The hotel's location in Chinatown is highly praised by guests, with easy access to subway stations and local attractions. However, the room size is consistently criticized as being too small, and some guests have issues with the cleanliness and amenities provided.

Location. Cleanliness. Price was decent. Beds could be a little bigger (but the rooms are on smaller size like old college dorms) and perhaps updated. Ours was a little more saggy on the left side. But the bathrooms were super clean and nearby. Never had to wait for one and they were independent.

It didn't have a mirror in the room. Maybe consider adding a mirror in the room.

I loved that it was right at the heart of Chinatown, perfect for an authentic take on NYC life Not that it didn't like, more so it's just a fyi. Our room had a window, and it gave us some fresh air, you aren't in control of the AC, so be understanding that you are at the mercy of the host, our 4th night was hot. Another thing to not is that the window has no sound insulation nor do the walls, so be prepared to hear your neighbors and frequent banter and sirens from the street

Location was great, next to multiple subway stations, walking distance to many sights, generally very clean especially the shared bathrooms, room was all you need for somewhere like NYC and still felt comfortable despite being small, very quiet spot considering it's New York, very responsive staff. No elevator if you have heavy luggage.

I don't think there was anything to like about that hotel or room, although, the location seems quite convenient. I chose because reviews seem ok only to figure out it was too good to be true. Not recommended. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this stay was genuinely disappointing. The “double room” felt more like a 6x4 grave than an actual room, cramped, claustrophobic, and completely misrepresented in the listing. There was barely any space to move, let alone stay comfortably for a night. And don't get me started on the bed, sheets, and mattress. Cleanliness was also a major issue. The property felt neglected, with mops and cleaning equipment just lying around in plain sight, which only added to the overall unclean and unprofessional atmosphere. To make matters worse, the staff were unhelpful and came across as quite rude when we raised concerns. There was no effort to resolve anything or even acknowledge the issues properly. Overall, this place did not meet even basic expectations. I would strongly recommend avoiding it and looking elsewhere. I asked to be checked out as refused to accept the room as soon as I figured that I can't even breath inside leave alone sleep on that bed, the staff refused to process cancellation or refund. Not a great experience, even booking dot com didn't help.

Great location. Not worth it. Bare minimum room. Air matress, desk. That’s room. Bathroom and window are extra. Inconsistent security, standards and overall reliability. Guy at the desk is polite and close to helpful. Woman at the desk will deny access and gives poor and incoherent information. Also make vague accusations. Explicitly expresses disinterest in talking after a serious accusation which was the result of a child having access to my room. Basically the hotel is shared bathrooms unless you pay for private bathroom. I noticed random footware and clothing under my bed. Figured somone abandoned them until I was woken up by a kid unlocking my door and using my bathroom like it was normal behavior. He had a copy of my room key because “his father works here” I tried to kindly explain why you can’t just do that especially because 1. I paid for privacy. 2. Door was locked and had DO NOT DISTURB ON. Regardless how he git them, a child strolling through rooms with keys is terrible security. I calmly let them know. They said it never happened, lied about checking security cameras. I was willing to Ignore this. I was later accused of leaving the random stuff in the room and causing “trouble” ??? I believe the woman was confusing me for someone else but long story short this placr will mess your day up and disrespect you when they mess up. Clearly they dont clean regularly either. Overall nonsense and gaslighting when all you want is a bed. The bed is air mattress by the way

The sheets and duvet cover were very wrinkled, and there were even hairs when I lifted the blanket. I was woken up in the middle of the night by loud noise. The soundproofing is terrible—I can hear everything from the neighboring rooms and even upstairs and downstairs. It literally feels like I’m on a ship. This is honestly driving me crazy.

The bathroom seemed fairly clean, but I didn’t take a shower, so I can’t comment much. The location is very convenient—that’s the only upside. The soundproofing is terrible—I can hear everything from the neighboring rooms and even upstairs and downstairs. It literally feels like I’m on a ship. This is honestly driving me crazy.

This was an experiment in a shared bathroom and it was fine, we had no concerns about the bathroom. I know the management cleaned the bathrooms often. Easy to get hot water. Shampoo/body wash was provided. We stayed in the Standard Double. It was fine just traveling with a back pack. Having a lot of luggage would have been more stressful. The bed was pretty comfortable. Staff at the desk were pleasant. No towels, hand towels or wash cloths, even upon request. I would have brought a towel if it was in the description that towels are not provided. I looked before writing this review and the hotel description says that towels are included. I understand not having hand towels in the shared bathrooms, but paper towels or a hand dryer should be available. We were in a room with no window, which was expected, but the room did get warm overnight and there was not anything to do about it. Although the management cleaned often, other guests left remnants of their time in the bathroom. I blame this wholly on the other guests. We didn't need it, but there are no TV's in the rooms. Just read the descriptions carefully.

I booked a room with a private bathroom, and it was honestly much nicer than I was expecting. Hardwood floors, and a big window with an iron bedframe and a down comforter with soft linens. The room was cleaned well and felt welcoming. There was always staff at the front desk and as I was traveling alone, it made me feel safe. I will plan to stay here again. The next time I go to the city.

Just the most perfect location with the most perfect staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more especially when you’re just looking for a place to sleep after a long day of sightseeing. Great location to come back to easily and unload before going to the next spot.

They kept the entire place quite clean all the time, which was really appreciated. Bed was comfortable and showers were absolutely amazing! The walls were really thin and you could hear every other guest that was surrounding you. The room was very small and there was not a great air flow.

It was very open and felt bigger inside Somewhat hard to find but once you see the brown marble it’s very noticeable

The room was perfect for what I was looking for. I wanted to be near everything I was looking to do in New York and this room was perfect for that! The room was way too hot! Slept with my windows open so I didn’t cook
- 3/5
The room is exactly as small as it looks. The bathrooms could have been cleaned a little more often. The floors were frequently wet from people showering. I would also bring a small hand towel to use when brushing teeth and drying hands after washing.
- 4.5/5
Location, simplicity of the facilities and just overall cleanliness. Not to mention the security of it. It's very safe and that's very important to me as a solo female traveler. Nothing ! Nothing I dislike about this place. I've stayed here two times already and nothing bad to say about it.
- 2.5/5
The room was very cheap, we were able to check in early, and leave our luggage there for several hours after we checked out. Walls don't block sound well. We had a guy staying in the room next to us who never slept and would talk to himself all night. Topics ranged from Joseph Stalin, to treason, to feces, to Richard Nixon, to necrophilia. There was also a night where he would open and shut his door at 30 second intervals for the entire night.
- 3.5/5
Location was great, we loved going through the city and coming to chinatown at the end of the night and walking around before heading to the room. The area has so many great stores and places to eat, and is close to a lot of other areas. Also, the bathrooms exceeded my expectations. They were pretty nice and towels were provided. The bedrooms are pretty stuffy since there's no windows. I wish there was a fan or ventilation or anything to help the air. That part was rough as we woke up a lot during the night because of it.
- 5/5
The location: Bowery, (next to my the Moxy, but less expensive...) Also, it was available on the same day, very last minute the sound of the air conditioning
- 4/5
Easy to check in and out, central location, and bathrooms with a shower that locks vs dorm styled showers. Clean room and bed. No windows, but that just made it feel very cozy. Very warm and stuffy in our room, as it was the third floor. Very thin doors (but not walls) and as we were right outside the bathrooms, possible to hear others go in and out of them while we were trying to sleep.
