Terrible experience, room was cold, then when you turn the air conditioner off. Room gets hot and muggy quick.

While we were there the water was off from 10am until 4pm ( the entire building) no bathroom or nothing with water was working......smh this happened both days I was booked there and they didn't bother to tell me this before I checked in. The pool was supposed to be heated.....nope it was ice cold

Nice sized room. Friendly and helpful staff. Gym was okay, just needs a pulley system to make it more complete. There was some construction going on, so the water was off most of the day.

This is one of the top 3 rooms and hotels we've ever stayed at in our many years of travelling. The 420 square foot studio felt like a home away from home for two people plus two dogs and the hotel itself was very clean, looked new, and was staffed by friendly helpful people. The location next to the Performing Arts Center and across from high end apartments also could not be beat - close to good dining and shopping and two minutes from the freeway. My wife made me promise to always come back here every future visit to Charleston.

The staff were very nice. Wish they would have had a manager there to deal with all the toilet issues though. The toilet did not work and it made our room smell like poop all night. The gals at the front desk gave me a plunger and said that they had no rooms to change me into. I will not be staying here again.

Well, staff tried to help… but the room was discussing. Water all on the carpet, huge wet stain on the couch. Pillows have nasty yellow stains. The kicker is when I called the front desk to get help with the room they ask my name… said “who are you??”.. they checked me under another guest name!! Still waiting to get the stay figured out.

I wasn't able to stay here because I wasn't notified that there was a problem with the payment until I got to the hotel. Never received an email to the email provided at reservation. I was told by the front desk because Expedia reached out to them about the issue regarding payment they canceled the reservation. Me and family had to try and find something at the last minute. I don't plan to use Expedia again.

T V was not working needed to call front desk, also the Toilet tank didn't fill up after flushing needed repairing was done the next day.

We didn’t use the amenities, just a room. It was gray everything which looks very ussr to me. The couch was just ok comfortable and the bed was one of the hardest I ever slept in. Nice layout. Nice gray room. Just not the most comfortable sleep.

The room was large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and it was conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and Starbucks.

They were under construction, but we were informed of this when booking and checking and in. The staff was very accommodating.

Check-in was quick and easy. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options — including my favorite, a waffle maker! Everything throughout the hotel was very clean and well maintained. During non-rush hour times, an Uber to downtown Charleston cost about $16. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

First time at Hyatt Place sc location was nice. Sheena at the front desk was awesome. She made our long trip so meaningful. She was kind, professional, caring , godly young woman. She loved her job and it was evident that she was just a generally caring person. My mobility is not good and she went above and beyond from the first greeting to our last step. Kindness is a rarity but it goes so far and speaks volumes about a person. God bless Sheena in all that she does to help strangers feel comfortable loved and not hurried through. My husband and I would give her 10 0 stars if that was an option. Keep that young lady as the face of Hyatt Place as she is definitely the real deal. Because of her and the many nice amenities we will be staying there whenever we visit our family or travel just for a weekend get away. Lived the room and conveniences. Everyone we encountered were nice and accommodating . Customer service is hard work but can be so rewarding when done with a caring attitude. Sheena has ALL the wonderful qualities that seasoned customers and others seek and deserve. Thank God for Sheena and many many Blessings for her is our prayer.

Hotel needs updating, bar area is substandard, small tv. Staff was very frienfly snd helpful. Rooms need renovating, broken blinds, loud a/c, water in shower was strictly hot. The $250 deposit for locals is too high and seems discriminatory. Why charge locals more? This hotel is not a top three choice for future visits.

Staff was wonderful, room clean, beds comfy, nice pillow selection, quiet, good water pressure and temp, spacious, if traveling alone it is great. However, if traveling with multiple people…just know that the bathroom sink is at the foot of the bed so there is no sneaking out unnoticed.

Although the room was spacious, I didn't really care for the separation of the sink being outside the bathroom. My husband said the bed was a little hard for him.

The property and staff were great. We chose this hotel because of the indoor pool and my daughter definitely enjoyed the pool although it could be bigger. The breakfast was good on certain days and there was a nice variation of items to choose from. The location was great as well. The bed was so uncomfortable. My girlfriend and I both woke up with body aches from the hard mattress. I have a bad back and it amplified my back problems sleeping on the hard mattress. The air in the room was also dry and we both woke up with dry, sore throats. The AC unit was also very loud. If the mattress was replaced for a softer more comfortable one then the other issues listed would’ve been minor.

Ashton (manager?) was great when the pool was closed for maintenance. Offered us to go to a nearby affiliate hotel to use their pool in the meantime. Offered us free drinks from the grab and go section for our inconvenience. The breakfast was hot and plentiful. The rest of the staff was kind and accommodating. I did ask the desk agent to not repeat my personal data out loud at check in and she ignored my ask & continued to do so; I’d recommend better training on this. All guests should feel safe and secure.

Rooms were very clean and staff was friendly and pleasant. The breakfast area needs to be setup a little different to make it easier and more accommodating for hotel guest to get their food.

When we first got to the hotel and checked in and went to our room it was discovered that the toilet didn’t flush. The staff gave us another room without any issues. The 2nd rooms bathroom was disgusting. It had pubic hair in several places in the stand up shower and all over the bathroom floor. The cleanliness of the rooms especially the bathroom needs some significant improvement. Other than that the breakfast was great and the pool and gym room were nice as well.

Staff was wonderful they not only interacted with myself but also my two small children, breakfast was fresh and delicious standard hotel foods. Room was spacious and comfy clean no stains, funny smells or dust. Truly a great experience over all, would be super happy to stay here again

LOVED our stay! Room was spacious and clean and no weird musty smell like some hotels! Carpet was clean and didn't turn our socks black. Housekeeping was able to come in daily and make our beds and vacuum and give fresh towels and take out our trash which was so nice and appreciated. Indoor pool was so much fun for the kids and family. Great place to stay for our family vacation. Breakfast was good and something different everyday which was appreciated by all! Very happy with this hotel and staff was friendly.

I absolutely love staying at any Hyatt Place but this one is by far my most favorite!! The location is lovely, the staff is incredible, and my room was gorgeous 😍😍😍 I loved it!!

The room was clean for the most part. They do need to train housekeeping to clean under furniture and in corner areas. I found small toys and trash under beds. Also found medication (two different types of pills) under the edge of the sofa. Thankfully my small dog didn’t find them first. Overall staff was great. One lady that works front desk was always overwhelmed (perhaps she’s new, idk). And I’d prefer disposable plates, cups, etc for the breakfast, which is the usual breakfast type items you typically find with a free breakfast. The location is great. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Topgolf is two blocks away. And many tourists attractions within a 30 minute drive.

Good place to stay. Easy in/out to surrounding sites. Close to shopping and convenience stores. I found the included breakfast a little lacking. However the exercises room was 1st class.

The check in was fast and easy and the front desk was helpful. The first room they put me in had such a terrible old and misty smell I had to walk out immediately. I asked for another room and they accommodated me right away. The next room was fine but the carpets looked old and worn. The blinds didn’t close all the way but otherwise the room was quiet. It’s clear it’s an old hotel and needs some updating. The breakfast was good and the fitness center was nice as well. For the price it’s not bad but not the best.

Melissa made the check-in experience wonderful. She was so friendly and helpful! She recommended the Chill 'n Grill and I went there for dinner. My room was so lovely, it literally made me gasp when I entered it. I looked exactly like the pictures and was spacious, beautiful and comfortable! If I'm in Charleston, I'll be staying at the Hyatt Place!

Great service , clean, quite easy parking , friendly staff.

Would go back. Very happy with our stay.

Thermostat in room was not functional as I couldn’t adjust it. Room temps varied from 65 to 78 at one point and I couldn’t sleep well because I kept having to get in and out of the covers. Staff was what i expect of a Hyatt property but the room temperature issue was a big deal.

Everything about it was great!

We have stayed here many times while visiting family that live in the area. It is super convenient, nearby to all restaurants and shopping, and very clean! We enjoy the ease of check in, the friendliness of the staff, and the clean and larger rooms!

Breakfast was good but they ran out of spme food like eggs and bagels and refused to bring out more.. i asked and they kept saying no.
