Universal's Hard Rock Hotel

It was just ok. First of all it should state that fast passes always come with the rooms and your actually not paying for them in with the rooms it’s convenient that it’s close to the parks but it’s not worth it all together with the rates. I would not recommend booking through Expedia it’s a rip off. Then when you try to get some help no one does anything to help. Other than that the pool was alright. The staff are excellent very friendly and all around great people.

This is a very large resort-style hotel with beautiful grounds and an amazing pool area. It has the charm of the classic grand hotels, with spacious common areas and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was incredibly large, comfortable, and well maintained. We experienced no issues with either the room or the hotel facilities during our stay. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a small issue when we first arrived, but it was handled professionally and efficiently, so I have no complaints. Some employees went above and beyond to help us, while others were less engaged, but that is something you can encounter anywhere. One thing I should mention is that I initially thought the hotel was located right next to Universal Orlando. It is not within walking distance in the way I had imagined, but it is very close to CityWalk, and the complimentary water taxis make transportation to the parks extremely easy and enjoyable. The biggest advantage of staying here is definitely the Universal perks. Early park admission and unlimited Express Pass access added tremendous value to our visit and saved us a significant amount of time. The only real downside for me was the price. It is certainly an expensive hotel, and that would be my main consideration before booking again. Aside from that, I had an excellent stay and encountered no problems. Would I stay here again? Absolutely—but the cost would be the factor that makes me think twice. None

Room was really comfy and hotel was clean and well presented. The transport to the parks was excellent. The express passes were amazing- much better than Disney’s system! It was very costly for the actual hotel- although it was nice I am not sure it was worth the premium for the actual hotel if that makes sense! Some staff were excellent, but some staff let the team down. Loved the boat crew!

Perfect for a family or adult getaway. The resort is 5 minutes to walk to universal studios which was the easiest experience for us.

The mattress was so old that it had sagged in the middle, my room was right behind a neon sign so it was way too bright, the bathroom smelled like a sewer, and kids were screaming in the hallway. When I asked to use the microwave, they charged me $15 for one that was ancient, filthy, and wouldn’t even open properly. It was such a terrible experience that I never want to go back.

Great atmosphere, music playing and fun pool entertainment. Rooms were large, all the facilities were top notch. Unlimited Express passes are invaluable and it’s a lovely short walk right to universal studios. Amazing hotel, wish I could have stayed longer.

I loved the position of the hotel just a small walk away from the entrance to universal studios. I loved the option to take a boat to the CityWalk area and the gardens, grounds and poolside areas were beautiful. We had 2x 1 night stays during our two week holiday (which enabled us to benefit from the unlimited express pass). Second time we stayed, we were provided with a complimentary garden view room upgrade which was a lovely surprise. I felt the rooms were quite plain and the pool was shallow.

Booked this hotel for the express passes primarily, but what a fantastic hotel. Fantastic pool, my children had the best time in it. Really short walk to the parks and very regular boats. Only fault was VERY expensive pool cocktails - ordered a pina colada (which turned out to be a pre made frozen one from a slush machine) my jaw nearly fell on the floor at the price, would have expected it to made from scratch for the price.

loved the location, pool, room, parking fascilities, and the express passes included the pool area was very dirty, everywhere there were plastic plates with leftovers, wrappers, old food in sand. it made a very bad impression cause the hotel otherwise was great and the stuff at the reception were really friendly and at the same time professional. also in th epool area there was a guy singing and playing rock music but it was soooo loud that it was not possible to relax by the pool.

Proximity to Universal + Express passes are why I booked at this property. Enjoyed the convince of hopping on the water taxi to get to City Walk. Staff was very friendly. Other than that, hotel room was less than basic for the money spent. You can also hear everything your neighbors are up to…which was not ideal, especially when you’re traveling with kids and for what you pay. If I go back to Universal, I’ll probably opt to stay at Saphire Falls again - liked it a bit more.

Location comfort excellent receptionist was so rude and unhelpful I booked 2 rooms 4 adults & 1child I got married just before we arrived unexpectedly the booking was in my married name my passport and driving licence in my birth surname ( didn’t have time to change them both before we flew) she said it was tough basically had to match booking name for security I explained everything she wouldn’t budge walked away went back half an hour later to different receptionist who was great understood and booked us in

The location and service is top class. Staffs are very helpful. A great location to go to the parks. Loved the water taxi ride. The pool was little crowded, but the kids loved the slide. The gave a free icecream for my younger son's birthday. Overall 5 star exoerience. Highly recommended.

We love staying at the Hard Rock - it's a quick walk (or fun boat ride) to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We really enjoy having a nice dinner at The Palm inside the hotel just as much as walking to all of the fun that City Walk has to offer. The pool is so amazing and the staff are ready to keep the drinks coming!

I would say this hotel had the best staff of any hotel I have ever stayed at. They were very friendly and available whenever I needed them. The amenities were great. Food was available 24/7 and plenty of restaurants in hotel and within walking distance.

Amazing location, just a 5-minute walk to Universal. Complimentary Express Pass, a fantastic pool with a beach area and slide. Great breakfast, and music throughout the resort. The room could be more spacious and functional. The bathroom door is awkwardly placed, making it difficult to use comfortably. Having only one bedside table between two beds is impractical for a family of four. Breakfast, while good, is overpriced.

Great time and got in to our room early. A couple times room cleaning madenitnhard to use our room when we wanted to which is why I have a 4 out of 5. We also lost 2 stuffed animals after reporting them lost 1 day after we checked one when we noticed back at home. No luck getting those lost toys back which is sad but we had a great trip.

The hotel was nice but so overpriced for what it was you are paying for the express passes and then the hotel costs on sight were outrageously over priced which devalued the experience

Very easy and quick access to Universal studios, City Walk and Islands of Adventure. Staff were very accommodating for request for a roll away bed but did charge for it which I haven’t ever had to pay extra for. Beds were comfy. The pool and other facilities looked wonderful but we could only stay one night sadly so we weren’t able to enjoy them. We will definitely return to experience more of the wonderful amenities and restaurants on site. We knew every trip to Orlando costs a pretty penny but we didn’t appreciate the little charges at every turn for every little thing. $200 hold charge for room incidentals-“should be returned to your card in x business days.” No microwave available unless you stayed in a suite or rented it for $15 a day. Had to pay to park even after paying top dollar for a room-thought we were going to save on parking by staying at a park resort. Was charged $35 for a roll away bed-we have never had to pay extra for this. The staff was rude to my husband when he and our son went to get our luggage-but otherwise the staff was nice. Thankfully these charges weren’t breaking the bank for us as we have planned accordingly to spend some money on this trip but I would imagine some people may have issues with these charges as they were not disclosed prior to our arrival. Would rather have it included in the price from the start when we paid for booking the room instead of adding it on after the fact.

Overall, great property with good accessibility to the universal Park, relatively good food. The gym is not super fancy, but really accommodated what I needed, and the pool is perfect for the kids

What I really liked about the Hard Rock Hotel was the music experience — it’s present everywhere and truly sets the atmosphere. The pool is beautiful, and the DJ does a great job engaging the kids with fun games, which made it especially enjoyable for families. The location is also a big advantage. Being so close to the parks, along with the convenient bus transportation to Epic and Volcano Bay, made it easy to enjoy everything without stress. I also appreciated the convenience of having a market with a Starbucks on-site, as well as The Kitchen restaurant, which offered delicious and practical dining options — especially helpful when traveling with two kids. Overall, the experience was amazing. To make it even better, it would be great to have Express Pass included for Epic, or at least a discounted option to purchase it. This would elevate the entire stay and make the experience feel even more complete and luxurious.

For such a nice expensive hotel, room didn’t have microwave. They charge $35 to bring you a microwave.

Perfect hotel for proximity to Universal couldn’t have been better located. Having the fast pass included made the whole experience even better and meant we got access to the park earlier. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is wonderful, it is conveniently located close to the parks, the rooms are clean. The free express passes are the best amenity that we received. The pools and restaurants are great, We had dinner at the Palm which was the best dinner that trip. There were some improvements that could be made. The shuttle to the newest park runs every half an hour so we took an uber there. The other issue we had was the first day when we returned from the park at 4:00pm our room was not cleaned. Housekeeping arrived shortly after 5:00pm. Overall we would stay there again.

Tim the Valet and Sam at the front desk help us tremendously. The food at The Palm was incredible. Amanda, our server was all around perfection! From explaining the menu and what to expect from what we order and very professional. Amanda was very nice and respectful with us. Myself my wife and our 14yr old daughter. This was a short 2 day stay. We definitely will return for a longer stay! the stay was Amazing!!! Scott

Best choice if going to Universal Islands of Adventure. 1 hour early entry and express line pass included for everyone in your room. Also 5 minute walk to Islands of adventure. Restaurant prices were ridiculously high. Sat by pool and had drinks $18 for a beer and same $18 for a fruity non alcoholic kids drink. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location and exterior landscape Very dirty room. When cleaning showed up to fix, they put the toilet brush in the the toilet and then used it to scrub the seat. Then we asked for disinfectant and they gave us fragrance spray that they were using as a cleaner. Search reviews and you will find other similar comments. Better to stay off site and Uber/ Lyft, especially since Epic is a drive. No time to use the pool generally, so that isn't worthe paying for when going to the parks....and cleanliness could be an issue there as well.

The hotel offers own security line before getting into Citywalk. Made it to number 5 in line for park entry. Takes 10 minutes to walk to front gate! Worth the value for stress free. The Kitchen waitress was rude and sassy. Assumed my child was a certain age without even. Didn’t expect her attitude and sarcastic comment to my family!

The hotel room was stylish and very clean. The staff was exceptional. Loved the breakfast buffet at The Kitchen. Room Service was fantastic, too! Closest hotel to Universal. Walk or take the boat. And if you have a scooter-very close to scoot over! LOVED IT HERE!

We just had a much better overall experience at Sapphire Falls from our prior vacation. We felt more welcomed. Cleaning staff was pretty good and the beach club was awesome. The staff at check in could have been more welcoming.

Excellent stay at another Loews Hotels. Hard Rock is very close to parks. Beautiful walk from hotel. Also has excellent amenities for your use. The service around the hotel is excellent. Pool service at cabanas is wonderful!

Shame that snacks in the evening are 8-9 becauae surely most people are still in the parks then - we were at least. Like we've found throughout our stay in Florida, toilet paper is terrible here too. Bonus having fast pass and early entry to the parks

The hotel was nice and we expected more but sadly it was ruined by the toilet, the toilet kept refilling and it drove us mad. Reported it at 4pm and was told that it would get fixed, came back at 9.30 and reported it again. Had to chase up after 10pm because son just wanted to sleep. They couldnt do much due to time (if they came up and fixed it earlier wouldnt be an issue) told us they would fix it the next day - problem is we was only staying 1 night. I honestly thought staying at a top hotel we wouldnt have issues and no sleep

The staff were ultra efficient and friendly. Could have spent all day checking out pop memorabilia and the the pool area was outstanding. Having a lightening lane pass included for all our party made life at the parks SO much easier.

So delighted with this property we are going to book another night. Stayed here for 3 weeks while the children were young but unfortunately need 3 rooms now so a few nights is all we can manage x

Hotel was amazing! Club level benefits unfortunately were a miss for us. Food selection for breakfast were the same everyday-with scrambled eggs and cold lunch meat ham slices being the only "protein" offered. Evening options were just as unappealing. Dessert was very boring as well. More protein packed options would have been awesome ex: Nuts, granola bars, etc. Definitely did not feel we got our money's worth with per day with Club Level. Other than that, everything was good.

Perfect for the parks and Express Pass option makes staying better value than purchasing Express passes directly

Noisy guests in next bedroom. Issued raised on 3 occasions with front desk - took over 1.5hrs for someone to speak to guests in next bedroom and even then issue not satisfactorily resolved. Very disappointing experience considering the price of the hotel for a one night stay.

We had a great time at the hard rock. Great staff, great location.

At arrival after a 10 hours drive you could expect a nice restaurant, it’s 9:30pm the restaurant “the palm” close at 10pm…. Good timing…. Not, personnel unhappy to see us arriving a bit late, telling us “only reservation after 9:30pm…. You could smell BS and Low customer care for a mile on their faces: - 1 star. Ordered room service the other night, carrots are here just for decoration…. They are old, left on a shelf for days and even black, don’t give you much confidence for the oily saggy food, seriously at this price…. : - 1 star. Last day, check out super easy, the pool is super family friendly and Kristen at our service was just perfect : + 1 star. Total 3 star, we will go back in Universal studio but not sure we choose Hard Rick Hotel next time

Excellent location and can’t beat the perks of the included Express Unlimited pass. Front desk was very helpful and got us distilled water for our CPAP machines so we didn’t have to leave the hotel to find a store. The club was very nice to grab a quick snack, although it wasn’t worth the added cost of $200/night. Plenty of food for breakfast and dinner, but very slim pickings for lunch (just chips and cookies).

Hard Rock Hotel recently went through a Renovation. Doesn’t change the fact that it is a 24 year old structure. All of the common areas were very nice. Updated rooms still had some issues. A/C unit in room did not keep the room cool at all. In my Queen / Queen room I had a Queen / Double bed. For $1,300 per night…. I don’t think so…. 7th floor Club Floor Lounge, the service was excellent, the food options were not so good. I’m not likely to stay here again, if I do, it will not be on the club level. Hotel Management was very nice and helpful. The Rooms are just old, been tho the renovation make things better.

Where can I start??? This hotel was the best of al the other Hard Rocks Iva stayed at. The rate was a little high but so worth it.

I believe, like many hotels, this wonderful place looks like it needs refresh. It seems rundown after the pandemic. I was there in 2017, and it was a lot nicer. Still had a nice time in 2025, but this place feels tired.

Fantastic location

We had a problem with the electric sockets/lights along one side of the room but didn't notice until bedtime. When I mentioned it at checkout (so it could be fixed for the next stay), they were very apolgetic & gave us vouchers for the starbucks. I am sure they would have sorted it the previous night if they had known. Beds were very comfortable.

Great hotel!! Loved the pool and the included express passes. Dandre (who checked us in) was amazing! My daughter (and us) loved him! Very friendly! We are hoping he is there on our next visit!! We will be back!

Rooms are clean and comfortable But other than the artwork around the hotel, there is nothing special to award the price per night $600+ the other universal hotels Royal pacific which we stayed at previously also gives express passes, also close to the parks with water taxi option and also was just as comfortable & clean in the room and it cost $150+ less per night Wasn’t impressed that when we purchased epic tickets at the hotel we were being pushed towards buying express passes and thank god we didn’t as we didn’t need them at all. Also while we stayed there they were doing renovations and there was going to be some noise and water interruptions eh uh we did experience since we are not ones for being out super early at the parks, although notified this upon check in… what was our alternate? We wouldn’t stay again, it’s not worth the additional and would rather pay a little less go back to royal pacific and we’d still get the express passes so wouldn’t see any difference except not viewing the artwork as we walk through hotel….

Very noisy and lots of drinking and drunk residents. Staff not really bothered about your experience. Room i in s basic, our room had been recently refurbished, but still very damaged furniture. No drying space of wet clothes.

The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and despite the lively atmosphere throughout the hotel, the rooms stay quiet—perfect for a good night’s rest. The hotel offers several dining options to fit your schedule and mood: a full-service restaurant, a quick-serve spot, and a classic diner. There's something for everyone! A special shoutout to the staff —always wonderful and incredibly helpful, making each stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Universal!

Excellent hotel.

And the placements of the mirror (although cool gesture to see what rock stars are your height) the placement of the mirror was awkwardly positioned. No one could get a full view of themselves farther than 2 feet from the mirror as the bed was in the way. Also, on a Saturday night we were expecting some fun activity happening in the lobby area, like maybe Music Bingo, or some sort of trivia or karaoke . There was nothing except the velvet lounge open for just 21 and over—- the singer was fantastic. We were expecting to continue the high energy from the park and rides at the most rocking’ hotel on the property. Also, the complimentary water cooler was always empty and needed refilling. Other than those details but key I believe, the service was great the accessibility to transportation to city walk and attractions were wonderful.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t an awesome experience. We were not informed that the hotel was under construction until we checked in this month that they were gonna shut the water off in the rooms from 9 AM to 5:30 PM that included not being able to use your toilet upon arrival, we were not happy. We were putting our bags on the bed. A cockroach across there wasn’t much follow up from this experience, we were asked to sleep there if they sprayed could they come in and spray and maybe we still sleep in there of course refused the new room was fine after that it was ADA compliant, which I don’t love but it did the Job Unheard of type of experience, including cockroaches on your beds. Did they choose to offer anything or even check in with us the following day.

Always a great time at the Hard Rock. We Always try and stay on the 7th floor for the reception area. We didn’t use it much this trip but it’s nice to have that option. Some construction noise around our hotel room that was rather noisy … the hotel did bring this to our attention at check in but would have been nice to know ahead of time. Self parking is expensive but what isn’t these days if you want nice things and stay at nice places .

Felt welcome from the minute we walked through the door, the VIP Service team are amazing and went the extra mile for our daughter’s 10 birthday. Highly recommended and worth the extra cost for the express passes and walking distance to the main 2 parks we visited.

Arrived at 20:30 with my wife and baby, only then they let us know that They where having renovations on the floor below, and that everyday there was gona be a lot of really laud noises, and also no running water from 9 am to 17:00pm , they only let us know that when checking in, absurd when paying a 700 dollar daily, the least they should offer is a good discount, or let us know in advance about this trouble ,also i asked for a baby crib that wasnt there when i arrived, and it took then more than a hour to bring one, it was 22:00 pm, and my baby was sleeping, overall woulf never stay there again, people on the front desk difnt seem to care about any of this, just keept their smug faces and smiles, thats why Disney thrives every year, there is no competition!! Not even close

Very nice hotel

Overpriced and overated and outdated.We were thinking it would be the highlight of our 4 hotel stays but apart from location, express passes and water taxis i do not rate this hotel.The bathroom door kept sticking the hinges squealed the skirtings were all marked and the desk chair was a disgrace.

We love the hard rock hotel! The vibe is so much fun and lively. It is extremely clean and convenient to the city walk! I know the hard rock has been there a while, and this is to be expected, however, it is starting to need some updating in the guest rooms. The Body Roc room is wonderful along with the sauna. I was pleasantly surprised to find razors and mouthwash In the shower room near the pool. We will definitely be back!

Nice property but very expensive

Stayed for one night to get fast passes for 2 days at Universal. Well worth it. Hotel is amazing from the moment you see the entrance. Rooms are huge, well kept with a massive bathroom. Staff were very friendly and super helpful. Bar had some excellent live music playing when we went for a drink at the end of the day.

For our birthday trip with my sister this year, we chose to stay at a Loew property for the fifth time. Unfortunately, maintenance work began early in the room next door. The worker mentioned he could start later, but I wouldn't have booked this stay if I had known I wouldn't be able to sleep in. I'm quite disappointed.

Heck in was very poor it took a long time to check in definitely room for improvement considering we had a booking and all our details were in computer we stay each year with you and this was the worst check in

It was one of the coldest hotels I’ve ever stayed out. While the temperature dropped significantly the hotel were unable to adjust making it really cold place.

Such a great trip! Niceat young lady who checked us in late Friday night! Room waa so amazing that both kids came to stay! Of courae that waa awesome for me! The whole weekend was great! Hotel service ....amazing!

You can see its not clean

Rooms are a good size. There is very little recycling options in the room or around the hotel. Only 1 USB socket in the whole room.

Love this hotel except it can be noisy at times (hear people yelling or the TV in other's rooms).

Had to call an engineer as light fittings in the bathroom were hanging down and lights flickering. Sprinkler was just fitted as a hole in the ceiling. Tv would not work (couldn’t even switch it off). The sound of children shouting down the corridors first thing in the morning and at night was not appreciated.

This was our fourth time staying here and it has gone DOWN HILL. Booked rock royalty level and it was not worth it. Got to the hotel early and was told our room would be ready in “a few hours” so we swam for the afternoon. When we checked to see if our room was ready 3hrs later, we were met with the most rude staff who couldn’t answer a simple question. Finally got our room and card didn’t work. They made us wait HOURS. Our room was never cleaned during our entire visit which we felt was intentional because we expressed our frustration. TDLR save your money and stay anywhere else but hard rock.

Fantastic boat ride to the parks

Had a blast and I love that you can walk to the parks. We ate at The Palms and loved it.

The room (7th floor rock royalty king size ) was incredible. The bed is the biggest I’ve seen, and the pull out sofa bed is easily a double size. There are coffee/tea facilities with shower over bath, all lovely. Being on the 7th floor meant you had access to the private lounge which served breakfast and snacks throughout the day with drinks reception in the evening. The pool area is lovely, we only went at night as only stayed one night for the express passes, however, they play music through the speakers underwater and play films in the evening too. Nice bar and restaurant area although we didn’t order anything during our stay. We’ll definitely be back!

I booked this property for early access to the parks, express passes and to stay in a hard rock hotel for the first time. The room was sold as suitable for a family of 5 (kids ages 10-12) there were only 2 double beds and we had to pay an extra $35 plus tax for a roll out bed on top of the room price and parking price. I wouldn’t stay there again in a hurry. The cost weighed out the experience

Comfortable bed and shower. Staff talking loudly outside our room 1118 every morning woke us up, had to ask them twice to be quiet. Staff at pool not attentive, never came to us when in sun beds on two separate days to take drink orders, and last day in the bar area so we had to go to bar ourselves. Poor service for the price you pay, will not return even for complimentary express passes

Nice and clean spacious room (with a chance to get roll away bed), pool with a slide & spa, beach club, 24/7 lockers (luggage service), free express passes, including check-in and check-out dates, very convenient location with water taxi available for free. Will stay here again!

Never a bad stay at Hard Rock!

Very close to Universal parks, easy walking distance. Express passes included with stay were very much worth it.

My daughter’s clothes, room pass card, and money were stolen from her sun lounger. Bearing in mind there were no sign posted lockers or any visible. You need to take your room key with you as it gives you access into the pool area. 3 members of staff I spoke to about helping me locate it and none were helpful at all. In fact the manger was down right rude. The guy on reception when I went back the following morning to see if the items had been handed in said. “ you know times are hard nowadays. People will take opportunity’s to take stuff, you win some you lose some “. Absolutely disgusting!! Bearing in mind she had just spent $27 on the lanyard and holder to hold her pass as you need the room key card to access all your park extras so not only did she lose her belongings and her money she lost them I eh she also spent on the items. I will not stay here again. The hotel is beautiful but if you look closer the carpets are stained and dirty.

Wonderful experience

The hotel staff were not the friendliest, even to get basic service out of them you had to tip. The room was never cleaned before 5pm despite us asking for earlier cleaning and we agreed late check out but a maid came knocking to remove us from the room at 11am. Second time staying disappointing to see standards slipping- if it weren’t for the staff express passes we wouldn’t stay again

Expecting more. Thought the room and bathroom would be a little nicer than it was. One day was woken up by construction above our room. They knew there was construction in that room area. They shouldn’t of booked that room. Another night a guest opened our door to our room in the middle of the night. That’s unacceptable.
