The Colony Hotel Palm Beach

This was by far the most outstanding experience we have ever had staying at such a magnificent hotel. The colony Hotel Palm Beach is in a class of its own. It’s pure elegance. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the well trained, courteous and lovely staff. It felt like going back in time to be greeted by name by the servers, acknowledged by the lovely women at the front desk and treated with so much respect and top hospitality by the valets. The evening jazz by the pool was so classy and the ambience is truly magnificent. Our room was pristine. Not a detail was spared to make our stay comfortable by the hotel..

The condition of the room was unacceptable, and I notified management immediately upon my discovery. The hotel claims they had the room inspected for bed bugs, but of course they would say that. I texted pictures to a bed bug inspector, who said the bites did look like bed bug bites. When I arrived home after a five-hour flight, I could not enter my home for fear of infesting it and had to either professionally clean all my clothes or keep them in trash bags outside for several days. It was a huge stress, inconvenience, and additional cost. I reported the issue to the hotel, but they refused to offer any acceptable resolution. They offered a free upgrade for my next stay, which felt insulting under the circumstances. After that, they stopped responding to me altogether. The lack of accountability and follow-up made an already unacceptable experience even worse. Guests should be able to expect a clean, sanitary sleeping area and respectful customer service when serious concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Unfortunately, our experience was heavily impacted by a group staying in the room next to ours. They were making loud noises, yelling, and slamming things throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We eventually had to contact the front desk, and the situation escalated to the point where the police were called to escort them out. We understand that this was not the hotel's fault, and we do want to recognize Jose, the manager, who reached out to us and did his best to assist after the incident. His professionalism and concern were appreciated. There were also a few other issues that affected our stay. The hotel's website states that checkout is at 12:00 PM; however, our room keys stopped working at 11:00 AM, which was confusing and inconvenient. This should be clarified for guests. Additionally, the room did not have blackout shades, allowing a significant amount of light into the room early in the morning. To make matters worse, our room was located near the dumpster area, and after already getting very little sleep due to the noisy neighbors, we were woken up again around 7:00 AM on Sunday by the garbage truck. Considering the rates charged by the hotel, we expected a much more comfortable and restful experience.

The Colony Hotel is the perfect place for a girls get away - the hotel is beautifully decorated and the theme is consistent throughtout the property. The rooms are individually decorated and each one if unique and inviting - the pool is lovely, the bar is a scene and the cocktails are great! The staff goes out of their way to make your experience fabulous - a totally wonderful experience!

Everything was perfect. From the decor to the exquisite service. One of the best 5 star hotels in Florida if not the US.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and not as good as first time. The first time we were bowled over by the friendly and helpful staff and abundance of everything attitude. Nothing was too much trouble during the first stay. This time not so much and some of the girls at front of house could do with a refresher course on customer service. Overall we had a wonderful stay thank you.

Danai at front desk was on point and lively. Outside of her I would say the front staff was lacking with no exec presence. I had a late checkout if 1215 and someone came into our room and picked up everything for the next guest. I arrived at tethirty to rest with my daughter she soneone disbursed us during her nap to so why I was in the room. My snacks and other small items went missing. I was charged for adult lunches when I ordered from the kids menu…. And I was overcharged every mornig without my daughters choice if milk or fruit that comes along with breakfast with the exception of today. Marie took care of us. Brian was nice too. At the beach they chatted us for two adult meals again and they forgot to bring the fruit and brownie. I am not happy paying an arm and a leg for half the service.

but the lobby desk said the hotel was full and they could go nothing about it. They were doing movie shoots in the lobby several days and it was difficult getting in and out of the hotel. We’ve stayed at other boutique hotels in PB much more conducive to a restful stay. So disappointed because I tried to make my wife’s stay nice and failed miserably.

This hotel is my ultimate happy place. I’ve stayed twice, though this was my first solo trip, and I am leaving feeling totally refreshed and amazing. The place smells delicious, is squeaky clean, has incredible amenities and wonderful thoughtful touches everywhere. Trust me when I say you will want for nothing, and if you need something, the lovely staff will get it for you! You experience a true sense of place here - it really is a “Pink Paradise.” Can’t wait to come back in May!

We come to Palm Beach and always stay at a famous place (the B.). We have found our new place. Great staff, great management, very accomodating and super friendly. Yes, not as fancy and opulent as other place but better location and much better vibe. Staff so happy to help. What a difference

The hotel itself was lovely, although the room and bathroom were a bit small. The amenities, pool, staff etc. - all great. My only complaint was we were woken up at 7:00 from trash collection and uniform delivery at 6:30/7:00. The rooms are super expensive and I wouldn’t expect this from a luxury hotel.

The Colony is an exceptional boutique hotel! The staff are the best and the decor and theme are beautiful throughout the hotel. Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Location to Worth Ave shopping and nearby eateries cannot be beat!

All but one of the lamps had white light bulbs, which made it feel more like an office rather than a hotel room. I also upgraded to a Junior Suite, and while I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was, I was quite shocked at how tiny the bathroom was. There was even more space in the closet than in the bathroom.

So So So dog friendly! My German Shorthaired Pointer, Blitz was treated like a king! The staff was super friendly and never hesitated to ensure my stay was a good one. While the room rates were moderately priced especially for Palm Beach, I'd say not bad at all, literally EVERYTHING else in the hotel is quite $$$. No drink under $20 and let's just say my breakfast was $100 for just myself and my dog of course lol. That being said I loved that they allowed dogs in their restaurant and by the pool. Not sure if that's always the case, but they did invite me to :)

We loved that it was not a gigantic hotel with 100s of rooms. It felt intimate and the staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. The location was excellent. You had use of the bikes, the golf cart rides to beach or shopping and a hotel car that could drop you in town. Great shopping and the beach were a block or two away. no complaints

The Colony is as iconic as described. The lobby and poolside restaurant were smaller than anticipated by seeing pictures, but that was not a big deal to us. The staff was so friendly and always eager to help with anything needed. The beach butler setup was darling, just as pictured on the hotel website! The house car took us to and from shopping and dining. It is decorated so beautifully, I can't say enough great things about the hotel! Loved our visit!

Recently renovated, the Colony still captures old world Palm Beach chic without being stuffy or pretentious. This is the place that people who go anywhere CHOOSE to stay. The staff are so welcoming. The rooms were very quiet in spite of events during my stay. A lovely experience.

The food and drinks on the island are absurdly expensive and overpriced which is not right. Hotel ownership should invest in the amenities as they are non existent or lacking tremendously.

This was my second stay at the Colony and it was again fantastic. Beautiful vibe around this place and enhanced by the wonderful service from bar staff, through the bell staff snd not forgetting the amazing “reception” team.

Great decor, very friendly service, very expensive for what you get. Drinks in the bar were ridiculously expensive. No coffee maker in the room which I miss. Our room was very small, but beautifully appointed. The same with the bathroom, small but very well done. $40 for parking. Great high-end shopping just outside the door, but very limited poor restaurant choices.

This is a very happening spot in Palm Beach with a lot of activity on the lobby. The pool and restaurant are a meeting place for guests and locals alike. Our room was comfortable but 3 things could have improved our stay : a larger bathroom. We could barely turn around in ours and we were in a suite ! So value for money not tops. There is no magnifying mirror in the bathroom for us ladies over 50 who appreciate that sort of thing in a good hotel. And thirdly the amenities kit ( cotton swabs, ear buds etc ) is absurdly miserly for a hotel of this level. They need to splash out a bit more on these very inexpensive but appreciated extras.

The hotel is beautiful with a calming vibe . The service was excellent. I would have given it an excellent rating except for the check in experience in which I had to wait 5 hours for my room !

The Colony definitely has a vibe to it. Plenty of activity in the lobby and around the pool. The staff is friendly and helpful. My particular room was awful, as it was located behind the elevator and the bathroom was tiny, with peeling wallpaper and pretty dirty overall. I had asked to get in my room early, so I think this was their way of teaching me not to do so again. Have stayed there in the past and never had an issue with a room. Will try the Palm House Hotel next time as it is new and both rooms and bathrooms are definitely a step up from the Colony.

The hotel is great although our room was extremely small. Otherwise it is very convenient to worth Ave and all the great palm beach shopping and restaurants. I would stay here again.

The room was dingy and noisy. The front desk was so clueless. A friend asked for a bottle of skin oil she bought to be put in her room. It was never seen again. the desk insisted it was there and even went to look. In my room, the shade didn't go up which made it very dark . The front desk told me that my room is about 6 feet away from a wall so it didn't matter and the shade wasn't supposed to go up anyway.I asked to switch rooms and they said all rooms in my price range were opposite the wall. But, if I would move to a room that was $500 more than my room...which was already expensive, I go be moved to a room with more light. When I went to the front desk there must have been someone else there because they said they would send engineering to raise my shade. When I got back to my room, my shade was raised halfway but, they were right about the wall and the room was still dark and dingy. Also, the shower didn't work well and the bathroom was really rundown.

This was our first stay at the Colony, though we have eaten at Swifty’s many times in the past. Sadly, it did not measure up to our expectations. The room we had was very expensive and it was barely average in quality. Our view was of a wall! Literally a wall. It was small and there was nothing special about it. We thought the decor would be on the same level as the lobby and public spaces, but it was far from it. The room also had furniture that had seen better days. You get the sense that the hotel has just become a big tourist attraction and photo opportunity. Completely not worth it for the price. Additionally, the property and the pool are small and no effort is made to keep these spaces reserved for guests if the hotel. It was impossible to get a lounge chair and it was clear that non-hotel guests were using some of them. I understand that the hotel wants to make money off the bar but this unfair to paying guests. We went to the beach one day and the chairs were covered in sand and they didn’t have any towels. Completely unacceptable for this price point. We left the Breakers to spend a few nights here and immediately regretted it. That said, the staff is lovely and the restaurant remains a favorite. I highly recommend having a meal or a drink here, but for us, we sadly did not feel it was worth it.

The Colony Hotel was wonderful, as always.

The shower in suite is only complaint, no door & it is entirely too small too pull off. Each shower was cold with intermittent hot. I dreaded the shower & the bathroom as a whole. The toilet is literally at the head of the bed, which is not pleasant at times.

Fabulous place! Decor was beautiful and the whole ambience had an air of frivolity! Plentiful friendly and helpful staff who could not do enough to help and oblige. Loved the location, so handy for both the shops and the beach. Enjoyed the hotel bikes which we took out in the mornings along the beach road. Food at Swiftys was first rate and great setting by the pool. Comfy bed and large walk in dressing room. Toiletries were divine and all the little extras ready made the stay exceptional. We were left tea and biscuits in our room to remind us of home which was a much appreciated and heart warming touch. Will definitely be back - loved the place. Bathroom was on the small side and there was no magnifying mirror.

the walls are apparently very thin. the woman in the room next to me came in drunk and was very loud on her phone at 11pm for about an hour. it was like she was in my room she was so loud. i needed a good night's sleep because i had an important business meeting the next day, i *specifically* picked a small, expensive hotel because i thought it would be quiet. so that was a waste of $800.

Awesome boutique hotel! We celebrated our 21 anniversary and we had plenty to do and beautiful beaches, restaurants and scenery to enjoy. We’ll definitely be back soon.

I think the property is adorable. Sadly multiple construction projects were going on at once and ut did upset the experience for me.

Hotel and staff were amazing!

Amazing hotel! I was able to check in 4 hours early and was upgraded to a beautiful two room suite. I was also able to check out late and the staff was extremely helpful! I will definitely come back.

This is the third time we go and it is always better than the last one. The food is excelent . The service too. The cleaning….

Absolutely terrible. No valet when needed, the elevators are being repaired and sound like they’re going to break when you are in them. Misled me about early check in- no comps, no one cares. Absolutely awful.

Absolutely spectacular stay! The property itself is a pink paradise. Super clean and fresh with breathtaking grounds. A short walk to the beautiful turquoise water of the palm beaches and an even shorter walk to the famous Worth Avenue. The staff was beyond attentive and accommodating. My daughter is a Type1 Diabetic and when her blood sugar dropped at 6am, the front desk agent could sense my panic. He went in the back and brought her a glass of fresh orange juice and stayed with us until she felt ok. Can not wait to come back to this hotel!

Everyone was so friendly and warm. They treated us like family and made us feel so welcome. Even though there was construction going on and some routine maintenance they went the extra mile to make sure our time by the pool was comped which was very nice. We will definitely be back!

The Colony Hotel is reminiscent of old world Palm Beach but with fun, whimsical decor. Although the building is older, the rooms are decorated lovely. I wish my bathroom was larger, but the junior suite size made up for it!

The hotel was fabulous! All of the staff was exceptional, so friendly and helpful. The poolside food and drink service was great too. Onsite restaurants are so good. Our beach day was amazing with everything set up and ready for us when we arrived, including our own cooler with food we had required.
