Reviews
The hotel has a great location, with clean rooms and friendly staff. However, some guests have complained about noise, outdated facilities, and extra charges for parking. The breakfast is generally well-liked, but some guests have mentioned it being mediocre.

Very nice breakfast. The room was quiet

Location was about the only thing I liked here to be honest 1 Star My first impression was that this felt like an old motel-style hotel. Upon check-in, the front desk agent, Manpreet, was not particularly welcoming or friendly. Since I was traveling with small children, I specifically requested a clean and convenient room. I was assigned a ground-floor room overlooking the back of the property which was easily accessible to the parking lot. When I first entered the room, it was smaller than the pictures I saw online but I was encouraged by the updated counter space, built-in stovetop, microwave, and mini-fridge. Unfortunately, that positive impression didn't last long. As I looked around, I found that two of the drawers were dirty, and the bedside table holding the phone was extremely filthy. It was so dirty that I used my cell phone to call the front desk rather than touching the room phone. I wiped the surface with my fingers and immediately left two clean streaks through the dirt. This wasn't simple dust—it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, possibly months. At that point, I checked the beds for bed bugs because I felt I had to. Thankfully, I found no signs of them. However, the bed sheet itself had a rip on it and underneath the bed was unswept. I contacted Manpreet, who came to inspect the room and agreed to move us. We went next door to view another room, but as soon as I walked in, I noticed an open drawer that was also dirty. It appeared to have the same housekeeping issues. After waiting approximately 35 minutes without hearing back, I went to the front desk for an update. I was told that all the rooms were in similar condition. Management was contacted and offered to refund my $22 parking fee, which was "THE BEST THEY COULD DO" and was eventually reversed on my card. By then, my children were tired and restless, so I decided to stay in the original room and clean it myself.

It had a nice view at the lobby, and faced the escarpment. It was a reasonable value for staying two days and having a kitchenette in the room. It was very unclean, the room was poorly swept with crumbs and garbage found in the corners of the room and under the beds/furniture. The bedding smelled strongly of body odour, and the pillows also smelled of unwashed hair, as if someone had slept in the bed the night prior and the same sheets were used to remake the bed, these same pillows were also streaked with mystery smudges. When I asked for replacements for the bedding I found food crumbs and debris in between the sheets, so I stripped both beds and requested all new sheets for both beds including pillows. Unfortunately even the new clean sheets the front desk staff came back with were stained, some streaked with small reddish streaks I could not determine what they were. I took it upon myself to get some cleaning products at the dollar store to do a more in-depth clean with, and the cloths I used were dirty and brown stained by the time I was finished. To me this proves the room was not cleaned properly. The room itself did not feel fresh first walking into it, it felt dingy and smelled like a combination of food and uncirculated air. I requested to speak with a manager regarding the state of the room but was dodged for the entirety of my stay, in their defence I was offered to switch to another room, but after finally feeling comfortable and cleaning the room myself I was unwilling to switch to another room.

Convenient location Good breakfast Curtain rod at balcony door was broken and no one was available to fix during our stay, even after complaining to the main desk. No soap in bathroom The posted "queen " bed is smaller than posted. The outlet for coffee machine is not operable

The room and the bed was comfortable.. The breakfast it will be nice to change up sometimes. The room was very dusty and was smelling like pets in the corner of the first bed.The bathtub and sink water kept fulling up it needs cleaning. Rm #207.I asked to change Rm #212 it was smelling very smokey.

The room was nice, comfortable and clean! It was in safe, quaint and quiet area! The kitchen and balcony was a plus! The housekeeper and the young lady that worked in the breakfast dining hall were awesome, caring and most accommodating!!!! Also, great parking available! The train station is only 5 minutes away from the train station! The bus to the falls runs near hotel one block wawy! They also utilize Lyft and tacos. Also, I found a super Walmart! Lol! I had a fabulous 67th birthday! Thank you so much River Rapids Inn!!!??♥️??? # 1 In the living room was a sofa that had a broken arm footrest, I was asked if I broke it! No, I did not! It was like that when I initially walked into the room! So my question is, why didn't the room get inspected with the last guest who reserved this room? Why weren't they asked about the broken arm rest? ??? # 2 When I initially booked the room I had asked for a first floor room and was told it would be available since I explained about my back surgery and no elevator being available; that is not what was given to me upon my arrival!!!??????? I'm a disabled senior citizen who was celebrating my 67th birthday. Other than these two incidents, I was very happy for those 10 days!????

Beforehand I read the mixed reviews, but I had a very positive experience staying at River Rapids Inn. Their staff were pleasant and easy to get along with, accommodating my bicycle with an exit-floor room. The room itself was large and very clean and neat, even with a mini kitchen which looked quite new. It felt a bit like a studio apartment. Pod coffee machine and some supplied pods/drink sachets was convenient. Quiet building in good condition. Breakfast service had a variety of hot and cold options. Clean soft linens. Coin laundry available and room keeping came by what seemed daily. Situated on the road along the river it was a peaceful area not too far from downtown. Excellent value particularly compared to downtown alternatives. Nothing! :)

Staff is really friendly and room is clean and acceptable.

The room was vlean, it felt homely and my children love the feeling....the pool was enjoyable and clean.....
- 4/5
Nice, clean place to stay. But: paid parking, low quality breakfast
- 5/5
The breakfast menu, is the microwaved eggs... that's my only complaint, way over cooked. Everything else is good.
- 5/5

Très mauvais services à la réception, aucune accommodation possible , stationnement non inclus déjeuner à partir de 7 heure seulement, chambre au 4eme pas d’assez eue, aucun resto aux alentours seul bon point chambre propre
- 4/5
Place was clean and acceptable what annoyed me was paying for parking considering the lot was half empty
- 2/5
This hotel is fine for a night but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The room was clean but old. The beds are ok but not the most comfy. The road noise was loud since the room faced the street. The sound proofing between rooms not great. The breakfast was typical, nothing special. $20 for parking is a money grab and essentially increases the overall rate. Recommendation: stay somewhere else.
- 4/5
The room was clean, friendly staff. Breakfast was really good.

- 2/5
My experience of staying the hotel was not good.
- 5/5
We were bringing our bikes to cycle the Niagara river trail. We had a room on the main floor and were able to bring easily our bikes in our room. The staff gave us a free parking ticket to drive closer to the falls, which was very appreciated. Shopping and restaurant at MapleLeaf Place, 2 minutes walk. Free Breakfast was very good and a big dining area.
- 4/5
Nice renovation.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great and overall everything was fine. The refrigerator in the room was a bit noisy and the interior felt a little dated. We also missed having slippers provided. Still, overall we can recommend this place.
- 4/5
The only thing we didn’t like was no elevator.4 floors up and down multiple times a day was not fun. Honestly that’s our only complaint.. would stay there again but would ask for a room on the first floor.
- 5/5
The room is clean , staff so nice. The breakfast is good

It was a. Great stay.
- 1/5
I didn’t like anything the room is small the toilet is shaking, too much noisy when anyone upstairs use the bathroom I hear like in my room but in front desk there are so nice and respectful.
- 5/5
Overall nice people, lovely staff, very quiet area. Breakfast was great, and had many options. I would recommend a stay here again.
- 5/5
Great accommodations. Very clean rooms and the breakfast was good.
- 1/5
Dirty shower with hair on the wall. Front desk says incredibly rude. Do not stay! Save your money and stay somewhere else!!!
- 5/5
- The breakfast staff on duty was exceptional in keeping the breakfast area tidy and well stocked at all time never running out no matter what time you arrived.
- 5/5
No issues at all, convenient location and amenities. Very comfortable and a quick bus ride to all of the attractions
- 4/5
I really liked the location. Not far from all of the Niagara Parks attractions, but away from the congestion and not up the hill. We both use walkers and could get to our room without a problem. The only problem was having to use a few stairs to get to the registration desk, but we would stay there again.
- 5/5
The warm, welcoming vibe from the friendly staff truly makes a difference, and having breakfast included is just the cherry on top! What a delightful way to start the day!
- 2/5
Not clean, missing basic accomodation in the room such as a robe or iron
- 2/5
There were hairs in the bed....our drain in the bathub wasnt draining...we requested a better room on the second night...wasnt any better...there was mold in the corner of the shower....from the outside the building looked abandoned....breakfast was ok but there could have been more seatings to accommodate all the guests....the staff was amazing though ..they tried their best to accommodate us.
- 3/5
There is no green space on property or outdoor seating available. Not enough seating in breakfast area and you are not permitted to take food to room to consume even though you have a table and chairs in the room. Very odd. The room was fine.
- 2/5
- 4/5
The bed was comfortable and the area around it was very walkable.
- 3/5
Overall it was okay for the money spent. The room was clean but there was trash on the balcony and it was never cleaned. Regular breakfast, nothing special but acceptable for few nights. I think more chairs needed in the breakfast area-on the second day there were people waiting, looks like the hotel was booked completely but not expected many people for breakfast. Maybe need to expand breakfast time to 10 instead of 9, just to spread people out.
- 5/5
Very good
- 3/5
Room was quiet clean..but the hotel shouldnt be charging for extra person(we were 3) when the room is equiped with 2 queen beds..as it can easily accomodate 4 person with 2 queen beds..also the room didnt have enough electric outlets, there were only 2 outlets and that too in the kitchen area, while most properties are equipped with electric outlets by bedside and close to dining area, washroom didnt have enough hooks or towel bars, moreover the property didnt have water cooler/ice making machine.they provided with decent complementary breakfast and the area is safe and quiet.
- 4/5
It was a good place but signage for pool (which we couldn’t find) and breakfast could have been a lot better.
- 2/5
They were dark hairs in our bathtub, and there were no towels to shower with
- 5/5
It’s super close to we go stops north and south. I we will be staying again.
- 2/5
Not worth the stay. Save your money and go elsewhere. The place is super run down and by the looks of the property the owners don’t care. I wouldn’t go so far to say it was outright dirty…. but definitely wouldn’t say it was clean. Found the beds uncomfortable, the plumbing and A/C were loud and they didn’t even have enough towels to go around. Seriously. Travelled with family and we had 2 towels in the room. Asked for more and they didn’t have any. There were no towels for the pool even. Which I wouldn’t recommend going in anyway because the pool area is poorly lit, smells musty … and well no towels. Oh and we had a coffee machine in the room….but no cups. None. There was a nasty stain on the ceiling that looks like maybe water damage. Found cobwebs and dust. I am stunned that anyone gave this place a five star. Like absolutely stunned.
- 4/5
It’s not so bad, with the price tag
- 1/5
No body is coming to do a service or to change the bed.
- 5/5
cerca de las atracciones principales de niagara parks y exelente ubicacion
- 3/5
The room layout was awkward—only one bedside table was actually beside the bed, and the drawer wouldn’t stay closed, which was frustrating. All the wall plugs were on the opposite side of the room, so if you need to plug something in beside the bed, you’re out of luck. Overall, the space didn’t feel very welcoming or thoughtfully arranged.
- 4/5
Everything was good but expensive for that price
- 3/5
Room was clean. Common areas, hallway, exterior were not.
- 2/5
The food options were good for breakfast only the bad comfort was in bed
- 5/5
It was a good experience. We loved staying in RR In. We enjoyed the pool. The hotel is not far from the attractions. And the stuff are friendly.
- 3/5
The disadvantages were as the follows: 1-I reserved a room with a king size bed but the room I received was with a queen bed. 2-The room service was very bad, they did not refill the coffee and the bath staff in the second day of our stay. 3-The telephone of the room was not working!
- 4/5
It was a nice stay and overall good experience in Niagara.
- 3/5
Plastic plate in the hotel room, noisy bathroom door,no hangers and no closet in the room.
- 5/5
Thank god for the air conditioning during our visit,m; we really needed it. And, breakfast- what can we say? It had variety, hot food as well as cold and lots of gluten free options. The room was large and clean. We were happy with it.
- 3/5
Ratings were high but the staff was hardly ever at the front desk, our stove top in our kitchen did not work and you have to pay for parking ($20/day) on top of what you’re already paying. It’s very old and run down. I guess you get what you pay for.
- 3/5
When we arrived the room had not been cleaned. The front desk person got us into another room quickly. The hotel is dated but bedding and mattresses were clean and comfortable. The outside area needs cleaning as there was cigarette butts and other garbage on the ground. The breakfast had lots to choose from and was decent. Staff was kind and helpful.
- 4/5
Perfectly acceptable hotel with clean room and great breakfast.

Liked that breakfast was included and a nice pool. Our room was nice but there was a rather large cobweb in the corner of our bathroom. Friendly staff upon checking in and out. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Great staff and 1 min proximity to whirlpool attractions. 5-10 min drive to Clifton hill. Spacious room with mini kitchen. Included breakfast was good. Pool was good. Site is in continuous improvement since previousvisit. Sauna controls need to be fixed.
- 5/5
So good and the pool too is okay.
- 4/5
Hôtel was good couch in room very uncomfortable bed was good air worked great breakfast was very nice coffee very good and hot.
- 1/5
If you have the money, go somewhere else.
- 2/5
I will start with the positives . The staff were helpful when we had to change rooms due to my husband hurting his ankle and he could not use the stairs. The hotel is close to the Wego bus line and attractions. Now the negatives. The hotel had a bad smell to it. The pool was gross. It had stuff floating in it and it smelt really bad. It needed cleaned and shocked bad. There are also no washrooms near the pool, so if you did use it, you have to go back to your room. The rooms did not get cleaned or clean sheets when I put my clean room tag of my door. They just took out the trash and that was it. When i needed towels, I had to walk to the desk to get them. The breakfast was not very good and the area you sit in is not big at all. They have a big area were they could put more seating , but instead the keep equipment and other items there. If you dont get to breakfast early you will not get a seat. They will not allow you to take breakfast out of the room, even if there is no room to sit. They make you throw it away before you exit. Breakfast ends at 9 am sharp. The breakfast had same thing evey day. Scrambled liquid eggs, patty hashbrown, sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, toast, bagel, waffle station. It was ok, the sausage was over cooked. The grounds of the hotel had trash around it. The stove top in the room will not work unless you bring a metal pan that a magnetic will stick to. They don't tell you that. Bottom line if you are on a tight budget it will work, otherwise do not go.
- 3/5
Good to stay but they charge for parking I don’t like that
- 1/5
Our room was "upgraded" on arrival to what they call a "suite" on the 4th floor, and there are no elevators. The entire 4th floor, including our room, stank of decades of greasy cooking. There were dead flies in the room and the cheap thin flooring was cracked and pulling up. The AC unit in our room did not work properly - it thought the room was 93F, so it ran constantly no matter the setting. The only options were to turn it off and wake up soaked in sweat or leave it on and freeze. The included breakfast was decent, and parts of that area had been renovated. The pool area was run-down, but the pool itself looked reasonably clean, and the sauna was functional. The hotel staff were polite. So why did I give it 2 stars and not 1? The main reason is price. I have no idea how this got a 7.6 rating on this site, but if you know what you're getting into and price is your driving factor, then you may be satisfied here.
- 4/5
It was one night but you can tell the renovations weren't good. You can tell Cover ups in bathroom and walls was cheap
- 3/5
Service was nice.
- 5/5
The studio is comfy and you can have what you need in the kitchen but the treat was the swimming pool and the sauna.
- 5/5
Very clean add looks like room was renovated recently. Breakfast was great
- 4/5
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The location is excellent, making it easy to access local attractions and amenities. The hotel itself is a lovely place to relax and unwind, with a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others.
- 3/5
Very little water pressure couldnt really take a show.Neighbors were loud when walking above us.
- 4/5
Should indicate parking fees on expedia
- 5/5
Stayed here multiple times. Fantastic as always.
- 4/5
Everything was good. Just wish the pillows were thicker.
- 2/5
This property is very run down, noisy and expensive. $20 to park at a motor inn? There are much better options for the price. The room was dirty with mismatched furniture and a bed that when you sat on the end of it, completely lifted off the frame at the headboard. My family was woken at 2:30am by what only can be described as a wrestling match in the room above us. Management seemed to not care much about the noise disturbance when we let them know.
- 5/5
The room was nice, clean, and updated. The staff was helpful & friendly. The pool was great & the breakfast served was good. I would definitely stay @ hotel again
- 5/5
Amazing stay, enjoyed my stay, I love the breakfast..
- 5/5
Buildings are nice and secure, needing your room key to get into the building. Room was very nice and was like a small studio apartment. Also offered a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options.
- 4/5
No rubber mat for inside the bathtub, quite slippery when showering.
- 1/5
I booked a room with king bed, upon arrival they gave me a queen bed.
- 1/5
The only good thing about this HOTEL! Is the kind stuff. Bathroom was really dirty, hire every corner was saying hello to me! Bathtub, bed, bath sink … The guy before me peed while he was standing and the yellow mark on the toilet was there when I get to the room!!! There were no any shampoo , soap just the toilet paper! Bath drain was really disgusting! Water mark with lots of hire around it! The garbage can in the kitchen was not emptied! Bed was tidy up but the long hair was on the blanket! Just the breakfast was acceptable by the price. There is a sign In the pool area says take hot water shower before entering the pool but the shower has just cold water. Do not recommend it at all. Your mind will change by staying just a night in this hotel,If you believe the clips of street food are fake. I am not talking about the breakfast but the hotel! OH you know what? I have diarrhea just 2 hours after checking out… stoped 5 times while I was driving from Niagara Falls to Newmarket!😐 Oh nooo what did I eat?!?!
- 4/5
Easy to find, 10 minutes or less from downtown attractions and the falls. Unfortunately you cannot see the river easily
- 2/5
This is an old, ugly and smelly place- needs to be demolished. There is also significant noise, showing poor noise insulation.
- 2/5
While there are some positives with the Inn, such as the location being within short driving distance for many attractions, there were several disappointing factors that outweigh the positive. We opted for the ‘exterior access only’ room which was very convenient for in/out between the room and our vehicle. The quality of the room was decent, nothing special, but typical for what you would expect with an older hotel. The beds were quite uncomfortable, very hard, and the pillows very terrible, flat and misshapen. The updated kitchenette with the full size fridge/freezer is a positive to note. The complimentary breakfast was decent (eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit). During breakfast on our first morning, the hydro went out and was out for a couple of hours. This limited what we were able to have for breakfast as well as inability to get ready for the day in our room. Assuming this was beyond their control, it was interesting that they don’t have a generator for their guests comfort if this were to happen. The pool was disappointing, it didn’t feel well maintained and certainly was not heated as mentioned in the booking information. There is no hot tub, this was filled in with dirt/sand with potted plants sitting on top. The “fitness center” is a couple pieces of gym equipment on the pool deck (not the most safe). On our last morning, when we went to go for breakf

Room 323 top of the stairs, gladly pay parking for that . Leaving the window open at night listening to mother nature roar . Pool and breakfast below . Thank you ..... quiet and private.
- 1/5
The staff was very nice to deal with, but they charge you to park in their parking lot of the hotel. You’re renting the room. The parking lot comes with the room they charge you extra for that.
- 4/5
I like the sizes of the rooms and they were clean but I needed to buy an air freshener for my room. My bathroom door didn't close because the door doesn't fit into the door jam properly. Beds were medium comfort but still good value for the price. Breakfast was included and it was "ok".
- 4/5
Across the street from the river. Nice walk and view
- 4/5
Great stay outside if the busy hustle and bustle that Clifton hill is!
- 4/5
Great position.... beautiful and clean room... Enjoyed breakfast
- 1/5
The place smelled strongly of body odor, felt unsafe, and I was concerned there might be bed bugs. The staff was unfriendly, and the check-in experience felt off. When I saw the condition of the room, I immediately complained, but they refused to offer a new room or a refund. I ended up leaving and booking another hotel at three times the price just to feel safe and clean. I would never recommend this place. Avoid at all costs.
- 4/5
Accommodation is very pleasant and nice, but my only excuses is the fee for parking
- 4/5
The property was very clean as well as the rooms; It was lovely having a fridge/freezer in the room. The kitchenette was a nice add-on however nothing could be used because there were no utensils, cooking equipment, etc.
- 2/5
The staff was very kind and helpful, the building and property was a little dingy, I guess it is aligned with the cost. Not sure.
- 3/5
Really basic, but ok for the price paid

Place was clean and it was a good location.

Good location. Can do better with services. Housekeeping was bad and the room had dust. Exterior parking is convenient and location make sit easy to access Niagara park attractions.

Motel was a bit old, but was very clean and the staff very friendly. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
The only downside i had to pay $20 for parking, but i would stay there again.
