Amazing 3-day weekend at The Resort at Pelican Hill! Our 3-bedroom villa had breathtaking ocean views, the spa was incredible, and the pool service was outstanding. A perfect, relaxing getaway — can’t wait to return!

The service at this resort was impeccable, without exception. I was blown away by the staff, from concierge to grounds crew. The staff and their leadership deserve kudos if not a raise from the higher ups. Will be back for sure. Oh and the food was excellent.

Pelican Hill is luxury at its finest. The staff a friendly and accommodating and the property is gorgeous!

This is by far the finest resort in Southern California! Entire resort & staff were amenable to every single need and we will be coming back.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. The pool is large but it was a little too cool when we were there to enjoy it much. The room was very large and the view is incredible. Would highly recommend.

A few things I did not like. The arrival center (check in etc) is a free standing facility. Guest rooms are in detatched bungalos that require shuttle to every venue. Shuttle drivers are very nice but wait times for a shuttle can be longer than expected. Limited breakfast offerings in very small coffee shop. Expect to spend a lot of money on any activity. Food and beverages are truly California west coast resort prices.

Spectacular golf course, comfortable bed for a restful stay, and excellent poolside service. Unfortunately, some service fell short. At our first dining visit, we were told to seat ourselves and then ignored for nearly 10 minutes. The bartender was fantastic, but the poor start kept us from dining here again. Housekeeping was attentive, but rooms need updating; our sliding door wouldn’t close and visible wear was noticeable. Underwhelming for a 5-star stay.

The stay at this hotel was utterly disappointing! We spent two nights here, but encountered countless bugs of various types, which was absolutely creepy and unsettling. The hygiene conditions were appalling, and these pests completely ruined our family's vacation. Strongly urge the hotel to improve its sanitation management. Cannot recommend!

Pelican Hill is a beautiful property with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. The staff bend over backwards to make your vacation experience memorable. It is pricey, but they treat guests extremely well

Very nice, cleaned and luxury

Spectacular resort with a huge heated pool. The spa is very relaxing and there is a shuttle to Crystal Cove beach. The food at the restaurants was outstanding. Great service.

Resort is still generally fantastic however there are less staff and services since Marriott took over management. Prices don’t seem to reflect a reduction in services.

Our private suite was broken into when we were out having dinner with our children.

The resort is in the middle of nowhere. You can't walk to the beach or anywhere else. The marine layer was present every day of our stay in July (which meant is was cloudy). The spa prices are ridiculous. Golf was great! The room had ants. Lots of them. The food was so so and overpriced. The gift shops were below par. The staff was attentive. The concierge was awesome. The property needs a good renovation.

This is one of the greatest resorts in SoCal. You do not feel like it’s a staycation. The grounds are immaculate, the staff and service was so accommodating and nothing was a problem. It is absolutely an expensive place, but if they keep up this level of service and kindness it’s worth every penny. I came with my little kids and they had an absolute blast. The Colosseum pool was so comfortable and kid friendly.

I have stayed at pelican hill many times over the years .the only reason I don’t is when the weather is warm your air conditioning is not up to standard! I have also heard this from other guests . I am in Orange County numerous times every year

Next level

The bungalows, grounds & golf course are gorgeous and all of the service was outstanding. We relaxed at the beautiful heated coliseum pool while our rooms were being made. We only stayed one night to celebrate my birthday and they immediately came with complimentary champagne & chocolates which we thoroughly appreciated & enjoyed. We didn't eat at the hotel so no comment on that. We loved that there was a self-parking lot at the main area & that we could park our car at our bungalow. Lastly, maid service was excellent. We had to rush to get ready for our dinner reservations & so my stuff was all over the bathroom. When we came back, all new fresh towels, our charger chords were tied together, & all my toiletries were laid out nicely. Such a nice touch!!

We had such an amazing time during our stay at this gorgeous property. Our room was perfect and our stay was too short so we will definitely be returning soon. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and they go above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. We don’t have any complaints because the Pelican Hill Resort does not disappoint! Thank you so much for everything. We can’t wait to go back!!!

This resort was amazing and top quality. The bungalow room was so spacious and clean. The service was top grade, the resort was impeccable and stunning. The shuttle service to Crystal Cove and back was also a nice addition. Highly recommend.

Everything is great. The only problem was that the dinning is not in the main area of hotel. Pool restaurant and golf club restaurant. When will they reopen Andrea?

Ahead of our arrival, they fulfilled our request for a microwave and surprised us with a delightful chocolate cake, complete with a personalized note for my wife. Transportation in luxurious Mercedes SUVs around the resort added to the exceptional experience. The staff's personalized service, addressing us by name throughout our stay, was a thoughtful touch. The privacy of the bungalows, free from the typical hotel layout, was highly enjoyable. Our time at Pelican Hill was truly remarkable, and we're already eager for our next visit.

Our first time at Pelican Hill, won’t be the last. The staff was absolutely amazing. Guest services hit a 10+. Where many resorts fail, Pelican Hill’s ADA room was actually accessible, comfortable and well thought out.

Great resorts, stay away from the Colosseum restaurant for breakfast. The lady manager there is disaster. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Otherwise, the hotel is lovely.

The Resort at Pelican Hill is an excellent way to get away and relax. The property is beautiful, the staff is professional and courteous. We rented a villa for my family and it was great to all be in one room in such a lovely facility. I'll definitely be back some day

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding weekend in Newport Beach. After a few days in the Los Angeles/Santa Monica area taking in the tourist sights and fast-paced city life, Pelican Hill proved exactly what we needed to slow down and relax. We arrived early but were immediately warmly greeted and escorted to check-in, where our bags were taken for storage while we were familiarized with the property and made some wedding-adjacent plans with the salon and spa before a lunch at the Coliseum. The food was of good quality but the view took the experience to a whole new level, with the golf course fairway buttressing a view of the Pacific coast, all behind the massive Coliseum pool. A short burst of Southern California rain led to us sitting inside where the accommodations were plenty roomy and regal. After a few old fashions, the staff took us to our room in tidy, washed Mercedes-Benz SUVs. Our room also had been cleaned and neatly organized, with our bellman giving us a full tour of the various amenities. The back terrace had a great view of the ocean and of course the ubiquitous well-maintained hedges of the property. Quiet and well lit but spacious, two lounge chairs and a table with chairs made for a good reading and resting environment for the next few hours. I am coming up on the limit of this review but overall Pelican Hill sets the bar for professionalism and luxury. I will be recommending this as a place to stay for a long, long time, but will certainly return earlier.

The customer service and area of the resort was the best. I think that is what you are paying for. We loved the view each day from our room and pool and main areas. Although the actual property and room seems to be showing it’s age. The hot tub area was very small and there were several broken tiles that just made the area feel unkept. Also the amount of spiders on the walkways and our back patio made us feel very uneasy. Our rooms were made up each day and everyone on the property including house keepers and valet were very friendly. We did notice that they never actually changed out our sheets but just remade them. That mattered to us because we had a beach day and felt like we still had sand in our beds days after. Overall I would stay again just for the view and the service.

Have stayed here a few times and was disappointed that our check in was delayed until after 4:30 pm. The front desk person offered a food & Bev credit to make up for the delay and that was appreciated. Stayed 3 nights in a premium ocean view bungalow ($$$$$) and was surprised that we were not even offered turn-down service during our stay

This resort is one of the best in the world.

The overall property is well maintained and private. Disappointed that there was no mini bar/snacks in the room for purchase.
