Reviews
The hotel staff, particularly Evan at the front desk and the staff at Starbucks, were frequently praised for being wonderful, accommodating, and efficient. The location was also a common positive, being close to downtown Normal and Illinois State University campus. However, there were several complaints about cleanliness, with guests finding dirty bathrooms, unclean rooms, and old water in the ice bucket. The breakfast was also a point of contention, with some guests praising it and others finding it subpar.
- Wonderful, accommodating, and efficient staff
- Great location close to downtown Normal and Illinois State University campus
- Cleanliness issues in rooms and bathrooms
- Inconsistent quality of breakfast

Parking is difficult
- 5/5
Parking is the only drawback. It is in a parking garage and if weather is bad is inconvenient. Also it is a walk to get to the elevators in the garage.
- 5/5
I can't speak about breakfast, because every time we stay here, we have to get up and leave around 6 a.m. which makes us too early for breakfast. We stay here because the rooms are super nice and comfortable, it's conveniently located next to tons of awesome restaurants (DP Dough is amazing!!), and the staff are the most friendly hotel staff I've ever encountered. Even when we come in looking like raggamuffins who've been driving all day, they are super nice. There's a Starbucks attached to it too, which is convenient. They pay for your parking (I didn't know this the first time I stayed with them). You just drive into the garage and find a spot, then go down to the street level and walk to the hotel which is just right down the street. If you have a lot of heavy luggage, you might want to pull up and drop one of your people off with the bags before you park to make it easier, but we always just carry ours - it's a short walk. It's on the pricier side of hotels compared to others I stay at. BUT we still choose to stay here when there are cheaper options because it is that awesome every single time. I was stressed at first with the parking garage because I'm from a small town and not used to that, but it's honestly not that bad once you get used

Room is clean and big enough to accommodate three people

Overall not bad. Some of breakfast was cold and should have been warm. No pool due to maintenance. Lock on inside of bathroom door was broke but the outside part worked

Disappointed in pool being under construction. I live in town. Spent 445$ to get 2 rooms for a birthday party specifically wanting a pool only to find out after check in that the pool is under construction and after looking at the pool there was a work order on The door posted back in December 2025. Would have picked the hotel cross the street if I would have known that. Disclosing broken/missing amenities should be required.
- 5/5
The staff really made my visit great. Deseree at the front desk was always smiling, friendly and helpful. The breakfast could be better.
- 4.5/5
It was clean and comfortable. Located close to restaurants.
- 5/5
Staff was professional and friendly. I ordered one of their special June drinks at the bar and had it up in their terrace. Very nice comfortable space and the drink was delicious. Walking distance to the University and right across the street from Amtrak station. Our room was spacious and clean. We liked that we had free parking and the breakfast was nice too. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, waffles, cereals, oatmeal and they had oat milk which is what I like to have with my breakfast. Definitely will be staying here again.
- 5/5
The location was perfect. We went for a college orientation at Illinois Wesleyan and the hotel was only three minutes away, which was awesome. Also there was all kinds of different food options down the road There was free parking but it wasn’t ideal, had to walk across street to parking garage.

Location and very comfortable I reserved 3 rooms for 2 nights each and one room i reserved a third night.this was a family trip for my so s college graduation. I reserved these rooms almost a year in advance.I called numerous time to check on the reservation because i was traveling with family and wanted things to go smoothy. On the second day i received a phone call from the hotel saying that we only reserved one of the rooms For one night. I spoke with the fro t desk and they said i needed to call booking since i reserved with booking. I got them on the phone and put them on speaker with the hotel front desk and she heard that i reserved for two nights. She said ok and i confirmed that we were set. I left for my sons graduation and on my way out saw the lady at the front desk and confirmed that we would be good again. A hour later ( at my sons graduation ) i received a call from the hotel stating that we will have to leave our hotel room. After explaining that we just talked and i was told that everything was good she said that i was wrong and she was talking to another customer. I was so upset and told her that i am at my so s graduation and we will be back in a few hours. I told her that we will need to figure this out when i get back. I voicemail during my si s graduation that we would not need to move to another hotel. I did not get a explanation of why this happened but i was just happy it got figured out but then my parents( same reservation) received the same call and was told they only reserved the room for one night and would need to find another hotel. I was so embarrassed and really did not know where this was coming from. I had reserved this a year in advance and had all the documentation of these reservation. They had no explanation and were not sorry. The hotel was nice but this all was very upsetting and i am not certain what they were trying to accomplish by saying we did not reserve our rooms.

The pool was down for maintenance. The exercise room, 2 bikes were broken, there was NO sanitizer bottles or wipes to wipe down the equipment, hand sanitizer was empty. The kitchen staff was very nice, but the microwave had not been cleaned in a while, reminds you of a college microwave.

The shower stall was not as clean as it should have been, especially the grout around the edges. I considered picking up Tylex to spray on it like I would at home! The “second day cleaning” also did not happen. Also, there is a problem with people who are not guests at the hotel coming in and loading up on food at the breakfast Buffett. One group even took plates “to go”. We watched this happen both days we were there, so more security is in order for the hotel at that location. This also makes the actual guests feel uncomfortable.

Amazing staff!!! Ruth was amazing at check in. The families were nice during breakfast. My son was disappointed the pool was closed but still enjoyed being able to walk around Uptown. A little stretch walking with a toddler to the parking garage due to some drivers just don’t have patience. 10/10 cannot wait to stay again.

They staff were very helpful in giving instructions, etc., but I did expect more and am more disappointed with hotels.com that this distinguishing factor was not quickly apparent when booking online using their app. This feels like something a human could correct instead of letting a computer "take care of everything."

Absolutely nothing! My family and I contacted your facility through Booking.com several times to give an estimated arrival time. When we got there the receptionists comes out loudly stating that we have no room. That you were overbooked. How in the world do you allow someone who is traveling to come to your location without a warning that they have no where to lay there head at night. Then the receptionist tells us they will send us to another hotel and that the Hyatt would foot the bill, only to get to the other hotel and they have no idea what we were talking about. Once everything settles down and we unpack, we find out that the door to our new room at the other hotel, Hilton Inn and Suites in Normal is broken. We have to pack up that room, resettle only to find out in the middle of the night that the room has a roach in it. All stemming from the fact that NO ONE from the original hotel, the Hyatt in Bloomington gave us any warning that they were overbooked. Inhumane and NOT thinking of others. THAT is what I did not like!

Breakfast although complimentary can be a lot better. The waffles and potatoes were hard everyday. The yogurt bar wasn't fresh. Both apple and orange juice didn't taste well. There were soiled bowls with cleaned ones, more improperly cleaned. Rooms should have a microwave. The restaurant food wasn't too good, but priced fairly. Starbucks is conveniently attached to the building. The hotel was quiet and staff were amazing. The bar was very helpful. The room was clean and stocked with towels, toilet paper and toiletries. Out of the entire stay breakfast is 3/10. And everything else is 7/10.

The hotel felt luxurious, in terms of the lobby and our room. The on-site restaurant was more of a slightly elevated pub, so we opted not to eat dinner there, but we enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

The hotel was beautiful. Very comfortable. Front desk were very friendly. Girl behind the bar at night in the lobby was extremely rude to guests around us. We saw everything unfold and how she spoke to them was terrible. We had around a dozen people with us and others at the bar that witnessed everything. Because of this we will never return. See above. Bartender should be fired after how she behaved towards others that night.
- 4/5
Got an upper floor room which I requested. Was very quiet. Clean. Should have been told the parking was in a ramp across the street with no connecting walkway. Real hassle. No one at the front desk most of the time. Wanted to inform someone that there is a short in the bathroom light. Half the time it wouldn’t turn on, sparked once. No one to tell when we left.

Nice room. Really enjoyed the lobby lounge area and the breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
- 1/5
Property was OK but over priced and the staff was terrible . Manager Wanda was rude and even called the police to have us removed . We paid for a room with a single king bed and was given 2 doubles. When I complained or asked for a credit to ny bill she refused because I purchased through a 3rd party (Expedia) . Also kids were in the hall ways screaming and yelling . If you book through a 3rd party the hotel says you can be treated like a 2nd class citizen .

It started with a wonderful welcoming experience from Simone. She was kind, sweet and friendly. I also had a slight but urgent need as after I checked out and returned home, I noticed I had forgotten my headphones under the bed covers. I immediately called the front desk and spoke with Desiree who understood the assignment!!! Please find my headphones! She immediately ran up to check and returned with great news. She made sure to mention they were going to be safe and secure in the managers office. I will be returning again, not only for my expensive headphones, but just to enjoy and re-experience this again! Everything was perfect not one single complaint

Love the Hyatt brand!
- 3/5
While I appreciate the staff trying to help, I don’t feel it’s reasonable for a guest to repeatedly fix a maintenance issue during their stay. Given the inconvenience, I believe it would have been appropriate to offer some form of compensation or a small discount on the room. I just wanted to bring this to your attention so situations like this can be handled differently in the future.

This hotel is a disgrace to the Hyatt brand. The pool was being renovated, which was not stated online. The staff did tell us it is stated in ‘fine print’ at check out. The outlets in the room were either loose or didn’t work at all. The refrigerator did not get cold. The bathroom sink was cracked. The stairway was dirty and had piles of leaves in it. We are giving it 2 stars simply because the staff was very friendly and attempted to resolve the pool issue by offering to refund our money and cancel our stay, but because we had booked through Expedia there was nothing they could do.
- 1/5
I booked 3 rooms as I manage the travel for a band that was performing in the area. 2 king rooms and 1 double Queen with a pull out. The double was for 3 men in the band. I called the day before to confirm rooms and all was confirmed. Upon check in we were informed the manager made the decision to switch our double to another king and there were no doubles left. I was told they have the right to change our rooms....REALLY?!!! I will NEVER book a Hyatt place for any bands, myself or my husbands travels.
- 3/5
The room is requested was not available so I ended up in a room with 2 queen beds. Not a big deal but the black-out shade didn’t work so I felt like I had no privacy since there were windows to other buildings right outside. The bathroom sink had a huge crack and chunk taken out of it. I’m surprised it wasn’t leaking. All night long there was a clicking noise that kept me up half the night. I finally figured out in the morning that there were messages left on the phone that were causing it so beep. When I checked into the room there were messages on the phone. The breakfast in the morning was terrible. Worst than a motel! I took one bite of eggs and threw the rest away. I was extremely disappointed in this Hyatt.

- 3.5/5
It was clean and modern. No toiletries in the room. Just a bar of soap. I was given a room with an ADA shower. Not the end of the world but the bathroom was a lake as a result. What really bothered me was being chased out of the room by housekeeping. No one from the hotel should be knocking on the door at 9:15 a.m. on any day and certainly not on a Sunday. And she came back at 10:30. What is the rush? If you’re going to charge $300 for a “city view” room, maybe tell people that what they’re actually going to “view” is the parking garage across the street. And providing lotion wouldn’t hurt.

Location It was a cold walk that weekend!

As my family had pizza delivered for dinner, a customer and the clerk got into a heated argument, to the point where the police were called, all while families were in the lobby. The bartender tried to help out and was told by the clerk not to speak to the customer.

- 4/5
The breakfast was limited-not a lot of variety. Thin cheap paper plates were left out for the guest to use. Where are the plates? Our room had a strange issue. The dresser drawer did not stay closed. When you try to close it, the drawer would slowly creepily slide open.

The hotel was well equipped to meet all my needs during my stay.

Nice hotel. A minor complaint. Saturday morning's breakfast items were cold - not even luke warm. Sunday they were all good.
- 5/5

- 1/5
Unfortunately we ended up in the room with a heat vent so loud that it kept us up all night! It was terrible! Also, don’t even consider going to a Hyatt bar downstairs because it’s so bad and so overpriced for premixed drinks. The bartender swears and it’s really bad! We were shocked! Go to any other bar down the street and you’ll be much more happier with your choice. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel had very friendly, kind staff, a nice breakfast and area to eat, free parking, and was very conveniently located. We were disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance and the room was only semi-clean. There was dirt/something brown on one of the pillows, the floor was stained, and the area around the trashcan had bits of trash all around the outside. I would stay again if the room hadn’t been so dirty.

The Hyatt met and far exceeded our expectations. When we walked in, the staff greeted us and were super friendly. Check-in was super easy. My only critique is that I didn't realize they were going to give us complimentary parking in the garage, so I paid with the parking app prior to going in. This may have been stated in the reservation documents, but I didn't read thoroughly, so I'm not sure (definitely won't count this against them). We will know next time that the parking is complimentary. The room was beautiful and unique with a sliding glass door on the bathroom, spacious and pretty bathroom. The beds were very comfortable with comfortable pillows. We do not say that often - most hotels we don't return to because of the pillow quality (I know it sounds high maintenance, which I am not, but when we wake up with neck pain in a hotel, we don't go back)! The absolute best thing about this hotel is the location and all the restaurants around it. Within just a 4 or 5 minute walk are TONS of great places. Five of the places we were interested in were all together right across from eachother a 4-minute walk down the street - D.P. Dough, The Coffeehouse, Nautical Bowls, Insomnia Cookies, and Pizza Payaa. There is a starbucks connected to the hotel. All you have to do is take the elevator to the 1st floor, then literally right next to it is the starbucks door. We will stay here every time we are in the area!

Everything about this hotel was great, from the staff, to the room attendants, to the great complimentary breakfast. Even when the power was out, not the hotels fault, the whole area arpund the university was out, the staff provided ice water and did the best they could to make us comfortable. The room was clean, bathroom was bery clean and spacious. It is very close to the University and we could walk everywhere we needed to go. Parking is right across the street, very accessible. Will definitely stay here whenever we go to ISU.
- 5/5
The staff members were really great. We had a family member in a wheelchair and they were so accommodating. The bed was really really comfortable. The breakfast was very good. I was surprised. The area is very safe and the parking garage is right across the street. I would highly recommend this place as it is cheaper than the Marriott and located right across the street. We also had our dog with us and they were very, very nice to our dog. Staff was wonderful.

Booked this stay for ISU family weekend. I thought the accommodations were excellent and very well priced. I would definitely recommend!
- 4/5
Convenient location to the college.
- 1/5
I'm very disappointed. I was misled!! I booked 2 beds with a sofa, but upon arrival, it was 1 bed with a sofa and there are FOUR of us. There was no one to talk to except for the only one person at the front desk who was very nice but left without any assistance and with no manager. I definitely DO NOT RECCOMEND this hotel, especially for ISU's Family Weekend!! It is overpriced for these standards. -Room 714
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
We stayed for one night on our way home. It is really close to the university, and university housing. I was worried about the noise but the rooms were really quiet, really clean. Breakfast was great lots of options.
- 5/5
Nice clean property
- 5/5
Very nice, clean well kept and close to restaurants.
- 5/5
Nice and clean.
- 5/5
Love the location and the cleanliness
- 4/5
Nice clean..in good order
- 1/5
The worst place to stay!!! AC ducting was so noisy that I did not sleep 1 hr!! All night long a loud noise and humming was heard keep me awake all night!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!
- 5/5
clean room
- 4/5
Our bathroom door got stuck shut with someone in it. We got it open enough for them to come out but after 1 night they couldn’t fix it and made us pack up and move rooms without any discounts or apologies. Total inconvenience as we were there for school related times meetings and we were made to pack up and move without any discounts or the inconvenience.
- 2/5
This is more about a staff member. Upon arrival I ask the desk clerk where I could park. Was told across the street in a parking garage (no problem). I parked the car and seen a sign on how to download the app and enter a zone number and how many days I would be there. Cost was $16.00. Went back to the hotel and told same staff member I needed to have shuttle service in the morning to the airport. Was told I had to schedule 24 hrs in advance. Nothing on website stated this. That was a major perk of me staying there. The car that I parked was not mine. So needless to say I had to get an Uber for $18.00 to the airport. Upon speaking to another staff member I found out that I did not have to pay for the parking garage because the plate number was put into the computer at check in. So in total I paid $34.00 that was completely unnecessary. The parking thing should have been told to me the instant I asked where to park. As for the shuttle I was asking 12 hrs in advance again nothing on the website about a 24 hr notice. Communication is KEY.
- 5/5
Clean , great location. Staff friendly & good service !
- 5/5
So close to campus and in the adorable uptown Normal area. You absolutely can't go wrong with this hotel. It's gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and the staff are helpful and polite.
- 5/5
The hotel provides outstanding rooms and facilities for the price. The view from the lobby windows captures the cozy and welcoming charm of a small town. The area feels very safe, with many students walking around, adding a lively atmosphere. Conveniently, the building right next door serves both as a parking lot and as the city hall.
- 5/5
IT WAS A GGOD PLACE TO SPEND A NIGHT
- 5/5
Everything was clean staff was super friendly and easy to get along with. Breakfast was excellent and was real food and not the normal hotel powdered eggs
- 5/5
The property was very clean. Breakfast was filling (buffet style) and employees were kind.
- 5/5
This was the first time I've stayed at a Hyatt Place. I loved it. It was well appointed, clean and the staff was great. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Enjoyable stay
- 5/5
Also, the room’s bathroom has a great bathroom fan.
- 5/5
Clean and fresh rooms. Friendly staff. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Our bathroom door was broken, but besides that we have always had great stays there!
- 4/5
Staff was amazing!
- 3/5
It’s clean however carpets are stained and dirty. Staff is extremely wonderful!!!
- 4/5
The room was spacious, immaculate, comfortable bed, blinds were able to COMPLETELY block out daylight, which was awesome for sleeping late! Things I'd look at: toilet seat was barely connected, and could use attention. Otherwise bathroom was very clean and shower was fantastic! Desk chair should be updated -- not very comfortable and couldn't get a good height for the day I had to work out of the room (I used couch cushions to help). But the wifi was strong (and there was an ethernet cable available), the desk space was fantastic, and I was able to work a full day with no interruptions. Finally I think the rooms are ready for smart TVs. I would have liked to watch my streaming services from my phone, but was not able to. That said, there was plenty of programming, and the TV was big and clear. Breakfast is always very nice -- good hours, good coffee, plenty of options. Cinnamon bread this trip was insanely good. But waffles and french toast continue to be the weak point -- always very tough and dry or overcooked? And they've been the same over every trip I've made here.
- 5/5
It was close to ISU. Parking garage is easy and safe. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Very very nice hotel
- 5/5
The young woman working the front desk during check in was awesome. Super respectful and knowledgeable.
- 4/5
The room was clean and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
The rooms were nice sized, modern & clean. The free parking and close proximity to plenty of restaurants was a plus.
- 4/5
This place needs an upgrade and refresh
- 3/5
The property is starting to show its wear and tear
- 5/5
Great location to Normal's Downtown area and to my daughter's school
- 4/5
We couldn't believe there was no microwave in our room!
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
Very nice stay. My only hesitation is about the parking, which was free but across the street in a public parking garage. That said, it was pretty hassle-free.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and kind especially at the front desk! I was a little bit late for breakfast but the kitchen staff allowed me to grab a plate before they started to clean up which was much appreciated! Thank you for that. I was happy with the cleanliness of my room. I thought it was a very pretty touch of the room divider or whatever it was in the room that’s in between the sofa and bed that kinda separates the two spaces. I would definitely stay at this location again and recommend it to others.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay in Bloomington/Normal. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There were dining options within walking distance. The area was clean and safe. Our room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
We ate dinner at an amazing Mexican restaurant around the corner, Hacienda Leon, walked back to the hotel, and all was good! Beautiful hotel. Quiet and clean
- 5/5
The style of the hotel was excellent, and the staff attentive to detail. In a very nice location.
- 5/5
Clean and front desk was very helpful
- 5/5
Bed comfy 😀
- 5/5
, comfortable, and good breakfast. Excellent front desk help.
- 5/5
Nice easy checkin, wrong size room, immediately corrected.
- 5/5
This was a very classy property in the middle of campus. The area was clean, and we felt safe.
- 5/5
Good breakfast, clean rooms, great showers comfortable beds
- 5/5
This was a nice stop for us on a road trip. The area is walkable. Nice restaurants, shops, coffee shops. Hotel was lovely, well taken care of. Staff was pleasant and responsive. Breakfast was good.
- 5/5
One of the nicest chain hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. Great shower and comfortable beds, lots of space with a sectional and a desk. Breakfast choices were varied and Starbucks in the lobby was convenient if that’s your thing. They also only held $15 for incidentals instead of the $50 some of our other recent hotel stays have charged. We slept better than we usually do in hotels, and appreciated the free parking across the street. Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Normal.
- 3/5
Despite booking our reservation over a week in advance, we were frustrated to arrive in the late afternoon only to be told the hotel was overbooked. With no room available, we had to gather our family and luggage and walk across the street to the Marriott, where we were rebooked at no extra cost. While we appreciate not being charged more, the inconvenience and disruption to our plans were significant.
- 3/5
For being a Hyatt Hotel, which I thought were in the upper end of hotels, it was not up to the level of the hotels we usually stay at.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Quiet and comfortable
- 4/5
Based on the Hotels.com rating of "Wonderful" I had very high expections for this property. I appreciated the free garage parking across the street. However, the room was not exceptional as I would expect of a Hyatt property. The black-out roller shade was broken and stuck in the up position. The free breakfast was nice. And in a pinch, one evening I was hoping for a quick meal, which the Hotel advertised throughout. However, b/c there was no bartender available that afternoon/evening, I was not able to get anything that evening. The local surrounding options were just to my likeing or those that were closed at 8pm???
- 4/5
Close to college within walking distance!
- 5/5
Love the proximity to campus.
- 2/5
When we arrived, our room(two queen bed w/sitting area) that was booked was no longer available so they told us they gave us an upgraded route. When they open the door to the room, it had one queen bed. After a trip to the desk, Telling them this just wasn't gonna work amazingly figured out that they did have the room. What a joke for over $200 a rip off
- 4/5
The person who checked us out was not efficient. The place appears to be understaffed.
- 5/5
We found my earrings but no luck on my ring. Shortly after I left I received a phone call that they had found my ring. I’m so impressed with their customer service and the kindness they showed. I wish I remembered the ladies name that helped me because she was great! I can’t thank her enough!
- 5/5
Close to ISU. Choose higher floor the horns from cars woke me up. Other than that amazing hotel.
- 5/5
Overall good. Carpet was dirty and left your feet dirty walking back and forth between bathroom and bed.
- 3/5
LOVE the neighborhood and the excellent coffee shop and Italian restaurant just around the corner. Cute shops and a CVS in walking distant. Very pedestrian friendly. Bed was a little too soft and unstructured for my comfort.
- 4/5
It was good.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Excellent location. Very clean.
- 5/5
Very clean, modern and fantastic location to ISU campus.
- 3/5
The couch had stains. The AC unit was nosey and an occasional smell came across the room. Horrendous smell for a few mins then went away .3 times that i noticed. Like feces.
- 5/5
The staff was very professional. The complimentary breakfast was better than most… it was made fresh, served hot and very tasty. We will definitely stay again.
- 2/5
The only reason I got the room was because of the pool, to hear that it was closed was very disappointing
- 5/5
Very easy to find. Great location. Walking distance to plenty of food. Check in was very quick and easy. The ladies at the desk were great and provided answers to all my questions. Bonus - there is a starbucks in the building.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly and walking distance to ISU!
- 5/5
Hotel is clean and staff very accommodating.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff! Wonderful free breakfast!
- 4/5
First, I paid for a Double Queen and got a King room. We made it work and it did not inconvenience our family. There was a pull out couch, which we just slept on the couch. There was an additional pillow and sheet, but no blanket. I am certain we could have gotten one if it was needed. Our problem was the noise from the street being on a corner room. They have 3 large rooms. So if you are looking for quiet room ask for a room in the middle of the hotel. Great stay otherwise
- 3/5
Blinds torn, shower gel cap broken, bathroom door, lock, broken, and there was leakage around the bottom of the toilet.
- 5/5
Clean, nice breakfast buffet, nice patio
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable
- 5/5
Convenient and clean. Breakfast is excellent!
- 5/5
This hotel is in a great location with so many restaurants in the area. The hotel was very clean from the lobby, hallways and the room. Will definitely be booking another stay at that location!
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. Starbucks connected to hotel
- 4/5
Unfortunately the bathroom door couldn’t be locked cause it didn’t close all the way. The shower never got hot. Cool or luke warm showers only. And we learned after they didn’t clean our room that they only clean the room every other day. So we asked for more towels and lived with the disappointment.
- 5/5
Great place to stay and an easy walk to campus!
- 5/5
Great location, great service
- 3/5
I understand that early check-in is not guaranteed, but my suggestion is to avoid telling guests that it is available when it is not, as this can be misleading. That said, we were glad to be able to store our bags at the front desk until check-in time at 3 PM.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel for a very reasonable price.
- 5/5
Very good location and amenities.
- 5/5
Great location and the staff was very friendly!
- 5/5
Rooms are large and clean and beds are super comfortable
- 5/5
Great location. Easy to park and free! Would stay here again.
- 1/5
Hyatt Place is my first choice of places to stay when I’m away from home. On Sunday May 4th around 2AM in the morning my 20 year old son went down to the lobby to sit and was told by the staff on duty, that he was not allowed to be in the lobby. We reached out to the manager ant 8AM, and she stated she would address the issue. We told her that we would follow up with her outcome on the discipline action plan. We’ve called and left messages several times for the manager to no avail. We are of African descent. Thank you for your time.
- 5/5
We stayed while moving our daughter out of her dorm room at ISU. So conveniently located. GREAT breakfast, clean rooms, super friendly staff. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Our stay was beyond perfect.
- 5/5
No a fan of parking facility being across the street but overall a good hotel.
- 5/5
Great place, close to the university!
- 2/5
No bottled water available, when I asked the front office staff, they didn't show any interest on providing any assistance about getting a basic and simple need, one bottled water.
- 4/5
Front desk staff was not always there. Would have been nice to have room service food.
- 5/5
Nice clean property with great staff!
- 4/5
Bed comfy and linens were soft. Pillows nice. Sofa needed an update but I didn’t use it or need it. Room clean and staff very professional and customer service oriented.
- 4/5
I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and it’s always a lovely stay. The room and staff did not disappoint however the breakfast buffet was underwhelming this time unfortunately with potatoes and French toast sticks being the only option with no protein being provided. I’ll still stay here again and hope this was a one off experience.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, staff friendly. No carts to take up luggage. Parking is not connected to hotel, across the street, half block down. Hard to deal with luggage
- 5/5
Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Very clean, quiet, and comfortable
- 3/5
Average hotel for relatively an expensive rate. Convienent location but not super clean or impressive. Average
- 5/5
The heaters are very noisy, difficult to have a quality sleep.
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean. My only complaint: I checked in online and it said my room was ready. So I stopped by around 1:30 to drop off my bags and check in. I was told I would have to pay $40 to check in early. Please don’t tell me my room is ready online if you aren’t going to let me check in until 3:00 anyway.
- 5/5
Would stay again! Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great!
- 5/5
Easy to get to and right next to ISU campus. Room to spread out and good amenities at the property.
- 4/5
Great for visiting for business on the Illinois State Campus
- 5/5
Nice clean property.
- 5/5
I girl that checked us in gave us a great dinner choose in walking distance. She was super friendly and waited on us the next day as we checked out. Asking about our stay and the concert we went to. Would definitely stay and recommend it..
- 5/5
The couch cushions in our room had some stains, so I didn't want to sit on them. The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect.
- 5/5
I was worried about off-site parking but it actually a few steps away and easily accessed. Hotel was clean, modern and professional. Room was really quiet and we were near elevator. Breakfast was nice with someone constantly monitoring it and stocking it. I would highly recommend.
- 4/5
The front staff was super nice. They had a nice breakfast buffet. The bartender was nowhere to be found. The poor front desk staff had to always track them down. That was the only downside. A few guests approached the bar and eventually left because there was never a bartender. We too gave up.
- 5/5
parking worked out so nicely
- 5/5
Staff is very pleasant!
- 2/5
We have stayed here in the past and liked it. This time not so much. The refrigerator in our room did not work at all. We had little kids and needed it for their milk, yogurt etc .Called the front front desk and they said they could do nothing for us except let us bring our perishables downstairs. We ended up filling up bags of ice to keep our things cold. Fryer was broken downstairs. No food except pizza or a burger and our toilet seat was wobbly and broken. We'll go across the street next time
- 5/5
Everything was great at the hotel. The bathroom could have been cleaned better.
- 5/5
Doesn’t get any better!
- 5/5
Was walking distance from so much and convenient for a weekend train ride with the family!
- 5/5
Great stay. Nice staff. Good breakfast was a nice touch
- 3/5
TV didn’t work, stains on sheets of one bed in the room, staff were nice, location was great
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice and exceeded my expectations! The only downside was the fsct the only park3is across the street in a parking garage and no valet. Otherwise I was very pleased and would recommend.
- 3/5
They told me they could accommodate early check in so we got here early just for them to try and charge me $60, but when I spoke with them before coming they didn’t mention it once. So, they made us wait and wasn’t helpful at all.
- 5/5
Very nice staff
- 3/5
The beds were really comfortable. Our TV remote was broken. There wasn’t enough soap in the bathroom. Great location. The service at the front desk was pretty lukewarm. Not very friendly.
- 5/5
Excellent stay !we definitely will be back
- 5/5
I’d stay here again.
- 4/5
We celebrated my sister's birthday 🎂 and had a wonderful the pool!!
- 4/5
I dont think that the parking was very convenient. There was an ice storm while I was there (with warnings) and the hotels in the area, at first, did not place enough salt on walkways to ensure the safety of the guests. So, when I had to walk to the parking garage to get my car, and get my luggage and then pick up my luggage, with all the ice, it was very challenging. So, I would recommend more guest assistance when there is inclement (icy) weather. The employees were nice and check in was a breeze. The room was clean and nice.
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. Everything was top-notch except for the parking which is a bit of a walk and not easy to access.
- 5/5
Nice place and staff
- 5/5
Really nice stay among attractive, comfortable space and amenities - would definitely return
- 4/5
Have your housekeeping lady turn down her obnoxiously loud radio on her cart. We don’t want to wake up to that! Supposed to sleep in and be relaxed.
- 4/5
Clean and friendly.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Loved the free breakfast.
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 5/5
Wonderful stay at an amazing property. We had an event at ISU, so this location was perfect. Great shopping and dining near by. Easy parking. A great experience.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Everything was excellent except for the water pressure. Worst shower I’ve ever taken - luckily since it was a one night stay that had very little bearing on my stay.
- 4/5
Room was nice .
- 3/5
Staff was great. Quiet floor we were on
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Excellent hotel and property. Probably the best hotel for the price I’ve ever stayed at
- 5/5
This is a beautiful, clean hotel with comfortable beds. The breakfast provided was great and parking is nearby. Highly recommended.
- 3/5
I was disappointed that the swimming pool was out of order.
- 5/5
Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
clean, beautiful, great location.
- 5/5
Hotel is nice and clean. Staff is amazing! Especially night front desk staff.
- 5/5
Family friendly and a good option for its prime location. Free parking and free charging at the parking tower across the street.
- 5/5
The only down side to this hotel is parking across the street
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay in an immaculately clean room. Special thanks to staff member Chrissie for making us feel welcome on a late Christmas Eve.
- 5/5
Staff was so nice
- 5/5
It was great!
- 4/5
Did not like to park in a parking garage
- 3/5
Faucets in room and toilets in lobby poorly functioning
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly and it was mostly a lovely stay. The only complaints were that the room was very cold and heat didn’t work well, and the soap gave my partner a rash
- 4/5
Clean, safe and comvenient
- 2/5
I went right to bed when I got there and didn't notice this until morning when I was about to check out (at 6am) but whatever was on the door frame really shouldn't have been. I almosted vomited.
- 5/5
Professional staff Upscale facility but very affordable
- 3/5
Our group had 3 rooms for a family event in the area. We really liked this hotel a lot because it is pet friendly so we could bring 2 well behaved dogs. There is a convenient area across the street equipped with bags and a trash can when we cleaned up after our dogs which was great. We had 1 significant disappointment however. We were told room service was every other day which was fine with us. We got no room service for any of our rooms the entire time! We stopped at the front desk to inform them 3 times and were basically told nothing we can do except inform housekeeping. They did give us clean towels and a box of kleenex for our room when asked. We stayed 4 nights with zero room service.
- 5/5
Great stay for our family the night before Thanksgiving. Best breakfast buffet!
- 4/5
Nice amenities Couldn't get the TV to work to find local programming
- 4/5
The pool isnt heated at all. It was very very cold. That was kind of the draw for us, so i think people should know this when booking
- 5/5
Good beds and nice rooms.
- 5/5
Quite,clean, and close to everything.
- 5/5
Was nice stay very quiet enjoyed thank you
- 5/5
Nice and clean facilities. Staff was super friendly! Only thing that wasn’t great was the shower head - it was a little dirty
- 1/5
Reserved 2 curved rooms. When checking in I was told there were none available after reserving 2 weeks prior and paying for them 2 wks prior. Check in was a mess. Once we get to our rooms, my in laws received a curved room (I paid for both rooms) yet we received a normal room. Still paid for 2 curved rooms. Staff is rude. One was actually in the back room screaming bloody murder like someone was hurting him. The bar tender said the person was just having a moment. It was a bit scary. Bar closed at 10:30pm without letting us know as we were sitting at the bar. Rooms are very dusty and terrible lighting. Paid way too much for crap service and crap rooms.
- 5/5
Couldn’t ask for more!
- 4/5
Very nice hotel. Very clean. Breakfast was good, but very basic. Parking in the garage across the street was fine, but I would not have wanted to walk that far in winter.
- 5/5
Workout room could use some more and better equipment.
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Close proximity to the conference center at ISU.
- 5/5
I have stayed here before and I really like it. That’s why we keep coming back.
- 5/5
Just needed a place to sleep for the night on the way home from vacation. Pet friendly for a few! Easy check in and staff was friendly. Breakfast looked good but we were in a rush to get home. But they do have a Starbucks attached to the hotel which is nice so I don’t have to make an extra stop for coffee before getting on the road!
- 5/5
Spacious rooms, clean and comfy; very friendly, helpful staff, easy, nearby parking.
- 2/5
The shower had low water pressure, and the bed linens were uncomfortable and of poor quality.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and the gentleman working that evening made sure I parked my car and got in the building safely since it was pretty late when I arrived ! He was standing outside waiting for me, I thought that was very nice of him to do that .
- 4/5
Nice neighborhood. Quiet room. Checking adequate supplies in the room could be better.
- 3/5
I did not like the unwarranted unhelpful attitude of the black girl at the front desk while checking out. The guy at check in was wonderful. Best employee out of any hotel I've been to.
- 5/5
Appreciated the professional, knowledgeable assistance from the front desk team! Will certainly stay at the Hyatt Place my next visit to Normal, Illinois!
