While the staff were wonderful (Miss Denise was fantastic) the room and building were less than expected. The bed was thin and uncomfortable. It felt more like sleeping on an old pull out couch. The room was on the 4th floor and the elevator was out of order with no indication of when/if it would be fixed. It never was the entire week we were there. For an extended stay style hotel there were no utensils, pots/pans, etc. additionally, we were provided with two towels and two washcloths (no hand towels) and had to clean them ourselves in the pay laundry. Worst of all, there was a permanent cloud of pot in the halls. It was so bad at times that it came into the room. We regularly opened the window to air out the room.

Even if you confirm late check-in through Orbitz, the office closes at 7:00 with this chain. It is close to lots of places to eat, cheap gas and the Warehouse clubs and places to shop. I was working, so I don't know about Sightseeing stuff.

I’m seeking a full refund for my reservation charges. I arrived to this location to check in February 4th at 6:45pm eastern time. The office was already closed and the after hours duty representative said he could not do anything with regard to checking me in. I was left stranded with no lodging and no alternative. Upon attempting to check in on February 5th and complete the remainder of my 10 day reservation (confirmed checkout on February 14th), the front desk representative stated that my reservation had been cancelled and there were no available rooms to honor my reservation. I was left stranded for a second night in a row with no alternative. This is completely unacceptable, as I was charged for two nights of a reservation that were not honored. This transaction and all associates credit card charges must be refunded immediately. Thank you. I can provide any supporting documentation if necessary. Original Expedia reservation confirmation and itinerary # was 7518728873369. This was for the 11 Old Oyster Point Extended Stay Newport News VA I-64 property.

I stayed at Inn Towne Suites for 11 days. A maid came in one time out of eleven days. I never received any toilet paper for my entire stay, and had to purchase my own. My key card did not work on the weekends. The front desk hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm. Additionally, the night manager attempted to enter my room at 2 am on the day I was to check out. I can't even begin to explain that!

I will never stay here again. The room was equipped with a partial kitchen with no pans, pots, plates or utensils. The gym had no equipment and they came to clean the room the day before the checked out. I was told I could have only one wash cloth and towel and had to bring the dirty one to the front desk in order to get a fresh one. I had to take out my own trash and the list goes on and on. I requested a refund but denied, so I'm writing to the corporate office. Please don't stay here, you will be very disappointed and angry when you leave. WARNING!!!

disappointed in the "complete kitchen" as advertised. It did have all the appliances, but no dishes, pot and pans, silverware, etc. Luckily we arrived late and didn't go to the grocery store right away. I would have been totally mad if I had bought food and had no way of cooking it. Was surprised that the motel was closed on Sundays. Room was smaller then it looked in the pictures, but it was okay for a couple of nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Surprised that I could not get into the motel after hours. First door opened but the second door would not open until somebody from the inside stood in front of it. Can't say I would recommend this hotel

Room was not clean I booked it because it had a kitchen, when I got there there was no pots or pans I went to the front desk and they said it's an extended stay they don't provide dishes or anything ( I don't travel with many pots and pans) shower was gross and the ceiling in the bathroom had mold all over it, and the hotel was under renovation so everything was dirty and paint and supplies everywhere, we were not informed of this. Not recomended to anyone it was terrible we left early cause it felt so dirty.

Worst stay in my life. Place was filthy, three of four light switches didn't work, people partying all night long in the hallway, many cigarette burns in the carpet. Elevator was dirty with rubbish on the floor. Bed comforters were filthy and had a bad smell. Couldn't wait to leave. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in in the US.

If you like bugs in the room it's great for you, if you like not having toilet paper when you first check in it's a selling point is your weave missing a chunk? Think I found it on the "clean" shower towels! Not to mention when I reserved the room it was $30 cheaper than when I actually got there. Never again I'll sleep in my car before I stay there again

I was very wary about staying at this hotel. I generally have a select few places in the Hampton Roads area I like to stay, so a new place like Crestwood gave me doubts. But upon checking in and seeing the room, I was pleasantly surprised, great size, king size bed, HD television, and a stove. Although, the do not provide utensils, so if you are going to stay for an extended period, bring your own or you will have to purchase your own. Overall, for the price I paid, this place was a really good place and it's proximity to shopping, restaurants, etc... was excellent.

I have stayed at Crestwood Suites of Newport News, VA many times. An extended stay works well for me. I would have given it 5 stars.. But to my dismay I arrived Town Suites had taken over Crestwood. As I walked into the lobby there was a sign stating that the lobby would close at 11:00 p.m. Then there was another sign stating that the lobby is not open on Sunday. ??? I went to my room only to find it bare. There were no essential utensils in the kitchen. I ended up going to Walmart so that I could fix a meal in my room. The next day a housekeeper was working on my floor and I took a bath mat to replace with a clean one. The housekeeper told me she was not allowed to do that. ??? There too many other things to mention, but I think you get my point. Crestwood offered everything a guest might need.

Where do i start, front desk gave us the wrong key, a drunk man came to the door after our numerous attempts to use our key, luckily he was not upset. Front desk apologized but we were not comfortable with what happened especially with my children with us.The hallways smelled like hampster and fecal matter. The noise from people upstairs and on our floor walking back and forth in the hallway and doors closing all night was horrible ( kept us up all night). The beds were not comfortable. However what was appreciated... the room was clean and smelled nice. The water was nice and hot.

Even their customer service line didn't lead to speaking to someone and couldn't leave a message because the mailbox was full.

My stay was brief but the customer service was outstanding. When I checked in they were training a young lady, but they were very nice. When I awoke to take a shower the water was cold. They end up refunding my money for the night and gave me the next night for half price. Nice!!

Price for 2 nights was reasonable but you pay for what you get. Kitchenette with no cooking utensils, room clean but very worn; front desk gave me a key for a room on the 1st floor that was disgusting, went back and was told that they mistakenly assigned me to a room that's not being rented right now bc there's a leak from the room above it which explains why it smelled so bad. I asked for a 1st floor room when I made my reservation more than a week in advance bc I have young children that do a lot of horse play and ended up with a room on the 3rd floor and security knocked on my door and said the the people below us had called and complained.

I did like the fact that there was a laundry room in site and that the room had a full refrigerator and stove to cook with. This hotel has great potential. The GM apologized to us and informed us of the future changes because another company was buying the hotel.

I stayed here some years ago and I must say it has certainly plummeted in quality. Upon entering the elevator, it was filthy and trash was all over the floor. When we got to the floor and the elevator doors opened, it smelled as if it were a totally unkept ward at a hospice facility. It reeked of bad body odors, what seemed like the smell of elderly feces, and some dollar store brand cleaning aid attempt to cover it all up. We entered the room and inspected it. There were water bottles under the bed, the tub appeared dirty and the place was simply beat up. My significant other went to flip the slight switch and THREE BUGS CRAWLED OUT FROM BEHIND THE SWITCH PLATE ON THE WALL! I have never had such a poor experience in a hotel room. EVER! We were scared to lay in the bed and I simply REFUSED to walk barefoot in there. We did inspect the mattresses thoroughly and after covering ourselves in clothes and the pillow with our own belongings (because I didn't want to put my face on it) - we managed a few hours rest before checking out in the morning. The staff was very pleasant . . . but the place was just a dump.

We didn't complain because we checked in about 12:00 am. (Room 422) We were tired, need to take rest. The iron in the room didn't work. We couldn't iron anything. I liked the staff. They were nice and recommended me the good beach restaurant.

Me and my two kids stayed here while playing in a aau tournament and it was awful. My room smelled horrible and my son found a bug while showering. The front desk never answered the phone. Seemed like a neighborhood place to stay. Guess you get what you pay for. I checked out the next day needless to say.

I don't know if the good reviews for this dump are very old, or what??? What's wrong: our trash was not emptied once in four days, we did not get clean towels in four days (were told on checkout that we just had to come to the desk and ask for them, lot of good it did then), the carpet on the second floor hall was not vacuumed in the four days we were there, our floor was not vacuumed in the four days we were there, the light in the bath was bare bulbs (no cover/fixture), the room smelled like a gym, the filters on the AC unit were filthy (loaded with dust), people smoked right outside the front door (in spite of a sign posted in big letters and on one of the overhang post about not smoking within 100 feet of the door. The desk help said that the hotel had just changed ownership and they were trying to get on top of the problems: until they do, Expedia should take them out of their listings for Newport News.

Very nice staff but when it came to how the room ACTUALLY looked and how it was "described on line" was a total lie. It's no longer called the crest wood suites it's now called in town suites PLUS. Me and my boyfriend traveled 12 hours to visit family and we only stayed here because it said it had a kitchenette with pots and pans and dishware. Lies ! We had to spend our OWN money on dishware so they food we previously purchased would not go to waste. This hotel is NOT what they said it was

I also had no phone for the entire visit. I spoke to the front desk after the 1st night but they did not fix it. The guy at the desk said he couldn't get the cord out from under the box spring( I had tried as well) but he did not bother to enlist help so that I could have a phone. I had to use my cell phone for all my local calls which is a waste of minutes. I also wasn't given a new coffee pack for my second day and night which I was looking forward to.

when I first checked in I was given a key and went to my room, there was apparently someone already in there as the bed was un made and trash all over the place and the door was actually proped open with the lock. So I went back down and got a different room key. This room was better but definitly not cleaned right.there was 3 squares of toilet paper left on the roll in the bath room and no new roll to be found. then there were no sheets for the pull out bed so went downstairs and got sheets but only had king sheets. then the pull out bed was covered in stains on all sides of the pillows and the bed itself was caving in so ended up sleeping on the couch with a cover over it. the neighborhood wasnt bad but had alot of people hanging out infront after midnight and was like that til about 230am. i know because my 2nd floor room was right above the entrance and could hear pretty much everything.

This hotel did not meet the standards of any hotel that I have been a guest. The beds were not comfortable nor were the bed linens adequate (200 thread if that). The comfortor was only half of the entire bed. The floors were sticky and we had to repeatedly request toilet paper, soap etc. There is no room service available and when requesting something from the staff, some actually were not too customer friendly! Too its credit, a microwave and refrigerator are available in the room, as many 'extended stay' properties do. Although the exterior building has an overall appeal, this is a bare-bones establishment and does not cater to the customer. Book at your own risk!

My wife and I came in from Fort Bragg, NC, to spend the July 4th weekend in Newport News, VA. We spent two nights at the price of $65/night (usually goes for $55/night) because it was a holiday weekend. Location is close to town and many other sightseeing places. We made a trip to water country in Williamsburg and an another to King's Dominion from this hotel. Welcome service was impressive. They let us check in early enough since we came from out of town. We had a non-smoking queen bed room. The queen bed was small compared to a standard queen bed. The room had a little bit of a smell which my wife and I neutralized with air freshener that we brought with us. Supplies in the room was meant for one guest. If you came along with a 2nd guest you had to go get more from the front desk. We ran out of toilet paper and we had to go to the front desk to get another one which shouldn't happen at all! We didn't have room service the next day which I don't understand why. We came back to a full trash can and a non-made bed. Overall experience at this hotel is fair.

I couldn't stop laughing from the moment I walked into the room. I expected it to be a little more welcoming but for the price I really can't complain but so much. It smelled like it hadn't been occupied in a while and the pillows were like sheets of paper and the blanket was a napkin. Nothing to it. The TV was super nice though. The refrigerator was really clean. It was "clean" overall just not comforting. It served its purpose though. A place to sleep and get ready for the next day. I was there on business so it did its job for me but I'd never go back.

We were lucky, we got a room on a sold out day. The hotel was very busy, but the staff took time to help check me in and were very courteous. The room was a non smoking room, but it smelled like smoke. The room was very clean and functional. Since the hotel was sold out on rooms, we were not able to get an extra blanket, but we made do with the bed spread. This hotel is located right off of 64 in a nice area of Newport News. It felt safe for my family. The room had a small kitchenette, and a pull out sofa bed; which was very nice and came in handy for my daughter to sleep on.

The room was just very outdated. It needed a new carpet, pillows were soooo uncomfortable, they only have housekeeping after you check out, you have to exchange towels to get a new one, and the room appearance needed some serious new decor. Sofa cough look soooo used and two different styles of chairs.

I stayed in this hotel years ago when it was just a month old. It was very nice. New is always nice, isn't it? Now it's not so new, and it's been converted from a Sleep or Comfort Inn to a Crestwood Suites. It's undergoing yet another change as it's being re-branded as an InTown Suites. I arrived on a Saturday & left on Wednesday. I only showered and slept here. I was in town for a funeral and there was a lot of family time to be had, so I took advantage of that. The times that I was at the hotel seemed to be very quiet, no loud guests. There were quiet a few children that I saw at various times but I never had any issues with anyone running in the halls or playing on the elevator. My suite had a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave & sink. The room featured a queen bed, dresser, nightstand, sofa and table with one chair. Wifi was available and seemed reasonably stable. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The shower worked well with hot water being available quickly. Overall, nothing really wrong. It wasn't the cleanest. The hallway had not been vacuumed for the time I was there, I know this because of the candy that was spilled in the hall near a room door. Housekeeping didn't come in. I was totally fine with that. I didn't bother to ask about housekeeping. Suite hotels & extended stays often have different schedules for housekeeping than regular hotels do.The parking lot was clean, although at 1 a.m. when I was arriving, it seemed a bit dark and under lit.

The front desk clerk was awesome but that was the only good thing at this hotel. The hotel was very dirty and the room was worse. After asking to switch rooms becuase the one they gave us had full trash cans...we noticed the second one was not much better. There was stuff stuck to the mirrors, stove tops etc and no dishes or cookware when the room had a kitchenette. I will never stay here or recommend for his hotel to anyone!

The hallways smelled like garbage. The sheets Had corners stitched into them which made it hard to cover up and the neighbors were loud and awake in the middle of the night.

No plastic cups in bath or kitchen. Only one chair for breakfast table in room. 36" door swings in to bathroom leaving little room to enter or exit, just misses the toilet. Lee McFarland

We were only staying for a night and got there really late and had to leave really early. We considered making food in our room to save time but there is not a way to make toast and there are no stores near by to purchase from. The hotel is easy to get to from the freeway so that was good. The layout of the room is good except the bathroom door is oversized due to room design so it was a little hard to get closed and open. Also, the toilet was apparently known to be malfunctioning. It required jiggling to get it to seal after flushing. I had to open the water valve to get the tank to fill. Also, the main lighting is a large exposed bulb fluorescent fixture more suitable to a warehouse than a $100 plus a night hotel. The bed itself was very comfortable but there was only one pillow for each of us and they were fat and firm so my wife didn't get a good nights sleep. It was so late and the desk had closed before we realized the problem.

It was pretty clean (the couch was very stained)--didn't sit on it. Not fancy but did the trick in a pinch.

The overall hotel stay was fair. My family and I had to make several adjustments in our expectations. Hotel room needed an overhaul when it comes to cleanliness and odors. The hallway also needs air freshener. As a customer I should not have had to lower my expectations!!!!

the power went out in the hotel. And when we were leaving the staff had to help us pry open the doors. They were all sitting in the lobby but complained about getting up to let us out. We were missing towels in the room and it smelled like smoke in the nonsmoking hotel. This hotel was got at a discount and we got what we paid for.

Me and my niece booked this room last minute due to the unfortunate problem of a water pipe busting in our home. We figured that since it was near and at the entry of the City Center that it would be good actuality. We were wrong!! The room wasn't very clean, the bathroom door looked like there was something spilled on it and was never clean, there was hair on the back of the bathroom door as well as the pillows. There were no coffee cups for the coffee in the room, the wake up call option didn't even work. Then when we went to cancel our 2nd night we were told we had to do it through Hotel.com once I called them they said they had to get the approval from the hotel management coincidentally he was not in. When I went to call today to speak with him again he was not there and wont be in until tomorrow.

The hotel had people hanging out in the lobby. Apparently it is an extended stay. The families there were transient. The stairwell smelled of smoke and cigarette buts were on the floor. The room smelled of smoke though I stayed in a no smoking room. Just made you feel creepy. Not worth paying a cheap price.

Room heating and AC unit is apparently controlled by management and not the occupant; I started complaining about the heater my 1st night and the morning I left (4 days later) I got up to a room that was in the 60s. I could set the heat setting at 85 with high heat and the room was more like upper 60s to 70 and I was comfortable wearing a flannel shirt; flannel comes off when the room is about 73. The elevator works but is filthy. Looks like it has not been cleaned since the hotel opened. Halls the rooms are off might be cleaned once a week. WIFI might be free but does not work when it is snowing or during inclement weather. needed to get tot he internet while it was snowing and was told by the hotel's tech support that the WIFI goes out when it is raining or, in this case, snowing. Dishes provided in the kitchenette were so dirty I had to wash them before I felt comfortable using them. No flatware was provided for eating or cooking. The room had a two burner stove for which the occupant is provided one 10 inch fry pan. The full size fridge was nice but set to cold.

The hotel lobby was extremely small. No more than the clerk's desk and a couch. The elevator looked old and not as clean as it should be. The room was large with a kitchen. The kitchen table was wobbly and there was only one chair for it. Tne neighborhood was okay/slightly iffy. If you wanted to stay near CNU, as I did, there are many more choices that are closer to the university, which didn't show up in my search of hotel.com.

For a place to stay for the night, it is worth the price. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. The non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes. Some trash under the bed. No plastic drinking cups. Wpuld not stay here again.
