Worst place ever

Holes in the bathroom door. Burn marks in the blankets. Stained towels. Broken beds. Honestly I can’t believe this place is on Hotels.com

Worst hotel we ever saw. Dirty, unsafe, old , smelly. We did not stay the night. Got another room at another hotel.

On top of that, the carpet was ripped and worn out, and even the peephole on the door was broken, which raised serious safety and security concerns. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend staying here.

Completely unsafe- grown men were drinking and smoking crack in the hallway and stairwell. One man was passed out from drugs and I had to walk around him to get to the stairs. Several men were under the influence of something and fighting with weapons.

My comments. There was no toilet tisue in the room. Entire room 201 was filthy definely not clean. No coffee as stated. Really disappointed.

-Room felt like a prison cell, -Dark, smelled like a HS locker room -stained bath towels that felt like samdpaper -bugs in bathroom -base molding falling off the wall in bathroom -stains and mold on shower curtain -entry door open and TV on upon Entering room -ground floor window found partially open and unlocked upon entry -tv remote batteries kept falling out due to missing cover -carpet on floor smelled bad and sticky -king bed but 2 pillows were very small -bed covering was very thin and not comfortable -walls were paper thin and could Hear noise from all surrounding rooms -loud people in hallways making noise and pounding on doors all nite

It was horrible. We was the last room next to an outside door that slammed closed ALL NIGHT LONG EVERY 3 TO 4 MINUTES. And the toilet ran all night long. Finally at 4am I stop trying to sleep and left.

The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff was professional and courteous.

First room the bedspread was stained and had red streaks on them and the carpet was disgusting. Requested and was moved to a different room that had no safety latch on inside of room. and which also had stains on bedspread , towels were dingy,stained and looked used. Will not be going back and would never reccomend this hotel.

The whole one night was a nightmare. The first room was horrible. The fridge was filthy the TV was on the floor. The second room was tolerable. But I checked out early and went to another place. I wish I would've known.

The rooms are filty. There were no amenities. No elevator. This place promotes false advertisement. This place should be condemned. It is not fit for humans to sleep there. I will never stay there again.

So check this. It's not the Rits nor is it a roach infested hole. It's well maintained with a staff that pleasant to work with. Pricing for a room is excellent. Hot water on demand with a comfortable bed and a clean room with most stores within walking distance. I can name 10 others that are full of bugs that want to charge twice as much as these folks. I would stay here at City Center everyday over a dozen others at the Ocean front and other places that I have stayed in the past year.

The location The remote to the tv did not work. There were no wash clothes, trash can/bag no ash tray in a smoking room no ice bucket etc

The only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have an elevator. Only because I normally stay on the top floor so that I don’t have rude people stomping and making noise above me. But considering that I was on the first floor, I heard no noise.

Nothing really, the size of the room was ok. The cleanliness of the entire property inside and out was horrific drug attics sitting inside on the stairs while people pass by is awful stains were on all the pillow cases some even look like dried blood as shown in picture below

The experience was horrific. We arrived at 530 pm, checked in to a very dingy, dirty lobby. We walked to our room, passed very questionable guest and were scared for our wellbeing. The room was gritty at best. Bed had pillows I wouldn’t let me dog sleep on and a blanket with burn holes and stains. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and grabbed our belongings and left in fear. We did not feel safe at all. Worst hotel experience of my life.

Microwave had no plate, no trash can in room, dirty hallways, burnt and discolored quilts, bathroom could’ve been cleaner and had more towels.

I like the staff for the most part their friendly and very helpful. I didn't like how my toilet wasn't flushing and they could do better when it comes to clean their rooms after guests leave. Otherwise it's a nice place to be

The entire room felt uncomfortable, there were not much lighting , a lot of things were not working, and stuff was coming out the walls, towels in the room were dirty , I even ask for new ones . The room was not properly clean. Even under the bed , there were trash left from I guest previous guests. The curtains in the bathroom was very dirty and I had to ask for toilet paper because the one left in the bathroom was a rest from the previous guest . Worst experiences and that was my first time in the area .

It was horrible. Hotel is disgusting. Doesn’t have elevator. Linen looks filthy. If you’re homeless, it’s somewhere to sleep indoors. Other than that, I would never spend money to stay there again.

The motel was bland, no soap, no trash can, no wash cloths, bathroom door was kicked in at the bottom. No one answered the office phone even though the front desk staff person was sitting in the lobby. Did not feel safe and welcoming.

This hotel from OUTSIDE seems nice. Once you walk it smells terrible. You have drug addicts sitting on steps and walking through hall way. Linens in room ie towels that supposed to be clean with hairs in fabric. The sheets with stains. Very nasty…. Housekeeping staff coming to room in night gowns to bring supplies (unprofessional). Television in room doesn’t work. Front desk staff doesn’t know how to handle complaints nor begin to resolve them. He was very unprofessional as well. This place need to be shut down. I don’t recommend this place for no breathing person or animal to stay. A death trap….,

Decent and overpriced

Abosolutey horrible. I do not recommend. The rooms look nothing like they do in the pictures. Tv didn’t work, hair all over the bathroom floor, water bottle on the bathroom floor, door didn’t lock.

This hotel more so motel is a crack house.. it's addicts in and out a homeless village in the woods on the property. The third floor is absolutely disgusting young men and women smoking drugs and partying in the hall way.. fights between prostitutes and pimps on the second floor we literally sat up all night listening to drama unfold. We were given blood stained dirty towels and wash clothes it was by far the most disgusting and waste of money ever. Avoid this property the city police needs to shut it down

Hotel smelled like marijuana The person at the front desk you did not acknowledge me. Cut his head down through the window and never picked it up. I waited for two minutes before I left due to the smell of the marijuana.

The hotel lobby consistently smelled of vaping/marijuana. The room A/C left it very humid and the overall condition was disappointing. I asked for new towels, they gave a disgustingly stained one for the floor and when I placed the used towels outside my room as I told them I would do they left them there and added more which stayed there for over 24 hours.

This hotel is terrible. I didn’t even stay there. Checked in and got my room and as soon as i inspected my room within 10 minutes me and my guest were gone. There were burnt holes in the sheets, broken toilet, roaches, pee stains on the bed in my room. It’s a smoke free building but people smoking in the halls and has the rooms smelling like cigarettes. They changed the beddings once I left. After leaving I went back to make sure I didn’t forget anything that I might’ve brought into the room. The pictures are very deceiving, the rooms look nothing like the pictures. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL !!!

Absolutely do not stay here! False advertisement for this place is an overstatement. There were drug deals in the parking lot with people actively using hard drugs and overly inebriated in the hallways.

I needed a place to just have a .ental health weekend without breaking my pockets. Well this was definitely the wrong place to go. People run ing in out the door all hours of the night, yelling up the hall, Good thing i always take my own toweks cuz there's was definitely dingy. Bed topper was dingy looking. Bathroom had water damage coming from the ceiling and paint was coming off showing a horrible sight. Needless to say i ended up going home to shower. Now i see why they have a no refunds policy. I actually left early cuz i couldn't take it any longer. Couldn't study my bible and it smelled horrid.

Police officers regularly in the hallways, broken mattresses and other furniture stacked in the hallways, and the moment the folks upstairs used the shower, it came cascading down through the ceiling into my bathroom, sparking the first major salmon migration into Newport News in over a century. The housekeeping staff were actually wonderful and helpful, but I left after one night even though I had paid for three.

1:30 in the morning. I got woke up by water coming from the ceiling could not even shower brush my teeth.

We booked a two night stay. We left and didn't stay either night. It was horrible. It was so bad I only wanted the money back for the second night just to get out of there as fast as possible. Needless to say I have yet to see any money back on my card.. There were druggies, broken doors, broken AC, filthy windows, Broken tiles in the filthy bathroom, the door had a inch gap you could see through, everything was dirty, sketchy people everywhere. If you are used to nice, clean drug free hotel stays, this is not the place for you.

This place was completely fifity and had a bad smell. The hallway smelled like cigarette and marijana smell. The room looked dark and dingy. The walls were dirty with splatter of whatever it was. The bathroom floors looked like it have not been cleaned in months and with hair all over the floor. The room did not smell clean and the carpet had stains. I heard people fighting and I do not think this is a safe place to bring your familty especially if you have children. The small refrigerator in the room was dirty, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The was food crumbs on the floor from the last person that staid in the room. The bathroom floor was dirty to where my feet stuck to it. The room smelled but I can’t figure out what the smell was. The wall outside the room had wallpaper coming off bc of the black mold. The staff wasn’t rude but not welcoming either. I won’t be staying again.

Had a Waffle House nearby, also was close to little shopping center. Horrible stay though, room 121s door didn’t close properly so I had to top latch to stay shut, I had trash in my trash can from previous guest, I had dirty sheets and I also met a terrible smell. AC was dirty and blew smells of old man, and receptionist was barely there. Don’t recommend at all.

The room and bathroom were dirty when we arrived. We had the distinct displeasure if staying for 3 nights because we prepaid and there were no refunds. In addition, our room was never cleaned during our entire visit. Just disgusting!!!

Property smells of ciggarette smoke...even the "non smoking room". There are guests with ankle monitors. The rooms somewhat resemble the expedia pics. The carpets are dirty and moldy smelling. Manager refused to refund after i saw the room and said i would rather cancel.

I chose this hotel because it was one of the cleanest but when I arrived this was the dirtiest the beds smelled bad the pillows were old and in poor condition the whole place smells like cicadas and other things I don't recommend it for the family ever

This is a. Extended stay residence. People were smoking weed outside the door in night gowns and slippers. I have pictures. It was positioned as a hotel when it is a residence for unhoused.

We booked a room with a Queen bed and had paid for it and when we got there they said they gave it to someone else even though we paid for it already and gave us two full beds instead and said their other rooms were booked up and that’s all they had and when looked at the beds the sheets hadn’t been changed and everything was dirty the sheets had crumbs and nasty stuff all over it the whole place was just dirty and stunk

Thought the property was going to be nice due to the outside but it was not, my family of 4 stayed one night and woke up to bedbug bites all over our body, let the manager know and he basically stated he cannot control who stay and what they bring to his hotel, smh I should have known because the mattresses didn’t have a mattress cover or protector 🚩Red Flag, Manager also tried to offer me $25 in cash when I paid $82 for the night through expedia, he stated that being I booked 3rd party they don’t get that amount from expedia so that’s all he could offer me. NEVER AGAIN💯💪

Smells terribly of cigarette and vape smoke in the hallways despite signs everywhere that said no smoking. The rooms were clean enough-ish - hairs in the corners of the bathroom floors etc. The lighting everywhere is dim and depressing. One of our rooms had severe and active water damage in the bathroom - thankfully they had another room available. The staff was very kind, and it was cheap - those were the only good points.

The rooms were clean, dim-lit and quiet space.

The hotel itself is pretty run down and smells of weed/cigarette smoke. The room was surprisingly clean-- I say surprisingly because it smelled immediately wet and like smoke. There is also a lack of accessibility- no ramp to the first floor rooms. The first floor has three steps down to it. The coffee here is also awful- it's like instant mixed with hot water in the machine and it made one of my friends sick. Wouldn't recommend this place.

How a place where people sleep Can be so dirty and so horrible smelling

I enjoyed my time at the Inn. The couple running the place were kind and attentive. Anything I needed they were able to supply. The toilet in my room was malfunctioning and I mentioned it to the front desk and within 30 min, maintainance was at the door and had it fixed. It was quiet and peaceful. I do plan to stay here again when I visit family in VA.

The room was fine. I was there for two nights. After the first night, my room was not cleaned and given new coffee and towels.

The property itself needs a serious upgrade. The people who work there are amazing and helpful.

Smoky. Chair was black from dirt. Carpet was nasty. Bed was comfortable but that’s about it. Glad we only were there to sleep and leave.

I enjoyed my stay. Only one minor problem…upon entering the room there was a stale odor. You can detect it each time you go into the room. After several minutes it was not detectable.

The entire facility smells like smoke and mildew. The room had very old furniture and the carpet was filthy.

Cons- dirty, smoke-free room smelled like smoke, some people were head loudly fighting and yelling most of the night.

( non smoking room at least ) it didn’t smell bad at all. The room was clean when I walked in. Nice size room. Bathroom was clean. The front desk was super helpful. My tv wasn’t working and they tried fixing it and sent maintenance immediately. For the price I say it’s worth it. I’ll definitely be going back when I drive back down.

What we liked: Location, Smoking allowed, Not too strong of an odor, the refrigerator and microwave. TV was nice and big. A.C worked really well. A few restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking in the back and right of the highway. A grocery store and liquor store very close. What we didn't like: Shower had. very low water pressure, Towels were rough as hell, we requested 1 queen but got 2 double beds instead, clumps of dust on the bed. I had housekeeping pick it up, we didn't have any idea of what it was. Pillows were small. The freezer needs to be defrosted. We were only there for 2 days so the room served it's purpose. We slept really well. Mostly because we were exhausted. You could feel the springs in the mattress. No hangers. Chair looked nasty, needed to be cleaned. Stains on iron board. No elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor. No Breakfast but they did have coffee in lobby. Overall decent hotel for short stays. Especially if other hotel prices are high. It looks like they had a recent name change, it was called City Center Inn.

This property It is OK for one night perhaps. It is not the worst but it can you some Upgrades. The dresser and TV stand has some chips and wear on it. There is somewhat of a oldness odor so they can use some fragrance around . The doors can be upgraded, the bathroom is not too bad. The front desk lady was nice.

I would NOT recommend this location! The place reeked in f SMOKE; the beds, bathrooms, room decor and location are very old and outdated! It reminds you of a horror movie hotel! Don’t choose this location!

You get what you pay for

The property was what I needed - a clean, safe place to stay for the night that was economical and close to the city. They had coffee available if you wanted it. I was able to get in and out of the property easily.
