in) are dated, ugly and the carpet is very sticky. It's sad they no longer have live piano like they once did which was part of the charm. I will not stay here again and I do not recommend it for anyone who wants a comfortable room. We couldn't walk barefoot because the carpet was so sticky/filmy.
- 4/5
The hotel was located in a great spot. Close to everything. The views were pretty and the rooms were really nice. My only complaint was that there was only one working elevtor the ehole time we were there which made wait times long, elevators packe and going up and down kind of a pain in the butt. Especially when you're on the 5th floor with luggage. If someone is in the elevator with a luggage cart, not anyone else can fit and you have to wait for the ONE elevator to come back. oTher than that, our stay was wonderful and the property was great.
- 4/5
Needed to be staffed better. They sell resort passes so the pool was crowded and only one server taking orders. He was doing his best but there was too many people to help with only one server.
- 5/5
Clean room - Good location - Rooftop Pool
- 3/5
Very nice rooms and pool but lobby and breakfast unimpressive.
- 3/5
I love the location and the amenities the hotel has to offer. Staff was nice and friendly and allowed me to check in early after a long travel day and waived the fee. My last three visits have all been the same, my room is right by the elevator and or faced the street causing me to be woken up at all hours of the night by guests and pedestrians outside of the room making it unpleasant and disruptive at times. I know that the rooms arent great for those who book through a third party and it shows. I just wish there were better rooms available when booking through a 3rd party.
- 5/5
all great
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! Everything looked like the pictures. The hotel was everything i expected and more! The lobby and the rooms were very clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful with my late check in. I wish I could have stayed more days, but I will be back for sure.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly. The only issue I found was with the pool, which is advertised in their name. The area is small, and gets shaded in the afternoon. Also, it felt like a section of the area was occupied by influencers and not hotel guests. I actually did not enjoy the pool area at all and ended up leaving after about 15 minutes.
- 4/5
The hotel is historic and in a great location. Ron was nice. Staff was friendly. The pool area was cool and gave off an old Hollywood vibe.

Room cleaning could be improved, we had requested room cleaning and no fresh towels had been delivered.
- 5/5
always a great stay here
- 5/5
Always have a good experience every time I stay here. Staff was wonderful, and it’s close to a lot of food options.
- 5/5
Room was perfect and exceeded my expectations
- 5/5
The area is close to a lot of food, drink, and bar options.
- 4/5
Only thing is you have to request room service a day before or else they don’t come. Not too bad just have to plan around it. Also, parking was a lil pricey especially having to take 2 elevators, walk through the lobby and out to the parking garage. If you have a lot of luggage it can be a hassle.
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 4/5
Was a great hotel across all areas just hidden fees told to you last moment
- 1/5
The parking situation is a a really big turn off and If I would have known prior I would not have stayed here. You can’t go directly from the garage elevator to the lobby, you have to take an outside concrete hallway which is not ideal at night or as a woman alone. You also have to pay $35 a day per night per guest (not per room) which quickly adds up as I paid over $140 just to park our cars. I paid for an upgraded room with a view of the pool which wasn’t honored as we were put in a smaller corner room and I still haven’t received my receipt from checkout. One of the garage elevators and one of the hotel elevators was not working and only 4 guests can fit on an elevator at a time as they are very small. This was not what I expected and I recommend staying at the Hilton around the corner.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 4/5
Staff is friendly. The only con is carpet is dirty. My son white sock turns out black after walking on it.

The rooms were great, good night sleep
- 3/5
Everything was great beautiful hotel. Only thing I didn’t like we had to pay extra $35 for parking which at first it said there was no parking fee
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Would suggest a more efficient bar service and how about complimentary coffee in the lobby. Rooms are small but quiet and clean!
- 5/5
Loved this location and hotel. I was born and raised in the area and it's a beautiful addition to the city. I just wish I was there longer to take it in.
- 4/5
Everything was good but rooms hallways too tight
- 5/5
Excellent staff and location. One of a kind property.
- 1/5
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told they don’t have one. On top of all this, the fire alarm went off and the fire department had to come—apparently there was a rat in the lobby! Everyone had to evacuate. The bathrooms were filthy, and the overall experience was absolutely horrendous. I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel.

- 5/5
great room, pool area nice, good location.
- 5/5
They saved my entire trip. Clean rooms. Quiet. Really nice pool and staff. The woman bartender was amazing and very professional amidst rude guests rushing for their orders while she was the only one working with a super full bar. Parking was a dream and decent price per night for the ease and location just below the hotel and safe. Will be making this my main stay for work trips. Thank you Pasadena hotel! Until next time!
- 5/5
The lobby is lovely and welcoming with an outdoor space

It’s a beautiful old building, with narrow elevators oversized carts, loading in and getting around is nothing less than clunky. :-(
- 5/5
Beautiful aesthetic. Views out the window to the mountains outstanding.
- 4/5
Good size room. Accommodating staff. Has an old to modern feel. Close to lots of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Super clean room that was very well played out to ensure spaciousness. Lobby was beautiful and staff very welcoming and helpful.
- 1/5
No hot water for shower
- 5/5
Rooms smell good. Great location
- 5/5
Staff was really nice, rooms were very clean. The bartender was amazing!
- 3/5
The room was clean. But not what the photos looked like online at all. Kind of surprising. Staff was nice but difficult to find.
- 4/5
Staff at the bar couldn't be bothered to take orders in the morning. Stopped at the bar 2x to get coffee. first time had to leave after waiting 15 min, 2nd time 1 hour later after waiting 5 min had to walk over to staff who has leaning diagonally against the wall chatting with other staff to order coffee. All the other staff were fantastic.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great public spaces, including an outdoor courtyard. One of our favorites in Pasadena, especially for the price
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff. Would stay here again on my next trip
- 5/5
Perfect location and lovely room;very comfortable. Staff was knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
- 4/5
The room was clean, the bed was comfy and location was convenient. I wish I had time to enjoy the pool but it was a short stay for me.
- 5/5
This was my 3rd stay at this hotel but my first time in the Executive room and it was great. Spacious. Beautiful free standing spa tub. Very comfy. My only complaint is street noise but that’s obviously out of the hotel’s control
- 5/5
Room was spacious, clean and looked new. Lobby was nice too!
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff was nice.
- 4/5
Nice property - the ground floor patio with fountain and the pool area are especially nice.
- 5/5
Good!
- 5/5
The pool was refreshing. We appreciated the opportunity to play ping pong and foosball. Our only concern is that guests were not allowed to play the baby grand piano in the hotel bar. In fact, nobody played it! It was just there for looks! Decorative! I think that if a hotel has a piano in lobby somebody should play it, guests included!
- 1/5
Very overpriced for a very outdated hotel. My carpet was absolutely filthy. I had outdoor lighting that I could not block out with the blinds no matter what I did. The bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable beds. I’ve slept in in a long time. Lack of staff in the lobby when I left this morning. And really did not like the set up of the bathroom being that the toilet was basically open to the room was just a piece of glass that did not go to the ceiling very uncomfortable. If you had a roommate sharing a room with you. And having a 4 ounce bottle of water in the room available for a $200 a night room seems a bit excessive I would not recommend staying here.
- 3/5
We arrived about an hour after the beginning of check-in time and had to wait for our room to become available. We decided to have a drink in the bar while waiting. Bartender was very nice but my mother’s martini was watery and the only selection of Chardonnay was Daou which wasn’t even on the menu but fine. The room we were given was an accessibility room (not what I booked) which was clean but small. The main issue is that the bathroom vanity was too tiny for two women’s things or to share. There is also no coffeemaker in room (but they did bring a kettle when asked) and no sugar/creamer tea or coffee to make. For breakfast they have muffins and a couple of other pastries and coffee to purchase at the bar. For someone who is Gluten intolerant it wasn’t an option. Overall, for the price, and given they have limited food options, I’d expect the ability to at least make a hot drink in the room. They also don’t have checkout via the TV that I could find so we had to wait a while before we could check out. For a single night it was OK but I won’t be returning. Lastly I was supposed to get a 25$ VIP but I wasn’t reminded at check-in (guess my bad for not thinking about it at the time).
- 3/5
No coffee maker or supplies in rooms- fine but not great But then there was on complimentary coffee in the lobby either. They said there would be coffee available for purchase in AM but there was no one tending the bar. Also, the bar was supposed to be open until 10 pm but by 8:30 there was no service. My room was on the 6th floor with a nice view but no place to sit and enjoy the view. The staff room and door to the stairs were on either side of my room and both were noisy- very loud inside my room
- 2/5
The staff here are friendly, and the outdoor pool is nice. However, this hotel is not suitable if you want to have a good sleep. The walls are paper-thin, you can hear absolutely everything from neighboring rooms and hallway: footsteps, conversations, doors slamming, cabinets opening, even the elevator bell. Noise insulation is basically nonexistent. I would not stay here again.
- 5/5
The staff was the best I did not receive any better benefits, or I was unaware of them
- 3/5
The TV was a "smart" TV, but had no smarts. No streaming movies. Should have brought our Roku stick! (But who knows if there was working WiFi with enough bandwidth to support that.) My wife has Celiac disease. We were prepared for having no gluten free bread available, and I asked if they would toast the bread she had brought, but were told that would not be possible. No coffee maker in the room, and no free coffee in the lobby. For the price, it was a disappointment.
- 5/5
The person who checked us in was very nice and professional, which made for a great first impression. Our room was very clean, and the same goes for the facilities and all common areas throughout the hotel everything was impeccably maintained. The building décor is unique and a bit different, but very cute and charming. The gardens and pool area are beautifully maintained and provide a lovely space to relax; it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The hotel’s location is ideal, centrally located near shopping and a wide variety of restaurants, which made getting around very convenient.

However I would like to note that the lobby smelled of grease/fast food, likely due to the breakfast burrito spot’s doors opening directly into the hotel.
- 3/5
It was okay condition, sink didn’t work and the shower faucet kept falling off. And elevators didn’t work
- 5/5
Breakfast menu limited
- 3/5
The staff were lovely. The lobby was great. The rooms were nice. However, there was no maid service. No fresh towels. No toilet paper. No staff during the very very very busy RoseBowl week. And the price paid per night was exorbitant compared to a regular night stay at another time. Price gouging!!!
- 5/5
The location is great and we enjoyed being able to walk to good eateries along the parade route. We will definitely be staying here again.
- 5/5
Maybe tea and coffee machine access in the room, would have been preferable.
- 5/5
Gracious service at the morning bar.
- 4/5
Clean. Convenient
- 4/5
Decent value relative to location. Staff is a mix btwn good + needs more training, but all friendly. Great breakfast
- 4/5
Chose the upgraded room with the tub which was worth it - great tub. The shower had a broken leaky runny faucet which was a letdown.
- 4/5
courteous staff, clean room, but the size of room is on the small side for a little bit
- 3/5
room too small and there's no coffee machine
- 5/5
Staff was amazing, very good atmosphere at the Comet Club for breakfast (Adriana you're the best). Great location, absolutely loved it. Definitely worth the money, will stay again next time when I'm in town.
- 5/5
Great staff at check in. Great room. Great service at bar & food areas.
- 5/5
Located conveniently in downtown Pasadena, super clean hotel, friendly environment, game set up downstairs for the entire family!
- 3/5
The hotel is quite old. I booked a premier room but when we checked in the room smelled like bleach. Hotel said they didn’t have other big rooms for us to switch to, so we got downgraded to the standard room which was quite small. And because we booked via Expedia, we couldn’t receive refund for the price difference. The water in this hotel felt weird. I think they added some chemicals in the water. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
The hotel was nice i just felt that charging $39 per day you are visiting is a bit much. Especially if im staying multiple days. We did ask for our room to be serviced and the maid did not arrive. There was a odd smell and the rooms were a bit tiny you could also hear everything going on with neighbors. Other than that the front staff is great and the rooms were well kept
- 5/5
Great service and beautiful room
- 5/5
The room was clean, the breakfast was ok. Staff were very friendly, elevators in the parking garage did not work on B1 and B2 so I advise planning your parking and look for parking around the B1 floor.

- 4/5
Great stay, staff was a definite bonus! The room was very tight, couldn’t open the shutters for the furniture, but the great views were there. But if you expect a Complementary Continental Breakfast this is not the place for you.
- 5/5
We loved staying at this hotel. Everything was great including the staff, the clean room, and the comfortable beds. Parking was easy and the location was superb.
- 4/5
Secure parking ( just a little tricky to find once inside) Really pretty courtyard & pool area . Great location! But … No coffee maker in room ! This was a deal breaker for me. Had l known I could have brought a kettle with me but I had a big headache in the morning instead. I wish I had known in advance. Otherwise a really great hotel . Derek at the front desk was super nice and helpful when I was checking out .
- 5/5
The King Corner Suite was top notch! Massive room, huge, comfy bed with fresh, crisp linens and nice soaking tub. Great water pressure.
- 5/5
The room was spotless, the staff was amazing and everything was beyond perfect will definitely stay again.

Room service n dude staff
- 5/5
The staff at check in were very pleasant and helpful. She gave us an upgrade which was so great. Our room is very roomy, well decorated, and comfortable.
- 4/5
We ran into two issues: 1. Their listing on Expedia does not mention an additional charge for pets. The tried to charge is $75/each for our dogs. 2. I was dizzy and took a warm shower, sitting on the shower floor. The bottom tiles and grout had so much mold on them!! It was honestly surprising, and explained why the bathroom had a musty smell.
- 3/5
Didn’t like the staff not friendly
- 5/5
It was a lovely hotel in a refurbished older building, the beautiful pool and a very quaint courtyard and lobby. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

- 4/5
Love this hotel! Very quiet and the pool is over the top!
- 5/5
Clean room ! Staff very friendly ! Overalls very nice
- 3/5
People are great but the room had no microwave. No ice machines no complimentary coffee in the AM. No amenities I would have expected. Takes 2 elevators and long hallways to get to lobby from garage. All doors were poorly marked and easy to get lost or walk on to the street.
- 5/5
I had now stayed here by myself as a staycation for my birthday for two years in a row. I was looking for something local that felt unique. I love the style of the lobby here- feels like a living room or study. I ordered my dinner out on the patio for change of ambiance. Rooms are clean and quiet. But the best part is the pool area. I also used the gym, which was a bit small- some stretching mats would be nice! Wish you could do breakfast at the pool but they don’t have food service out there that early. Staff are friendly. I would stay again!
- 3/5
No real onsite restaurant. No room service menu. Had a mini frig but not coffee maker in room. Carpet dirty. Staff was very nice. Convenient location. Lobby area nice and inviting. Bar service good. No onsite food after 9:00. Lighting in room poor. No ability to sit on balcony at all. Room extremely small. Bathroom was actually part of room.

Clean room, friendly front desk staffing & comfortable lobby to lounge & hang out.

Yes to both!
- 3/5
The rooms are small and some have bathrooms that are open the the bedroom area in a open floor plan concept. No privacy. Expedia does not show these rooms or mention them.
- 5/5
Not only was the hotel itself incredibly clean and beautifully designed, every staff member I came into contact with went above and beyond to make my stay feel comfortable and safe. As a young woman traveling alone, that was paramount to the quality of my vacation. I will absolutely be booking another stay here ASAP. Thank you to everyone on staff there!
- 5/5
Best hotel in Pasadena.
- 4/5
Great lobby and patio. The pool was awesome. The rooms and beds were small. The toilet paper and tissues were very low quality. Decent location, but old downtown is better.
- 5/5
I was next to the maintenance room. Pretty noisy
- 4/5
Nice hotel. At price, should have free parking and breakfast
- 3/5
View of the parking lot. Check-in person felt like they were in training. Morning person was way better! Hotel needs to update their written materials- no more room service yet it’s still stated. Check-in person said you could order food out at the pool but that wasn’t the case
- 3/5
Convenient parking. Central location. Hotel old and seems outdated and a little unkempt. Rooms require makeover. Limited dining. No inroom coffee
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! Would stay again
- 4/5
Pretty hotel in an excellent location. Could use some updating. The pool was too cold to swim but water pressure and hot water in shower were excellent. Staff was super nice and extremely efficient checkin!
- 5/5
Had a perfect stay! We booked rooms here for the Chappell Roan concert.
- 5/5
The hotel was lovely, lots of unique and interesting features. The room was clean and spacious. The area is walkable and there are a lot of great dining options- easy to get around Southern California without being in the busy city. Of note, parking is $29 a day, not included; and neither is breakfast- it’s priced ala cart. The listing is a little unclear on that. Staff is kind and helpful!

We really liked the roof top pool! It was a vibe. But if I'm being honest, for $400 a night, I couldn't believe how small the rooms were. We got a double bed room because there were 4 of us and it was a really tight squeeze. It was also pretty inconvenient that the parking was in a lot with multiple levels and it had no AC so when we got there we were dripping sweat. The hotel was nice. But I feel it was very overpriced.
- 5/5
Yay for hiring Matt!
- 4/5
I wish they had coffee makers in the rooms.
- 5/5
A beautifully remodeled old property. Very nicely appointed and a great value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again!
- 5/5
Very clean and nice property. Check in was super quick and simple. Appreciated the pre check in email as I was able to book early check in which was perfect timing for our arrival. Would stay again if headed to the Rose Bowl.
- 4/5
The staff at check in was absolutely amazing. So kind and helpful. The atmosphere was beautiful, the room was big and had the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. They lost a star for their terrible terrible bartender… the rooms only have two teeny tiny water bottles. We were told by the front desk staff the bartender would sell us water bottles. We sat there for twenty minutes while he did busy work and completely ignored us (3pm). Finally he told us the bar isn’t open. We told him we only needed to purchase water bottles. His response was “well I don’t even have keys to get you a water bottle so you’ll have to wait til 4:30 when it opens.” This was after we watched him open the cupboard to put things in it. We went back to our room and back down at 4:30. We asked again and he said “I’m out of water bottles. I can see if I can find you some little ones but I doubt we even have those”. Why would you not have little ones if they are stocked in the room every day??? We ended up just leaving. He was absolutely rude and unprofessional. Once again, the rest of the staff was amazing, kind, helpful. Stay away from the bar if the guy with long brown hair is working. Terrible.

We stayed in room 329, it is enormous and so comfortable; modern furniture, couch area, dining table that seats 8, office area, outdoor balcony, big bathroom, quiet bedroom, you could not ask for more. Pool during the SoCal heat wave was perfect.

- 5/5
This was a really cute hotel that you just want to hang out in. The building is gorgeous and the sitting areas throughout the hotel are quaint. The staff were all very helpful and polite. The room was clean and had great lighting. It was great to take a dip in the pool after a long day of school, and especially loved that it was walking distance to downtown and enjoyed catching the sunset over great food at the beautiful Osa rooftop restaurant. Hope to come back again!

There was no glasses or water boiler in the room

Very nice hotel. Got the king bed corner bedroom. Very spacious and clean. Extremely friendly staff. Parking is paid for $29 a night with in and out rights. Locations is great with all shopping stores, coffee shops, banks and restaurants walking.
- 5/5
The property was very clean, nice rooms and plenty of restaurant options near by.
- 1/5
This is an old hotel...efforts to modernize it are not working. Room was small and claustrophobic. Windows have lattice shutters obstructing view and do not open. Requested tub but got shower only. Hallways are narrow. Lobby is shabby and worn. Long walk from parking garage to hotel is hot and ugly, industrial-like atmosphere. Had reserved two nights but left after one. Good news is we were not charged for the second night. The staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. Good hot water. The price for this room was ridiculous. We found a much better room, better location and much less expensive.
- 2/5
Room too small . Lobby looks plain not welcoming .
- 2/5
Dated and the pictures aren’t really representative of the overall condition and design of the rooms. Better options for the price
- 5/5
Great property and staff was very friendly!
- 4/5
The hotel had a great pool and a beautiful quiet courtyard. Nice furnishings. Very classic Old town Pasadena. Great location, mostly quiet but still a bit of noise from the street.Only disappointment was they didn't inform me about the NO housekeeping unless you request policy. Also there was no morning breakfast. They just had coffee and pastries.
- 4/5
Great location. Room was very small and seating inside the room was limited to one desk chair. Balcony was nice but not clean. Wonderful pool area and service. Lobby and front desk associates were great! Nice quiet nooks to sit and lounge/relax in “common areas”
- 3/5
The hotel really looks nothing like the pictures. The pool is very generic looking and the pool furniture is all stained and dirty. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon, they were wet towels everywhere and the place was a complete mess with trash on the ground. It is tidied up as of Monday, but it just is not as luxurious as the pictures suggest. The room itself is just blah. The lobby is not upscale and has a bunch of random furniture everywhere. There’s no service at the pool until 430. Just not the luxurious stay I was hoping for.

Property was clean in a convenient location.

Beautiful lobby. Somewhat odd choices for room renovations but clean and could be considered interesting. Kids had a blast in the pool. Lovely staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and the nicest staff!
- 4/5
I would like to see the Facility fee included in the pricing for the room. It was annoying to have that added on at the end on top of the parking fee. The room was really nice and comfortable.
- 5/5
Beautiful Property would definitely go back!!!!
- 3/5
Charged for morning cup of coffee. Parking garage very far from check in down long concrete corridors, beds not made up after first night. Most chairs in lobby uncomfortable to sit in. Room was tiny. No at to make light not shine in with shutters. Overall not a friendly feeling except from other travelers. Would not go back.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, great location and friendly staff. Will definitely come back!
- 4/5
My third stay here. Staff seemed more challenged. Air conditioning was not working my first night but they upgraded my stay to a better room the next day. One of two elevators wasn’t working then the remaining elevator stopped working. Service elevator then put into use. Front desk appeared understaffed. Would not answer the telephone when I discovered the air was out. Perhaps they’re overextended since the Alta Dena fire.

I really liked this hotel. Room is small, but nice, cozy & clean. Pool is fun, comfortable and plenty of room the day we there. Hotel lobby is unique and artsy. Great location, much to walk to. Friendly staff.

This is a great hotel for the price. Has so many beautiful places to lounge. Has a great pool with bar service. Staff were friendly. Room was cozy with a very comfortable bed. And dog friendly! What more could you ask for??
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.
- 4/5
The room and bed were comfortable. Quite clean and modern. However, disappointing there was no coffee provided in the room nor was there any body lotion among the bathroom amenties. The bartender on a Saturday evening seemed a bit overwhelmed and the house reds were VERY expensive. Also in the lobby, the throw rugs need to be better secured. Thank you.
- 3/5
Only one elevator working. A/C unit went out but was fixed quickly
- 4/5
Nice place
- 3/5
The couch in the room had stains and the air conditioning wasnt very strong given the heat outside.
- 2/5
The room was extremely tiny and the staffs communication was almost 0 to none.
- 5/5
Our 3rd visit, and as always, we experienced exemplary service and friendly faces.
- 2/5
Only one elevator was working, and it was having issues. I was told that housekeeping was going to clean and never did after I requested it. Parking was $29 a night plus a 15.76 daily facility fee. Tv remote did not work. For some reason there was a curtain outside the bathroom that when moved you could see the shower. The refrigerator was not cold it was room temperature. I did like how quiet the place was though. I liked the art in the lobby as well.

No specific commentary

Nice , clean hotel. Staff is nice. Not set up or staffed for late night eating or drinking. The bathrooms in EVERY ROOM has no privacy. The walls /glass dividers for the toilet don’t go all the way up. No privacy.

Excellent location, wonderful room, updated bathrooms and facilities. Only downfall was slow and non-working elevators during our stay. Hopefully they’re fixed next time!
- 5/5
Clean & comfortable.

Overall great staycation
- 5/5
Property was beautiful! Loved the pool area and very walkable. The bed was comfortable and clean. You do have to pay daily to keep your car there, a good variety of coffee shops close by as well for breakfast.
- 5/5
It is a good place to stay for a short time period
- 4/5
Hotel is beautiful! Staff seemed non engaged answered questions didn’t engage in pleasantries
- 3/5
The hotel had a nice little courtyard.
- 3/5
Ok hotel, parking not convenient, couldn’t get a bottle of water because the “bar wasn’t open till 4:30, until one of the staff kindly got me a bottle. Room very small and a $15.75 daily convenience fee not shown on the hotels.com website. Overall, kind of barely ok.

We’ve stayed at Pasadena Hotel & Pool several times now and we keep coming back. Rooms are comfortable, AC works great, floors are quiet and staff are very friendly. Love the lobby setup with the bar, games, and lounge atmosphere.

Lovely, historic hotel, tucked away in Pasadena, surrounded by shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Convenient, easy parking, and a beautiful, classy hotel. Rooms were well sized.

I love this place. So old school California
- 5/5
Good trip accommodation good and convenient
- 5/5
Loved the vibe of the hotel. It's nice staying somewhere that is unique and captures the flavor of the area. Staff was friendly. Parking garage was a little tight but easy to access.
- 5/5
We come here every year and have a wonderful experience. Brought our best friends this year too.
- 4/5
Everything was great. We would stay there again happily but would book a larger room. The king corner room was too small for two people.
- 4/5
Comfortable. Neighbors were loud and very late. We weee by the elevators and could hear everyone come out.
- 5/5
I randomly picked this hotel because of the rating and closeness to the venue I was going to celebrate my friends retirement party. I was offered an upgrade to a room I didn’t know had a tub!!! The rim was everything! Spacious extra large restroom with separate shower and vintage tub!!! The bed was the only thing could use an upgrade but overall I’d still give it a 9.5 out of 10
- 5/5
The room is modern with a lot of nice features including a toilet seat that warms automatically, and a huge tub with a view of a mini tv which was a nice touch. The downstairs is pretty and the outdoor area and pool looked nice although I didn’t use them. Very quick access to a lot of food and coffee options. Was a nice location! Would stay again.

Centrally located.

This hotel is in a great location and was perfect for us. Did think the carpets were a bit grubby. But then realised it was probably the after effects of the all the fires. So overall excellent!!!!
- 4/5
Room is small and with no drawers for clothes, but very pretty and the bed is very comfortable. We asked for maid service and it did not happen
- 1/5
I paid a LOT of money for a suit at this dump. No room service at night, no bar service at night. In my room, no coffee maker ( Even Motel 6 provides these ) no Mini Bar, and worst of all, NOT ONE SINGLE BOTTLE OF WATER, not one. Then next morning call down to ask if coffee was available in the lobby, yes, for $4.50 a cup. When my wife ask for a little extra milk, the girl slammed the container down and said " help yourself " Before you book here ,THINK ,about my review!!!
- 4/5
Comfortable hotel, very near to Downtown Pasadena. Lots of restaurants near by.

Really beautiful all throughout the property. From the interior to exterior, it has a modern yet cozy California vibe. Lots of great shops and restaurants walking distance as well. Really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend!
