    The place is run down I booked 3 nights but by the second night I had to leave due to termites flying around the room it was terrible. I will never return to this place it use to be wonderful.

    One of the rooms booked on Expedia was unavailable. Rooms we were placed in were next to ones where people are living. Rooms very dirty. One room filled with bugs. I should get a refund. The desk lady was very nice and felt bad for what happened and the inability to be refunded. The pool was dirty. The pictures on Expedia do not look like the reality of what the entire outdoor and indoor facility looks like.

    This is my favorite place to stay when I visit Nokomis and Venice. The suite I stayed in was clean and comfortable. Cindy and Dave are kind, helpful, and very welcoming. Thank you for the memories!

    I’m very disappointed when we go there they say they rent the room to another people and we have reservation already so we have to leave and go to another place. I don’t recommend the place to no one very very disappointed.

    Trying calling to let them know we would be arriving after 6pm for check in and no one answered left message with no response. Tried calling again later and again no answer and this time unable to leave a message. Got to hotel and stopped by a lady in the driveway that asked us our name and informed us she had no room for us that they were over booked. I asked why she didn’t call me back to let us know this, she informed us that the office number goes to the owner which never answers the phone or returns calls! She said so nothing I can do good luck finding a place as it’s spring break. We have stayed here several times before but under a different management and had no issues. I still have not heard back from hotels.com regarding my refund. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

    Most gracious and helpful staff. The AC unit in the room we booked was not operating optimally and they moved us to an upgraded room for no cost without even having to ask. Perfect old Florida motel experience. Not everyone's cup of tea, but perfectly met our needs.

    It is not in Sarasota! It is about a 25 minute drive to Sarasota. However, the prices are much more reasonable than in Sarasota. It was relatively convenient for the local. Parking was a problem.

    The bad part, is this place is disgusting! We had to shower with our shoes on, the couch was not a couch, it was a love seat that was stained. The TV didn’t work and the place was extremely small and outdated by 50 years! The pool was gross (nobody swam it the whole 10 days we stayed there). The furniture around the pool was all broken and rusted. We will NEVER be staying here again. The worst part about it all was , we were in the “Suite”. I can’t imagine what the other rooms were like!!

    The place is a half star motel at best. The resident in the other room had 7 pitbulls rooming free unleashed. The "hang out" area was filled with dog urine and dog poo. I left the place that day and have been demanding my refund. Expedia doesn't care about their clients they care for money only. Expedia doesn't care about their clients by offering garbage and dangerous conditions like this. Never using Expedia again.

    The pictures of this property online looked very nice when I got to the property in person. It was absolutely terrible. I lived in that area for about eight years and I’ve never known of this hotel. It was absolutely terrible. I didn’t stay at the hotel, I actually found another place to stay. I don’t recommend this.

    I arrived at the property for my two night stay that I had prepaid for and was told that they were overbooked. While glancing at the sheet of paper it looked as though there were 4 other people not getting a room. Emails and phone calls to the property go unanswered and 14 days later I’m still trying to get my money back. Can’t say what the rooms are like because I didn’t get one that I had reserved, but the property in general looked pretty run down. Don’t book here!

    Seems like a hotels.com trend, but this hotel really goes by a different name...Nokomis Inn. Said they were overbooked, but I could have a "suite" with no AC. Considering the last-minute nature of this and the cool overnight temps, I stayed. The "suite" just meant more beat-up furnishings to enjoy. Parking is a nightmare. Somewhat of a residential place and far from a resort, unless it qualified during the Nixon administration.

    It’s a little dirty. No water pressure in the shower or sink. No one around. I needed toilet paper and had to hunt down a person. The office is always locked.

    I did not enter any rooms, but the grounds were disgusting. Nothing was maintained. The pool was filthy. One "tenant" had 6 dogs running around unleashed and the smell of poop was strong. I have never left a negative review for a business before. Everyone has bad days....but this motel is a place to avoid, for sure!

    The hotel was quiet and the service was attentive. The hotel was renovated in a thrift store kind of way. Structure and surrounding property was run down. It was in a good location for an overnight stay.

    Didn't feel safe enough to stay. Left immediately. Sketchy people and man with 7pit bull dogs running loose. People who were displaced by the back-to-back hurricanes are living there and I really feel bad for them! I'm from Ft Myers and know how that feels...except they shouldn't run the place as a hotel. It's really rundown and unsafe.

    I called at 3pm to let them know we were arriving late for our stay(plane was getting in at 9pm & we had a 90 min drive). Had to leave messages(no one answered or called back). We arrived at 11pm & the door was locked to office. Called & went straight to Voicemail again! Thankfully, there was a Holiday Inn close to this property that had a room available! Went the next morning and spoke to front desk person. She told us that Expedia overbooked them & there were No rooms available!! She was hoping someone would cancel. Well, thankfully Holiday Inn had room & we stayed there for our Vacation. Otherwise, we would have been stranded! Going on 10 days & still haven’t gotten our Refund(because Expedia Rep can’t get a hold of anyone there to verify this-imagine that!!!). Owner of this place poorly runs it & would not recommend if this I how they treat their guests!!!

    This place is a dump and no where near what the pictures show. The room we booked was unavailable so given another where there was blood on curtains and sheets as well as sheets. There was some kind of rodent feces on sheets. This place is disgusting. We left after talking to management who said we would get refund and never did. We are out over $500 for this booking and had to spend another $700 on other rooms. I don’t do reviews but after this treatment I had to, to try and save others the same inhospitable treatment we got. Shame on you for treating people this way and I hope I can can at least one person from making the mistake of coming to this property. Do not prepay your booking site, come have a look first, then turn and run. Hotels that will cost you 250 to 300 per night will be worth it.

    Arrived at the property and were told they did not have a room for us available. We were told that Expedia overbooked them. After reading reviews, I saw that this was a common experience with this particular hotel. I would get the zero stars if I had an opportunity. I feel that they could’ve called us and told us that they did not have a room for us prior to us driving to the property.

    WARNING This is NOT a safe place to be. I feel like I've been catfished by a motel! It looked nothing like the photo's on their website. First off it is no where near Sarasota and it's actually called The Nokomis Inn. The whole property is completely run down the rooms were just filthy, to the point the bottom of my feet became black on the bottom. The furniture in the room was broken old and disgustingly dirty and sticky. No one is making any effort to actually clean. I had to go and buy a mop and cleaning supplies to clean it myself. A shady character who lives on the property is the supposedly the maintenance guy, with his 7 dogs, he's the shirtless, toothless mumbling guy sculking around the place building a ramp for his puppies and a fence in an area for them that is supposed to be a recreational yard for guests. Doesn't seem like he actually does any "maintenance" , oh until 8pm in the evening when all of the sudden he's running a table saw? There is dog poo everywhere and the whole place smells like dog poo. He has a motorcycle he drives on the walkway in front of our door and biker pals napping in chairs next door to us. Calling on his dogs in the middle of the night, "come on guys, hey pups, come on pups, hey guys, come on" right outside our door. Plus he has an un plated Cadillac and an old f150 piled high with what looks like his former household contents, kinda like the Beverly Hillbillies. WE FELT TRAPPED THERE because no availability elsewhere.

    Never again will I ever book with this place. After the run around for DAYS I finally got ahold of David and he said my reservation was good to go! Well here it is the day of the trip- we’re in Georgia ! 11 hours away from home some lady calls and says oh we don’t have room for you. Don’t stay at this dump. David even sent me screenshots to my phone of the reservation confirmation on their computer!!! When we got there we rode through the parking lot after checking into a new hotel I’m so glad we didn’t stay in this dump. Photos are not of actual site !

    This hotel has nothing to offer. There is a microwave, fridge, and a safe. Not even one cup for water or anything else. Very noisy, right next to the road. No desk to put your laptop on and I couldn't get hooked up to Wifi. Never again.!!

    DO NOT STAY HERE my friend and I booked this before our cruise and almost left half way through the night due to how noisy it was. The person next to us is definitely living out of this place and it’s so dirty and unclean. The room we are in had a tv and WiFi that didn’t work - while they told us at check in and said it would be fixed within an hour it wasn’t. There is almost no parking. When we came back from dinner there were 3 sheriffs and an ambulance here. Dealing with an incident that happened down a few rooms from ours. Drug deals were happening last night, doors slamming, it was all very sketchy and we can hear everything because the walls are thin. The pictures do NOT match the current condition of the property.

    We made a reservation with a King size bed. Upon check in, we were given a room with a Queen size bed. Front desk receptionist had no answer as to why and claimed there were no other rooms available. She said she would reach out to the manager. Every day we either stopped in for an update, or emailed the property requesting the same. For the entire duration, there was ZERO RESPONSE. The facility is run-down and needs significant updating. We can’t even say “you get what you pay for.” We DO NOT recommend!

    This place is a total joke as is it's management. I got a call the day of my reservation which was booked over a month in advance from David Friedman saying that they had overbooked and I wouldn't have a room that night and it was now on me to deal with Expedia to figure out where I was going to stay instead and that it wasn't his problem. After talking with Expedia it was clear they had given him my booking info when I had reserved weeks before and he didn't have the wherewithal to do his due diligence to check what reservations he had coming in. It was sloppy, unprofessional and a huge pain in the neck that ended up taking nearly 2 hours to figure out in finding a new hotel room because of how busy the area was. He was rude and should get out of the hotel business if he can't do the simple task of figuring out what rooms were booked. AVOID AT ALL COST.

    Drove 11 hours and at 12 in the morning we were told there were no rooms because they over booked. This is after contacting them twice on the way down and were told there was no problem running late. Half hour before we got there we contacted them again and was told room was ready.

    We ended up not staying more than a few minutes here while we looked for other accommodations. The place was absolutely disgusting! The photos advertised are nothing like how it is in real life. I wish my pictures showed the amount of residue on the floor and the smell.

    Our room was clean but that's about the only good thing. Mattress was really broken down and should have been trashed years ago. Corner seam on the fitted sheet was completely torn and flat sheet was torn across the top. Material seemed to be rotten. Top of fridge was rusted. There were no cups to use to rinse when brushing teeth. Bath mat was an old thread bare towell. I have rags in better shape. AC made strange noises. There was no stopper in the sink. Everything was run down. Didn't use the pool but it looked good.

    We have stayed in this motel several times in the past 30 years. No problems. This visit was awful: unclean, curtain rods falling, smoke alarm batteries missing, uncovered outlets, other outlet won’t hold plug, bathroom exhaust fan not working, no place to hang clothes, no coffee or cups, no door mat (we purchased one). Obvious long-time residents with many dogs, motorcycle on walk, car with no plates. Received toilet paper, styrofoam cups, towels in garbage bag on outside door handle. Beds were comfortable and air worked.

    This property was horrible. Rented 2 rooms left in under 30min because of roach infestation. Said they would refund my money and never responded again. For 2 night I’m out over $500. One room in under 10 min they had roaches crawling on their bags, dog kennel and other misc places in the room. Run from this dump!!!!

    Awesome location, comfy beds, nice shower. The weather didn't allow us to enjoy the pool area but it looked clean and fun if we get back down to that area. The staff were always helpful! It was a good place for the cost, since it can be expensive to find reasonably accommodations in the area and we just wanted a comfortable place to sleep.

    Don’t go. Property address is wrong. Local business didn’t know it. No working phone number. When you do find it through past Expedia reviews it’s actually the Nokomo Inn. No lights on property except one bulb by a door in what appears an abandoned motel. Didn’t look safe. Couldn’t get our money back as they offer no refunds.

    Parking was terrible. Place was poorly maintained. TV was useless… couldn’t get reception. Bathroom was size of closet. Place looked like a junkyard. I’ve been in worse, but that was a third world country.

    GPS was not correct for this address. The front desk had to give me directions over the phone. I had a difficult time finding the motel’s location because it was pouring rain. I only stayed here one night. In the middle of the 2025 Deep Freeze, my room did not have any heat. I don’t mean that it wasn’t working - they did not have any heat. There was no hair dryer and I didn’t want to come out of the bathroom with wet hair because it was too cold. The next night was even colder so I got another room at a Holiday Inn. This motel was a bust for me. There wasn’t even a place to get a cup of coffee on site. The front desk was very kind, even though I had to go through the owner to get to her. Don’t stay here in cold weather. It’s probable okay in the spring and summer.

    The property was difficult to find. I was nervous to be at the property by myself, and was happy my cousin was staying there also. Some tenants had very scary dogs. The manager was very kind to me, and lent me a coffee pot.

    Everyone’s entitled to a good time, so we just went with the flow. It wasn’t noisy, deadbolt on the door and a coded number entry. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, but not terrible. We never got to enjoy it during the day because this was a working stay, but there is a large tiki-picnic bench area, a large pool and typical parking horizontal in front of your room. We drive a Transit, so Cindy made accommodations for our large vehicle, but parking is very limited. There are amenities in the room, but I advise bringing your own. Towels don’t match and they are pretty worn, however, they are clean. I wouldn’t give it a terrible rating, but if you are expecting Hampton Inn…
