Crashed at this scenic hotel after a LONG 10hr trip from FL to VA. Our room was super clean, the beds were so nice. We honestly crashed immediately 😅 didn't even get to check out the pool or the complimentary breakfast. We'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel has parking for the guests, a pool that is cleaned daily, a coffee and tea machine at the reception area and snacks for purchase. The hotel also has a picnic, barbecue, sunning and shaded areas with brand new outdoor furniture and a cornhole game area. The hotel is children and pet friendly. As a “beach” hotel, it’s an excellent choice. I’m enjoying my stay and would highly recommend.

The location, the beach access was right there. You can easily walk to the beach and the bay is so calm. WiFi did not work. Our tv in the living room did not work. We reported it the day we got in and was not resolved. Loud people waking us up even at 3 am. Smelled some we*d… some sketchy neighborhood. Breakfast was ok, no variety every morning. But the lady who works there is very nice (kitchen).

We enjoyed our stay and would return again. The steps leading to our room could have used a cleaning, otherwise the property was clean and family friendly.

Great stay. I’d it again by myself or with my wife but I wouldn’t want her to stay by herself. Well lit but shady spots at night. No security. Elevators smelled like cigarettes because not everyone oveys rules and some smoke on outside stairs by apartment entrances. Again, no security. Loved beach access and peaceful atmosphere. My wife enjoyed the coffee, small breakfast, and outdoor dining patio.

The only concern that diminished the quality and joy of the stay was the serious lack of water (pressure and volume) both in sink and shower!

Loved the room was definitely big enough for my wife and I with our 4 kids the hot breakfast changed every day so you was stuck with the same stuff the staff was extremely nice and helpful our room was right next to the gym and right above the breakfast area very convenient we had a 2 range stove top to cook on a full size refrigerator big plus for a big family

The ocean front views are beautiful. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly. The pool was clean and refreshing.

15 minutes from the airport. Attractions are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive of this property. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained, surprisingly well priced for a beachfront hotel I would definitely recommend this property and location!

Loved the location, room had a small kitchen, pool was great, multiple outdoor showers from the sand, & breakfast was amazing! The bathroom was tiny & in the bedroom so a little difficult to move around it.

Front office very friendly and the hotel is Pet friendly and well equipped fenced pet place, the breakfast is good but they run out of few items quite often so by the time you want a specific item you may not have it. Asking to refill made the one of the staff not so happy so adjusted with many other items that were available. The beach is not something like the boardwalk type it has coastal beach renourishment metal pipes , so swimmers use caution and the beach also has grass access points and dune grass all along, along with lots of seaweed,algae, and dead coral washed up the shore and if one likes a lighter crowd beach to read book in peace, this beach works.

Having a Beachview was the only nice thing. I spent my vacation there after asking for a smoke room and was told we can smoke on the balcony by a staff member then to be told I couldn't. Then they never came to clean my room, after being there for 2 days ( which I was there for a total of 5 days) they never came to bring me clean towels and wash cloths. The employees at the breakfast were very mean and had bad attitudes. I should have asked for a full refund because my vacation was ruined with their experience.

The property is right near the beach and within minutes of resturants and shopping. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, one of the best I have ever seen. The property is older and has had some upgrades but is still in need of more updates and repairs. The cleaning staff isn't the best, but overall, it was good for the price and I would definitely stay there again.

This property is trash. Floors were not clean. Staff was rude. Room had a weird smell. The room was next to a beach where people smoke. Was charged $100 for smoking when I don’t smoke. This place stole from me. Definitely not the place to stay.

The room configuration worked perfectly for our group, and the location was conveniently located close to where we needed to be. There was ample parking on site, and the breakfast provided had a good variety of options. It was a bit pricy, although not outrageous for a weekend night in late May.

A short drive from Norfolk Airport, so it was perfect for an overnight stay before heading to OBX A little tired in areas and is due some refurbishment, but the staff are super polite and helpful and keep the place wonderfully clean

The hotel has been updated from an older facility and some parts look older. The breakfast had some fresh items which included waffles, eggs, apples, juices and biscuits and gravy and items were refilled. A highlight of our stay was watching the sunrise from our room and balcony.

Have stayed here before. It’s affordable, not too far from where I want to be and I like that breakfast is free. This time I stayed in a King room and I liked that it had a fridge and microwave in the room. Lots of space in the room and bed was nice and big. Floor was very dirty didn’t seem like it had been mopped.

It was quiet and clean and working properly. There wasn’t security so I wouldn’t feel safe with my wife staying there by herself. But for the both of us together or me by myself, I’ll definitely go back, as long as a view to the bay is available with the third, fourth, or fifth floor available.

The location was convenient & the staff was friendly. We didn’t have access to our toilet & shower for a day because of a plumbing issue & we got charged for the room twice. We had already paid through Booking.com 2 days prior to checking in & then was charged again by Best Western when we checked in. I’ve never had an issue before when paying through Booking.com. I’ve already contacted Booking.com because Best Western said they couldn’t refund us. This has been really inconvenient because it maxed out my son’s credit card & now he can’t use it until he gets credited back one of the charges.

Our dog-friendly room looked out over the beach and the motel's dog run. It was clean and everything worked (e.g., fridge, bathroom, lights). Access to the beach was easy. Breakfast was comparable to other free breakfasts. This is my second stay and this location works well for us traveling with our dog. Will be back.

The staff was attentive and we had a full breakfast everyday, which was great because it gave us more time not having to search for a restaurant and had more time with family. Our room also had an awesome view of the beach! I would stay here again!

I stayed in the apartment (manager's suite) for my birthday. The 2 bedroom apartment is really nice. I only get that unit every visit. I wish there was more than just that 1. Has the perfect amount of room. I feel like I'm at home. The stove and oven was replaced with a cook top. I usually host my annual Thanksgiving Dinner here and prepare everything. This time, I was going to make peach cobbler. I go to turn on the oven and it wasn't there. ?. I love the fact that the kitchen table was replaced, but I don't like the folding table. Doesn't fit the decor. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

Only thing that was a negative was the workers with their big trucks making a lot of racket when they left in the morning.

The suite was better than expected. It accommodated 6 of us comfortably. I opened the window for maybe an hour but we ended up getting a party of ants, so wouldn't recommend that if on the bottom floor. Our room didn't get cleaned, but we were able to ask for more towels. Location was perfect for us. I would book again for a short visit for sure.

Not fancy, but nice enough. The room and furniture looked a little dated and the carpet was stained. But it was very clean and comfortable enough. Two large newer TVs in the room. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was much better than expected. Over all, a great deal for the price.

One of the housekeeping staff stopped me and my son as we were walking back from the beach, to ensure we saw the dolphins just off the shore AND a submarine...we almost missed it and would have, had he not stopped us. Good people working here, very quick walk to the beach, and convenient to the overall area.

Room was good most of the time, at first they tried to put me in a different room because of a maintenance problem but I was eventually able to get the room I picked. There was a power outage and one of the TVs was not functioning properly.

All the staff we interacted with was very nice. Despite being the of season and right before a holiday, the breakfast trays were tensed to and the food was warm. Small hiccup when we arrived remedied quickly. Very nice view.

I never found the breakfast room. First night i had a hot shower. The next shower ibhad no hot water. Was hot at the spout but as soon as i pulled the button for shower it went cold. People above took a shower and you cluld hear water dripping. I found a puddle forming from water coming from under the kick board of bathroom. Right below where it was dripping. The $30 per pet PER NIGHT was ridiculous. I was travelling with 2. I can see a fee but refund at least half when staying for longer than a night!! I was there for 4 nights! The fees DOUBLED my price to stay!!

Staff- asked front desk to explain why I paid full price on Expedia then was charged $116.43. She seemed dazed and confused and couldn’t figure it out. She said she would have manager call, but that never happened. From her point of view, maybe $100 deposit, which is more than most hotels, but she had no explanation for the $16.43. So, frustrated, I ask her to just print my receipt so I would have backup. She said she couldn’t do that because there’s nothing to print. I left SMH. If they don’t get it right I’ll just dispute credit charge. Really not a nice stay at all. View of Bay was good. Nice place to walk, also.

We had issues with not having cold water in the sinks, they do not clean your room. We had to ask them to take the trash and dirty towels out of the room.

We had a great stay. The layout of the family suite splits the space into 2 separate rooms, which we really appreciated (no door between the rooms, though). The property is right on the beach; some rooms have a beach view (ours didn't). Free breakfast goes till 10. We stayed Sat/Sun, and there was a different menu each day (plain omelet/ home fries/ sausage - Sat; bacon/ scrambled eggs/ biscuit and gravy - Sun.). Cons: The hotel is right by the main road, so the noise of traffic is quite loud and constant even in the evening. However, you can't hear it when you're behind the building and on the beach. It does make going out very convenient.

I will say, the bath tub was clogged with water and it turned out it was because of the stopper but I assumed house cleaning would’ve done a check before we arrived. I found some stains on the bed cover so I removed it. Breakfast was also okay. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Overall, if it’s a quick stay, it works.

I make this my go to hotel in Norfolk being that its close to my job on the base. Room is always clean upon arrival, great staff . My main complaint is the wifi has issues. Corporate needs to address this.

The room was clean and modern. Beautiful balcony views and a decent free breakfast. The fenced in dog area and access to the beach was an added bonus, I would definitely stay there again.

The only area for improvement would be the breakfast experience. The food was good and provided a nice start to the day, but I noticed that about 20 minutes before breakfast was scheduled to end, the attendant began announcing the upcoming closure and started cleaning and sweeping. This approach felt a bit rushed and made it difficult for guests to finish their meals comfortably. It would be better if cleanup began after the official breakfast hours, so guests could enjoy their food and find a place to sit without feeling hurried. A more considerate cleanup schedule would definitely improve the overall experience.

It would be better if cleanup began after the official breakfast hours, so guests could enjoy their food and find a place to sit without feeling hurried. A more considerate cleanup schedule would definitely improve the overall experience.

The room was clean and inviting. There was one layout design flaw which we pointed out, (where the towel rack was located) and they accepted the recommendation graciously.

Our flight was delayed 12 hours so we arrived at 1am and was pleasantly greeted by Janae. Checked in to our room on the 4th floor. Fabulous view of the Chesepeak inlet. Room was clean n well appointed. They had just freshly painted the exterior of the building. Looked very nice. Great price considering that breakfast was included and there was a coffee maker in the room n the lobby area. Michelle the housekeeper was all smiles and gave us extra towels. We met Tina at the frontdesk on the way out. Super accommodating. And let me quick mention that this hotel has a lil fenced in dog park relief area and an expansive beach to walk your dog.

Good time of year to visit, neither busy nor lonely. Breakfast selection good including yogurt machine with toppings. Probably a lot of guests track in sand on the hard surface room floors but staff didn't mop or vac it up so floor rather gritty which made us keep shoes on and continue to leave more sand. They changed wifi password which was inconvenient but a sign they take security seriously which we respect.

I wish we had better weather, but the walk to the beach was short and nice. The room was spacious and the little kitchenette was very nice. The carpet had some stains, but the sheets were clean and the modern lamps and bedside tables with ample plugs and USB A and USB C plugs was a nice bonus. Really liked the very clean and well stocked breakfast. The staff were happy and helpful and that made all the difference.

Beach view from our room was great! Only thing didn’t like we had a little kitchen but no supplies. You had to go to office if you wanted. Room is what we needed but had a little odd smell.

First and foremost the staff was great. Secondly, the hotel was clean unlike the Econolodge down the street. This hotel is also right on the beach which was fantastic. Great staff, great location, and the facilities were clean.

The room was perfect for 4 friends staying together. Ample parking, quiet stay. Staff was so friendly and checked in to make sure we were doing okay. Saw a couple of nymph roaches, but honestly we weren't really bothered by it. Overall enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was Beautiful! It was clean, the beds were comfy, the view was incredible. The place was Amazing! I will carry the memories with me forever and I genuinely can't wait to go back and visit again! I'm actually hoping to get the same room I had last time. That would be Epic!

If you are particular about your bedding, I recommend bringing your own blanket, it's very limited. And if you have food allergies, the breakfast offerings can be limited (especially wheat allergy) though that is pretty standard for basic hotel breakfast.

The staff was amazing. Had an issue with our room and went back down to the lobby to let them know. Without any hesitation, they changed our room immediately. No issues with the new room. Stay was quiet and relaxing.

They overbooked the room type I had booked and down graded me without prior notification; then refused to compensate price difference because we booked through a 3rd party. Staff wasn't that friendly about the situation.

This property needs a lot of maintenance. When I booked, I didn't realize it was so far from Atlantic Avenue and the Boardwalk. I will not be returning to this area. Beach access was a bear to trod down to. Our view of the ocean was blocked by the dunes. Not exactly what I expected and very, very disappointed.

There also was a slight musty odor.i do understand that they had some coastal flooding days before. So i tried to be understanding, once i was told the room was out of order and should not have been rented. I was pretty upset. The view was lovely but we didn't sleep much because the noise.

The room appearance was very nice and looked like it had been recently updated however it smelled awful like really cheap disinfectant. Even though the room looked very clean, it honestly smelled like a nursing home. The disinfectant smell is so strong, I wonder if it was an attempt to cover up another smell….

Cockroaches, massive groups of people croweded in one room cooking over open firez in room. Angry homeless man shouting racial slurs in front of guests and slept in front of my door ( didnt real8ze until morning) mold , vomiting children. Gross

Liked that hostess was accommodating. We had our dog along. They were to replace the sofa bed mattresses yesterday. Concerned how that might be upsetting to our crated dog. She changed us to a room without a sofa bed so they did not need to access our room with the dog.

Staff was so nice and treated us like friends. The balcony view was amazing! The beach was very easy to get to and so clean! It was an amazing trip.

Did a great job, caring for pets with dog park area. And putting pet owners in roughly the same space. The room was situated well for animals, easy to clean, easy to keep clean. Staff was friendly

Outstanding guest service! Every person on staff that we encountered was friendly and positive. Very refreshing for someone that works in the hospitality industry and doesn’t always receive such a welcoming spirit. Room was just what we needed fir our 1 night stay.

The room I was put it was noisy all night long. I also was put into a dirty room in the fridge there was someone’s hair the floors were dirty and there was water all over the sink in the bathroom and something spattered all over the wall in the bathroom there was pee on the toilet seat and black stuff on the shower curtain. I talked to the manager and was told they couldnt refund me and I should’ve told them about it when I noticed everything. It was late and I was exhausted from traveling. It was almost like it was my fault for not saying something sooner. The manager told me that she could give me points on my account and that didn’t happen. So I reached out to Expedia to step in for a refund and the hotel declined the request and Expedia closed the case I had against them. Only thing good about the stay was the breakfast in my opinion. I will never stay and will tell all my military friends not to as well.

The not so good: there was mold in the shower; the wall was crumbling in the bedroom along the floor; I requested for our room to be swept and it was not, nor was there a broom I could borrow.

If you just want somewhere to stay and have ridiculously close access to a not crowded beach as well as a pool, this is the place for you. We had a suite which had 2 different bed rooms, one had a kitchenette (no utensils, plates, or cookware fyi), and the other had the bathroom. They were recently renovated and did not have any carpet. Our room was pet friendly and they have an outdoor fenced in pet area. Apparently the rooms in th tower with balconies had carpet still which was gross with the sand and whatnot (heard from another person staying at the hotel there). Breakfast was a normal hotel breakfast but well stocked even though people took plates upon plates of food out of the dining area to their rooms. The lobby had a coffee machine which had better and stronger coffee ans even did espresso drinks. We never used room service or cleaning of our room because of our dog so can't comment there. We would definitely come back. Can't beat the access and rooms for the price.

Checking in was so complicated. I had to cancel my reservation to re book because I could not use my parents if even though they were staying with us and they would also be in the same room. The staff was no able to work something else out or anything. They took the money off my card and still had to pay to rebook so the money already had took 5 to 7 business days to come back and I came on a Saturday

A change of towels is necessary on a beach vacation. It is unclear why we didn’t receive towels on our second day after we asked the front desk for them.

The room had cockroaches, too many flies, and was not very clean.

It was nice for me and my family we booked two suites and have a good vacation. A couple of thing i would like to point out. 1). You should had small brooms and dust pans to each room. I asked house keeping and they had nothing. 2). Breakfast should be more then just pork sausages everyday. We were there for 6 days and everyday except 1 pork sausages was on the menu for breakfast. Other then that we had a good time

It was nice as far as the location and the beach being in such close proximity. But I guess that’s all you’re paying for when you stay here cause the room was not very clean I got a suite with a kitchen and all but the kitchen floor was sticky and a lot of the surfaces were sticky. There was hair all over the room. The breakfast room was very small and each morning it’s filled to capacity. There was a lot of structural damage to the room. And the front desk staff specifically were all over the place I worked front desk at a hotel for many years and I was appalled at how I was handled they were arguing with one another In front of guests and they were very impatient. My family and I were determined to have a good vacation so thank goodness I didn’t base my trip solely on my experience at this hotel or else we would’ve had an awful time but you get what you pay for and this was all we could afford. The pool was a great addition and it was very nice.

This place is really a hidden gem… It is super quiet and secluded, which I really like… The breezeway leads directly to the pool which leads directly to oceanfront you can’t ask for much more than that… And the staff was awesome. Every single person we encountered was great

Staff wasn’t the friendliest, didn’t have the type of room I reserved available, so they downgraded my room with nothing besides a shrug. The Main Street is loud and you hear cars and motorcycles racing by all night.

Property description says pet friendly but upon check in was told cats are banned from their hotel and was told my reservation would be cancelled and no refund given even though I was denied a room since I had a cat!

Good location especially if you like the beach.

We stayed for 5 days in one of the apartments. It was quiet and close to the beach. The beach was not crowded and water was clam. The room wasn’t the cleanest so we bought some cleaning supplies and a broom. And if you need cooking supplies you have to go to the office and get them.

AC was too noisy as well as fan in the bathroom. Rooms with dogs ( barking when you want to rest) should be in a specific area.

I booked a room with a view and that is not the first floor. When asking to change rooms the staff was unprofessional and didn’t cooperate at all and even ignored. Wi-Fi is bad and my view was the dog bathroom. Will not be back again!!!

Property location was perfect, beach access right outside of motel. This bayside beach is not busy and low rise tides so perfect if you don’t want to be around a huge crowd. The front desk staff was so kind. I was able to text the front desk while still being on the beach asking them to bring towels to the room which was so convenient. The motel also offers free breakfast ( cereal, toast, baked goods, coffee, waffles, etc ) which is very nice not spending money on going out to breakfast every day. The room itself was dirty, when we arrived the carpet was dirty with crumbs and sand all over & carpet was pulled up in areas. The desk & chair in the room had crumbs all over. The bed itself was clean though, checked thoroughly for bed bugs and none to be found. Every time we used the shower ( yes the fan was on ) the fire alarm went off which was a bit concerning. Overall the location is perfect the stay would have been better if room was throughly cleaned.

Staff was very helpful. Room was nice enough furniture needed replaced couch was peeling. Bed was ok and we found extra blanket in closet. Location was great right in the beach. Dog park on property very convient. Breakfast area was cheery, clean and well stocked.

The location of this property being on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay and the view from our room balcony was the best. We enjoyed sitting out there and just taking it all in. A downside to that was our neighbors enjoyed relaxing on their balcony with marijuana and it was a little much at times (even though the property is 100% smoke free). The room was clean and comfortable (the floor could've been a little cleaner) and had a separate area for the fridge, microwave and coffee maker which I liked. We stayed 3 nights but only had housekeeping stop in one day and switch out some towels - we didn't have a door hanger in our room and I didn't call to request service so not a big deal. The daily breakfast is wonderful! Different egg and meat choice each day, waffles, cereal, breads, yogurt, fruit, juices and some good hot coffee. We definitely enjoyed the breakfast! This hotel is older but its in a beachfront spot, is clean with a great breakfast and a friendly and helpful staff - I would definitely stay again.

The walls are so thin that you can hear everything, we didn’t get any sleep cause the neighbors were loud and you could also hear the noise of the street because the walls are so thin. The only good thing was that it was steps away from the beach.

The room was spacious and beds were comfy- the room seemed more updated for the age of the property. The bathroom was inconveniently small and needs a lot of updating- it seemed dirty given the age, even though it was probably thoroughly cleaned. Breakfast was just okay- one in our party got sick so we didn’t eat it after the first two days. The staff was friendly, but we did have to request items since they don’t clean the rooms daily. There is not much at all to do in the area, and I wouldn’t consider it a safe walkable place. My biggest issue was the marijuana smell that seems to linger in the elevator- I switched to climbing stairs to avoid it! Not the worst place I’ve stayed, but can certainly use improvements.
