Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, with guests frequently mentioning its proximity to Central Park, MoMA, shopping, and the theater. The staff is consistently described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating. However, there are mixed reviews about the rooms, with some guests finding them spacious and beautifully appointed, while others describe them as substandard and outdated.
- Excellent location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Inconsistent room quality
- Outdated facilities in some rooms

Great old hotel. The room was beautiful, large and clean. The only thing I didn't like was that the fancy light switches did not work so you have to turn most of the lights on with the switch on the lamp cords. Not a big deal for such a beautiful room. I recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

My family were there in 3D2N, the room was clean and location was convenient for us to walk whole city. Staffs are very professional and helpful, they are always contact with us to help. I’ll go to Warwick next time!!!

The couch was stained and dirty. There was no toilet paper. The room phones did not work. The A/C did not work well; the room was still warm. Some of the bed pillows were missing the pillow cases. The mailroom staff was not pleasant.

Location Staff seemed slow, demotivated. No towels in the bathroom when I arrived. Having to store luggage.

I was allergic to somethung in the room on our first night. I was in a new room by 930 a.m. the next day.

Overall a super nice hotel right in the middle of everything. Would stay at again

Located in midtown Manhattan and nearly right next door to MoMA, and about 2 blocks from Rockefeller Center, the Warwick was just about perfectly located for this trip. Our room was surprisingly spacious and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did miss having an in-house restaurant or rooftop bar, but those were easily located close to the hotel. Both my husband and I find that older hotels, such as the Warwick, have poor lighting, and fewer electrical outlets. We were disappointed that they charged a facility fee. The cost of the facility fee is often not included in the price of the room when one is searching for a hotel.
- 4/5
Loved the location and lobby The rug in the bedroom was disgusting and should be ripped out! I was really disappointed about the bar. It was a big game night, we invited friends back to the hotel to watch … and at 10:30 or 10:40 when we asked for a drink we were told that she already did last call??? The bar was packed and the bartender left!!!! Unbelievable !!!!

Location was perfect. Short walk to times Square, theatre district & many great restaurants. Great history. We had a roach in our room on our 2nd night, pictured. Appreciate the building is old, called reception to request assistance, they were going to send someoneup, nobody arrived. I managed to kill it with my shoe. Mentioned to manager on checkout who advised he would process a partial refund & have received nothing to date, this was 2 weeks ago. Not the best customer care. Probably won't return. Expensive stay for what it was.

The hotel location was great and it is well maintained for an old hotel. Unfortunately, the day of our arrival there was a parade nearby that caused the closure of several nearby streets and a security checkpoint onto 54th. Hotel staff seemed oblivious and made no attempts to triage for their guests. It was incredibly frustrating and terrible way to start our visit.
- 5/5
It’a in the centre of the centre of the world. The rooms are large and confortable, the hall is relaxing. I would come back Nothing
- 5/5
Very well appointed room, with ample electric outlets for our devices, with decent free wifi. We will be back. Our room was better and $100 less than MidTown Marriott (on 3rd Ave), where we have stayed before. Close to central park and the Theatre district and MOMA.
- 5/5
Travelled with my children 12 and 14 as we passed through US for a few nights. Shared a double room which was very spacious. Convenient location, plenty of supermarkets nearby and quick 10 min walk to Times Square. Good value for money.
- 5/5
Staff is unbelievably helpful and nice and the hotel was spotless
- 3/5
The door to the dresser and refrigerator were too close to the end of the bed so we couldn’t make use of the drawers or the refrigerator. As a result, our clothes had to remain in our suitcases for the entire trip. I booked a city view king and received a king bed with no view. The room was small compared to the 400 square feet I booked. The bar opens late in the afternoon and the restaurant only serves breakfast. If you’re coming back after an evening Broadway show, you have no food option.

The hotel is wonderful! Great location, friendly staff and very clean. My only complaint was that the beds were very hard if you have back issues. The staff did bring some duvets and tried to help me make it softer. Overall I would stay here again and again. The experience was wonderful and I can deal with a harder mattress than I am used to anytime

Not sure if "Heaven on Earth" is a technical description, but there you go. Fabulous linens and bed, beautiful room, sparkling clean everything, cheerful staff dedicated to helping you (including the doorman), in short: we will no longer stay anywhere else in NYC! Perfect location!!!!!
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room. Nicely maintained hotel.
- 2/5
The location is good and the lobby area staff were very helpful Booking.com needs to make people aware that some rooms at the hotel have no daylight out of the window I know New York hotels have limited views but this room opened onto a light well that was completely enclosed and opening the window blinds allowed no daylight into the room Fortunately we were only there for one night Anyone with claustrophobia would really have suffered We were not allowed to go into the area set aside for breakfast as we only wanted coffee. You were obliged to purchase food to take a table in there

This was our first trip to New York, and the Warwick was the perfect place to stay! It is centrally located, has the classic New York feel, history, but with modern amenities, and the staff was super kind.

Staff was very helpful. Location is fantastic.

Everything was great except there was construction right outside our window with scaffolding and lights on all night They should have let us know before booking. Nice room great service but bad communication Unacceptable for a hospitality business even if it’s New Uork

The Warwick is very conveniently located and safe all around. There are a few cute restaurants right down the street that have outdoor seating and great wine lists. The hotel is well decorated well maintained clean and the staff was very helpful.

Lovely historic and located ideally in Manhattan! Bar is a treat! Restaurant was very good! Will definitely return!!
- 4/5
Great location. Property is undergoing updates but still a good value.
- 4.5/5
The location is fantastic with easy subway access nearby. The lobby is grand and beautiful. Umbrellas were available to borrow which was a nice perk and we appreciated having a few water bottles left in the room daily. The doormen were all so friendly and welcomed us back each time. The room size was great! While our room was actually larger than expected by NYC standards, it was very tired. The furniture and interior room doors were all beat up and scuffed and the bathroom was tiny.
- 0.5/5
The fire alarm in our room started chirping overhead at 4 in the morning. Called the front desk. Fire alarm kept chirping rest of the night, No sleep. Finally maintenance came at about 8 a.m. and replaced the unit. Manager said he would adjust our bill. Never did.
- 5/5
Suite was very accommodating for 3. Very comfortable. Staff very helpful. Great location
- 5/5
I loved the location. The second floor lounge and bathrooms were nice as we arrived early and left late. They had umbrellas for the rain, very helpful with tips on the area. Would stay there again. Also we could leave our bags but there was a $2 fee.

Overall I was very satisfied. When I checked in my room wasn't ready so I went off and had lunch. When I came back later one of the front desk staff went about finding my room. I was given a room on the 23rd floor and he seemed pleased with his choice for me. Later when situated I opened the curtains to find that my view was a brick wall. I think, based on the cost of the stay, that should have been brought to my attention. We were already unpacked so I just mentioned it to the front desk later and it seemed they could care less.
- 4/5
- 4/5
Superb location but the hotel is very tired. The power outlets are all very loose, to the point where appliances fall out. They're also pulling away from the walls. The lifts also need a little attention. Unless you're staying on the top floor be prepared to see a lot of lifts pass you by while you wait for one that you can fit in.

We have stayed at the Warwick for many years! We always come back because of the doorman who greeted us on Friday! He has been there for as long as we’ve been coming to Warwick. We were on the 21st floor this time and although the room was well appointed, I felt that it was a bit small for all of our luggage and for two people. It takes forever for the water in the bathroom to heat up. When we arrived, there was only one elevator operating (or so it seemed) and it was packed full. My husband and I walked down 21 flights so we would make our reservation on time. I did mention it to someone at the front desk, and it seemed to resolve the problem for the remainder of our stay. The staff is always friendly with me and for the most part accommodating. It’s a great location and an easy walk to Broadway and many good restaurants! Our rooms are always clean and these are the reasons we return year after year!
- 5/5
Nice, clean, comfortable, reliable, excellent overall
- 2/5
Disappointed in the experience, the aging facilities, and the lack of amenities.
- 5/5
Great location and the staff is the best. It feels like our home away from home. We like everything about this place!
- 4/5
The hotel was in a fantastic location. The manager, Blake, was great! Although I booked a premier city view room, I was given a room on the third floor with a view of a square turf. The lights above one bed were not working so I had to call someone to come fix it. The bathroom drain was slow. The hotel is old and showing its age. I had my luggage stored for a few hours as I had a later flight. They charged $2 per bag and the guy at the bell service was not friendly.
- 4.5/5
Location and rooms are good. Staff was inconsistent in making microwaves available. My family had three different rooms. We separately asked for microwaves. Two families were told no microwaves were on the property. One family was given a microwave for their room. This left us confused.
- 3/5
Classic NY hotel with great atmosphere, a great midtown location and friendly staff. My room (1605) did not have an actual window, difficult even to find out whether it was raining or sunny outside . AC is totally outdated, too noise and must be replaced. Rooms are of good size but there are too many pieces of ( large) furniture inside .

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Warwick! The first room we were assigned, a premium with a city view, had a malfunctioning AC that made a very loud squeaking noise. They sent maintenance to look at it who then left for 2 hours with no update. It was over 90 degrees outside and the room heated up pretty quickly. We had to call and leave a voicemail with the front desk, then had to ultimately go down to the front desk where we were then moved to another room. It was a bit frustrating to deal with that for hours, but once we got into the new room, everything was better. Very clean, great AC. Door staff and packaging/bag staff are all very helpful and kind. We only asked for our room to be cleaned once over the 5 day period and they did a very good job. Location is great and central to everything. They provide a mini fridge for guest use which was really nice. We appreciated amenities like complimentary umbrellas for use during rainy days. We would absolutely return again.
- 5/5
I would say this hotel is very good the place is old and historical very close to many travel spots including Times Square, central park and more I would say the immmates were ok not very good overall pretty good they clean and work they don’t have much room service but good standards for very few days or more like 3-5 days would be good no more bring your own shampoo and conditioner the one there is very bad so bring your own I would say it’s very close to most places people like to go to like restaurants and cafes it’s charming and old fashion like very old I would say it’s not modern but still good the elevator is very long wait it takes forever for it to get to your floor especially if you’re a low floor like3-10 it’s really long wait cause it goes to high levels first like 20-30 so it’s ok tho have fun!! Have a great trip to New York!!!!

Overall very quiet. Rarely we heard voices in the adjoining room. But no noise from above or through the walls. We appreciated the lighting. The room was clean and well kept. The hotel is in an excellent location.

Location. Doorman/valet John and bellman Jesus were over the top awesome. Ideal location. Beautifully appointed. Unlimited coffee and water in the room. Big closet. Comfortable room and beds The window looked out on a wall with a scaffolding with no daylight. Construction on the scaffolding started at 9 AM. The room was next to the elevator which made a low-pitched hum when it passed.

Staff was excellent and very helpful. The bathroom in our first room was very small and required a step up, the door stuck so badly you needed help getting out, as did the shower door. There was about 2' between the vanity and shower door so you had to straddle the toilet to open the shower. There were no bath towels in the room. The second room's bathroom was much better, but there was no bathmat or bar soap. It had a tub shower which was very slippery.

The city view room barely had a view to one side. The majority was straight into other rooms windows. When checking out the front desk asked if we wanted to leave our luggage and signposted us just around the side. They did not mention the hotel does not store luggage for guests for free. It’s $2 per item and they only take cash. I’ve never had this anywhere else in New York so it’s disappointing, especially that it wasn’t mention until we’d queued up to leave the luggage.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Air conditioning was great. Rooms cleaned every day. Drinks prices in the bar very expensive.

The location was so convenient, the staff was attentive and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and kept immaculately. The room I chose was perfect and so roomy with great views. 10/10 recommend. The elevators are a bit small, and you had to wait some, but honestly it was a minor inconvenience.

The location Our stay was terrible from the minute. We got there. First the idiot at the front desk charged my card and her card her card for 2300 my card for 2100 then said oh we can’t put it back on her card as I was day they were only supposed to take out $400 for the incidentals you come to find out that night that they taken out 23 off her card so I went back down there and all of a sudden they were able to take that off service was not great. People were rude room was so small and crappy we will never ever ever stay at this hotel again and I will make sure to let everyone know not to stay here. Trust me be smart. Don’t stay here. There’s so many way better hotels in New York especially for that price. I will make sure to tell everyone never to stay here.
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and well lit, with a walk-in closet and plenty of power outlets. We had a sunny view of 54th St, and weren’t disturbed by traffic noise. We also weren’t disturbed by any noise inside, so we both slept well on the comfortable beds. There’s good eating, shopping, and transport options around the hotel. I’d stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Warwick. It’s a beautiful historical building, and our room was great, spacious, and quiet (especially with the fan on). Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. It is hard to catch an elevator from the main bank on Friday/Saturday for checkout, but if you use the elevators behind the main bank, it’s a lot faster. Otherwise, the elevators are fast and smooth. The location was ideal for us to walk to theatre shows but also enjoy some of uptown without always needing to take a subway somewhere. It’s also 2 blocks from the Shawarma Bay food truck, which is great for delicious late-night bites!
- 5/5
Had breakfast everyday at the hotel restaurant. It was very tasty and service was awesome!
- 5/5
Great Midtown location perfect for walking to Broadway shows and strolls in Central Park. The rooms are huge by NYC standards and the staff is kind and helpful. The three lobby elevators are very old and slow. They only accommodate 6 ppl each and they create a big bottleneck in the morning when guests are checking out.
- 5/5
Warwick is my favorite NYC hotel. Classic, excellent staff, excellent location. No complaints whatsoever

If you are looking for a classic Midtown experience, you might be tempted by the Warwick’s storied history and central location. However, be warned: the "Old Hollywood" glamour has faded into a frustrating, high-priced exercise in patience. For the premium price point, you can find significantly better accommodations in the immediate area. Here is a breakdown of why this stay missed the mark. The Room Experience: Small & Tiny Cramped Quarters:The rooms are remarkably small, even by Manhattan standards. Navigating the space feels less like a luxury stay and more like a puzzle. The Elevator Bottleneck: The elevators are tiny and slow. Expect to spend a significant portion of your morning waiting in the hallway just to get to the lobby. Maintenance Woes: The infrastructure is struggling. In our case, the lighting was non-functional upon arrival—we literally had to wait for an electrician just to turn the lights on. Service & Housekeeping Failures While maintenance issues are an inconvenience, the housekeeping service was genuinely problematic. *Critical Note:** The cleaning staff accidentally swept our prescription medications into the trash. This wasn’t just a lapse in tidiness; it was a major safety issue that forced us to coordinate an emergency replacement set at a nearby Walgreens. **Final Verdict** The Warwick is **way past its prime.** While the arch

Clean room with plenty of space, excellent consierge.
- 3/5
I didn't use the breakfast restaurant or bar too pricy, plus outside the doors there were just as good cheaper options.
- 5/5
Our room was amazingly quiet and secluded being in the heart of Manhattan. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were very high quality. Our suite was a spacious and restful space. Two complaints: First, the furniture in the sitting area was tired and in need of replacement. Second, there are only three elevators for a 33-floor hotel. Most times, not a problem but best avoid being in a hurry at high traffic times. Concierge gave us great recommendations for dining but could have been a little more personable.
- 5/5
Overall a very nice experience. Room was roomy and clean, staff was very helpful as we needed umbrellas for the day and they were plentiful. We spent a couple of late nights in the bar and were well taken care of. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
A cool historic hotel near the center of everything

The staff were so understanding and accommodating. I had an extra long flight and had been waiting to check into my room but housekeeping was delayed. So the manager upgraded me to a terrace view room (I was originally a City view room) and it was an incredible room!! I really appreciated the hospitality and graciousness of the hotel and staff.
- 4.5/5
The location was perfect for us. The sleeping and sitting areas were spacious and comfortable. The staff was great. The hotel was peaceful and quiet. The bathroom was tiny; the elevators were sometimes slow; and the breakfast, while tasty was very expensive.
- 4.5/5
Lovely room. Bed was comfortable. Decor was warm and welcoming Need the clean the bathroom door. When you close it there was lots of dust on the molding.
- 5/5
Lovely clean room and attentive staff. Very enjoyable.
- 5/5
Excellent staff. Quick check in convenient location
- 5/5
Awesome staff, the room was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again, felt very safe traveling by myself!
- 3.5/5
Very good location. Just across MOMA. Everything very close. Nice restaurants in the area, walking distance from central park. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Room has no view. It was very dark in the room because window was blocked by some constructions and giant fan.
- 4.5/5
view was bad - looking at a brick wall
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. Hotel was clean. Would stay again for sure.
- 5/5
Comfortable and well located hotel. Only nit would be very little storage in bathroom.
- 5/5
This was our second stay at The Warwick. Very generously sized rooms for NYC, unbeatable location for our long weekend since it's close to Broadway, Central Park, 5th Ave shops and walkable to Penn/Moynihan Station. Staff super friendly and helpful with bags, taxis and food recs, and charmed my travel-weary teens! Only would have liked Smart TV options to pick a movie for our one night in but found a Hunger Games marathon :). Would choose this hotel again!
- 5/5
Our room was spacious and clean. Nice experience. We would return
- 4/5
Loved having such a big room in NYC. Having an extra bedroom to allow my grandson to sleep in after I was awake was fabulous. Location of the hotel is super convenient and easy to get to Metro and walking distance to a lot of things. Obviously it's NY so I know it's pricey, but as always, the sticker price is shocking. The breakfast cost was ridiculous and they added a 15% tip for just two of us. The room was clean but the shower curtain smelled mildewy which was a disappointment considering that is easy and cheap to fix.
- 4/5
great stay
- 5/5
Warwick hotel was outstanding. Beds were super comfy. There was zero noise. Everything was spotless and the staff well, honestly, what a refreshing treat to have superb customer service. Perfect location ! My family and I enjoyed every moment and hope to be back again.
- 5/5
Ascensores no son sufiencientes, hay tráfico cada mañana para poder bajar al lobby. Hasta 5-6 ascensores llenos que no se puede subir. Ubicación excelente Buena limpieza
- 5/5
Love this place!
- 5/5
Location, staff, everything amazing. I will stay here again and again thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
- 5/5
Clean rooms; friendly staff
- 5/5
everyone was accommodating. Great location.
- 2/5
I checked in late in the evening. The room I was given must have been the last available - its only window faced a dark corner of the building with scaffolding completely covering the only room window. The "view" was of a brick wall with bird droppings all over it. The next day I requested to be moved to another room because I was staying a total of 6 nights. The front desk said none were available and that I would have to pay an upgrade charge of $50/night to be moved to a better room. Very disappointing that the type of room I had originally paid for, and that was advertised by The Warwick as a standard king room, was not offered.
- 2/5
I am saddened by this all because I used to absolutely love this hotel. Hope this helps!
- 4/5
The Warwick is an excellent option for a midtown stay at a reasonable price. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was well equipped and comfortable. My only suggestion is that the lighting in the bathroom could be brighter. I can’t say it’s a five star experience because I had an inside room with only a view of the other side of the building, but it’s a very solid four star experience.
- 5/5
This is a lovely older hotel in excellent condition. The staff was helpful. The room was comfortable. The location was excellent—we were able to walk to museums, shows, and a concert. Bus and subway stops were also convenient. We will stay at the Warwick again.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
The location is perfect for an NYC experience and the hotel itself was top notch. Not only were the rooms very clean, but hardly any “city noise” at night when sleeping.
- 4/5
This is a delightful hotel. The staff are warm and welcoming, and there's a friendly atmosphere among the guests as well - people say hi and chat in the elevator. The rooms are very large by NY standards, and well-appointed. At some point, the physical plant will need to be addressed. The AC sounds like an aircraft carrier in full throttle, and the bathroom fixtures are so loose it feels they're going to come off in your hand. But we absolutely love the location, the people, and the very ample, comfortable rooms.
- 3/5
On a postive note, the location was ideal for the area. Unfortunately, the hotel is a bit dated and the rooms and bathrooms are dated and not very comfortable. I've stayed at older hotels, but they kept the interior and rooms updated. With our room at the Warwick, the mattress was very uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathrooms need updating and some safety features, the toilet and vanity are low, not much room to put things on and the bathtub/shower was very slippery yet had no grab bar. We went to Randolphs bar (inside hotel) one night, drinks were very watered down. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again for all of these reasons.
- 4/5
Spectacular location. Lobby and rooms could use a refresh. Bar limited hours, no food.
- 3/5
I was having breakfast in restaurant and it was closing. Could not take my plate upstairs. Had to put my food into a plastic container. Stopped at bar after concert. Last call at 10:15. Could not finish my drink. No Keurig machine in room. In general, I was not happy with hotel. Would take a lot for me to stay there again.
- 4/5
On arrival I was told the suite I booked was unavailable and I was reassigned to a regular room with one bed and a sofa bed. Apparently a water leak had to be taken care of. Luckily they stood by their word and I was given the booked suite for the rest of my stay. It was an inconvenience for one night but the rest of our stay was great. It’s in a prime location with lots of things to do, a few blocks from Central Park and 5th Ave flagship stores. We loved it!
- 5/5
Great dark and quiet rooms for sleeping. Love the location. Staff was very kind and warm. We’ll be back!
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Breakfast good but expensive. Didn’t use the bar.
- 5/5
Breakfast good but expensive. Didn’t go to the bar.
- 5/5
The hotel also had an old-time classy feel. Frank Sinatra was playing in the background. Beautiful place! I can't recommend it enough.
- 5/5
Will certainly stay here again! Excellent hotel with great history and superb location. Elevators are small so patience is needed as they fill up quickly. Rooms are quiet and bed is very nice.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious room, good staff, would recommend
- 5/5
The room was perfectly laid out very clean and the cleaning staff was very attentive
- 4/5
Toilet blocked soon after arrival We had a blocked toilet in 2019 too despite being fastidious about what went into it Also the room lock failed but it was fixed quickly Otherwise excellent place to stay
- 5/5
Just a good, reliable, reasonably price hotel in great area of NY. Great value.
- 1/5
horrible manager
- 5/5
Always a great place to stay
- 2/5
I was not aware that there was a gym we could use or where to find ice or snacks to purchase.
- 5/5
Air conditioning wasn’t cold so the room was very warm, but besides that we had a great trip. Everything was clean, the room was spacious , the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were kind and welcoming. It would have been nice to get a room with a view, but didn’t affect the trip. Many thanks, we will definitely be back
- 5/5
Excellent staff and location The hotel is "old"
- 2/5
Room was clean. Bathroom space ridiculously small without even a shelf to put toiletries. Dangerous Metal shower door with sharp edges. Safe deposit did not work. Talked to staff about all these issues, however did not help.
- 3/5
Paid for a double bed suite and when I arrived they gave me King size.
- 5/5
The Warwick was lovely with friendly helpful staff, clean, nice sized rooms and a good location
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and very quiet room. The upgrade to a balcony corner room was very nice.
- 5/5
Close to everything within walking distance. Clean room. Very friendly helpful staff. Comfy bed. I can’t say anything bad. It was an excellent hotel.
- 5/5
Other than a challenge getting into our room due to a problem with the keys, the entire stay was great. Staff was professional and polite, the bar was comfortable and classy, and the location was terrific.
- 2/5
While the location is great, the room itself left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, the mirrors and desk were visibly dirty—we ended up cleaning them ourselves. Throughout our stay, housekeeping was minimal at best. The beds were made, but the room was never properly cleaned. One of the biggest frustrations was the lack of towels. Almost every day, we were left without enough towels for the three of us and had to call the front desk. On about 6 out of our 8 nights, we had to request towels, and it often took close to an hour for them to be delivered. We chose not to complain or switch rooms once we had settled in, but in hindsight, we probably should have. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations, especially for the price and reputation. Sadly, we would not choose to stay here again.
- 3/5
Rooms clean and overall ok. Staff was good and helpful.
- 5/5
good breakfast
- 5/5
Beautiful room excellent location!
- 5/5
Lobby staff and bar staff were great
- 4/5
Clean room. Staff was okay, not great. We had to call down for more towels multiple times. It was also a busy time during Christmas holiday. It was a good location, close to everything but also quiet. Bar is expensive, as expected. Breakfast was good food but poor service

We have stayed at the Warwick many times. It’s a great hotel in midtown. The rooms are clean and the staff is amazing.

Friendly staff, convenient location.
- 5/5
Needs larger bathroom, but otherwise great. The doormen were EXCELLENT!
- 1/5
They charge for bag to leave for 2 h
- 4/5
Bathroom is a little bit dated
- 5/5
We love the location and the size of the room is great for a weeks stay. They are renovating the balconies but couldn't use it anyway due to the weather.
- 4/5
Dated
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and fine and in a decent location don't get me wrong, but for the price we paid, the bathrooms are outdated, the elevators were crowded, you have to pay to hold your luggage, and overall it just was not 5 star. But nothing WRONG with it and if we had to we could stay again.
- 5/5
Room was very clean

The Warwick is a very good hotel, well run, decent sized rooms and a helpful staff. The New York hotel room price has gotten crazy in the last several years and the Warwick has a fair rate compared to lessar properties that have been charging more due to strong demand. I usually do not stay in midtown but the Warwick delivers a good value.
- 2/5
The pillows are extremely hard made out of foam. I called housekeeping and was told that they only have a few feather pillows and that they are with other guests and to call the next day. I called the next 2 days and was told the same thing each day. 2 of the days they only put 2 towels and no bath mat in our bathroom even though we had 3 people staying in our room. The staff were nice and tried to help, but overall this hotel fell short and I was unimpressed and wouldn’t choose it for our next trip to NYC. I’ve also never had a hotel charge to store luggage while waiting for a room, but this hotel charges you for each bag you want to store.
- 5/5
Was a great location! Very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast also.
- 5/5
Fantastic staff. So helpful and welcoming and brightened my stay. From the valet to the front desk to the amazing bar staff. I also loved the room, very spacious and comfortable bed. I was sad the restaurant was closed beyond breakfast but - its NYC, it was fine, I had plenty other options. The hotel itself is gorgeous and felt quintessentially NYC. I will be staying here again!
- 4/5
The only shortcoming was a somewhat noisy ventilation system.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
Bar closes 11pm on Saturday. For someone attending a show and looking for a nightcap they must go some where else. $2 charge for storing bags even if your room isn’t ready when you check in
- 5/5
Staff was the best… all of them! They helped us out of a bind, but even had they not… they’re all the perfect mix of friendly and professional and definitely made our stay in NYC better than it would otherwise have been
- 5/5
Very nice. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice little bar. Good location in midtown.
- 5/5
We had a terrific stay at this classics New York hotel. The staff were excellent. What more can we say then we will go back to the Warwick our next visit. Thanks.

The room was spotless, very convenient to Radio City and Central Park. Breakfast only in the restaurant.

Great stay, staff was friendly

Location is great midtown spot on west side. Rooms big enough and bathroom too. It’s nice that they have a bar downstairs too!
- 5/5
Wonderful location and staff. Could use a restaurant that serves dinner
- 3/5
old rooms, musty smell
- 3/5
This hotel is 100 years old and it shows. Good location. Pleasant staff. Dated rooms. Incredibly thin walls. Tiny escalator and roaches the size of half dollar!
- 4/5
Comfortable room but a bit dated. Staff are nice and welcoming.
- 5/5
Construction noise terminates at 6pm and begins at 9am so really not an issue. Was able to check in early. Great experience!
- 3/5
The rooms are a little outdated and construction was going on outside my window
- 5/5
Staff great

- 5/5
All of the above!
- 4/5
Old world charm and the location was excellent

Heating is dated , thermostat not precise, and system very very noisy. Improper of a modern hotel
- 4/5
Everything was great except the noise from the air conditioning
- 5/5
Staff was lovely and room was very nice.
- 5/5
Room and bathroom were spotless, front desk staff doorman very professional and customer focused, provide luggage storage prior to check-in and after checkout superb!
- 2/5
The room that we booked wasn’t available so they offered us an upgrade to a larger suite but it only had one bed. We let them know that we clearly needed two beds and were willing to take any room they might have 2 beds even though we had booked a suite. The gentleman offered us a rollaway bed or we could use the pullout couch which just didn’t seem like a solution. He said he would talk to the manager. The manager appeared and said “I understand the upgrade we gave you isn’t good enough for you?“. How absolutely obnoxious. We never said anything about not appreciating the upgrade we just said that we needed two beds. He told us the upgraded room had two beds and he was corrected by the front desk clerk that in fact there was only one bed in that suite. He then said he would go up and look at some of their closed down rooms to see if any of them were ready to have guests and were the original suite with two beds that we had reserved. He asked us to wait five minutes. After five minutes, the gentleman from the front desk appeared and handed us a key for a room that was exactly what we had booked. The manager never appeared again. We did not even get as much as an I’m sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. Absolutely atrocious customer service! That being said it is a very nice location and the room was very nice. But, after being treated so obnoxiously by the manager, I will definitely not recommend this place to other people.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had a walk in closet. The bed was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Handy coffee maker and fridge were in the room. The view was great, the location was excellent.
- 5/5
Clean room , great staff, location
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly! suggested some nearby restaurants and upgraded our room.
- 3/5
lobby smelled like syrup , not pleasant when u first walk in for that scent .. rooms are very out dated , clean but could be cleaner, hot water took forever to get hot ... no onsite restaurant which is very inconconvenient when traveling
- 5/5
Loved the location! Hotel had great character. Rooms were large for the area and just lovely.
- 4/5
We had a great stay. Perfect location, spacious room and very clean. Only issue was there wasn’t a working outlet in the bathroom, which made it hard to dry our hair.
- 5/5
Clean room, convenient location, cordial staff
- 4/5
2 things: needed to drop off my luggage since we got there in the morning but check in was at 3. I couldn’t believe in order for them to hold on to your luggage that they would charge per luggage and only accepted cash! Secondly, we sometimes had to wait a long time for the elevator so we ended using the stairs more often to get to the lobby.
- 5/5
Just a great hotel in NYC. Great location and great staff.
- 5/5
Attractive spacious room with real glasses and a magazine. Wonderful breakfast at Murals. Can’t wait to sit at the bar, Randolph’s. Beautifully located on the corner of sixth Avenue and 54th St. only 10 blocks from Times Square. Lovely, helpful staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff and all the comforts you could want. It is my new hotel in NYC. close to Broadway theaters and Carnegie Hall.
- 5/5
FIVE STARS 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
- 5/5
The room was very nice. There was several things that need attention the 2 tables in room were stained. We had our room cleaned on Friday and pillow case was not change. It still makeup from roommate the night before. The bathroom was very very small. We couldn’t stand in front of sink, We couldn’t sit on toilet with door closed. You had to opening the main door just to opening shower door for a shower. We had to dry off in the entrance way of the room. I will be requesting not to be giving room 2409 on any other visit. The hotel was full so I didn’t request another room.
- 4/5
Loved location and staff. Property needs to upgrade to smart TV for movie apps and the dressers can be upgraded to higher quality than press wood. Dresser doors were broken. But we would stay again if there will be SMART TV available. Staff was extremely kind and helpful.
- 4/5
Good location. Very old, needs some upgrades, AC wasn’t working,
- 5/5
Great hotel and awesome location

Staff great, room ok, bathroom VERY small and poorly designed.
- 5/5
Staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Awesome location! The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and met our needs perfectly. We didn’t try the restaurant but it was packed everyday so I am assuming it was good.
- 1/5
Booked room with a view. Had to move due to construction material outside window. No offer to help move luggage to another room. Once in new room electrical outlets weren’t working and sink wouldn’t drain. In a good location but hotel was subpar and the service was terrible.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful!
- 5/5
Very comfortable stay. Bed and especially pillows perfect for great night sleep. Perfect location close proximity to everything we wanted to see. Highly recommend this hotel!

The staff was wonderful, the room was clean and spacious and the amenities were top notch. Plus, the location was perfect for us!
- 5/5
People in the bar weren’t overly friendly
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 5/5
We booked two beds but they offered us free early check in for one kind bed and a rollaway. That was fine but they never brought sheets for the rollaway despite us asking 3 times. The room was clean and spacious not very dry and the temperature would not adjust properly. There was sometimes a long line for the elevator. They charge $2 per bag to store it. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Location is fabulous. The facility fee is ridiculous but expected. It’s a very nice hotel with cool history.
- 2/5
They refused to check in anyone before 3pm, saying no rooms were ready, but they took all our info and said we had to wait 25 min to receive our keys. But at 3pm, they asked for our IDs again. The lobby was small and threre were not enough seats for everyone. It is hard to believe that no rooms were ready before 3pm. Most hotels let you check in as rooms are ready. When we got to our rooms, the safe was still locked from the previous guests. Also, No bathrobes were provided. Room was clean, large and pretty, although bathroom was very small, with minimal shelving space for cosmetics. To use the make up mirror you had to squeeze in next to the toilet. No tea bags in room, no coffee creamers.
- 5/5
Everything is great. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel - great service and wonderful renovated rooms.

Fast, easy and very kind staff!.. hotel is beautiful old school NYC. Huge room!
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and modern, with that vintage feel to the hotel that attracted me to it. Loved it had a doorman and a Concierge. One request is a new shower head! It was horrible. But It did not downgrade my experience in anyway. First time in NYC. Picked a great hotel.

- 4/5
Room was clean, nice but I had booked a suite with a sofa bed and it was just an old couch (no bed) with a cheap slip cover. Had to get a roll away which made the space very crowded.

- 4/5
We stayed there a number of years ago and love the location - the foyer/receiving area is very small - both the bar and restaurant do not open until late in the day which is very inconvenient - the room was clean and well appointed but small
- 4/5
Lovely hotel. One room Thermostat was not working and the room was super hot but they fixed it by opening a window.
- 5/5
Great hotel , our stay was amazing, just steps away from the parade, we loved the amenities and the friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff room comfort great location
- 5/5
Great place to stay with a location in the heart of midtown. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back.
- 4/5
Oatmeal was pure mush. Got the yogurt. It was fine.
- 4/5
Totally fine hotel, but def a bit on the older side and probably needs a refresh of interiors. Rooms could be modernized - needs more charging ports next to bed for example, had to unplug the clock.
- 5/5
Enjoyable stay in historic hotel. Great location & very nice bar.

Everything was pretty good. Nice big room perfectly situated for our needs. I think the only thing that I had an issue with is that every time we would go into the room it smelled like sewer. It subsided a little after you were in the room for a while but walking into the room and having it smell like sewer was not pleasant. And I know it’s New York City and there is probably not a lot to do about that! But in general, we had a very nice day at the Warwick. Thank you.

Clean rooms, great staff, we loved the entire stay!
- 5/5
My room was clean, I didn't hear any hallway noise in the evening and the staff was helpful and attentive.
- 5/5
Gorgeous property, excellent location, outstanding staff and attention to detail. You could not ask for a better hotel at this price point.
- 4/5
Staff was great. Room was clean. The TV remote was old and i had trouble changing the channel. For the money it costs to stay there, the electronics should be top of the line.
- 5/5
Great stay! Wonderful customer service and the perfect location!
- 5/5
Clean rooms, staff was very friendly. Great location and close to everything. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Great room and service . Excellent location and staff. Will definitely be back !
- 5/5
Our room was cleaned very well each day. Water bottles were also refilled. Umbrellas were available for the rain. It was all great.
- 5/5
Quiet room Clean
- 5/5
The staff was friendly, the rooms were very clean, and the location is fantastic. We would definitely stay there again! We had two rooms for our family of six. We weren’t able to get adjoining rooms, but we did get the side by side. The rooms got cleaned early each day. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
The hotel is in a great location and the room size was great. Since it’s an older hotel it’s starting to show its age and can use some updating. Overall it was fine for our purposes but definitely not a luxury hotel
- 5/5
Great hotel and location. Second time here and would stay again.
- 5/5
Cleaning room, friendly staffs!!!
- 4/5
Yes
- 3/5
Nice location, but it's an old hotel without any upgrades or amenities. No room service or toiletries, customer service of team members was average to unfriendly. Unremarkable in many ways for the price……won't be back.
- 4/5
Location is great, older property, xh
- 5/5
The room was comfy and clean. The shower pressure wasn’t the best but overall I always love staying at the Warwick.
- 3/5
Been staying at the Warwicksince
- 4/5
The scaffolding hadn’t come down yet. Not set for early holidays AC was turn off so had to open windows even though temp outside was 50’s the room was 77. Bathroom too small but location is amazing and staff is very friendly and they do their best. Randolph. Expensive drinks no food only peanuts and no room service.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Vintage, but in great condition. Perfect location
- 4/5
Overall I am happy to have stayed there, the other reviews are accurate, it is an older building and it does not look like the room we stayed in has ever been updated (including the shower curtain). So things look a little worn, but it has such a lovely old hollywood vibe and it is really cool to walk around and see the photos of the famous people that have stayed there.
- 5/5
Great staff, really helpful. Wonderful stay.
- 1/5
Construction right outside my window ! Woke me up and continued thru the day. By the time I got someone to acknowledge it it was late day and I was leaving next morning. They applied thru Hotels.com or they said Expedia ( a 4th party??) for one night refund. I don't know if I will ever see it! Will never book on this app again!
- 5/5
This was the perfect location to visit NYC. There is a friendly staff, clean rooms and old school charm. We loved staying there.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
nice comfortable room with a good city view
- 2/5
First we went to make coffee and noticed there was old water and mold in the coffee maker. I called down and told them and requested a new coffee maker. We never received it. The second issue was i paid for and requested a city view room. I got a view of a court yard where there were construction workers riding a lift by our room several times a day. The trip was to celebrate my engagement so that wasn't the most romantic view. I told the desk clerk at checkout about the issues. He apologized about the coffee maker and said I should have asked for a new room. His only remedy was to wave a facility fee that I had no.idea I was expected to pay. So the costumer service overall was very disappointing.
- 4/5
All good, except bathrooms are old. we and others had toilet issues, though they were quickly addresseed
- 4/5
The room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom was tight. Great hotel location.
- 3/5
No breakfast
- 5/5
Yes, the room was very clean, and the staff are courteous and professional. This is an older hotel, but it is well-maintained. We love the location!
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay! Thank Warwick for your hospitality, we will be rebooking!
- 5/5
Clean, great staff, convenient
- 3/5
Elevator was so ridiculously lou
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location.
- 5/5
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Warwick Hotel. It has the perfect location to catch a Broadway show, walk to Central Park, and visit so many sights.
- 5/5
Room was very nice, upgraded to a suite at check-in. Comfortable linens, good AC/heat. Very quiet. Upper room which proved handy during busy times as elevator filled up preventing lower floor guests from elevator rides.
- 5/5
Overall a lovely hotel. It’s old timey vibes are unique but the hotel is so well maintained & clean. Safe & convenient to Radio City & Rockefeller center areas
- 5/5
Excellent service, clean rooms, great location, two steps from Central Park, 30 min to LGA, couldn't ask for more.
- 3/5
Everything was wonderful, except for the fact that I had reserved a room with two beds and because of my flight delay and the hotel’s overbooking, I was left with one king bed with a traveling companion. Simply, I barely slept.
- 3/5
The elevators are a nightmare. Only 3 for the whole place, and each one only holds 6 people. but those 6 are in like sardines. They are basically for 3 people. Overpriced breakfast place, no dinner option. asked for hot water twice, still waiting for it.
- 5/5
Beautiful old hotel but felt new.
- 2/5
View of black brick wall 10 feet from all windows, small bathroom, several items needed maintenance or repair, ridiculous $29 per night facility fee, charge to check bags for an hour, no restaurant or room service.
- 5/5
Well located midtown hotel that is old but well maintained. Our room, with two double beds, was small but pretty standard sized for Manhattan. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and maintenance was fairly quick to respond to issues with a clogged sink and with the heating system. Unfortunately, we were told that despite a room thermostat, building heat was centrally controlled and the only way we could lower the room temperature was to open a window. Overall, we had a good stay at was one of the more “reasonably” priced midtown hotels.
- 4/5
Great Location but need of an upgrade
- 3/5
Room was very dated and furniture was worn out. Hotel should let people know the amount of work being done on the facade and how this materially impacts any views they charge a premium for.
- 5/5
Super service at a historic hotel
- 3/5
The room was dirty.
- 3/5
I don’t know

Greta room! Thank you.

Elevators weren't working and extremely slow. However, the staff did direct us to the service.Elevators that did work.We were excited about that.
- 4/5
Small elevator and charging $2 per bag to store while checking in is unacceptable
- 1/5
We stayed at the Warwick Hotel, and it was honestly one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had in New York. The hotel feels old and neglected — tiny elevators where you wait 10–15 minutes just to go down in the morning, worn-out rooms, different brands of bathroom products mixed together, and towels so small they looked like hand towels. Breakfast was another disappointment. We came at 10 a.m., got our table, and by 10:58 still hadn’t received our food. We’re a family with two kids — people have morning plans and schedules. If half of the staff didn’t show up, the restaurant should at least warn guests that service will be slow. We left hungry and frustrated. When I went to the front desk to explain the situation, the young man there — rude, arrogant, and without a name tag — didn’t even apologize. Instead, he said: “Yes, it’s your check-out time, you should leave in two minutes… but we can give you a little extra time.” I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, but I have never heard anything so cheap and unprofessional. Those “extra minutes” we didn’t even need — we were already ready to leave. I understand that sometimes people in customer service try to defend themselves, but in the hotel business, kindness, empathy, and basic respect for guests are everything. We left hungry, disappointed, and completely sure that we’ll never stay at the Warwick Hotel again.
- 5/5
I’ve enjoyed the Warwick for many years!
- 4/5
This is a lovely hotel, away from the noise of Times Square. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. However, be cautious regarding the room type. Although less expensive, the "Premier" rooms in this hotel look out onto a brick wall and have virtually no sunlight. Book a room with "City View" for a much more pleasant environment.
- 5/5
Need a light renovation
- 4/5
Staff was courteous. Room was ready late and not informed it was ready. Room type requested well in advance and confirmed 1 month prior and again 1 week prior was not granted. That said, a nice place and would try again
- 5/5
After walking around the city it’s nice to come back to a clean room and hotel. I had an issue with the drainage in the shower and it was fixed quickly without any issues. The large rooms are so comfortable. Always a favorite
- 5/5
Check in went smoothly and the needs of our group were anticipated. Receptionist was great and very helpful.
- 5/5
Clean and easy with every part of your stay
- 5/5
Good location and staff. No evening dining
- 5/5
Easy valet parking, excellent attentive door people, fast check in and check out. Beds very comfortable, great size room for NYC.
- 5/5
Well worn comfortable hotel in a great location. We had a large suite at a fair value. No view
- 5/5
Incredible stay at the Warwick. We booked a suite and it was just perfect. Central location, great staff and a really lovely hotel.
- 5/5
Great rooms
- 5/5
Very clean
- 1/5
I booked for the large room size but the room was terribly dated. My room was right next to the gym with loud noises starting at 6am. The view from one window was on to a roof with full construction happening. Very disappointing.
- 5/5
Room needs to be updated with some em amenities.
- 1/5
booked for 3 but when arrived they only offered a king bed and said room cannot usually accomodate 3 even though we paid for it
- 3/5
The first room air conditioner had leaked all over the carpet and resulted in my daughter’s duffel bag and contents getting soaked. Had to go buy her some new stuff to wear. The bathroom ceiling had some ? Mold spots or something. There was hair in the tub. Found it odd there was shower gel and conditioner but no shampoo in the bathroom. They moved us two days in and the new room was spacious but smelled like mildew, damp. Opened the shower door and an awful sewage smell came from it. The location was great and the staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean and quiet rooms. Close to Broadway, time square and Central Park. Beautiful area to visit.
- 4/5
It was not a city view. The rooms are large especially for NYC and the hotel is walking distance to both Central Park and Broadway. My only negatives are that 'upgraded' to a City view for an extra charge and our window looked right into the building. It's expensive compared to the old days but still a reasonably good value all things considered.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel in a great location. Very helpful staff, and a very good breakfast (though not included in the hotel price).
- 5/5
Very wonderful hotel and great location for walking to Central Park or picking up subways
- 3/5
Elevators always crowded and super slow. A/C did not work well and was noisy. Housekeeping failed to replace some towels. I would call this more 3 star at 4 star prices. At least they provided free umbrellas.
- 5/5
The hotel , even though close to Times Square, was nice and quiet. I had a great night sleep. Bed and pillows were comfortable, room was nicely decorated, small room, but very nice. The doorman was always dressed nicely, always stsnding outside the entrance snd opened the door, would call you a car if needed and give you directions.
- 1/5
I made my reservation for a “room with a view” and didn’t get any view. The first room I was assigned had plastic on the window blocking any view. I complained and was moved to a different room the day after. To my surprise, the second room didn’t have a view either. Apparently hotel is undergoing having some work donde outside so make sure you call before making reservation for any “VIEW”. They’re completely booked so any changes are imposible.

Classic, lovely, clean.
- 5/5
Clean room/reasonable priced in a great part of town. Staff were very friendly. I’d come back
- 4/5
Clean, nice staff, older but still pretty well kept and larger rooms for nyc.
- 5/5
Very elegant hotel near Central Park with friendly staff! Thank you Warwick for the very comfortable stay.
- 4/5
The hotel was under some construction during our stay. The beds were hard and small.
- 3/5
renovation Its old and tired
- 5/5
Didn’t eat at the hotel
- 4/5
Great location and lovely staff! This is my third visit to the Warwick....reliably very good!
- 4/5
Everything was great till I checked out early to find that they charge for bag check!
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
The hotel staff was wonderful and the property was updated and comfortable. Very central to so many things.
- 5/5
Wonderful old historic hotel that didn't cave to the modern day version of class or design. I love the fact that it still has it's historic charm with a modern sense of service and amenities. Well done Warwick. See you again in the not so distant future.
- 5/5
I was in the city for less than 24 hours and barely spent any time at the hotel, but my room was huge by NYC hotel standards, the staff was helpful, and I was able to walk everywhere.
- 4/5
the room was clean and great bedding experience but the hotel is old and would nbeed a clear refurbishment. The details of the hotel look really different on hotels.com, so a little bit disappointed.
- 3/5
They charge for luggage storage and early check-in.
- 3/5
After almost 10 years visiting the Warwick this may have been my last trip. It’s tired and there seems to be very little attention to detail. The rooms were disheveled, the service was detached and second rate. Definitely not the Warwick I remember so fondly.
- 5/5
Fantastic location - within 10 minutes walk of Times Square, Broadway and Radio City Music Hall. Room was larger than we expected and the bed was divinely comfortable. Very cool art deco decor and retro elevators that maintained the original charm but were reliable and stable. Added bonus: air conditioning and water pressure in the room were top-notch. A bit pricier than where we would normally opt to stay but a flawless experience.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and amazing. We were traveling with our daughter who uses a wheelchair and the hotel was very accommodating to her needs. When we go to NYC we always stay at the Warwick!
