Reviews
The Truss Hotel receives mixed reviews, with guests appreciating its convenient location near public transportation and Times Square, as well as its friendly staff. However, several guests have complained about the noise, dirty rooms, and poor condition of the facilities. The rooftop terrace is a highlight for many guests.
- Convenient location near public transportation and Times Square
- Friendly staff
- Noise from neighboring rooms and outside
- Dirty rooms and poor condition of facilities

Рядом 7 avenue, every day happy. Около 25 минут до центрального парка, 15 минут до 5 avenue. Чисто, приветливый персонал.
- 5/5
The parking attendant assisted us with our luggage. Luz at the front desk recommended the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at. Friendly, helpful front desk. Excellent location
- 3/5
Very worn out facility. The advertising was incorrect about a roof top bar with a view. This USED to be offered via an adjacent hotel, but is no longer in operation.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room. Staff was helpful.
- 4/5
It was clean and good sized room. The bed was comfortable. The only thing is that if you arrive before 4pm, and need to store your luggage at the hotel, it’s $2 a piece.
- 4/5
No me gustó ruido en la noche alas 3 mañana por una construcción y movimiento muebles piso 4
- 2/5
No hot water both days. Shower wa moldy. Desk was filthy. Floor was dirty as well. When we told the front desk all they said was no one else complaint Ed. Very dismissive
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, staff is nice, but you are in noisy location. A little hard to find, since not a big hotel sign. No coffee pot, but you can ask for one.
- 4/5
Everything was great!
- 4/5
No onsite parking available. The site made it seem like it was available.
- 3/5
While it is true that the hotel is modern and near Times Square, the place lacked customer's service when it comes to amenities. The A/C makes a loud 'banging' like sound every few minutes which startles my sleep in the middle of the night. The TV and telephone were not working hence the need to ask assitance from the staff who said a technician would come the next day to address it— which never happened. Nonetheless, the staff remained friendly throughout our visit. The wifi was somehow strong, able to provide our web needs during the stay. Although at some point in the middle of the night, there are disturbing sounds across the neighboring rooms (not the hotel fault though). Still a nice hotel to stay in as the room is spacious and the beds are big.
- 4/5
Jess at the front was super cool. Very personable! Cleanliness of the room could be improved. But wasn’t horrible.
- 3/5
Good area with proximity to Times Square and central park. Room could be a little cleaner. Staff was nice and helpful
- 3/5
The staff were quite polite and helpful but the Ac on the 1st night did not work and we were given the wrong room type. Things settled after night 2 although the bathrooms extracter fan was nit functional and bathroom door kept sticking . Overall however a decent location and hotel. Staff are definitely highlight.

Excelente servicio
- 3/5
Staff was amazing. Very helpful
- 3/5
Cons: run-down, poorly maintained, sketchy on cleanliness Will not be staying here again.
- 5/5
Nice room
- 4/5
Love the location- not too far of a walk to Times Square nor the bus station by midtown, and Penn Station. It wasn’t check in time for me but I was able to use the bathroom, cool down and leave my luggage behind to wait on my room being available. It was a little noisy just before midnight but understandable since we too just came back from a concert close to the Knicks game as well. Bed was stiff to my liking- but there were two types of pillow: soft and firm.. We did notice the AC- there was leakage on the floor where it’s at. Stay was great for a night! Upon check out, I felt like whoever it was this morning was rude, with an attitude. I was asking for a receipt but the woman kept saying I didn’t need it since the stay was booked through a third party- but I did put my card on file for the security deposit with the hotel. Understandable that my deposit will be refunded but I was still able to get receipts of my stays at other hotels prior.
- 3/5
The front desk staff was amazing but the room itself can use major renovations. The owners need to do better. We purchased a pair of sandals from the store the wear in the shower. Speaks volumes. Overall, if you’re looking for a quick place to stay maybe for a night or two, which is what we were doing, it’s okay but I’d honestly avoid this place if you’re use to a certain standard.
- 2/5
When arriving in our room the overall look was pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. After looking around I didn’t feel the room was very clean. I felt like I needed shower shoes to take a shower. The real problem was that there a a fairly loud water squeaking noise that happened every 3 to 4 minutes and went on all night long. Sleeping was nearly impossible since I’m a lighter sleeper. The street noise was very loud on evening.
- 4/5
Our biggest surprise was discovering that the bar downstairs turns into what can only be described as an all-night dance party. The music was so loud it literally shook the building, making it feel less like a hotel stay and more like we had accidentally booked a room inside a rave. If you’re planning to stay out late and join the party, you’ll probably love it. If you’re hoping to sleep, bring earplugs and get ready to lose sleep it’s that loud. Aside from the nightclub-level soundtrack, we enjoyed our stay.
- 1/5
We had no hot water for the duration of our stay.
- 4/5
The location was perfect. It was central to everything that we wanted to do. The hotel served its purpose and was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. Property location is great. Cleanliness could be improved a little. Overall a good experience.
- 1/5
I would never stay here again. The pipes whistled and it was very loud. I could not sleep. The shower floor was not appealing and just needs a whole new floor. I put a towel down in the shower to stand on in order to feel somewhat comfortable Paint chips and really old furniture and bed. It was just bad.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable but could have used black out curtains as the light from the nearby construction site were very bright. The room could have used a table or small desk. Otherwise the room was clean and housekeeping did a great job everyday. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Also no coffee machine in room . The room was clean and spacious for nyc standards. It was also close by major attractions
- 4/5
We thought Truss was perfect for our 2 night stay. Clean, comfortable and the person that checked us in was absolutely amazing. Truss is in a perfect location with lots of bars and restaurants around it and walkable to Broadway shows. The only wish we had was for a coffeemaker in the room!
- 5/5
Las instalaciones están limpias y ordenadas. Lo recomiendo. Está muy bien ubicado.
- 5/5
Great location, nice large rooms
- 4/5
- 3/5
The only thing I didn’t like was I had to pay an additional 175 after paying for the hotel already, they said I would get that back but haven’t that’s all.
- 5/5
Muy buena ubicación y la cama súper cómoda, el staff muy agradable y amable . El hotel pobre y descuidado
- 5/5
Great spot, no complaints. Everything was fine.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff very friendly and welcoming! Convenient if spending time in timeshare and affordable!
- 4/5
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
The room was clean and functional with a fridge, microwave and hard flooring and the bathroom was spacious. The room and bathroom are much more spacious than most NYC hotels in the same price range /neighborhood. Tons of restaurants nearby, and Javits, Broadway, Penn Station, Port Authority are all a convenient walk away. Courteous staff and no surprise funk fees.
- 5/5
Muy bien todo
- 5/5
Yes no tumoch hot water
- 4/5
Clean room/roof top
- 2/5
The staff was friendly and the location was convenient (though it is less Times Square area and more Hell’s Kitchen). Outside of those two things, I would not recommend staying here. Our showers were barely luke warm and, yes, we turned the knob all the way to the left as recommended. Our phone in our room did not work, the water pressure in the sink was very low, and there was no safe. The beds were okay, but nothing to write home about. It was clean enough, but you can tell the furniture and bedding have seen better days. I am not sure how this is considered a 4 star hotel. I personally would not stay here again.
- 4/5
The best thing about staying at the Truss is Jessy. She is an absolutely delight! She made us feel so welcome, had excellent recommendations, and was very intentional about making our stay the best it could be. When we return in the future, we will stay at the Truss simply because of the phenomenal service Jessy provided. The hotel itself is very minimalist. There aren't any amenities such as a pool or fitness room. The rooms are few in number and small in size, but if you are going to NYC to experience the city, that's fine because you aren't going to spend much time in your room anyways. The decor is modern and updates have been made. The bed was decent, the TV worked well, there was a nice walk-in shower, and the AC worked - that's all we needed and we were perfectly happy. Given it's location, the stellar customer service, and affordability we will definitely stay here again in the future.
- 1/5
Everything is not good …..
- 5/5
I will definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
Basic amenities like air-conditioning and outlets were not working throughout my stay
- 5/5
clean room to stay at , great air conditioning , the prices are very affordable i recommend traveling and staying here any time
- 5/5
Great proximity to Madison Square Garden, friendly check-in, no issues at all!
- 5/5
Great stay, fair prices and good location.
- 3/5
Very minimal decor in this hotel, so expect a clean room with a comfortable bed and little else. Ask for a room not facing the street, as 9th Ave. is insanely noisy overnight (hotel staff kindly assigned me a different room for my second night); otherwise, bring earplugs. We also had a problem with our bathroom door which, once closed, wouldn’t open from the inside; luckily one of us could open it from the outside. I don’t think I’ll be booking this hotel again.
- 0.5/5
Absolutely nothing. The pictures couldn’t be more misleading. It had moldy ceilings, it was rundown, the rooms were disgusting. There was hair everywhere and unidentified fluids on the ground.
- 5/5
The staff is fantastic and welcoming. The location is central and a close walk to everything.
- 5/5
Quaint and cozy. All you need. Close enough to walk to many points of interest. Parking nearby.
- 5/5
This is about a 5-10 min walk to Times Sq. Great if you don't want to be directly in all the TS noise but close enough to get there quick. The hotel is on 39th St. Convenient if you are tired and want to take the bus or train back along 42nd st and then just walk two blocks to the hotel. Super clean rooms. Had two. Bigger than most nyc rooms for sure. Bathroom is wide but narrow, still bigger than some older hotel bathrooms. About 10 min walk to the beginning of the High Line walk. Bagel spots, coffee spots, liquor store, quick bite to eat spots all a block or two away. Staff was really cool. All were friendly on any given day. Can't hear anything in neighboring rooms. Like any NYC hotel, could still hear a little bit of the traffic sounds outside but with the window closed, barely could hear. I'd stay here again if I wanted to be in that region. I found it convenient being close enough to Times Square, quick train rides to Central Park, the museums, Chelsea, SoHo.
- 5/5
Nothing fancy and limited amenities,, but very clean, good size rooms, incredibly friendly, helpful staff and great location for theater going. Would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
Wonderful staff, rooms just weren’t finished to the highest quality. The window wasn’t clean, there was unfinished/poorly finished painting and shower in the bathroom etc. not many amenities but nevertheless a VERY comfy bed and nice main room/tv. It did great for our trip!
- 5/5
The room was pretty big in comparison to other hotels we have stayed at in the area in the past. Great location. They even had afridge and mucriwave in the room. The only thing they didn't have was coffee in the room, which was very unusual. And no breakfast. But neither of these things bothered us. We had a great stay and will return. It was just right for a 2night stay.
- 5/5
The staff was so nice and helpful
- 2/5
Bugs in my shower, outlet didn’t work, everything else solid
- 5/5
Romney was clean and spacious.. staff super friendly.. food in area amazing… close to everything
- 5/5
Great location for us! Clean room and helpful staff!
- 5/5
Staff was great. Would come back!
- 5/5
The room was extremely clean and quiet. Only heard a door close in the hallways a couple of times, but complete silence otherwise! Rooms were clean and tidy. And overall it’s an amazing walking distance to Times Square!
- 4/5
Controllable central AC was nice, water pressure was excellent, staff was very helpful in getting us more towels, soap, ice, etc. Rooms could use a bit more of an occasional deep clean, dusting in the bathroom and room, black mold in the shower, lime build up in the shower, etc. Also I wish elevators required key card use, and if the lobby locking main doors at night for safety. But overall a nice stay! Would stay here again if the price was right.
- 5/5
Great location. Walking distance to everything. Room was clean. Ac worked quickly. Great overall
- 4/5
The room was simple, I like that it had a microwave and a mini fridge. Wish it had a coffee maker. The bathroom could use some updating, specifically the shower - tiles. The water pressure was kind of intense but you get used to it. I like that the hot water is actually hot. The front desk woman was so friendly and hospitable. I don’t reminder her name but she was there in the afternoon. I think I’d stay there again, good location.
- 1/5
The TV never worked , the phone too... and the lights were turning on couple times through the night
- 2/5
The housekeeping was great, no complaints. I’d probably stay here again if it weren’t for being told at checkout that leaving luggage would be $10, cash only. If I’d been told that in advance, or if there were a sign and a QR code I wouldn’t have a problem and would have gotten cash out. We asked to put the charge on the room and the check out person said we could bring the cash back. The whole thing was reading sleazy and at that point I didn't want to leave anything with her so we (happily) paid more money to leave luggage at a souvenir store. Will never go back and it’s mostly for that check out experience. I’ve stayed at Pod and Row happily and recommend them for family-friendly places near theaters.
- 5/5
mini fridge and microwave but no coffee maker. It’s a solid choice for a hotel since who visits NYC to hang out in their hotel!!
- 3/5
Hallways and room had a prison vibe grey walls no art on walls pillows smelled like head sweat bought a couple pillows at target cause I wasn’t using theirs, on the good side location was good for my plans would I stay here again not of I can help it
- 2/5
No hot water at night time, plan accondingly.
- 3/5
The location is great, but the street noise is pretty loud and the soundproofing isn’t good.
- 5/5
Truss is my go-to whenever I come to Manhattan. The staff are awesome, the location is ideal, the place is always clean and well-tended. I couldn't recommend them more.
- 3/5
Hot water runs out fast on the weekends.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing but the rooms were definitely on the small side and not the cleanest. The shower only ran very cold or scalding hot the first day and only cold the second day (no matter what we tried or how long we let it "warm up"). The window in our room did not lock at all... it would barely latch.
- 1/5
I’ll return to writing more in depth. But this property is not only old and not kept well, the water isn’t clean, there were so many things not working in the room, WiFi was not working, tv super old and no streaming options, no window to get natural lighting, constant noises from walls throughout the night, staff unhelpful, water smelling weird and more. I had 2 separate reservations and after my last night in my first reservation, I cancelled and booked elsewhere so I can enjoy the rest of my stay in the city. Never staying here again
- 1/5
I am very disappointed with this hotel. I booked a room with a city view, but it felt like I was given the worst room in the entire hotel, even though many rooms seemed to be available. My room was in the corner with a view of the roof and HVAC equipment — basically the worst possible view. It definitely did not match what I paid for. The heater was also very noisy and was blowing directly into my face. The only way to make it stop was to turn it off, but then the room became stuffy and uncomfortable. Additionally, I had to pay an extra fee for my 4-year-old child, which made the experience even more frustrating. I also asked about early check-in at 11 AM and was told it would cost an extra $100, while after 1 PM it could be free if a room was available. However, when we arrived around 4:00 PM, we were told to wait, while other guests who arrived after us were checked in first and received their room keys right away. We had arrived earlier but were still left waiting. I did not understand this treatment at all — it felt unfair and unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
First time staying at The Truss Hotel will be back again soon! Staff was so helpful and friendly not to mention it’s located near the heart of nyc, everything within walking distance !
- 3.5/5
Not too far from main attractions. Many were in walkable distance. Staff were nice, polite and helpful! Location, at night was a bit sketchy.
- 3/5
The shower had mold and was not totally clean. The lady at the front desk was rude. The room could have been cleaner and more maintained. For example, there was no curtain hanging in the room over the window. Looks like they got pulled out, and all that was left was the pole.
- 3/5
Great location, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, appreciate the iron and ironing board The floors were very dirty. You could see peoples dirty bare footprints all over the floor. It also looked like it hadn’t been swept as there was a lot of dirt and dust on the floor.
- 3/5
The location of the hotel was great - right near the Theater District. The front desk person was wonderful! The rooms are very basic, they could do with a bit of recaulking around the shower and bathroom counters. The electric socket in the bathroom did not work and the shower drain was extremely sluggish. The TV was only cable and very spotty reception. No coffee maker in the room or in the lobby, but the room did have a microwave and refrigerator. Seeing as that we spent almost no time in the room but spent our day exploring the city, it served our purposes quite well.
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable and the staff super kind and helpful!
- 2/5
The staff were perfectly friendly, but we approached them about these issues after our first night, and despite claims that an engineer would get things sorted, nothing had changed by the time we returned in the evening for our second night (by which time it was very late, and we didn’t want to make things tricky for our two small children by trying to move rooms at that time). Whilst we appreciate it’s priced as a value hotel for the area, we would still expect these basic amenities to be in working order.
- 3/5
There were a few problems on the first night but they got it fixed. In Our 2nd room there were some AC problems, they did their best to rectify the problem but it did not help
- 5/5
Staff were great, really attentive.
- 4/5
Spacious by NYC standards.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Our stay in NYC was really good because of this hotel. Im not really a person who’s full on on what the hotel has (amenities-wise) because at the end of the day, it’s just a place where I will be sleeping in after 20k+ steps in the city. What really matters to me is the experience and I could definitely say that the staff are very hands-on and accommodating! I couldn’t stress that enough! Every single one of the staff has been nothing but great! Special mention to Jessie who has been fabulously amazing at her job! I didn’t get the other’s names but like what I said everybody is fantastic! We will definitely recommend and come back!
- 1/5
Upon review of our room we noticed it was very dirty. Hair all over the bathroom. The shower had hair and a large amount of mold. Open soap on counter. After calling the front desk to express my concerns, they switched our room. The following morning when getting ready for our day the toilet was clogged. We requested it me plunged. We plunged it. It started spewing sewage water from the bottom back wall of the toilet. At this point I’m disgusted. I call and make them aware of the events. We used all our towels to soak up the toilet water. Maintenance person arrived liked flushed the toilet a few times and said it’s seems to be ok now. Not one time did they offer to clean the bathroom after it had sewage water all over the floor. They just brought us new towels. I called the front desk and requested a manager who wasn’t in at the time. At this point I wanted to leave this establishment all together. I requested a refund for my stay and was in the process of looking for another place to stay. I was denied a refund and offered another room transfer. This would make 3! I paid over $600 for two nights! The staff was less then concerned about anything and very nonchalant about everything. Made we wait to speak to a manager over 15 mins after I expressed we had brunch reservations for my sons birthday!! Totally disgusted with this place.
- 5/5
Great location and very nice staff!
- 4/5
there was no hot water one morning but issue was quickly fixed
- 5/5
The room was great the only thing I wish is that we could’ve played Netflix on the tv instead of the cable
- 4/5
The room was a fantastic size. We didn’t have a view at all just a wall but we didn’t spend much time at all in the room so didn’t bother us. The beds were really comfy, the bathroom was a little run down. Shower amazing though. We didn’t have a safe in our room on arrival so asked at Reception. This did arrive on our second evening but we had to carry all our valuables around for the first 2 days which wasn’t great. It’s in a great location and close to Penn Street station and Times Square. There was a fridge, microwave, iron and hairdryer. We also asked for fresh towels and this wasn’t a problem at all. The cleanliness and location sell it for us
- 3/5
rooms are weird, parking is not so great
- 4/5
My only meaningful feedback is that the pipes moan and whale all day and night, at a volume that makes it extremely difficult to sleep. I’m not sure if this was just the room that we were in, but it was quite offputting. In addition, there are two temperatures for the shower: third-degree burns and ice cold. Despite those issues, this hotel provided us with exactly the type of accommodation we needed for the reason we were in town, and if I were in town for a quick turnaround or one night only and needed to be in this neighborhood again, I would gladly stay here again.
- 4/5
No complaints
- 5/5
Rooms are big for NYC. Staff was fantastic. Highly recommend.
- 4/5
Room was functional and clean but dated. Noisy next to road. Gym was ok but some equipment broken and not usable and very hot in there with just one fan. Was a good location though.
- 5/5
it's a truly NYC living experience, the room is neat and tidy, water pressure, hot water was great, location is on point gor laundromat 3 doors down and places to eat nearby. the gym is 24hrs, got everything that you need for a workout on holiday tbh nothing, I know the hotel looks bit old but it's clean and exceeds my expectation
- 4/5
Was a decent hotel to stay in where you can find all the good places
- 2/5
This hotel is in a state of disrepair. In my opinion, they barely meet the basic standards of a hotel. The owner of this establishment should seriously consider a complete renovation, as it has an excellent location. On a side note, some of the advertised amenities are simply not available!
- 2/5
Staff was nice but the hotel is run down and cleanliness was average. Our room literally had a window that could have opened into the restaurant next door. There was seating so close we could have eaten with them. Our first night there was a loud party and the desk clerk said they’d be done by 10 or 11. We couldn’t be moved and I had an early morning appointment so need to get some sleep. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff. Very central for walking around in the city and enjoy day and night life.
- 3/5
Somewhat dated common areas - elevator and corridors were very dark. No communal area in the lobby. TV channel selection very limited. Great location, lots of restaurants and shops nearby, subway close by.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 4/5
Great location. Relatively basic but clean. Great place to rest your weary head in mid-town.
- 2/5
Location is very good. Train station, Javits Center, Times Square are all close by. Hotel is dated, and staff are not very friendly. No hot water for two nights with no concession except empty promises. Was only able to get them to hold our bags for free on the last day and that was not without push back from the front desk staff. We were there for a volleyball tournament otherwise I would have stayed at a chain hotel.
- 5/5
Yes there were plenty of nice restaurants and great massages nearby. Safe parking walking distance.
- 5/5
Room was cleaned daily, bed was on of the most comfortable I’ve ever stayed in. All round fantastic hotel.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice and accommodating the hotel is very simple but cute and was the perfect place for us to stay for our business trip to NYC!
- 5/5
The beds were comfy
- 5/5
It was so nice to be in this hotel.
- 4/5
The staff were wonderful, very friendly.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, and room was clean . Very convenient location .
- 5/5
Perfect location, great price and staff
- 4/5
The room was nice
- 5/5
The room is generously big, very relaxed yet central location , excellent ambiance Really nothing : )
- 1/5
The service is great, the employees are helpful and polite. But the room was dirty and that annoyed me a lot!
- 3/5
Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel was more on the rustic side. Issues wit heat not working for several hours and issue with water in bathroom.
- 2/5
The ac compressor was very loud, couldn’t sleep. Hair was found in the bathtub and towel.
- 4/5
Great location, staff were lovely!
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Location was great! Just few blocks form MSQ and Times Square Maybe due to winter, some pipes were noisy during the night but nothing to crazy
- 5/5
Our stay at the Truss hotel was absolutely extraordinary!! I’m from FL so I know about Disney hotels and hotels on I-Drive but this stay was second to none. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our flight was canceled due to the blizzard and they helped us in any way they could. More specifically shout out to the Miss in front desk Jessy. She was an angel and with all my years in customer service her service was so amazing words can’t even describe.
- 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised by the great location and comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. Short walking distance to train stations and Times Square. Front desk was gracious and helpful.
- 3/5
Convenient location for seeing a lot of what NYC offers. However the rooms were dingy and definitely in need of repair. The shower was filled with limescale and I wore my sandals to shower each day. Beds were comfortable enough and staff was friendly. But I would not recommend a solo female traveller.
- 5/5
Staff was very easy to work with and helpful. Room was large for NYC!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, affordable room, and luggage check!
- 5/5
I have stayed at the Truss hotel for two trips now and have had a great experience both times. The staff is friendly, and the property is well maintained.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful and extremely helpful
- 5/5
Jessie and Rose are amazing! They helped us get situated and were very helpful and provided excellent service! Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely will book here again for future stays!
- 4/5
The staff was really friendly and the room was clean. This is not the fanciest hotel by Times Square but for the price it is right close to Broadway and public transit to get other places and was just fine. My only small gripe is they put us in a room with a connecting window to a restaurant which was open a bit late and was noisy. It ended up not being as bad as I expected but beware of room 203.
- 4/5
Front desk was excellent room was clean but very basic and could do with a refurb
- 5/5
Bagel shop across the street was really good.
- 5/5
The bed was so comfy and the staff was really nice. Deli cross the street was amazing. Nothing much
- 4/5
The room was clean and cool (over looking 9th ave). The location was very convenient to all the things we had planned
- 5/5
Nice room and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Very nice staff. Very clean
- 2/5
No hot water
- 4/5
clean room - needed some maintenance. nice staff. close to convention center and restaurants. no coffee machine or food services in hotel
- 2/5
Overall the hotel was clean, the rooms were quite large and had all the amenities. We were very pleased with the hotel. The issue was that we didn’t have hot water for our entire stay, which was 3 nights. I spoke to the front desk each day and they said an engineer was coming and we should let the water run 10 min. We let it run everyday to no avail. Unfortunately that is a major complaint and we do not plan on staying there again.
- 5/5
Front desk person was welcoming. Rooms were decent size and clean. Hotel was quiet.
- 5/5
Really convenient location, small but decent gym space, staff were courteous and professional.
- 4/5
Yes
- 4/5
All good.
- 5/5
Room was always clean everytime we came back and very friendly staff.
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. The rooms weren’t fancy but they were clean and quiet. I loved the fridge and the microwave. I would have liked to have a coffee maker in the room and I never did come across an ice machine.
- 4/5
Staff friendly - clean hotel although a bit tired
- 4/5
Room was clean but very rundown, as was the whole hotel in general. The highlights included the great service, the room size and the location. Our family of 4 had a two bedroom suite with one and a half baths. Overall would consider the hotel again for future stays.
- 3/5
Parking is off site . Snow was blocking curbing so climbing over snow bank with luggage was difficult. Only one luggage trolley for whole hotel. No help is avaliable. So unpack car climb over frozen snow bank leave luggage in lobby then go find parking . Walk back to hotel and make 2 trips to 5th floor room with luggage. Only one elevator working and one trolly was is use . I guess the bright side is no one to tip.
- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
I didn't love staying here. It was clean, the bed was comfy, and the water was hot, but there were no windows. Or, rather, there were windows but they were blocked off. Next door to my room was some sort of night club that started playing music around happy hour until (thankfully not all night) 10 or 11 pm. I found myself wishing I would have just paid more for a better hotel in a different location.
- 5/5
Front desk staff, attendants, cleaners are all soooo nice. This is a no frills NYC hotel but with a nice upgrade. Clean rooms and nice people. Second time staying here and will stay again. Thank you Truss.
- 3/5
The cleaning staff left their used gloves and some type of cleaning concoction in a water bottle inside our room. Glad we didnt have any kids who would have mistakenly thought it was water. Smh...
- 4.5/5
Location was brilliant and the staff were very friendly/helpful Be nice if they served food but it didn’t impact my stay
- 5/5
Room was very clean and the staff was the highlight! Jessie, receptionist at the front desk, was so helpful and kind! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again! Close access to Times Square and lots of great spots!
- 4/5
Very clean, lovely front desk personell
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
Easy check-in. Affordable luggage hold. Free waters. Friendliness. Lobby could be more inviting.
- 5/5
The hotel is close to downtown and it’s clean. The staff was lovely and accommodating. We would stay here again!
- 5/5
It was clean and comfy
- 1.5/5
Location Shabby
- 4/5
Very nice staff. Conveniently located.
- 2/5
all night noise from the vent
- 3/5
It's good for a one night stay.I had the king size bed. It was comfortable. We were facing the street. It was a little noisy because of construction that was going on. Location was very good too. The price is reasonable.
- 3/5
The location was good. The hotel is older and had a bit of strange smell. However, we had long days roaming around the city and slept well when we go back to the hotel. The hotel is some distance from the nearest subway and a decent rider from LaGuardia.
- 4/5
Room was clean, my room was out of body gel and never replaced even after reporting it to the front desk. Staff very friendly and courteous. Room was kinda noisy from street noise. Location was pretty good and good price point for NYC.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Staff and space was amazing
- 5/5
Everything you need for a reasonable price! Cute friendly hotel! We love it here
- 5/5
Staff is amazing, very good location.
- 3/5
It was a simple nice room but noisy in multiple ways. There was big noise made by the air conditioning or something every 10 minutes, there is a night club or something on the back that’s playing musics until 23:00 and the walls between rooms are very thin.
- 5/5
This place is perfect…no frills, but clean and safe and everything you need! Front desk is super friendly
- 5/5
Great location and super nice reception staff. Room was very clean too.
- 4/5
Clean, very good size room. Close to midtown and the theatres. Staff were friendly.
- 4.5/5
Pillows need to be changed. There are 4 pillows in each queen bad, however at least 2 for each bad should be changed, they were outdated and it was inconvenient to sleep.
- 1/5
The room looked nothing like the photos shown on the app. The hotel is clearly below average, very cheap-looking, and poorly equipped. There was not even a kettle in the room, which is basic for any hotel at this price point. Overall, this felt like a low-budget motel, not a proper hotel. The experience was disappointing and misleading. I regret booking this place and will never book a hotel through this platform again. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 5/5
Decent sized room
- 1/5
My major complaint is the bathroom. The shower floors looked horrible and I needed slippers while showering. No true ventilation in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Nice size room. Clean. They clean your room daily. For Manhattan and price I don’t think you can beat it.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Clean Room. Staff were friendly. Great location. Would stay again.
- 4/5
My daughter and I stayed for a few days for a post Christmas trip. We were pleased with the location. It is close to Times Square but far enough away from the craziness. Staff was friendly. They were super helpful when my daughter was sick and we needed a later checkout. Would definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
Room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked.. nice location. Staff was amazing
- 4.5/5
It was perfect
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here at this hotel, I noticed that the hardwood floors were being mopped every single morning by the cleaning staff which made me feel really comfortable, knowing that the room is very clean! The heater worked amazing. The shower felt really good. The TVs are a little bit outdated and there is not really a metro nearby. You have to walk A good amount.. But having a microwave and fridge was game changer! Loved my stay here. I wish they would just hold the luggage for free, but it is two dollars a piece.
- 3/5
The location was great but space in room was limited.
- 3/5
Hotel was pretty below average. I did not feel as safe since people were able to walk in freely into the lobby and use the restroom. The sleep quality also wasn’t the best due to the noises around the area. The staff wasn’t as friendly and overall customer service was poor.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. The hotel was within walking distance to Times Square, shopping, restaurants and others attractions. The rooms were quite spacious, however the blinds were dirty, there was an ear bud that didn't belong to me that was on the floor for the entire stay. There was also dead cockroaches on 2 separate occasions. The hotel has great potential, just housekeeping needs to be fine tuned.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Staff is excellent. Close walks to everything pretty much. Room was clean.
- 3/5
We had a problem with lock on door. We were in town for engagement and could not access our room for hours. I called when we were on our way back and was told issue resolved. We went to room to find maint still there trying to fix door. Someone guy in room making beds We asked him to leave because we needed to get out to our event. There are no amenities. No ice. Very disappointed. Was in town for weekend after Xmas paid a fortune for room
- 4/5
The staff were super friendly and helpful! The room was very spacious and clean. Great location and great amenities!
- 4/5
The staff was nice. The room wasn't bad, a little worn out but the bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Employees amazing and nice, everything is so close and walkable and hotel room was spacious and beautiful! Definitely coming back!
- 3/5
The room was dark due to faulty wiring in the sconces and the only lights available were bed lights, the shower rod kept falling on our heads, the microwave couldn’t be used because 1/3 of it was hanging off the small wood ledge it was on.
- 5/5
Nice size room especially for Manhattan! Clean, great location!
- 5/5
Building is quiet, clean and the room is clean and comfortable
- 2/5
The concierge called about 40 minutes later after I reported the boiler issue, and offered a room change at midnight, which prevented a one-star rating.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, Greta location by Time Square and Subway station
- 3/5
The male staff that answered the phone were extremely helpful and had great service! The rooms do not look like the pictures. The rooms are basic at best. Cleaning is not thorough. The heater “growled” each time it turned on, and as a light sleeper I didn’t get much sleep. But the location is PERFECT. If you’re not picky about the quality of the room to lay for a night this will work for you.
- 3/5
The room was good. But The bathroom design needs work. And the half glass shower door with curtain. No good. The curtain sticks to you the entire shower. The shower head shoots out at full speed, no way to adjust.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 3/5
Good
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. It’s a little run down but the location is great.
- 5/5
Everything easy. Staff was great.
- 4/5
Ashley the manager is very friendly and approachable. She handled our concern in a timely professional manner. Hotel was clean and courteous with the complimentary waters. Thank you
- 4/5
Clean , simple
- 5/5
All good and great location.
- 4/5
The room was great! Just the fridge leaked once. There was a women at the front desk that was so kind to us and told us so many places to go and see since we were from out of state.
- 5/5
Room was a lot bigger than expected--Especially for NYC hotels. It was also a great location in terms of being in walking distance to other great NYC areas. I would go back there again!
- 1/5
Support staff and check in non existence
- 4/5
Room was clean and convenient to Broadway and Penn Station. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
We had an excellent stay, rooms are super clean and the staff members are friendly and caring. I personally would like to say a " Big thank you" to Jessie for ALL her caring assistance, she went above and beyond for us and we truly appreciate her!! We will definitely be back! We highly recommend!!!
- 4/5
The front desk staff is fabulous. Five stars. It is a small boutique hotel and the location is great. I would stay there sgain
- 5/5
The hotel was clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location was great. We would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Staff were amazing. Near lots of food options.
- 5/5
Staff were really friendly and accomodating. This hotel is one of my top spots.
- 4.5/5
The hotel had very friendly, helpful staff. The room was small but clean. The location is well suited for subway transportation, walking distance to Madison Square Gardens, Macys, food places and Times Square. It would be nice to have a small table with coffee, hot water for tea or hot chocolate during the cold months in lobby. Better visable signage out front for your hotel for visitors and drivers to locate.
- 4/5
I stayed last Halloween oct 29th- Nov2nd Rooms are big enough for 3 people, bathroom it is bigger than other ones I had stayed Location is near from Times Square, 10 min walk distance Facilities are nice, not lux but definitely worth the price Staff was very friendly, however there was a lady that was at the front desk that is not client oriented. She was during our last 3 days and she refused to give us an invoice because it was coming from booking, however they mentioned the hotel is responsible She has zero modals, yelling us because apparently we crossed one door it wasn’t enable, with no signs of it. She thinks she is the owner of the hotel, and I’m sure the owner is more friendly than her by far There are much Latino in the hotel (she seems as well Latina) but she seems to dislike them (us) Latinos like a well quality service with friendly staff, so I believe you will need to check your staff soft skills That’s the main reason I will not be staying again, because people like her.
- 4/5
Great staff, clean room
- 5/5
Staff were kind and helpful.
- 5/5
Perfect location within easy walking distance to several Broadway theaters. The interior could some tlc but overall felt that our room was clean. For the most part didn’t hear much exterior city noise but there was some loud music from a club or something we could hear from our room for part of the night. Would choose to stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean simple room… nice staff.
- 4/5
The first room was pretty dirty! It was not fully cleaned. Had to ask for a new room.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Super nice staff
- 3/5
It was a great location, close to everything we needed. Staff is very nice and helpful. Beds were comfortable. The rooms are nasty, floors and walls looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The room and bathroom is very small. The rooms needs major updates. Pictures are very deceiving.
- 5/5
Clean… friendly front desk staff.
- 5/5
Excellent for all
- 4/5
Room was large. Clean room and bathroom. Hot water and great water pressure. Convenient location for walking. Staff was friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Great location, comfortable bed, kind staff and great water pressure!
- 5/5
Very well cared for and wonderful warm front desk staff. The hotel is certainly older and light on amenities, but it offers a clean, comfortable bed to sleep in. Washroom was recently renovated
- 5/5
Room was clean and spacious- staff super. Lobby small and no bar
- 3/5
The room was lacking many things we are used to having. There was no bureau, a very small closet, poor lighting, a microwave that was in front of a pole with no lighting to see the buttons, a TV with only 4 stations that we couldn't even watch, no access to ice, no seating area to eat, little gouges all over the bathroom counter, marks on the floor, the room was clean but needs updating badly.
- 1/5
There was no heat in the room on a very cold night. Air was blowing cold air. They tried to fix it but it really was not a great experience, especially for 625.00 a night. Also the light on the side of the bed did not work. We were given a blanket to help keep us warm. We will not be staying her again unless the owner gives us a partial refund. We won’t hold our breath.,
- 4/5
The room was clean. The staff was friendly. It was a room and bathroom however who has time to stay in a hotel room when there is so much to see and do within walking distance of the hotel?
- 5/5
Nice staff, clean room
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Jessy, in particular, truly made it feel like home, but honestly, every single team member went above and beyond. The entire place was spotless, the atmosphere warm, and the location couldn’t be more perfect. We will definitely be staying here again! Highly recommend.
- 2/5
The positives were that the bed was comfy for 4 days. And you are 2 blocks to the subway on either 42nd St. or the 7 crosstown. I also thought that there was not a single chair or dresser which I personally think is weird. No coffee maker or anything of that sort. our cost was over 300 a night yes that is on the cheaper side for TS area. Basic toiletries would have helped, cleaner room would have helped. A dresser or a place to store clothes would have helped. The HVAC basically does a either hot or cold thing, its temp controlled however if you dial it to 74 for example and its checking that it is 75 in the room it runs the ac. that is kinda minor. TLDR rooms sucks, location is solid, staff was nice.
- 5/5
The rooms are larger than many we’ve stayed in around the city. This was our second stay here, and we will be back. It’s becoming one of our favorite places to stay.
- 1/5
The room was visibly dirty. There was dust on the counters and bathroom sink area. I got really bad doc allergies and couldnt sleep. Its a pet friendly hotel but they didn't do a good job cleaning the room from last time a dog stayed there which gave me a really bad allergic reaction.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Front desk people were really nice and very helpful.
- 3/5
Bare bones room, courteous check in.
- 5/5
The staff were all really friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean with everything we needed: fridge, microwave, ironing board and iron, hairdryer. When I asked about coffee facilities a coffee machine was brought to our room. Great location - close to subway but far enough away from the bedlam of Times Square. Round the corner from 42nd St subway which goes direct to downtown and JFK. Great cafe opposite for breakfast. I’d stay here again.
- 5/5
Hotel accommodations were perfect for us. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Only minor issues were the shower curtain rod wouldn’t stay up and the sink drained slowly.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was friendly
- 4/5
Great location if you want to walk all over to explore NYC. We were 10 minutes each direction from activities we had planned (MSG, Broadway, & NBC). Staff was kind and friendly!
- 4/5
The room did not have coffee or tea however when we called the front desk, they instantly sent over the machine. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and responsive. I would book here again if I was coming to NY.
- 3/5
The room was okay except there was no soap provided and the TV did not work.
- 5/5
Cleanness was amazing , staff was really helpful and sweet
- 5/5
Hotel was comfortable easy to find and met our needs. Shower didn't work first night but they were happy to fix it for us and no further problems after that. Rooms were clean, good size and comfortable.
- 1/5
Room not what was promoted. Window shades were drawn in the room, opened them to find weird red lights and a pitch black space ( video high from top of windows showed fake trees blocking the window and a weird empty restaurant space) Window hadblack painters tape around the edges. Requested a room change, non was available. Did not feel safe there for many reasons. Left and went home.
- 5/5
Great staff at front desk!
- 5/5
The front desk was very friendly. I was surprised when she gave me water when I checked in. That was very nice
- 5/5
The staff is very friendly
- 5/5
Courtesy was in abundance at check in. The hotel was clean. The room was clean and clean smelling and much larger than other rooms we have stayed in in the city.
- 5/5
Clean room comfortable beds
- 5/5
The location was perfect - close enough to walk to Broadway shows in 15 minutes, yet far enough away that it's out of the craziness. The front desk team was wonderful (thanks again Luz, you're a gem!). I'll definitely be staying here again in the future.
- 2/5
The receptionist was nice but we had to pay $2 per luggage item in cash to store our luggage. The lobby is very sparse with a very low end look to it. The rooms have plenty of wear and have very little in them. Beds and pillows are adequate. Good location for hotel but will not be staying again due to the low quality. Also lights were very finicky going off randomly.
- 2/5
Had paid for 2 queen beds but got 2 double beds for 4 people. When asked about the beds, staff reassured me that I had a queen room without checking the room and dismissed the concern of being in the wrong room. The bed frame was queen however the actual bed was not. Not ideal for two people to share a bed.If you don’t pay attention carefully you can hurt yourself along the wooden bed frame. Dim lighting but overall great location.
- 5/5
My room was great convenient location, staff was very helpful. Awesome soaking tub.
- 0.5/5
Nothing- the pictures were misleading. A complete sham by Booking.com This property is barely a 1 star hotel - I ask Booking.com to make it right and Refund me.
- 5/5
Clean room, very nice staff great central location. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Clean and great location
- 5/5
Amazing front desk staff! Especially, the lady on our first day. She was sweet and kind enough to allow us to do early check in when we asked. Didn’t give us a hard time at all. Each time we returned, no matter the time of day we were greeted by each staff that was working the front desk. The room were very spacious and the hallway for the elevator was not tiny like most hotels in NYC. We will definitely return!
- 4/5
I really like staying at Truss. The only thing I didnt like this stay was that the heater/fan was very noisy, but that hasn't been an issue when I've stayed there before so it may just be that room. The area surrounding the hotel is okay, but I make it a point to plan a route around Port Authority which is pretty much right next to Truss as Port Authority isn't always the safest to pass, especially at night. If you avoid that and head down an avenue as opposed to a street in that direction first, you're fine!
- 5/5
Jessy was Amazing and very helpful.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, room was spacious.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The neighborhood was perfect for a quick visit to the city to catch a show. Close enough for a quick walk, yet far enough that it was quiet and not so touristy. Be sure to grab an espresso martini and a bite across the street at Nittis.
- 2/5
The staff and service were amazing but the hotel was in need of some TLC.
- 1/5
This hotel has THE worst management I have ever encountered, including actual managers that lie and steal your money if you make any mistakes with your reservation! AVOID!!!!!
- 4/5
Very close to Times Square, walking distance to Rockefeller, Bryant Park, Madison Square Garden. Clean hotel Room has no coffee/tea amenities
- 5/5
Nice
- 3.5/5
Convenient for my office and generally easy to get around. Very near to the Armory Show that I was also here for and easy access to restaurants in the area. A bit noisy at night on the main street than I expected, so didn't always get a good night of sleep.
- 5/5
The location is not too far to Times Square and the subway stations. There are plenty of places to eat. We felt safe in the area. The hotel is clean, though it’s not brand new. The rooms have microwave and refrigerator which was a big plus for us. We were able to walk to the nearest deli, get something to eat and warm up the left-overs later. The front desk staff are nice especially Jessy who is very cheerful and gives honest recommendations, and Tony who brought us ice, towels on numerous request. Our 5-day stay was great. The downside was the noise from cars and sirens, but that added to the NYC feel - we still slept okay.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Best front desk staff! No frills but clean, simple rooms in a great location. Amazing water pressure - prepare to be power washed in the shower! Thanks to Diana, Carlos and Jessie and manager (James I think) for the great service. This is our third stay for our whole team and we will be back.
- 4/5
The mattress was too soft. Pillows too firm. Ninth Ave is a VERY busy road. Expect a lot of street noise- sirens and honking all night long. Bring ear plugs if this bothers you because it will be loud.
- 4/5
Some noises at night
- 5/5
There is a parking garage around the corner and many restaurants and delis nearby to choose from.
- 4/5
Perfect location, hotels a little dated but overall I would book again
- 3/5
Typical time Square area hotel. Nothing special, serviceable and overpriced. Staff are excellent though.
- 5/5
My daughter and I came for a concert and a quick trip away and everything was so close we could walk! The staff were amazing! We got soaked and Jessica at the front desk literally gave me her ugs to wear while mine dried! I’ve never had a better experience anywhere! Big shout out to Jessica!! The room was clean, comfortable and considering where the hotel is was relatively quiet ! Will 100% stay again!
- 5/5
Great room .. AC worked but it did click at times
- 4/5
Great staff and clean room. Coffee in the lobby would’ve been a plus!
- 5/5
Carlos was amazing. Great location! Hot shower and a perfect bed.
- 5/5
Room is clean
- 2/5
This hotel gave me creepy vibes from the minute I walked in to it. The front desk person has to lock the front door after a certain time - which should say all a person needs to know about what kind of area it’s in. The room felt like a cheap motel room. I’m not sure how this place has 4 stars. I didn’t even feel comfortable enough in the hotel to sleep without the lights off. So needless to say I didn’t feel good here. I even found myself questioning how clean the bathroom was.
- 5/5
None
- 4/5
Everything was incredible! The environment is super friendly and clean, the area is definitely perfect if you wanna go around manhattan and Times Square, they also have delivery food what was incredible aftera very long day when you don’t wanna eat more fast food and is a 24h mini market cross street! They could improve the “game room” but otherwise was perfect!
- 5/5
the hotel is a prefect location walking distance to everything, very friendly staff. the only downside is they need to upgrade the bathroom a little bit because there is no fan, so when you do your bizniz the smells stays there for a bit but overall if excellent. will stay there again.
- 4/5
Reasonable sized room. Comfortable bed and good shower. Helpful staff.
- 2/5
I didn’t like how my sheet was stain and dirty. It was visible soon as you walked in the door, mildew stains at that. The day I checked in. The hotel staff is trying to get in my room. Claiming to set a thermostat. I’m paying $900 a night. There’s no reason you should have to come in my room a few hours after I checked in. That was the whole purpose of me getting away. To have peace and quiet and no disturbance for my children, but I have to pay to get disturb from workers.
- 3/5
Broken shower with no water temperature adjustment option for shower. Near by train line causea loud noise, so if you are a light sleeper, avoid.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
Hotel was very nice
- 4/5
Good location from penn station and msg. Nothing special abiut hotel except rooms were bigger than most nyc hotels and jess at front desk was great. She provides great customer service which we usually do not find at nyc hotels
- 5/5
Wanna send a special thanks to Jess. She was very helpful with any questions I asked. The stay was good. The staff was very friendly. The room was nice and tidy…
- 1/5
I am not sure how this hotel is highly rated. From the lobby to our room, it was dirty and unkept. Our room had mold in the shower, toenail clippings on the ground and a broken window shade that didn't keep the light out at night. The final straw was they had turned off the A/C and our room was 81. When we asked about this issue, we were brushed off and told they couldn't resolve the issue. We were supposed to stay two nights, only ended up staying one and booked at another hotel for our remaining nights. Do fall for the ratings on this one.
- 4/5
Nice staff. Unfortunately the room has not a window and the lights of the room were really bad.
- 5/5
Staff were professional and friendly.
- 4/5
Hotel has a very unappealing and small lobby. It looks like a laundry establishment not a hotel lobby. The room was clean, small and the furniture was so so. Air conditioning was good. The hallway was dark and unappealing.
- 5/5
Very clean and amazing staff
- 3/5
Hotel was under construction or newly renovated, but still very clean and quiet. Staff was amazing, friendly and courteous.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Since we were on the third floor, it was very loud due to the construction. Would recommend ear plugs.
- 2/5
Room had no window. It’s blocked by the restaurant. Fire alarm went if off. Will be torn down shortly.
- 5/5
Just loved it for a fun night out
- 5/5
Jessy on reception was a delight, so friendly and helpful. Our suite was super spacious with two toilets, a huge shower and kitchenette facilities. Chris on maintenance also repaired a blind for us as soon as we reported it. Loved our stay!
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location.
- 5/5
Room was a good size and clean Bathroom did show some wear and tear (bottom of the shower tiles were broken). Easy distance from Times Square and subway routes - about a 10 min walk.
- 5/5
Jessy was so amazing!! She greeted with so much kindness from the second we walked in the door. She was very helpful with our questions and with giving my boyfriend and me good suggestions. I feel like we’re friends now!!
- 5/5

- 5/5
We had a great experience at Truss Hotel. The receptionist Jessy was extremely helpful and friendly. She provided exceptional service and created such a positive experience. The room was spacious and close to the convention. I would deff book here again :)
- 4/5
The rooms are renovated and clean, the halls are basic but nice. The staff always said hello upon entry which was nice. No coffee in the rooms, needed to walk to get some in the early AM, not the safest area early in the morning or late at night, but it’s fine during the day.
- 5/5
Would use this property again. Staff were wonderful! Walkable. No noise from road in our room.
- 5/5
Didn't use parking.
- 5/5
Jessy at the front desk is THE BEST concierge I've ever met. Place was spotless. Quiet. Easy walk from Penn Station. Area felt safe day and night.
- 4/5
Great staff, immediate response to any problems. Very clean and comfy. I would have preferred a walk in shower instead of the deep tub. The area needs more close restaurants but I assume that the area will grow.
- 3/5
We were only at this hotel from midnight to checkout. When I stepped in the elevator I knew. The walls need to be painted, dirty and scuff marks all over. This includes the room. The showers were old and looked dirty. There was Cheerios on our floor.
- 4/5
Great customer, okay rooms they need renovated.
- 5/5
Jesse at the front desk was awesome! Needed a handicap room and was on it!
- 5/5
Great place, recomended
- 5/5
Good staff nice and friendly, daily housekeeping lots of food options near by aswell

The staff at this hotel are simply amazing and will take care of you in the best possible way. We were greeted by different staff at reception but all of them were superb. They made my family feel at home and were always there to help, guide our share an insiders view of local food, shopping or sight seeing.

I am very pleased with my stay at the Truss hotel. It is very convenient to many things, including Times Square, the Broadway area, Madison Square Garden and Penn station, the Hudson Yards etc. Plenty of restaurants and quick eats in the area. Our room was quite large for NY, and very clean. Bathroom was ordinary and fine. Hot water took a little while to come but eventually did. Staff friendly and helpful. You can leave your luggage there after check out for $2 a piece which is great if your flight leaves late. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good location. Our room was really quiet too.

Dirty shower hair on sink and paint splashes all over the floors
- 5/5
Great location, great price, great stay!
- 5/5
We were really impressed with the room. Clean and felt recently updated. The bathroom was spotless. We used the 24hour deli across the street for food and drinks. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Port Authority Bus Terminal which is a major Subway hub as well.

Absolutely loved our stay. We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids both the kids had birthdays whilst we stayed here. Upon arrival we was greeted by Jesse who has excellent customer service experience. She wished both girls a happy birthday and gave us an upgrade to suite which was massive when we entered the room it had been decorated with ballooons, banners and bunting which truly added a real touch. Both girls were thrilled as was me and mum. Thank you Jessy !!! Over all the hotel is really clean and rooms were cleaned daily, you don’t wait for lifts and when in the lifts they are really quick to arrive at your floor, hotel is in a great location with just a 10 min walk to time square and all the hussle and bussle. Plenty of stores to eat and drink when you step out the hotel.
- 5/5
It was very nice.
- 3/5
This hotel advertises Times Square but is decidedly Hell’s Kitchen. It’s a walk to Times Square. Not what we were expecting. I’ve stayed at a few in Times Square. This was not it. Free water when available though.

Good location

Excellent Location
- 5/5
Super clean & spacious room. Attentive staff, especially Jessica who was very welcoming & helpfull.
- 1/5
Filthy and not maintained. Really really bad
- 5/5
At first i thought i was going to be disappointed. The hotel did not have breakfast or a rooftop pool, as i thought it did. I can tell you that the staff made up for any deficiencies. Jessy was outstanding. She made sure we had ice, water, car service, recommendations, and anything else we might have asked for. The staff at this hotel arw beyond exceptional.

Great stay for a quick weekend by the city
- 4/5
Clean room. Wonderful friendly staff. Good location.
- 4/5
Great location near Times Square. Staff very friendly. Clean comfortable room.
- 2/5
The property lacked cleanliness. The bathrooms had mold.
- 5/5
The hotel staff, especially Jessi, were super nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, bigger than i expected.
- 5/5
it was good!
- 2/5
Not at Times Square as the name suggests
- 5/5
I would DEFINITELY stay here again. The location was excellent, the room was clean and much larger than I was expecting. The staff was friendly and so helpful, and there was someone at the front desk 24/7 to answer questions or help me find my way around town. They even brought me a coffee maker for my room. Highly recommended!
- 4/5
your sink in the bathroom is no good.it takes too long for the water to go down. you need to take care of it and also your Elevator is too dark needed more light.
- 4/5
The pictures were totally different from reality. However, it was nice that we were close to Times Square and trains were walking distance.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
The Staff here are beyond’s expectations. Thankful and very helpful. Near to almost everything.
- 1/5
I never got my deposit back.
- 4/5
Overall a very nice stay, and staff is very friendly. The room was a little dated and dirty but nothing that raised any alarm. We also had some issues with our keycards but the staff resolved it for us right away.
- 5/5
Luz at the front desk was awesome. This is a reasonably-priced boutique hotel in a great location that's clean, comfortable and run by an excellent management team.
- 3/5
Reserved 3 rooms. Our stay was decent. Staff were nice but room condition could have been better. Shower floor tiles were in poor form- tiles were not caulked properly and caulking strips were visible. Ended up wearing our sandals to take shower. Paint patches were not covered properly near the window. I guess renovations needed to be completed.
- 2/5
Staff were absolutely amazing! But the rooms themselves have gone downhill the past year alone. Not well maintained.
- 5/5
Room was very comfortable
- 2/5
The hotel advertised rooftop which was closed and no hot tub at the location. They charge you $2 in cash only to keep each luggages if you arrive before the 4pm check in. The hotel do not offer free breakfast. The room was decent nothing to brag about at all. If visiting NYC I would not stay in this location again. Best to pick a better quality hotel for your stay.
- 2/5
The bathtub was clogged on my check-in night. We reported the issue and requested compensation, but the front desk staff repeatedly hung up on our calls. After multiple attempts, we finally reached the manager, who promised a 50% refund. However, we only received a 30% refund.
- 4/5
Wonderful stay….‼️‼️‼️‼️ Clean rooms..Bed so comfortable
- 3/5
Great location, decent price. However the room had a few issues. When we checked in, the room had not been thoroughly vacuumed and we found a few nail clippings on the floor. Also, the shower tile grout at the base was black and tile was starting to separate from the wall. The reading light next to the bed would intermittently turn on and off which was odd (haunted? lol) We didn’t spend much time in the room as we had a full schedule of theatre and sightseeing so it was fine for us. Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a convention. Our room was the king size bed. The room was AC cool, clean, and organized. The curtains were a bit of a problem due to how loose it was. Luckily, the staff was able to fix it in no time. Our stay was great and would recommend this place again.
- 4/5
everything was good
- 4/5
Location and price was good, but bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Front desk was great, I think they are unstaffed though.
- 5/5
She made the difference! Thank you Jessy! Gracias!
- 5/5
Everyone was so friendly! The hotel was simple but nice. Great location!
- 3/5
Our stay here was fine but noise was a concern- both from a bar/restaurant next door and construction.
- 5/5
It was a great hotel for our one night visit.
- 4/5
The trust hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. Everything inside is brand new and clean and they cleaned our room every single day and brought us extra towels and everything we needed. We were 5 minutes from the subway, and same distance to Times Square and it seemed all the hotels were close together. The only thing that was a disappointment was that they only have 4 floors of hotel now so all the reviews that mentioned the rooftop and breakfast were completely irrelevant! It’s now a condo. But our stay was perfect and we would stay there again.
- 5/5
Convenient location. Hotel a little old but kept up. Room size good. No thrills stay. Gets the job done.
- 3/5
Room was in rough shape and had a fake window. no fan in the bathroom and hallway smelled terrible. Its a skeleton crew of employee but those working at reception were outstanding. The location is in Hell's Kitchen, despite the name. Not the safest of areas for walking at night.
- 5/5
The front desk people made our stay extremely comfortable and went above and beyond to assist my accessibility needs. This is our 2nd year here and we will return again for more!
- 4/5
I would rely on my own toiletries but there are some provided. Water pressure was good and the room was quiet despite being a convention weekend with a packed hotel. We did have to change rooms the first day (able to the next morning) because our original room was the unlucky one mentioned in other reviews with a covered window and very unpleasant shower. Mold on the grout, strange hardened white blotches where you’d stand, just not acceptable. The staff was more than understanding and helped us swap early the next day with ease. New room was perfect — clean, zero complaints, and a great view. Luggage stowing and pickup was a breeze even on an extremely busy day. And being only 2 avenues (approx. 10 minute walk) from the Javits Center was great. Thanks to the staff for making our hectic 4 days so comfortable!
- 5/5
Very good services and location
- 4/5
Good location. My wife preferred outside city limit next time.
- 5/5
We loved staying in Hell's Kitchen, parking was convenient and the entire staff was awesome. Chris and Jessie are such a great asset to hotel. Thank you for making our stay amazing. Our son loved hanging out in the lobby and visiting Jessie.

- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
We will definitely stay here again! Thank you to Jessy for making our first trip to NYC a great one!
- 3/5
But hotel is near to all locations.
- 3/5
We had an OK stay at the Truss Hotel but for the money you can find better. Overall the hotel is looking tired and in need of some TLC and whilst in good proximity to Times Square, had a fair amount of homelessness in close proximity. So the positives:The staff on reception were very welcoming, the room was a good size for new york and the bed were pretty comfortable. The negatives: the rooms are in bed of redecorating, the bathrooms are getting mouldy around the shower with tiles missing, there's no light natural or otherwise it's quite dark and as the room overlooked a restaurant there was a fake leaf wall blocking any view/light and we were unable to open the blind. But worse of all is the noise from the aircon it sounds like your powering the entire building. So you won't get a peaceful nights sleep and you can't switch it off and choose to bake instead.
- 4/5
As expected for New York the room was fairly small ( 2 x double beds ) so didn’t leave loads of room for much else, bathroom was a good size. Had a fridge and shelf style desk. TV was a good size with plenty of channels. Beds were comfortable and no complaints here. Would have benefited from a suitcase stand, but due to space this isn’t possible. Few marks and imperfections as you’d expect from wear and tear. Location was ok, but this certainly isn’t the nicest part of Manhattan, with New York’s homeless problem evident around the property. However we did not have any issues but would describe ourselves as street smart. Those less confident might feel vulnerable late at night, and I wouldn’t let this put you off, just be aware if your planning on walking around a lot, also isn’t the closest to a subway station so again be aware of this.
- 3/5
The property needs to be updated. The pictures do not match thr actual rooms. There was hair all over the bathroom and i dont have any hair.
- 5/5
The staff are very friendly!!
- 4/5
Rooms are clean. It is close to the MSG, Times Square, Moynihan train hall (Amtrack), and multiple subway stops. Front desk, room service, and maintenance employees were awesome. The roof top access is only for residents, and there is no laundry in the building, but there is one across the road. I still believe it is a good price for the location. I would recommend to stay here if you are looking for an affordable place in a great location.
- 5/5
All the ladies at the front desk were very hospitable and helped me a lot with recommendations during my trip
- 4/5
Bathroom had signs of mold from the damp around the shower and both the handheld and rain head shower leaked when in use. During our stay there was also an overnight water outage. Staff were friendly and this wouldn’t stop us staying here again however some of the issues could have been solved easily making it a much nicer stay.
- 5/5
The staff behind the desk were very helpful and always willing to assist in any way possible. The room was spacious and the air conditioning was great considering how hot it was. While I had booked a room which mentioned a city view, I got a very limited view of the building across the road. The area was good and definitely walkable to all main attractions around Times Square but some areas of the street felt a little unsafe at night around the bus station.
- 4/5
Bad location
- 5/5
Good location. Hotel is good every where is walkable distance. Has laundrette next to hotel which is helpful. Jessy at the reception desk was amazing and really helpful. She went above and beyond to help and assist where she could. 5 stars for Jessy.
- 5/5
Nice comfy bed and close to everything.
- 5/5
The A/C was functional but would never get colder than 72 degrees. I'm a large man that runs hot. I prefer my rooms to be below 70 degrees for comfort.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and friendly it was like interacting with Family, clean rooms, walking distance to Time Square, awesome corner store with healthy options. We will definitely be back ❤️
- 4/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. Thanks to Jessy and Luz. Parking nearby. Walking distance to Time square. Close to Hell’s Kitchen district for restaurants. Good size room with queen size beds (not many in NYC). Need a little bit of love in the bathroom (paint and mold).
- 4/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
The location is great for food and entertainment all around, very clean rooms and staff friendly.
- 4/5
Rooms were great. Bathrooms were great. Very spacious. Looks a little run down but isn’t. Could use a little updating. The curtains in windows were stained and need to be replaced. Lots of dust in the ceilings and corners. Other than that the room worked out great.
- 4/5
Mini fridge didn’t work which meant all my convenient food spoiled. :(. On the other hand staff was great and helpful. A little run down to be honest but very convenient to the Javits Center
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. Jessy at the front desk was amazing. Every place she suggested we should eat at was great. Just mins from Time Square.

Very close to Times Square. Staff were very helpful and friendly
- 3/5
The property itself is a bit run down, AC units barely work they had to change my room and it’s hot in the hallways.
- 5/5
The TRUSS was walkable convenient clean safe. Luz was absolutely amazing and the whole experience here was just great
- 5/5
Really good accommodations
- 5/5
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff — special shoutout to Jessie — made us feel welcomed and valued. Jessie went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, offering helpful local tips and checking in throughout our stay. The room was clean and cozy. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
This place was great. Will stay again
- 2/5
My stay at the Truss wasn’t a great one. The shower would not put out any hot water both days I stayed there and the room and the building show signs of wear. Additionally my room was facing the sushi restaurant out back so I could hear loud conversations and music up until 10PM with more noise extending beyond closing. In addition the WiFi code did not work. On the plus side the front desk was very friendly and the location was great for a trade show at the Javits center but on the whole I wish I had paid more to go with a name brand hotel.
- 4/5
I didn’t like the location . The staff was excellent especially Jess

Rooms and bathroom clean bed comfortable
