Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and great location, but expressing concerns about outdated facilities, maintenance issues, and noise. Some guests enjoyed the pool and breakfast, while others found them disappointing.

Elevator on 1st floor by our room was out of service. TV services in room need to be updated. Shower door seemed to be missing in our room #231.
- 4/5
The staff did their job. You could tell they were there for a paycheck but got the job done. Not super friendly. The hotel had a sign out front welcoming the Special Olympics but it wasn’t very accommodating. The elevator closet to our room was out of order and parking was limited. The pool was only accessible by a ladder to get in and out of so it was impossible for my daughter to get in and out of by herself and they did not have the chair lift. The hot tub had a brown film in it. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything and heard and felt thumps all night. Breakfast was ok, tasted like everything was instant. Would not choose to stay here again especially for $300 or more per night.
- 4/5
Towel were excellent. Water from the shower ran out the door after every shower! I do t know where it came from but it happened after our showers
- 3/5
Recently renovated room. Lots of things done cheaply. To turn off reading lights have to jump out of bed to get to central switch. Floors are vinyl and don’t feel well attached. There was a hinge in a cabinet that needed to be e repaired ( reported but not fixed). Exhausted fan didn’t work in bathroom. Good in the morning gwas ok. The place you eat it in obviously needs decoration. I felt I was eating in a shed. Here’s the biggest issue. They do NOT clean the rooms unless you specifically ask for iyt to be done a day in advance. Please read that again. We weren’t told that when we checked in. We were wondering so finally we went down and asked. I asked 2 different folks and both said (probably trained to say this) “we are a different type of place”. This hotel just put lipstick on a pig. I suggest you avoid. Ps My rating are kind.

Room was ok. Breakfast was ok. Took at least 10 minutes for my shower to get hot water.

Quiet, beautiful lobby and layout. The shower! It had a huge overhead shower and a handheld. I could only get the handheld to work. And only half the shower closed. Water all over the floor!

Breakfast was excellent, parking and esthetics were excellent, room was nice and comfortable. I was charged $60.00 after I left and I can’t get an answer as to why. I’m being scammed by the hotel and booking.com because I can’t get an answer as to why I was charged after I left. The hotel also wouldn’t give me a receipt for my stay and told me to get the receipt from booking.com . Also I didn’t get maid service on Saturday while I was attending my conference.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel! It feels like a real life castle and it was very convenient and comfortable! The only complaint I have, is the tv was stuck on one channel because the remote was broken and the buttons on the tv didn’t work.
- 2/5
We had to move 3 times 3 different rooms. It took an hour before we could even unpack our things. Just a note i am disabled and walk with a cane. So it was not easy moving all of our bags and suitcases. Once we got to our room. It was nice. The ice machine was broke on the 3rd floor. So I had to go all the way to the first floor for ice. I was disappointed.
- 2/5
I wasn't happy I was given a room. That was already given to someone else and.not much was done. For the police I paid I should have been a little more comfortable knowing I was safe and I did I know that was going to happen to my room Is it the best thing I could have done? Is is not give me a room that someone else already hac. Since that did happen is the only thing that could have made it right? Besides the staff being a little bit more understanding as me not having to pay so much to stay there
- 4/5
As far as the room, it was clean and comfortable enough for a decent night sleep. It was odd that the microwave and refrigerator were in the bedroom and not the butlers pantry area, however, everything worked so it wasn’t a big deal. The toilet was not installed properly, however, and rocked when anyone sat on it. There was only one small towel hook in the entire room/bathroom, which was not convenient since the room is listed as accommodating four guests. We ended up hanging towels in the closet. Also, the walls and hall doors must be very thin because we heard “neighbors” talking and snoring sporadically throughout the night. Overall, the hotel was a good value for travelers on a budget and we plan to stay here again.

The staff was super great. Very kind with ordering from local places. The room was very clean and as pictured. The pool was clean and relaxing, however the temperature was very cold. Breakfast was not as pictured, but still good.

I noticed that the back entry/exit by the pool door would be propped open and squeezed , the shower stall had no where to set bottles on, the shower door didn’t catch enough water to prevent water on floor because It leaked, the bed skirt was ripped, and I had a boiled egg at breakfast that smelt very off and was not able to eat, it was hard and tasted awful. Other than these things I enjoyed the hotel and will return soon.
- 3/5
Pros- The pool and hot tub were great and the staff was super nice and helpful. (Gave us extra pillows and towels) Breakfast was good as well. Cons-There was no microwave in the room even though it says clearly on the website there was supposed to be a microwave. Also there's no exhaust fan in the bathroom so any time someone went number 2 the whole room filled up with THAT odor. That was unpleasant. The beds were terribly uncomfortable I barely slept all night and the pillows looked and felt like they came from a dollar store. Probably won't stay here again because of the cons outnumbering the pros. (I always look forward to a nice hotel bed with nice pillows so that was disappointing to me personally.)

- 2/5
The shower was odd. There is no shower door so we had to put towels down so the floor didnt get soaked. Also, we couldn't use half of our outlets. If you plugged anything in, they would pop and spark. Breakfast was from 7-10 and when we went down at 830 they only had limited items everything else was gone. Granted they were hosting the ms Illinois pageant but you'd think that would have been taken into consideration. The staff was nice. Pleasant to talk to and offered to switch our room, but honestly I probably wont stay here again. The reason we chose this hotel was for the hot tub, and while we recognize you cant have it to yourself, it was a free-for-all for the kids. Saturday night at 10:30 pm and there were 9 kids under the age of 8 in the hot tub. I seen quite a few adults turn around and leave.

Cozy hotel. Cozy bar. We sat and talked with bartendeer Jeremy for hours. Totally enjoyed the time. Accomodations were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was hot and well stocked. We would definitely stay again should we pass through Bloomington. Great pool and hot tub too! Overall very well maintained facility.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna (mens). Rough that some hands-off parents let kids roam around sometimes late at night and mess things up - seemed like some kids dumped coffee in the pool or something. Hopefully quick clean up but wow parents - do better please, maybe the cameras will show who deserves an extra fee on their bill $$. Great spot in town with easy walking to many things nearby. Appreciated the senior staff being on site helping out with bartending & management. Fun group and hope it continues to improve and be a mainstay for Central Illinois :-).

Great value! Great service! Only area needing improvement is breakfast. Great choices, but very bland food, specifically the eggs and hash browns.

Even though the cost of the room was elevated because of ISU’s graduation, it’s still one of the better properties to stay if you’re in Bloomington normal. Helps that it has a really good dash of nostalgia thrown in if you’re over 40.

The Rooms were unfinished. Sheets on bed were never changed from previous person who stayed there. We had little black bugs crawling on the wall in the bathroom near the doorframe. The put us as far away as could be from the elevator with a party member being handicap. The hot tub was so cloudy you could don't see the bottom. The breakfast was THE WORST BREAkFAST BY FAR that anyone in our party has ever had at a hotel. The hotel keys consistently did not work to open room doors ( no we did not have them ANYWHERE near a phone like they stated at check in. The garbage was overflowing in all the garbage cans. At no point did we see anyone cleaning or maintaining any part of the hotel. The air reeked of mold covered up by pinesol. Every time we got on the elevator people were complaining about their rooms. We were charged an extra $20 for a bed because we had a child who would not sleep in the dirty bed . We left some food in the fridge and called the hotel several times after check out and was told they would call back and they never did. They had exactly 4 total handicap spots of which all were filled when we arrived at the hotel. Oh breakfast - My hardboiled egg actually takes and bounced like a rubber ball. Nothing was nutritious. We waited 45 minutes for scrambled eggs, which was the only decent food. And we had the joy of eating off dirty table cloths they leave on all of breakfast that are shared by all guests. So incredibly gross adn honestly should be reported to dept

The beds have always been comfortable, and plenty of excellent pillows (which factors in a lot for my comfort). Very solid AC temperature. Nice to still have access to a good breakfast too with an excellent range of options. The 24hour fitness center has been a big bonus for me several visits. Free WIFI and nice desks have made this my go-to when I have to work remotely while visiting. The AC is LOUD. Banging and noisy when turning off and on. I'm used to it, after several visits, but it's pretty bad and would be a show-stopper for some people I know. The breakfast...I admit this is a bit petty, but the potatoes have been prepped the same the past couple of years I've been coming here and I'm not a fan of the seasonings, and they're a bit oily. And while the TVs are big and very positive for the experience, it'd be nice to see them start working in smart TVs so I can cast my phone to the TV and watch my streaming services.

The comforter provided is disappointingly thin, leaving me feeling chilly throughout the night. I found myself turning on the heat to make the space more comfortable, which is not ideal for a hotel stay. Overall, the experience has been basic at best, lacking any special touches or amenities that would elevate it beyond the bare minimum. But as it stands, it’s just an average night at a hotel.

Room was okay. Price and location were good. bed was so soso but pillows were bad; did not like shower head; nobody would help us with the tv. Two remotes - one for tv and one for Xfinity. One desk person said whichever turned the tv on was the one to use. They both turned tv on. The tv remote basically gave us Pluto and the Xfinity did nothing. Another desk person said the hotel did not have Xfinity. Did not appreciate not being able to get local news and weather when storms were around.

I'm very much a fan of vintage/warm decor and ambiance so I certainly enjoyed that feel of the hotel. Although the hotel had a vintage feel to it, it was not without its more modern amenities. There's a pool, sauna, and bar on the premises. All clean and up to date. The flat screens in the rooms are a nice size and come with a decent cable package but no options for steaming services. I'm not sure if all rooms are equipped with mini fridges and microwaves, but mine did, which both were clean and working. The bathroom was a nice size with a standard shower and good water pressure. The coffee machine and ice bucket located on the bathroom counter were a bit odd to me, especially considering that toilet matter can fly several feet when the seat is not down. I ended up moving them myself. The bed was comfortable with clean and stain free linen. The free continental breakfast had many choices; scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, hashbrown, waffles, different cereals, different pastries, and a few fruit and beverage choices. The staff I encountered were kind and welcoming. The only things I wish were different are where the ice buckets and coffee maker are kept, and having televisions that are equipped with steaming services. Outside of those small quirks, I enjoyed my stay at the Chateau and would stay again. I'd just bring my own steaming device next time. Lol.

The room was outdated. Pillows SMALL... smaller than throw pillows! It was stuffy despite turning the AC down. The tub was stained and had paint chipping. But the worst? The TV remote wasn't working and the TV said to we had to set up a Samsung remote with our Smartphone. My husband tried. Was denied. I tried and denied. Called and desk clerk said they'd inform maintance. Nothing was done. Wasn't given wash rags. Desk clerk said some will be up with them. Nope. I have to stay in Bloomington later in May and it will not be here. No way.

Great staff and amenities! This hotel is obviously older, but is still very beautiful despite it's age. My room was fine, but seemed like it hadn't been used in a while..? There were cobwebs on the window blinds, and the toilet chain needed to be adjusted to be able to flush the toilet properly. Overall I had a nice stay that was made better by the breakfast in the morning, which was phenomenal! The staff were all very helpful and eager to help.

I am disappointed. I contacted the property the day of the reservation explaining that due to a tornado in our area, I was unable to get out of my driveway so had to change my plans. I asked if I could change the reservation to the following weekend but they upheld charging me the full room charge. A little consideration for the tornado that made national news and was beyond my control would have been appreciated. Especially since I had planned to just stay the following weekend... and have stayed there before.

Comfy bed and plenty of antique furniture and fountains throughout the hotel. At check in large group of tennis players and only 1 staff member at desk. In line for about 15 minutes.

This place looks really cool with the chateau design and furnishings, but the walls are super thin. We could hear our neighbors talking IN their room, and the doors slam. The rooms are numbered oddly, so our friend, who was in 330, was around like two corners and hallways from us in 327. Breakfast was just meh. Lido Lounge food was good and the bartender friendly.

The staff was so friendly, it makes me sad to complain. But the fact is, this place needs much better upkeep for the price. The room was sticky/dirty- I didn’t even want to touch the tv remote and my water bottle actually stuck to the bedside stand. The hot tub had brown foam floating around- was cracked and dirty. The air conditioner in my room did not work, I called the front desk to ask if there was a trick to make it work but I’d did not start working. The windows could not open and also did not have screens. We did not stay for the breakfast after the initial impression of cleanliness. And the noise was impressive… other guests actually made our room shake with their noise and pounding on the floor and stairs. The elevator near our room was broken so the stairs must have been utilized a lot. No sleep in the noisy and hot room. Would not stay in this hotel again. But the staff was truly kind and friendly.

It was good enough. Clearly working on remodeling. Breakfast was above average. No regular housekeeping, you have to go to the front desk and request any needs. Parking is horrible especially in pouring down rain. Staff very friendly. Small little bar with limited selections but again good enough.
- 3/5
I was given two keys for room, but one wouldn’t work first day, then the other stopped working in the morning. I found small ants in bathroom towels and one on my bed. I found my room on the 3rd floor to be clean and quite pretty. Thankfully, it did not smell like the 1st and 2nd floor. There is a heavy smell of chemical cleaners as soon as you open the main entrance doors.
- 5/5
The hottub is always being maintenance on.
- 3/5
3 of the four outlets did not work in the bedroom. The remote for the tv also did not work and maintenance traded it out. Bathroom mirror light flickered all night even though bathroom light was off.
- 1/5
Candy everywhere on are floor kids loud slamming doors all hours of night and I know your full and all but breakfast was cold and not hot and kids not begin watched by adults in the pool and hot tub.
- 4/5
It would have been excellent if it didn’t take 30 minutes to check in , since all we had to do was get a key . The women behind the counter looked lost. She had no clue what to do yet the other lady safes you by helping out. We were very close to leaving and going to another hotel
- 3/5
I mean the day wasn’t too bad at all. They had a little things that could’ve been better but all in all not too bad. The things that were bad was the fact that the people sleeping in their room next to us ran down the hallway the entire night had music blaring and were yelling and hell about 2 o’clock in the morning.
- 3/5
Toilet stopped working in the morning. 1 man staff at desk was so busy I waited 20 min to try and check out and never did as the line of 4 ahead of me never moved. I had an 8 am meeting and was 30 min late and it eas7 min down the road.
- 5/5
Wonderful breakfast, lots of options. The decor was absolutely beautiful!
- 4/5
yes
- 4/5
The front desk clerk didn't have a clue about the nearest car wash. I ended up getting lost looking for one and couldn't find my way back.
- 5/5
The check in was very quick and smooth. I enjoyed using the hot tub and the breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed my evening at the bar
- 4/5
A beautiful hotel, I’ll be staying again.
- 4/5
Clean room. Pleasant and helpful staff.
- 5/5
This was a great place to stay on our way back home with a vanload of kids. The pool was well cared for and the rooms were just what we needed. No problems. They even kindly accommodated our request for connecting rooms.
- 5/5
Every school year my family and I visit our Redbird and this is the only place I love to stay the complimentary breakfast is delicious and when we need to unwind we hit the hot tub and sauna while my teenagers enjoy the pool hands down I highly recommend this place staff is great rooms are always clean
- 1/5
I prepaid on Expedia and checked in early. When I arrived I was supposed to only have to pick up a key. The front desk asked me for my card again which I thought was odd since I prepaid. Since I’ve been home I now have not one but two additional charges for 3 nights on my card. So I have to be issued a new card and re set all my auto pays, in addition to filing two disputes.
- 4/5
The room upgrade was outstanding, and the staff was extremely accommodating getting us to the quieter side of the building due to the basketball tournament and all it’s guest mailing about the main floor, which was where our room was located
- 2/5
As I work in Normal and live an hour away when I have to work 11-12 hour days it’s easier to stay in Bloomington area. I always chose the Chateau because of the amenities available there. They have a Bar/Restaurant which is convenient and the food is good. Two out of the last time I stayed there I booked it thru Hotels.com and when I arrived I used my credit card for incidentals which I’m fine with. But the hotel charged my card again for the room. When brought to their attention they reversed the charges but it took a week to get my money back. Still waiting on this last weeks charges to be reversed. I even asked them when I checked in if they were going to do that again to me and was reassured I would not be charged twice. They need to train their staff better. When I give them my card it comes out immediately, why does it take a week to get it back when it’s their fault. I spend alot of money in the bar restaurant each time I stay there and bring co workers along that spend good money there. We have found a new place now to spend our money because management did not see any reason to compensate or make it right. Make sure you check your credit card immediately if you stay there. Only plus side now is that Jamie the bartender is awesome. We will miss her.
- 4/5
The breakfast was fine. Lots of variety. Toliets were low and I am only 5'4". I feel sorry for taller people using the toliets in the rooms.
- 4/5
Room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The place has a ton of character, but really needs upgrades
- 5/5
Kinda boring breakfast be honest.
- 3/5
Stayed here for a week and never got my room cleaned once. I ended up having to set my dirty towels and garbage outside of the door to be picked up by the cleaning staff. Thought that might encourage them to step inside, vacuum and possibly replace the towels with fresh ones but no. Kind of ridiculous considering I paid $600+ for my stay.
- 5/5
Everything was nice clean hot breakfast
- 1/5
Property outside and in common areas seemed nice. First room assigned had issues with the door lock light would go green and you could turn the handle but the handle would break loose before you could open the door. Once inside carpet was ripped up the handle for the bathroom was extremely loose. Springs were felt throughout and pillows were flat. All furniture was scratched and dinged up. After plumbing issues we got moved to a different with laminate flooring that was shifting and popping up as you walked over it. Floors were sticky upon arrival. Hair on bathroom floor and in sink. Black marks on lamp shades and shower curtain, outlet cover not screwed in and garbage under the bed skirt. Bed sheets looked like they were just re tucked in not changed. Was over charged on what pet fee was listed and got random charges in the middle of the night. All this may sound nit picky but for $135 a night I expect a little more.
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel. Great room service menu and meal. Bring your wall plug to charge your phone. I will stop again.
- 3/5
Over all the hotel was decent. The lobby was decorated really cool, if you’re into antiques. The girl at check in was super nice and friendly and made check in a breeze. There were fewthings that were a-little annoying with our stay. We had 2 rooms that were connected that was a positive! It was so weird how the rooms were different. One had a shower only and the shower had no hot water or pressure so we all ended up having to shower in one room.
- 4/5
The staff we interacted with was excellent… the room could have used more detail in cleaning though. The pool was good but that area needed cleaning. Breakfast was alright.
- 2/5
We had to call in both nights of our stay for noise complaints and it seems staff did nothing after the call. We had a basketball team running the halls slamming doors and screaming. Walls are thin and we also could hear our neighbors yelling. Till 11 pm
- 3/5
It was clean and bed was ok but soooo old and in need of upgrading! The “theme” is vintage, but furniture, carpet, bathroom fixtures/ vanities are really old, in a not cool- vintage kind of way. Also only 2 elevators for a very large hotel!
- 4/5
Great breakfast, could use a better set up for weekends when the hotel is very full. Front desk staff was the very best!
- 1/5
Room clean except for a dirty laundry cloth in the bathroom on the counter. No quiet time at night. Loud running boys in the hall until midnight. Nothing done to stop them until 12pm. No answer at the front desk when called. Key card stopped working 2 times. Breakfast looked disgusting. Paid $256 for a tiny room that was supposed to be a suite. Overall bad experience. Will not stay again.
- 2/5
Loud with kids running the halls and slamming doors and staff not dealing with situation. Some of that is fine, and to be expected, but not last 11 pm.
- 1/5
Traveled and stayed here because my regular hotel was booked. Water was cold when I showered, garbage was left in the floor in my hotel room, the shower curtain was dirty, and some of my towels were not clean. Unfortunately, and no fault of the hotel, there were a lot of children running around, knocking on walls, racing up and down the hall ways. When I tried to call the front desk, no one answered.
- 3/5
It’s was ok. There were a lot of unsupervised kids running down the halls all night long pounding on the doors and walls. It was very loud and over stimulating. Our bathroom was still a bit dirty when we checked in. The tub and sink. Things could definitely be updated. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.
- 2/5
Cool look on the outside, but inside didn’t match to exterior. No hot water, the AC sounded like a freight train all night! There were youth sports teams and kids running up and down the halls and the paper thin walls were not helping the noise. Breakfast room was away to small! Staff was friendly.
- 3/5
The interior is very dated and musty-feeling. Our mattress topper had what looked like dried bloodstains on it, but housekeeping brought us fresh linens and remade our whole bed for us. Our door key worked sporadically and would flash green but the door would stick and not open. The location was great but I wouldnt stay there again.
- 4/5
Even though I requested daily housekeeping at checkin, I still had to remind them daily.
- 5/5
Are room was great clean quiet and very accessible we will definitely be back
- 4/5
Very comfortable and clean row with a Gary big t.V for entertainment
- 4/5
Room ok. Updated
- 3/5
Front desk was nice, but things kept breaking in the room (toilet, key entry) and that was frustrating. You could also hear everyone who walked by the room, which happened fairly late into the evening. Free coffee in the morning!
- 5/5
Nice place to stay, clean and the staff was helpful. Only had one issue. There was no hairdryer in the room. The staff did take care of the problem.
- 2/5
So much for my family getting a good nights sleep.
- 5/5
We absolutely love staying here for the Lacrosse season at IWU. People and service is great. Keep up the excellent job
- 2/5
As soon as you walked in, the hotel had a terrible smell, and was even worse in the room. So strong that it gave you a headache
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Room was clean and nice, the hotel decor had a very cool vibe to it. Pool and hot tub were great and there is even saunas in each men and womens pool bathrooms. Would stay again!
- 5/5
All aspects of this property were excellent. The room and facilities was very clean. All staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Great location as well near restaurants and area we needed to be for our visit with family.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
Breakfast was excellent, staff, bar / restaurant was also excellent. Feel the room was a bit outdated.
- 2/5
I always stay at this hotel it’s very cool this stay was not so good, our mother passed and we had been driving a lot 975 miles our TV would not work and the staff didn’t bother to come fix it
- 4/5
The staff was generally helpful. When we checked in our room key didn’t work for four attempts. The staff finally realized the lock was broken and changed our room
- 5/5
Staff and hotel were great. Rooms were spacious and clean. Amenities such as the pool/hot tub/sauna/workout room were all in good condition. The Lido bar in the hotel lobby was very accommodating and there was plenty of tables and chairs in the lobby area for large groups to bring in food and have dinner if they chose to do so.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Older property, but it is well maintained. The bed in our room was very stiff, so if you like a firm mattress, this hotel would be great for you. No issues overall.
- 1/5
Made reservations a month early. Got there to check in & they said they had no rooms available. After waiting 30 min got a room but only had 1 bed. I reserved 2 beds. The bathroom light was flickering. Told me I could get the room I reserved the next morning. Went to do that told they were booked & couldn't move us
- 4/5
Clean room, recently remodeled and quiet
- 3/5
Hotel itself is very neat, did smell slightly funny and the pool area was a hot mess, the water and air were freezing no pool towels the party from night before hadn't even been cleaned up at 9am people slamming doors all night, dogs barking everywhere and front desk staff wasn't all that great either I was double charged and they didn't even know why or what to say
- 4/5
Unique room . GREAT POOL, easy breakfast.
- 3/5
We had two rooms for a family function and while both rooms were clean and the staff was courteous and helpful, both rooms had issues. In one room the TV remote didn't work. Went to the desk and was given another. That one also didn't work. Got another. Desk clerk says just to call if there's a problem. Only thing is...phone had lwas was also loose. othat
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the employees were so nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you really want to feel like royalty.
- 4/5
yes
- 4/5
Beautiful place, the old details with the modern were perfect, the reception staff were very friendly, just one detail, the bathroom extractor was not working, there was a lot of steam, in the pool area the jacuzzi water had a very unpleasant layer of dirt.
- 5/5
Staff, hot tub, pool and sauna were great
- 3/5
Shower lesk a
- 5/5
Room was clean, all the staff were nice and courteous. Very friendly. Pool area very clean.
- 5/5
Love th atmosphere. It’s an old cool hotel that has been updated. It’s got a lot of personality which is lacking at all the modern hotels. Rooms are nice, staff was great. Breakfast was good. The only thing that would have been better would have been the breakfast room. Lacks the charm as the rest of the hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was great and they moved us to a room with a king bed when asked!
- 5/5
Everything was as expected; the pool is the big draw and the beautiful architecture.
- 5/5
Courteous staff, clean room, and very comfortable bed
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Enjoyed the hot tub
- 4/5
Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Nice pool area. Hot tub only luke warm. Thermostat in room seemed way off. They are doing a good job at keeping the place looking good in an aging building.
- 4/5
Clean room. Cool atmosphere. Cool bar and good breakfast.
- 1/5
I am extremely disappointed with the Chateau. We stayed there two nights last fall and had no hot water, the coffee machine didn’t work properly, there were no hangers, no washcloths, and the room cleanliness was sub-par. I spoke with the manager, and he agreed to provide us with compensation. His promise never came to fruition. I emailed and called several times and never received a response. We stay in the Bloomington/Normal area often but will never stay here again. There are better hotels in this area with a much higher level of customer service.
- 4/5
Nice rooms. Wish they resorted more of the historic items in the hotel.
- 5/5
Room was clean, laundry facility was great, sauna and hot tub was an awesome experience. Plus breakfast was really great with so many options. Staff was amazing, very professional and nice
- 3/5
Hotel was old and kind of run down. I had to call the front desk because someone used a rock to hold open the keycard door on the first floor.
- 4/5
everyone was quite courteous and the rooms very clean. Very satisfied.
- 4/5
The room was clean and in good order. The bathroom was updated, but the rest of the room could use a little refresh. Overall, a good stay. The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was better than I expected.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We stayed here did the Bears/Packers game and our family pretty much took over the bar area. The bartender was so accommodating and provided us with great service. Our family also enjoyed the pool/ hot tub area.
- 5/5
Everything was good.
- 3/5
The staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was clean, but the beds were very uncomfortable.
- 1/5
Room $$$$ we left you can ask the night manager who was working evening hours what happened I don’t know if my wife will ever stay in a hotel room again because of this . very very very very very very very I have too many pictures and videos so I will wait to see any feedback you need to contact the hotel directly
- 1/5
I was booked through Expedia for two night Jan 30 to Feb 1. American Airlines cancelled our flight so we couldn't arrive until Jan 31. I called the hotel immediately to tell them that we weren't going to be able to make our first night but please hold our second night. The woman I spoke with at 6pm on Jan 30 said that was FINE. We finally arrived after 14+ hours of layovers, delays and no sleep. When we arrived to check in at 11:45am the staff said I no longer had my reservation because it was CANCELLED. I said the woman I spoke with didn't say she had to cancel and she made me think this whole time that I still had this reservation. The staff said that that was wrong and it had to be cancelled and couldn't be reinstated. So I HAD to pay ANOTHER night, after having already paid for two nights (paid for 3 nights and only stayed 1 night). The staff were very nice, but the hotel room was horrible. The thermostat was set to cool so the room was freezing, the bed coverings were 2 thin sheets and a thin blanket, the bathtub was disgusting and completely clogged, the toilet would run all night after flushing, no hair dryer, no ironing board, one of our key cards didn't work, and to top it off, our room phone didn't work so we couldn't even call the front desk. Such a disappointment.
- 5/5
Everything was great. I highly recommend staying were
- 4/5
I’ve stayed at Chateau many times over the years. Easy check-in and clean rooms make part of staying an easy decision. One recommendation I have is to upgrade the beds (mattresses). Many are soft and lumpy and in need of changing to new.
- 5/5
The front desk was fantastic to work with. Upon arrival we discovered we were next door to a high school dance team with a ton of energy. 😉. They were very willing to move us to a quieter location.
- 4/5
The lobby was unique in a good way. It had a fireplace, art, a fountain and antique furniture. The beds were comfortable and the TV was nice.
- 5/5
Was. Good stay
- 2/5
Room and environment is sketchy.
- 5/5
Staff is amazing, the place is very well kept, plenty of entertainment options on site and reasonably priced for the amenities offered
- 3/5
The staff and room were fine. The building itself is extremely dated and dank. Breakfast was very typical.
- 1/5
We went to our room and the refrigerator was so loud we had to switch rooms, got to the next room put our things away turned the heat up and went to our hockey game. Upon returning there was no heat in the room so we had to go to yet another room but the tvs were stuck on Spanish speaking stations so the staff had to come up and fix them. We also somehow got hit with two separate security fees that have not been returned yet.
- 1/5
“Superior” room had cobwebs in every corner, the pool and hot tub area were absolutely DISGUSTING, other guests were disruptive, and one staff member in particular was hostile and rude - didn’t catch his name but customer service is NOT his forte. Kaitlyn at the front desk did the best she could under the circumstances, but we left an hour after checking in.
- 4/5
Staff was helpfull, breakfast was good
- 2/5
Maintenance man let me into the room when my key did not work right. No id check, no verification at all. A call for an extra pillow did not get remedied in any way. The noise level was very loud, and the staff provided no help at all. I reserved this room based on the rating, and the rating was not accurate at all.
- 5/5
Sarah at the Lido Lounge was spectacular! Nice atmosphere.
- 3/5
The room smelled like cigarette smoke. We didn't discover the tv was not working until around 1030 and when we called down for help no one answered the phone. Hallway was very noisy and between 4-5am there was a person pacing maybe in the room above. It was shaking the tv on the wall. I have stayed here before with less issues but this time that was not the case.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, all staff was very friendly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and we loved the atmosphere! The food and drinks at the bar and lounge were very reasonable and food was excellent. The bartender was also a blast! We can't wait to visit again!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Clean and great atmosphere.
- 4/5
The hot tub was closed for maintenance. Otherwise the room was sparking clean and the bed was very comfortable and I slept very well.
- 5/5
The hot tub was very hot.
- 5/5
Very clean room. Front desk staff excellent
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
Staff, room, amenities are great. Breakfast is one of the best breakfasts I've had. My only complaint is the elevators need repair. Walking from one end to the other only to walk all the way back across is difficult for sometime like myself that is disabled.
- 5/5
Great hotel with lots of history. Still a very nice hotel
- 5/5
yes
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Staff was excellent.
- 4/5
Good breakfast and people were accommodating
- 5/5
room spacious and bed really good. wall paint a bit cracked in a couple places. check in and out was great. nice breakfast
- 1/5
Loud maintenance noise coming from our window all night. Called front desk, lady acted like it was our fault and we shouldn’t bother her with hotel issues since she works there and all. Told the front desk the next morning and the kid was clueless on what to do. The “maintenance guy” sat down in the sauna and the pool bathroom watching Facebook videos for over 3hrs this morning.
- 5/5
Staff is always friendly! Room was very clean ! Love the free Breakfast!!
- 4/5
Clean room and good price for the room.
- 5/5
Clean room, amenities & friendly staff ! Location is perfect 👌
- 3/5
Otherwise, it has seen better days. Price was very reasonable. Just do not expect a new hotel for that price.
- 3/5
Good hotel. Price was just about correct. Quite—only one elevator in operation.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed the stay. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very nice and the check-in was quick. The only thing I would recommend is an alarm clock and maybe one or two places to charge phones or computers. Iooked all over for a USB port and could not find one. I was lucky I had a charger to plug in. Otherwise, we will be back. We loved the old atmosphere with the furniture and beautiful books in the book cases.
- 4/5
Staff nice. Room was clean. Nice old hotel.
- 5/5
Great place to stay for weekend getaway
- 5/5
A very pleasant and friendly environment
- 4/5
Spacious. Nice bathroom.
- 3/5
Decent hotel, friendly staff. The walls are very thin. I could hear the people in the next room and everyone who walked by in the hallway.
- 4/5
Breakfast was great. The pool area was pretty cold and the hot tub was closed for maintenance during the time we were swimming. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable, ice machines worked and the staff were very friendly. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
I love the Chateau. I love the way it looks. I love the beds. The internet's good. The breakfast is great and all the people that work there make it worth coming back again and again. I've been at this hotel many times and have never had a bad time. Oh, and they have a hot tub. That is amazing.
- 4/5
Shower drain was slow to drain, called front desk and within 10 minutes, maintenance came and unclogged. Enjoyed our 2 day stay and will stay again!
- 3/5
The hotel is very pretty , but not all staff is friendly & breakfast sucked
- 5/5
The hotel is very nice, luv the lobby with the water fountain and fireplace. The hotel is being remodeled and its looks so nice. We had an older room, but it was very clean, the bed was comfortable. Great price for a great value. It’s in a safe part of town, near lots of restaurants. The breakfast was the same as most others hotels, its free gotta luv that! We have stayed here several times and will be going back every-time we stay in town.
- 2/5
I went down to the desk and asked how to fix TV, they said to reset cable box. TV never came up to guide as they said it would. The only thing good about the hotel was they served an excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 3/5
Issues with the TV remote. And the bathroom mirror - when off - was a flashing strobe light - all night long. Though the room was very clean, I was completely confused by the overall atmosphere: outside-Medieval Spain, inside huge overly large heavy dark furniture, room same except to the very modern bathroom - nice. The hall ways need more direction - I had to search to find my room number because there were none listed outside the elevators.
- 3/5
The room was outdated, but overall clean. We went down for breakfast about 30 minutes before it ended and almost everything was gone. The window heater made our room extremely dry.
- 4/5
The food (breakfast) was delicious. Everything was fresh, and the biscuits were delicious.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff courteous. The only drawback was that I couldn't get the television to work. The breakfast was good too.
- 2/5
When we checked into our room, the toilet had overflowed in the bathroom and we walked into Ross sewage after we took our shoes off. Rather than compass a room they just moved to another one and didn’t even offer to help anyway else.
- 1/5
The staff, by contrast, was kind and helpful.
- 5/5
I have stayed here in the past, and it seemed that the rooms have been updated. Ours was very clean with a large TV that was great for watching a little football. We also made use of the pool, hot tub, and sauna in the morning and everything was clean and in good working order. Since we had small children with us, a definite plus was having Santa in the lobby for some family photos. We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Amazing, beautiful place.
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 4/5
Was closed when we were there.
- 5/5
Great staff and clean rooms. Pretty place
- 4/5
Good staff
- 5/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean room , staff very nice, breakfast was good and had variety. The only bad thing was kids running the halls and slamming doors at 2 am
- 3/5
mannerisms were not
- 1/5
I reserved a suite. Tv didn’t work called front desk she explained what was wrong with the TV before I told her. So they are aware this is a problem. she told me she would call maintenance. I asked for another suite because there was no kitchen. she said if there was nothing wrong with the room she couldn’t help. After describing what was wrong with the TV and the fact that I reserved a suite that didn’t have they very thing I reserved it for a kitchen.
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay. Staff at check in was very friendly! Thank you
- 3/5
Slow check in even did pre check in. One person at counter with 12 people standing in line
- 2/5
There were kids running up and down the hall until 1-2 a.m. The individual next to us had his TV blaring at 3:30 a.m. We went to the lobby and asked if that person was leaving and if not we wanted a different room, which they gave us a different room. We had the same issue last year when we stayed except I did call the front desk which was a waste of time because it solved nothing.
- 5/5
Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Cl3an
- 5/5
Clean, well appointed room. Standard breakfast fare, but always hot and fresh.
- 5/5
The front desk lady wasn’t overly friendly but otherwise, everything was good
- 2/5
Lots of issues, just not at all what we expected based on the pictures. The outside feels a bit like a catfish for what the experience ends up being.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and always available. Check-in was seemless. The room was comfortable and clean with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast had both hot and cold options and was very good. The pub onsite had a good menu - some normal options and some interesting variations like rueben eggrolls. It also had local beers on tap. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Pool was great. Lots of food places nearby. Hotel was very clean. Overall great stay!
- 4/5
Great stay
- 2/5
WiFi didn’t work half of the time. Our TV also did not work, the only thing the remote could do was change volume. We attempted to reach staff but was on hold for 30 min and we were sick of waiting. Walls paper thin, could hear every word from neighboring rooms and doors opening and closing all night.
- 4/5
We only stayed 1 night, hardly spent time in hotel. Love the vintage decor of the hotel. Staff was pleasant. The only thing I would say is it was difficult to get extra towels before housekeeping was available at 7am; I advise to ask for it the day before.
- 5/5
This place really checked checked off a lot of boxes for us and really met our expectations! Everything was clean and well-kept, the pool is open for a long time, and the breakfast was really nice. We'd love to come here again the next time we're in the area!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
My absolute favorite hotel in the Bloomington area!
- 2/5
The staff was lovely but the rooms were extremely dated, not very clean and smelled like smoke (marijuana and tobacco). I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were incredibly hospitable and polite, hot tub was very warm (did not eat breakfast). Only complaint was that the bathroom floor flooded was water after a shower, and we used three in-house towels to dry the floor.
- 5/5
Overall really good value for the price.
- 5/5
good price and the room were nice. great hot shower
- 5/5
Great vibes
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very friendly. No complaints
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 1/5
Thumbs up overall
- 5/5
The front door stopper would be appreciated when loading/unloading suitcases.

We were given a room very close to the front desk, and where it seemed a construction crew was staying and residing. There were noises all night both nights. We used a white noise machine to cover the noise, but we would recommend that travelers ask to be given rooms in less busy areas. Since it was a 2-night stay, we did not ask to be moved.
- 4/5
Everything was pretty good but my yogurt at breakfast was outdated.
- 5/5
Clean and affordable. Close to everything.
- 5/5
Clean spacious room. Good service. Good breakfast.
- 5/5
Clean comfortable room. Breakfast was good. Nice variety of food to choose from.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful in making suggestions for dining. Room was very clean. Fun atmosphere.
- 4/5
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Room was clean, bathroom was updated but carpet, bed, decor was older( clean but out of style). Bed was comfortable. No complaints, good for an overnight trip.
- 3/5
The ice machine was down. No vending machines. Air conditioning unit made noise. Mirror light in the bathroom didn’t work.
- 5/5
Room was clean. TV was fantastic. Area has 5G+ WiFi. Staff was efficient and kind. Great location and value!

I have stayed at the Chateu several times since June. Each time there have been improvements ranging from the process of check in updates to rooms and the snack shop. Looking forward to the resturante opening after the first of the year! 😊

I love a good hot tub, the tub was great but the temperature was very hot..could not enjoy. asked them to check because it was so hot. the elevator by us was out of order. so was a very long walk to working elevator with all our luggage. we were the last room on the 4th level, so you would think quiet, but could hear all other rooms, one was having a kids birthday party....the hotel should put all party rooms in the same area. loved the shower only bathroom, glass divider no shower curtain, rain head shower and spray nozzle handheld. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and friendly staff
- 3/5
Decent stay but was double charged for the booking when I booked 3rd party. The property also charged me after it was already paid in full. Also, the shower drain was clogged so the water would not drain well. Enjoyed having dining on site and the lobby appeared well kept.

Someone has breathed new life into this once iconic property.

Good location and value for a stay near Illinois state university.

Won’t stay here again. Staff rude and unaccommodating. Too expensive for what the property offers.
- 5/5
Very nice people

We weren't here for long, but enjoyed the unique look of this hotel. Its a larger hotel than we
- 3/5
I had requested a room on tye 1st floor near the pool but apparently that information was not relayed to them from the site.
- 5/5
Staff were welcoming and helpful when I checked in and then again when I needed to extend my stay. My room was clean and very nicely appointed. Plenty of room to move around snd the bath was recently upgraded and very nice. I even popped into the bar, for a light dinner and drink. The corned beef rolled were great as was my drink. All in all a wonderful stay and will stay there again.

Hot tub chemicals were way too strong making it difficult to breathe in that area. We were disappointed with that but the pool was good as long as you could get back away from the hot tub

Our families favorite stay every time we visit our daughter at ISU. Affordable accommodations, great pool, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, near all the shopping and dining. Only 10 minutes from the university.

Easy to find and well-located off the interstate. This was a quick stay for our fam as we were passing through. Our room was a decent size for four people. And seemed clean. Our room was surprisingly quiet (not a lot of hallway or street noise) Why we won’t be back: Just not our vibe. Felt old, but not in a vibey, nostalgic way. The pillows….oh my gosh my poor husband couldn’t sleep. Worst pillows ever. Bathroom shower - worst engineering imaginable. Three people in our fam of four needed showers and the water is not easily contained inside a poorly-engineered shower stall. Service - slow, and not particularly pleasant. We needed extra towels (bathroom floor) but there wasn’t any way to call front desk or housekeeping for towels, so had to visit the front desk in our pjs ;). We survived one night for sure. Could have been worse, of course. But we will not be staying here again.

Beds are terrible
- 4/5
Decent motel, would stay again.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable room. Nice breakfast
- 4/5
For the price, it was good.
- 5/5
Good price. Clean rooms. Good beds. Good options for breakfast.
- 5/5
Nice and friendly atmosphere excellent value for the price
- 5/5
The aesthetic of the hotel was remarkably well maintained and very charming. It was great driving around the area and being able to pick out our hotel from the surrounding dime a dozen inns and motels. The hotel was kept clean and orderly, the lobby, breakfast hall, hallways, rooms and pool were all cleaned and refurbished frequently. The staff were very helpful, coming to meet our needs from the moment we first checked in to unlocking the pool as the first ones in at 6 in the morning. I’ll take any excuse to stay there again for future trips and strongly recommend you do the same if you’re looking for a comfortable and charming atmosphere. The Chateau wasn’t just a place to rest our heads but also served as a great spot for hanging out alongside the rest of our endeavors for the weekend.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the people were friendly.
- 4/5
Place keeps getting better with additions and improvements. Now have a bar and interior is being remodeled.
- 3/5
The property seems to have previously been an above average hotel. However, it is now in need of a significant update to return to that status.
- 1/5
Walls very thin. Rooms on 3rd floor that are open to lobby and bar extremely noisy.
- 5/5
Friendly front desk staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Nice towels. Breakfast was nicely served
- 3/5
Would not recommend.
- 3/5
It’s an adequate hotel to sleep overnight.
- 4/5
they are trying to update this hotel. They need more attention to details. we had paint spots on our carpets, dirt in the corners of the bathroom. The hotel's elevators both had expired inspection certificates.
- 5/5
Loved the old world charm.
- 4/5
This was our second trip. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff could have been friendlier but they were nice enough.
- 5/5
My granddaughters first time staying in a hotel. It was my birthday trip to see a show at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts. We had no issues with our room, except we had to take stairs since the elevator on that end doesn’t work.
- 5/5
Comfortable, clean, amenities an oet friendly.
- 5/5
Beautiful old Jumer family hotel which has been renovated to re-create the old Jumer 1st class hotel appearance.
- 2/5
They checked someone else into our reservation (because we had the same first name?!) and we had to stay in whatever room they could find for us. Beds were uncomfortable and my daughter was scared to go to sleep
- 5/5
This property is working hard at a rehab of this facility. The original was a go to for locals for dining and an assortment of other positives. I stayed when it was still referred to as the “ Castle” and since the rehab began have stayed often. Staff are knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Extended my stay thus time, they handled that option great!
- 5/5
Lots of shops and restaurants walking distance. Gorgeous building and decor!!
- 5/5
The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in in some time. VERY COMFORTABLE.
- 4/5
Clean comfortable room. Good breakfast offerings. This time, friendly helpful staff at front desk.
- 1/5
Like I was told as a child, if you can't say anything nice...don't say anything. It applies here.
- 5/5
We were very happy to have such a clean room! Also, we were thrilled that pets were accepted. The hotel was not only clean, but it's a beautiful hotel. The antiques and bronze decor was an unexpected surprise. The lobby area very comfortable. I loved the "library" where you could sit and relax while listening to the fountain. The breakfast buffet was actually pretty good. Many times the included "breakfast" leaves much to be desired. But this one was well stocked and had a nice variety. There's a sundry area for incidentals, toiletries and snacks. The hotel has a restaurant but we had made other arrangements so I can't comment on that. There's an indoor pool and hot tub plus a gym. I would definitely stay at The Chateau again. In fact, I've already recommended it.
- 4/5
Room was clean and hotel
- 5/5
Clean rooms friendly staff
- 5/5
We stayed for our honeymoon, and came back for the Apple and Pork Festival. The Chateau is our home away from home until Bloomington is our home for good!
- 1/5
Do not stay here - there was obvious blood on the carpet in the room I was given. I let them know about it at the front desk and was offered another room, which I declined due to the fact that there was a police presence at the hotel (police cars were pulled up by the lobby), there was a group of people literally having a party in the back parking lot which was the only place available to park, and there was literal garbage in the halls and on the antique furniture - several bags of garbage from restaurants that were left outside of the room instead of people throwing them away inside of the room. Due to health and safety concerns, I chose to leave, and by doing that, they charged me an additional $60 for leaving on top of the hotel room charge. The condition of their hotel is what made me leave, and i was penalized for it instead of them realizing there rooms shouldn’t have blood in them.

Nice looking place good pool and hot tub. Nice bar on-site

- 5/5
Clean rooms, beautiful venue, expansive breakfast, great price!
- 2/5
There were bugs in my bed (not bed bugs, but green bugs). They were in the sheets and smeared on the blankets. There were also bugs killed on the wall that no one bothered to wipe down. The carpet had a substance smeared in it and it was just overall very very dirty.
- 3/5
We enjoyed the cleanliness of the room. For us the breakfast was not as nice as expected.
- 5/5
Just an overnight stop on a road trip. We always stay here when traveling I-74. Great price for the night, excellent hot breakfast included. And there's the indoor pool when we feel like a swim.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Clean room. Good breakfast. Good pricing. An elevator that is “Temporarily Out of Order” for MONTHS does NOT qualify for temporary.””
- 5/5
Nice people
- 5/5
I wish the bar stayed open later.
- 3/5
The parking lot was horrible, needs to be re-done very badly. It was more expensive than I initially booked, but that's an issue for Expedia I was told...
- 4/5
Clean personal friendly, dining breakfast tables we wobbly, few of them and tables dirty
- 3/5
Good overall.
- 2/5
Imagine my surprise when there were no housekeeping services the next day. I called the front desk late afternoon that day, I was told that housekeeping is only by request and you have to be put on a list at check in. I said do you think it would've been helpful if someone told me that at check-in? Her response, we normally don't tell people that at check inc because most people don't want housekeeping services. 🤔 I don't believe that most people don't want housekeeping. I believe the opposite. Do better!
- 2/5
Rooms are pretty dirty. Open blinds to let in sunlight and there were cobwebs and dead bugs all around the window. Sheets had stains on them. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The bartenders as well were very outgoing and nice. The property ready needs a deep clean
- 4/5
The bathroom showers also fill up with water and there’s only half doors so water sprays on the floor.
- 3/5
The room was standard. I would avoid the breakfast buffet. The staff was ok.
- 3/5
Located near stores, coffee shops and restaurants.
- 5/5
Beautiful property… great rates and friendly stagf
- 3/5
Liked the overall ambiance of exterior and interior design. Amenities have decreased sharply from when it was Jumers Hotels. The cheap cleaning smell in the room and foyer reminds me of a men’s bathhouse. The door handle operation for the room makes entry difficult. It would have been nice if the desk clerk would have explained first. It would have saved me a trip dragging my luggage back to the lobby and then back to the room.
- 1/5
Checked in and gave an early flight. Put in first floor and they are doing karaoke in the bar. Very loud and going on until late. Asked to change rooms and told they are full. No conditioner in room. Room is old and has Oder
- 5/5
We only stayed overnight after attending a concert in the area. There was not a lot of interaction with the staff, but they were very pleasant upon check-in and check out. The free breakfast was very good and the pool was open late. For the limited amount of time we were there it was enjoyable.

The owners are really working on upgrading rooms and common areas. Lived the room I had this time and the bathroom was well appointed, large and very clean …,very nice. This Chateau has an old world feel about it, and I am really enjoying the common areas with the display cabinets and assorted appointments.
- 5/5
Good location. Nice pool and hot tub
- 3/5
Quaint older hotel with some history.
- 5/5
Hotel was ok. It was beautiful on the outside, but a little dated and run-down on time inside. Room was ok, very basic, not a ton of amenities. Breakfast was ok, food was luke warm, but edible. I liked the gym, only complaint would be the scale didn't work. Overall was fine, not great, but servicable enough.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
I liked the vintage decor. The breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. Be prepared for the $60 hold on your debit/credit card. I will be back.
- 5/5
Great overall I love it

Absolutely loves this place very nice clean and the staff was great close to shopping area and dining
- 5/5
Very quaint and clean. Love the pool and spa. Lobby is gorgeous. Just wish the people who work here spoke English
- 3/5
Combative couple screaming outside the front entrance for two hours starting at 11:30 pm Saturday night. Hotel staff did nothing until we called to complain at 1:30 pm. No housekeeping first day and it took two days for the staff to get us bar soap and fresh towels.
- 1/5
When we came in there were people drinking outside, sleeping on benches. Yelling about fighting someone. It was scary, so much so we stayed the night because we were afraid to leave and go back outside. NEVER AGAIN!!! Our room stinks but again scared to leave. We travel A LOT and to much bigger cities than here and this was the least safe I’ve ever felt.

Excellent location for our needs.
- 1/5
Rented 2 rooms. Tv stuck on 1 channel for the one room remote did not work.. The othwr room had faulty bathroom light and very noisy piping when showering. Asked for a little price concession of $25. Did not offer me a penny. Actually had my wedding there many years ago. I will never stay there again.
- 4/5
The hotel was scrupulously clean, very comfortable and spacious. Also, the price was unbeatable. Only complaint were noisy guests and there’s not much a hotel can do to change that.
- 2/5
Poor parking- most parking in the rear with poor lighting and non-functioning doors. Rooms very tired and worn- some may be refurbished, but ours certainly wasn't.

Pet friendly, clean accommodations, comfortable beds, great stay!
- 5/5
Very well situated place , friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 3/5
They’re trying.. bed was hard and uncomfortable. The pillows they provided appeared to be the size of decorative couch pillows , and on top of that they were flat. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything my neighbors were doing to each other all night if you know what I mean.
- 5/5
Very nice and updated. People are friendlu and respectful. Rooms are spacious and very nice

Thanks

Very nice place
- 5/5
After remodeling, the hotel looks very nice and clean. The area is in has lots of shopping and restaurants. Public transportation is also available.
- 3/5
The shower curtain was moldy. Very outdated. Basically a Motel 6. Waited at front desk for 15 minutes for associate to show up and check me in.
- 4/5
Nice place to stay. It was an older hotel and you could tell it but we were satisfied. We only stayed one night just as a stop for rest to our destination. Probably wouldn’t choose to stay here on an extended stay.
- 5/5
Classic old school awesome stay.
- 3/5
Was in the room 2 nights and was not offered towels. The shower does not have a door so water got all over the floor.
- 5/5
The pet friendly & the free breakfast!!! Clean hotel , very well lit parking lot,,
- 5/5
We had a group of 5 rooms , our experience was fantastic, very clean rooms and hotel, staff were very friendly . The pool and hot tub area was nice and a great exercise room. Would definitely recommend the Chateau. We also enjoy the antique furniture and artwork.
- 4/5
Older property. But kept well and palace feel
- 5/5
Old but very clean and cozy.
- 5/5
All of the workers in the lobby have been super friendly and helpful! Nice area not far from my university.
- 4/5
Very nice modern room in an otherwise quirky hotel. I could not fault the hotel with regard to accommodation but overall decoration of the hotel is somehow outdated. Breakfast was satisfactory but the space available to guests is quite restricted. We spent one night to break our travel and it met our needs perfectly.

I use it as a staycation getaway whenever I need some time alone and it’s just the perfect place. Located in the middle of everything you would ever need in Bloomington. Great pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Always clean.

Very local to everything. No complaints
