The hotel needs renovations ASAP! All they did was fix the outside of the property (roof, painted lines and black top of lot)!!!

Glad only stayed one night. Pics are deceiving. Bed sheets had holes in them. Tears in the chairs. No night stands. Bathroom door had holes in them. Will not stay there again. Not the hotels fault on this but.. Had a disturbance that had 3 cop cars show up in the parking lot to calm down a irrate woman.

Room had been updated and everything worked plus hot water. Met my basic criteria of clean, safe, and good location. No lobby so one stood outside, rang bell, and waited until desk clerk came. Not a warm welcome, but he did patiently redo key card twice when I erased it when put in pocket with phone.

My room was very clean! The bathroom was sparkling ✨️ I had a non-smoking room & it didn't smell too bad at all..the cleaning lady was so nice-she even made sure I had all of my belongings before checking out. Didn't really like having to pay $10/hr after check out time; usually it's offered as a courtesy. But, I appreciate being able to sleep in a little bit longer.

My room was clean and it’s close by to a lot of attractions. I didn’t like that they tried to give me a smoking room when I booked nonsmoking, but mistakes happen and they were quick to fix it without issue.

This no frills motel was clean & extremely affordable. They didn't offer any of the luxe extras but it was very clean & the property well kept. It was everything we needed & enjoyed it immensely. Cheap rates & clean is all we needed. We definitely recommend staying here. The manager was really nice & friendly

I have stayed here several times. Seems to be a safe location. Some late night activities in parking lot, but not to much. Rooms always seem clean and pretty basic. This trip remote for tv was not functional. Dont expect any type quality towels, so thin you can see through them. I stay here for the price and location.

They don't offer breakfast I don't like the fact that they were over booked & decided to lie about things to cover their ass. We were told that we called up management in the middle of the night, yelling & cussing them out. NONE WAS TRUE! My boyfriend & I were passed out by 10pm (he wasn't feeling good & I just worked an all day shift) they refused to give me another night and locked me out of the room before check out time!!!! All this time, it was the room next to us being all loud & disturbing the quiet. Management even said they knocked on our door to "address the issue"....they did not. I am an extremely light sleeper when I'm not in my own bed....NOBODY knocked on our door, or I would of answered it completely sleepy & confused.

I have stayed in this Motel multiple times. It is decent for what I need. A place to sleep for a night. Room was clean, tv worked, heat and ac worked. This time some car pulled in at 4 am with music blasting, but shut down after about 15 minutes. Area seems safe, but not recommended by me for a family.

This was my second stay at the Newport News Inn and I had another good experience. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, takes a while sometimes at the front dest but service was good. Nothing fancy but great for the price and location near to the Hampton Coliseum. Will stay here again the next time I visit.

The owners not so much they had a constant attitude and did not even attempt to address my concerns (would call them complaints but i was chill even willing to handle them myself) Still got attitude from the lady and the man

Third time I have stayed here for business. Good location, seems safe. Owners seem to want to keep it a low end motel. Stayed in room 108 twice in my three stays there. Nice room, clean, everything was fine. Wouldn't recommend for a family stay. People in next room loud, slamming doors, banging on wall.

Very good for a short stay or overnight! Although the furniture was old it was kept clean and neat! They had new carpet and curtains in the room. No TV or internet problems. Near everything and convenient to get there!. Property was clean! Parking lot was just repainted . Only thing missing was a coffee pot!

The hotel seemed like the best choice compared to other hotels in the area. It was in a safe location and it was clean, but the sheets had significant stains on them. You would think they would have been thrown away looking this dirty.

If you care about a place that actually cares and gives you clean items and not dodge you all the time them this is the worst place to go in newport news. They say they allow service animals but they dont really want them there that catch attitudes and more when you bring your service animal, I would never visit this place ever again.

Typical hotel room, but it had a decent sized refrigerator and a small microwave. The room had a leather reclining chair in it which is a nice touch. Overall the room was very clean, and it appeared that in recent days the shower stall had been updated to have a new or updated surround, the fixtures are either incredibly new or incredibly clean. The sink area matched the new shower surround and also appeared relatively new. I felt comfortable enough to walk around in bare feet. Towels could be a bit better quality and are thin, but they got the job done. The cleaning staff was very present and eager to assist or help. About the only odd thing is the way that you interact with the hotel itself for questions / reservation changes. You stand outside and ring a bell and then someone will generally come to the window. However, it feels like they are keeping you at arms length for some reason. The parking lot is well lit, and you feel safe here. I had quite a bit of computer equipment in my van, and really did not worry about its safety. Other than the odd check in check out window the place is fine for a few nights as I was mostly working at a neaby office.

My wife and I stayed here for one night while visiting friends and we had no complaints at all. It is an older hotel but very clean, comfy bed, nice chairs and even a love seat. We would definitely stay here again if the need arises.

This is an affordable no frills hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was kind. I was not happy with the wi-fi coverage in the rooms. It was almost non existent. It was located in a central spot for visiting Newport. I’d stay again.

A great, clean room for the price. I was very pleased. The hotel is older and the rooms dated but everything was clean and smelled acceptable. Service was minimal but I wasn't there for the service. The bathroom was freshly remodeled and nice. Highly recommended if you are on a budget!

Very unprofessional! I booked online and the guy at the counter, took bout 35 minutes to get to me and I asked for a Queen Size Bed in a smoking room and got a King Non Smoking room. When I left to go out, I get a call saying they going to change out my room with another guest! 😡😡😡😡

Booked online, upon arrival I noticed there was no vacant parking. I asked the clerk if there would be a place for me to park my uhual as my friend was meeting me to trade vehicles. She volunteered to drive my uhual to the hotel since I had spent 11 hours on the road. The gentleman at the window told me the only place for me to park would be in the handicap space which was occupied by a new guest that had just arrived.... Before signing and initialing the paperwork I asked what I should do about parking, he replied with “That was the only spot and make sure you don’t take that dog in the room”. I assured him that it wasn’t my car or my pet and that I was only switching vehicles... then I questioned yet again where I could possibly park my moving truck, in which he replied “go ahead and cancel, call them and I’ll tell them so” I dont understand why they have vacant rooms but no parking to accommodate. I spoke with customer service and she refunded me then proceeded to tell me it was due to the animal that didn’t belong to me and that there was in fact parking available. I offered to go to the property to take photos for proof

Before signing and initialing the paperwork I asked what I should do about parking, he replied with “That was the only spot and make sure you don’t take that dog in the room”. I assured him that it wasn’t my car or my pet and that I was only switching vehicles... then I questioned yet again where I could possibly park my moving truck, in which he replied “go ahead and cancel, call them and I’ll tell them so” I dont understand why they have vacant rooms but no parking to accommodate. I spoke with customer service and she refunded me then proceeded to tell me it was due to the animal that didn’t belong to me and that there was in fact parking available. I offered to go to the property to take photos for proof

amazing and great ! clean room! quiet good nights sleep! comfy bed! friendly staff! the only thing i dont like is if u want to sleep during the day the staff wakes you up to knock on the door to ask you if you need anything so there is no way to sleep through the day even if you go to sleep after that knock a second one will come by if you dont answer the knock they just come in the room making it impossile to take an afternoon nap

With covid going on it's really clean as if it wasn't. I was able to meet the house keepers and I can tell and saw how they cleaned other rooms. I came with a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old my daughter is very particular with dirt or hair strands lol so if she saids it's clean it's clean :-) Because she won't sit on a toliet or nothing our of comfort of how we are home and we travel alot so she has a good view of different senarios

Good location. Stayed in a room with a King size bed, need 1 more pillow added to the bed and more towels.

No coffee or access to it. No kleenex. Nothing to direct you to nearby restaurants.

The police were there twice thru the night. There were cigarette burns and stuff was broken. I was surprised at how clean everything was though. I just didn't feel safe. My chain across the door was broken. I did sleep alright despite all of that.

Fine room and clean enough. No one was present at the office for a full half hour or more the morning after my stay with no phone number or message. It was like it was abandoned.

It's always clean and the staff is always friendly

Bed to hard, not enough pillows and ice machine not working. Room was clean.

The room was adequate. The manager was very helpful when the room key did not work. Stay was pleasant. Vending was not working. No ice!

Straight forward hotel, parking was a little tight. Otherwise great deal for the price.
