Reviews
The hotel's location and proximity to Magic Kingdom is highly praised by guests, with easy access to transportation being a significant advantage. However, the quality of service and cleanliness varies greatly, with some guests expressing disappointment in these areas.
- Excellent location and proximity to Magic Kingdom
- Easy access to transportation
- Inconsistent service quality
- Cleanliness issues in some rooms
- 5/5
Super clean and nice room, especially considering the age of the design. Excellent inside. Our room attendant was super nice, thanks. All the building were in excellent shape - some construction going on around the conventions center- did not interfere with our stay. Only issue I had was not enough time there... Pools don't open till 10AM so no fun to be had before checkout! Was only able to dip my feet in the kiddie fountains. Some webpages list the "adult" pool open early - that was NOT the case. Locked too behind the main pool.

Family Friendly-Chef Mickeys was my 5yo’s favorite

Everything was magical

I stayed here for an event last week, and had the worst experience I've ever had at a Disney resort. The tv in the room would not turn off and the housekeeping and maintenance were non-existent. I found the staff rude beyond belief and unhelpful. The doing our job line was their way of saying go away, and they did not help at all. For a property that costs such a large amount per night you would expect some level of customer service, but that has disappeared completely. The buffet takes it another step further in arrogance, a tip to the cost of an additional guest is expected and what do you get for it, servers who look down their noses at you and couldn't be bothered with you. Even a simple request like hot milk seems to be too much for them. I will never stay here again and will probably never visit Disney as this visit has left such a bad taste in my mouth.
- 4/5
The Hotel needs urgently a refresh. Everything works well but its old. The cleaning service is slow. We left the room at 9am returned at 4 pm and nothing was done only after I called they came.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean no complaints
- 5/5
I have booked through Expedia several times and if I request a different room type or an upgrade they act as if they can't accommodate since I booked through Expedia and not directly through Disney.
- 5/5
O
- 2/5
Room was not ready
- 5/5
I loved this hotel, 5 minute walk to magic kingdom. Our room was incredibles themed which was a nice added touch. Loved the toiletries in the room and beds were very comfy. Could have been soundproofed a little better but I think this is probably the case for most hotels. Loved it and would return
- 5/5
The monorail itself made this hotel worth it.
- 5/5
Everyone and everything was wonderful.
- 5/5
The staff we interacted with were very helpful. The location is unbeatable for someone hoping to have beautiful views and close proximity to Magic Kingdom. The room was very large, very clean, and paying the upgrade for a theme park view was 100% worth it.
- 4/5
Great location and property! However, it is a bit overpriced with minimal inclusions. There are no discounts on the Disney parks or any perks with staying with a Disney hotel.
- 5/5
Amazing experience from check in to check out! We’ll be back!
- 4/5
Roach control should be a priority
- 5/5
Walk to magic kingdom in 7 minutes. We also like the food options.
- 5/5
The staff was very efficient checking us in and friendly! The room was very clean and we didn't notice any wear and tear areas which is amazing for a hotel with lots of kids!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
It was a wonderful resort! Lots of amenities.
- 5/5
The room was nice but I've stayed in other hotels for less money with more comfortable beds but that was my only complaint.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Staff was very cordial.
- 2/5
The price for the resort was exorbitant for the tiny room. Resort is old and dirty. Magic Kingdom
- 3/5
Room smelled badly & I was charged for valet parking even though I had a disability placard & it was supposed to be complimentary.
- 2/5
Our stay was very sad. The room was hot and very uncomfortable. I have stayed on Disney property at least 6 times per year for more than 25 years and this stay was by far the worst. I will never stay at the Contemporary again. The only thing that’s was nice about it was being on the mineral system. I’m very disappointed!
- 5/5
The staff was excellent !!!!!! The room was cleaned , beautiful views , best part the monorail inside resort!!
- 1/5
Lack of plant based & vegan food options
- 4.5/5
shower leaked every day onto the bathroom floor and they did not clean our room the last full day of our stay
- 4.5/5
You can only get on the Monorail going in one direction, you have to ride the entire loop to the transfer station, Polynesian Resort, Grand Floridian before you get to the Magic Kingdom, so factor this into your timing.
- 5/5
No.
- 5/5
Disappointed that the restaurants didn't have reservations available and would have to take your meals to go. I would think if your staying at the hotel you would have some leverage to be able to eat there.
- 5/5
The ease of travel by monorail.
- 5/5
Lack of elevators
- 0.5/5
I had a fly infestation in my room
- 5/5
Absolutely nothing!
- 5/5
Couldnt have asked for a better stay. Staff was absolutely amazing and the room and view was magnificent.
- 3.5/5
the maid service is the worst, I was expulsed by the maid from my room because she needed to clean the room right then.
- 5/5
The price is way to high
- 5/5
The location was wonderful! Being able to quickly walk back to our hotel after Extended Evening hours at the Magic Kingdom was perfect. We loved the quiet pool. The quick service restaurant had a lot of great food options.
- 5/5
The atmosphere, the restaurants the room and all the activities
- 4.5/5
Long line for check in
- 3.5/5
The specific room was very far from the main building, so a lot of walking to get to and from for food or other items
- 5/5
Prices at the restaurant.
- 3.5/5
My room was so far away from the lobby. If you get the cheaper rooms expect a long walk.
- 4.5/5
No restaurants open after hours
- 5/5
The pool area should open a little earlier.
- 4.5/5
The only negative was I could hear people in the hall and in the connecting room.
- 5/5
This trip was wonderful. Everything about it was great.
- 5/5
Loved our lake view room, and being able to shop at the hotel after the park closed. All the staff was very friendly even at late hours. Definitely stay again!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay as it is a beautiful hotel, very clean rooms, excellent front desk service, convenient transportation system and good choice of places to eat. However, the one thing that needs improvement is daily housekeeping. I understand that they temporarily are not coming in to make your bed daily but should at least come in to empty trash daily and give us clean towels if needed. In the 6 days there, we only had someone come in once on day 2. I had to call down to ask them for fresh towels, toilet paper, etc. I had to empty my trash out in the hallway near elevators a few times. Also no room service yet.
- 5/5
Convenient transportation, well appointed modern room (garden wing)
- 4/5
Great service and hotel. Big rooms
- 5/5
Very close to the park.
- 5/5
Had such a wonderful time. Love Contemporary more and more each time I stay!
- 5/5
Lovely. Enjoyed the closeness to the parks.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the stay and proximity to Magic Kingdom
- 5/5
There was a lot to do. We never left the resort area. We had shopping, dining , pools, splash pad, mini golf, water parades, fireworks , activity area with crafts and games. We walked to the Magic Kingdom. We didn’t get in a car or bus for 5 days. ,
- 5/5
It’s a long monorail ride from Epcot back to The Contemporary. Otherwise it is fabulous!
- 4/5
Loved this resort and the proximity to Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately the walls are pretty thin and we didn’t get much sleep.
- 5/5
Excellent guest services…
- 5/5
Best resort for Disney Vacation ..
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 5/5
The hotel is pricey (not unexpected), but it has much to offer including easy (<10 minute walk) to the Magic Kingdom, obvious access to the monorail, which literally runs through the hotel building, and a WDW bus station just outside the door. Dining options that we experienced ranged from (again) pricey and over-the-top to satisfying and reasonable. This hotel was a real contributor to our now familiar Disney experience -- an almost overwhelming overall experience paired with a look ahead to the next visit. When we first arrived we were greeted with the now familiar, "Welcome home", and it felt just right.
- 1/5
Horrible rooms and service
- 5/5
Room was large and had everything that we needed. It was very clean and had a great view of the lake. Staff was friendly and courteous. The monorail was very convenient to utilize to get to and from the parks.
- 5/5
Every this was perfect :) but it is Disney so what do you expect?
- 3/5
I booked a King bed and when I got there, I was told it was a request not a give. I explained, you choose your room type and it Shows photos, they said Expedia is a 3rd party and cannot honor their bookings. they only take request even tho I paid extra to guarantee my reservations
- 3/5
The room was small and not the room I thought I was getting. Also there was no maid service due to help shortages. We had to call twice to get the coffee replenished so we could have it in the morning. It may not sound like a big deal but for the money we paid for the room you’d expect top service!
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Access to Disney. Nothing great about the hotel.
- 5/5
Amazing!!!
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel and staff
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Contemporary Resort and we hope to be back there again soon. From the start, we were warmly welcomed and our bags were stored while we spent our first day in the Disney Parks. The app made it very convenient to unlock the door to our room, which was immaculate and beautifully decorated with an "Incredibles" theme that the children loved. The restaurants were delicious and so convenient and of course the monorails and buses whisked us back and forth to the parks. We accidentally left a few clothing items behind and, once again, the hotel made it very easy for us to claim the items and have them returned.
- 4/5
the only problem I had was my room only got cleaned once The water was backed up in my shower and I didn't realize it until the next morning We had to get a shower in dirty water at the bottom from the day before Other than that, it was the best vacation ever!!!
- 4/5
I stayed here as a kid and came back as an adult with my kid. It's been nicely renovated and the staff was lovely and the location cannot be beat. My only real complaint is the difficulty in being able to eat at the hotel restaurants. Like everything at Disney you have to make reservations waaay in advance, so if you like to keep some nights open, you're basically screwed. Couldn't even order take-out. I wish this would change at Disney. It's too much.
- 5/5
This was our first time at the Contemporary Resort at WDW. We have stayed at several other of their resorts. This stay was wonderful!! Easy access to the parks and the Disney Princess Races. Our room was spacious with a spectacular view! Pool area was beautiful and all of the restaurants served delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Can’t wait to return 🤗
- 5/5
I love contemporary, but it has changed over the years. The rooms were very clean and nice and I had a nice lake view. The coffee pot broke the first time we used it but they gave us a nice brand new one. I’ve visited two or three times before in my life. There were some hindrances. 1.coffee shop closes at 1pm, and is hidden in a corner where no one would even know it is there. One of the check-in ladies happen to tell me about it. This is not good because I love to drink a latte around four or 5 o’clock. 2.dining options-you couldn’t get into any restaurant. There were no reservations or get in line available, and I am staying at this hotel- this was not good. Most of the restaurants were way, way over priced. We paid $89 each, plus drinks to eat on the 15th top floor and then watch the fireworks-way over priced and the food portions were very small. Most of the restaurants were not kid or budget friendly at all! There was one self-serve restaurant and another next to it where they eat with Mickey and you could not get into that one because they were booked! Overall, I still love this hotel and the monorail that goes right through it, but I wish they would change the restaurants and people who stay there should be able to get in immediately over people from other resorts or hotels.
- 5/5
Perfect family vacation!
- 3/5
Don’t expect service to be at par with price. For what you’re paying, service is not in the same league.
- 5/5
Excellent service and resort.
- 2/5
While we were in the room, 4 times they came knocking at our door to fix a small maintenance door behind one of the beds. One of the times, they walked in on us with a skeleton key. I told them to come back when we were out and they never did. They just kept coming back when we were there. We returned from a day at Epcot, only to find all our dirty towels on the bathroom floor and our trash can still full from when we left early that morning. I called to complain and was told, that because we stayed only 2 nights,, we only get room service every other night. At $850 a night, we get room service every other night. You read right. After I slammed the phone I received a call telling me they would clean my room at that hour. It was 11:30 pm!! I slammed the phone again. And furthermore, When we got there, the room next door had placed 2 pizza boxes with leftover, half bitten pieces of pizza outside their room. We went hotel-hopping all day and returned at 8:30pm, to find the pizza "garbage" still there. Additionally, I could go on about how "Mickey's cafe" only does self-phone ordering and you get your food in a box and they only have American Coffee. If you want espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc, you go 2 flights down and diagonally across the entire hotel. I did this, having a morning meltdown on zero caffeine. But I won't go about this. Oh wait, I already did… the Aggravation.
- 2/5
the property runs deceiving fees/charges at check-out which they dont advice the client at check-in
- 2/5
Overall we didn’t love at ALLL for what we paid. There were so many technical issues getting into our room. Everyday someone had to let us in. The issue was never fixed. Construction constantly was so loud. The employees were annoyed with US because our room keys wouldn’t work like we had anything to do with it? Overall, awful experience. Wouldn’t recommend.
- 2/5
NO IMPRESSED WITH THE PROPERTY. EVERYTHING IS IN CONSTRUCTION.
- 1/5
Horrible doing construction. Monorail was done. Meased up the trip
- 5/5
Ok
- 5/5
Love the Disney service, can’t be beat!
- 4/5
Chef Mickey’s and Contemporary Cafe had really good breakfast and great seeing the disney characters while eating at Chef Mickey’s Loved the easy access to the monorail to get to most of the theme parks. Unfortunately, room cleaning service was horrible. We had to call the front desk for towels and they never came to clean our rooms Very disappointed. Also for a Disney resort, I was very surprise on how dull, boring, and old it looked. Not appealing to the eyes at all. I will not stay at that hotel again.
- 5/5
Loved our wholesale stay here. It was under a renovation but didn’t let it get in our way. The rooms do need updating. We liked the garden rooms and we had a nice view of the water. Would of liked it our room had easier access to elevators and lobby. Also wish dining options were open later from being at the park all day. Hard to get reservations.
- 4/5
Loved that you could take the monorail to 2 parks but the last day of our stay, the monorail was not working. Luckily, we had access to our daughter who drove us to the park. Another issue was that several elevators were not working as well.
- 2/5
The contemporary hotel was once a really nice hotel, now unfortunately it is extremely run down. The area where I stayed( which is the only one of two that are open, the garden pavilion) honestly feels like a motel. I was extremely surprised that I paid $500 to stay in a run down annex of the main hotel for one night. Not worth it at all. The photos were very misleading but I wanted an extra day in Disney so that’s why I did it. The rooms are ok but the building, hallways, elevators and everything else felt dirty and old.
- 5/5
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is top of the line. Amazing in every way!!
- 5/5
Clean and modern. Up to date tech
- 5/5
Our stay at the Contemporary Resort was absolutely magical! We were at the far end of the Garden Wing which we found to be quiet, and despite what others might say, is only a short walk to the amenities of the main building. The room was very nice, and the bedding was great. We are at the resort twice (fine dining and quick service) and all of the food was excellently prepared. The convenience of the bus transport alone was worth the added price. Everything was quick and at our fingertips. We never needed for anything while we were there! Disney resorts are expensive, but we found the perks to absolutely be worth it! And that’s even towards the end of COVID, when all of the amenities weren’t even available. Would highly recommend, especially for all adult parties of Disney lovers. Great honeymoon!
- 5/5
The Contemporary is an amazing property and the staff is wonderful. From dining at the Wave to sitting by the pool everyone is friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The biggest things I didn’t like about my trip had nothing to do with the hotel. First of all, I had to wait 45-60 minutes in a line to go into any Disney store to spend money! You cannot do anything on the Disney property anywhere without advance reservation even counter service you have to do mobile ordering. My beef at the moment is with Expedia who is now trying to process my trip again, after the trip and have me pay again, which is leaving an awful bitter taste!!
- 4/5
The property was clean and staff were courteous. The pool area was nice. Unfortunately, the food was just average and there were limited selections.
- 4/5
The room was wonderful. The location was good for magic kingdom park but the swan/dolphin are way better for the other parks. The price was painful.
- 5/5
Loved the close access to the monorail, restaurants and shops. Great staff.
- 5/5
Amazing stay! I absolutely love this resort!
- 5/5
This resort is a must for anyone visiting Magic Kingdom
- 4/5
however, they did neither!!! The room was great with an amazing view of castle, shame there were no fireworks though!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, the property was well maintained. Surfaces were constantly wiped down. My only complaint is that there is clearly not enough seating for restaurants at reduced capacity. It was very hard to find reservations for breakfast and dinner.
- 5/5
Took 2 two grandkids on first visit to Disney! This is the perfect place to stay, make sure you get theme park view.
- 5/5
Convenient location, beautiful surroundings, quiet and safe
- 4/5
I ask for 1230 check out because we were going to breakfast with Mickey 11:15 they said no? Occupancy very low I spent 200 for breakfast was nice and worth it but no should not be used when people are not traveling
- 4/5
It was good very convenient close to magic kingdom.
- 5/5
The hotel was impeccably clean and constantly sanitized. The beds were not overly comfortable, but fair enough. The proximity to Magic Kingdom and being able to utilize the monorail system was the best part for us. Not having to wait for a bus to travel between parks was very convenient - especially with young children. We dined at some of the restaurants in the hotel and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Service at the Outer Rim, although slow, was friendly and pleasant. The pool and waterpark was a great break from the parks with the kids!
- 5/5
Wonderful location 5 minutes walk to Magic Kingdom!
- 2/5
Very dated hotel. Could hear our neighbors to the side, above and below. Thinnest walls in a hotel, in any hotel I’ve ever stayed. Man at check in was very friendly, impressive, but not anywhere else. Couldn’t find a reservation at any restaurant. Will never stay here again.
- 3/5
Not worth the money. I booked a garden room, when I saw it we made the long walk back to the desk to change rooms. I had to pay a large additional fee to change the room to the main building. The room was the exact same dated room. No USB port anywhere in room. Sticky old dark carpet. Small bathroom. Old dated tub. No counter space. The pool sandbar only serves beer and wine. It was not magical.
- 2/5
The Contemporary is beautiful and a really awesome hotel. When we arrived, we were told that we would be staying in the "Garen" section, which i snot actually in the master or Main building. This was never relayed and after a lot of complaining and having to sacrifice one of the two nights we stayed, I made it into the main hotel. Very sad. Disney has the nerve to charge 25 bucks each day for parking in the hotel you paid for! Can you imagine? Property is beautiful but check, and double-check all fees and that you are staying in the CONTEMPORARY and not some "Garden or WIng!" Unfair! Very Hard Earned cash not met with fair or common practices.
- 4/5
The parks and this hotel are suffering low attendance, probably because their mask policy sucks, which meant the park and hotel were pretty empty. Despite this, the ticket prices to Magic Kingdom and room rates are still the same as well as the lines for the rides. The social distancing coupled with allowing only 1/2 to even 1/4 capacity on every ride causes the lines to be as long as when the park is at full capacity. To top it all off, the hours have been reduced. Do yourself a favor and go to any other amusement park or wait until things go back to normal or you will be frustrated.
- 5/5
Our room was beautiful, staff was great, very clean, view was beautiful!!
- 5/5
Our room was fantastic, roomy and great view overlooking the pools and garden area. The staff was very accommodating, and the resort very clean.
- 5/5
The Disney Contemporary Resort was perfectly situated for us. We walked to Magic Kingdom & the other parks we visited were a quick drive
- 4/5
Despite it's an old property, the hotel is okay. The most positive point is the monorail inside the hotel.
- 5/5
It was awesome. Great location, the monorail made it easy to get to the park fast and parking was a breeze. Would highly recommend staying on Disney properties for the extra benefits.
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic! The staff is wonderful they made sure everything was perfect
- 4/5
There need to be some later night bar/grill Type options. Had to order room service for a 10 PM burger
- 5/5
Rooms need to be updated. Cabinet where refrigerator broken.
- 5/5
Every one was wonderful
- 5/5
Everything was beautiful. I didn't have to worry about anything
- 3/5
It was great for location, ok for value.. nothing special for the price you pay
- 2/5
I liked staying on the monorail. Booked the room, Was told there was no rooms available when I arrived at the hotel. Expedia had to convince them to give me the room. Waited three hours for the contemporary to give me a room.
- 3/5
For what I paid I expected better - the room could have been cleaner , the room service food could have been a lot better, I was on the first floor which I don’t like and again, considering what I paid , I expected their would be some sort of free breakfast and if there was I couldn’t find it. This will definitely be one hotel I will not be staying at again. This hotel needs updating
- 5/5
Easy access to magic kingdom. Great hotel. Good food . Loved getting to see all the characters .
- 5/5
It's gotten almost too big. The computer system is do out of date. Difficult to use at home and even st front desk of the Contemporary. They should only let resort guests in early.
- 4/5
Proximity to magic kingdom was awesome. Kids had fun at the pool
- 3/5
Can walk to magic kingdom which is great. Otherwise not our favourite. Checked in late as our flight didn’t get in until midnight. When we booked we were asked our preference between 2 queen beds or 1 king. We chose 1 king as it was our anniversary and even made a note of it. Once we arrived they told us there were king beds available but only for an extra fee. Bit disappointed....
- 3/5
Was told it was either king or queen. Requested king. Was given two queens on checkin. Tried to up charge for king that they had available.
- 4/5
Loved how close it was to the Magic Kingdom. But it was just too expensive. Glad we visited, but most likely won't ever go back unless the prices drop.
- 2/5
They gave us the garden view wing room. Building very run down. Needs remodeling. Elevator very slow and old. You can hear every noise in the room. You don't feel in a luxury resort at all. Only convenience is the proximity to Magic Kingdom but far from Hollywood studio's. We ended up getting uber because bus was very slow.
- 5/5
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The food was excellent.
- 5/5
Good artwork. Also nice rooms. It was enjoyable to stay there.
- 4/5
Loved the proximity to Magic Kingdom. Direct access. To Epcot without transfers would be ideal.
- 4/5
The Contemporary is an excellent location from which to visit Disney theme parks - you can walk to Magic kingfom from here. The rooms are fine and the bathrooms are modern. It is very clean. However it is a very busy hotel with lots of noise and people so not a place to relax. Chef Mickey is open all day for character dining and you will see Mickey there. This brings in alot of extra people to the hotel.
- 4/5
The actual property is a great location and feels good. The bathrooms on 4th floor (Restaurants) were closed the duration of our stay, and the closest ones on the Second floor also closed 1 day.
- 5/5
Very convenient location within the parks. The room was neat and spacious.
- 5/5
Amazing and well worth the money to be close to the Magic Kingdom
- 5/5
What I liked and the uniqueness was having the Disney characters interact with the hotel guest.
- 5/5
Location, location, location. Spend time in the parks, not stuck in traffic, waiting for trams, or standing in lines. Worth the expense, especially when everyone is tired at the end of the day.
- 5/5
The best hotel you will stay in - if you want to get the best Disney hotel
- 2/5
Was not worth the price.... room was in the Bayview Tower. Old and dingy...can’t believe they charge that price.
- 5/5
Money which was the most magical room I’ve ever stayed in. Over looking the castle and fireworks on the night. I’m booking again next year for sure
