Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness, kindness, and helpfulness. The rooms are generally clean, but some guests have noted issues with cleanliness, outdated decor, and minor maintenance problems. The hotel's location is convenient for many guests, but some have found the price to be higher than expected.

Building seemed somewhat out of date. My pillows were very limp. Elevators certificate expired in Jan 2026. Pool was not open/closed down due to some issue in the pool. Toilet seemed to be somewhat loose at the base and jerked when you got up. Not impressed.
- 2/5
This place was terrible and an awful shape. The garbage was overflowing outside as we arrived. The pool was not full, and there was a crack in the window of the pool center upon our second day our floor smelled like sewage there was some sort of problem going on in the hotel. The staff was kind, but the place was a wreck. Will not stay there again.

I was put on a first floor room that had a sliding glass door to the parking lot... I did not feel safe. I should have just asked for a different room, but was uncomfortable doing that as well.
- 2/5
The complementary water bottle in my room was opened and partially empty, the small bottle of lotion was empty, the back of the toilet had hair on it, the sink drained slowly and built up when running/brushing teeth. The bed was comfortable, however. The pool was out of service and we were not advised prior to check in. The staff was friendly.

Close to ISU campus. The room I booked and paid for did not have a sleeper sofa as advertised. The vanity was super tiny made for 1 person. The room was setup for handicapped person which I’m not handicapped nor is my spouse.

Our stay was excellent. The shower head could use a replacement and hair removal from the bathroom. Great otherwise.

Room was in good condition. Staff was courteous. Stayed in an accessible room. Bathroom setup was fine. Bed could have been lower to floor for transferring from wheelchair to bed. Never was able to connect to internet through XBOX game system.

The hotel room we had was very run down. The main light didn’t work, the phone didn’t work, there was a horrid smell on our floor, and the room air conditioner was stuck on 64 degrees.
- 1/5
Stay anywhere else but here. This hotel has no natural light, coffee was terrible and the rooms are very outdated. Shower floor was so old and cracked that I had to stand on a towel while I showered.
- 3/5
The staff was courteous. The rooms were clean. Kind of disappointed The hot tub didn't work. This seems to be a thing lately. The shower was really nice Not used to seeing glass doors. Maid service Didn't do anything the second day so had to go to the desk to get more coffee. Not a big deal, but if they know you're staying more than one night they should at least refill the basic necessities. Like coffee and toilet paper and take the trash out.

I stayed for two nights and no housekeeping was done. Saw two employees still there after 6pm taking out the garbage while fire alarm was going off. Apparently bartender overcooked a pizza.

Late check in after midnight 5/29/25. On 5/31, my husband went to open the drapes all the way and noticed we had a sliding door to a so-called patio. Mind you we were on the first floor facing the parking lot. My husband went to open the sliding door and the lock was broken, the door was unable to be locked which meant we were in a room that could have been accessible by anyone from the outside, ground level. Cleaning staff apparently did not know this door was broken?? My husband went to the front desk to have maintenance called to have door fixed. He was told maintenance was not in at that time. My husband then asked for a screwdriver, being handy, would attempt to fix himself. They actually allowed him to attempt to fix, however, lock completely broken and unable to be repaired. We were then told we would be moved to a new room on the second floor and offered a free breakfast for the inconvenience. We had to pack up an already unpacked room, not as big of an issue as the open door for anyone to enter!!

The first room the fridge did not work and the lamp on the wall was falling off. Had to change rooms then the air conditioning in the second room didn’t work.

Nice convenient location. Easy off and on the highway. Lots of dining choices nearby. Make sure you watch out for the geese during the spring-they do warn you. Lots of geese nesting in and around the parking lot.
- 5/5
was here only from midnight to 7am. People at the desk were nice at check-in and when we left. Older hotel, rooms in need of updating, but the facility was clean.
- 4/5
Good location. Friendly staff. Room was worn out, cigarette burns on furniture and walls, drapes torn. Slightly noisy from outside sounds. Elevator inspection is a few months past due. Refrigerator not good, you have to push a reset button to turn it on for 2 hours at a time. That’s tough when you are there for 4 days and can’t constantly monitor that. Was expecting a little more for the money and the name.
- 4/5
For the money that you payfor this hotel room I was Not impressed. No free continental breakfast, the shower had dried boogers and old soap close to the shower head, only 3 towels and not very clean room. There was also lights that were for bedside light with no light switch on the wall... they were mounted with switches themselves and were plugged in, but no wall switch to keep them on... all the other creature comforts. Single serving coffee, creamer, sugar and got a great room close to the elevator but the door was really flimsy and could hear everything and everyone while i laid on my bed over 8 foot away.

Hotel staff nice and the room was pretty clean. Sheets were old and the carpet was very dated and old. Couch I would not sit on it because it was old and visibly dirty. The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom showing age but clean. I was overall able to rest during my stay.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly, however this location is in need of a makeover. Dated carpet, very hard beds, pillows uncomfortable. We all woke up with sore backs. Also, for the price we feel a free breakfast should be included.

I belive the room had mold in the carpet and it made me sick.

I arrived around 8:30pm. I asked to switch rooms because someone was loudly hauking in the room next to mine. I was issued a new room with no problem. The staff was welcoming. The rooms were lovely and clean. Though I did not use the washer and dryer, I appreciated the convenience. I very much enyoyed my stay.
- 3.5/5
There was a large centipede in my room and it bit me several times on my right leg. After that I was not happy with my stay luckily it was discovered in the morning when I was checking out.

Very sweet ladies that helped me. Older hotel but I enjoyed my stay. Thank you:)

This hotel was over $150 a night and in my opinion a $119 a night maximum stay. When amenities cannot be offered in a sanitary condition, fees should be lowered.
- 4/5
People were friendly and the location was great. The room overall was clean but had a musty odor.
- 2/5
The hotel pool was under maintenance during our stay. This was disappointing as I booked the hotel to use the pool and hot tub. We were told we could swim at the neighboring hotel’s pool. We did this and were very unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the pool and there was no hot tub.

Stay was great. Everyone was lovely and helpful.

The Courtyard was recently refurbished with carpet, paint, wallpaper, etc. It was nice and was clean, outside of the shower which was just tired, and had some stains/spots in the corners/on the walls. The hotel offered Starbucks drink options for breakfast which was nice but we did not pay to eat there, outside of the coffee/tea. Decent stay, would have liked to pay 125 not 160 but it seems that is the way it goes these days. Overall clean and safe.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will visit again! Highly recommend

We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations; our usual hotel was booked up. The Courtyard of Marriott has an inviting lobby, lovely bistro area and a convenient location just off I55. Each and every staff member we interacted with was helpful, friendly and quite efficient, including several front desk personnel, bistro, cleaning crew and outside maintenance. The bistro is a hidden gem! Excellent food quality and convenience. We enjoyed the fresh avocado toast and Starbucks coffee were next level. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. The beds and bedding are wonderfully comfortable. We will book here again.
- 4/5
Fanstastic experience but after the first night noticed that the white bedding was kinda yellowed around the edge at the top of the bed. Not a big deal except it looks like some food stains were in the same areas.

Great hotel by ISU. Super comfy beds and roomy! Will definitely come back!
- 3/5
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last ten years. I like the staff, service, location, and parking. The cleanliness and facility itself, however, have gone downhill a bit. And the lighting is so dim I could not see to put my makeup on.
- 5/5
Very nice and convenient.
- 4/5
Pool water was cold and hot tub was not hot enough.
- 5/5
Check in took seconds and our room was very conveniently located near elevator. The room was wonderful and the continental breakfast included breakfast sandwiches and juices and was restocked quickly.
- 3/5
There was nothing unique about the property.

Was in Normal for granddaughter’s Gamma Phi Circus performance. Every staff member was very pleasant & cheerful! Beds were fantastically comfortable. Unfortunately the unseasonably cold weather didn’t allow us to take advantage of the nice balcony outside our room. Look forward to staying here next time we visit my granddaughter at ISU!

In town for the weekend visiting family. We were very pleased with our accommodations. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the proximity to stores and restaurants in the town.

Then after a tough day of driving thru a ice storm, got into the show, no soap in the dispenser. Got ready for bed and there was a mirror on the side of bed. Really strange. Had to cover w a towel. The next morning no additional toilet paper in room. I feel as no one checked this room before I moved in. This stay was not worth the money I spent. Very disappointed in Marriot.
- 5/5
It was a good place to visit
- 5/5
Perfect for what we needed. Only (minor) issue was the air was very dry, but that's a fact of life in the winter with individual room heating
- 3/5
Room was clean. Front desk attendants were friendly.
- 5/5
very clean and excellent service at check-in
- 4/5
The pool area could use some updating and repairs. The heater in my room ticked really loudly as it was heating up but it eventually stopped. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
The front desk staff (I believe his name was Sam) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I witnessed him reading everyone around him kindly. It was so nice to see!
- 5/5
Awesome. Easy check-in. Comfortable room, Great service.
- 5/5
All staff members went above and beyond in their customer service and friendliness. I was very impressed by them.
- 4/5
We changed rooms as the first room smelled of stale smoke, the second room was acceptable.
- 3/5
Bistro /bar was not open on Saturday evening. It would have been nice to be able to grab a quick bite there and not have to go out in the rain storm. My key did not work for the fitness center and when I went to the front desk and finally found the clerk he was asleep in the lobby. There water or cleaning materials in fitness center. Equipment worked fine except for TV. Bed was very comfortable. Quiet.
- 5/5
This is not the first time I stayed at this property very clean hotel nice people convenient very fair price rooms are updated and clean
- 3/5
I don’t think they have cleaned the floors in awhile, crumbs, spider webs dust cracked tile in bathroom.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. The lack of complimentary coffee in the lobby was surprising as this is the norm at other hotels I’ve visited this year. The in-room coffee makers are not acceptable. The staff was very friendly.
- 3/5
When I first arrived, I was greeted by the front desk attendant. Very friendly guy. The second morning, I came downstairs and 2 women attendants stared at me as if i was alien. They were very hesitant in saying good morning back to me. Overall, the room was just ok.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly.

We stayed for one night while visiting our daughter who is at ISU. The hotel was located close to campus and every to reach. The clerk checking us was also very nice. Overall, the room and lobby were clean. The bathroom and room looked like they had been renovated. We had reserved 2 queen beds and I called to say we would be a late check-in. However, when we checked in, they had no more queen rooms left, so we were given a king with a sofabed. The room layout was cramped and the had poor lighting, especially in the bathroom. Once we pulled out the sofabed, there was no room to walk around at all. In fact, the only way to get to one side of the king bed was to climb on the bed since the sofabed touched the base of the king bed. Obviously, someone needs to rethink the layout. The bed faced the window and at sunrise, the sun was right in our face. The bathroom was clean and updated, but there was very little counter space. I think the room would have been okay for 2 people, but it was cramped for the three of us. I was also annoyed that they did not have the room we reserved.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, comfy, affordable, and convenient. Would definitely stay here again
- 4/5
The hotel was convenient for visiting family. The bed was not the most comfortable and we did not have any lotion in the bathroom. Our first room had no heat but we were able to switch to another room.
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable and coffee was hot. Plesant staff, everyone very friendly.
- 5/5
Our stay was very nice. Love the decor. The gentleman at the front desk as we returned for the night was vert kind and helpful and gave us coffee and cups for the morning. This was our first stay at the Courtyard. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly but property could use a good freshening up. Room was clean but shower and toilet room could use a deep clean.
- 5/5
Richard at the front desk was the best ever.
- 3/5
The room was large but it smelled like cats. Really badly like cat urine.
- 4/5
Room was fine but the front staff were crabby and not very friendly
- 3/5
The staff was terrific - the facility was riddled with mold/mildew.
- 3/5
No major complaints. The room was fine. Comfortable bed. One minor issue is that all the sockets were loose from overuse. It was hard to find a socket that my charger would actually stay in to keep a charge and not fall out. Also, the lighting in my room was barely enough. The various lamps and stuff were barely enough. Especially by the sink area, it was difficult to do my makeup I had to bring my makeup to the window and use a handheld mirror.
- 5/5
Tv was incredibly dim. There was no adjustment for brightness.
- 3/5
With no rental cars available and the absence of a hotel shuttle, I ended up having to check out a day early to get a hotel closer to the airport.
- 1/5
The room was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom was not clean by any means, the room smelled horrible. The AC did not function properly. I attempted to use the iron and iron board, but when I did the iron was doing dirt or rust on to my dress shirt. The remote for the TV was sticky and didn't function properly every 10th click worked and it wasn't the batteries
- 1/5
Don’t stay here! This place is disgusting! Hair and skin in my bed, a shower so sorry I wouldn’t use and dead bugs on the floor.
- 5/5
Outdoor courtyard seating in evening; windows in room slide open.
- 5/5
Great overnight stay
- 2/5
The front desk staff violated my privacy by informing other parties of business party my reservations at the hotel. Extremely unprofessional and definitely contacting counsel.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Very nice and clean rooms. Shower pressure is so so. Definitely staying here again.
- 5/5
Conveniently located to ISU campus and feeling like a relatively new property. Great bar service though restaurant still in pandemic mode. Not the cheapest, but decent value.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at your hotel during our stay in Bloomington,il

The room smelled like a cinnamon type of spray which was strong and present the whole stay. I would prefer my room to smell like nothing or fresh linen. Other than that the stay was peaceful. The hotel and room matched the photos and was very clean!
- 5/5
Just a nice place to stay.Everyone was friendly. Everything was clean.

The only thing that didn’t make me happy was the water pressure in the shower.
