Reviews
The hotel has a clean lobby and good food at the restaurants, but only one operational elevator. The older tower has unrepaired problems such as poor TV reception, poor heating system, and running toilets. The staff is kind, friendly, and accommodating. Breakfast food is ample, but coffee and tea are not complementary. The pool was not available and there are no water fountains. Some rooms have washrooms that are very tight and cannot be closed properly.

The beds. Omg the worst ever. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. The drinks were expired in the shop girl didn’t care my daughter drank half of her drink before realizing it. My coke expired in 9 days. Stay away from the market.

Our flight was cancelled, along with lots of others, so we made a reservation at this hotel. we arrived at midnight and were told there was no record of our reservation. The hotel had no clean rooms so brought in staff to clean rooms. Upon going up to the desk again and speaking to another clerk, we were told we DID have a reservation but by then we had missed out on one of the ready rooms. Finally got into our room at 2:45 am.

This hotel was very clean - halls, room, foyer. Plenty of hot water. No smell of smoke or fragrances. Curtains close nicely to block out light.

We received the wrong type of room that we had reserved and prepaid for. I overheard a staff member telling another customer that they were sold out, and because we were pressed for time we decided to keep the incorrect room that we were given. Toilet area in the bathroom was incredibly small- so small that my husband and I would have to either keep the door open while using the bathroom or step into the shower in order to close the door. Closet had awful saloon style doors that shut on you when accessing the closet. Uncomfortable beds. I was charged twice for our room due to a payment issue, but the staff member I spoke with a few minutes ago on the phone corrected the mistake and assured me that my refund was coming in about 5 days. We won’t be returning and can’t say I’d recommend this specific Hilton property to anyone.
- 3/5
The hotel was decent. The prices were extremely high for snack items and water. The room was mostly decent. The bed was hard, and the shower had little water pressure. There was a generator running off and on all night right below our window. The pool and hot tub were nice and clean. The room was spacious and had everything you needed.

I had a terrible night’s sleep due to a dripping air conditioner outside my window. They could not move me to another room because apparently there wasn’t one other room in the whole hotel that was available.

In the room, however, there was an odor of mold/mildew throughout our room. Additionally, the shower head was leaking all over the back of the shower. We were only there for less than 12 hours so we didn’t bother to have it fixed or let staff know. It wasn’t a bad stay but not as good as other Hilton hotels we’ve stayed in.

We love the staff and since we go there so often they have become “friends”. It’s amazing that Abraham in the restaurant/bar always brings us our beverages from memory even after not seeing him for months. Then there is Hugo and Will that make eating there a great experience. The front desk girls are kind and have a friendly greeting for you when you arrive. We just met Toni and Cora this trip. If you want to know something interesting about the original hotel that was on the property look up Villa Venice and see an interesting story about the 20’s. Geoffrey Baer is also a source about Villa Venice. In the bar there is a picture of the Rat Pack who performed there then. First check out the story and when you stay there go on the walking path around the hotel that is next to the Des Plaines river and look for a gray plaque in the ground. I think you will be surprised.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. There are very little extras to draw us back in comparison to what other hotels offer and we had to pay to park.

The building was a luxury hotel years ago, but those days are past. When I arrived, the hotel had not processed my Expedia reservation from 3 weeks prior, so I spent my first hour on the phone with Expedia, and they ended up refunding my reservation and I had to pay for a new stay. The elevators to my wing broke the day after I arrived, and my room was on the 9th floor, so I had no room access for half a day. They got one of the 2 elevators working, but it was obvious that it was on its last leg. I had several occasions without hot water, and twice had to take a cold shower. The hotel is in need of renovation.

All was good but the pillows were absolutely the worst pillows ever!

Everything was clean and looked great. It was cold though, and we couldn’t get the temp to go up enough.

The entrance of the lobby. Rooms look nice. The Queen beds are not Queen beds. They are Full beds and they are so small. Can’t sleep on those beds with your partner. We couldn’t even get an upgrade to a bigger room. One of the beds headboard was also broken. The maintenance guy said that he didn’t see that, but there were staples on the broken side of the bed. Definitely wouldn’t stay there again. The jacuzzi was so dirty. They didn’t clean it until the next day.

The staff was very friendly and attentive I booked a room with a jetted tub and shower next to it. When I walked into my room it was not the room I had booked. I went to the desk to question why the room was different and were told the wrong picture is used for the booking and the suite that picture is from was booked. They offered me another room but still not what I had reserved. The jetted tub was dirty. The room also had trash left from the last person there.

We had a wonderful 3 day getaway at our favorite hotel. It was nice to see the staff that we knew and meet the new faces there. Everyone is professional but friendly and make you feel welcome. We met Gary and Candela this trip. Our room was clean and quiet. Nice crisp white bedding. Happy to see the new comforters. The beds are so comfortable too. We found out that the new management has changed parking to $5 a day. Wasn’t too happy about that. We have Hilton Honors and had to pay. I hope that they can keep the room price down so these 2 retirees can keep returning. We enjoyed our time there and hope to return soon! Loved the new selections on the menu in the bar area.

Hilton. Not really riverfront all grown up nothing to see sort of felt abandoned. Pictures we seen of outside patio, riverwalk etc were not actually how it looked in person. Looked forward to sitting by fire pit but that didn’t happen. Bathroom had issues and was dangerously small. Microwave wasn’t even balanced. Staff was fine first room had issues he found us another quickly. Didn’t eat in restaurant.
- 1/5
We had an room with a locked door to another room which was apparently an adjoining room. The person next door had a tv or device on which was very loud all night long. I called the front desk to tell them and they said they would call the customer. I heard the phone ring (!) and the person never picked up the phone. I put in ear plugs and could still hear the tv or device. Needless to say I couldn't sleep. At about 6:00 AM I heard the person retching for about ten minutes. Also the floor in the bathroom felt dirty and sticky. There was no receptacle to make hot water.
- 5/5
Good sized king bed room, clean, easy check in, nice staff, within 15 - 20 minutes of O'Hare, safe area, free parking, fridge, microwave and free coffee in room. Only down side is that concessions are super expensive - $8 for a 20 oz. diet coke. There are no convenience stores within walking distance so if you aren't driving you may want to pick things up at the airport.

The property is clean and the amenities are not that outdated. So I liked it
- 4/5
The king room was spacious for two folks. The only down side: A VERY SMALL/NARROW bathroom.

Great grandma had her 90th birthday here. Stayed for the night, great staff especially cora.
- 2/5
The beds are amazing though! Super comfortable and with plenty of pillows. Sleeping was cramped because they couldn't find a portable crib like we requested.
- 4/5
Out of the busy Chicago area but not too far away and good eating options nearby
- 5/5
The hotel and the room are beautiful. Very affordable. The staff were very friendly and the front desk attendant even gave us a free upgrade to our room with a jetted tub, maybe because it was our wedding anniversary? I loved this hotel; it is definitely one the best hotel syays that I've had in many years!
- 3/5
The property was okay. Check in was fast and easy. However outside of room a light fixture was down on the floor, the hot tub and pool was dirty as well as surrounding area of pool. The elevator broke down during our stay and we had to walk 7 flights of stairs. Overall it was okay! Sheets were clean. Shower had hair in it!

i spoke with someone about my trip already, i was treated poorly by a staff member enough that i left a day early and refuse to stay with hilton ever again
- 1/5
Cleaning crew did our room the morning of our check out day, before we checked out. This shouldn't happen or we should have been advised. Also, we made a request through hospitality and never heard back. Finally there was an issue with the elevators.
- 1/5
Broke elevators :(
- 1/5
The room had broken shades. The room service closed early, thought we were getting a Jacuzzi and it was a jetted tub or something for maybe a half a person!
- 5/5
This is an amazing property. The staff was friendly, pool was great, proximity to a state park and beautiful room.
- 4/5
My stay was a good stay. The customer service was a 5 star. Customer service greeted me immediately after arriving to my room with open service.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 3/5
Love the location and dining options onsite. Room looked a bit dated but it was good for one night and had a nice view. Check in was busy and the man at the counter didn’t speak much and didn’t even ask for an ID or have me sign anything. I had to ask how to get to the room. But otherwise nice place.

Overall pretty nice place to stay.
- 3/5
Staff was great. Room was large. Hotel was clean. Plenty of parking. Bathroom was tiny. There were no knobs on the inside shower door to open from the inside. Ice machine only on three floors. Stacks of dirty laundry left in the hallway over a day. Buffet Luke warm
- 2/5
I reported the issue to the front desk around 10 PM, fully understanding that it might not be fixed immediately, which I was okay with. However, no one followed up, attempted to resolve the problem, or offered any kind of compensation or alternative. That lack of response was really disappointing. I won’t be staying here again, but I don’t think the hotel is inherently bad—I probably just got the short end of the stick. Still, for a Hilton, I expected better service and responsiveness.
- 5/5
Good place to stay, off the beaten path and decent pricing. Pool was clean, cold but swimmable. Hot tub was awesome. Rooms were spacious, tiny toilet/shower but the vanity area was a nice addition to make up for it. Biggest downfall was the lack of air movement as there was a strong smell of weed emanating throughout the hotel all week and it didn't matter if you were on the 5th floor or main floor. Also, the restaurant hours could be more user friendly as 10pm on a Friday and Saturday seems early to close. I would stay again but likely would chose an area that had more within walking distance and not having to cross busy streets/intersections to get everywhere.
- 2/5
Our room smelled like cigarettes. The room was clean but the smell was hard to deal with.
- 3/5

I normally don’t write reviews but this hotel went way beyond my expectations. The rooms were clean and spacious. I liked division between the sink/coffee area and sleeping area. Staff was super nice. Especially at the breakfast area. Also, the breakfast! Oh my god, one of the bed best breakfasts I’ve seen.

My husband and I stayed at this property- we booked a suite with the jetted tub. - (the handle kept coming off) but What ruined our stay was someone attempting to get in to our room they were very loud around 10-11pm while we were asleep. I yelled "someone's in here" and then that's when they finally left. Luckily my husband had the bolt as they weren't able to get in. This is not acceptable and could have been worse. The next morning we let someone know at the FD about it and they mistakenly gave our room key to someone. The front desk people assured us that a manager would reach out but no one has and its been a week now. This is very disappointing.

- 4/5
The hotel is well located. The staff was friendly. The rooms were comfortable. It faces a little creek but the garden needs maintenance, it was hard to walk because many branches were in the middle of the path. In the parking lot there were a lot of empty water bottles and cups on the grounds.

Tired of hotels allowing kids birthday party's. We couldnt enjoy the pool or hot tub because of the party's going on. The boy's from 1 party were playing on the elevators and hit the buttons to every floor so we had to stop 6 times b4 we got to our floor.

Booked a room with a jetted tub and stand-up shower in the picture. The room was supplied with 2-in-1 tub and shower with jets. NOT the same. Hotel rooms are outdated. It seems to be a Hilton that got sold to someone unwilling to update the hotel to the new standards.

This hotel had a change in management. We are hoping they new hands will keep it affordable for us to return. Everything so far seems the same but I know there are slight changes. One change that I did notice seems to be the bedding. Our beds had 2 types of sheets, nice crisp breathable cotton sheets and also hot sweaty polyester sheets. I know polyester sheets may be cheaper to use but they sleep too hot. We had a bit of a sweaty, clammy sleep on them. If possible new management please do not switch to those sheets. I had to take the polyester sheet off my bed. Poor husband had to sleep in complete polyester and was soaked every day. Hope cotton will still be the norm and the polyester was just a test.
- 5/5
Everything was and is always great. The only thing that is concerning to me is our beds had all polyester sheets. Please please please don’t switch to these sheets instead of the cotton sheets 🙏. Polyester sheets are sweaty hot for sleeping. I know there is new management there and these type sheets are cheaper but please don’t switch to them. I had one sheet on my bed and my husband had all polyester sheets. I had to take the polyester sheet off as I was soaked from it . He had so suffer in them and he was also soaked. They are sooo uncomfortable. Please consider this request.

We loved our stay…No complaints!!!

For example, hand lotion was provided in a dispenser beside the bathroom sink but no hand soap, not even a little paper-wrapped packet. I had to reach into the shower stall each time I wanted to wash my hands, just to get soap from the dispenser there. The mattress was fine, but I hated the pillows. They were large, hard, heavy and cumbersome to adjust in the night. I woke up several times with an ache in my neck that required ibuprofen to relieve. I appreciated having an ice bucket with plastic liner in my room, but there were no signs anywhere telling me where I would find an ice machine. When I tried to call housekeeping to find out, the phone just rang and rang. I ended up carrying my ice bucket down to the lobby, then had to wait in line to ask the receptionist where I could find ice. It turned out that ice machines are located on two floors only, but even there I found no signs to guide me to them. I had to tote my ice bucket around the entire third floor until, by luck, I found what I was looking for. To me, things like that reveal a lack of attention to the details of what a guest might need or want during their stay. On the other hand, the event that I was there to attend was handled very well. Good food and service in a nice room. So there's that.

My fiancé and I have stayed at the Hilton Chicago/Northbrook a few times, however, the most recent time was exceptional and I must share it with everyone who is trying to find a place to stay when visiting the Chicago area. I realized I left my airpods behind 20 minutes before my flight boards, and my fiancé got in touch with the hotel immediately. Even though they were not able to find my airpods (yet), the lengths the hotel manager went to try to find them was above and beyond.
