Stay Express Inn North Charleston

The second I pulled in there was no doubt I wouldn't be staying at this property. It was trashed & appeared to be very unsafe. I circled around the property to find a man with no shirt and no shoes chasing another man on a bicycle while screaming, cussing and trying to hit him with a stick. There was tons of trash, broken and damaged furnishings & bags of what appeared to be clothing all throughout the parking lot. The "pool" was filled with broken furniture, mattresses & had a tarp on it attempting to cover it. No answer after repeated calls to the property and it appeared to have bulletproof glass at the registration desk. Most of the doors look like they have been beaten in with a sledgehammer. Most windows were broken &/or taped together. I wasn't expecting a luxury resort at the low cost but I wouldn't stay there myself, let alone with my child. Looks like a horrible extended stay property gone wrong! NO I DID NOT STAY OR EVEN GET OUT OF MY CAR! The pics you see AREN'T reality. It should be removed from Expedia.Do not book here!!

Pool not up and running, no breakfast (pretty sure it said breakfast included but not sure) most of the people staying there lived there. Brand new mattresses and showerheads but ever heard the term "Lipstick on a pig"? yeah. that. 100% THAT. Area is unsafe day AND night.

Property site was poorly kept. The nicest thing in the room was the shower head. You could tell the door has been kicked in. Sketchy people outside. Only nice thing about this place is that is like 12 minutes from airport.

- could not get the bathroom door open without banging it off the toilet. - The refrigerator door wouldn’t close, and when I opened it to look inside, there was a dead cockroach on the bottom of it. - it was almost midnight when the smoke alarm in the neighboring room started blaring and would not stop until a maintenance staffer disabled it almost an hour later. - there was a long marble-topped table at one side that was sticking partway out into the room. When I tried to position it closer to the wall, the entire half of the table disengaged and collapsed on itself, and it was very heavy. - 2 remotes for the TV. Only one turned the TV on, and neither one worked beyond that. Then after midnight when the TV started turning on by itself every 15 minutes or so, the only way to make it stop was to remove the plug from the wall. It was plugged in behind that heavy-assed table, too, so that was another unexpected annoyance. There is more, but this is already way too much to have to endure. Shame on this disgusting mess, and shame on Expedia for not doing their due diligence on behalf of my non-refundable business.

Terribly maintained property. No phone in room. Insects in room. The level of misrepresentation in the quality of the website photos vs. the actual room is grounds for prosecution

The room itself was pleasantly not what I expected based on the exterior but was just short of basic with no headboard, working fridge or even a phone in the room. I am embarrassed that I took a chance on this location but I had a reasonable night's sleep and promptly left with all my things accounted for.

I got to this hotel and it was so bad, I wouldn’t stay there. There were prostitutes outside. Cars with broken out windows. BAD area!!

Im still waiting on a refund i did not stay at the motel.

I booked tru Expedia for two nights because the pictures posted online seems okay but when you get to the area. The outside premises is dirty, trashy and needs repair and gives you a feeling of uneasiness and unsafe place to stay. No refund policy but since I paid almost $10 for the insurance on that booking my credit card wasn’t charge $183 for the two nights that I didn’t use.

Worst customer service ever, I tried to get in touch with them to get a refund because I had a issue that I have to attend, and they didn’t pickup that phone, and when they finally did, they denied the refund, do not stay there, is a shame

My husband barricaded the door because it seemed to have prostitution activity as well as drug activity going on around the property. We booked it because it was cheap, so if that’s all you care about by all means book it. But if you want safety and cleanliness don’t choose here.

It was okay the rooms need remodeling bigger soaps bigger pillows

The room was old. No cups or Kleenex. The shower faucet did not work. No shower taken. Would not recommend this place

nothing everything it is literally a mess dirty got a non-smoking room. The sheets had cigarette burns on them stains all over the wall. No smoke detector. Somebody had use the bathroom and the toilet and didn’t flush. I didn’t clean it when I asked for a refund they told me to contact who I’m booking through which I did and they said that I needed to contact the hotel. literally drug deals happen right outside and there are tons of prostitutes everywhere and crackheads.

I like nothing. Place is infested with roaches and people was drinking and yelling all night long. They advertise breakfast and they give nothing. Worst hotel experience in my life Expensive for a minus 5 stars place

The property is in physical disrepair. Wallpaper peeling, loose baseboards, and peeling paint

The place was filthy. The floor was so nasty that walking a few steps from the shower to the bed made the bottoms of my feet pitch black with grime. The bed sheets had burn marks and holes. The water heater is in desperate need of maintenance— the water gets hot enough to cause actual burns after running for a few seconds. There was mold above the shower head, in the ceiling. The lamp above rhe sink was not secured properly (I could spin it like a propeller.) The AC worked but was loud and sounded like it was dying. Only food options available are the vending machines. Bugs kept getting into the room. Lamp beside bed had bulb but didn't work. One single power outlet I could get to that wasn't at the sink. Cleaning staff didn't knock and would have barged in on me changing my clothes if it wasn't for the metal door later lock thing.

This is a last resort place to stay. No redeeming qualities to speak of.

It was filthy. I will never stay at that ace again. Extremely bad neighborhood, drug addicts sleeping in the stairway, trash piled up in the corner, bathtub was disgusting, no amenities whatsoever. Bad bad experience

Do not stay here, I can't believe hotels.com even has this building as an option.

The room had dead flies, bedbugs and roaches on the floor. I gave the front desk clerk the keycard and told him we are not staying in the room.

Outdated. Room was dirty and smelled really bad. Prostitution going on at the property. Please don’t ever stay here

The area was unacceptable and so was the room dirty towels cigarette holds in the comforter and dirty pillow cases and people and children hanging out.

I didn’t like anything, its smells bad, cigarettes burn on the sheets and it’s supposed to be none smoking but the room smells like smoke. And i saw someone trying to break in on one car so I left the place ASAP

It was awful. No cups, no ashtray, no washrags. The room was awful. I've stayed here alot and this was bad. Serious fighting in the next room. It was a terrible night.

Rude nasty drug addicts prostitutes someone tried to break in

The area is bad to start with and the rooms smelt bad sheets was dingy covers had burn holes , paint was peeling off the walls and the shower was rigged u either get hot hot water or cold cold water the tub had burn marks on the siding and the lights by the sink was not working and to top it off there infested with roaches I wanted a refund but they wouldn't give it to me they either need to shut it down or renovations need to be done and prices should be from $30 a night to $50 a night for there best rooms

This stay it was absolutely terrible it was unclean bugs everywhere will never stay again. Found clothes behind bathroom door . Pool unclean and needle behind microwave

Got to the hotel to check in and was informed that the booking was no good coming from Orbitz they do not except bookings from Orbitz so I was without a room and without my money

Clean. Not in good repair. Diffficukt to find at night, behing another building. Heater ran almost continuously all night. Inexpensive.

I advise anybody to stay far away from this place this place is absolutely disgusting! I never felt unsafe and disgusted in my life, this place is where the drug dealers and prostitutes live and make money. From being woken up in the middle of the night by screaming fighting witnessing a woman with a bloody nose after a fight with a man blood was all up the stairs. The room was disgusting I normally don't walk around barefooted but when I did I picked up my feet and my feet was black as night on the bottom, holes was in the walls , a high stinch of cologne was in the room brown stuff was sliding down the bathroom door and the wash cloths and towel was disgraceful there was stains in everyone and I asked for new ones and there was stains in them as well . This place needs to be torn down i don't understand why it's still in business as much as I seen police coming through there left and right.

Car was broken into 10/8/19 and before that the night I checked in I pulled up to the hotel after having drove 12 hours arriving around 11pm 10/6/19 there was a crime scene a shooting had occurred ,police tape (yellow) everywhere. STAFF WAS VERY UNCOOPERATIVE ,VERY ARROGANT THE OWNERS, I FILED A POLICE REPORT AND HAD TO WAITED SEVERAL DAYS TO GET IT FROM CITY HALL AND WAIT FOR THE POLICE TO APPROVE IT IN ORDER TO GET THE HOTEL TO DO SOMETHING, NASTY EXPERIENCE ! DO NOT STAY AT THE STAY EXPRESS INN ALSO CALLED THE Manner Inn

Dont ever check into this hotel. Their was feces on the toilet, roaches dead in hotel. We left immediately, and wanted a credit for our 3 night stay and they acted like they didnt know how to credit my account. It looked like a crack addicts paradise. Worst hotel ive ever looked at. Horrible!

Also contacted Expedia for a refund and they were unhelpful as well, just telling me to contact the hotel myself. If that worked, would I be complaining to Expedia? No. Also filed a report with the BBB, we'll see how that shakes out.

The room was disgusting black stains on the white walls and smelt like a morgue

This place was filthy. Fridge was unplugged and water all over the floor.

It was not as described and the environment was not family-friendly.
