Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests praising the cleanliness, staff friendliness, and excellent location in Chinatown, close to subway and various attractions. However, there are consistent complaints about the small room size, shower issues, and additional mandatory daily fees. Some guests also mention issues with air conditioning, noise, and the quality of breakfast provided.

The front desk staff was wonderful. So accommodating and helpful!
- 5/5
I also requested a late checkout at noon, which was approved. After oversleeping, I asked for an additional 15 minutes, and the front desk kindly accommodated without hesitation. That’s what great customer service looks like! Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and again.

They shut off heat because of a few hot days. Room temp was at 64 all weekend. Location was great for walking to major sights and easy to pick up a bus or subway. Parking wasn't free, it was 2 blocks away and they charged me at the hotel 139.

Location Hotel facility is old and dated, the air conditioning broke during our stay, we slept in 80 degree room, beds were too stiff, dirty looking paint job in hallway. Not worth the amount we paid.

Nice clean hotel

Guys on reseption nice. The hotel has no soundproofing. It is impossible to sleep. You will hear everything from the street (the hotel is located at the intersection of two streets with a lot of cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc.) and from inside - there is a huge distance under the door to the room, through which you can even hear what is happening in the neighboring rooms. The food for breakfast is terrible - only scrambled eggs and bacon. No vegetables. No cappuccino or latte. In the middle of the night, the pipes in the bathroom start to make terrible sounds. As the staff said, "Maybe the air in the pipes is coming out." I highly do not recommend staying here if you want to get enough sleep, have a normal breakfast, and be productive during the day.
- 4/5
A convenient, modern, and well-maintained hotel. The city views from the upper floors and the rooftop bar were magnificent! Great location in Chinatown - right next to the subway. Special thanks to the upper floor barman for nice cocktails and a friendly conversation! The breakfast was OK but a bit basic. The hotel staff were helpful and efficient, but some of them seemed to be in a bad mood.

Location. Clean. All worked the ridiculous rigidity saying my small children couldn’t see the view from the top of the building because it’s a bar. Don’t be stupid Americans. Its unkind

Great location. Great view from the upper level rooms. Rooms were nice. My only minor dings would be: 1) Breakfast room looked very run down and a little spooky. Hotel is connected to a bar; at night there are lots of guys hanging out on the steps to the hotel or right in front. Maybe hotel should think about ways to get them to move. Other than that, I would def stay there again.

Wonderful. Experience. Staff was wonderful to assist in accommodations.

The room was very dark the lighting was bad except in the bathroom the tv was outdated there was no microwave but there was a fridge
- 5/5
Highly recommend for any families to stay here. Family of 4 here and we had a great experience staying here. Clean room, friendly staff, breakfast was included during our stay and the staff at the breakfast are very friendly and helpful. Love that this location was near for all Chinatown top places to eat like literally 5-10 mins walking distance. My family would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable, the amenities were great!
- 2/5
The room was super small. Hotel felt dated and dusty. The location was not ideal for quick subway rides and required legnthy walks. We were nickle'd and dime'd for basic amenities including a check in an hour before the check in time ($30), microwave ($10 per night). The breakfast was mediocre at best.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel in a great location for exploring Chinatown and Little Italy. Room was clean and very comfortable. Great bar attached to property.
- 3/5
Friendly desk staff, entrance smells good it was clean and all but i booked 2 queen beds room and they changed it to 1 queen bed with a desk and a table and called it an upgrade. Wayever i didnt complain about it but then we woke up to a rat or small animal scratching the walls from the inside and we couldnt leave any sooner. Breakfast was in the basement. I would not go back
- 1/5
Multiple charges made onto my card, even after contacting the property before arriving and signing authorization to deduct funds before arriving. 2nd room wasn't ready on time, no discount was offered. Just seemed to want to keep chargin and charging cards. Not friendly. Rude stuff, not quality service and efficient.

Clean room, overall great staff, great breakfast (although the seating at times was limited). We got a corner room which was really nice for us and our two grandsons

- 2/5
Truly the strangest hotel room ever. It was super expensive for a small room and the room had a frosted glass wall exposing the bathroom to the rest of the room. Definitely not ideal for friends staying together for travel.
- 2/5
The staff was really poor (mainly Claudia Fernandez), I booked a room 5 months before the check-in, and they were not able to hold the room properly, so they placed us into an upgraded room and told us this would be our unique room for our 10 days stay, but 2 days later from our checkin, after we had placed out all of our clothes, the surprise came when they told us that we have to move to another room or move out from the hotel, with this words: move out or leave the hotel, they just offered us 6 beers in compensation, with all the arrogance at her best, even we asked fot a Consumer Complaint Form, they told us that they won’t give it top us until we move out from the bedroom. Scam hotel, or Claudia Fernandez is the worst front office I’ve ever seen. The rest is normal.
- 4/5
If you get it at a good price, this hotel is a find! Conveniently located near subway and bus, interesting vibes in neighborhood, lots of restaurants. Staff was wonderful and kind and responsive. Would stay here again!
- 5/5
The breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of food and drink options, all very well organized and delicious. The hotel staff was incredibly attentive. A special thank-you to Claudia Fernandez, who helped me a lot before and during our stay, always replying to my emails very quickly. And also to Justine, who decorated our room with balloons for my fiancée’s birthday. Such a thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more special. The location is perfect, with easy access to the subway and all major attractions within 15–20 minutes. Everything was flawless. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Big room by NYC standards - great location!
- 2/5
For the rate the room was small, and there was mold in the shower. I have pictures that prove it.
- 4/5
Breakfast had a nice variety and the breakfast staff were very welcoming.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, good value of resort fee (breakfast, water). Rooms are a bit dated, but overall nice stay.
- 5/5
Nice room with a perfect view!
- 5/5
Staff was great and friendly, especially our housekeeper. Our daughter was sick and had thrown up on the linens two nights in a row and she was so nice in helping us clean up and asking how she was.

Location
- 4/5
Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Good location. I was disappointed the roof top was closed for a private event so we didn't get to see the view. But I would stay again.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel thanks to the exceptional service of front desk manager, Claudia. She greeted all guests with genuine warmth. She went above and beyond to make sure guests are happy with their stays. She is a great asset to the hotel and a perfect example of outstanding hospitality. The whole team of front desk staff are very professional as well.

Cons: Breakfast is advertised as “free” on Expedia and the Wyndham site. What is not mentioned is that it is only free for 2 guests. If you have more that 2 people it is not “free”. They don’t tell you that until they email you a few days before your stay. Room temperature control did not work. Air pressure from the vent was very weak. The room stayed warm with the AC on for several hours. We opened the window in the evening which helped, but then had to deal with street noise and some guy on the street yelling at 5:30am for about 15mins. Room setup itself was nice but there are signs of wear and tear. For $500+ a night (after fees and taxes) I would expect much better.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel, very friendly staff and high quality rooms. The area is excellent in terms of being in Chinatown and by Little Italy
- 5/5
Super location, incredibly helpful receptionist in Blanca. Immaculately room. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff and the room were amazing. The view!!! Breakfast was very nice. Only complaint--- no vent fan in bathroom and no towel racks, so towels were draped over all furniture in room. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Heart of Chinatown and close to subway and bus. Nice open view.
- 5/5
Quiet part of the city

Extremely satisfied with the stay

The room had very comfortable beds and a great view. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially the concierge who helped with our destinations. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the convenient location near popular attractions.
- 5/5
Great location, quite and clean
- 2/5
It was noisy all nights around 1 am to 3 am

noisy place
- 5/5
All good. Except parking is not convenient plus expensive.
- 4/5
Although on very busy corner, Bowery/Canel at manhattan bridge entrance I was on 2nd floor sound was not an issue. FD staff very friendly and helpful. Room AC struggled to get below 72 degrees and only bed cover is heavy comforter felt hot in middle of night. Had a drink in beer garden was nice, open air, great view from rooftop but all inside. Breakfast was disappointing as expected
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
Room was clean, bed was comfy, hot breakfast was great! Despite being in a busy area it was very quiet in our room. Subway stops and restaurants are close and it made getting around easy. The staff was very helpful and arranged for my daughter who arrived a day later to stay on the same floor as us.
- 4/5
Great Location to go around the city with easy access to subway and food place are a plenty
- 5/5
The shower head is so hard to turn and confusing for hot andncold
- 3/5
The complimentary is horrible. Eggs hard and undercooked bacon. Served in the basement that serves as a dark club/bar at night. Great staff and clean, modern room.
- 2/5
The staff were nice but the AC in the room did not work and the hotel provided us with two fans to assist with the heat. Our room got as hot as 80 degrees
- 1/5
Everything from start to finish.
- 4/5
It was convenient for us but for the price that we paid, it could have been cleaner and cooler. It was very warm and no matter how much we reduced the temperature, the coldest it got in the room was 73 degrees.
- 1/5
Nothing. Hotel staff terrible
- 2/5
Small bed it was very stiff woke up with back and neck pain only 1 chair in the room and you share the balcony with people on the 15th floor so no privacy
- 5/5
Ok
- 2/5
C- grade. Air conditioning was horrible. Barely worked. Not cool. Hallways were 80-85 degrees. It was 99 outside. Bad experience. It was so bad they had to send an oscillating fan to my room. Shower drain backed up every day when I took a shower. Room was clean as well as hotel. Free breakfast. Friendly staff. Would not stay there again.

It was good but the only bothers me is that until now i haven’t got my change from the deposit that i made when we check out
- 3/5
Claudia was wonderful! I requested a late check out upon check in Sunday @9:00pm. I travel late and run our family restaurant late Saturday nights. I’ve been serving in the hospitality industry for 42+ years. At 11:10 am the door was being knocked on. I yelled that I had a late check out and the front desk called my room to give me the “talk” about rewards. Please set up an arrangement system with your team so that guests aren’t bothered in the am when they are requesting a later check out. I’m a good standing guest that has stayed a your hotel for over 10 years or more. It’s a simple request for later check out and should be a basic accommodation. ☮️
- 5/5
It was the perfect location and the staff was wonderful.
- 4/5
After a long day at my conference, a hot shower and a perfect comfortable bed. I slept very well.
- 2/5
That said, and other than that, everything else was fine. Location is very good because it's real close to China Town and little Italy. I should have just stayed at my favorite hotel, but chose to venture out a bit. Really though... Just the worst bed ever. For a second, I thought they put the box springs on top of the mattress by mistake and threw linens over that. Nope. It was just a rock hard bed. I'm not sure if all the rooms feature that "bed" (i.e., concrete slab), but my body is still recovering from that sleep. Fitbit also informed me that my sleep score that night was a 32 and my next day readiness was a 17. So, I have quantitative data that proves just how terrible of a night's sleep I got at this property. It's almost comical how terrible that bed was.
- 5/5
Nice location. Great place. Medium spacious room. Good amenities and location in the middle of Chinatown. Somewhat over priced
- 3/5
Staff was nice, room was clean. Our room was listed as having a “soaking tub” but it’s just a regular tub. Breakfast was on paper plates and not enough seating, no matter what time we went. Rooftop bar is only open a few days, which wasn’t what my confirmation email said, so we missed out on that. We needed to be near Chinatown, so the location was perfect. Not much of a restaurant there - and why serve Asian food when you’re surrounded by Chinese restaurants in Chinatown? Pub fare would be better, which would be more in line with the Beer Garden.
- 1/5
We booked our room via Expedia and when we checked in we instantly noticed it was not the same room we had booked- the pictures that was shown was not the room we got- we also was traveling with 2 infants and when we arrived at 9pm our room did not have the cot set up, we asked the front desk and it took over an hour to get one sent to our room (I had to call downstairs to say we needed it asap) once the cot was brought up they was missing sheets and a pillow again we called downstairs who told us someone would bring it up to the room. It was 10:45pm before they turned up. I was in tears with the whole experience - we asked whether we could change rooms as we had people knocking on our door then running in the lift as it was located in front of the lift. Again the downstairs did NOTHING, they told us they was full yet was still selling rooms on other websites so clearly did not want to help us. The most underwhelming experience and when we wanted to speak to management we was told there was no one there! Honestly don’t waste your time here they couldn’t care less about their customers
- 3/5
I personally believe that the pictures shown are misleading and dishonest. Do not show the reality of the facilities. Extremely small accommodations night shift at the front desk super dry, not friendly can’t remember his name.
- 3/5
The bathroom had mold in the sink and the shower. No ventilation in the bathroom. The view was beautiful though. They try but it's more of a backpacking tourist hotel. You don't get luxury for the price you pay.
- 1/5
small rooms , mold on bathroom walls . to over price for the conditions . staff was not to friendly , they also false advised their post . rooms dont really look like the photos and theres zero parking even though it says there a onsite garage
- 1/5
Our room was not ready because of short staffing. We waited for almost an hour. The bathroom has no ventilation and has mold growing in the sink and shower tiles on the grout. For the amount of money charged we expected more. Next time we will stay in another hotel. If you like luxury, this is NOT the hotel for you.
- 5/5
Cleaner, more spacious and nocer than the NYC standard. Staff wonderful. Good location for transportation, Chinatown and NYU.
- 3/5
2) Hotel advertised an outdoor roof top which was not available to guests ?
- 3/5
The Key card to the room did not work
- 3/5
Lots of drama in the lobby with people shouting, crying two days in a row.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Overall good and tidy but noisy over the weekend. My room had a shared balcony with other rooms which was not pleasant. I had to keep the curtain closed the whole time and would hear people walking outside the room. Staff was kind and responsive.
- 4/5
Really nice staff, fun location, and good value (especially for Manhattan). Only downsides were building-related: it was unexpectedly warm for April -- a good thing, mostly! -- but our 18th floor was HOT and we never did manage to achieve a comfortable temperature in there. Also, the elevators briefly stopped working a couple times. But the hotel is clean, close to transit and great food options, and every single staffer we met was nice and a credit to Wyndham.
- 4/5
Abigail at check in was so kind and awesome at her job.
- 4/5
Wonderful service. Love the breakfast
- 5/5
It was a great stay with good service. Good breakfast
- 3/5
On two occasions, we were seated and handed menus, only to be told afterward that the kitchen was already closed. It doesn’t make sense to provide menus if food isn’t available.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Good breakfast
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay with my kids. We flew in earlier and were able to check in at 11am instead of 3pm without being charged extra! The staff is extremely nice. The room itself was small however very comfortable. It had bottled water and a little fridge! The view out of the room at night time is amazing! We had dinner at one of the restaurants downstairs. The food was priced very good and tasted delicious! We will definitely come back
- 5/5
Jose was professional on check in, the hotels in the perfect location and smelled refreshing
- 5/5
Amazing hotel in China Town with incredible views and roof top bar is a vibe.

The place is really nice inside. The coffee and bagels were very good.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Definitely my go to spot whenever I’m in Chinatown, the prices and the customer service can’t be beat.
- 4/5
I like this hotel very well
- 5/5
Love the stay but you guys are very expensive with the room prices but overall I love my room
- 5/5
Easy access to everything (restaurants, subways, etc).
- 5/5
This was my second time staying. I absolutely love being central in chinatown for lunar new year. Felt very safe walking around. Hotel staff and accommodations were fantastic. Views on upper floor of the city spectacular.
- 5/5
It was wonderful
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Convenient location. Lots of shops and restaurants around. Close to subway.
- 5/5
Came here on a solo trip and felt the room was a great size for a single traveler. Convenient check-in and great location near numerous subway lines and PLENTY of great food in Chinatown and Little Italy. No complaints!
- 4/5
Most staff were friendly, responsive and genuine.
- 1/5
Our air conditioner was broken and the room was over 77 degrees all night long. The solution was to bring us a fan, thanks…
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location.
- 5/5
Convenient and safe!
- 5/5
Met my needs for a last minute reservation over Christmas in NYC. The room was spacious for 4 especially in the city. The continental breakfast had options that met all of our eating preferences and plenty of food. We took advantage of the discounted parking which was close and convenient. I would definitely stay again. I had another reservation at YOTEL and 23 hrs before check in they emailed me cancelling my reservation claiming my credit card was declined. My card denies this. I never got a call from YOTEL I could have given them 10 other forms of payment. We arrrived in NYC on Christmas Eve with nowhere to stay until Wyndham took us in and surprisingly had no issue with the very same card that Yotel claimed was declined
- 4/5
Helpful and accomodating staff, fairly clean rooms.
- 4/5
Under the new management, it was seamless and professional. The staff was warm and welcoming and vested in the customer experience.
- 4/5
I think 4 stars was pushing it a bit but overall a pleasant stay. Rooms we a good size and clean. Breakfast very average, mainly a carb overload but did offer hard boiled eggs.
- 2/5
Word to the wise DO NOT STAY HERE!
- 3/5
The room was cold and the heating was not working properly,
- 5/5
🔥
- 1/5
I feel robbed! $1K for two nights here?!? HORRENDOUS service, construction noises through the entirety of my stay, dated decor and a management that is without question, NOT hospitable.
- 3/5
First trip ever to nyc! The staff was pleasant for the most part. They have a nice bar connected to it that was chill! The rooms were decent as well and clean. One of the two elevators were down for most of the trip making it inconvenient especially when leaving since we had to use the stairwell with all our luggage from a top floor since we could never get on. But overall a nice stay
- 5/5
Happy with the hotel especially given the reasonable 350 a night cost
- 2/5
The property is conveniently located in lower Manhattan/Chinatown area but is showing its age. The room had wet carpet for the entire week I was there which created a very unpleasant modly/mildew smell for my entire stay. Breakfast was adequate (certainly not worth the $20 a day resort fee), Wi-Fi worked well. There was a nice rooftop bar on the 18th floor (in summer there is an outside space as well) and 2 restaurants on the lower level. Several.days one of the two elevators weren't working in the morning so had to uae stairwell to reach ground floor.
- 4/5
The staff is really nice, and the room was a little small but it works for NY and you are not in the room all the time anyway. Breakfast in the morning was good and convenient to eat at the property or take it to go.
- 1/5
The heating did not work we were in a room that the wind came through the door from the balcony and it was 58 degrees in the room. The manager was a very disorganized person. We left and got our money back. Rooms tiny for such a high price.DO NOT STAY HERE
- 1/5
I mis-booked the date. Staff was rude when I was confused about as much when I was simply trying to understand the situation. I didn't try to explore any avenues because I felt genuine disdain from the woman at the front desk so I just ate the cost. It was approximately around 5-6 AM when I arrived.
- 4/5
The air conditioning in our room did not work, and it took almost two hours for them to send engineers and ultimately move us that took away from our quiet time in the afternoon, which was not fair. We wanted to take a nap and rest up before a party on Halloween. We did not get to do that.
- 5/5
Place was amazing. It was near everything we wanted to do. The place had its own roof top bar, which was really cool and a ramen bar underneath
- 5/5
The hotel was very very good! The area around the hotel was not terrible but you can’t forget you are in Chinatown.
- 4/5
Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Could have had another chair or two. Staff nice.
- 2/5
The hotel was ok. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The renovated the bathroom but did a ver poor job. They didnt coordinate it properly and the water was just everywhere. It was a mess. The bed was super uncomfortable. I guess that it served its purpose to have a place to sleep. It was pricy for what it was.
- 3/5
No working AC on a very hot week, very uncomfortable stay
- 3/5
Amazing views from the room and bar. Average at best everything else. Breakfast below average - poor selection and had to wait for a seat as it was busy
- 5/5
I liked the location, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and modern.
- 1/5
We arrived to no valet, bell service or security, so we were forced to unload our own vehicle while surrounded by junkies and homeless, then park ourselves a block and a half away. The room is about a small as a I've ever stayed in. Satellite TV was without any signal,so that was a little ridiculous. But the real problem was that the room doesn't have temperature control. 83 degrees when my wife and I woke up choking dry at 3am. We had to open the door to a shared balcony to get the temperature down to 80, and sleep with one eye open because, well, it's a shared balcony. We are here for 1 night only for my brothers wedding. So without a good night's sleep, I now have to let my wife get ready here, and I'll get the car so I can sweat the loading, and then wait until I get to the church to put my suit on. This is easily the worst hotel experience I've ever had. $600 for the night and I don't think the description of a "dump" begins to cover it.
