Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at Cabana Bay, praising the friendly staff, convenient location, and variety of amenities. However, some guests have issues with cleanliness, room quality, and food options.
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Convenient location with easy access to parks and amenities
- Inconsistent cleanliness and room quality
- Limited food options and high prices
- 5/5
All around excellent experience! Staff was top notch, hotel was great and amenities were worth the $!
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Great location and amenities. The rooms are just outdated, visible ware and tear on the beds.
- 4/5
Hotel was fun with cool vibes
- 4/5
The only downside was the long 30 minutes line and check in process. You see a lot of workers there but it seems like they are just talking to each other, not really paying attention to the line and the customer.
- 5/5
No microwave anywhere on the property. My son only eats very specific foods that are microwaved. Needless to say, he didn’t eat much on this trip.
- 5/5
Excellent atmosphere and clean pools. The pools are open until 11 PM, and the shuttle service to the parks is very good—buses run every 10 minutes.
- 5/5
Nice pools that stay open till 11:00 and the free park shuttle make it worth it ! Oh and the free early park admission !
- 5/5
We are a family of four and we had the best 4 day weekend in years. Great place, really fun and great ambiance
- 5/5
A shout out to DJ Hernandez. She was one of the young ladies who took care of us as soon as we walked in to check-in. What a gem.
- 4/5
It's the typical Orlando hotel they charge for everything
- 4/5
The Bayliner Diner could improve in terms of the quality of food. Theres a Starbucks on site so that was greatly appreciated.
- 3/5
Dead roaches in room. Pleather peeling off headboards. Sheer window curtains sagging, dingy, stained, and ripped. Outlets on nightstands did not work and not fixed the entire week. Permanent stain on powder room floor. We paid extra for a pool view in the Continental section, and received a great view of a patch of bamboo growing and a bit of a walkway. Was told we paid for a room facing the pool, and we got that so no refunds or moving of rooms. Boy we could hear the pool while we tried to sleep though. You have to purchase your own float for the lazy river. Ducks were pooping in the splash pad. Lots of smoking around the resort outside of the designated area, despite signage prohibiting this. I literally watched an adult light up a joint and smoke it at the resort bus stop to Epic Universe while I was standing there with my kids, The smell was terrible, Again, the staff were friendly and kind. The food and other resort amenities were great. But for the price, what we received was less than expected for a Universal affiliate hotel.
- 5/5
Our room was nice. During our stay we experienced car trouble & were assisted by Mason who was a very nice young man who went out of his way to aid us.

- 5/5
Excelente muy familiar my hijo le encanto sin duda volveria
- 5/5
For the price its excellent, also the convenience of the busses and food and pool make it worthwhile.
- 5/5
Check in was easy. The staff are fun and friendly. The overall theming of the hotel really adds to the vacation relax mode. I’m excited to stay here again.
- 3/5
Staff were very nice,
- 4/5
Rooms are somwhat bland but your paying for the pools.
- 5/5
Fun environment my 7 year old son had a blast and it has everything we needed and more for the entire family!
- 5/5
El trato fue muy bueno ,el unico inconveniente fue que nunca recibi el mensaje cuando mi habitacioon estuvo lista,y el check-in lo hice temprano.Muy buena limpiaza y buen trato.
- 4/5
The resort has a diner, and the food was decent. It was a little pricey, but not unreasonable. There is also a Starbucks and vending machines on-site. If needed, there are additional dining options nearby that are easily accessible by car. The resort is conveniently located near Disney World. During our stay, we visited Magic Kingdom. It is important to note that the resort's transportation service only provides transportation to Universal parks, not Disney parks. There are some areas of the property that could use updating. The beds were a bit firm, and the bathrooms felt somewhat outdated. Our key card did not work at serval gates. However, overall, we had a pleasant stay. My son especially enjoyed spending time at the pool, which made the trip enjoyable for him
- 5/5
The stuff and the facility were absolutely perfect my little one had a great time!
- 5/5
Good hotel
- 5/5
Ideal for family holiday with plans to access the theme parks, the early entry does help massively as well as the bus service if you didnt want to hire a car and the food options in the dinner give multiple choices to keep kids interested. We had a 4yr old and a 1yr old and the hotel helped us manage both of these with activities like the pool, bowling and the arcade. Great hotel was our 2nd visit and hope happily return anytime
- 5/5
Wonderful experience! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even upgraded our room for our honeymoon!!
- 3/5
This resort is great for children and families not so much for two adult adults, wanting to relax. The food was delicious. The housekeeping staff was absolutely horrible. They never stopped by to clean our room and we were gone for hours during the day and we’d come back to a dirty room with no towels. The walls were paper thin you could hear everything that was going on in the room next to you the doors slamming at all hours during the day and night was absolutely ridiculous. Definitely not going back there and would not recommend it to anyone.
- 5/5
My kids and I LOVED our stay! The staff, the room, the food, the atmosphere, etc.

I would say the room did need a deeper clean but nothing to be mad about. All in all, we had a great stay.
- 3/5
So overall it was a great time. Didn’t give much information about the different pools they had. I had trouble sleeping bc the curtains were broken and automated. So they randomly would open and close all throughout the day and night. Then trying to relax in the middle of our last day in our room to recharge. They were upgrading tvs so they woke my son and I up from our naps to install the tv. Then left and we finally got back to sleep and they knocked again to program it. So we didn’t get any time to relax bc of that. But overall it’s a cool place to stay and the pool they have is cool and it’s nice to literally walk 500ft to go to volcano bay.
- 3/5
I would not recommend the resort base on the breakfast.
- 5/5
Servicio condiciones de la propiedad excelente lo recomiendo
- 5/5
This is going to be our go to stay when we go to Orlando. The hotel room was perfect for me and my family. And the pool stayed open till 11 o’clock. Would recommend this property to anybody that wants to go there.
- 4/5
This was a business trip so there was no time to enjoy any ammenities.
- 5/5
Great resort w a lot of amenities and the Volcano Bay next door. The hotel is a bit outdated and needs to either repair or update. Overall, good experience.
- 4/5
Very good experience, just had some errors checking in. But, staff apologized and they’re very very neat and know what they’re doing
- 5/5
Great location! Walk to Volcano Bay. Bus line to other parks moves very quickly. Well organized.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
The amenities are fantastic for a family holiday. The frequent buses that took us to Universal were great. The atmosphere was just wonderful
- 5/5
We were a family of four on the vacation. Resort was very nice and clean. Enjoyed the variety of food at the food court, and the Shake/malt shop was great too.
- 5/5
This hotel was wonderful, we had a great room and it was very comfortable!
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Wonderful property and location.
- 3.5/5
Location, friendly staff and clean. My room had a door to the other room, I felt uneasy about this because I was on my own. I could hear everything next door.
- 4.5/5
The pools were nice but packed. Hard to find a lounger unless you go out early. Check in at 4:00 is ridiculous. We were to be texted when the room was ready but waiting until 4:30 then we called because the check in line was so long. A wasted day waiting to check in.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, asome pools for kids
- 5/5
Food court had many choices at reasonable vacation prices.
- 4/5
Overall, we enjoyed the stay

Staff Food
- 5/5
The activities for the children. And the food options . There is a 1960's films that rotates at the diner in the main building . Maybe it was the flatliners cafe. I noticed that there are 1% people of color and 99% Caucasian people. Whenever the film shows people of color they are either dancing but not relaxing. That is stereotyping people of color. I did not see one Asian person on that film. But the Caucasian are filmed vacationing and displayed just doing simple things. The 1960s to the 1970's was a decade of change for everyone here in the United States . So when I view the film I think about all the problems that has occurred here in the US. Just my thoughts on the film.

Me gustó mucho el hotel la vista y sobretodo que esta a un pasito del parque Volvano puedes ir caminando
- 5/5
We enjoyed the place and setup. Very easy to maneuver and kid friendly!
- 4/5
Great location and view to Volcano Bay. You ate able to enter Volcano bay from private hotel entrance. Loved the lazy river onsite. Staff are friendly. Safe in the room didn't work. The cover latch on the peep hole was broken. You could see in our room. The refrigerator wasn't working. However, the staff fixed that issue. Parking is not convenient to your room. It was frustrating hauling the luggage to and from room/car.
- 3.5/5
The position and the vibe that was kind vintage. The staff are doing an amazing work in service and on the cleaning too easy to park plenty of space The room require maintenance especially in the toilet area the extraction didn’t work properly and the handle bar were not properly secured
- 5/5
We love staying here. Highly recommend.

Clean room and friendly staff. Great pools and private entrance to Volcano Bay was a plus for our family!
- 5/5
Food and beverages a bit pricey, but overall trip experience was great. Had to track housekeeping down each day to remove trash and bring fresh towels and washcloths.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!! The staff, the food, the shuttle services, and of course the POOLS!! Will definitely be back and stay at Cabana Bay when visiting Universal Studios or not!
- 5/5
A special thank you to the staff, who upgraded our room for my son’s birthday. That extra touch made him feel celebrated and helped make the trip even more memorable. The biggest downside was the noise. The walls seemed very thin, and for three nights we could clearly hear a neighboring guest loudly yelling and swearing at her son, making it difficult to relax and sleep. Overall, the staff, amenities, and location made for a great experience. Despite the noise issues, we’d stay again and appreciate the kindness shown to our family during a special birthday trip.
- 2.5/5
Location To often pool closes for code brown. Room expensive but after I do that is my son birthday they give amus partial view of volcano. Sad. Waiting for check in for 4 hours after arrival. Disappointed. Last time stayed there
- 5/5
Everything was great and excessable. The price was high, but I understand it is a resort.
- 5/5
Our 3rd visit and we still love the value, atmosphere and great service. The family suite room was clean, had plenty of space for the 6 of us and we'll accommodated. The only thing not liked by the family was the pull-out couch. The lack of a good mattress was very much needed. Despite that, we loved it for our 3 day visit.

If you’re planning to bowl or eat in the blowing area definitely reserve early as there are only a few tables. Outside area was great by the water slide. Many activity areas for the kids. Rooms could use some updates but overall a great time. Buses were quick to the theme parks.
- 5/5
Excellent stay, our teenagers were occupied the whole time!
- 4/5
Clean and well maintained. Nice big pools. Some of the pricing for food and drink was inflated and room keys needed to be used multiple times to open doors which was frustrating. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was great about our stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort, from the front desk staff that initially checked us in "Madi" was terrific and friendly and even reach out after our check in to let us know if there was anything else needed that they were just a text away to reach. Our room was perfect for the size in accommodating my family and having a minifridge and microwave come in handy for families with small children; A+ The pool and river were great for the kids, ease of access to transportation to and from the parks was superb, and the food at Cabana Bay Beach Resort was impressively good! The only thing I think could have been better or maybe it's me being too "nit-picky" is that some of the furniture could have been reupholstered or updated, minor details, but overall, our stay was great and definitely worth the stay!
- 4/5
The restaurants and pools and shops were very nice. We upgraded to a suite that supposedly faced fireworks from the Volcano Park, but there were no fireworks. Our suite was older, dated, but pretty well maintained. The toilet kept running. Overall we were happy.
- 5/5
With all the amenities, it was so easy to bring a family.
- 4/5
Fun Lazy river, buses to universal are frequent. only real complaint was rooms need a bit of an update our headboards were peeling.
- 5/5
Perfect family environment. Great for smaller children.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel to stay with family or friends. Excellent service and nice ambiance.
- 2/5
The hotel has a lot of foot traffic. Check-in took about 30–35 minutes, but the kids enjoyed seeing the characters while we waited, which helped pass the time. The key card system felt a bit outdated and was often inconvenient. There were several occasions when my card didn’t work at the room, pool gates, or parking gate. As a shorter person, having to repeatedly get in and out of my car to reach the parking gate reader was frustrating. Unfortunately, I had to switch rooms due to finding roaches, which was disappointing. The food was okay, but most of it was served lukewarm rather than hot. The made-to-order omelets were the exception and were actually very good. Having a Starbucks on-site was definitely a plus. The pools were spacious and well-maintained. There are two pools, a waterslide, and a lazy river, which my kids absolutely loved. One thing I will say is that the staff was very helpful and friendly, from the front desk to housekeeping. Overall, we had a good vacation, but I don’t think I would stay here again. For me, it’s more of a “glad I experienced it once” type of resort rather than a place I’d return to.
- 4/5
Loved the retro style - made me feel like I was at a evil genius hotel… if you know you know :)
- 5/5
Clean Room, great staff, a lot of choices to eat. Close to Volcano Bay.
- 5/5
The pools are great and the diner have great selection of food.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
This is a huge property themed around 1950s . Diner style. To be honest, it actually feels as old as the 50s too and not in the best way. It feels a little dank and our lobby of the building we were staying in smelled like kitty litter. The shampoo and conditioner provided in the bathrooms is VO5 which is one of the cheapest and worst shampoos and conditioners for your hair humanly possible. The lazy river was cool, complete with a sandy beach. The food was heavy but delicious. They charge you for tubes to go in the lazy river so I’d bring your own. $17 / tube is kinda crazy, however they let you take a new one home when you’re done. Starbucks on site was amazing though. Overall, I’d probably stay at a different hotel given the chance. It felt old and run down, motel vibes, even though it probably is more maintained then it seemed.
- 5/5
Highly recommended. Great for families.
- 5/5
Loved everything about this Resort

- 5/5
Amazing stay. The staff was incredible and kind. The hotel (from the lobby, dinning area, rooms, and pools was clean, beautiful and easily accessible
- 5/5
Good rooms very spacious except bathroom was small considering we had a suite
- 3/5
As for the interior our floor smelled like mold. Our room smelled the same. We had to ask housekeeping if they can spray our room as it smelled awful. We had to contact front desk as the tub wasn’t draining the tub when showering. Maybe, they need to remove the carpets and upgrade the rooms.
- 2/5
We just returned from a 4 night stay at Cabana Bay Resort. The room we stayed in had a strong odor that gave me a headache. I made the front desk aware of the situation and told them we were leaving the room while they tried to figure out what was going on. The second night I still noticed the strong smell so they tried changing the air filter. We had to leave the hotel a few times because my headache was so strong due to the smell. Upon check out I asked if there was any compensation for the times we had to leave and the inconvenience of the smell to which I was told I could have a free coffee voucher. I was disappointed with the customer service.
- 4/5
Great theming, helpful staff, slight damage to the bed in the room, wake up calls were fun. Thanks for having us.
- 3/5
For me the hotel is too expensive not to see breakfast included
- 5/5
It was great. There was plenty of stuff to keep the kids busy direct by route to the parks with great
- 5/5
They let you bring in your own food, and you can leave and re-enter on the same day. It’s excellent—very clean and very beautiful. My kids had a wonderful time. Thank you.
- 5/5
Wonderful. Clean room spacious, staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended
- 3/5
First, if you're assigned a room facing or near Volcano Bay, be prepared for a lot of noise. The music, screams, and general activity from the park can be extremely loud and continue late enough to make it difficult to relax or sleep. If you're a light sleeper, I highly recommend requesting a room away from the water park. My biggest frustration, however, was the experience trying to retrieve an item I accidentally left in my room after checkout. I returned to the hotel only about 30 minutes later, expecting a quick process, but due to poor communication between staff members, what should have taken a few minutes ended up taking over an hour. I was told to wait in one location for security, waited about 20 minutes, and no one arrived. When I followed up, I was directed to the front desk, then told to meet security at the room on the opposite side of the property. After making that trip, nobody was there. I was then told I needed to return to security again. The lack of coordination was incredibly frustrating and resulted in a major delay. Because of the lost time, I had to rush directly to the airport, couldn't stop to refill my rental car, and ended up paying over $200 in additional rental car fees, including a late return charge.
- 5/5
The whole experience was great for me and my family. Property was just minutes away from everything restaurants, shopping and parks. Pool activities on resort were also a thing lol. Hot tub nights with new friends we made on resort was cool as well.
- 5/5
Very clean and updated room! Everything smelled and looked fresh and kept very nice. Loved the amenities and never had any issues with noise or smell!
- 5/5
I really loved Cabana Bay! The pools are excellent - a large pool on one side of the hotel (with sand to mimic the beach), an awesome lazy river, a hot tub, and a sand play area. On the other side of the hotel is another large pool, with an awesome slide. Besides the pools, my other favorite part is the cafeteria. The cafeteria has 3 restaurants in there, an international (I kept ordering the shrimp lo mein and mojo half chicken 3 days in a row), a burger and fries place, and a pasta/pizza place. They also had an ice cream/shake place that seemed popular with long lines both times we tried to go so instead we got the DIY frozen yogurt machine both times since we were in a hurry. The dining area is huge and they have large screens playing videos from the 1950s, it is a really nice touch with the 50’s theming at the hotels. They also have an arcade, bowling alley, and gym room, but I didn’t visit those. We stayed at the beachside building which seemed well maintained and it was close to the pool and lazy river and sand areas.

- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
It was excellent, clean, friendly staff and good food. Furniture and outdoor lights could have been updated but overall great visit!
- 5/5
Will be coming back! My children and I had a wonderful time!
- 5/5
We loved the suites, they were very clean and spacious. I originally had a two queen room, it was minimalist to the extreme,I did not care for it so I upgraded.
- 5/5
The only drawback was the customer service experience before our arrival. A few days prior to check-in, I called the resort to confirm our reservation details and bedding arrangements. However, I was told they could not assist me because the reservation had been booked through Expedia. I have traveled frequently and have never encountered this issue before, as other hotels have always been willing to verify reservation details regardless of the booking platform. (Booked through Expedia.)
- 5/5
The hotel, staff, and the amenities are great!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
We didn’t spend much time at the hotel but the time we did it was great. Had everything you need. Pools were great and lazy river was cool with view of Volcano Bay. Cool retro style. Budget friendly though it doesn’t feel like it’s a budget hotel. Buses to the parks were easy to catch and quick. I don’t have a single complaint.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
- 5/5
Recommend best resort
- 5/5
Lazy river was the best part. I will stay here again!
- 4/5
Okay - hotel was decent. Food - meh. Proximity to the park was doable, but I’d recommend the shuttle versus walking. My only real complaint, if you can call it that, was the distance from our hotel to the shuttle and front entrance and the shampoo, conditioner and zest bar soap. Ick. Aside from that it was good.
- 5/5
Clean room and the shuttle to the park
- 4/5
Loved the pools, bowling ally, game room, and ice cream shop. Its definitely a family friendly hotel, everything is over priced, but I wouldn't expect anything differently. .The rooms are very dated, the headboard were missing vinyl. The beds were more comfortable then they looked. Unless you like VO5 bring your own shampoo & conditioner. They do not offer lotion or any extra items. This is not a hotel where you will be pampered. There were young adults or teens with blankets sleeping in the isle by the game room (which was weird), but fun.
- 4/5
It was quite nice and the park was very nice and easy to get to.
- 2/5
Cuarto en fin muchas cosas pero el staff amablemente me ayudo
- 5/5
Great experience from check in to check out. Truly recommend it and I am looking forward to booking again.
- 5/5
Very nice llace
- 4/5
Very pleasant stay.
- 4/5
I’ve stayed here before and will continue to when I visit Florida. Some recommendations I have are the pillows definitely could use an upgrade definitely feel like they were a little worn out and deflated. I feel like you shouldn’t charge someone to float down the lazy river this should be included in the cost of staying maybe put a hold on a card if you want the floaties back and if you don’t get them then charge the guest but if it’s returned then the guest shouldn’t be charged. Love the transportation to universal and it’s a short walk as well. The $300 dining credit was a huge incentive. Only main issue I had was when I called for towels I had to call again and almost wait 2 hours to get them that was really only the main issue I had this time around. Hopefully you all read this review and it wasn’t a waste of my time as my next trip down we will most likely be staying here again and hope to see some of my suggestions implemented.
- 5/5
great
- 5/5
Great customer service. Will return during my next stay.
- 5/5
The atmosphere was so friendly and non stressful. Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable a really nice place to stay for a great vacation.
- 5/5
This was a great place to relax and enjoy our vacation.
- 3/5
The pool area is very nice and clean. The hallways were kept clean also. The only downside to this hotel was the staff!!! We stayed here for 5 nights and had to fight with staff everyday to get our room cleaned and never once did they come! We had to leave the garbage outside (dirty diapers and all left in front of door) you go out all day come back tired and want to come back to a clean room.. that’s not the case here! We would come back and have to call up front desk and they kept saying they were behind and we were next and nobody ever came and cleaned the rooms! It was terrible. And forget about asking for extra towels or anything’ it would take them over 4 hours and 10 phone calls later. Other than that the pool area is fun and nice. Make sure you book at one of the towers because those rooms are more nicer and newer. The location itself thou is prime. Close to everything. Would we stay here again? Nah
- 5/5
The resort truly has so much to offer. We stayed for 2 nights, and honestly, it still wasn’t enough time to experience everything. We would definitely come back again in the future. We ate at the grill restaurant near the bar, which was conveniently located close to our room. The food was delicious with great Mexican flavor, the kids loved it, and the portions were large enough to feed 2–3 people. The kids had an amazing time at the lazy river, the large pool, and even the slide. Housekeeping also went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Overall, we were very happy with our stay with our 4 kids and would absolutely recommend it to other families!
- 5/5
Good for the money
- 4/5
My only quibble was that the housekeeping was not consistent. Things were clean but sometimes we didn't get facecloths or bath mats. Also not much in the way of toiletries, like body wash, are provided so you have to know to bring your own stuff.
- 5/5
Family of 5 with conjoined room. Our rooms were nice, spacious and clean. Separate rooms for bathroom and shower with 2 sinks was great.Hotel big so had to use the map they give you to navigate. Pools were nice. Starbucks inside hotel was a bonus. Restaurant was ok, fast food. Shuttles right outside was convenient to get back and forth to parks. Close to airport. We would stay at a universal hotel again. Thank you.
- 5/5
I love the retro vibe of the resort. The location is very convenient; located within walking distance using the walking pathway to City walk. Having volcano bay 2 minutes away was a bonus. The buses run regularly without much of a wait.
- 5/5
- 5/5
went there for a short family trip and stayed here to go to Universal Epic - the resort and pool were fantastic. they had great food options to choose from. would stay there again
- 5/5
My favorite place in the world. Smells amazing and has everything you need. Pool/lazy river, bowling, arcade, gym, shop, huge food court, ice cream shop, and laundry!
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
Lovely hotel and good food
- 5/5
100% recommend this property. You can access the park one hour early and have the bus services to take you to the parks.
- 5/5
Everything great!
- 4/5
Seeing that this hotel is themed in the 50's and 60's time era I did not think I would be a fan, but it was the most reasonably priced one out of all the Universal Resorts so I gave it a shot. I am so happy I did! The atmosphere was wonderful! with the dining room playing old commercials to the music, there is also an ice cream shop. They have the biggest gym and arcade I have ever seen in a hotel, they also had character visits in the lobby and a good size souvenir store. The hotel had plenty of choices for dinner and breakfast, the portion sizes of meals were good size. The staff from the front desk, to housekeeping and storing our baggage were all super friendly! I liked the walking distance to Volcano Bay. The shuttles to the parks and City Walk were consistent and convenient. My only suggestion to the hotel would be that when housekeeping is doing their daily turndown service is to check the levels of the conditioner and shampoo as we ran out on day two. The hotel is not in walking distance to any stores which you can pretty much get anything in their souvenir shop or food area but be prepared to pay. Early admission to the parks was definitely a plus. My two grown boys who are 18 and 25 really enjoyed the hotel and we would definitely stay there again!

This was a clean, well-maintained mid-level resort. The mid-century vibe runs deep, from the building design and fixtures all the way to the Zest soap and Alberto Vo5 shampoo in the showers! Like all hotels, if you plan to ask for any special room accommodations, make sure to book directly through Universal as third party sites do not communicate special requests. We asked for three rooms together, and one of our rooms was at the other end of the hallway. The hotel is clearly a bit older. The food court was really good, with a lot of great options; we mostly ate breakfast there. If you want to use the lazy river, you have to bring or buy your own tubes—the adult-sized tube is $26. Overall it was a great stay at a cute hotel!
- 4/5
Hotel was really clean. I felt a little outdated, but everything was clean. I went to celebrate My Nephew‘s 21st birthday at Universal Studios. The bus system to the parks was so convenient. They run every 10 minutes and just so convenient. Wish the checkout was a little longer than 12 o’clock, but other than that everything was great here staff is friendly. Pool is clean and worth every penny.

Amazing to stay another day
- 5/5
Muy lindo muy limpio muy bueno excelente
- 5/5
Lo mejor para vacaciones
- 5/5
Hotel was nice. Love how they have restaurants and a Starbucks. Arcade & bowling alley.
- 5/5
We had an amazing time. Love this resort

Nice place to stay. Area where the lazy river is located feels more like a party spot. A lot of younger generation running around and drinking. The side where the water slide is a lot more calmer and relaxed. The only issue I had was my son accidentally purchased two movies on the tv costing us $25 each. He didn’t even watch it, so be careful those with children as these can rack up without even knowing. This is the last thing you want to think about when vacationing. Kids should be able to select a tv show to watch without parents needing to be there confirming what they are selecting. Or at least be given the option when checking in to purchase videos first. Over all, it was clean, convenient and there was a lot of food options. Would stay here again!
- 4/5
No breakfast/parking is difficult/difficult to find buiding
- 5/5
Everything was perfect no complaints at all!!!!!
- 2/5
Disappointing Food Ruined an Otherwise Nice Stay. I hope management improves the kitchen standards and food quality control.
- 5/5
Great experience! Bus service to Universal resorts was fast and easy. Close drive to Disney properties. Resort area was clean with plenty to do. Pools were great! Food service at resort was convenient. Food was average but worth it for ease. Conner and Kathryn were great at check in and throughout stay. Texting feature was great for any questions or needs that arose. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
My family enjoyed our mini vacation getaway for Memorial Day weekend. They have amazing pizza for a decent pizza(family size pizza for 26) still had three slices left over for the next day . They have a lazy river on site as well as a regular pool and it stays right next to volcano bay resort you can literally walk there no need for transportation. They have shuttles to near by universal parks . Parking is a 26 dollar fee per night . They also have laundry on site if you are crazy about making sure clothes are cleaned and washed just in case you didn’t bring enough .
- 5/5
We had a great stay, everyone was pleasant and clean rooms.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. We had the best time! Room was very clean. The many options for food on property was a plus! I can’t tell if my kids enjoyed Universal or the pools at Cabana Bay more. Would absolutely choose to stay here again!
- 5/5
Amazing staff had a great time. I’ve stayed at most of Universal resort and this one has so far been one of my favorites. Can’t wait to go back.
- 5/5
Everything is very nice, but there are staff members in the lobby who lack the professional ethics to serve customers.
- 5/5
We love staying at Cabana Bay. It close to the parks and a great value for the money.
- 4/5
Convienent locations. Rooms a little dated…. Air not strong, tub slow to drain. Staff was great though and it was clean.
- 5/5
Great place for the whole family
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
A great hotel, but needs a little tlc as it’s getting a little rough round the edges. Great amenities, a buses.
- 4/5
This resort is wonderful, family oriented and amazing staff from beginning to end. We arrived 4 hours earlier than expected and we were still able to check into our room. The guests are very polite, friendly and nice. Some guests who were leaving passed on their arcade cards and pool floaters. The shake bar, lazy river, pools, fire pits bowling etc were amazing! 💕💕
- 5/5
Room was clean and in working order. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. The grounds were clean and easy to navigate.
- 5/5
Very convenient. My son and I had a great time.
- 5/5
Nice visit and clean room. Would stay again
- 5/5
BAD BED
- 5/5
Everything was first class.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Overall very good. The cafeteria far exceeded my expectations. Food very good. Very friendly staff. This is the third time we stayed here and never disappointed
- 4/5
Great place to stay for universal and epic parks. The pools were great and the property has lots of good food options and bowling. The actual rooms were ok at best. We stayed in a family suite in one of the buildings by the pool (I think called outdoor access room) and it was right on the freeway and was very loud. It was crammed for a family of five but would be ok for four or less. The beds were comfortable but pull-out sofa was rock hard.
- 5/5
This property is awesome. We stayed here for Mother’s Day and this has to be one of the best properties in Orlando. Clean, unique and location is convenient. They have complimentary buses that take you to the parks. Staff is pleasant and welcoming. Great resort!
- 5/5
Couldn’t recommend cabana bay more. Great facilities, from food and drink options to the amazing pools with always being able to get beds. The walk to volcano bay is so quick and also walking to city walk is super easy. Would highly recommend staying here for the price point. The only small downside is the car parking charge (if you have a car) but with the transport to the parks it does even it out to not have to pay to park at the parks.
- 5/5
We really enjoy our big boy birthday weekend at Cabana bay. They have Starbucks in the lobby, breakfast was freshly made in front of you, same as dinner. Staff was very nice. The room was ok
- 4/5
Easy park access!
- 5/5
Very modern furnishings and color. Clean and fresh rooms and lobby areas. An array of food options for everyone. The best outdoor activities and pool areas.
- 5/5
Food was not the best but everything else was amazing. Shuttles were convenient, pool was clean and warm.
- 5/5
great stay
- 3/5
The 26$ per day for parking is a bit steep. Especially for us Canadians who have to convert. The rooms are showing their wear. I’ve been there when they first opened and there doesn’t seem to be any room updates. Hot water in shower was an issue, broken closet door. Bathroom very dated and worn.
- 4/5
Stayed for the weekend after coming off a cruise for some extra fun and sun. Pools were excellent and so was the frozen drinks pool side. Food was ehh. Not the best. Diner was good. Many choices for food and drinks and snacks. Bowling was fun and worth the price. I will come again with family and best spot if visiting any parks.
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful, kind, and accommodating! The 2 queen room was plenty big for 2 adults and 1 child. Wish there were more dresser drawers for clothes. The material on the headboards had been peeled off in a few places. We stayed for 9 nights and our sheets were only changed the night before we left. (My daughter had spilled a little bit of her drink which left a small stain on the sheet so we could tell the bedding was the same.) Overall it was a pleasant stay and would visit again.
- 1/5
Nothing
- 5/5
Good hot meal options at reasonable prices. The chef created gluten and dairy free chicken tenders and there were other gluten sensitive options such as soy sauce for the rice. The family suite was great. We needed a very firm bed for one family mbr and the fold out coach did a great job plus the sliding divider made it feel like 2 bedrooms. The kitchenette was handy with a very large bar fridge. Having a sink, toilet, and shower each in their own seperate rooms was also handy for our group. We had a family suite with an exterior entrance that had a parking lot view which was great as their was less foot traffic by our room and we could see fireworks from our window at night.
- 5/5
Breakfast and other meal options were delicious and fast.
- 3/5
Breakfast was great, pool was ok but so many rules, kids were geeting told not to throw squishy balls to play catch. Then pool was shut down for an hour.
- 4/5
Food and staff was wonderful. Only thing was not enough hot water.
- 4/5
Bien
- 4/5
Les falta mejorar un poco más las instalaciones
- 5/5
I love this hotel very nice clean and great place to stay with family
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
This was our second stay at Cabana Bay. The shuttles to the parks, the dedicated entrance to Volcano Bay and diner are convenient. The pools were great for a break in visiting the parks.
- 5/5
The food was great but most of all we had made a mistake but customer service was amazing at rectifying the issue
- 5/5
We really enjoyed the pools and the bar area, and the entire resort had such a fun retro theme that made the experience unique and memorable. The hotel is extremely family-friendly, well maintained, and still in incredible shape. Everything felt clean, vibrant, and welcoming. This is definitely a great place for families visiting Universal Orlando Resort, and we would absolutely stay here again!
- 5/5
It’s a great place to stay!!
- 5/5
Fantastic location with great amenities. Food could use a little help but it's there if you need it.
- 4/5
Rooms were perfect, food was not the most affordable but much cheaper than at the parks. Staff was mostly great, I’d say half are very friendly the other half and kind of rude… But still helpful and overall fine.
- 3/5
We recently stayed at Cabana Bay and overall had a decent experience. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. However, the housekeeping and room maintenance could definitely use some improvement. Our bathtub was dirty when we arrived, there was noticeable discoloration in the corner of the bathroom, and a dirty towel had been left hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The rooms also felt a little outdated. They weren’t terrible by any means, but they could benefit from some updates and better attention to cleanliness. Overall, the customer service was great, but the condition of the room left room for improvement.
- 5/5
I enjoy everything
- 5/5
nice place
- 5/5
Love the amenities and how cl9de itnu
- 5/5
I don’t like that they charge parking.
- 4/5
Gael Hernandez was exceptional not only at check-in but also at check-out. Our room was very clean however it was dated and needed maintenance before we checked in. We had the pot light hanging from the ceiling, the fridge door not opening properly, scratched up bedboards, and one of the lights not working by the sink. Apparently if you book directly and not via Expedia, complimentary upgrades are common and reception asks where you’d like your room to be. It was not offered to us even though we are returning guests, I suspect this is because we booked via Expedia. We requested a quiet room and still got assigned a room facing the courtyard where noise was nightly sometimes past midnight. I slept with my earbuds.
- 4/5
I liked having dining options on the property that were open late
- 5/5
Perfect choice for all ages and group sizes. It's everything you need for a Universal vacation. Amenities were excellent, we neer had to wait for a shuttle to the Parks, we had early park admission with our stay, staff were friendly and welcoming, Starbucks staff were great and wait for food/drinks was minimal. Check in was easy and very welcoming even at 1 a.m.! Only down side is that breakfast is not included. We will be back for sure!
- 5/5
Everything else was really good.
- 4/5
Clean room, nice pool, good food options (starbucks, diner, bars ).
- 5/5
Room was clean, food options great, pool was nice.
- 5/5
The Thunderbird wing of Cabana Bay was perfect for us: quick access to the walking path to IOA for EPA, easy access to the smaller pool (with the water slide, not the lazy river), and still very close to the lobby for walk-through (cool!) access to and from the park buses. We could not figure out the "quick access" to the boats at nearby Sapphire Falls, but that might be on us...we were tired from a long day of travel! In general, everything at Universal Orland Resort was much closer together than we expected, and very easy to navigate. Cabana Bay enhanced our experience, and was a great place for our first on-property stay at Universal!
- 5/5
Great choices reminded me of college cafeteria/campus a lot of things to do, great gym and pool options. Honestly there is nothing bad I can say and the staff text me to see if we needed anything taken to our room. It was great, if I had to give one bad thing would only be that I had to pay for parking but they do provide a bus to take you to the parks so that makes up for it since you don’t have to pay attraction parking fees.
- 5/5
Very convenient if you’re heading Volcano Bay loved walking right there. Surprisingly the Food Court was above our expectations. Highly recommend.

We love this hotel!! My husband and I stayed here one night and already want to return. Great price and the hotel is themed so well. The cafe restaurant was really good and so many options, and love the pool and lazy river! The bed was sooo good too. Crazy 6 people could sleep in a room! We’ll be back
- 5/5
Pleasant staff, rooms clean
- 5/5
The cafe had something for everyone. The pool and hot tub were nice.
- 5/5
great
- 1/5
Had a security issue with the pool staff being very intimidating to my family. The hotel did assist me in rebooking at a near by hotel.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Big variety of food for breakfast and lunch nice pools very clean hotel smells freah and clean bed comfortable and my view amazing will be back to this resort .
- 5/5
We enjoyed our time and the location being next to Volcano Bay was a huge plus. The service was great and the room was clean and had great water pressure in the shower
- 5/5
Room was clean property was nice. Did not like the fact that you had to purchase a tube for the lazy river and our building was quite the hike to anywhere but overall a nice property to stay
- 5/5
From the moment we got to Cabana Bay it was all positive! Check in staffer Jonathan was amazing! Great conversationalist, quick and friendly! We even got a free upgrade on room and view! Room was clean. Pool had plenty of seating in spite of the typical chair hogs. Lifeguards were plenty and attentive. Security was great and key cards were needed to get into the pool area. Fitness center was well equipped! Beautiful resort. Would recommend 10/10 and will be back.
- 4/5
Enjoyed shuttle. Felt pools overcrowded and expensive for amenities.
- 5/5
Wow, the view from my room was amazing, especially for my little girl. The room was clean, and they have a lot of activities right at the same location. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again! Even you don’t have to go in the check out it’s automatic, and I can enjoy the pool and all the activities until 12am
- 5/5
The people were wonderful and the gentleman at the check in desk helped us plan our visist to the park to plan around the buisiest times.
- 4/5
Everything was nice
- 5/5
The staff works very hard to keep rooms up and area's clean. The food is average but service is very good. You have access to great pool area's and bars and direct transportation to Universal attractions. It's an excellent spot to take a vacation with our without children.
- 5/5
Loved the retro details down to the soap bars and shampoo bottles. Cool ! A trip through time. Lively. Awesome extensive pools and minutes away to Universal parks by shuttle
- 5/5
Such a hospitable place! You’re truly taken care of. And the text line instead of calling? GENIUS!!
- 5/5
Very nice stay!
- 5/5

Love our stay here. Great amenities and staff
- 5/5
Great trip all together
- 5/5

- 5/5
Had a great time and would definitely go back
- 4/5
Algunas habitaciones quedan a minutos caminando.
- 5/5
Great place to stay with the family
- 5/5
Come here twice a year no complaints
- 5/5
Cabana bay was a great resort. So many amenities. The lazy river and pools were fantastic. We bought some tubes at Walmart and took them down to the pool everyday with us. You can also purchase them at the resort. What impressed me the most was the lifeguard staff. So many practice drills everyday and they were all so dialed in and focused on their job. The resort was clean with lots of food options. It was also centrally located to all major attractions
- 5/5
I loved the character of the place. Very easy to get everywhere on my scooter. Staff was very patient answering ALL of my questions for my first time staying there. And I got a picture with Woody Woodpecker!!! I'll be back for sure.
- 5/5
I miss being there.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Excellent hotel
- 5/5
The pools, while busy, were great! The only thing we didnt kniw ahead of time was the charge for floats at the lazy river. Everything else was awesome!
- 5/5
The room was clean. The staff was amazing and the characters in the lobby made the whole trip.
- 5/5
El mejor lugar para disfrutar en familia el personal muy amable
- 3/5
it’s not too bad if you wanna save money.
- 5/5
Yea not very Cabana like.
- 5/5
Everybody was super sweet and helpful
- 3/5
Check in was amazing, great personality and very informative. Diner staff and room staff came off upset and mad when they worked. They definitely did not want to be there. The rooms were ok, need better maintenance. They need to add body soap and better shampoo products as they made our skin very dry.
- 4/5
I was shocked to learn that there was no recycling of can and bottles. Do better for the earth please!
- 5/5
Absolutely perfect place to stay with children!!!!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
This is a nice property that has two pools, one on each side of the property. One pool has a water slide and kid area. The other pool has a lazy river. There is an on site cafeteria that has 4 restaurants in it, which is decent and kid friendly. There is also a bowling alley, gift shop and Starbucks on site. Volcano Bay water Park is connected to the property and you get early entry if you stay at the hotel. Transportation to Universal, islands of adventure, and epic universe is on property, easy to use and is free. There is a charge for parking. If you stay here 5 or more nights, you get a food credit which was enough to cover food costs for the entire stay for 2 adults. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you are going to Universal and don't mind a lot of kids running around. I personally don't mind the chaos kids bring, but I know some do so thought I'd mention it. The staff were all excellent from the front desk, to the room attendants to the cafeteria. In fact, the staff is probably their greatest asset and the reason I added an extra day. I didn't really think of it until doing this review but the staff is actually why I enjoyed myself there the most. I never had or heard a single negative thing about any of the staff the entire week I was there. That's extraordinary. Yeah, even with all the amenities, the staff was actually the highlight of the property for me.
- 5/5
loved it!
- 5/5
This place has everything under one roof. It’s very inexpensive, and safe.
- 3/5
The food options was an issue for me at the location . Keep in mind the city walk has the best options for food. It also closes at 1am.
- 4/5
Shuttle was fantastic. Easy and driver was very accommodating. Comfortable ride. Would do again. Rooms are clean but dated and furniture not really comfortable
- 5/5
Get location with lots of great amenities.
- 5/5
Clean and Fun for kids
- 5/5
- 5/5
Food was expensive but reasonable with credit
- 5/5
Amamos estar en este hotel, siempre que regresamos a Orlando es nuestra primera opción, sientes la emoción en cada esquina.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
Hotel ambiance was AWESOME the only complaint I have it the water in the lazy River had a lot of debris! Another than that we had and AWESOME TIME I would definitely book again!!!
- 5/5
I would stay again
- 4/5
Very clean, helpful staff, however food was lacking, several mornings the chai seed coconut pudding was not replenished in a timely manner, also the hotel advertised Honolulu Hawaiian hot dogs but when I went to order I was told they are discontinued, I was given an overpriced theme park hot dog equivalent to a 7-11 big bite. Had the food been better I would have rated excellent instead of good
- 5/5
This place was amazing. The staff was extraordinary, the property was so fun, the pools were warm and clean, and the food options were really family friendly and easy. Our room was spacious, and the beds pretty darn comfortable. Highly recommend to anyone who is planning a trip to Universal - the early access and shuttle buses made our trip!
- 3/5
Internet and cell phone service were awful. Staff was great and shuttle service/convience was good. Amenities were awesome. Food and beverage was very expensive
- 5/5
The pools, dining options, and overall convenience to everything made this a fantastic place to stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Cabana Bay to anyone visiting the area!
- 5/5
There was a small technical blip with their computer system at check-in, but the staff handled it professionally and remained friendly and helpful throughout. It didn’t take away from the overall experience at all. The pools, dining options, and overall convenience to everything made this a fantastic place to stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Cabana Bay to anyone visiting the area!
- 5/5
Enjoyable experience
- 4/5
Staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Cabana Cay really thought of their guests. Our family suite was provided with food utensils and all.Oh how we loved our room! very nice and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool, the arcade, and overall the place. Other than that, concierge needs to smile more :)
- 3/5
It was a clean place. Food was ok. My room key and the replacement I got only worked for our room. It did not work for any of the gates or pool area. Bowling area is very expensive and it would have been nice for the charges to be disclosed. Phone in the room didn’t work. The family suite was set up nicely. The shuttle to universal was nice. Probably worth the cost in the long run. I was disappointed because the extras I thought we could do at the resort were priced as such that it was not feasible. Bowling would have been $125 for 45 min for our family of 5.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, decent food in food court, terrific lobby bar, fun atmosphere.
- 5/5
Checkin was a bit long… housekeeping has a “unique” schedule. But highly recommend staying here. Very retro vibes; awesome bowling alley and heated lazy river. I will be back. Wish the old cars were out front though- only the Ford was there. Watched the flat 12 garage drop them off in 2015 on the car chasers. How I discovered this gem of a resort.
- 3/5
Hotel not as pictured. This was definitely more like a motel. The rooms were damp and not that clean. Staff were not helpful. Outdated.
- 4/5
The check in process was unsatisfactory. We didn’t get in our room until 5pm after because key machine was down. There should have been a better system in place
- 5/5
Great resort! Friendly, clean and close to parks!
- 5/5
Clean, great value, park transportation was a plus, staff was very kind
- 2/5
Shower heads need major updating, beds are stiff, updated toilets, better food.
- 5/5
Room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was amazing.
- 3/5
Unable to enter room. No one come after calling reception 4 times. Rude customer service.
- 5/5
This hotel offer you a good amenities, has a good location to universal theme parks. The room, pool and food court are amazing.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Helpful staff, fairly reasonably priced food and lots to choose from. The facility was clean and in a great location.
- 4/5
Clean room, plenty to do. Easy transportation to parks.
- 5/5
Our room was a good size, everything was a short distance. Food was good and really big portions compared to Disney’s. Bus system was quick and easy. Only complaint is that sometimes our room key would not work for opening gate to the pool and elevator. Will definitely stay here again. Was worth it for us!
- 4/5
2nd time staying here. Great experience. Staff is always very friendly.
- 3/5
Resort is tired. Rooms are tired. Time for a refresh. Staff is friendly.
- 4/5
The room was very clean. The staff at check-in were excellent.
- 5/5
Room, proximity, and staff are all amazing
- 5/5
The hotel was big, bright and fun! Very friendly staff! Lots to do there! The pools were fun, cocktails yummy, tons of food options and the shuttles to citywalk made the trip super easy! Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Amazing ! We stayed 10 days. Kids loved the pool and the lazy river. Room was clean, comfortable, well maintained. Friendly staff. Food was ok but adequate. Overlal - a very relaxing, enjoyable vacation
- 5/5
Room was great , food was good!
- 5/5
The decor!! The mid century modern kitchyness is very well done: Vo5 shampoo bottles in the shower! the vintage bowling alley, the chandeliers- such an experience. Loved the 'Diner' with jumbo 'TV' screens playing video of old, old, old commercials. Staff is understanding & kind, even as we have so many questions, lol
- 5/5
great pool
- 5/5
Cool
- 5/5
The resort is always clean and the staff is friendly.
- 4/5
90 percent of the staff was excellent. Check-in, bartenders, Volcano Bay help desk, maids, maintenance and luggage people all greeted and welcomed when we saw them. Most of the food service people were good (everyone at Starbucks incredible) but of all the places we ate and drank I would rate as Atomic Tonic as the best food w/good service. next is the Shake shop and the Hideaway behind. Farther down is the Galaxy Bowl although food and drinks were good we had to track down our service persons to pay (Both Times!). Finally the Pizza place in the Bayliner Diner was the lowest with meh pizza and pasta and a service person that behaved like she hated being there and was pretty non communicative (like at a fast food place elsewhere). Not bad but in comparison not so great. Fun time overall.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel love it
- 5/5
Excellent room. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient to all the adventures.
- 4/5
Fun stay but somewhat outdated and in need of some upgrades.
- 1/5
The employee kept repeating the phrase “if I’m being completely honest” so repeatedly that it sounded as though she was AI. We were too tired and didn’t have the energy to “demand” rooms together so after they claimed there was nothing they could do we just took what they offered. But- I do want to pass along the feedback now how extremely inconvenient and disappointing this experience was as we were only there for 2 nights and this really put a damper on our experience.
- 5/5
A
- 5/5
This place was even better than I imagined !! This is a real Florida vacation it was amazing
- 3/5
The rooms needed updating. Very old and smelled bad.
- 5/5
The feel of the place was amazing
- 5/5
Everything. I had a wonderful stay.
- 3/5
The room was kind of dirty. The floor looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The toilet on the side had dried vomit on it. When we would go out to dinner nightly it was hard to get to the car because the giant crates of laundry were all in front of the gate to get in and out of the hotel area. The staff were kind. But you could clearly see their preformance was based on how much they are paid. Some just did not care.
- 4/5
Great stay! A lot of fun activities for the families to do together-hanging out at the pool, the bowling alley and the arcade weee great amenities to the resort. We way loved the bus that picked us up at the resort and transported us back and forth to Universal/Islands of Adventures and City Walk.
- 5/5
The staff were incredibly helpful especially Josh at check in.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff / very clean / nice pool
- 5/5
Room was very clean and comfy.

Room was clean, and shuttle buses to universal were excellent. Staff was friendly and onsite shops open late…great stay if going to universal!
- 3/5
There was a smell of cigarette every time I walked into the room. Other than that, a good resort to stay I guess .
- 5/5
We had a lot
- 5/5
Definitivamente volvemos!
- 5/5
We had two connecting family suites (sleeping 12 of us) -- rooms were great very clean. Food court was open early and late and reasonably priced. We took advantage of the early park admission. Staff very helpful...very pricey to buy tubes for lazy river experience, lucky I knew ahead of time to bring my own tubes (which we left behind for someone else to use). Pools and grounds were nice. Cosmic bowling is a little pricey, so we didn't take advantage of it (although we would have liked to)
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff!
- 4/5
Staff great, amenities very good. Rooms were clean. Surprised no one helped us with luggage to the room. Bus service to Epic Universe was very slow and inconsistent. The parks were amazing!
- 1/5
The staff support was a disappointment. My son $120 slides were stolen at the pool while he was in the pool and I was cleaning up our lunch in an area that was right near the pool. I went to security since there’s cameras there and they told me it will take a few days to investigate so luckily I had traveled with an extra pair of shoes. My biggest issue is the run around. I emailed with them for months about the reimbursement and they said they will send the check to Expedia after the 5th email which was odd but when I followed up about the check they decided to not respond. It’s been 7 months and still nothing I will never stay here again.
- 3/5
food was terrible, had to buy floaties for lazy river which is so worthless since we flew in and can't really take it back.
- 5/5
We enjjoyed our swtay immensly. The room was clean and serviced everydat. The location of the shops, pool, food was perfet
- 5/5
The room was clean , house keeping came everyday to tidy up and bring fresh towels. The amenities were endless. The best part is universal Studios in island of adventure was in walking distance. They had free shuttles that would bring you back-and-forth to all parks. If you didn’t want to walk the staff was extremely friendly. If you need a break between Park days, there’s plenty to do on the property bowling arcade, lazy river waterslide, movie night, character meet and greet.
- 5/5
This is a fantastic resort within easy walking distance of Universal Studios. The room was very large and included a very nicely laid out kitchenette. The pools at the facility are top flight and would be great for a family. There was plenty of easy parking in the check-in and checkout process was very simple.
- 5/5
The hotel stuff was lovely and very helpful. My daughters also loved their pool facilities and the onsite Starbucks.
- 5/5
Great overall experience, will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Excellent resort! Great food. We loved the pools and lazy river.
- 5/5
This hotel has so much to offer. Restaurants, shops, bowling, arcade, pool, fire pits, free luggage storage, free shuttle to Universal Parks, and early park admission is included with stay. A bonus the room key is personalized with your name so it's a cool souvenir. Every staff member we encounted was so nice! We loved our whole stay here.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room, amazing amenities (pool, arcade, bowling, lazy river - so many things to do), park shuttles, food options, and very friendly and helpful staff.
- 3/5
First of two stays in 3 months. Location is amazing with transportation to the parks. The front desk staff are great. The pool is nice. The house cleaning staff needs help. My room shouldn’t be uncleaned at 7pm.
- 3/5
Staff at the front desk were great. The room cleaning staff was horrible. 5 nights and my room was cleaned 1 time. The rest of the time the room cleaning staff had to be asked for towels and I had to take out my own trash.
- 5/5
Everything here is wonderful! Room. Staff. Vibe. Proximity to everything. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Great experience overall
- 5/5
Hotel and room are clean, spacious and beautiful. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast food court was very convenient as well. Lots of buses to the parks so never waited long at all.
- 4/5
Room was clean & staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Hotel rooms were basic but clean. Nice pool area - good for kids. Dining options were limited to mediocre, pricey, fast food, served cafeteria style. Location was convienent
- 5/5
Great hotel for the price, the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, walking distance to the original theme park parks
- 5/5
The amenities were excellent.
- 5/5
Clean room, great food choices and friendly staff at check in.
- 5/5
Clean room and courteous staff
- 4/5
I expected more from the room! The atmosphere is very old!
- 5/5
Free upgrade to a family suite - clean room, easy access to parks and great pool area
- 5/5
It cannot get any Better than this Place. The room was spotless. The view was intense. The detail to the experience is twice over Disney. The Staff "Aida - went beyond what I have ever had in any hospitality environment" A+ - Lizzy & Gabby at 2am fulfilled my needs and beyond expectations. Payton took care of my family with security that was very appreciated. These 4 I would Hire/Recruit from universal in a heartbeat.
- 3/5
Room was good, service was excellent, shuttles to parks were good and convenient, but prices are ridiculous. They make you BUY a tube at the lazy river…go to Walmart first! $26/day for self parking? As if Universal wasn’t expensive enough, the hotel just gouges you more.
- 5/5
Overall service was excellent!
- 3/5
Did appreciate the shuttle service to both City Walk and Epic Universe which is one of the reasons we chose to stay at a Universal Property.
- 5/5
Great location, walking preferred about a 20 min walk to Universal.
- 5/5
Clean room and shuttle bus to Universal Studios
- 5/5
The little food stand by the bar had ok food. All of the staff was wonderful and the shuttles were perfect!!
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
This is a family place.
- 3/5
Not enough restaurants
- 5/5
Very nice clean hotel amazing pools and staff
- 3/5
Room was not ready until 7:45om
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Top notch
- 4/5
Not a new hotel, but rooms and hallways are cleaned daily and it feels fresh. A lot of amenities, great for families with kids, great location, love the city walk.
- 4/5
Courteous staff
- 5/5
Room was always clean, everyone was super nice and helpful, the furniture in room maybe need to me replaced the couch was ripped up but other than that it was perfect
- 4/5
Overall very good. Very long wait to check in and our pool access ended at checkout (the cards werent working even though they said we should still have access). Food court is very expensive.
- 3/5
Pros: Easy transportation to the parks, beautiful lobby and other amenities, comfortable dinning areas, has a Starbucks inside. Overall nice but not great.
- 4/5
This is the place to stay if you have children! Game room, bowling, heated pools - plenty of entertainment. The food was not the best and over priced and served like a cafeteria. But other than that, great location and great place to stay.
- 5/5
Amenities were well maintained and spacious; pools, fitness center, bowling alley. They also threw a great New Year’s Eve party!
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Easy check in and luggage concierge for early arrival. Transportation availability was excellent and drivers were so courteous.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, neat decor
- 5/5
Perfect location for a family with young kids. Our children enjoyed all of the pool amenities including the water slide and the lazy river. The staff were very responsive to any requests/ questions. The location was walking distance to Universal Studios and Universal Island of Adventures. Glad we stayed here.
- 5/5
The only negativity is because the hotel did not place a timer on how long to stay in the hot tub, people hoarded the space and did not give others the opportunity to enjoy. We tried two days without success. Bummer because we were looking forward to enjoying the hot tub for 15-20 minutes and the going for a swim but did not happen.
- 4/5
Second time staying here. Cool looking retro-modern vibe, with some kitsch mixed in. Think mid century modern with a Jetsons décor. Pleasant helpful check-in staff, good transportation to Universal parks. Fun pools (2) and multiple food court options to eat on property, including Starbucks in lobby. Ample sized rooms available. We were upgraded to family pool view. Rooms starting to show some wear, mattresses lumpy, couch cushions overused. Would stay here again for budget friendly option.
- 3/5
· Maintenance & Repairs: The room showed clear signs of neglect. This included: · Damp/Mold: There was a persistent musty smell, and we noticed mold/mildew in the shower grout and around the bathroom ceiling. · Furnishings: Furniture was scuffed, wobbly, or damaged. Drawers were difficult to open. I feel like they need to improve a little everything. Everything looks old. It's only fair to note that the resort has a bus to take to Universal parks .The breakfast buffet had a decent variety, though the quality was inconsistent.
- 3/5
Park informstion more flexible with the park entry better help with luggae mor eknowledge staff
- 4/5
The location was great and amenities were good.
- 5/5
The cleanliness, the facilities, and their staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Theme was cute, staff was helpful. I love the text line to ask questions… that was super convenient. Shuttles to parks were great.
- 3/5
Hotel is outdated but staff is friendly . It’s super convenient for going to all the resorts but that’s about it. Rooms don’t get cleaned often and property isn’t maintained well. It’s quite outdated and they only open one of their two hot tubs for some reason so you can’t even go in because it gets way over crowded . But it’s good for the cost and convenience .
- 5/5
Super
- 1/5
Not fun
- 5/5
Room was great, loved the pool and lazy river, great location, food options, and transportation. We will be staying here again!
- 5/5
Great place
- 4/5
Good value
- 4/5
Nice accommodations, our room did not get serviced at all during our 4 night stay which was disappointing. Other than that, walking distance to city walk and two parks!
- 3/5
The view from room was amazing just didn't have good weather to go swimming. Bit definitely will be back.
- 5/5
Couple of things I wasn’t entirely pleased with, housekeeping staff seem understaffed. We stayed Friday to Monday and only one day did they service the room because they weren’t making it by our room until 4pm for service. The other thing was hot water. It was super finicky. Didn’t work at all one morning and then later that night it was cold for quite a while. Got hot, then had spurts of freezing water while showering. Hot water took several minutes to get to the sink as well.
- 5/5
Clean and organized
- 3/5
a good atmosphere with all of the dining options, bowling alley, arcade pools etc. the rooms are very small and if youre staying too far from the
- 2/5
We stayed for three nights, and during our entire stay the room was never cleaned. We spoke with a member of the housekeeping staff, who informed us that rooms are cleaned every other day; however, this never happened. The room was not serviced at all, and the towels were never changed. This was very disappointing, especially considering the amount of money we paid for this hotel. Overall, the experience was far below our expectations.
- 5/5
Clean room!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Great service with friendly and helpful staff. I forgot my bag on the bus and they found it right away. Excellent stay and we will come back
- 4/5
Amenities were good.
- 5/5
The stay was amazing
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 3/5
Terrible start with no room, delayed start of holiday. Room was not clean, furniture too well used. Not recommending either Expedia or the property.
- 5/5
We love this place. Arrive park car and let them take you where you want to go!
- 4/5
Very beautiful hotel A+

- 4/5
Clean facility, friendly and helpful staff, the lifeguarding is second to none, truly awesome.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and housekeeping text messages was perfect.
- 5/5
Place was okay, but it was a good stay. Having laundry was a plus!!!
- 4/5
Overall great experience but if checkin process can be enhanced, it will be helpful.
- 3/5
Positives: The hotel is very family friendly. It has great pools and a lazy river. The cafeteria style dining is easy and accessible. The all you can drink stations with a cabana bay purchased thermo mug is great. The family suite rooms are a good size. Easy to access the Universal parks via exclusive buses for guests. Very short distance to Universal walk. Negatives: The house keeping is not daily anymore. We stayed for 7 nights and only received a refresh of sheets and towels twice. The food stations have not improved or changed. We got tired of the food choices as they stay the same daily. I would recommend they consider a full service restaurant for guests for variety. Our room had a wet carpet smell from when we checked in, and we thought maybe the carpets were freshly cleaned. It turns out there was a leak and we detected it after our carpet was soaked in the closet area and it damaged a backpack and shoes resting there. We made a complaint, but the process to file a formal complaint was lengthy, and we didn’t have the time as we were checking out the same day. The hotel is always too cold! We needed sweaters to dine or to walk through the hotel at anytime, whether it was hot or cold outside, which is truly unacceptable. This will be our last visit, but we will continue to book other Universal hotels in the future.
- 5/5
Loved pools and lazy river
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Very convenient transportation
- 2/5
Food was not terrible for mass produced items.
- 5/5
Great to experience.
- 4/5
No breakfast, Fridge was not closing properly during our stay.
- 1/5
We had an unpleasant day over a Christmas holiday, which was quite expensive and which we had saved our money for for quite some time. On Christmas Eve, the water in the hotel didn’t work and when we went down to tell them, they said we could have free breakfast and then gave the next three or four people after us in line a free night. the room had mold in the showers and the service is only every other day with them cleaning and making up the room. With all that being said, we were extremely disappointed in our stay at cabana Bay outside of its accessibility to the parks and the opportunity for early entrance. We would not stay there again and would not recommend recommended unless it is the only universal hotel that would be within someone’s budget.
- 4/5
Cleanliness all-around
- 4/5
Estaba lloviendo y no se encuentra todo el hotel techado
- 3/5
Look I am a honest reviewer and I’ll first say the staff and security is awesome this place. Friendly and helpful always. The transportation is top notch quick bus access to and from the resorts no complaints at all. Now the complaints. If you like noisemakers and kids screaming and crying all hours of the night after you get back from 13hr park days this is not a place I would recommend. Tons of foreign families who let kids do whatever they want all hours of the night. We had to call security 5 times for a family to be told or warned to be quiet after 1130pm. Then still loud as the walls are paper thin. So we got moved to a better room less traffic and noise. Well not so much. Again kids running up and down the halls and babies crying from 3-7am non stop. The hotel has decent food and shops and Starbucks though but the building is 10 years old and the hallways are beach hell and the rooms though look nice it’s all cheap material.the pleather on beds peeling the bed covers are rough and thin. The beds are lumpy too. Overall the hotel was built cheaply and I see it will be gone in 10-15 years. Hallways had missing light shades too and god forbid u get a room on the 6th floor in the continental building it’s like a 12 min walk to the lobby. Furthermore if you get a room facing the pool or beach side of the resort the music plays all day and until 10pm at night. That means if you wanna sleep at night before say 9-10pm you will have top hits my is blaring until then. It Sucks!!!
- 5/5
Clean rooms! Great staff!
- 4/5
Room was clean and easy to use. No issue for hot water, which sometimes not enough temperature for other hotel.
- 5/5
This place is well worth every dollar spent. Pools are great walking distance to volcano bay, the shuttle service, great and friendly staff. Rooms were great. will for sure stay again.
- 5/5
It was a great stay

- 5/5
Staff was great! Our room was in a great location, and we greatly enjoyed our time there.
- 5/5
Nice and thoughtfully designed rooms
- 5/5
So much fun
- 4/5
We took shuttles to epic universe and to city walk. We also walked to the water taxi. All were very easy, and the security lines were short even during Christmas. The bedroom showed signs of wear and tear, but the beds themselves were comfortable. We easily heard the children in the room next-door so bring your earplug if you are a light sleeper like me! The Bayline Diner was convenient, but the food wasn’t great and we would’ve preferred more dining options on site.
- 5/5
I recommend this hotel to stay
- 4/5
Staff were courteous, east access to universal
- 3/5
Expensive food and drinks
- 4/5
Staff responded promptly.
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
From clean facilities, helpful and friendly staff, to great resort amenities! The short shuttle to Universal Parks were quick and I never waited for a shuttle. Multiple pools, hot tubs, and my favorite the lazy river this resort has a lot to do. Perfect place for a getaway all the bells and whistles and won’t break the bank!
- 5/5
All great !
- 4/5
Things not so great - walk to the room, we were in the Americana building the last one from reception, and got the last room. When visiting Universal, this can be inconvenient if you have kids
- 5/5
Great always stay there
- 1/5
Overcharged per person for a POOLSIDE get there & was told there are NO poolside rooms only pool VIEW. Was put on the 3rd floor. Expedia refused my payment adjustment & i have a bad leg so was stuck going to the 3rd floor all week. Parking is $20 a day. All the food is vending machine food just warmed up out the package. Canned chicken (pink) & added it to my Ceasar salad and called it a fajita chicken salad. It was $18 & can fit in your hand. My room sheets were not changed when I arrived so we ordered our own and changed our own sheets. How do I know? My son pulled his cover back and it was a cigarette lighter in the bed. The pull out couch had the same sheets still on them. So we just changed everything & re-sanitized the whole room. The family suite barely held us 3 people. Very tight space. 2 Queen beds & the bathroom is directly in front of the beds. No privacy door to separate the bathroom. Very over priced as many of the amenities/outle didn't work. You cant just take your kids to the bowling alley you have to make a reservation, good luck on that! Rented a Cabana for $200 & all the outlets went out including the TV for 6 hours one day. Was never compensated. They said all sales final. So we had to go to our rooms to charge devices & keep food/drinks cold. Also the Volcano Water park is in the parking lot walking distance but its no discount because you stay here. Its $90 per person including kids over 3. Be prepared to pay allot of extra money as nothing is included.
- 5/5
I love their hotels all around. Staff were great, anytime we needed something or directions they were happy to help. Love the bus transport, cafeteria, shops, and so much more they offered. Love the christmas decor which made it feel extra special.
- 5/5
NA
- 5/5
The staff were great, food is basic cafeteria style, beds were hard but we got a free upgrade that was awesome. We had a problem with tub draining but they quickly fixed it!
- 3/5
The room was not very clean and the housekeeping staff were unhelpful. The kids loved the pool. The onsite restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was good. The hideaway bar had really good food.
- 5/5
Comfortable rooms. Very nice staff
- 5/5
Food is not good
- 5/5
3d stay there. Great location and value.
- 5/5
Beautiful resort with swimming pool, lazy river and beautiful palm trees.
- 4/5
Ho
- 5/5
Amenities for kids. Great pool area and access to Volcano Bay.
- 5/5
The resort was lovely though. Everyone was in great spirits and very helpful. I love that it was easy, free access to city walk and the parks. My only real complaint is about how horrible the Food was in the resort. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANY OF THE DINNER FOOD AT CABANA BAY RESORT. Buy all your food at city walk.
- 5/5
Super clean. Super fun retro feel. Staff are above and beyond. So convenient to the parks. Neat “text a question or request” number provided.
- 3/5
Better food choices. Room was nice and clean.
- 5/5
Our room had a great view of volcano bay. The pool and lazy river were heated which was awesome because we were staying in late December. Perfect place to bring your family.
- 2/5
Was very disappointed with my stay , you charged me 29 a night to park and I couldn’t charge my car because the Tesla chargers both was broken into pieces and looked like that have been for quite a while such a inconvenience . Key card never worked for the pool so you have to wait until someone walks out. Room was very small and very old looking especially for the extra I paid to get the volcano bay view. The list goes on NEVER AGAIN
- 5/5
nice staffs and good pool, free shuttle to the park
- 3/5
We were assigned to building 8, which, after walking through the parks all day, feels like it's 10 miles away from the lobby. The food court is lackluster, the choices aren't the best, and that pizza tasted like tostinos frozen pizza. the front desk staff was very polite and helpful but the cleaning crew around the hotel were so rude. the toilet in the room ran off and on,
- 4/5
my room had 2 small flaws that wasn’t clean but nothing major, nice staff, pool & hot tub was nice the food was good ok regular but definitely over priced I would stay here again It would be better to be able to cook your own food to cut down on food expense
- 5/5
Great service and super close to the parks!
- 3/5
Room and food options were very basic but the convenience of access to universal was the highlight
- 5/5
It’s was very nice. Enjoyed the stay! Will be returning with my family in the near future!
- 3/5
The rooms really need to be deep cleaned. The bathrooms shower curtain smelled very bad. Needs replacing/washing.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel, loved the vibe, so clean, staff friendly, plenty of amenities….
- 5/5
Staff was awesome!
- 3/5
Hotel felt old hadn’t been updated since the 80s
- 3/5
Rooms are average, staff is a mixed bag. Prices are outrageous for everything, food for 2 was running us about $120 a day. Daily parking fee is $56 after tax and Uber has price surge almost all the time. Car rentals have hidden extra fees they don’t tell you about at time of booking till you get there. The cheapest theme park is the volcano bay a water park with fancy slides, that will set you back $80 for kids and $95 for adults. Overall I would grade it 3/5 and that’s being generous.
- 4/5
The location is great for access to the water park and theme parks.
- 5/5
Stayed in the family suite. It was clean and met my expectations. I would recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Jonathan at check in was wonderful, the resort setting is so relaxing. Staff waa so friendly, short, relaxing walk to citywalk check out was extremely easy via text. Wonderful experience
