    Well it started off a little rough! I made this reservation months ahead of time. We got to the desk and we were informed that the hotel was overbooked! I reserved two rooms and the girl at the desk seemed quite flustered. We ended up with conjoined rooms, which was great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well.

    Desk clerk was not trained for her job! Called from airport for the shuttle and she said it would be there in 2-3 minutes & driver on his way…20 minutes later I call her to ask where the shuttle is. She puts me on hold for over 10 minutes.

    The toilet in our room wouldn’t flush properly. Tried to call the front desk using the phone in the room, but there was no connection to the front desk. There was no bath gel wash in the container in the shower. Lighting in the room is very dim.

    Close to family we were visiting and convenient to alot of stores and activities. We arrived on a Tuesday and didn't have our room cleaned until Saturday. The front desk gave us our towels and toiletries when asked for. They said they were understaffed.

    The hotel was okay. The room was relatively clean except it smelled like an old dog and mirrors and tv were dirty but this is a theme at this hotel. The windows in the dining area are FILTHY with children’s hand and mouth prints. I reported it to the 3 staff members idling at the desk the first day. The windows were never washed. The door exiting by the elevators had dirty windows. The coffee area was never cleanly maintained. I used hot water for tea and napkins to wash the counter myself before I made coffee. The washer/dryers are antiquated and strongly smell of mildew. The overall feel to this hotel is that it needs an overhaul. This being said - I have stayed in MUCH worse hotels in VB/Norfolk and I’ve stayed at the ocean front. I chose this hotel for the convenience of it having a shuttle to the airport which the driver never picked me up. I was told by staff that it’s a “courtesy”. Whatever that’s supposed to mean. If I set my pick up for 5:30 and you’ve left me at my hotel at 5:30 - you haven’t provided the service you say you provide at the hotel. Thankfully my husband was able to get me to the airport for my early morning flight!! Would I recommend staying here to others. I’m not sure because I know this is the typical hotel for the demographic of the area. Would I stay here again? I’m not sure.

    The room is very clean and tidy. The AC worked perfectly, and I really liked the ease of the app using my phone for the door, check in and check out. I loved that! We were in room 430 and the toilet flapper was broken and so it ran and ran and let you took the lid off the tank and fixed it. Our room was on the street side and the traffic noise was so loud that it kept us up most of the night. The bed was hard as a rock, and we like a softer bed. Also, the pillows were ridiculously hard.

    The staff is always on point and willing to make me stay a great one. I appreciate them all I had to change my room due to the smell of the room and bathroom. Once in the new room the bathroom still smell of heavy urine. Unfortunately there were no more rooms available. Something has changed the rooms have always been fresh smelling. I believe it's time for a deep steaming for rooms and bathrooms.

    We ended up having to extend our stay by several days due to the ice storm. We were in town for a cruise, and our transport back to NC was cancelled. The staff was so kind and helpful; they answered every question I had since I'd never run into this situation before. We arrived around 11am after getting off our cruise to freezing, windy weather. Check-in was supposed to be at 4pm, and they were SO nice and found us another room that we could go ahead and check into early and warm up. Breakfast was amazing (those waffles hit different! Highly recommend!). The location was very central to places like the mall, Walmart and other places like that. Which was great since we had to stay a few extra days and needed to grab some food and things ,so we wouldn't need to order out. There was a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge in the room. While we would have gone home, this place was a great, unexpected home-away-from-home for a few days. The beds are pretty thin and make a ton of noise every time you move. I didn't sleep very well during my stay. Also, the hotel itself was very quiet, I don't think there were too many people staying there (at least not that we can tell). But we happened to be next to someone in our room on the 4th floor, and they were super loud. The walls were thin and we could hear them every single night. I don't really place this on the hotel, though. More just bad luck. But still- good to know.

    Issues with tv not working. Asked for help. No one explained the 2 remotes or how they worked. TV said no signal. It was supposed to be addressed while we were out. Returned to same issue and told we would have to wait until tomorrow. Fortunately I was able to figure out smaller remote that says room control was for the tv. Difficult to navigate but I was able to get something going.

    We have stayed at this property many times over several years. The location is convenient to where we visit in the area. Over the years the level of service has slowly eroded. Our most recent check-in was less than impressive. No one at the front desk had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to show up. There was no sign or notice posted at the front desk. Once the desk clerk showed up, the greetimg was less than cordial and very uninviting. I guess I'm a little bit overly critical as I managed hotel properties for many years. Hampton Inns have a wonderful reputation and they deserve it. This property is top notch in every way and we will continue to stay here. They need to address issues with staffing and guest satisfaction. The morning desk clerk remembered my wife's name and greeted her warmly. Thankfully I'm retired now and don't have to fight to hire the right employees.

    Pick up from airport required a second phone call. Tried to make a last minute reservation directly with the hotel but could not get through the answering service so booked directly through Expedia and all went smoothly. Once we go to the hotel the accommodations and breakfast where wonderful. The return to the airport was a but delayed but we built in an extra half hour so and all went smoothly.

    Hotel was nice and updated . The room was very spacious however the bed was very uncomfortable, it was hard and there was an automatic night light in the room that shined right in my face making it hard to sleep. I finally found a way to cover it up as it was built into the wall socket . Shower water didn’t get real hot . Other than those annoying things it’s a very nice room . Airport shuttle driver was a little rambunctious drove quite fast !

    We especially liked the location that was a few minutes from the airport. The complimentary bottles of water and snacks for Hilton Honors members were appreciated. The breakfast fare was acceptable. Having stayed there in previous years, we were somewhat disappointed: 1) that the handle that operated the shower was so tight we had to request assistance. While waiting for maintenance to arrive, a member of the housekeeping staff actually came in fix the problem; 2) no housekeeping service was provided during our stay (a total of 3 nights by 3 separate reservations). We will look at other hotels before we stay there again.

    While everyone was friendly and polite, it saddens me that, as someone who recently switched from a Marriot Rewards Program to Hilton Honors, there was no mention of any treatment that made me feel like a special guest—even after I stated that, for personal reasons, I switched after being on the Marriot Reward Program for 30 years. When I arrived to check in - the woman at the desk asked someone else to check me - and said that person was "new and needed the experience." - However, he laughed (the person who asked to check me - he was not behind the desk at the time), so I was not sure this was true. If it was true, she should have made sure he checked me in correctly. I explained why I was there and that I saw a bad review about someone else being checked into a noisy room - So I wanted to make sure I got a quiet room. He checks me in a room beside the highway. In addition, the room was dark, and things in the room did not work - that should have been checked or addressed before checking someone in.

    Check in was fine. However later had trouble getting the front desk clerk away from the scary movie she was watching to ask any questions.. Bed comfort not up to Hampton's I have previously stayed in. Continental breakfast was substandard. Water for showers-little pressure and lukewarm temperature.     I stayed here in two adjoining rooms with my wife, kids, and dog. The hotel was nice, the rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly, the pool was heated (and actually felt heated!), the breakfast was good (sausage patties, western omelettes, waffle maker, along with all the normal stuff the morning we were there), parking was easy and it was an overall great place to stay. If I need to stay in the area again with my family, this is where we'll stay.

    Stayed for two nights for a family function. Tha airport shuttle service was a huge plus. Coffee and tea is readily available by the front desk. The hotel is very clean. Thy offer hot breakfast which was good. There was a variety of options and the area was clean. There was a worker monitoring in the area. The bed was a little too hard for me but my family was ok.
