Stay at your own risk. We had cockroaches in our room. We found and killed at least 5 of them within 30 minutes of returning to the room after being out all day. There were no other rooms for us to move into, so we checked out. It was already 7 pm on a Saturday night. We got lucky and found a room at a different hotel down the street. When I asked for a refund since we weren’t staying the night, I was told I would have had to check out that morning. I didn’t know about the bugs that morning and there was no way I was going to sleep in that. I left without getting my money back. So please be aware!

I was alone with my child and I felt comfortable and safe for such a great price and we had plenty of time on the beach!

Close to the beach, expected wear and tear for being so close to the ocean. Rooms were quiet.

I stay here often because of the location and convenience and havent been disappointed yet . I will say time to time i have ran across people that made me uncomfortable but the environment as a whole is pretty great for the price. I still plan to stay as often as i can the only improvements i can suggest would be to update the rooms and repairs to bathrooms and thicker blankets

There was very water coming out of the faucet and toilet flush once then play with valve inside the tank, to get filled up, behind every furniture there dirt and dead bugs, refrigerator had left over food from previous renters. I didn’t even try to shower, I wait till I get home, the beach can’t see it over grown with grass from parking lot. The front desk person sat in a chair below the counter, can’t see him, unprofessional.

Hotel was perfect for our purposes. A bed to sleep in, a tv and a shower. Only critique was that the seal on our door was not flush and there was a gap under the bottom of the door. Used a chair to secure the door flush to the seal.

The beach facing window and overall location. Shower water pressure was awesome. There were sone minor broken things and a bug gap under the door we blocked with rolled up bsthmat.

We’ve stayed here several times and always loved it. This time we had a few issues. Shower pressure was horrible it was hardly coming out, there was mold in the tub & shower. We saw a baby roach in the room. Also the floors were extremely sticky.

The only good things about staying at the Ocean View Inn, was the convenience of the beach access and the free WiFi. Other than that, the room smelled HORRIBLE. There was only one thin blanket and one thin sheet to cover up with. The lighting was horrible inside the room. Every time I turned the TV on, I had to go to the input and scroll down to HDMI 1 to watch TV. I stayed for 3 days and after asking for fresh sheets (basic room service) after leaving for the day, I came back to the same sheets and messy bed. There was ZERO control of the other guests. The first night I was there, there were five children running around being loud until midnight. After the children were sent inside, the adults stayed outside to continue being loud and doing car maintenance like they were the only guests there. You can hear EVERYTHING through the doors and windows. I could hear so crystal clear that I had to get up and make sure my window wasn’t opened the entire time. The next night I heard a couple outside arguing until 3am. I would say that the stay was a nightmare, but I wouldn’t know because I didn’t get any sleep. Will not being staying there again, I don’t recommend anyone else stay there either. Literally didn’t see any staff after checking in.

Handy hotel. The rooms were clean and a nice beach right behind it. Bed was firm the door and window did let a let of sound in so luckily we had quiet neighbour's. Would still recommend

Staff was great. Room was terrible, bugs under and on the cook top, dirty floors, stains on the sheets. Not a good experience at all. But staff was super understanding and gave us a full refund for what was supposed to be a 3 day stay.

Nastiest place I have ever been in, and by far the rudest staff. There is nothing I could recommend about this place and the pictures online are not at all what it looks like. All I would say is start there at your own risk, safety and health.

Staff were very friendly, my requests were answered and taken care of. Housekeeping staff were courteous. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Being right on the ocean sold it for me.

Next to the beach The room was dirty. AC unit was extremely dirty. Only a very bright overhead light but no bedside lamp. So if you like to read you have to read in bright light then get up to turn it off when you want to sleep. Sketchy characters lurking around at night. Witnessed a guy peeing under the stairs when I returned one night. Staff was very friendly but would not recommend.

Why it had a beach view it’s very dirty. I was honestly scared to sleep in the bed. Towels were stained and I was very uncomfortable. When leaving I had a man begging me for money. Will not be back due to that. The front desk guy was nice tho.

The beach view The room all together the bed was hard they only gave 3 pillows the bathroom was disgusting the room itself was nasty had dirt grease around the rims of the room didn’t plug my charger in didn’t want to touch the walls and since the pictures online showed how beautiful it was we decided to book a room but of course pictures tell more than what it really looks like. The bathroom light had a shortage. The bathroom was disgusting. Couldn’t get a refund because you pay online thru a different site then the hotel sight. Oh don’t forget woke up to a roach in the room. Please don’t book here. I will never be back to this roach motel.

Beach view is through a window that was beside steps so occasionally other people could see into your room.Room was clean and staff was decent. Many extended stay loggers, nice full fridge!

The room was very clean with operational laundry and ice facilities steps from the room. There was great water pressure (and an actual bathtub!), a tidy kitchenette, comfortable beds and an amazing view. Some of the other guests were loud and disruptive, but no complaints about the hotel itself. Located right on the beach, only a short distance from a shopping center (Harris Teeter) and multiple fast food and convenience stores. Our stay was delightful- couldn't be happier. Thank you!

Yes. The heat and hot water took forever to come on. As the night went on, the room became an inferno! Also, the door jam has been racked so many times, you could close it and see the parking lot around and under it.

Well when I got there they told me I couldn’t get the room even tho I already paid for it and reserved it they said I couldn’t get the room because the person I was with was banned from the hotel but they didn’t know they was banned until after everything was already paid for and I didn’t end up getting my refund yet

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. My room was dirty other than clean sheets and towels. Fridge had rust and mold. Shower handle fell off. Multiple surfaces not wiped down (greasy fingerprints on tables). Roach in the overhead light. People in the next room having fights in the middle of the night and there were men walking back and forth in front of my door for an hour last night at 1:30 am smoking cigarettes and joints. This was coming through my ventilation system but I didn’t want to turn the fan off because the fight between a man and woman was so loud. There were kids playing in the parking lot the night before, which scares me for them! There were multiple drug deals going on in the parking lot on Friday night, all night long. Was supposed to travel with my infant granddaughter. So glad she got sick and had to stay home. This hotel needs to come off your website, Hotels.com! I could deal with the less than sanitary room, but the safety issues are not ok! My hair dryer cord caught fire this morning from faulty wiring in the place. This place needs to be condemned! I literally slept with a table in front of my door for safety purposes! DO NOT ADVISE STAYING HERE!!!

The first room I was given had dead roaches all over the floor and wreaked of cigarette smoke. The second room was cleaner but still wreaked of cigarette smoke. Had a homeless person knock on my door at 1am looking for a place to sleep. Will not be returning.

It was a great location for the beach but the room was not clean. That's my biggest complaint. There was a sock underneath the air conditioner (the air worked great though), a balled up tissue on the floor, and some crumbs (like from a cracker) on top of the bed, plus some other small things that needed a good cleaning. At least there were no bugs!

Its not the best in terms of comfort because its no thick blankets and lighting is limited in the room but its still mostly clean. My only complaint is that everytime i stay here i encounter people who live here and they will bother you and make you feel uncomfortable if you arent trying to talk or entertain them.

Cockroaches the size of my hand in and around our room. There was a half inch of space between the floor to the room and the front door, so the roaches can crawl in and out as they please. The sheets clearly hadn’t been washed or changed before we checked in. Don’t come here.

Ocean View Inn is a place I stay every year for the 4th of July. The rooms are basic needs. No hair dryer, no fancy toiletries. Just a nice clean room, with clean sheets, fresh towels everyday, and a 30 second walk to the bay. It’s perfect for me! They treat their guests well, while giving them the privacy they want.

Hotel looked scary upon arrival. Didn’t feel safe being there with my two children. Would not recommend.

It was good for the price. Private access to the beach too, and I got to watch the sunrise in real time. The staff was nice, and the toilet wouldn't flush when I got there, but they literally fixed it within five minutes and checked the next morning to make sure it was still working ok. Stayed twice so far. No complaints!

The only highlight of the stay was the oceanfront location, but be ready to bring your own blanket since they only supply a sheet, and watch out for the palm-sized roaches that might surprise you.

Being in the beach means sand everywhere…but upon entry floor was mildly sandy already. I understand it is hard to keep sand out, so try swifter. The kitchenette availability was nice considering the price, but offer a kitchen towel for drying and maybe some soap for dishwashing as a standard.

. Trying to get a refund from Expedia but not being successful due to location policy which is crazy to me! I feel due to Expedia representing them I should be able to get a total refund! I would not recommend this locatiom to ANYONE!

First night room had vinyl plank flooring and it had holes in the floor about golf ball size.They found me another room. Second night the freezer was frozen open so I needed to defrost/ chip the ice away so the door shut.rooms were dirty and found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom during the night. They advertised as newly remodeled. They refused to refund my last night stay and I went to a different cleaner motel!

They are very rude I have kids and they just care about the money my fridge doesnt work it leaks everyday it's a leak in the sink in the kitchenette Everytime you use it and the sink in the bathroom something is clogged there the maintenance came once when I wasn't here so they didn't come in and never came bk I been here over a month and bc I asked for a lower price bc it's not fully working they call the cops. But there's 20 plus homeless ppl all around and they don't get baned

Outside the room there was dirty clothes panties bra’s, trash, beer cans. Looks like homeless are living on the stairs and people actually living in the rooms. Requested a refund and have not heard anything yet. I would not recomment anyone to stay here it was god awful. Was only there 10 minutes..

Beware! When we got there there were hookers and drug dealers in the room across from us, in and out of the room. There were sketchy looking people in the some of the rooms, standing with the motel doors open looking at people arriving, like they were checking to see who they could rob. The room was filthy. Blood stains on the sheet on the bed. Only one sheet, no blanket. Blood stains on the carpet. Dirty windows. Burn holes in the carpet. The battery had been taken out of the smoke detector. Walls were dirty. No coffee maker. TV didnt work. Shower curtain rod pulled out of the wall. Something.some kind of slime, was on the chairs. This is the worst motel I have ever stayed at. Will not be back.

Manager at front desk is very rude and nasty I would never stay here again PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS HOTEL THEY ARE RUDE AND NASTY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

The owner is the rudest person I have ever met in my entire life. He talks to people like they dogs. He doesn't even have insurance on the property, it has expired

Very dirty, very disgusting mold smells of cigarettes many broken or missing items. So bad that even though I checked in at mid night I booked and left for another hotel getting there at 1am after a full day of travel. Should of gotten a full refund but didn’t even want to stay any longer than I had to.

The cigarette smoke was very strong in our room until 2am so it was coming in from another room somehow. There were questionable people around the front door asking for money. It was scary!

This "non-smoking" room smelled of cigarettes, including the pillows. No top sheet, no phone, no hot water, no soap or shampoo and a carpet that defies description. No view and no coffee pot in the room, no coffee in the foyer or anywhere nearby to purchase. A staff that was rude and scary. I was actually threatened when I asked for assistance with the television.

Washers and dryers where old and beat up, worn out and actually only one of each worked.

Im not typically ever a complainer but people should know this place is a bit rough not for the faint of heart. When i got in there was fecies floating in the toilet and it was dirty as hell all over the bathroom. Bugs yerin and dirt and food splatters. Microwave was gross covered in old food.The sheets had dirt on them and stains. I dropped my phone under the bed and there were used syringes. Sticky counter by the bathroom. Shower had who knows what film dirt scum etc.in addition to that super freezing cold night. Right on the water. The heater is too old to work or put out any heat no matter how high you put it. Frozen in the dirty motel is a vibe you will never forget unfortunately and youre sure to shiver a little each time you remember.

Disgusting. Fresh blood on the sheets, mattress cover smeared with something brown (with fingerprints, so done on purpose) and had cigarette burns in it, naked frayed ends of wires hanging out of the walls, smelled musty, toilet did not flush, no hot water. Dried silly string stuck to the walls. Heat broken, only worked at 85 degrees. Was supposed to stay two nights, checked out after one, did not get any money back. Will be appealing to hotels.com

Horrible place, the only good thing that made it barrible was the fact that is was on the beach, other than that, the room smelled horrible, hole in wall, no proper service for assistance, and when I mentioned I didn't feel safe in the area, nothing was done about it, people walk around outside my apartment doing drugs smoking and so many other things and when I mentioned how I felt no one was even concerned...

Was right in the water but had homeless people on property.

Room was worn down: toilet didnt flush, had to lift top to allow it to fill. Floor was extremely dirty, top sheets and towels were stained. It has potential but needs work...or atleast to be cleaned thoroughly.
