We do not recommend going here. Me and my partner paid for an ocean view suite only to be looking at other buildings. The front lady was super disrespectful to both me and my partner. Everything is very under maintained and gross. Don’t even get me started on our room. We walked in and the first thing we saw on the couch was a dead cockroach. The floors looked all smudged and dirty, appliances look as if they have mold on them from not being cleaned, and the bath was dirty. When we asked to get a refund from the lady, she was denying that the room was dirty and met her standard. Luckily we were able to get a refund by getting help from Expedia. Go spend your money elsewhere.

Looks nothing like the photos it’s a motel not hotel people live there with their pets they’re outside at 2-5am yelling talking playing music cussing and all sorts. There was a fly buzzing around our head upon trying to check in the room was out dated and dirty, cracks in the paint a DIRT ring around the tub, the door lock is almost off the hinges and even after cleaning the room it smelled HORRIBLE N E V E R A G A I N GHETTO!

Our stay was good floor was gritty when we checked in bathroom nice and clean and overall the staff was great and made our stay like we were at home and the fishing was really good and being on the beach was very nice and the pool and the hours for swimming was # 1. All of this combined made it an excellent stay.

We were right near the water but this definitely wasn’t what I was hoping for when celebrating my anniversary. The only good thing I could say is about the staff. They were very friendly, but that couldn’t make up for my disappointment.

I checked in and left 15 minutes later and stayed somewhere else. Room was dirty and dated.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The place looks nothing like the photos listed online. Its a total dump!!! There was marijuana and cigarette smoke coming through my vents the entire time. The room was FILTHY!! The entire property is beyond disgusting...trash everywhere. A meeting ground for addicts getting high, needles all over the back parking lot. People OD here. Its obvious. Had to watch where my dog was stepping due to syringes!!!! Every corner of the room was covered in animal urine (certainly never cleaned) the towels were shredded with huge holes and stains, bugs!! ROACHES!!!! I asked to switch rooms and I was told there's nothing available due to it being Memorial Day weekend. Even considered switching hotels altogether, again no vacancy for over 60miles. Dangerous area. Highly do NOT recommend staying here.

The room faced the Chesapeake Bay, it was amazing! My friend is disabled, we were able to easily walk down to the beach. The room was relatively clean, there was a hand towel on the floor from a previous guest. Everything else was fine. The beds are comfortable, and have USB ports on the nightstand which made charging devices very convenient. There was a dirty hand towel on the floor that housekeeping missed. The neighbors were noisy, but not for too long.

Overall an older motel, but we were happy with our stay given the price and location.

I don’t know why it’s called a Hotel when it’s clearly a motel. House keepers do a bad job at cleaning the rooms good. I wasn’t comfortable the whole stay at the room. The beds are hard and the sheets are passed used up and what they call breakfast is a joke. They only served waffles,toast and cereal….no meat or drinks at all. My opinion the rooms should be cheaper.

Dirty face cloth left in the shower. We had have them replace the shower curtain because it was filthy. Would not recommend this place.

The location by the Chesapeake Bay Beach was nice. My room was not the cleanest but manageable. The breakfast only offered pancakes and cereal. The place could most definitely use a little upgrade and updating. But I'm pretty sure with that being said the rates will go up as well.

Save yourself time and don't bother yourself to book your stay here. The worst experience one can have.

I really like the aria and the room was so clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. Everything was excellent, except for the smell of cigarette smoke drifting into the room, with no way to ventilate it out.

Room was dirty and smelled like cigarettes. Jacuzzi tub wouldn’t drain, toilet was stopped up, dirt all over the floor. Holes in the bathroom walls. Mini fridge and microwave were dirty. Food splattered on kitchen wall. I took pictures of stuff just in case. Room should have been a $75 room not a $175 room.

The staff was very friendly, but the room we stayed in was disgusting. There was stains on the bedsheets and pillow cases, there was what looked like throw up on our bathroom door and wall. The stuff was also on the ac unit which is weird to me but I don’t know. The floors looked like they haven’t been swept and cleaned in a very long time. The bath tub was gross, looked like no one really came in the room and cleaned it. There was also some really loud people next to us which sucked, we thought we heard a gun shot at one point but it was probably just something they dropped, I don’t know.

I giess the hotel is being updated but due to lack of hot water my family did not shower our stay. Couldn't even get sand off of ourselves. There were multiple electrical shorts. Maintenance did correct most within 24 hrs. No towels or soap was provided for 48 hours. Bed linen and blankets were stained. Plus light switch was hidden behind curtain so we could not turn the light on until maintenence came by and showef us. Plus we had to change where the microwave was plugged in so that it wouldn't trigger the receptical to turn off.

I paid $80/night and could walk right out onto the beach. The staff was super friendly and the room was clean. Some poor DIY decisions it looked like but that's ok. Water could have been hotter in the shower. It is like an extended stay place too so ppl do be living there and whatnot. Dope for the price if you love the beach and just need a spot to wash and sleep.

The room smelled so strongly of cigarettes that we had to leave. It was a non-smoking room, but someone smoking somewhere must have made the ventilation an issue. It smelled like baked in cigarette smell when we got there, but then more like actively being smoked cigarettes as the night wore on.

Trash and bad drainage inn the parking lot- you can't get to the beach unless you walk all the way to the end because it was a long puddle all the way across the parking lot where it meets the sand.

This Hotel Sucked , The Whole Room Was Dirty . I Actually Booked 2 Rooms and They Both were Filty after they said they cleaned them . Had dead flys on the floor , hair all over the room . Dirt and m&m Everywhere, my wife had to clean the toilet again because it was so dirty . Only good thing about the hotel is that it has beach access . When I woke up my wife thought I had pink eye , so now I’m going to the doctor today to make sure my eyes are ok.

This room smelled so bad and was very unkept and dirty. Most of the people staying were long term. The room was definitely used as a monthly rental. Had to call security in middle of night for next room people threatening to kill each other. Thank goodness we only needed 1 night stay. Prebooked with no cancelation. This place was just awful!

We loved the location and waffles and coffee for breakfast. I would have liked to have a broom in the room just due to the amount of sand we had to try to not track in, and still did. Or maybe a feet washing station or a shower outside would have been really helpful.

I don’t like it the staff did not gave us a blanket in winter season. It was worst. In a winter season the staff did not ask to give us a blanket in extreme winter.

We didn’t stay, when we came to the property we drove around the property and there was people hanging out smoking weed. Then went to the front to check in. The manager said since you booked with booking.com, they will call him and tell them we weren’t staying and that we will get our refund.

The phone did not work, rendering a travel to the office for any questions to include the iron. Yes our hot tub was hot enough. The room was in need of a good cleaning cosmetic repair.

Bathroom ceiling had large areas of chipped paint and no exhaust fan. The bed comforter was almost as thin as the sheets. There was only a half roll of toilet paper without a holder so it sat on the toilet tank. The staff was pleasant though.

I had a great view but dirty windows & lack of privacy because everyone walks past your room. Then super past midnight conversations held on the balcony eco clearly into any room above or below. The pool wasn't available. Weird sketch people in the parking lot on bike or hanging out with car and weed smoking outside definitely was not a fan of. Staff was friendly and courteous they were great front desk guys. My room wasnt clean when I got it. The shower had hair, the bed had particles and made me itchy, the sink was dirty and floor & base boards. I cleaned it and didn't bother to let anyone else touch anything. I stayed several nights n the last day was the harshest I arrived late 1am and there was a guy with a bike and heavy jewelry riding in the parking lot. I stayed by myself and had a luxury vehicle which I was concerned it get broken into :( I opened my curtains and was concerned for myself n possessions outdoors. Tough I wanted to leave a great review but what i had read prior was exactly what i also experienced. I thought maybe it was prior to them doing some updates but its obviously not the case. Theres potential but clearly not the right team for execution. I should have spoken directly with a gentleman who seemed to be a manager or supervisor of authority.

Beach View and Beach are the 4 Stars for this place. Really outdated with No Room amenities and Drug Dealings going on the Property that I witnessed. Not a Place for Kids. Glad I was by myself.

On the ground floor, you might have cars or a small hill in of sand that obstructs the view, but we could still see fine. The second floor would be full view.

What we got when we got to our room was not the same. To begin with the stairs to get to our second floor room where on the far end of the hallway. We needed to continuously walk buy the guy selling drugs (wearing a balaklava at times) to get to our room. (He stayed out on the walkway all day the first day) We hurried into our room, locked all the doors, and my wife cried. Our 22nd anniversary already ruined in the first few minutes. To begin, Expedia advertises the room as having a "hot tub". It DOES NOT. It is a jacuzzi. The one thing my wife wanted and asked for during our anniversary was to have a hot tub. The room is a combination of two rooms where the wall in the center has had an entryway put between. They had one small fan trying to blow the single room AC between the two. It was a cool September day and the heat was still unbearable. You can see where the room had been renovated and the secondary AC was removed from the other room. We could not stay in the living room or kitchen for any time because of the heat. Also, due to our kind neighbor, the seeping smell of drugs coming from the room through the wall was terrible. The hurrily-done countertops in the kitchen were coming away from their mounting surfaces and had broken pieces under them... Cannot write more.

The bottom of the door appeared to have been kicked in previously and now didn't sit flush with the door jamb. The bolt meant to securely lock the door was also loose as if it had once been knocked out of place. In one of the stairwells, the pipes overhead were leaking in numerous places - I had to duck around the drips and dodge the puddles. Ultimately used a different stairwell moving forward. The pool was green/brown and supposedly being cleaned but I never saw anyone working on it. At all times, there were numerous people loitering in the passageways and stairwells, smoking and/or just standing around. As I was travelling alone, it made me uncomfortable coming and going throughout the day. It seemed like the property was being used as a place of residence rather than a hotel and indeed, there is a registered sex offender living in one of the rooms.

Excellent views, amazingly affordable for its location on the beach. Unfortunately it’s obvious it is an old “brand name” motel that was popular for basic accommodations at a cheap price. Interior renovations are good but some of the obvious things of cheap motel past are still there, water damage on bathroom ceiling, stains in bathtub, paint splatter on bed frames and room phone, not the cleanest sheets and towels. Bathroom door looked like it had seen better days and the handle itself was hanging in there by sheer willpower, room windows were not properly sealed in their frames and let in an eerie whistle with the wind. And there were a LOT of spider webs on the door frame and windowsill outside. But, you do get an amazing location for the beach- it’s literally right there- and quite nice and private. If you are looking for four star accommodations, this is not it. But it definitely is a nice enough, clean enough motel at a really good price for a weekend beach trip.

It seems as though they put the Expedia guest on the outer perimeters of the hotel, however there were people living in the inner perimeter of the hotel, not a good look at all for what we paid. The breakfast did have waffles no fruit, and the juices and coffee were watered down, we watched the attendant take bread that had been left out and return to it to the container for use the next morning... There was no iron or ironing board in the room either. I have never had this problem when staying at an Expedia supported property! We did cut our stay short do to this property not being up to standard.

I was a littile disappointed by the lack of seating in the room and breakfast area. But the staff were absolutely awesome, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

I couldn’t believe how dirty my room was! There were long hairs draped over the tub and someone else’s grit in the sheets. No way could I sleep there. Turned around and walked out

Two hundred dollars dollars a night for an under a hundred dollar room. There were cigarette burns in the comforter as well as human blood on the door jam, there were blood stains on the sheets. The place is very ghetto. The breakfastwasalso very lacking.

The best was horrible and the comfort or was the thickness of loose leaf paper. The tub was repaired and it wasn't a great job so it was slick as heck and there was hair all in it. It was only a single night but I did not sleep at all. Not sure how it gets good reviews because it's definitely dated and needs help.

It takes some people time to warm up to others, however getting past the greeting, staff was great. They let me borrow a broom to keep down sand in my room. No lifeguard in pool.beach at front door. Beach happening at night. Bring tent, chairs, n tiki meet new people so fun.

This is my 2nd time staying within a month. I'm not sure what is going on with the other reviews because I didn't see any bugs either time. Our room was clean and smelled like fabuloso. Maybe the housekeeper on the side we stayed in needs a raise! With the age and location of the building, it definitely has the potential to be one of those really gross places. However, I think the owners have done a really nice job with what they have. I haven't used the pool or breakfast, so I can't comment. A few improvements would be a towel hook on the bathroom door (last room had one), 2nd trash can for the bathroom side, full length mirror. And later breakfast!

We loved the beach and pool. The shower had some kind of orange residue on the wall that could be scraped off, and sand on the floors - though I imagine being next to the beach that is probably hard to avoid. Breakfast included bananas, bread, waffles, coffee, juice, and cereal. Very simple. No complaints. The beach was so wonderful we would easily return (maybe with my own towels and cleaning supplies just in case).

Drove all night just to get there and find roaches in our bed and on the walls… obviously couldn’t stay there. Didn’t even apologize or offer to give us a voucher for another hotel when I have children! Do not book here

The nice beach behind it is the only thing nice about this place. Upon arriving I noticed black mold all around window and door. Then as I always do inspected bed and around bed to find what seemed to be bedbug shells and droppings. Under the bed was old pizza. The bathroom was updated however no trash can we had to move the one from the living room to it. They had half a roll of toilet paper there we had to ask for another roll. We had 3 towels the whole visit when asked housekeeping for more was told they only allow 3. The tv was stuck on cc mode with narrating and would not change channels or go to the guide. We even tried new batteries for the remote provided by front desk from their junk drawer. Orange juice in the morning was watered down and toast was burnt. The vending machine had nothing in it. The sheets and curtains were stained up. The ac smelled like it was on fire. The pool was piss warm. Nothing was clean or updated or even remotely worth what you pay to stay here. Skip this place...stay down the road walk to use its pretty beach part.

The AC in the room they gave us didn't work, so they moved us to another room that didn't work either. The floor was incredibly dirty. The bathtub was clogged and wouldn't flush when we showered, and the toilet wouldn't flush completely. I wouldn't recommend it at all; everything is in terrible shape.

Rooms were not very clean , but for the price and location it was worth it. Easy access to the beach and very quiet area. Breakfast was a no go with the hours only being from 6am to 9am. Most people on vacation are sleeping in. Would definitely go back in the future.

Wanted 2nd floor and staff did not change. Online did not specify what floor. Good access to beach. Frig was iced up. One lamp did not work. Breakfast was vague, no meat. Pool closed too early not agreeing with posted sign.

The outlet by the sink didn’t work. The bathroom didn’t have any air vents it was very hot trying to take a shower. There was sand on the floor and the floor was dirty. We had to ask for towels and trash bags every day we were there. The place smelled of pot. Sone shady looking people hanging around. We could hear the people in the room beside us talking and partying all night. Will never go there again.

That it was so close to the beach

Check in was normal, staff was friendly, and most importantly, the room was clean. Hotel is right on the beach and walkable to a restaurant and a couple stores (a mile or so). No issues. Would return.

It's my first time at this place and I'm disappointed. The room they gave us was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, and the floor was muddy. The room had a bad smell. A very bad experience.

Would not recommend coming here if you have children. Very unsavory people hanging around the hotel after dark. Everyone was drinking and smoking. Convenient because it’s close to the water but NOT worth it! Did not feel safe

Room was dirty - baseboards were disgusting, multiple stains on bedsheets and towels, musty smell was very overpowering, too many hairs to count in the bathroom/shower - I could go on and on. HOWEVER, the beach is beautiful and not crowded. Definitely will NOT be staying here again, but the beach helped a tiny bit lol

Ok so I’m torn. Location? Beach was RIGHT THERE. Price? Spot on. The pool was beautiful and warm. The beds were clean. The building is dated and worn and in great need of sound proofing, (that toddler in the room next door was having a bawl during bath time. It sounded so cute, honestly) but it was clean. However - a foot shower at the edge of the property would improve things by far! Sand was everywhere and I am borderline OCD about such things. With no way to clean off, it’s impossible to keep it out. The beach was almost 100% private but a little trashy. Literally. Ya get what you pay for with clientele also. People were smoking everywhere and we could hear everything happening in every room around us. The lady who checked us in was not seemingly friendly but the guys were more than pleasant. Would I stay there again? Probably not. But if you need a family getaway for a tight budget- look no further. You can enjoy yourselves here and still have money in your pocket when you get home. :)

This place was a nice place to stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. Great place to be for the 4th of July events.

Bathroom wasn’t working told them in the morning, asked for fresh towels and for them to clean the room and when I got back to the hotel in the night they still didn’t check on the bathroom to see what the problem was and room was still a mess and no fresh towels then when I told the guy again at night he got an attitude

The property was the worst place I ever stayed. The room doesn’t look nothing like the pictures. It was holes and cracks everywhere, paint chips, and stains on the beds. The shower curtain smelled like smelly feet. The property looks very suspect and to top it off they had bed bugs. Book at your own risk. Please save yourself from a hotel of hell! You will be scared to sleep at night.

Nice quiet place for a family vacation.

Convenient to fishing. No towels, stopper for tub, no extra blankets for bed, no coffee, no complementary shampoos, soap. Remote didn't work. Someone knocked on our door during our stay to fix a hole in the wall. There was empty rooms on bayside which we were told when booking that they had no vacancys.

Unfortunately, the room did smell a lot like cigarette smoke for a "non-smoking" room.

I was so pleased with my stay. Prior reviews made me weary of the place and almost cancelled. I am so glad we did not and we got to enjoy a lovely stay. The place was clean. Room was spacious and clean. No bugs. Water pressure was great. There were no homeless people around property. No drugs . No trash anywhere. It was very nice and clean. There was even one person cleaning the sand away from the rooms making sure the property looked neat. There was someone. Trimming the bushes as well. Beach was right as you opened your door. My husband and I were very pleased with our stay. The breakfast is limited but it did have Belgian waffle irons and toast. The property also had a very nice coffee maker for espresso and regular coffee and it was something we enjoyed very much.

Paid over 400 dollars for 2 nights in a suite and it was extremely hot rhe whole weekend they told me the only tine i complained that i could only get a fan thats all they could do so i ask at checkout could i get a discount or something due to it being hot all weekend the man told me no and that i shouldkve just checked out also called me a american and said americans always want something for nothing

This was a last minute book. Whem we arrived the guy who checked us in was very nice. When we gotvtobour room the curtain was open and the sun beating into the room. It was 95 degrees out and the rooms ac was turned off. When we checked in at 7pm we turned the air on and went to the beach-which was beautiful. (Prolly the best part of the property). We then headed to the pool where we had to pass people smoking amd would not move. Once at the pool it was crowded. Once back in the room it felt like the ac was not working. We all showered with the 4 towels we were allowed for 4 people. Once out of the shower the heat kicked right back in and sweating non stop. Went to the front desk to inquire about doing something about how hot the room was and the guy at the desk (not the same as checkin) didnt seem to care. The people around the hotel we questionable. The door wouldn't shut all the way, the sibk wouldnt go down, and the room was crazy hot. Needless to say we packed up and left at 10pm. When leaving the guy again did not seem to care we were leaving because if everything, and then seemed bothered when i asked for a receipt to show i checked out early.

It was an okay trip, not much close by for food or shopping. Room needs a good deep clean (walls were nasty). View if on the water side was nice. Not sound proof at all so you could hear people outside all night long. Tv was messed up and always glitching. Was supposed to be no smoking but the room smelled like cigarette smoke when you walked in, blanket had cigarette burn holes, and the tub had cigarette burn marks on it. Was also told no pets when we called to ask but saw quite a few people staying with large dogs. Pool was nice. Beds were shown to be queens but we’re definitely full sized.

The pics on the website are either old, or the time vary greatly. It's basically a 2 star place, so I wasn't expecting much, nor do I set the bar super high when I just need a place to rest my head. I will say this, even though the room I stayed in was in much need out repair and maintenance, it was much cleaner than the Best Western down the road I've stayed in, in the past. Also great beach access, and not that crowded.

That was just the room! The people that hang around the place are Sus at the very least. What I witnessed just coming back from the beach was crazy. There was a man pulling a woman’s arm back to his room. She was pulling away from him, but he was twisting it and forcing her. I saw the lady a few times trying to leave the room, but the man kept sprinting back and forth at all hours of the day and night to make sure she didn’t leave. I asked if she was ok, but she was too terrified to answer. He told me to mind my own business. Can’t believe I had to pay to stay there with my fam and feel unsafe the whole time. Refund?

Terrible place. Left directly after seeing property and room conditions. They still charged us for one day and blamed Expedia, Expedia rep said it was Casa Del Mar that made the decision. So liars as well. Guy changed his story one I said I talked with Expedia. Trashy rooms, noisy, might as well be a half way house. Unsafe environment, terrible customer service, needs to be shut down and torn down. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
