Reviews
The hotel is generally run down and in need of updates, with several guests complaining about cleanliness issues, including dirty rooms, mold, and unpleasant smells. The service is also frequently criticized, with guests describing staff as unhelpful, rude, and pushy. However, some guests have positive experiences with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a mixed bag, with some guests praising the selection and others finding it subpar.

A very tired and old hotel. They had builders working in the room next door while we were trying to sleep. Ok for a 1 night sleepover, but I doubt I’ll ever go back. The breakfast was not very good - cheap and nasty. The staff were nice.
- 5/5
the rooms were clean found stains on the sheets and was offered new ones and snacks for my troubles but overall, the mild renovations didn't bother my stay
- 1.5/5
Poor
- 3/5
The room was clean however the shower had areas of rusty looking discoloration. The shower had poor output and could not turn above lukewarm temperature. The morning breakfast had variety but the foot was not warm.
- 5/5
We stayed over the weekend.. The service was 10/10. The Best Continental breakfast you could ever have 10/10. Over all quiet and very clean. Centrally located.
- 3/5
The property is in a convenient location and the deposit required to stay is cheaper than majority of other hotels. The hotel room 229 we stayed in smelled bad like a sweaty dog. We thought that the smell would get better when the AC cooled down the room. It made the smell slightly better but still stank. Also in the hallway outside the room there was water damage/spots on ceiling could be cause for room smell.

Not enough towels in the bathroom.

Friendly staff. Not enough towels in the bathroom.

Ease of scheduling The TV was unusable. Press all the buttons on the remote - nothing.. no instructions. Apparently, using Booking com or other 3rd party venues, you end up on the 3rd floor. While the elevator worked okay, I suppose ground floor rooms are reserved for late-comers. In this instance the 3rd floor was half under renovation. Plastic sheets cordering off a segment of the floor.

Love staying at Fairfield. Always clean and never have any issues. Breakfast is always good, rooms clean, staff is polite. We always look for a Fairfield when we travel.

Very outdated room furniture, bed, shower, toilet, desk, seat, shower curtain, no ac at the restaurant for breakfast. Poor maintenance on the room and many other areas.

The room smelled of bug spray and cleaning products. Very unpleasant.
- 3.5/5
The room next to me had an overflow from somewhere and so there was repeated loud banging as they let door slam while they transferred rooms. Then repair workers were there with loud machines vacuuming up water I guess. This all happened at 12:30am! I went downstairs and talked to reception and she informed me what was happening. Poor sleeping that night!

Close proximity to job site. Far enough off the main road that the noise isn’t heard. Construction above my room, but it wasn’t unbearable.

The hotel is under construction! I wish I would have known that ahead of time there is alot of dust and debris on the 3rd floor.
- 5/5

- 3/5
Could use some updating
- 0.5/5
That the property was roach infested And 3rd floor totally under re construction
- 3/5
Hotel was dated and needed work but the staff was wonderful
- 2/5
The AC stopped working but the toilet started to flush in the middle of the night and wouldn't stop until I shut off the water. The bathroom had no air exhauster at all and the lamp in the ceiling was completely open, so that you could directly look into wires and the bulb. Of course there was mould in the corner of the bath tub / shower. In the room itself the walls had marks, light
- 3/5
Room was ok but it seems to be very old with lot of things like sockets not working.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5

- 4/5
This hotel is a decent place to stay.
- 4/5
Staff seemed hard working and contentious but neglected the wifht room and pool.
- 4/5
Clean room staff was great.
- 2/5
Now my brother in law had to move his room, no water space heater on tne floor. Really ?? I would not recommend the Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Orange Park, Florida.

- 4/5
Room was nice … bathroom dated and terrible towels
- 5/5
All was great x2
- 3/5
The room was good, the staff courteous but a little variety in the main menu items would improve things.
- 5/5
1st Class
- 5/5
The staff were professional, personable and kind. Went over and above what is expected! Every staff member spoke, even I hallway or elevator! Breakfast was delicious, hot and attendant kept every item full. Will stay again.
- 4/5
Clean room and a nice firm bed.
- 2/5
The staff was good and breakfast was always good but the elevator broke, the closet doors were falling off, and the front lights were broken and flashing. This was a no pet hotel and we had a dog barking all night and the next morning. All this happened in the 5 nights we stayed there.
- 2/5
The room smelled like sulfur and the front desk tells me oh well.
- 5/5
Check in was good. The rooms not so much. Bathroom tub was dirty, stains on the wash clothes and towels. A roach in one room. Plus this was Thanksgiving so the person at the front desk had to resolve the issues and best he could. The elevator was shaky so my family took the stairs. Housekeeping definitely slacking. Other staff was nice.
- 3/5
Hotel is less than expected. TV was terrible.
- 3/5
Inside getting pretty worn. Formica cracked and chipped, paint scratched and chipping, and hallway carpet ripped at seam. Unknown smell overall.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the staff courteous.
- 1/5
Crappy. Bathtub did not drain. Towels were like drying with a tissue, so thin and worn. TV and gym equipment not connected. Poorly managed.
- 3/5
Hotel needs some love, it needs upgrade in the rooms, beds, bathroom. Will go back for a day stay, but more than one day probably no.
- 1/5
Room felt dirty. Staff was smoking at front door on arrival.
- 1/5
1st room was clean, but in major disrepair No lighting in bathroom and a cockroach on floor. The shower sprayed everywhere, so I switched rooms and aside from the cockroach it wasn’t much better. The water also had a really strong chemical smell unlike I have smelled before. I have stayed in this brand hotel in many places, and was completely blown away by how bad it was!

- 4/5
Breakfast was fresh didn’t utilize the gym
- 4/5
Didnt eat breakfaat. Bathrooms needa updating.
- 2/5
Roaches in bathroom, dimly lit light over sink, couldn’t see to put makeup on, breakfast fair, staff at desk said we could move to another room but if bugs are in one room, they’re in other rooms as well. He didn’t offer to deduct any off the bill. He made excuses that it’s FL and it’s hot outside and bugs will come in. It wasn’t hot this weekend it was 60 in the mornings.
- 4/5
Pillows very comfortable, friendly staff at check in. Rooms very clean
- 5/5
Staff was polite and helpful
- 5/5
Nice
- 1/5
Mold
- 2/5
There was a smell in the room and flys , the bed was much too soft , I would not recommend , Marriott should not allow this hotel to carry its brand
- 5/5
Nice place
- 1/5
I saw a tick in the bathroom.
- 5/5
very comfortable bed and pillows
- 3/5
Good location and property was $20-$30 less per night, then adjacent hotels, however, cleanliness and updated rooms are the reason, so if you’re very budget conscious it’s probably an option. Woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and it was easy to give her a score of excellent.
- 5/5
Buena ubicación, buena impieza el desayuno super rico
- 3/5
Had to get my room changed , there were bugs in fridge and in bed of the handicap room i didnt select. Once get upstairs room is clean but scared to chance it sprayed down and bought cover. stayed jun 21 its july 8th and still havent gotten deposit back.
- 5/5
nice place, friendly people.
- 5/5
Everything clean, Frontdesk at check in was amazing. Suggestions to tacos was great.
- 2/5
So we were told this property is scheduled to be renovated shortly but that doesn't make up for the lack of cleanliness. There was a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower and the shower curtain liner had mold on it and was not clean. The room smelled moldy as well
- 3/5
Needs updating
- 3/5
Poor breakfast
- 4/5
Mostly large clean room. Staff was courteous and friendly. Breakfast was good. Bad- some mildew in the tub. Toilet had trouble flushing. Rust on shower curtain rod. Improve general maintenance of the building needed.
- 3/5
OK for the price.
- 3/5
Needs some up keep.
- 5/5
Front desk customer service is top tier
- 5/5
Couldn’t control the temp. Thermostat was not working so a bit warm but not too bad
- 4/5
The room service was terrible. We had to go down and ask for towels and wash cloths at the front desk. The cleaning lady did show up one day and we asked her to come back in 15 minutes when we were leaving when she informed us that she did not speak English. We let her in then so we could have the garbage cans emptied and cleans towels again.
- 4/5
Same breakfast every day, need to change up!!
- 4/5
Nice staff. Good breakfast. Bed sheets warn. Elastic stretched out. Would not stay on mattress. Room not cleaned after first night.
- 2/5
The first room I was in had a very loud A/C unit that rattled all night long. It also did not have a stopper in the sink. I notified the front desk and they provided a room for me to switch too. In that room the light over the bathroom sink was so dim that you could not see yourself to put contacts in your eyes. They came and replaced the bulbs but it was still not bright enough so I had to put a lamp from one of the bedroom end tables in the sink area to see. Also the phone cord had been broken and needed to be replaced so it would stay connected to the phone. The thermostat on the wall would not display the settings, only the ac unit would do that. The ice maker on the 2nd floor did not work the 6 nights I was there so I had to go to the 3rd floor.
- 3/5
Building is beginning to show its age and some things need to be spruced up a bit. There was no stopper in the sink in bathroom. Some of the tile needs replacing. Carpet in the hallways needs to be replaced. Grounds were nice and well cared for, Staff was helpful.
- 3/5
Room need update, Windows need to be clean, shower curtain should be off the floor and I took only one yogourt and it has mildew inside
- 1/5
The only good thing was the service from the cuban lady at the breakfast Jeaneally.Excellent hard worker, very attentive. The place a mess ,pool dirty no lights at the pool deck ,no jacuzzi spa at all, no shampoo,no bath gel, dirty towels.Very dissapointed, carpet taer at the room ,everything old, lamps ,air filter firty, restrooms needs renovation ,air conditioner makes noise. Not coming back ever.
- 3/5
There are 2-3 other hotels across the street and behind this one, try those instead. Don’t stay here!!
- 4/5
The overall property was in poor condition. The hotel needs a remodel. My room was clean but the bathrooms need to be gutted and start over. Floors and carpet are worn with cracked tiles In The bathroom. They had issues with their wifi for most of the weekend. This hotel just needs a facelift.
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
I asked for 2 extra bath towels for the room. Asking the front desk clerk, did not help matters - very rude. He told me to bring him the two towels in my room, I would get two more! Really? Are they that so unfocused on good customer service? The breakfast food looked like they took a semi-circle omelet and cut it in two - not sure how many times it was reused. No orange juice Coffee was tepid, like bath water. The elevator made a clanging sound when it when from 1st to 2nd floor. Running water in the bathroom had a sewer smell. No stopper in the bathroom sink. Chipped wooden toilet seat. I then decided to end my stay at 2 nights, not the original 6. I was charged $128. for "incidentals" - for which that same desk clerk could not provide an explanation. And, another 3rd night charge was added due to 'early checkout"!. Why does Marriott allow this property to be included in their portfolio? Lastly, the night after I checked out, a mysterious charge of $20.88 appeared on my VISA. The payee was "Kenicia Butler", via PAYPAL. I DO NOT, and NEVER have used any PAYPAL to buy ANYTHING. When I called PAYPAL, they said someone named Jessica Fourcault bought something from Kenicia Butler - but they had no information as to what was purchased. I strongly suspect this charge due to fraudulent, criminal misuse of my CC by an employee of the Fairfield Inn.
- 5/5
This Fairfield Inn is very clean. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Bigger and better breakfast thsn I expected. They have a waffle machine which I used every day.
- 2/5
The hotel had weird smell to it...had to go purchase a bottle of extra strength Febreze to spray the floors and linens in my room. The elevator made a loud scary noise. That made you think it was about to crash to the bottom. The furniture has scratches on it.. the beds were full-size and not queen. They appeared to old and out dated.
- 4/5
Nice , Clean and convenient , early checking is $20 Breakfast was good and had a lot of options
- 4/5
The room has a small
- 1/5
check in was so-so after get room look clean. I notice that every Mete surface was rested (my thought was overlooking that what are they overlooking that you can't see walls look like they haven't been pantie since it was Buit every wood surface scrap or missing chunks. took a shower there was not shampoo or body wash I had gotten shampoo when I was out. So, after getting out of the shower it was cold I turn on the heat didn't matter if I put on 65 or 85 it blows the same temp cold in the Morring I told front desk he said he'll look into it I didn't thing nothing about it till 8 pm it was still cold so I when back down and told Jessica at the fort deck and she moved me to another room that had heat .sad to see Marriot fallen so far equal to a super eight .One exit door would not open at all
- 3/5
Small gym with two of three machines not working. No water or wipes for equipment. Elevator had a strong noise between floors. Not a sign of confidence! Room was fine but very small sink area.
- 4/5
Good beds, quiet room, decent location. Wawa & cracker barrel around the corner. Would stay again.
- 2/5
Overall, this was not a good experience. The breakfast attendant, a short man, was randomly rude to myself and to other guests. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there. The room desperately needed to be cleaned and upgraded. The front desk workers and room attendants were nice and informative.
- 2/5
Room smelled moldy. Bathroom had gnats everywhere. Big orange stains in top. Elevator made very loud noises like metal banging. Down button does not work. Inspection expired 6 months ago. Open cream cheese little containers in the cooler at breakfast. Need new mattresses.
- 1/5
Not a good hotel
- 3/5
The hotel was conveniently located and fairly clean, but with quite a lot of drain flies in the room. I called the front desk to ask for extra pillows and they never got back to me. Breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Everything was very nice, pleasant staff.
- 4/5
Its good hotel
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. Hotel is old and a little run down.
- 3/5
Poor renovation
- 5/5
Perfect
- 1/5
sadly, this place seems neglected and worn out. the room smelled musty and the fitness space lacked any towels, or any means to clean the equipment. two out of three machines were not functioning and the hand weights were rusty.
- 1/5
Old and dirty.
- 3/5
Good customer service, quality of living affordable and comfortable
- 2/5
Upon checking into the room, the room was very smokey. I went back to the front desk to request another room. The other room had a foul stench and therefore, I did not stay and requested a refund and management did not honor it.
- 4/5
Everything was good.
- 2/5
The room had ants even in the bed , the air filters was filthy had to clean them the beds were uncomfortable. The potatoes were soured never seen them throw them out. No garbage bags for the cans the least little cloud or wind the TV went out.The only good thing about the place was the kitchen manager Terrance and the guy at the front desk who kept getting yelled at in front of people by the Ass. Manager of the hotel. I can honestly say I'll never stay there again
- 5/5
Close to the Naval Base.
- 5/5
Was really close to the Naval Base. Was clean and close to resturants.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
nice
- 2/5
Room floors where nasty turned the bottom on your feet black. The ceiling was falling from water damage. The toilet flusher handle was broke
- 3/5
Inernet service was questionable at best.
- 4/5
Location was convenient for us.
- 3/5
Hotel had a nice bed, OK shower (2 basics). The elevator was scarry -- I used the stairs as much as possible, as I didn't want to become entrapped...the elevator had some kind of mechanical problem, which appeared to drop a foot or two with a loud noise suddenly, The breakfast was a 2 out of 10. The back door security lock was mostly disabled. The desk wouldn't look up my Mariott rewards number, so I didn't get credit for the stay in the program.
- 4/5
Being next to the main street was a lil noisy, but overhall not too bad. I eould chose another hotel next time. Breakfast attendant wasn't too friendly either.
- 1/5
The room smelled terrible with a musty smell and damp feeling. Signs say the windows don't open, but that was incorrect as the windows open and there are no screens. Cleanliness of the room was mediocre at best, as we found random hairs in the room and the comforter had a stain on it. Staff was nice in general.
- 4/5
Easy check in front staff was nice. Room was clean. Breakfast was good other then a staff member yelling at everyone lol.
- 2/5
Mold on bathroom walls. Whole room smelled moldy.
- 2/5
The hotel is run down and in need of some updates but the service is terrible. When we arrived back after our first night, no one had been in to clean the room. The next morning at breakfast I asked why it hadn’t been cleaned and I was told they only clean every other day. The desk agent took my room number and assured me it would be cleaned that day. When we arrived back that night we saw that no one had been in the room to clean again. I went to the front desk to get fresh towels and let the desk agent know I was irritated and she said sorry and gave me new towels. The breakfast attendant is rude and pushy. It appears that no one working at this hotel likes they job.
- 3/5
There was a horrible smell in our initial room when we entered. The staff was kind enough to switch our rooms. However, we still had issues coughing etc even the next day. The hotel is very dated and I guess we were expecting ting a bit more updated from a Fairfield/Marriott. However, your staff is fine. Thank you
- 3/5
Staff was pleasant, breakfast setup was good, and the room itself was fine.
- 3/5
The bathroom was really dirty and the smell of humidity in the whole room was terrible.
- 2/5
Bugs in bathroom
- 3/5
Room smelled like mold. Room wasn’t clean. Had clean sheets and pillows but had stuff on mirrors . Room. Didn’t have a remote but they did bring one with a smile staff was good. Nice breakfast area.
- 1/5
Old ,moldy had a smell covering entire property
- 5/5
Clean rooms beds are great.the staff was excellent over all
- 3/5
Toilet needed fixed. Bed hurt my back. Only able to sleep 4 hours. Made my plans on Sunday get interrupted
- 5/5
We stayed for a night, had to upgrade to a larger room at the last minute and it was no problem. Breakfast was good and served at an early hour. Check out was a breeze.
- 3/5
It was a little dusty
- 5/5
Great stay for a one night only; I'm from out of town type of night out
- 5/5
All
- 4/5
We enjoyed our visit, but were a little uncomfortable with the breakfast police. The guy stood over us the entire time and we barely ate anything. The night auditor was very polite and helpful.
- 5/5
Our stay was good, we were down due to me having neck surgery. I was disappointed because there was a chair by the front desk that wasn’t being used so we asked for 2 days if we could borrow it so I could get some sleep but they kept saying the manager never let them know
- 3/5
And they didn’t have others and no one to fix them
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Professional staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
- 5/5
Nice stay for a quick getaway for some fun in the sun
- 2/5
old run down, main desk person was unhelpful
- 3/5
Really needs a facelift, the room seemed really dated. Not many amenities and the second lock on the door was broken and didn’t latch. Staff was nice and no specific issues, just not the most comfortable stay.
- 4/5
The staff at the front was friendly, the body wash and conditioner were empty from the get go. Beds are pretty comfortable. Overall, I think they are over priced.
- 5/5
Nice breakfast service each day. TV reception was surprisingly limited. Most basic cable channels were scrambled including CBS on Super Bowl Sunday
- 4/5
We found our six night stay to be very comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and accommodating. Special shout-out to Terrance, who greeted us each morning and made sure things ran smoothly in the breakfast room. We would definitely recommend this hotel. The only reason for 4 of 5 stars is because it could use some TLC, which we were told will begin May of 2024.
- 4/5
Hotel was ok unfortunately the first i saw when i turned the light on in my room was a roach on the wall. No one likes bugs especially near their bed. Also the person overseeing the dining area for breakfast this morning wasn't very pleasant to me when asked to microwave my food. Seemed as if i bothered him.
- 2/5
Hotel was too pricey for its condition, needs complete renovation. Room was bad. (See some pics). Good pillows though.
- 1/5
I am surprised and disappointed that this place is under the Marriott brands. The bathtub is FILTHY, there is black stuff on the walls, and the bedsheets are dingy. I asked to change rooms because of the filth. The second room was equally as bad. When I asked again for a clean room, the clerk said that they didn’t have anything. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a room at another hotel and I was stuck there. I slept on a chair all night because the bed was just too dirty. This one needs to be removed from your listings.
- 2/5
there was gum stuck to the side of the bed.. the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. sink didn’t drain & tub was dirty. let the front desk kno, was told it was to late to change rooms & to check back the next day. checked back, the toilet ended up being clogged too.. & the person at the front desk was very nonchalant about the sink not draining & the dirty tub. told us it was nothing he could do because the manager didn’t answer the phone. however, he did unclog the toilet.
- 3/5
Definitely expected it to be a little nicer and more up to date! I would pay the extra $ & stay at a nicer hotel. Not very clean either.. probably wouldn’t stay here again
- 5/5
My hotel was very close to shopping stores and restaurants
- 5/5
Absolutely amazing people working at this location.
- 3/5
Poor breakfast same food all five days. Food room temperature not warm or hot
- 5/5
Excellent
- 1/5
Never again! Very old hotel. Not a pleasant stay. Avoid!
