Reviews
The hotel's location is highly praised for its proximity to Universal Studios and other local attractions. However, the reviews consistently express dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms, outdated furniture, and poor maintenance. Additionally, many guests were unhappy with unexpected charges, particularly for parking.
- Excellent location
- Spacious rooms
- Poor cleanliness
- Outdated furniture and maintenance issues

The staff was wonderful, checking in was seamless. The shuttle to universal was easy to schedule and it was on time. Enjoyed out weekend stay
- 5/5
Such a great staff!
- 5/5
Very clean, friendly staff.
- 5/5
It was comfortable and nice house keepers The front service lady was very arrogant and rushed my check-in beside that everything was great, but first impressions should be your best!
- 4/5
Friendly staff clean room. I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
The staff were amazing and helpful. Everyone was welcoming. From checking in to checking out, everything was smooth. Our suite was very clean and extremely spacious. We had a great view of the fireworks every night. Would definitely stay here again.

A clean room and friendly staff

Rooms are kind of plain Jane. No decor or anything. Bathroom very small. Bathroom floor a little dirty shed we got there but they did send someone to come clean it. Food in lobby at restaurant was pricey and not that great.

Would stay there over and over again!! Great service, so clean

No amenities provided, staff was insanely rude kept telling I did not have a reservation that I was getting scammed by Expedia. I showed her the PDF receipt and they said she couldn’t accept it. After I showed her the account then she magically found my reservation. The room was so small and honestly not clean. The shower curtain was stained with something dark/dirt. Overall 0/10.
- 1/5
I was charged when I got there after I payed in full on the app they double charged me and when I arrived at hotel to check in they charged me $190 after paying $259 on t again they charged $190 after pay $259 on here
- 5/5
The ONLY issue i had was that when we first got in the room it felt very humid and you can feel the sheets were damp, but once we turned down the A/C everything dried up but thats it, everything was good
- 4/5
Nice place, 2 bedroom suite was big and beds were nice but the pull out couch was the worse ever. Springs in your back and the blanket was so scratchy. Couldn't use it at all, needs to be trashed and updated for sure.It cost me $18.00 to do 1 small load of clothes in their laundry room. A little box of tide was $5, 2 dryer sheets in 1 box was $5 and it cost $4 to wash a little load and $4 for the dryer. Seems a little high to me, glad I only needed to do 1 load.
- 5/5
Love staying there..will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Everything was well organized, and I appreciated the comfortable atmosphere. I saved this hotel for future trips and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

No breakfast for free.. what we ordered was way overpriced, took a lot of time to arrive, but tasted good. Rooms were clean and newly renovated. Location is very convenient. Paid parking!

Although the lobby area was having an issue with the air conditioner. The staff was wonderful in particular the staff at the bistro. Great drinks made. I had a wonderful blackberry old-fashioned. Great property great location very convenient rental inside of the hotel five stars.

We were scheduled to stay there 2 nights this past weekend. Using arrival, all was fine until we got to our room. The TV channels were not working properly due to weather conditions. It started out with one channel (ABC) not working at all and that was the channel that the NBA Conference finals was playing on and we couldn't watch it. We notified the front desk of this matter and maintenance came to look at it and said there wasn't anything they could do. Shortly afterwards, all the channels went out for the rest of the night and we couldn't watch TV at all. Also, our AC system made a noise anytime it was running. Maintenance stated it was the filter and it was a common noise. So unfortunately, this made my wife and I want to end out stay early. The front desk was good, just the issues in our room we couldn't look past. Thanks
- 2/5
Te AC in the room was very loud I could not sleep.
- 3/5
Room has stains on the wall had to call maintenance as soon as we got in room after waiting for room to be cleaned toilet not working and ac in main bedroom didn’t cool disappointed this was a family trip I appreciate the agent for waving parking for wait time but having to experience this after the wait was disappointing

Property was close to the theme parks and the free daily shuttle was fantastic! We flew in really early and the front desk staff was amazingly accommodating with helping us figure out a room situation so that we could get a few hours of rest before we hit the parks!
- 5/5
Very clean!!
- 5/5
This is a very nice hotel but I think it would be nice to have free breakfast instead of having to go down to the lobby and have a $16 scrambled egg and toast breakfast.
- 3/5
Body wash was empty in the shower and there was a stain on the curtain window curtain along with a snapped chain to move it up and down.
- 4/5
The room was clean. Staff friendly. I just don’t like having to pay $30 for parking at a hotel I’m staying at.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Todo muy bien
- 5/5
It’s close to the park, and the staff were friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The only downside was the unexpected $30-per-night parking fee. I didn’t realize that until I arrived. Also, this may have been my oversight, but every Marriott hotel I’ve stayed at before included breakfast, so I was surprised that this one did not. Other than that, the room was clean, and the pool was excellent. Overall, I had a good stay.
- 4/5
I didn’t like that you have to pay $33 a day
- 5/5
Good place to stay!

- 4/5
Just okay. Did not exceed my expectation. Could have done better especially in their toilet and beds.
- 3/5
I didn’t like that I was in a handicap room.
- 3/5
The customer service throughout the stay was disturbing and disappointing. We also requested towel service, which became an ongoing issue, resulting in us having to go pick up towels ourselves. In addition, the parking fees were excessive and felt like price gouging. Overall, this experience was very disappointing, especially as a loyal Marriott Rewards member. I expected a much higher level of professionalism, organization, and customer care.
- 5/5

- 5/5
I believe charging $30 for parking is absolutely ridiculous. If the hotel would have been in a different area further from the Orlando attractions they would have not charge any. This is the first time I had to pay for parking in a hotel in Orlando.

We had the privilege of being treated absolutely fantastic my the front desk manager Fabian’s, always greeting us with a big smile and engaging with us, super helpful and kind. Also Jovan was an absolute pleasure, over the world excellent! My experience was so amazing because these two staff members treat customers like family-

Parking was a little tight and they charge 33$ a night to park in there

The staff was very nice and the facilities had a lot to offer. I didn’t like that when we checked in, there was a black mold ring around the toilet but the staff was able to come and clean it out. We really don’t like that we do not know there was a charge of $33 a day to park there.

Amazing staff! Special shout out to the GM Michael, Jalicia, and Quiana. Helped us with whatever we needed. Great people! Nice walk to universal city walk. 18 mins. Much cheaper than staying on property. Worth it. Will stay again soon. 😀

The room is clean , its just that it has an old musty smell when you go in the room...the air conditioning is cold whic i like. The internet needs improvement, i wasn't able to utilize my laptop and i book for a conference nearby and need to do some work but unable to.

Friendly staff. Accommodated my needs without any hassle. Very helpful. 20min walk to Universal Parks or take the free hotel shuttle service. 7min drive to Epic or take free shuttle. I'd stay again!

It was very nice and employee where very helpful
- 4/5
The shuttle was nice. The buffet at TGI Fridays was good.
- 3.5/5
The room was very clean , and the barman was very friendly They didn’t put any water in the room. I asked an employee to bring me some water. She said she would, but she never came back. The water was to take my medicine. There should always be water in a hotel room. We never know what can happen in the middle of the night.
- 4/5
Good and convenient to go to universal
- 1/5
False ad about the breakfast availability. They have one cafe with very limited menu included as part of the room. Staff were terrible. They find every opportunity to make money. Only the manager was decent and willing to do the right thing
- 5/5
The hotel is clean, comfortable for bigger families. Perfect location to everything.
- 5/5
Yes, the room was spotless and the personal very professional.
- 4.5/5
The rooms were nice, there was a fridge available and the bathrooms were clean. I really wish there was a microwave!
- 3/5
The room was mostly fine. However we didn’t have hot water and the toilet wouldn’t flush so we had to call to get that fixed. For the most part my stay was great, but there were a lot of things that were broken and the lobby floor was absolutely disgusting. Looked like it hasn’t been mopped in months. Ice machine was broken. The person who checked me in gave me no information about parking, shuttles or anything. She checked me in and handed me my key and called up the next person, I had to ask her to explain parking and all the other details that I needed. Also there were altar 3 signs to show where the men’s room was in the lobby but none for the ladies room and it was hard to find.
- 5/5
Room was great for our family! Front desk staff, maintenance and housekeepers were amazing!
- 4/5
The door slamming and the hallways are too noisey, you hear everything, elevator, ice machine, kids playing
- 2/5
We never got our room cleaned the entire stay. We DID have the DND sign out for part of the time so I do understand it being an issue but they came to our room to clean at 8pm. Seems a bit late to try and clean. The elevators were atrocious. The staff was great. I cannot complain about that at all. The grounds were decent and the overall resort seemed clean enough but it wasn’t the level we’d expect from a Marriott.

We weren't able to get into our room until 7 pm. Was suprised to see a $30 charge to use the tram - if hd known, I would not have paid for. Otherwise, everything was a nice stay.
- 5/5
Having to pay for parking.
- 3.5/5
It had a shuttle to universal. I wish we had known it only ran at specified times. The coffee and breakfast in hotel were great Shuttle had to be booked in advance and was only at specified times. The hotel was under construction and the elevators were a bit concerning. There was also a large police presence on the day we left which made our Lyft driver nervous
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 4/5
The staff was nice and friendly
- 2/5
On website it has free onsite parking. When I got there was given a card and told if I was parking onsite I would have to go through that company and pay for parking. Plan to pay extra $33 dollars minimum.
- 5/5

- 2.5/5
It could’ve been a terrific experience had it not been under a pretty much full tilt remodel. Nothing was available except the pool. We should’ve been informed of this prior to booking. I feel that they should be upfront with this. We had no vending, no ice only one elevator. The staff was friendly and helpful. So- that being said unfortunately the staff was the best part of our stay. Francisco and Max saved the day multiple times. They are the reason we stayed the second night. Our first room had ants, running water that wouldn’t stop and a non working refrigerator. Had maintenance up there on three occasions. Finally was moved to another room on the second day that was much better.
- 2/5
It was close to universal, the room was nice there was no vending machines, or ice, we had to pay about 50 bucks for two days for parking, the hotel is under constructions, the elevators were sketchy
- 3.5/5
Staff was helpful and friendly. Amazing room. Comfortable bedding. No access to snacks and drinks. We tried every floor and machines were unplugged or cash only.
- 5/5
I liked it everything it was an amazing stay.
- 1.5/5
The staff and location was the only good thing about this place. Paid parking..... I feel like if we are renting a room we shouldnt have to pay for parking! The plumbing in the shower were all falling off the walls so we had to be extra cautious when using it. The carpet is so bad in the hallways that we are unable to roll our suitcases due to it being rolled up and needing replaced. The elevators made horrible noises and made us feel unsafe but due to us being on the 8th floors with tons of luggage from our cruise the stairs were not an option. It does look like they have recently did some work in the room we were in but it was not quality work. I plugged my straightner in and thought the outlet was going to go through the wall due bad sheetrock repair. We checked in long enough to take showers and checked out. Its just not something that you expect to see and have that close to Universal at a Holiday Inn.... I can expect this out of a Super 8 or a Motel 6 but Holiday Inn has always held a HIGH standard to me.
- 3.5/5
Friendly staff. Great pool. Location. Construction. Haven't gotten deposit back.
- 4/5
Hotel was getting a refresh. Everything was fine but found it odd that our soap dispensers in shower were missing, nowhere to hang towels and room service took soap in bathroom and didn’t replace.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and the housekeeping ladies did a great job especially on the first day of our stay.
- 2/5
Room was uncomfortable. Sheets and pillows were scratchy and stiff. No continental breakfast. The staff, that I actually encountered were friendly and helpful. Otherwise, this review would be lower. I understand the building was under construction but no reason to be as dirty as it was.
- 1/5
- 2/5
Everything was under renovations Rude front desk
- 1/5
Our check in was at 4pm. We called the hotel at 12pm
- 2/5
Room was clean but the hotel was under construction so the pool was closed.
- 1/5
There were ZERO amenities. No snacks, no breakfast. There was some coffee that was not very good and I had to ask staff to replenish the cups before I could get some. Terrible experience.
- 1/5
After a long day of traveling we arrived at 1800 to be told the room is not ready. The receptionist said she will call us when our room is ready I advised that I do not have an American phone. She then advertised for us to sit and wait in reception I asked how long would this take she said could be an hour. We waited in the reception area for 45 mins. We were then given our room key we went into the elevator which was all boarded up cardboard on the floor we went into the elevator to our floor. We were greeted with a load of pillows bedding and Debry. This was not ready for guests to stay in,
- 1/5
We arrived at our hotel around 2a after traveling. The front desk had no key cards so we had to get a security guard to open our door. Because we parked behind the building and with no key cards, we walked around the building and my kids were sleepy, cold and tired. We entered into a room that was not the right room, it turns out, the hotel gave our room away and gave us a room with 2 double beds. The reservation was for 6 people and 2 of us had to sleep on the floor. On top of that, the floor was not swept and there were no towels or shampoo in the bathroom. We called the front desk and they wouldn't send any up so we had to go down to the lobby get those items. The front desk clerk wanted to give 1 tiny bottle of shampoo for 6 people. This hotel marketed that the suites were available and that's what we reserved and none were available because they're being remodeled. There was hardly any parking available because construction had so many spots blocked and they wanted to charge $31. I would not recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
No Soap, or Shampoo, the light above the sink did not work, no extra bedding for sleeper sofa and very uncomfortable. When ordered extra bedding no one available to deliver. Hotel being remodeled so very dirty and stuff all over the hallways.
- 3/5
Heat the pool!
- 2/5
Room had painters tape everywhere. Locks wouldnt lock and then at 11 pm a maintenance man showed up to fix a bedside lamp we didnt call about. This wasnt a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
While the hotel is being renovated, the staff did a great job of making us feel comfortable. You can tell once the renovation is complete and they’ve added all the amenities. It’s going to be a great place to stay if you’re going to Universal.
- 1/5
Worst experience in a hotel ever. In the mist of renovations, but was not informed ahead of time by Expedia no places to get water, no vending machines available, and the stench of plaster is vivid. Try contacting Expedia to attempt to obtain a partial credit, unable to get a hold of an actual live agent. May be deleting my account after this ordeal.
- 1/5
The hotel stunk and there were no amenities. No vending machines and only 1 microwave located in the lobby. I will never recommend that hotel to anyone. Even the parking was more than what the website said. The only saving grace was the Fridays attached to the hotel.
- 2/5
Didn’t send us to the right elevator to get to our room so ended up in a hallway that was active construction with tubes of caulking and drywall debris on floors no proper lighting and then had to navigate ourselves to a closed door before finding our room on the other side did state excuse our dust but should be more aware of when sending guests to rooms. Room seemed unfinished for the renovation as well.
- 5/5
Will stay there again
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction. We were put on a smelly floor. Terrible experience
- 4/5
We stay here every year because is the best pet friendly hotel!! But sad because in January change to a Marriott Courtyard that is not pet friendly!!! So now my family, and my dog would meed to change for another hotel!!!!!’

Clean room , spacious and very good location
- 4/5
It was good for the price, great location.
- 3/5
Smelled bad
- 4/5
The room was perfect and the stuff was so sweet. The only thing I find a little ridiculous is the $30 a day to park.
- 2/5
To start, this rating has nothing to do with the staff. In fact, the overnight manager/front desk personnel were very accommodating and kind. The owners of this hotel need to make drastic changes in their rooms. The second we opened our door, a heavy stench of mold hit us all. The room was muggy, and both beds were very moist. We requested a room change and were swiftly accommodated by the staff. However, the second room had the same issue of smelling moldy. Thankfully, the beds were not moist, so we decided to stay in the room since our stay would be short and it was late. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you have kids or any health conditions. Serious upgrades need to be made.
- 1/5
Construction
- 3/5
Room was great as always, however, i was not aware that the hotel was going through some renovations. Honestly wished i received a heads up notice regarding the changes. Parking was fine, expected to pay a lot unfortunately, however, the gate seemed to not work a few times which forced me to call a 1-800 number to verify i was leaving and entering the hotel
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff
- 4/5
Breakfast was only offered through Fridays. They only have a buffet. Nothing for a quick snack or sandwich at any time. Only one oerson that we saw trying to work with everyone. Pricey if you just need a small breakfast
- 3/5
Cuarto limpio, baño equipado y camas cómodas. Pero el hotel está en remodelación!! Por lo que las fotos no son actuales y el olor a pintura puede incomodar bastante.
- 1/5
Everything was terrible! They apparently are in the process of turning into a courtyard by Marriott so it was a straight construction zone. So the store inside was closed, no ice or vending machines. They literally were telling people to go across the street to the double tree hotel store. The room felt like it was in the middle of being renovated so it reeked of fresh paint and everything was messy. The tv was broken and wasn't working and they didn't have any others or any other rooms available. There was constant construction noises which woke us up at 8 in the morning everyday to sawing and hammering. There was a huge water leak which set off the fire alarm for awhile. We were complaining and when we were checking out they were trying to comp some stuff. So they said they would comp the parking, it's handled by a third party but since I hadn't registered or anything for it yet she said they could. Took my license plate and said she got it all taken care of. Now just received a notice in the mail from the parking people for 150 dollars for non payment and everything. So now I'm trying to deal with this. Worst hotel stay ever!
- 2/5
Ok last resort or bargain place to stay.
- 1/5
Hidden charges, hotel under remodel, our room was recently remodeled and had very heavy over powering odor, bathroom handle on outside of door needed repairs and caused the lock inside the bathroom not to work. Safe had no batteries and was unusable, cleaning staff placed same wet dirty floor towel back to our bathroom with the same spot on my tub. dust everywhere throughout the hallways and main areas, staff is rude only Carlos and Sabrina were helpful. Terrible stay. Will not be returning. Would like a refund or may proceed with Google and yelp.
- 3/5
Parking very expensive but, convenient location if you are going to Universal Studios.
- 3/5
To be honest the hotel is under renovation which should have been noted on Expedia prior to us booking so the pool was not available. The room was ok but the bathroom door locked did t work properly, the entry door slammed which they all did because we heard slamming doors all stay long. There was no bottled water in the room and only two towels provided and the AC didn’t work very well. The room felt damp. The staff was very friendly though

Just need a microwave in the room.
- 3/5
The staff onsite are AMAZING. Very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that's where the pros end. The hotel is old and in disrepair. They were working on renovations while we were there which is great, but meant a lot of noise early in the mornings (before 7am). Our room itself had so much potential (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite). However the couch had a massive divot in it which made it uncomfortable to sit in and the beds were the same. Very old, worn and uncomfortable. I hope the renovations will include new furniture. I just don't see how resort fees and $30 a day parking can be justified by the state of the room and hotel as it was when we visited. Hopefully the renovations fix those issues, because it really has a ton of potential and the staff there was so friendly.

We booked this hotel 3 month in advance (June) and a couple of weeks before going we were notified the lobby was under construction. I didn't think that would be a big deal but looked for other hotels anyways. Because we were so close to our travel date at that point the prices were astronomical so we didn't have a choice. When we got to the hotel the lobby was actually the nicest cleanest part of the hotel despite it being under construction. Our room was so humid the floor and bedding were damp our whole stay. The bathroom door didn't work properly due to the humidity in the hotel. You could get stuck in there if alone. The door to the room was missing a screw on the mechanism so you had to jiggle it to close the door. It smelled very poorly in the hallways and the elevator. The only elevator that opened was the service elevator which was in very poor condition. We stay at a lot of Holiday Inns and this one does not meet their normal standards. My recommendation would be to stay somewhere else until they've renovated. We attempted to get a refund due to the conditions and was advised our "booking was nonrefundable and doesn't allow any exceptions and they're sticking with their policy and won't issue any refund, not even a partial." Zero flexibility and no apology, which is disappointing. We will think twice before booking at another Holiday Inn. Stay somewhere else.

Hotel was under complete renovation but no information was provided about this when booking. This became a major issue for us when we needed a soda at midnight and were informed they had removed ALL vending from the hotel and not bothered to think of any alternatives for guests in need. Bothered me so much I will never stay there again. Also a bit peeved about the lack of information about parking fees. I could have stayed at another hotel for the same price with parking included- and I bet they would have had a soda machine!

It was a lot of construction in the hotel. It also smell like a off of the highway motel. Room was old but it was clean tho.

Good location close to Universal
- 1/5
Don’t come here! Wait until it is a Marriott property.
- 4/5
The rooms were nice, the place was under construction which always means it’s going to be noisy. My biggest complaint was no vending machines even though the signage was all over. I walked the dumb halls looking for it.

Had a great stay. Very convenient to Universal. Easy walk to and from the parks. Only negative is the size of the beds.

The 1st night around 11:05pm, I called to let them know the TV wasn't working, they told me they'd send someone. I called back around 11:25pm to ask if they were still coming by to fix the TV & the guy said he would message the engineer again. At 11:58pm, I called again and a different person (shift change) told me that the engineers leave at 11:30pm and won't be back until morning. Finally, the next day we had a nice guy come help us with the TV to get it working. The bed (king size) pillows and A/C were amazing! It was weird that the door to the room had about a 1/2 inch gap from the floor. You could see the light from the hallway coming through and see the shadow of people walking by, and hear the voice of people in the hallway much louder. Checkout day from 8:30am-11:45am every 5-10 mins a door slams loud. Found out it was the cleaning lady down the hallway cleaning rooms/letting door slam. NO sleeping in on weekends. Last day, we needed a cart, front desk guy only pointed to where they "should" be. We went to breakfast & noticed a cart in the parking lot. We told the front desk where it was, all he did was motion with shoulder, like "OH", a few hours later the cart is still outside. NOT good customer service from that guy.

One of the showers on my suit was not working and there were ants on the sofa bed, no iron in the room. The only thing I liked was the location
- 5/5
Nice
- 3/5
The day I checked in the staff was great. The day I left, it was not. She had wrong information and when another guest tried to hand her an ice bucket, she literally said she deal with that and refused to take it. I took it to my room.
- 4/5
I figure most of my complaints are due to the renovations, which I refuse to find fault in. Overall, a wonderful experience.
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction, so everything was dirty and materials everywhere. The exit gates were hit and miss whether they’d work. The bathroom was dirty and the door wouldn’t shut. The room was humid. We got stuck in the parking lot because construction had half the lot blocked and the gate wouldn’t work. The workout room was in disrepair and only one of four machines worked. The pool and pool are were dirty. Expect to pay for parking since you’re close to Universal. We will not be staying here again.
- 2/5
Muggy smell
- 1/5
The hotel is undergoing renovations but it’s really inconvenient and does not provide proper instructions as to where to park or how to access front desk through all the construction. It’s dusty, hallways are not clean. Room was not ready when we arrived, it was 3:50pm because they had not serviced the rooms yet. however when we were checking out, a housekeeper knocked on the door at 9:25am asking if she could clean. Probably won’t stay here again. I’ll pay extra to stay somewhere else.
- 1/5
Not good. Fees were expensive and no hot water. Left early
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic, everything was great I love the view.
- 2/5
The hotel is under renovation and at 7:20 am, we were awoken to the sound of drills and hammers. I understand the need to update facilities but you would think they would close off the area where construction was taking place but not in this instance. Disappointing
- 3/5
Walking distance to Universal Studios. Under renovation. Missing blackout curtains in room making it ungodly bright .
- 3/5
Would rate excellent, but we were not notified prior to arrival that the hotel is under construction and many amenities were not available. Location was great, directly across from the main universal entrance.
- 2/5
The hotel was a nightmare to stay in. It’s under construction which I understand and is fine but it made everything very difficult. The parking was ridiculous because the app they use wasn’t working properly. The rooms are pretty outdated, but overall with cleanliness OK. The breakfast was very overpriced and the overall experience was very frustrating. I will not be staying here again. There are many other hotels in the same price range that have many more updates and amenities.
- 4/5
Just Let you know to fix it, The toilet paper holder is broken and the shower handle is loose and the shower water standing, doesn’t go down fast.
- 1/5
Zero communication Major leak Forced to stay in room with fan + water damage Horrible mildew smell Pool closed Construction blocking all entrances Unprofessional staff We arrived at 1:00 (approx) to meet friends who had checked in earlier. They were given a room, but we were told ours wasn’t ready. No problem, we’d use the pool. Except it was closed for construction. Still manageable. At 4:00 we returned, only to be told, “oh, we’ll transfer your room.” Meanwhile, another guest mentioned they arrived at 3 and got a room immediately. Saturday morning we discovered the carpet soaked from a shower leak. We notified staff and said we’d return later that night to switch rooms. We never received any call back and returned to an overpowering mildew stench and a loud industrial air mover running in the room. When I raised the issue, the front desk treated us like the problem. The manager’s response: “What would you like me to do?” Since it was after 2am, I said I’d return the next morning. It’s now 3 days, 2 emails, and 1 call later—still no response. DoubleTree is across the street and infinitely better. Spend the extra $30–$50 a night to stay on universal property. Trust me, it’s worth it.
- 2/5
Your staff is lovely and tries their best during adverse conditions. The shuttle buses to a from the parks are very convenient. But I never would have booked this hotel if I knew it was undergoing such a major renovation. I was very nervous about my rental car getting damaged by all the construction equipment in the parking area. My room smelled weird, the safe didn't work, and one of border tiles fell off when I closed the closet door. I thought about asking to be moved to another room, but with the state the hotel was in, I doubted it would be any better. Keeping a hotel open while making major renovations is an obvious money grab and Holiday Inn should be ashamed of itself. Thank goodness for Door Dash because the only nearby food option was TGIFridays and what they serve can barely be considered food.
- 4/5
great location, right across from universal
- 1/5
Hotel was under heavy renovation and did not notify me before my booking. They did not offer free breakfast. They charged $27 a day for parking and over half of the parking lot was taken up by constructions or a Car rental company. The walls had holes cut in them, exposed wires across the ceilings. AND the worst of all.....SMOKE Detectors taped up...... That should never happen. When the work is done the tape comes off.
- 3/5
Lets talk about the positives. It was close to universal, pricing was cheap for a 1 night stay and the room itself was big (as we got the suite) and overall looked like it was updated. It appears the building is going through a remodel and no doubt when done the lobby, hallway and amenities likely will be better. This wasn't "necessarily" the issue. The issues were the following....1) When booking the room online, no where did we see a notice on the website that said it was under construction or in a remodel process. Had we seen that, likely would have not booked it. 2) As expected as a result, we couldn't park in front of hotel to check in (as they are doing work on the entrance), so had to park on side of road. 3) No mini store to sell drinks or water because of construction 4) no ice machines on hardly any of the floors because of remodeling and the ONE ice machine that was on 10th floor, did not work. It was on and at best spit out a few pieces of ice. 5) While I know it was late (after 10pm), I asked staff if there was water in those courtesy water tanks they keep by service desk and they were like, I think we are out. I walked over to try to poor and nothing came out but clearly you can see there was some there. I said, "oh so there isn't anyway of getting any water or water bottles" and they responded there was a walgreens down the street. I was too tired to be combative and accepted the answer. You know they could have refilled it for me.
- 3/5
Construction occurred during our stay. Wish we were notified before. Could not sleep in or use pool. Not the hotels fault but just wish we knew before we came. Rooms were clean and comfy and room service was nice.
- 1/5
This property is under renovation which was not disclosed at the time of reservation. There are no amenities, no vending machines, no pool, no hot water, dish network for television not even all of the channels. Broken toilet paper holder, knobs missing on the furniture. In short an unsafe dump. The hotel should not be open during this extensive renovation. Wires hanging from the ceiling, hallways blocked with furniture. The location is great but that is it.
- 5/5
Perfect location less than 5 minutes from Universal Studios/City Walk.
- 4/5
Staff is friendly and Our room was clean, the beds comfortable and the view was nice from the 10th floor.. But when we got there they seem to be expanding the lobby and adding a couple new things so there was a bit of construction but besides that it was a nice stay . Also the hotel is connected to a TGI Friday’s and the food is pretty good. Also walking distance to universal and the premium outlets 👍
- 2/5
What I didn’t like was the pool wasn’t working and it was never mentioned when I check in or on the website staff don’t say much. Don’t explain much. They just handle the cards and that’s about it. You have to figure out everything else..
- 2/5
Not mentioned anywhere that this property is under construction, even when I called before arrival. Pool is closed until maybe 9/16. The place is a mess and dirty. Bugs in the beds. It seemed every time we came down our hallway the cleaning staff was just hanging out talking which makes sense since the place is dirty…everywhere. The living area, the bedrooms, outside the rooms. They clearly do not do their jobs well. Do not recommend.
- 1/5
Far from airport no shuttle like advertised
- 1/5
The room was full of mold and we started coughing. There was so much construction and unfinished halls and rooms we couldnt even find the ice machine. No mention of construction on the website. There should not be customers staying there. I am glad, however, they agreed to a full refund. ( I have yet to see that reflected on my account) Too bad because I have enjoyed my stays at Holiday Inns before this experience.

Great service. Good quality for price. Convenient to Universal.

El lugar está cerca de todo y para mi familia fue un plus haber tenido una suite con dos cuartos, más un living room area con un sofá bed.
- 5/5
When we visited a lot of the area on 1st floor was being refurbished. Overall the experience was very good. One feedback I gave the front desk was that the gym equipment was broken. hopefully they will fix it soon
- 4/5
The hotel was going through some renovations. None of that caused any issues with our stay. We were able to do early check in for a fee so that was a relief. There were extra fees we didn’t expect but not a big deal. The hotel was waking distance/ short uber drive to city walk which was a plus! Would stay again for a quick weekend trip
- 4/5
Ongoing renovations, when renos are complete this hotel will be nicer.
- 2/5
The rooms are old and smelly

The two bedroom sweets were amazing. Kids under 12 ate free at the connected Fridays. Rooms were super spacious and the staff at the front desk. Absolute pleasure and friendly! Totally my go to for business from now on.

We are not told it would be under construction before we went. It was dirty, elevators were disgusting and had sheets on the walls and spilled liquid on the floors. Gym equipment was all broken. Extention cords hanging from celings all over. Drilling all over building the entire time. Unfriendly staff.
- 2/5
I've stayed at this hotel twice. 2024 and now 2025. 2024 the hotel was solid, good location, tgif in the lobby and the staff was amazing. 2025 the staff is still great, but the lobby was being renovated. The 2nd floor was very dirty. The lobby was a disaster. The renovations should have led to a cost reduction, and the fire alarm was set off at 3 in the morning by construction workers. Massive disappointment.

Room was not ready when we arrived (after check in time) and took around an hour to be readied, no microwave in the room, carpet in the hallways wasn’t properly attached to the flooring, but staff were all very kind and the location is solid.
- 3/5
Under construction and TV didn’t work
- 4/5
The parking lot was closed and didn’t have another exit.
- 5/5
You can’t beat the location for the price. The staff was kind and helpful. I missed that I’d be paying for parking. Be careful as hotels.com says their price includes everything, but that’s not quite accurate. Resort fees, parking … those get paid on property.
- 5/5
Overall, the stay was great. If the parking could be free, it would be even better.

The hotel is under construction but nothing that interfered with our stay. My only issue was the room had an old smell but it was fixable with an air freshener. I would book there again

Didn't like having to pay for parking. I would rather pay more for a room than pay $120 dollars for my room, then whatever for parking, plus a deposit and then an extra 20 for some random fee. At that point i could've just stayed at a universal resort or a more expensive hotel for the same price. The hallways smelled like urine. The exit signs were literally hanging from the ceiling by their wires. The staff was friendly and the room was decent enough and very clean.
- 1/5
The room was listed as sleeping six. The pull-out mattress was paper thin, covered in crumbs and stains, and had no bedding. We were told we had to come get sheets ourselves, and that nothing could be done about the dirty mattress. The toilet didn’t work most of the time. At one point in the middle of the night we had to urinate in the shower. The sink wouldn’t drain, there was mold in the shower, and what appeared to be a blood stain on the bathroom wall. We were told someone would fix it while we were gone for the day. No one came. Two of our guests had to sleep on the couch and floor for two nights. We’re not picky but we expected basic hygiene, beds for our family and working plumbing. We got none of that. When we asked for a refund for at least one night, we were told we got “the room we paid for” and were offered half off one night. That’s a joke. This stay was not just uncomfortable, it was unsanitary and degrading. Do yourself a favor: skip this place. Holiday Inn should be ashamed.
- 2/5
The property was undergoing renovations, had I known prior, I would not have booked. Very close to Universal/ City Walk, however I would not recommend the walk. Free shuttle had to be reserved at the designated times. The bar is at TGIF, no room service. Rooms were not that clean, carpet was filthy throughout the property.Parking is not free, there is a daily fee. Half of the room sockets did not work. Neither of the lamp sockets work to charge devices. The beds were Not true Queen size beds, more like a full size bed. The pool was as described on pictures with no life guards on duty and ip to 8ft deep.

Great stay!
- 4/5
The rooms the rooms are dated with old decor. The couch had a hole in it to pull out bed is not comfortable at all so we just put the sheet on the cushions and slept on the couch instead of pulling the bed itself out. The beds however were very comfortable. One of the bedrooms did have a slight problem with ants. Nothing unbearable but with all the rain from the whole week it was to be expected. Hotel parking to me was a big issue at $25 day plus tax for a week it cost $200 for the week just for parking! The hotel does not offer a free continental breakfast. Friday's restaurant is connected to the hotel. With each adult you do receive two kids that eat free at the Fridays. Breakfast was $18 a person so really not feasible. You also get two free meals with breakfast lunch and dinner for children so it did help some. In my opinion breakfast is really not worth the price. There are several dining optionswithin a couple of blocks. The hotel itself is in a prime location directly across from Universal if you do need to take the shuttle remember you need to do 24 hours reservation in advance or you cannot ride. We chose to just drive because the pickup times were little bit too far out than what we needed parking for Universal is $32 a day. Overall a great stay and would definitely book again.
- 2/5
This hotel was dirty and outdated. Bathroom had mold on the tile grout, the carpet was diagusting, the hallways were dirty and had an odor. The bedroom door handle physically fell of every time we touched it, the drywall repairs that had taken place were really poor, the sink faucet was very loose, the bethroom door didnt lock. Also the shower/toilet room was really small. There was a lot of long black hair throughout the room and bathroom.... this was not from my family. The fitted sheet for the pullout couch was visibly dirty and it took 45 minutes and a trip to the front desk to get a new one. On top of all of this, the hotel lobby was under construction. I feel like this should be disclosed when booking. There were zero nice amenities. With so many other hotels around, don't waste your time here.
- 4/5
They also charge 25 dollars a day to park and that sucks too. Id understand charging to park multiple cars, but charging people to park a car is insane. I was under the impression that the first car was free, after that it cost money. So they need to clarify that. Overall not a bad place, just sucks to to be made to pay for parking. The construction also wasn't great. Staff were nice though .
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly we rented two rooms. It was a mini vacation for my husband, and I and one of our children and his wife and their children. It was amazing. Our rooms were very clean very comfortable and overall wonderful experience.
- 5/5
Universal Studios being right across the street.
- 4/5
Overall good stay. Under construction so no game room and some banging. Our AC was broken and they said they’d fix it 3x but never did. Main room never went below 71 which wasn’t bad but the bedroom wouldn’t go below 73, which was hot. 1 room has a light on outside of building that shines right in the room so it doesn’t get dark even with the shade drawn. Few staff members were arguing in the lobby very loudly. Wasn’t bad stay since we weren’t in room much just not excellent.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay, clean and service was wonderful! Breakfast was great, good location close to everything!
- 2/5
Hotel was under construction. We had to pay a $60 destination fee (what the heck is that) fencing and semi trucks unloading boxes trapped out car in the parking lot. Beds Wed suppose to be a queen and they were very small. Bathroom felt dirty. Faucet was upside down and even fell off twice while we were there. When maid serviced our room trash was not taken. We have stayed at this hotel before and it was nice but it has gone downhill.
- 4/5
We had two large flat screen TVs to choose from, a safe, a fridge & a microwave. The only downside to our suite was the bathroom. It is in need of an upgrade and the shower didn’t run hot and kept changing temperature throughout my showers.
- 5/5
Everything was great and the staff very helpful
- 2/5
we were placed in a room where the toilet and bath tub is clogged up. I ask for a replacement room which they put us on other room but we have a lot of things that we already unload on the first room and we had to load it again to bring them to the next room. The hotel needs a total renovation. It is not anymore competitive to other hotels. Location is very nice because it is just near Universal Studio. Parking is not very spacious and needs to pay daily at 27 dollars something and no complimentary breakfast offered.
- 2/5
Horrible communication abiut parking & shuttle service. It was convenient location overshadowed by poor staff communication
- 5/5
Excellent distance to Universal Studios!
- 1/5
We booked a king room for our anniversary they “upgraded” us to a double queen suite, we said no tank you we prefer a king but they had none available. They did not communicate the change until we checked in and I said “no we were down for a king”. The hotel stink of marijuana on every floor. The hotel room barely any of the electrical slots worked, the desk in the room had bent legs so bad it’s a wonder it was even standing. We checked in at 330 (check in is at 4)and they said since we were a little early they would text/call us to let us know when the room was ready, after an hour of sitting in the parking lot with no communication we decided to cut our losses and go to the park. All in all won’t stay here again,
- 3/5
Staff was rude when trying to get to universal studios. The shower flooded every time we used it. We never got the right amount of towels if we even got towels. Breakfast was not included and was $18/person for mediocre food. Our first room the door would not even close so we had to request a different room.
- 5/5
Staff was pleasant and courteous!
- 1/5
Room floors were dirty and bathroom tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. Saw bugs crawling on the floor. Checked out and reported the findings to front desk. The person just said oh sorry to hear that. I asked for receipt, she said she would send via email, I never received it and was charged the full price even though I only stayed until morning of 24th. Terrible hotel, wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Construction of lobby is going on; that can wait, they need to shut down and redo all those rooms!
- 2/5
Also when the fire Alarm goes off, there was no process to ensure ALL guest are evacuated and safe, especially when it’s late at night, and no communication with guest whom keep asking questions and front desk has no answers.
- 5/5
Staff met all our needs. Check in was fast. Close to attractions
- 3/5
Service was great and room was clean. The property is just a little run down. Some cracks in the counter tops, frayed carpet and bedding. We had 2 rooms and one was a little more updated than the other. They are remodeling so probably will all get updated soon.
- 4/5
Great place to stay if you want to be close to universal studios. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only issue was the room was a little outdated.
- 5/5
Nice friendly staff rooms were clean
- 1/5
The room I was given immediately smelled like mildew/mold the moment I walked in. Also, the handle on the bathroom door fell off when I went to use it. I commented on these things to the staff I was told that a maintenance guy and a cleaner would be up to resolve the issues. They only came and fixed the bathroom door. And I got to smell the mold/mildew stench coming from the AC all night. I regularly seek out holiday inn’s when I have a choice and I would never go back to this one. Very overpriced strictly because of the location. I know that they are currently updating this property, but this experience was awful and I will never be back. Also the shuttle to universal is VERY limited.
- 4/5
The suite was great! Loved the setup, the one room privacy.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 2/5
It was good with breakfast and brunches but the hotel room stunk like dirty clothes and the carpet and bed was still damp , I’m not sure if it was the air or they just didn’t dry the bedding all the way but it was very uncomfortable to sleep in. Plus they barely have carts to wheel your stuff in and out , then you pay extra fees just to park . Wasn’t a fan of this hotel in my opinion.
- 4/5
Me gusto el que tuviera una sala y el cuarto aparte. No dieron servicio de limpieza en los días que estuvimos hospedados.
- 5/5
Two bedroom suite was perfect for 7 people! Two bathrooms, kitchenette, 3’tvs. Great room, great location, great shuttle service. I would absolutely stay here again!!
- 1/5
I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn for years. This location is dirty, old carpet not cleaned, not decorated. Building old, elevator and hallways and room smells musky. No coffee or breakfast. This is my first poor experience at a holiday inn. I’m scared to continue booking at other locations
- 3/5
The room had a smell of mildew, the phone didn’t work at all. The bed was soft and comfy and that’s about it.
- 3/5
The property is under remodeling and it’s much needed. However the rooms look nice. Unfortunately the shower pressure is basically a drizzle, the grout was moldy and the a/c never really got to a comfortable cool temperature. The beds were not bad. The staff was super and they even sent an engineer to look at a/c but it still didn’t cool off much. The vending machines on our floor and the two floors below didn’t work. The ice machine was hidden far away off a back hallway. For the price we couldn’t complain too much. If you need a place to crash it’s good enough. We never made it to the pool because our focus was Universal Studios. They have a free shuttle from the hotel but you have to schedule in advance and we were never organized enough to get on it. The walk is .7 miles to Universal and it’s not bad. Again the staff was awesome!
- 2/5
What I didn't like was the room had tacs sticking up in the carpet my kids got sticks in their feet and their knees the toilet quit working there was no bedding when they did bring us bedding it was terrible I think the blanket was just something they found in the back somewhere we were staying with six people they only gave us three towels and don't get me started on the noise we had to listen to the whole time we were there because they are doing construction wish I would have known that before I stayed later in the day it wasn't as bothersome but super early in the morning with irritating when all we wanted to do was sleep
- 2/5
Very poorly maintained property, smells through out the corridor and room, no proper closets, bathrooms are way to old and in bad shape.

do have any charge outlet .very older .only have one charge outlet .

Need to have free breakfast no paying 17 per person son for breakfast that is bs

Convenient location for Universal Studios. I did not like the desk set up in the lobby with a gentleman trying to give you a deal on tickets for other attractions without explaining that you have to sit through a 90 minute holiday inn vacation package presentation to receive them, first. Very irritating used car salesman's pitch.
